St. Francis Hospital in other cities:
This Hospital is totally rude! I called to find out if my friend was there as he had a heart attack and he told me he didn’t think so then transferred me 4 times to ppl who I also asked and they just kept transferring me 4 times without even responding, then back to the same guy who was very impatient and rude. I really hope I never have to go to this hospital…
Not happy with how I was treated When Oh Lord coming with chest pains but not hooked me up to a heart monitor only had a pulse ocks and EKG.Put me behind curtion area no one looked in on me for 2hrs And I there for hours. The Health Care what it is Back in the room I could have died from a heart attack.
I went into the hospital with a very high fever. The waiting room was crowded and it took several hours to get me into the ER, once there they immediately started testing and found that I had a serious infection of my right kidney. I spent five days in the hospital while they tried to find the right antibiotic to treat the infection before finally finding the right one. They treated me well and I give a thumbs up to my many nurses, technicians and doctors, but a definite thumbs down to the cafeteria. They could never get my diet right. Other than that, I wouldnt go to any other hospital except St. Francis!
My father in law was brought in by ambulance. Hes 84 and has pneumonia. They did nothing for him and discharged him. He came home and his IV port was still in his arm!!! Fortunately I have medical training so I was able to remove it. I understand that theyre overworked because of covid but this is unacceptable!!!
If I could give a 0 I would . Came in at 5:45 for pain in my right side . The sharpest pain I’ve ever had . It’s now 11:26 and the whole lobby is empty including ppl I came in with . Except me . I was told that because my issue wasn’t important to them they don’t take people from who came in first or not no . This couple had just walked in and not even 20 min latter had a room mind you I have been in the lobby for 6 hours at this point ? How is that right ?? Then the first 2 hours of being here a lady in the waiting room was vomiting in terrible pain and no one helped her until she had a seizure right on the floor then they had no other choose but to take her . But this white older couple walks in and the lady was fine she had a cast on her arm so I’m sure it had to do with that so why was she more important then the lady with the seizure . Don’t add up what so ever . Then I was told a room was scheduled for me and would take 1-2 HOURS FOR ME TO GET IN IT ? Mind yu that was at 9:30 it 11:30 now and still in the lobby . I’m leaving and will never be back
In less than an hour Ive already been seen for what I came in for and I really appreciate how kind the staff is. Anytime I go to Piedmont I have to wait over 4 hours to be seen, they take your vitals and then ask you to sit back in the lobby to wait double the time you did the first time..Thank you a ton for your service
Took my 3 year old with high fever, sat for over 11/2 hour her name wasnt called, but we walked out whe this 7 year old girl bleeding from her head the mother went to the receptionist and gave the poor mother a lame excuse, showing no sympathy nor remorse. We walked out, a babys life is more importpant, its the future of this world, not because shes my kid, but because youd do the same thing too. Ill be heading to piedmont hospital next time f••• Saint Francis hospital, not a very good pla e to take your family members..... rude staff
Took hours to get a test result back they said would take 30 minutes. They told me to ask the front desk about it if a hour had passed so I did. Front desk nurse had no clue what I was talking about looking at me like I was the inpatient dumb one, then proceeded to tell me when the doctor in the other room comes in to call a name to bumrush her and ask her any questions I had. After I walked away she continued her conversation with the girl next to her just laughing away.
Took my elderly mother to ER at 10pm last night. Possible Heart issue. Been here over 12 hours, supposed to be admitted, but the hospital doesnt have the staff to accept the patients. (13 were waiting.) The floors are dirty and have debris all over. I have never been in a medical facility that has been this unclean. The bathrooms are dirty also. We have asked to be discharged since my mother has been monitored overnight at the ER.
We live in NC but a family member is in the hospital and everyone has been great. I would like the thank Dr Messersmith in the ER, Jenna, Robert , Mark and Chase in ICU. Also Michael and Macy from 3rd floor south for providing us with updates. It has meant alot to us .
The staff and doctors where very kind and kept me in touch to everything I was in another hospital with my mother and they kept reaching out to me they are the best hospital in this town peadmont hospital and follow up is apsolutley awfull st Francis found several medical issues that should have been better addressed now he is finally getting the very best of care thank you staff and doctors in micu god bless you all .
Been here since 11 am it’s now almost three pm. My boyfriend had severe back pain. He couldn’t move without it causing even more pain. People who came in hours after us was seen waaaaaaayyy before us. This place has nurses and doctors playing around and picking who they see instead of actually helping people who really need it. If I could give zero stars I would in a heart beat!
Husband and I are new in town and were referred here by his doctor due to abnormal ekg and severe chest pain. It’s been 2 almost three hours and he’s still waiting to be seen... I understand we are in a pandemic and things can get pretty hectic in the ER, but you still should treat each patient with care and consideration. I shouldn’t feel worried for my husbands safety in the care of medical professionals. I wish these medical professionals would show some EMPATHY as their loved ones could be waiting anxiously for care and immediate medical attention. It is the EMERGENCY ROOM after all…
Sitting in the ER listening to the nurses make fun of the patients. My nurse had an attitude. If it continues while Im here I will be pressing charges. Came in 7/10/21 at 1 left on my own at 7 nurses tryed to force me to sign papers and tryed to force me to stay after they forgot about me again. Tryed to call said number and crystal got snotty and hung up on me. This is the secong time yall have forgotten about me and left me to suffer. Husband says we will be talking to a lawyer..I have called and left messages and Noone have ever tried to get back to me.
Recent experience with the Emergency Room was fantastic. Loved one went to ER, when we arrived after the ambulance we were greeted in a timely manner and were informed of my father’s condition. The nurse (Justin) and Dr. Ragan were both attentive a let us know frequently what was going on. We were met by a Chaplin offering kind words of comfort and encouragement. Thus far 3 south staff, hospitalist and case mgmt have been great.
Okay, St.Francis let’s be honest here. Your lying about your covid patient outgoing and incoming. You said the covid rate isn’t high but one of your nurses just told me that the beds are full due to covid. So which is it? Why do you have patients waiting in the emergency room with tubes and holes in there chest for over 10 hours and you don’t have a bed assignment yet? I think the news should actually be talking about this? If this was a senator or a doctors parents they would of been had a room.
I am a former employee contracted with g4s/allied security. I started working there because enrichment services sent the teachers home due to the pandemic. It was May 2020 when I started working/training for the job. I was extremely excited. G4S sent me to Atlanta to train. I was armed. Passed everything to become a CPO again. After training, I began the OTJ training at St. Francis. Still excited to work there. Travis S is a security officer on the hospital side, he was or is very lazy officer. Made my life hell. He tried to be smart but wasnt. Very uneducated. They made him lead security officer at night. He would sleep and slow to answer calls. Couldnt write or type. James the director of security at St. Francis was nice but sneaky. He said one thing but did another. He did underhanded dirty deeds. He didnt want to listen when I told him that Travis was lazy and he didnt do his job. Now on to G4S. Anthony Smith was hired on and he did mean and evil things to me when I was working along side of him. He pushed me aside when we was dealing with a patient in the Er. He tried to be more than what he was. Just do your job and go home. They watched me on camera and tried to tell me where to go to the bathroom. Tried to say I was badging into areas I should not be in. I was only using the bathroom so I could have privacy. James had me doing extra duty activities such as delivering items to different areas of the hospital. This is ok for him to do because Georgia is an at will state. The make it very hard for straight black women to work there. I loved my job while there but they made it hard.
I just had surgery at St. Francis yesterday and I have nothing but nice things to say about my experience. Every nurse, doctor, and other employees that I came in contact with were very nice, friendly, and put me at ease. I know I cannot remember everyones name, but Samantha in pre-op was so wonderful to me. She explained everything before she did it, and that definitely helped keep me calm. It was definitely a great experience!
I was scheduled for an induction at 2 am. I filled out all of my paperwork and Jennifer from labor and delivery even called me the day prior telling me how much my copay would be. I was told I could pay over the phone or pay when I arrived in the morning for my induction at 2 am. I told her I would pay when I arrived in the morning. When I arrived at the hospital, there was no record at all of my induction. I was told to call the doctors office during regular business hours to straighten this out. I even called the doctor on call who stated the same thing. This is totally unprofessional and inconvenient. Ive delivered here twice before (both my induction) and never received this type of treatment. Im not sure where the breakdown in communication happened, but Im very upset and wont be recommending this hospital for anything in the future.
Checked myself into the ER on Saturday night, and was immediately met with a huge “JESUS 2020” sign inside the hospital. So unprofessional. A small child passed out in the waiting room while I was there, and there were NO EMPLOYEES present in the waiting room! I had to run over there myself and assist the mother and child, and I am NOT a medical professional!Once I was taken back for treatment, at no point was I given a physical or neurological exam of any kind. They had taken a brief set of vitals in triage: BP, O2, and temp, but that was it. Inside the ER, they gave me medication without ever asking me for a list of medications I take at home! I didn’t realize that until they had already administered the meds, so I had to sit there and Google it myself to check for drug interactions!!! So incredibly dangerous and unprofessional. I also could hear employees talking badly about patients in the ER! Horrible experience!
My experience was terrible. The ER staff took care of me when first arrived once shift changed it went down hill. They gave me portable pot to use and left me sitting there with no tissue. The icu night shift nurses was wonderful but when I was moved to 3rd floor service was terrible. Nurse came in just wrote name on board and left out. When I asked for help that seem to be a problem. When I got discharged I had to walk my self out the nurse was too busy. I will not return to the hospital again just terrible. The case worker Mary was helpful.
DO NOT GO TO ST. FRANCIS HOSPITAL FOR ANYTHING!!!!My fiance went in for a CT scan with and without contrast. The person doing the scan trying to get the needle in the vein stuck her 4 times before getting it right. My fiance has very pronounced veins (Stevie Wonder could find them) while the saline and contrast went in it burnt extremely bad. She and I have both had multiple scans w/we contrast before and it never burned like that. Now her arm is so sore she can hardly move her arm and it is swollen and she has a bruise moving up her arm nowhere near the injection site. We called and reported it as while at a different appointment at a different much better hospital she was told by the doctor there that whoever did her scan had put the needle through a tendon and she advised us to call and complain. We did call and report it and were given the run around. They finally said they would have a supervisor call is back. When the supervisor finally called back (2 days later) all they would say is that everything looks good on their end and how well the images turned out and again gave us the run around. 1st thing Monday I will be contacting our lawyer. DO NOT USE ST. FRANCIS FOR ANY KIND OF HEALTHCARE!!!!!!!
My husband has had several outpatient procedures here. We have been extremely pleased with the treatment he received from the staff. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. The nurses were all very friendly and answered any questions we had. Before, during, and after there were plenty of people there to help and answer questions. Very accommodating and made sure my husband was comfortable and well cared for. Wouldn’t consider another hospital in this area!
