Literally sat in the drive thru for 30 minutes with only 1 car in front of me. This is absolutely the worst Steak ‘n Shake I’ve ever been to! They should consider closing it down and training employees. There’s absolutely no reason for drive thru time to be that show.
Hate leaving bad reviews, especially because I work in the restaurant industry and know the struggles. One thing you cant do, however, is waste and disrespect a guests time...Waited in drive thru for 30 minutes before being told the restaurant was closed....and once I checked the hours and time I realize they closed 10 minutes early at the point of me being told they just closed. You can cut the line off and let us know we cant be served, but making us wait 30 minutes is the worst possible example of customer service.
Yea do yourself a favor read comments. I gave the benefit of the doubt. But being honest, how do you mess up 2 orders. That’s your 18 dollar meal. Should’ve gone to Burger King, at least you get what you pay since. just because minimum wage went up should mean better not worse. Just shut it down.
This is the first steak n shake I have eaten at where the food was just awful. My nephew ordered a BBQ bacon steak burger all the way minus diced onions combo with LG onion rings and LG oreo cream shake. ( meat(very dry) cheese and BBQ sauce was only on the burger oh and fried diced onion came in a cup on the side) I Just ordered a bacon cheeseburger combo all the way with large onion rings.( got that right but meat once again very dry.) We both received a med onion ring. Only thing that was decent was the milkshakes. Not worth the $40 I payed. We will never eat again at this restaurant.I gave the 3.3 star raiting the benefit of a doubt because never have had food like this from any steak and shake we have went to. Next time I will not question ratings again. Very unsatisfied customers!
Just avoid coming, took over 30 minutes to get 1 combo with 2 cars in front of me. This is not fast food. They even got my drink wrong 😂 10 people inside and 8 of them were just standing, 3 without an uniform. This location will close if management doesn’t change. Im sorry for those who are going to lose their job, this is not fair.
The service is garbage. I tried asking the cook a question cause I literally couldnt get anyone elses attention. The cook told me he doesnt speak any English, I believed him at first until I heard him speak English to his coworkers. The coke syrup was out and the sprite was completely broke. Who knows what other drinks were out. I didnt check.
Every time I come during normal hours they are closed even though there are workers inside. Its 730 on a Sunday and they say they are closed but all the workers are sitting by the trash can smoking with their uniforms on staring at all the people pulling up in drive thru. This is the norm everytime I go to this location. There is no accountability for anything at this location
My burger was soooo good. Usually when we go it’s okay. But this time everything was good. I could do without the fries.Next time I will opt for onion rings. The Chilli was editable lol. But my burger was seasoned well and made just right. Waitress was nice no wait time.Meal was $4 and some change.
Now I don’t mind always waiting long due to long lines, but if I wait ten minutes for a shake it can at a minimum be a FULL shake. Also o usually like to drink my shake NOT have to eat it with a spoon. It sat for another ten minutes just to melt enough for me to still have to use a spoon. Twenty minutes to enjoy a shake, or should I say my ice cream.
I usually like coming here but tonight 1/5/22. No cars were in the drive thru and they said no orders due to short staffed and it’s 11:25. I don’t know who’s working tonight but that is a poor excuse. I’ve been here when another guy running the window and he was short staffed and still did the best he could. This doesn’t look good for the franchise.
I literally waited 30 minutes in the Drive-thru and no one greeted me. I called the store to see if they were open and they said they are. The gentleman on the phone said they are short staffed, which is fine I get it Covid. I work in the food industry so I understand. I mad that they don’t let the people in the drive-thru know what is going on and I could gone somewhere else. Not professional at all.
Very rude staff. Didn’t listen to my order, got it wrong in multiple different ways and when I asked about a shake he was extremely rude I’m saying he was not going to make any more. This was an hour and a half before they closed. Seriously bad service. My fiancé tried to use the restroom and got yelled at. If I could give you a 0 I would but that’s not possible so I give you a 1.