This star should be a zero!!!! It wouldnt let me though not put a star. This Hospital needs a new overhaul. I Went to the ER yesterday for my heart going in and out of Afib. Registration and testing went quickly. (My heart rate was and still is 48 beats per minute and blood pressure is low). Then from there on in went downhill. Went up 3 times and told the receptionist I was feeling worse. Was informed she would tell the nurse. She did not or they decided to ignore it. Patients with broken bones and flu were all taking in to be seen by a doctor. At one point a young man with a broken hand threatened to leave and the one lady took him right in the back to be seen by a doctor!!!!!! After 6 hours I again tried to find out what was going on. Nurses from the back then came out and did a role call to see who hadnt left or been seen. 8 hours later still not seen and went up. I was informed the one lady was not allowed to leave her desk and the other lady said there was nothing they could do. After 8 1/2 hours we left!!! I am now filing a legal complaint and have informed my family IF ANYTHING happens to me they are to file a lawsuit. This place needs retraining or Shut Down!!!
I want to thank PA Kristina Waggner for helping my 4 year old son in the ER the other night. She was very thorough with diagnostic testing and did just enough to be completely sure my baby was going to be 100% clear to go home. She was professional yet kind. Her nurse Justin was fantastic with my son. He became the dinosaur man! Lol Also a thank you to the RN that evening for placing his IV catheter safely on his tiny little hand. She was also professional and kind. I always go here when we are in an emergency. Thank you to all staff. We are grateful to have yall on the front lines during this pandemic.♡Grateful mother
I was very impressed with St Frances Hospital, Dr. Ibrahim and the entire staff. He explained the procedure in laymans terms, answered questions fully, gave us plenty of time, and even called the day after the surgery to make sure everything was okay. The nurses - both on the floor and the ones who came to check vitals - were very responsive and accommodating...and really, took care of our entire family. We are from Atlanta, where we have plenty of doctors and hospitals to choose from -- so when we were referred to St Frances, we were a bit hesitant. We were so pleasantly surprised. There was no waiting, the parking was easy, the facility was nice and clean - and staff/patient ration was great. Crazy, but the service felt like concierge! Nowhere in Atlanta could we have gotten the amount of time and attention we got from the staff at St. Frances. We couldnt have been happier with the level of care at St. Francis!
This hospital is typical of the culture in Columbus. The hospital itself is fair with regard to patient service, quality of doctors and nurses, but its an old building incapable of handling patient inflow expeditiously. Support staff are doing their best to keep up, but the regressive approach to caring for patients clearly takes its toll on the staff. The worst service here is the ER, and unfortunately, theirs is the best within the city limits. Waiting for over eight hours to see an ER doctor is not unsual as they are horribly understaffed. My wife went there for a potential cardiac issue; we waited for six hours until I finally let go on the triage nurse. Only then did she allow us to go back. The whole episode took a completely unacceptable 11 hours from paperwork to discharge. But this is typical of healthcare in Columbus. Its pathetic; the worst Ive ever experienced. Take my advice, stay away from St. Francis ER unless youre literally on deaths bed. They may see you, but it may take hours. Good luck.
Waited at St. Francis Emergency Room for 14 hours. No vital signs or triage was done until after waiting 6 and 1/2 hours. The entire emergency room is filthy, there is trash everywhere in the waiting room and when you go to the back used alcohol swabs are all over the floor and blood drippings were on the floor and in chairs as well. I sat and watched about six patients leave without being seen because no one was being called back. The front desk staff keeps doing a “roll call” to check and see who’s still waiting to be seen. I thought going to St. Francis would be a better experience, because I’ve always heard terrible reviews about the other hospital here in town, but I was wrong! If I could give this hospital ER negative reviews I would. Not one time has any staff member said anything to us about their being a long wait. There are a bunch of people walking around in orange vests like construction workers, however they don’t have on hard hats. They’re actually sitting and standing behind the desk. Rumor has it, the hospital is updating their system and that’s why we had such a long wait. If this is true, it’s not considerate at all to patients who need emergency care. I guess it is true that the system is being updated, because every time a patient came in contact with a staff member they were told St. Francis was getting a new computer system. I can’t tell you how many times I heard that during my time spent in the ER. The restroom in the ER triage area was gross. There was urine all over the floor and the door didn’t lock. You could lock the door, but it could be pushed opened or closed while locked. The entire staff was unprofessional. It took 5 hours to get test results because of the system upgrade and when the results finally came in I had to walk to the nurses station and request them. I would not recommend this ER to anyone. Please go to Piedmont Columbus Regional where you will receive quality care in a timely manner and not have to worry about unsanitary conditions. I have a lot more to complain about on Monday morning!
My husband was admitted for issues with his heart and had to go into surgery. Everyone we met were helpful and I cant say enough about the nurses and staff! They made a very scary time in our lives as comfortable as could be and they always came in to check on him and the family to make sure we had everything we needed. The doctor and surgeon were amazing and I am thankful that God blessed them with the skill and knowledge that they have. We were told hed be in great hands and he really was. Cant thank them enough!!
This is the worst emergency room I’ve ever been in . They did not wipe down the seats . The clientele is polite , but extremely unaware and unhelpful . I came here with my bf for his concussion at 10:20 pm and it’s currently 4:14 and we are still here . Only one person could give us any time range and when they did it was an hour and counting off . Don’t come here .
The only hospital I trust. Not only because I have an extreme dislike for the medical center, but also because pretty much every experience Ive had here has been amazing. I delivered my baby in the Womens Hospital and it was absolutely one of the best and most rewarding experiences of my life. I did have a few rude nurses, but the good nurses made up for it tremendously. If youre on here reading all of the bad ER reviews but looking for a place to deliver, DELIVER HERE. It was an amazing birth experience. 5 Stars.
I arrived at the St Frances ER on March 7, Sunday afternoon due to a kidney stone, with fever and chills. I signed in and got my blood work done fairly quickly then had to wait a while to get my ct scan but eventually had that done only to be sent back down to the waiting area. I understand having to wait I truly do but for people in severe pain I believe 3-4 hour is ridiculous. When someone came to get me I pulled myself up off the floor with the help of my daughter and NO HELP FROM STAFF, I said aloud FINALLY because I knew I was gonna be getting to lay down and something for pain I was just relieved to called, but the response from the lady that called my name was “WHAT, YA WANT TO STAY OUT HERE AND WAIT A LITTLE LONGER!” Then she just dove into how the workers are just so unappreciated and she was sick and tired of hearing it from them! That was her apology! She was totally inappropriate and way out of line! I just waited 4 hours in total agony and had not said one harsh word to anyone about anything. I was in total shock to be verbally attacked in such a way in a place that it suppose to show care and concern for its patients. I only caught that her name was Tammy on her badge! Worst ER visit I have ever had! SO BEWARE of making Tammy mad, she can arrange for you to wait longer! As for everyone else in the ER They just acted like that was a normal thing and the head nurse came to me to defuse the situation and apologize for Tammy.I was admitted to St Frances that same night and once I got to a room and got settled it was a totally different experience. All the staff was nice and very caring. I am actually still here on Wed. March 11th and will be having Lithotripsy done tomorrow at 1. I was a lot sicker when I came in than I thought I was and I am great full to everyone here that has helped me get better and ready for my procedure tomorrow. This has been my longest hospital stay in my 46 years. It started off really bad but thankful for a good ending.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Don’t let one bad apple ruin the bunch! She is not worth it!
This review is about BILLING ONLY. The quality of care we received was excellent. That said, the bill for services was submitted to our insurance with the provider information incorrect, and we were billed an out of network rate when we should not have been. We have contacted St. Francis third party biller more than a half dozen times over four months to correct this issue. We have been told we would receive a call back multiple times. We have never received a call back. We were told the corrected claim was resubmitted to our insurance company. It has not been. We have been lied to. We have been hung up on. We have been told that the issue was being escalated, only to call back in later and find that it was not.Unfortunately, as a consequence of this, we will not be using St. Francis for our healthcare needs except in the case of a true emergency.
Hospital has improved since the merger. I used to avoid St Francis at all costs after several terrible experiences over the years. I decided to give it one more try last month and I’m glad I did. Treatment was fast and everyone was nice.My only concern was everyone allowed me to walk alone even though I kept repeating that I was very dizzy. Everything worked out fine for me. But someone should probably revisit protocol for fall risks.
This place needs to be shut down ...and investigated by the insurance company they will do xrays and blood to keep that money coming ...but no service to the patience...They will say nothing wrong when a person in pain...I forgot they did give my son a pain 💊 an discharged him in the same pain he came in with...All he got was DOSAGES OF I DONT CARE..
Arrived at 7:18pm. Had to leave at 1:32am due to not being seen. My body was exhausted. The only explanation they had was beds are full. They kept taking patients. Horrible service. Gloves not being used by ER waiting room staff when handling clean ups or patients. Will never go back there.
My son was referred there by a medical provider that day. We were in the ER for over 4 hours and I had to have my husband call to ask why we were waiting. They told him “There were no beds and were not going to be for days”. They told me to wait for several more hours while they looked for beds elsewhere, we waited and finally walked out. They charged us over $2,000 after our insurance paid for 6 hours waiting to be told there were no beds and 1 doctor visit. I saw a young blond nurse, with straight hair, giggle and call for a physician to call a death in a room, while I waited in a filthy grime covered chair in the hall. They made fun of a person who passed in the ER! That is no way to die! I photographed the dirty vinyl chair and a male nurse rushed to me and made me remove it from my phone! You could see a brown area from so many dirty bottoms that sat in that chair, it was that dirty. I plan to go to Piedmont if I have a choice in the future.
St. Francis Hospital was quite an experience for me. Ive never seen such behavior in my life at a hospital. Its like people are working cause its a job. Like they feel as if the same way they came looking they will leave looking. Which is sad. When you are working in an environment such St. Francis or any hospital, when you having to take care of treat people you need to have patience and compassion. Over all I give 2 stars because there were a few of the staff members that are really there because they have compassion to serve people in their condition. However one staff in the mental health by the name Todd I truly believe has a passion for his job. He went by the policy but he also took into consideration of the patient. They confiscated my tablet they said devices werent allowed. I asked for a bible several times 4 people said I will see. I asked for the fifth time in the present of Todd he said give me a minute now I know hard back books are not allowed but I will see. A priest came with the new testament only I was fine with that and I appreciated that. Its like Todd was the one to go to, to get the job done or should I say make something happen. everything they didnt have that I asked for Todd made sure I got what I needed.
Just spent 2 1/2 days at St. Francis Hospital. My Nursing care was absolutely top notch. They all were extremely professional and caring. My ER nurse did her job with ultimate ability. All 110%+.(Only complaint was with the food, which had nothing to do with my personal care). I am not sure what other patients expect from a hospital, but St. F. is among the better ones.
We have had nothing but horrible experiences with St. Francis. The ER staff are the rudest people I have ever seen in my life. My husband was a cancer patient and we went to the ER with him due to him throwing up, having diarrhea, real weak, shaking real bad, the sickest he had ever been. While in the ER, he used the bathroom on himself twice by accident and threw up all over himself and was laying in the bathroom floor. He pulled the string for help but nobody came. He called me and I went in their to check on him I asked for help it took forever for someone to come help him. They finally came in there and the lady said look at you with throw up all over yourself. He told her sorry and that he couldnt help it. Long story short I called to file a complaint, they took all the details and never called me back.
This would be a real good place for a hospital. My mom has been here 6 days now the nurses are hit or miss most of them are miss. We had one named Fabrezza who shouldnt even be a nurse at all absolutely no bedside manner could not figure out how to use the IV machines no one communicates with anyone else. The supposed administration walks around to listen to your concerns and when you tell them your concerns they do nothing about it.I highly suggest if you have a friend or relative that has to stay in this hospital you stay with them to make sure they get some form of care
My mother had surgery which went great! After she was moved to a room however, it was downhill. First of all it was hours before they hooked her IV back up, needed for antibiotics. It took me asking a few times and several hours before they started her pain management. They forgot to feed her dinner. Shes a diabetic! Hours went by with no one checking on her. She had drains and the tech didnt even know. They were suppose to get her up to walk, never happened. Then they forgot to feed her lunch. Again, Diabetic! Not sure whats going on there but they have no communication.
My wife and I cant praise SF hospital enough. We basically had a walk in labor and it was one of the best experiences Ive ever had at a hospital. Keep up all the good work at labor and delivery. Big big shout out to Bridgette the RN and Melissa the midwife. Also Joy the midwife. Theyre living Angels.
Id say I loved it but I do not like going to the hospital at all. I am 33 pregnant and have had to make three trips to the ER thus far, once was on Thanksgiving. My physicians and midwives partner with St. Francis so that was my chosen ER. I had as good experience as one could have in the ER. It was fairly quick, people were nice and polite so bedside manner was great! They coordinated my testing so I was done with testing and the main portion of my time there, overall about three hours, was in my own space, quiet and undisturbed until time to get treated and go. One time, the physician on duty actually gave me copies of my blood tests without my asking. That is a rare thing! I have to say overall, it is a good ER and I would recommend it to my family and friends.
I’ve had 7 surgeries/OR procedures in the last 2 years at St Francis and I couldn’t ask for better treatment or care. Everyone from check in to post op were very kind and caring. Dr John Adams is the best doctor I have ever had to deal with! He is very detailed and patient in answering your questions and concerns. His bedside manner is very comforting post and preop. Unlike most doctors I’ve been treated by he has a good sense of humor knows when a good laugh is appropriate. The whole staff in the Butler center are great! I’ve read several reviews complaining about the cleanliness of the hospital. From my prospective it’s a pretty clean place as hospitals go especially the Butler center. Thanks to everyone at SF especially Dr Adams for making life better!
The staff was excellent. Especially in the PCS Cardiac Care Department. Lori and Shanna were a great team. Their work ethic was prompt. As a visitor myself, they made me feel at home. Your cafeteria needs a lot of work. Cafeteria staff was very rude. Also, their customer service was false both on the menu and upon delivery. Every order from patient was either brought with an additional item or forgotten item. If he had allergies concerning food. The cafeteria staff overlooked it completely. Example sliced peaches were peaches removed from canned fruit cocktail
My wife is 41 weeks pregnant we were scheduled at 4 am to be induced we were told to get there by 3:30 and we live a hour and 30 minutes away when we pulled into the parking lot at 3:15 we received a phone call telling us her room was not available because we didn’t call a hour. Ahead of time witch we didn’t know and were never told we were supposed to do so here we sit at 3 am very tired very angry and no room this place is really terrible do not come here our experience has been nothing but negative
My husband went to the ER unable to breathe. They told him he had pleurisy. Gave him a codiene pill and sent him home. He never improved, so he went to the cardiologist there. He was assured the problem was in his lungs and definitely NOT in his heart. He continued to worsen. I took him to Piedmont and found he had congestive heart failure. He has been in the hospital almost 2 weeks with constant care. NEVER would I go back to St Francis. I am lucky my husband is not dead.
Do not go to this hospital for anything..I have been here several times for different health concerns and this hospital just doesnt respect their clients. Its employees are rude malicious and they are always trying to be little the clients in someway. Last night at the ER I recieved the worst treatment from a black American man his name starts with a J (Jarvon or something).during registration, I decided to leave because I was hurting to bad to stay longer, just waiting and out of nowhere the staff member, started yelling at me stating how i was gonna sit down and finish registration and how I wasnt leaving until I completed registration. I had to threaten to call the police.. whats worse is this hospital doesnt do anything to their employees even after complaints ..
I just had such a great experience here getting blood taken. Im very terrified of giving blood and two workers specifically, Kim and Juhanna (sp?) were so very kind and and professional and really put me at ease. I was talking a lot and they were so cool about everything and both took my blood very carefully with no issues. It feels good when people go above and beyond in health care and turned what was sure to be a bad time for me into a very pleasant 2 hours. Really impressed by them.
There is absolutely nothing that I liked about this facility or its staff. My Grandmother was neglected and mistreated. She was actually denied pain medication after being diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic lung cancer, simply because the nurse was too lazy to send for it. It took multiple requests to get her to even call the Dr. To get an order. After the first day, realizing that my Grandmothers well being obviously was not a priority to the nursing staff, I called the house supervisor and floor supervisor. I also made several complaints to the Joint Commission regarding the serious lack of appropriate care.
I took my daughter to the ER tonight. The staff there were all nice. A special shout out to Frank( very nice man) and Bill. ( so nice and funny) Ashley ( very nice) Tameka? The PA( very nice) and Tim RN( nice guy). We were there from 6:00 pm to 10:30 pm. But they did their job and we left tired but happy. I appreciated all of their great bedside manners.
The level of care is horrible. My family member coded... There was no sense of urgency, no help arrived until 5 min after the code line was called, one nurse ran to the front desk, asking the nurse at the front desk for a piece of equipment she just shrugged her shoulders and kept typing..... This happened on the urology unit. My loved one passed away that night. The pastor they have on staff is great. The nurses, not so much. Not to mention the same this happened to a friend of mines grandmother on the same unit the following week. She passed away as well.
Horrible experience as the wait time was 4.5 hours. I went in with heart issues and waited forever. Never saw a doctor. Had to go to a different hospital. I cannot believe how they handle things now. People who were hardly sick were being seen and left in 3 hours in their green track system. One lady had waited 5 hrs and left. They better not have charged my insurance for a nonvisit.Update:I was charged.
Stay away from this hospital! St Francis has the worst service of any hospital Ive ever seen. Went to the ER with my father having chest pains and pain when he breathes. He waited for over 4 hours and never saw a doctor. He told the receptionist he had waited 4 hours and she told him other people do too. He left and went home never being seen by a doctor. Another lady came in and said her father was having a stroke and NO ONE offered to help her get him out of their vehicle. This place needs a complete OVERHAUL starting at the top!
My husband is a peritoneal dialysis patient. He’s been on dialysis over a year and has been seeing a nephrologist for 5 years. I brought him to er because he had had the flu but days later very weak still and not eating/drinking. Especially dangerous for dialysis patients. He was admitted and put on the renal floor. Another on-call nephrologist ordered his dialysis schedule while here, which was no where near as aggressive as what he’s supposed to be on. Not all the proper things needed for hook up, and then they were not consistent with his dialysis schedule, so on top of already feeling bad, his body was building up with toxins. As this is going on, blood pressure is rising, tension, heart rate. Nothing is happening. We pleaded for them to get him a bag and it took 2 hours. There are no hospitals in this area for relatively healthy, young renal patients that advocate for their own care. This has been a terrible experience and to top it off, it is Christmas*I will say, the nurses are trying yet they have to follow protocol. It isn’t them. It’s the situation in whole.
I came to the ER because of extreme abdominal pain in my right side. I was admitted into OB, because at the time I was just over 20 weeks pregnant. There was something wrong with me, I knew it. I explained my pain to the nurse. I explained that I was concerned it was my appendix. I am not a doctor, however I know my body and when something is wrong. I was screaming, crying, and moaning in pain. She told me that I was just pregnant. My home hospital is Martin Army, I live closer to St. Francis. I came to St. Francis because I was in so much pain that I could not make the 20 minuet drive to Martin Army. She told me that I am not supposed to come to this hospital, and that I would be receiving a bill from tricare in the mail since this was absolutely not an emergency. She gave me an IV with so much pain medication I could barley speak. I told my husband again that there was something wrong, that he needed to go get another nurse. The nurse I had been dealing with seemed irritated that we wanted to speak with someone else. My husband asked her again, are you sure it is not her appendix? She responded by saying that there is no way it is my appendix, because if it was, I would be screaming in pain. Like I previously mentioned, I was screaming in pain before she gave me the IV, and even then I worked so hard to communicate to her that I was still in pain. After over 2 hours of fighting with her, she finally called the Dr. She only called the Dr. because I started having contractions. When the Dr. came to see me, she listened. She was wonderful. I was sent in for a scan at 12Am, with results coming in at 2AM. I went into emergency surgery the next morning. My appendix was close to rupturing. If this would of happened, my child would more than likely be dead, and so would I. The rest of the staff did a fabulous job, however, nothing will be able to make up for how hard I had to fight to be heard. The name of the nurse who did not listen to me is Bridgett. I do not remember her last name. So please, Fight for yourself. If there is something wrong with you, and you know it, do not let a nurse send you home because she doesnt have time to deal with you.
January 22nd, 2020. Had to have a delicate procedure. It was scheduled here and performed expertly by a doctor that gave me complete confidence in his abilities. The staff I interacted with during registration, pre op, and check in were all professional and friendly and I saw sanitizer used multiple times. Nurses that took care of me during surgical prep and anesthesia were professional, courteous, friendly, in positive spirits. Julie, Candy, Chauneci, Tarsha, Brittany, Gwen and 2 other surgery nurses whose names got lost in twilight were not only efficient but also friendly. Dr Teague, the anesthesiologist, was also nice. I was nervous but had a pleasant experience.
I took my husband to the ER with high blood pressure that wouldnt go down, a horrific headache, and seeing spots. They did some test and the doctor told us that he had a sinus infection that was going into the brain. I didnt understand why they would give him antibiotics and pain medication and send him away if he had that. Later I looked at his papers and it just said he had a sinus infection. For 2 1/2 to 3 days we waited for the antibiotic to work and he was in horrific pain the whole time and couldnt eat or drink without getting sick. The pain medicine didnt help and his vision started getting worse where he couldnt even see where he was going. On the way back home, we stopped at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tn. and they did test and said that he hadnt had a sinus infection and that something serious was going on and they needed to admit him and do tests to find out what was going on. Their test showed that he had had a stroke not a sinus infection. He didnt get the help he needed in a timely fashion because of the negligence of the doctor at St Francis Hospital. Their misdiagnosis could have cost him his life and me my husband and yet all the hospital has done is hound us for the money we owe them and say that we still owe them the money even though this happened. I wouldnt want to take my dog to that ER. I kept trying to get help about the bill and kept getting lied to until they finally said they put it before review and that we still owe the money.