This place is the pits. I really dont know why I keep going back.. I mean, the food is delicious, but the service SUCKS! Ive always either experienced extremely long drive-thru wait times anywhere between 20 - 45 minutes.. sometimes the Sprite is just carbonated water (no syrup), and I always order a milkshake, but why do they only have these tiny straws to drink from? Also, why would you not have napkins when you know your food is so greasy? Dont get me wrong, I love the food and milkshakes, but I love a good customer experience too and thats exactly where theyre lacking. 1 star because you can get better food and service somewhere else.
Ordered a pattymelt with onion rings.It is so full of greese that it drips..ugh...had to pat it off with napkins before I had to give it away and the onion rings was cold. They replaced my onion rings which were alot better.Noticed a young man who was working at the bread station kept going in & out with food handler gloves on. When coming back in he was NOT changing his gloves before touching the food again.There was another man who was asked to get the chicken tenders out of the freezer which was not covered as he brought them out (these were not in a frozen bag-they where in a container with no lid) nor was he wearing food handler gloves.When going to pay I looked around for the Health score. It was not posted on the wall for all to see. I asked where it was. The person checking me out picked up a frame from the desk and flashed it real quick and set it back down.
10/29/19Updated review...Still bad service.... I came in at 3.45 to order a Burger and a shake... And 30 mins later I had to yell at them to get my food ... The cashier didnt jnow how to work the register yet again. .. Seems like all the workers are here just to socialize and not work... Needs lots of improvement.took for ever Nd TAVANTE G did not even know how to ring up the stuff and had to refund payments on two of my cars.. not happy at all and look at my lettuce.... tf?.
Food was really good. Service was ok. We came in with 8 and we were perfectly ok with waiting. One of the servers (the best in the restaurant Id assume cause he was serving bussing and seating and running food) identified our server and place to sit. He said that it would be cleaned in a moment and we could be sat. The server was told and she still didnt clean the tables. She cleaned only after the gentleman began cleaning did she and he cleaned most of it. She was good as far as serving went. Didnt refill drinks but the hot cocoa was good and she was sweet. The food came out quickly as well. Maybe some more workers would be good.
The cook wasnt the most friendly. We were told we could place a take out order and pick it up. Several people had just walked out and told us to use the kiosk. However when we walked in the cook said harshly drive thru only. To make a long story short we got 2 milkshakes after the manager told him we could order rather than going out to just go through the long drive thru line.
Service was extremely quick, which was surprising to me; even with medium sized group like ours. Whenever I go to steak and shake I expect a long wait usually. Food is usually on point too. I got the cocoa Krispies milkshake and it was amazing. I would definitely get it again if I come back any time soon, and I recommend it to cereal lovers.
SLOWEST DRIVE THROUGH EVER. I would give this place -5 stars if I could. Whoever manages this place is a loser. They should completely change the staff or just close this place down. I was so disappointed I feel like I’ll never go to Steak ‘n Shake ever again at any location.
Friday afternoon. Only drive-thru open. Got in line about 1:50 PM. Ordered just before 2 PM. Two burgers, one french fry, and two milkshakes. Nothing fancy.Was now the third vehicle waiting for food. Pick-up truck behind me left the line and drove off after ordering and waiting too long. Finally received my food at 2:30 PM.First drink came about 5 minutes later and was not what we ordered. When brought to the staffs attention, they acted like we were trying to get something for free. Showed them our paid receipt and 5 minutes later, with now-cold food, finally received the correct 2 drinks. Entire process took over 50 minutes.I understand that staffing is a real problem for all restaurants now, but this was ridiculous. .. and unacceptable. The staff seemed to be trying, but really didnt know what they were doing.