I recently had surgery at St Francis Hospital and I have to say this is a beautiful hospital. It is very clean and the staff I encountered were very friendly and willing to help with any questions. My Pre-op appointment was very organized and efficient and I didnt have to wait long at all. My surgery experience was as good as I could expect. The nursing staff were incredible. Very friendly and kind. They explained everything thoroughly and I just felt at ease and comfortable in their care. Dr. Borkat is a phenomenal physician and I feel very blessed to have had him in control of my health in this hospital. I highly recommend this hospital.
The emergency room staff was great. Jeramy on paramedic staff was awesome. All With the exception of one ditsy chic and the doctor. Ditsy chic didnt know where a freaking transplanted kidney is placed into the right ilia fossa. My blood work was back 3 hours before he decided to read it. I sat in severe pain for hours with a fever before they decided to get me anything. Then when I get admitted they didnt give me anything for pain, didnt order my antibiotics (which is why I was admitted) and never once tried anything to help break my fever. Never offered me food. When I got to the floor my room wasnt clean so they put me in a tiny room with no shower. So by now I am ready to leave. Then the nurse comes in and says the doctor ordered a male prostate drug for me...first of all Im a woman, second I dont have a penis or prostate. I was like wow. I am not taking that. No thanks. I thought this was a better alternative than med ctr but I was wrong. Better off driving out of this town to seek help.
Im glad this hospital just got sued for 26M in malpractice. This hospital is a hostel for lack of better words. The physicians are horrible, most of them are either DOs or achieved their MD out of country with medical schools that are a joke. Good for you St. Francis, youll be much better off going out of business instead of employing nurses, administrators and physicians that shouldnt be touching innocent patients. When I went to the ER, they told me I was fine and discharged me. My liver labs were 4 times the upper limit of normal, we were told labs were good!
This stay for my mom has been a stay in hotel hell. The incompetent actions taken in Er sent my mom into congestive heart failure. Caused her to crash and have to be placed on ventilator. She came in with blood in stool, they put her into congestive heart failure. The incompetent data entry sent this in motion. She had two separate records, records from Nov 2016, hospital stay for congested heart failure, where not found till after they had flooded her heart with iv fluids. The incompetent communication between nurses and Dr in Er failed, patient was only suppose to get 1 iv, 2 were given. The patient care stinks, my mom laid in her own urine for over 24hrs from a leaking cather, which we complained about, and was told they always hurt. No one ever offered to change her linen or give her a bath till day 4 and me throwing a fit in the PCN area. I as her daughter had to find linen myself, change and make bed, bath my mom. During this stay, they never brought her ice, I twice had to go buy 10lb bag to make sure she had some. These are just a few problems happening during this stay. Just to many to name.I suggest if have family here, stay with them or they will be ignored or their concerns will be down played. I am filing formal complaint with hospital, its parent company, our congressman, state senator, department of health and human services, our President and a final copy forwarded to her attorney. This hospital filed bankruptcy 6 months ago. Finally this hospital cares more about its pretty building, screwed up parking garage and fancy valet parking than it does its patients. This hospital use to be the BEST, now its the WORSE. Beware, go to another hospital if can !!!!!
The wait time is long, the nurses dont come and check on you and when they do they act like youre bothering them. Poor customer service. I was standing at the nurses station for like 5 minutes in front of a nurse that never acknowledged me one actually walked past me without asking have you been helped. 1 nurse came and helped me she helped me with a pleasant smile and willingness to help no matter how many times I went to her. The floors and restrooms were not clean. The lobby staff was very rude. I understand its late but this is your shift make 3rd shift work for you. Put yourself in the patients shoes off your hurting and uncomfortable you would want someone to help you and not have to wait and have nurses not check on you at least every 30 minutes. 1.5 stars.
Sadly our experience was less than professional. Being a small hospital we thought our son would receive personal attention. We were sorely mistaken. He was just another number. After a rare bilateral hip replacement his care was lacking. Soiled linens, an elevated rusted toilet seat that was wobbly, drainage tubes not checked routinely and poor communication were just for starters. He was discharged without prior warning and without proper outpatient care established leaving everyone scrambling to try and figure out what next. None of us have medical care experience and were thus left to fend for ourselves. We hope the board and staff will take this as constructive criticism and make appropriate corrections to insure future positive experiences for all.
The wait time was horrible. Six hours to be seen by a physician for my 65 yr old mother. I took her in for a blood clot in her leg that she was on meds for. Her leg was severely swolen. The front desk employees were disgusting and rude. If you dont like your job then dont work there. I advised them of her previous condition. Once in the back I observed the staff bantering about their love lives. This is pathetic and completely unacceptable.
This facility is very dirty - both the hospital and clinic waiting areas. The clinic staff seem frustrated and tired. I was in from out of town to help my mother-in-law. I had taken her to St. Francis about 5-6 years ago, but something has changed here. After experiencing the above, we left and then arranged for her further care at another facility in town (with her safety and her general well being as the priority).
The scariest ER ever. I was there the night a stabbing victim was brought in. I heard the staff cheering when they received notice that a stabbing victim was in route. One of them cheered, “Yay! It’s Christmas,” and laughed. I later found out the incident involved a fatality and these people were celebrating. I kid you not. My own experience included nurses making fun of my name—curtains aren’t sound proofed. And being doped up and left in a wheelchair in a vacant hallway completely alone, cold, and shivering. Do yourself a favor and die at home if this is your only option.
Nurse Tammy was VERY rude to my mother. we waited over 3 hours in the ER room (expected its the ER) she was having two very large kidney stones and in a lot of pain. bent over a chain for the pain, crying, laying down in chairs etc. when nurse Tammy called my mothers name she said “finally!” with a VERY painful voice. Nurse Tammy then looked at my mother and said “you can stay out here and wait longer?” what kind of nurse says that to a patient that’s obviously in pain??? As walking to our ER room Tammy scolded us that no patients were thankful for the work they do and we were ungrateful and made my mother start SOBBING. Totally unprofessional place. hope they fire Nurse Tammy S.
NIGHT MARE ON SECOND FLOOR!!!!This is by far the worst place ever to go to. My husband was admitted for colon blockage and the nurses acted like it was a burden on them if u needed anything. Then the nurse came in his room at 4:00 AM and was burping and hicuping in face while asking him questions and would not excuse herself. The first morning the surgeon stopped to speak with him about the procedure they was gonna do after dr walked out he asked 2 different nurses to ask the dr to come see him he had an important question neither one would get the dr and he was just down the hall with another pt. the nurses will not call dr for nothing even u was dying. He asked to take a shower and the nurse never let him take one, he asked for a cup of coffee and the nurse said there is no fresh coffee, waited hours after calling nurse 3 times for pain meds. They showed no remorse or sympathy what so ever he even complained to the director nurse and she said it would get better it got even worse. Had the surgery for blockage and the dr never spoke to him or me while he was in recover he was suppose to have a colonoscopy the next morning and the nurse had taken the IV out and was offering him regular food we kept explaining to her he was suppose to have colonoscopy and could not eat a regular meal she stated the dr ordered the regular meal there is so much lack of communication between doctors and staff and their patients. My husband was so upset when we asked the nurse to page or call the dr to come talk with us and she refused she stayed he can discuss his issues when the dr made his rounds which she had no idea if it would be that night or next morning. My husband got up after having surgery and walked out. He was neglected the entire time he was there. They do not believe in pts taking showers, towels are not in the room when we said something about the towels the nurse remark was this is not a SPA! and it takes 24 hours after u request for a towel to get one to be able to shower. Make u wait until pain is out of control before they give u your meds after request . NEGLECT! NEGLECT! NEGLECT! I would not send my worst enemy to this place. We now have to find another dr. He was referred by his there by his dr. He has had colon rectal cancer in the past .
First off it is disgusting, there is found and bloody gauze thats been in the transition room for our stay. Got here at 8:30pm now 1:18 am and they have done nothing for my daughter other than make her wait and an xray. After I said I was leaving the Dr. then looked at the xray. My daughter was showing signs of an appendicities. I can hear someone watching movies on their phone which I am pretty sure it was the DR. The nurses had poor demeanor other than on younger one. It seems to start with the top. They lack leadership and pride in their enviroment. Which is shameful! This is our first time at Saint Francis and I am highly disappointed. Youre better off waiting for the Drs office to open.
The doctors at St.Francis hospital saved my life. They performed a miracle doing so as I was almost gone when I got to them. They have a wonderful surgical and ICU staff. If not for them I wouldnt be here today . God bless you all at St Francis and thank you for saving my life. It has been a tough road for me but Im better than I have been in years.. I could never thank you enough for what you did and for your kindness
The ER or Emergency Department had at least 80 people waiting. One man told me he has been here for 41/2 hours! This is the worst experience my wife and I have ever had!!! Two people behind the counter talking about their personal lives?! And what is the cop here for? I wonder if anyone has ever died waiting to be admitted!!! And it smells REALLY BAD!!!
When I lived here years ago (30+) St. Francis was a premier hospital in this area. I know this next statement just might shock some of you, but I had much rather be in a VA hospital than St Francis. I have received much, much better care at the James A. Haley VA hospital in Tampa FL. Thats a fact Jack. I was cut from ankle to groin so I had a massive bandage that needed to be changed 3 to 4 times daily. I have gone all night with out it ever being touched. I woke up at 3:30 this AM and my wound dressings were soaked and coming off. Im not a happy camper.😤😤😤😤 The nurse I received the most rude and unprofessional attitude was a young lady named Shondra.
Very disheartening to see multiple nurses start IV access along with d/c IV without gloves also no hand washing. I watched as nurses picked up an urine specimen cup to do an U/A without gloves or hand washing and another nurse pick up the supplies and bedding from a patient and go to another without hand washing or gloves. This is nursing 101 along with elementary infection control. I believe this hospital maintains a poor rating for a reason.
Although the rooms are spacious, and inside it looks great ,it took so long for nurses to come see the patient I went to check on .I wont name names but I will say that many of the nurses have poor attitudes. I could hear a woman crying and throwing up while passing the nurses station and one nurse looked at the other and rolls her eyes...they just stood there. What happened to people who care about people going into the medical profession? It seems now that people do it bc the title sounds good or bc the money is good. Im appalled at how nurses and even some doctors over the years treat patients. What if it was their family members or them? I myself have cared for patients and never have I treated them how some of these ppl who are at St.Francis treated the person I visited. Its not just them the medical center needs to hire people that are more caring, empathetic, and that listen. Those are some of the things taught in our medical law and ethics classes...a class it seems many mustve forgotten. I took it many years ago and have always tried to apply it.Its a shame more people dont
Horrible Emergency Room HorribleMy Mother who is 87 years old was transported there after falling and broke her wrist and nose. My mother was stuck in a room no doctor or nurse came in. I arrived 30 minutes after she had. Nothing after waiting over 90 min I asked hello is someone going to help my mom . She is in pain. We are busy was the response. Yea laughing and joking and flirting with ambulance drivers. Really after working myself in healthcare I am shocked at their horrible service. I nor my mother go there for anything. I’m a heart patient and I go to midtown for everything and they are wonderful.
MY REVIEW IS OF THEIR EMERGENCY ROOM SERVICES.If you can, go somewhere else for emergency care. Love your family member also and get them to another ER. As a patient I felt like one of a herd of cattle being rushed through the services offered. I was branded as having a stroke and they put their stroke protocol in place. They did not listen to my past history of head injuries and seizures. They had my full history from my physician at Columbus clinic. I knew I did not have a stroke. I knew I probably had a seizure. Because I was found unconscious by family, I should have also been treated as a possible head injury with neuro checks. I was having seizures (small ones) and I did not get an EEG. I did get a brain scan. What really made me sad was the POOR, physical exam I got and the stethoscope was on my chest for less than 2 seconds. No one said breathe in. No one listened closely to my heart sounds. No one looked to see if I was having abnormal eye movements (I was). No palpation of my liver, etc. I am going to get my records and see what physical was actually charted and if an MD or PA charted a full physical they lied and will be reported. It was my first visit there and I wont be going back. Please LOVE YOU or LOVE YOUR FAMILY member and do not go to this emergency room. You do not brand people with one condition. Your assessment is ever evolving to come to a final diagnosis. The nurses were OK but said they read results of tests, not the doctor. THIS IS WRONG. Dr Hagues I saw all of 3 minutes. What a joke. Cant wait to see the bill. I wonder what I get charged for his 3 minutes of looking at me from the end of my bed. JUST AWFUL. I also called in my complaint and I have had very little to NO follow-up so trust me, they do not care about you. Go somewhere that provides super care and service. You are a consumer!
Came to ER with my mother because she fell and may have broken her ankle. We’ve been waiting for 4 1/2 hours in the waiting room. Have yet to see a doctor! People before us waited just as long or longer. Would not recommend St. Francis ER.I’ve had such good experiences for OBGYN and ENT services. But this is deplorable. 😡
I came here to get tested for HCG both in blood and urine due to a missed mensural cycle. I was dismissed and handed a paper diagnosis describing painful mensuration (I hadn’t had my cycle for two months, nor was I experiencing any pain. AT. ALL). Not only was I misdiagnosed completely, but I was also charged a whopping $800 for my visit. Upon calling to begin my payments, I was told that I would qualify for a percentage off since I do not have insurance. Four payments later, I realized the percentage I was given off had not been applied. I called to investigate, and was told there were no notes in their system and that they could only take that percentage off of the remaining balance rather than the initial one. I have no words to describe this hospital. Having also worked in a medical setting, I am greatly disappointed. Once I finish paying off this ridiculous bill, I’m washing my hands clean of this “hospital.”
Worst experience ever. Lack of concern and medical experience. My daughter was brought in by ambulance after having a seizure and blacking out. She collapsed and hit her head on the concrete creating a large gash in the back of her head. We were there 3 hours before she was given anything for nausea and the God awful headache she had. It also took 4 nurses sticking her repeatedly before they finally got an IV in her.
Let’s just say I’m not impressed with this hospital at all. I’m from the Atlanta area and this hospital is not even in the same league. Most of the nurses are ok but I have encountered a few rude and unconcerning nurses. The place is always filthy and I’ve havent seen maintenance cleaning but four times in fifteen days. No wonder people keep getting sicker and MRSA at this hospital. Now let’s talk about phone service. There is horrible phone reception in the hospital so it’s hard to give updates to family about the patient. I know they were bought out but I don’t think that has helped.
My husband had open heart surgery a week and 1/2 ago . All the nurses in CVICU were the best! Katie gets A++ she is a very caring and helpful nurse. And in P1, Gia was great also. Being a nurse is hard work and these ladies are excellent at their jobs. Thank you for all your loving care!!
Run as fast as you can, this place is awful, this is the worst hospital in Columbus, NORTHSIDE IS THE BEST. If I could give it a zero I would. However there are two 1st shift RN nurses that I must say go over and beyond Tori and Regina from the emergency room. I really hope they find another place of employment because this place is absolutely horrible and they deserve better.. This place needs to be investigated by the government the way patients are treated is wrong.
Took my grandpa here he broke his hip and arm they didn’t do tests on him, didn’t know how to handle him bruised him up even more.they wouldn’t put a cast on his arm or do give him any medicine.we had money to pay and everything but they did nothing.worst hospital I horrible service close this hospital fire all the staff.don’t go here go to any other hospital.they drew blood then threw it in a corner of the room didn’t do a single test.
Disappointed in the level of care provided for an elderly convalescing total knee replacement patient. Bed baths were not standard and had to be requested. The call-button was frequently left unanswered for unacceptably lengthy periods. The meals served for post-op patients on narcotic pain killers, was the equivalent of cement! Multiple carbohydrates and ZERO vegetables arrived in some of the vegetarian meals. When I queried the dietician as to why pasta and rice would be served in the same meal to a patient prone to constipation due to bed confinement and bowel restricting meds, she shrugged and referred me to the chef! This left me very unclear as to WHO PLANS THE MEALS for patients. The chef? The dietician? The dietician on-duty accepted no credit for meal planning.A return visit, with admission thru the ER revealed the restrooms more vile than outhouses and squatty potties! The ER restroom stunk of urine as did the second floor bathroom of the room my Mom was taken to after several unproductive hours in the ER. My report that there was paper towel in the toilet and that the basin was dirty, was ignored. Later, I was chastised for trying to flush paper towels down the toilet! I REPORTED THE PAPER TOWELS IN THE TOILET UPON ARRIVAL! HOW DARE THEY ACCUSE ME OF PUTTING THEM THERE!!!!The staff was generally pleasant, however, they appeared to not communicate with each other as no one seemed to know whether the doctor had been to see the patient or when the doctor might arrive. All but Alicia and Erika on the second floor were very frustrating.Joshua, a nurse tech, on the second floor, was excellent, as was Rebecca, who was apparently floating from floor to floor as we encountered her in two places within a 24 hour period. Miss Cleida, although pleasant, spewed complaints about her own health and seemed unhappy with her job. Patients should not be subjected to that kind of negativity.Maintenance and morale are sorely lacking at St. Francis. Its a pathetic medical facility.
Worse ER experience ever. Waited 4 hour and still had not been seen. 3 other people walked out before me because the had not been seen and was there longer than I. If you are sick go elsewhere because you will die waiting here. Would get a zero if Google would allow me to give itUpdate from 7 months ago. Still the worst ER ever.Came in with my 83 yrs old mom with possible infection from a past surgery. This was at 4:30 pm. Finally got to the RCU Rapid Care Unit at 9 pm and saw a PA. Unit should be renamed ESU Extremely Slow Unit it is now 11PM and still waiting on a diagnosis or solution to my moms condition. 11:30 PM sent for Ultrasound and once again waiting inESU. 12:45 AM need to do a CT scan. So waiting for the order to be put in.
The administration should be ashamed to carry on the St Francis name. I have never seen such terrible nursing as when I was there for seizures. Getting a nurse to come to the room was unheard of. Thank God for the techs. I laid there over 3.5 hours waiting for help with a wet diaper. After a week I was rescued and moved to Northside. I had a UTI from the shotty help at St. Francis. My roommate on dialysis went two nights with no supper. She finally called a friend who brought her supper. I had Lewis pick up her supper one night . The emergency room and ICU had great service and help. They truly saved my life. The 3rd floor nurses, 3 nurses for 18 patients, terrible. If you have to go there, have someone sitting with you full time if you want to come out of there alive!
My husband, who is a cardiac patient, went to this ER with chest pain. He sat in the waiting room for 7 hours, then when he was finally called back, he sat for almost another 2 hours waiting to be seen. This place is a joke. Its a good thing it wasnt anything very serious, he would have died in the waiting room!
I’ve dealt with this institution on several different occasions. I have never had a good experience. My most recent experience had me return for a follow up so the ENT could tell me the results of a test. The results were “no finding”. My actual time with the provider was a less than five minutes. The information I received could have been passed to me over the phone or via email, or should’ve been provided directly to my primary care provider.Instead I lost wages because I had to leave work, I had travel expenses in the form of the costs to drive to that hospital, I lost money due to the time spent waiting to see the provider, and on top of all of that I had to pay a $40 co-pay for receiving no service. Most other providers I have worked with give test results over the phone. Especially when those results are negative and don’t require another visit. This hospital has absolutely ridiculous business practices. Please do not be fooled by there claims to religious affiliation. Their business practices are not in keeping with Catholic values.
Came to the ER for antibiotics due to a sinus infection that won’t go away after 7 days of taking over the counter meds. Triage nurse was rude and told me that unless it is life or death then I needed to go to an urgent care. Unfortunately urgent cares do not accept you if you have no insurance. Which I do not have and so my best option is to be seen at the ER due to not having insurance
Unfortunately I have to give this place a one star review. I came in to the ER because my head was hurting extremely bad. The person that was at the front desk acted like she had no care in the world or even payed attention to who was in front of her. I remember specifically there was no one in there that was in pain or making any noise, it was just like a doctor’s office. It took them to see that I was asleep on the floor to call me in but before that I was vomiting. I was asleep on the floor because the cold floor was the best temporary pain reliever there was, my head felt so good on that cold hard floor. I was heaving, breathing hard, and burning up. Some the patients that were in there were looking at me. Come to find out I had a cyst in my brain and it caused me to develop Hydrocephalus. The only thing good about the situation was the medication they gave me, which was Zofran and Benadryl. Imagine a headache but thousand times worse, like your head is about to explode. I had to be transported the same night to Atlanta to get brain surgery, two to be exact. The way I was dressed and my hair all over the place, they would have known I didn’t care how I looked because I was in that much pain. I don’t recommend this hospital please go somewhere else.
ER. Doctor never bothered to see the pregnant woman with unbearable abdominal pain. There was a shift change they said. In 40 minutes after getting through the doors we took off and left as by this time our gynecologist office opened and we phoned them and they admitted and examined my wife the minute we got there. Thanks God we made it in time as she was directed to the good hospital and went through the urgent surgery right away.
I had to go to the ER last Friday (2/20/15) and as far as ER visits go it wasnt too bad, better than any other hospital I have been to in the area. They were very busy but the staff was very nice and they did all they could to get everyone situated and taken care of as quickly as possible. My only complaint was that the waiting room inside the ER is slightly small for the amount of patients they had in there and a couple times we had to stand. That was due to several family members being present with one patient. They have a sign prohibiting that but people dont listen, not necessarily the hospitals fault. I think the highlight was the guy who was taking blood samples for blood work. I absolutely hate needles and blood being drawn, I have been known to throw up from anxiety because of it. He was wonderful though- distracted me and joked around while it was being done. For once I didnt get sick! If I have to go to an ER again I would defintiely go to St. Francis.
We waited over 5 hours with my 83 year old father in law. He was dehydrated and needed iv fluids. They triaged him supposedly. I saw young people taken in before him ( who arrived after him). These folks were laughing, eating fast food, etc. They were quite obviously not in physical distress. Do not use this hospital!!!!!!!
My wife took a covid test there they mess up the test and we kept calling to get the results and they kept saying it had not come back for weeks then finally one of their employees told us the truth they threw it out after they messed it up but didnt have the moral values to call us and have her take another test now shes has a collapsed lung I wonder if they had informed us to re test would my wife be fighting for her life now! they will keep you in the emergency room for hours waiting on a bed to be admitted and get offended when you ask for information, they cant blame this on covid this was going on over two years ago before covid too, the ER walks around like they cant be bothered, if something is saintly about st francis I dont know what it is because it not care
One of the worst hospital I have had the displeasure of walking into. They are okay if you are an in and out patient or a one or two dayer. But if you are thgere for a longer period you can forget hospitality and kindness from 85 percent of the nurses.. They are short on CNA personal. That just means the nurses should be picking up the slack.. forget it. They forget kindness. She are really short and do not smile . Bed baths? Forget it. I see why the rating has gone down so low.
This is not to get Information, but to criticized your emergency room rapid care, Today 4/16/2014 Ive gone in with an excruciating pain, I explained the NP who took care of me Sarah Gay, my pain in my lower and upper back, pain in my bladder and right ovary, also that I have been diagnosed HPV, she left and came back and tell me that sounds like kidney stone, was asked what was my level of pain which at the time it was a 9, from there i was taken to this little waiting area, with others patient that were not doing good, next to me a lady that had fallen from a horse and in a lot of pain, all sitting down, and all the beds completely empty, then my stickies where lost, so i was taken to get this ct scan, and brought back to this little area with the same patients and the beds empty, my pain escalated to a 10, I asked if they order anything for my pain, and this nurse not to friendly said no, I sat back down, and all of the suddenly Ms. Tonya called me to get my insurance stuff, very nice, and courteous, when I finish with her, the nurse came back with the NP. Gay and ask if i needed something for my pain which has escalated to a 10, and I said please, so when I was going back to the waiting room area, here come the nurse with the medication, which I said it wasnt working at all, and my released papers, I looked at her and ask why was I been released without talking to a Doctor about my tests results or anything, she asked me to sign a paper without talking to anybody and she went to get the NP Gay, just to tell me that my Ct Scan was negative, my urine test was negative and my blood work was fine, which I asked what blood work, because no one draw blood from me, today was my first time been in St. Francis as a patient, and my last because no one knew what they were doing, the way they treated the patient was horrible, their estate of mind was fix then and get them out of there no compassion, no professionalism either, where ever I go I will take this horrible experience with me and i will let every one know about it, ridiculous a patient who just felt of a horse sitting in a chair who just got a morphine shot, without no supervision or no monitor.....what kind of emergency room is this? I left Marten Army Hospital thinking I was going to get better service here, but was treated awful and even worst............
I would give this hospital no stars if I could, but I cant. I waited in the waiting room to be seen for over 2.5 hours. I cant believe they call themselves a hospital. Ive never been in a waiting room that long. Any other hospital I have been to has always had a sign saying If you have been waiting longer than 30 minutes to be see let us know. I think they should put a sign saying Please check on the person left and right of you to make sure they arent dead.
NO! Turn back now...Here there be dragons! Do yourself a huge favor and dont ever set foot in this place. Never, and I mean NEVER in my life have I been to a hospital as bad as this one! Filthy, and lacking in anything even remotely resembling competence, concern or actual care. Do yourself a huge favor and go to Piedmont Columbus Regional Northside Hospital, instead....walk, crawl, cab or bus yourself over to get yourself out of the reach of St. Francis...do whatever you need to do to make it happen.I have a history of hemorrhagic stroke. Last month I was experiencing symptoms that felt as if I possibly had another stroke coming on, in addition to possible heart issues/involvement. Since Im new to the area I looked online for a hospital that is trained in stroke protocol & thats how I ended up going to St. Francis. I used to work in the medical care field, and over the past twenty - thirty years have been afflicted with chronic medical issues that have familiarized me with hospital care and protocol more than Id like. When we arrived at St. Francis ER, it took probably ten minutes for anyone to come out with or even offer a wheelchair for me after both my brother and husband went in to ask for assistance with someone who was experiencing chest pains, numbness in their jaw and shortness of breath. Once inside, they did run an initial EKG in a room off of the reception area, but they took their sweet time about doing it, and then wheeled me back into the waiting room left me sitting there for a total of four hours, with an elevated BP, splitting headache, & desperately gasping for every breath.Though I was barely able to stagger back out to the vehicle, I was determined that I was not going to die in that waiting room, so we left and went Piedmont Columbus Regional Northside Hospital where we were treated well and I was seen immediately. Do yourself the favor of going to PCRNH first and just skip St Francis altogether.
The staff was amazing. But, the billing dept is horrible. They have sent bills to collections I already paid. They sent false claims to my insurance company. My insurance had to decline it because I never even received those procedures they said I did. Not to mention the head of the billing dept is NO WHERE to be found. My advice to any first time mother is to not allow the beauty of the facility blind you. They are messy.
WORST ER Department...EVER.. Not only do you feel like you are a burden to the nurses...let me add...no one FORCED them to become nurses. They rolled their eyes at poor sick people, they treated them and me like we were gum on the bottom of their shoe. I feel like dogs got treated better on a daily basis then we did in the ER at St. Francis. It is rare that I have ever been to the hospital and I hope to God that no one has to go through what I witnessed. What happened to having nurses that cared and treated you with respect. If you dont like your career, FIND A NEW ONE. Treat people like the human beings they are.
Wow you would think as low of a rating as this place has the person in charge or the state, somebody, would have something done.. I came in because of a kidney stone.. was on the floor in pain waiting for 2 hrs before I left and now I have a MED ASSIST calling me wondering if I have the ability to pay my bill... Get your head on right. I NEVER received medical services the only thing they did was pull me in a room for 5 minutes and ask me questions. If youre charging me for that its laughable if it werent so mother freaking aggravating. And of course the people that called me couldnt give me any information other than I have a bill they couldnt even tell me how much it was for.. this place is obviously failing. Oh and the lady at the desk that night was embarrassing as a professional. Ive also been in their physical therapy section Wich was no help to me they werent even right about what I need to be treated for.
We do not live in this city but were passing through in route to another location when my husband realized hes left the cord to his CPAP machine at home and long about the same time I realized I would not be sleeping very much. Thought to check out the Respiratory Dept. to see if replacement cord could be found. No luck at all but the nurses in that E.D. helped with phone call after phone call in attempts to locate someone else that might be able to be a cord provider. Such able, concerned and thoroughly dedicated efforts commanded me to offer an awesome shout out to colleagues so often working hard and remaining unsung. Thanks so much for all you did and all you do every single day in the care of and service to others.
There are so many offices apart of St. Francis. My husband unfortunately had to be referred to a specialist here and his office employees apparently have no idea how to do their job. Im aware that services provided when it comes to more than just a visit with the provider are subject to your deductable, however when a price is given and you receive a bill which states you owe more than 300 over what you were quoted is unacceptable. I reached out to the hospitals billing department to express my concerns and what do you know the excuse I was given did nothing but put the blame on our insurance company. I have no issue paying for the services rendered, but an answer for what was added to our bill needs to be given.
For the love of God stay far away from this hospital. If you are military I urge you to go to Martin Army, especially for labor and delivery. I pray that no one has or will go through what I did in 2018. Stay away from these soulless predators disguised as Heath care professionals. The labor and delivery director is an evil puppet disguised as a Christian She should be ashamed but Ive been told this is typical behavior.*Although this happened to me a year ago, I still cant go into details. Yes, it was that bad. Still debating on whether or not to sue. I will update this review with details when Im ready. Please just RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS HOSPITAL!
Brought mother in for a blood transfusion and the ER staff was decent. The trouble all started when we got to the 2nd floor to her to room. Val (6931) was nice to start. But as the night went on when I was I sleeping an error happened and my mother ended up with blown vein. Im not saying its her fault and I understand she had other patients but at the same time pay attention to the line in which you stick so you can identify a possible blow. The next person Alan didnt really seem to care even though he was able to look me in the eye when I asked him if it was YOUR mother wouldnt you be upset? he tried to dodge the question. He tried to stick her and the vein blew. He didnt want to come back in so he sent Karen in. I guess he didnt want to be liable for another blown vein. It was only after Karen came in that the stick was successful. So yay Karen. She actually seemed to care. Val proceeded to dodge us and ride the clock till she clocked out at the end of her shift. Christie was great throughout her shift. She was kind and caring. Enjoyed her immensely. At the end of her shift Val seemed to not care at all. Very displeased with this visit. Yall need to get ya act together St Francis.
I spoke with both Wendy and Lisa at their office today. Originally I could not get an appointment until October (Dr. Dean is just that fabulous and popular). Wendy and Lisa both called me back ASAP. Wendy was trying to find something sooner and Lisa found an appointment tomorrow! They are so sweet and I have never had a bad experience.
As I write this review, 7 hours of waiting..... with 6% battery life. I submit a review sure I could check Espn or YouTube with my last little but if battery life. I just wanted to make a setting. So unless you are in visible pain they will send you to a packed waiting room where you have to remind the hey I’m still here with my heart attack that you only checked my blood pressure once and pondering why did I choose this hospital. Sure I’m tired and hungry but I expected to wait at an er but to feel like I’m a decent human being is all I ask for. Maybe even a Taco but hey just take this tube out of my arm so I can die in my bed where I belong because my dog well pay more attention then a place like this.
This was the worst hospital Ive ever seen. They are so unsanitary, the nurses all sit around and joke about how sick the patients are. One guy laughed when they found a patient dead in the waiting room. They have this room called the transitioning room it is so disgusting. They sit u in this room while u wait to be diagnosed, mean while all the rooms are open. I was terrified bc Im pregnant
I, 200% agree with the Client Services’s loudly Obnoxious, Extremely Rushed & Rude, Dishonesty and Unprofessionally Attitudes!!Reluctantly about the distance, yet needing a shoulder surgery. After leaving my home for the 3 hr drive; having made a minor error in a turn.....I courtesy called to say “I’m on the way”. The rep says “oh, we didn’t have a working system this morning and then when we did... the system had rescheduled a.m. appts to the afternoon. So I asked “Was anyone planning to contact the afternoon patients?”After an extended hold, she came back like I was in the wrong 🤨🤔. I was instructed that if I had not reached the office within a 15 mins grace period that I would need to reschedule.Later and in view of the Hospital :I called to verify the Suite # & instead of a simple answer, I endured an EVEN MORE MENACING threatening of no treatment if I was not there within 4 mins. Come on: 3 hr drive and an unimaginative Shoulder injury.
After 2 previous ER visits to a different hospital for back pain with nothing done, my other half went to St Francis ER where they did a CT scan and found he had an infection on his spine. He had emergency surgery and spent almost 2 weeks there and every person we dealt with during that time was great.
The communication in the surgery department is awful. Everything from physically misplacing patients to double booking surgeons. Lack of communication to the family. The ER level of care is some of the worst I have ever encountered. 8.5 hours to see a doctor. Incomplete care and conflicting information while being yo-yoed about admittance to the hospital. Sent home without any improvement in condition, as a matter of fact condition was worse.
As a military family for over 25 years, we lived almost everywhere we have never experienced such rudeness and unprofessionalism. St. Francis staff at Dr.Reinaldo Verson’s office is the worst!! Patients we recording Gorge screening at a elderly woman until I stepped up and asked if he was aware of elderly abuse!! Dr. Verson allows his staff to do anything, I spoke with him several times about the rudeness of his staff and he simply replied he doesn’t hire or fire them contact St.Francis! I’ve called St. Francis several times no response.. I contacted Tricare it’s been so many complaints from Military families the process has begun to blacklist this office!!
First and last time here.Never seen any hospital so dirty and old looking. I have seen no sign of a Dr and I been here in the back for 3 hours. All tho the Dr did vinley come back it took forever. The staff is friendly but I have seen cleaner in Chihuahua Mexico. Dirty floors , dirty walls, looked to be blood on a curtain. All of it is just nasty.... Now Im afarid that I now have some kind of cuddies for being back in the back. The state needs to come in for real. Only hospital I have ever seen in this shape.1-2 stars if that. Maybe one and a half.My nurse Amanda was kinda hot tho ....:)
I had my son on the 16th and didnt leave the hospital until three days later because their social worker at the hospital called defax on me due to not having all my medical records and to think about nothing came out of that Ihavent heard anything from the defax woer since, but that was the delay from the state I was coming from. Some of the staff was okay, the food was horrible and I didnt even get the certificate of birth with my sons footprints on it which was very odd due to the fact that I watched the lady do it after he was born. Please if you can help it have your little angels somewhere else.
My elderly husband was in ER 12 hours before being admitted, I watched a roach walking around the sink hunting for something, nasty. The Physician was dirty, Lab coat dirty, did not understand his language. The staff on the floor was very inconsiderate, had to be seen by Hospitalist not our Regular doctor. Since it was bought out and several top cats fired it has gone down further. It should be closed.
Dr. Greg Sfakianos is the only gynecologic oncologist in Columbus and the surrounding areas. He used a Davinci robot to perform my complete hysterectomy. I could walk the next day! He has his own Chemo Suite and his nurses and staff are highly skilled, professional, and kind. I feel blessed to be under their care.
I will give them a 0 start, but since its not possible had to give them 1. Horrible service at the Emergency Room. Went at 12pm and still by 8pm havent seen a dr or medications given. The only person that moved fast was the one to charge the deductible. If you are sick stay away from here for your own health. Last time I step foot in this denigrating emergency room with the worst customer service!!!
This is the very best hospital in the Columbus GA area. Very knowledgeable staff and clean... A hospital that is clean unlike the other two.. One being a government style like Piedmont and the one call Doctors is a joke.. Glad St. Francis is here... I will not go to one of the others. St. Francis staff saved my life in 2010 and I am so grateful that they did.
My wife had FOUR doctors from the ER tell her she had a broken knee. Even showed her the xrays. We go to the orthopaedic surgeon and pay 113 out of pocket for her to say yea four doctors said it was broken but i dont think its broken STUPIDEST orthopedic ive EVER seen. I feel 6 levels dumber listening to her. She proceeds to tell me she will get my wife an MRI appointment. Needless to say we arent paying thousands out of pocket for something we already know is broken. So now we are sitting at home with a broken knee. Nvm the fact that shes in a temp cast. They just wanted more money is Why they wanted an MRI ..but she said the xrays were normal when she seen them with her own eyes when a doctor showed her .St Francis only cares about MONEY!
Absolute worst care in labor and delivery. Bullied, fear mongered, treated rudely all bc of a choice to not get eye goop in babies eyes. Be prepared, if you have to give birth here, to do exactly what they want, and not what you want or they will treat you the same way. I am utterly disgusted with their treatment during what should have been a happy and peaceful experience.
I went to the er. This was the worst experience you can have. They have nurses on staff that doesnt know how to discharge a patient on first shift (they had to go get the administrat to do the paperwork which took 2 hours). Once we get the discharge paperwork everything wasnt there which took another hour. St. Francis really need to re-evaluate there employees and their system because it SUCKS!!!!!!
DO NOT GO HERE! The doctors do NOT care about patient well-being. I went to this hospital for a spider bite on my foot, the doctors did not believe it was a spider bite and proceeded to order expensive imaging tests on my foot to build up a huge bill and make it as expensive as possible. Unbelieveable malpractice going on at this place, they are judgemental that everyone who comes there is a drug addict, they do not listen to patients, this place is HORRIBLE
St. Francis ER is HORRIBLE. My father had a fractured spine. The drs diagnosed him with sciatica. A few hours later another radiologist read his X-rays and discovered he had a compression fracture of the L5 vertebrae. We had not realized that my father had this fracture for an entire week. The only way we discovered it was because my father was being referred to Regional Rehab for treatment because the sciatica wasnt going away. A representative from Regional Rehab looked at my fathers medical records and discovered that he actually had fractured his spine. He almost went an entire week without knowing that his spine was fractured. When I finally got the medical records to figure out what happened, The medical records were horribly written super vague and said called home. The documentation did not include what number they called, who they spoke with, or anything else but called home . Ive called the hospital about this and have gotten no answers. People there do not respond. I am very angry!!!
I thought I would share the email I sent to St. Frances Hospital just a few moments ago......I am extremely disappointing in the medical staff, nurses and doctors, that Cared for my mother during her recent stay at your facility. My mother has cirrhosis of the liver and is number 9 on the transplant list at UAB. Due to her illness she is in and out of the hospital. It seems that each time she has been admitted the care just gets worse. Last September the staff was wonderful. I do not know what changes have been made since then but its obvious that its not for the positive. My mother was violated by a man who sat in front of her door for hours exposing herself. Check the police report if you would like to see it. She was on the 3rd floor room 301 June 26-28. Not only that..She was screaming in pain from muscle cramps and asked one nurse to please rub her legs. The nurse said Im sorry and walked out of the room. Another nurse treated her as if she would catch something simply by touching her and reluctantly touched my mothers leg with two fingers and rubbed in a circular motion so lightly that my mother couldnt feel it. When my mother asked her to apply more pressure she ignored her. I will NEVER take my mother to Saint Frances again. I would much rather travel three hours to UAB where the doctors and nurses actually care!If you have any questions PLEASE feel free to call me @ home 334-XXX-XXXX or my cell 209-XXX-XXXX. I would love to hear the reasoning behind the negligence.
Ver,y, very mediocre service!!!Went in early yesterday morning to be seen for a really uncomplicated thing but this is after not sleeping for two nights and didnt want to wait around for primary cares office to open. Keith Banks was the attending PA. I think he thinks him wearing a white coat gives him authority to condescendingly lecture his patients on their choice of where to go for care. The emergency room was empty, there werent many patients there to be seen, so one would think he wouldnt be complaining. No. He went into a lengthy conversation of me going to my primary care and kept badgering me as to why I didnt go there. I politely told him I wanted to be treated now and they werent opened as yet! To which he looked as his watch and said well theyre open now! I said ok, would you like me to leave and go? You do know Im paying for this visit right? I have insurance and Im not begging a visit!! Let me tell you something Mr Banks, youre in the service industry! Without patients for you to see, you wouldnt be wearing your little white coat! Learn some bedside manner! Next time, you wont get a patient whos polite as I am. Sacred Heart Hispital, please provide him with some customer service training because right now he thinks hes god and thinks were living under dictatorship. I have never had such disrespect given to me by someones whos supposed to try and do everything to make people better. Mt Banks, youre a disgrace to the profession! I know your job can be difficult but I say in that chair for at least 8 minutes listening to you talk down to me about a choice I made to visit the ER. It never once occurred to you that I hadnt even said much of anything because youre so self absorbed. I have a sister whos a PA and another whos an RN, graduating on Sunday as a PA as well. I came for an early morning visit because I had to catch a flight to NJ. Maybe do a little less talking and more listening.
They helped my husbands life when he had major issues with his type 1 diabeties. And December 2016 my life was literally saved when I had massive 100% blocked LAD heart attack. The Ashley nurses (more then 1 Ashley), Er doctor and espically ALL the nurses and Dr. Shah who are absolutely the most awesome and groovest people ever. Plus the ICU staff, the PCS room/floor staff,The lab techs, services dept, nutritionists (bringing that grub), and well EVERYONE. They will forever be in my heart (okay slight pun intended) THANK YOU!
Went to get my back looked at... Told them I need MRI. X-ray is waste of my time. When they bought me back for x-rays I told them no. So I paid 180 copay plus whatever they plan to charge the insurance to get my vitals and questionnaire and sit in waiting room 4 2 hrs. I asked how Im supposed to get my money back. They luaghed... When u realize your a part of the healthcare problem... lets see what happens monday
The horrible place to have your babies, the staff took a bottle out of the trash an feed it to my baby, because it was still in a HR of me feeding my son. He ate an went to sleep an I knew that he would be sleeping past an HR, so I threw it away. Went to the restroom, my baby start crying hard so I called the nurse to tend to him while I was in the bathroom, with the door closed. I new they did it because I had just threw it away about ten minutes before an nothing was in the trash but a couple of things. When I got until walk I threw the milk box away an realize the bottle wasnt in the trash!!!! OMG they didnt do that!! Ive cried about it an Im so upset I have one day left in this hell hole. My poor baby is innocent, how could they do this.
Overall the services at this hospital as far as nurses, General Staff, and doctors are first-rate. sadly I cant say the same about their billing. they often make stupid little unthinking errors that results in your insurances not paying off. then the hospital keeps trying to bill you for their errors to the point they send you to a collection agency.about two years my mother had two procedures done outpatient. she had a bone density scan done for osteoporosis, and a mammogram done. the hospital should have put two diagnosis codes on the claim to Medicare one each for two procedures done. they only listed the diagnosis code for the mammogram. They rejected the bone density test procedure since it didnt have a matching diagnostic code. I went around and around trying to get them to fix this both talking to staff and management for about 3 months to get them to refile with Medicare a corrected claim. I wound up filing a complaint against them with the state of Georgia consumer protection office. The really stupid part in all this then I phoned Medicare is they said they would have paid the claim off fully if only the hospital would have filled it properly. I finally filled a grievance against them with the BBB and got a call from a hospital bigshot the very next day and all was fixed. BTW: They finally filled a correction with Medicare six months later.Forward two years and mother is in this same hospital for nine days. After she gets out all of a sudden her secondary insurance (Tricare for Life) is not paying off on any claims peroid. I call them and was told the hospital told them she had other primary insurance other than Medicare. She is 78 years old now and Medicare has always been her one and only primary insurance. Tricare was waiting for a nonexistent primary insurance to pay before they would pickup as secondary. I first noticed this error then she started getting tons of bills for ambulance charges then Tricare stopped paying. The key point in all this is check all your hospital and other bills with a fine toothed comb. It only takes one small error or slip-up to get you buried in tons of unnecessary bills.
I had a daughter who worked there. She was treated Poorly cause of how she Done her job. She came home crying cause her supervisor said she was ambushing him. They lied on her and after putting up with the mess she tried talking to the CEO the CEO never wanted her to come in try to talk he always wanted her call back and fourth. My daughter finally gave up and put her two week notice end and when she saw that her supervisor lead took her off the schedule she was even more suprise about that she didnt work her full term so I had her to call and see why they didnt bother to call her back and see what happen.if I knew my daughter was going thru all of this then I would sue for discrimination and harassment. Life point wasnt no help either she call and they would tell her to call back in a month. Why yall couldnt just transferred my daughter to another department when she ask several times. But dont worry they will be hearing from my lawyer soon.
While checking hospitals in the area to check on a loved one. BARBARA from the EMERGENCY ROOM answered, I clearly identified myself, told her i was looking for a loved one and asked if they were there. Barbara literally laughed and said hold on. I literally held on for 10 minutes. This is really sad for a hospital EMERGENCY ROOM to have staff that laughs at others in their time of concern. As a first responder myself, I have never seen this behavior in any of the EMERGENCY ROOMS I had the pleasure of working with. BARBARA sounded like a middle-aged black female. This is important because, I really hope the hospital leadership speak with this young lady and hopefully retrain her. The two other individuals that answered the phone, prior to them transferring me to the EMERGENCY ROOMS-NURSING station were extremely professional.
Billing department is horrible, well not the representatives who do customer service, but the supervisor over the medical group billing department. She will be in her office and refuse to take a call or tell them to send it to voicemail and never get back to you. They do not assist their staff with patient calls when they need it and simply do not care about the patients overall experience.
This is the best Hospital i have ever been in my cousin was her from Aug 30 2019 through sept 1 2019 she passed away sept 1 at this place in Icu the staff was so nice. they explained everything on grounds that we could understand our family members problem, and they dont everything human possìble to save my loved one but it wasnt meant for her to stay but i would recommend this hospital over any one i have ever used. thanks you nice ppl that worked in this time frame at the ICU CARDIOVASCULAR AND HELP MY FAMILY AND OUR SICK LOVED ONE
The medical / rehab part of St Francis is great. The wait times on appointments can be a little long but I guess it is what it is. The portion of St Francis that is absolutely HORRIBLE is their billing. For some reason, even though you have to confirm your vital information (address, insurance, DOB, etc) each and every visit, they still cant seem to send the bills to the proper address. Today was the fourth time I talked to someone from their billing office trying to sort these things out.Is it any wonder why they have lost 30 million dollars as was reported by the media?
The staff is so rude this hospital is so bad never seen such nasty people in a hospital before she came in and is getting worse stop breathing at one point wouldnt feed her throw the food on the table and walk away nurses made inappropriate death jokes in front of her and one nurse went on a rant about how women will never beat a man at anything head nurse was rude they kept pushing on and on almost trying to pressure us to give up on her seems to me they have gave up on her my grandmother was alert talking and herself until she was put on pcs supervisor was nasty also making inappropriate comments was to busy flirting with nurses making jokes to busy chatting on the cell phones and computers she was unplugged from machines for an hour had to ask HEATH to plug her up since she has been getting worse while on this floor !! DONT BRING your loved ones here they dont care for the patients!! Its sad Im disgusted how we were treated by staff totally unprofessional!! Absolutely hate this place will be talking to administrators tomorrow with these issues
Been here 5 hours no treatment. When saw the doctor after 2 hrs said my husband had CHF with possible heart attack in next couple of weeks after 3 more hours still no treatment everyone treated him as an inconvenience including the doctor . Left to see his heart doctor in the morning.
Ive been here for almost 8 hours and I have not talked to a Doctor about my condition. Never come here unless its through a ambulance and its a absolute emergency.Whoever is in charge of this place must feel immune to lawsuits, because almost everyone here feels neglected.
The staff are nice and decently professional, but the place seems to only want your money. After that company out of state bought them, they should have taken the St. out of the name. I would be very wary about going. I wish hospitals were held to higher standards than this.
Chapter 1Well, I’m praying for this establishment because they are horrible on the second floor of the hospital rooms. The only reason I agree with one star is because of how noise the case manager Mary was. And that had to do with HOME CARE needs. NOTHING to do with actual hospital care or should I just say St. Francis care. Because the are NOT performing like a hospital.
I went there sat 10pm I was there til 4am sun am they did a urine sample and xray diagnosed me with UTI and sent me on my way no fluids or antionitics I had 2 go 2 another hospital sun bc symptoms got so bad the other hospital diagnosed me with a severe uti and kidney infection and treated me if I hadnt gone 2 other hospital it couldve killed me bc it was on its way 2 my bloodstream quickly!!!! I wouldnt recommend this hospital 4 my dog!!!!
My husband and I waited 8 hours with him having chest pains and problems breathing before we finally walked out!! We watched the waiting room fill up and empty twice before we left. Very sad how his situation was handled. Every time asking how long it would be they would just blow us off with some bs answer. If I could give zero stars I would for sure!!
I accompanied a friend to the Energency Department today for suspected diabetic ketoacidosis. We were sent there from an Acute Care facility which had even called ahead. My friend received no treatment what so ever for FOUR HOURS. Weak, fatigued, and very ill, he was required to walk from place to place numerous times, not for procedures but to wait and wait and wait some more. A terrible, terrible experience!
Dreadful experience. the care in the ER was non-existent. I arrived by ambulance non-responsive into the ER. Left on a guerny for11 hours before being admitted to the hospital. nursing care in the ER was non-existent and not much better on the floor. I requested a new nurse in the ER. I will never return to this hospital.
Find somewhere else to go if you have an emergency. You get shuffled around like cattle, nurses go on lunch and just leave you there without notifying anyone. The doctor doesnt look at your injury, and they do not have a radiologist to read the films. Totally unacceptable.
My grandmother was admitted to this hospital, very sick, and half of the doctors that should have been seeing her did not even know she was there until the 3rd day of her stay. Needless to say we transfered her to another hospital. I would not bring my pet to this hospital. Would give this hospital zero stars but they didnt kill her when she walked in the door so they get one.
Buyer beware! The Physical Therapy department charges for every 15 minutes $119.75! AND a 5 minute evaluation of $327.50!! Also, they invoice you once per month, so you dont find this out until you get a surprise statement in the mail. When we called to question the high fees, we were told that since Life Point purchased them, they started charging these excessive fees and are within their guidelines to do so. What a rip off! Checked with Houston Clinic and they are $106 per HOUR for PT!

2022-03-06My 82 year old mother was taken to St. Francis from a rehabilitation center because she had what they said was a bowel obstruction. She was in the emergency room for 24 hours before they got her a room. The hospital was filthy, urine sample left from another patient in my mom’s cubicle, floor sticky and dirty, paper tissue on the floor. I had to go ask for help getting my mom up on the bed because her feet where off the bed. I asked a nurse twice about information. She said she couldn’t get the doctor to call her back. Once we got in a room it was better. The next day my brother tried to take my 87 year old dad to see my mom. He was told that since my dad had an electric wheel chair he could find his own way. Once he called the nurses station he was allowed to go up and help my dad.

2022-07-15St. Francis has been absolutely amazing for me and my family. We have always received the highest level of care. It didn’t matter if it were a routine visit or a life saving surgery. The providers and staff consistently exceeded my expectations.

2022-06-15Staff was friendly and professional. My gripe is after surgery I was discharged and told They couldn’t send my pain med prescription to the pharmacy and that it had to be taken in person. Fine, but why wasn’t this given to my spouse who was waiting in the room with me for quite a while waiting for me in the recovery room so she could have went and had it filled while waiting, or, why wasn’t it filled at the in hospital pharmacy? So we go to the in hospital pharmacy on our way out but they couldn’t find my insurance in their system. Really? I just had surgery there and they had all my information. So instead I was forced to go to my regular pharmacy and wait for hours to get pain medication that was quickly wearing off. Very dysfunctional system.

2022-04-19I was referred to be at ENT. Overall service was terrible.Changed my doctor without talk to me and notified me with text 1day before appointment. Made me wait in the hall way while examine room is being ready??? (whatever else is the reason). I was the only one sitting in hallway. Makes me wonder why. When I finally see the Dr. Clinic didnt have my file ready. I had to pay for my co pay for nothing and waisted time. Now I have to wait 5 more weeks to see Dr. Again.

2022-07-15St Francis is not only the place I work at, but it’s also the place I gave birth to my daughter this March. It has been a great experience to not only be a patient, but also an employee at a great hospital. In both experiences I am/was treated great and the people here make you feel apart of a family.

2022-06-18The worst customer service ive EVER received !Now the clerk Caucasian lady at the emergency room she was so patient and professional and was very helpful.I went to the emergency room two days ago because Ive been having sharp pains on my left arm due to a birth control reaction. I havent been able to get into my primary care provider because ever since covid appointments have been pushed out for at least 30 days but I work so I never really can get the time off to go get this procedure done. I went to the emergency room because I was in so much pain with my arm. The doctor refused to remove my explanon birth control out of my arm when it literally takes 10mins to remove! . Then gave me a piece of paper of a person in town who does it of which that person I called they dont have any available appointments until two months out. This is the only hospital that I know that will deny you and will try to sit here and tell you that what youre being seen for in the doctors office is not important. How are you a doctor and will sit here and act like my pains and concerns are unimportant. I do not recommend this hospital to ANYBODY! THIS DOCTOR WAS LAZY AND DID NOT WANT TO DO IT WHEN HE COULD HAVE !

2022-05-06From a career standpoint, this place was less than impressive. On the website they have a “recruiter” listed as well as her number. We had some communication back and forth and I ended up with an interview for a PRN contract. The ER staff that I interviewed with were short, curt, and again, less than impressive. It lasted a whole of maybe 3 minutes? Didnt ask me much, told me nothing about the facility and nothing about themselves. Come to find out a nurse I was working with at a different hospital on a travel job comes from St Francis Columbus and says in ER they’ll slam you with 6-7 patients each 😨 sounds like a good way to lose your license! Never heard back from ER staff and although I tried to communicate with “recruiter” again, I never heard back from her either. If you’re a nurse… RUN. Run far far away 😂

2022-05-11Absolutely the worst hospital ever, while my aunt was in CVIC, she had stool stuck on her from her right leg down. Stool stuck on her bottom as well as a stool soaked pad under her. When I mentioned this to the nurses, they called security, BEN who seems to have a come issues, I think he hot picked on alit in school, he was very rude and obnoxious, someone like that shouldnt be in security, lord I would hate if he became an officer with a gun. I feel like as long as you dont complain about the issues you see, you wl be ok. Lord I wouldnt want my DEAD DOG being treated at that hospital.

2022-04-01I have never once been so petty enough to come on here and leave a bad review but today I am! My nana needed emergency care and they had us wait 6 hours before actually acknowledging her and then 4 more hours waiting to be checked out! The staff is lazy and a lot sit there and ignore you when you ask for help! I am beyond disappointed to see that medical health professionals aren’t treating patients with care like this!