..Steak and Shake...smh..the food was nice and hot I give them that..but the wrapping that the burgers come in is so cheap..the grease bled through the wrapper and the bag and onto my console..when I tell you I could have used all that grease to replace my carmex lip balm..Im not lying..and when did the fries go from shoe string fries to thread fries. Then I had no napkins in the bag...really. I was just hungry and thats why I stopped..gotta do a better job eating before I leave the house!
This locations food is always fresh. The orders are always correct. The customer service is absolutely pleasant. But they have the longest wait-time of any fast-food drive-thru that Ive experienced in the area or beyond...no matter what time of day it is.Thats the only reason I give them 4.5 stars and not 5.
Went Drive-thru and ordered 2 milkshakes. 1 regular side by side strawberry & banana. 1 regular Red velvet shake. We paid and were asked to pull up behind another truck already waiting for their food.After 5 mins the server comes out and apologizes because she doesnt know which is which shake.One-third of the way trying to drink my milkshake I realize somethings keeps getting stuck. I though it was the cherry but it ended up being 2 huge slices of strawberries. Halfway through the same thing happens. this time its huge chunks of bananas. I scrape the bottom of the cup and up lifts more chunks of banana that werent properly blended. I already dont go there for the food. I guess its time to stop going for the shakes as well.
Waited a total of 34 minutes. Oct 31st at 3:00pm . Of that 17 minutes were before someone spoke to me at the callbox... I love steak and shake but definitely wont go to this location ever again...theres a nice wendys right beside here thats much quicker if youre in a rush
At one time they were on point with the food etc. now they have gone to the slumps. On today, 8/6/21, the fries were not done. It was as though they dropped them in the grease and pulled them back out. And when I called all the manager said was I will replace it. It should have been how did you pay we will refund your money.
I was a little disappointed that one night before closing in drive thru, not only were they busy as hell, which is fine if you are getting through the cars at a reasonable pace. It took half an hr just to order, and another half to get it. I ordered 1 Cajun Burger and one recess shake extra chocolate. They obviously made the shake way before I got it because it was already pretty melted, which still would have been fine, but then there was no extra chocolate! Lol seems like yall need to get more people around midnight.
Food was good, service was Terrible. They pulled us up to wait along with 4 other cars. When the employee brought the food for 4 people out in 1 bag, I asked was that everything and she said yea, if its not its another bag in there. I looked and it only had 3 orders of fries and the kids meal burger she went back to get the rest and had a nonchalant attitude the entire time.
This place has been inconsistent for as long as weve lived here, but tonight they managed to serve me a Cookie Dough milkshake without a single piece of cookie dough in it. Just say you cant make it rather than charge me a specialty shake price for a Vanilla shake with chocolate chips.
Always a Favorite!!Love their milkshakes and burgers. Especially, their garlic burger and vanilla milkshake is my go to. Pricing is very reasonable plus they always have value options, special and happy hour deals.One thing on the negative is the wait. During certain hours (especially night time) lines can be long and moves very slowly.They only have drive thru and take out options as of now. However, there are some tables and benches outside.Anyways! A good place to kill cravings. Carpe Diem with your taste buds good people.
We love going to steak and shake to grab a quick meal. There are so many burger option, they all taste great! But my absolute favorite is always the half banana and strawberry milk shake! This has been my go to place to hang out for a late night meal with friends since I was a little girl. The service could be better though, sometimes some waitresses seem like they dont want to be there, they look upset and make the experience awful. Sometimes the waiting period for the burgers is way too long. I think better training for the chefs would improve this. Food seems to take a long time to get to the table. Horrible in that sense. But it is a great place to hang out for a late night meal.
I normally avoid this location and drive all the way to the Snellvile location 20 minutes away because its always an issue here and today I was reminded why. My order was disgusting. I ordered a Frisco melt and received a sandwich with 2 of the smallest patties Ive ever seen. The cheese wasnt completely melted and Im not sure what the dressing to bread ratio should be but this definitely wasnt it. It was sloppy and soggy from all of the extra dressing they slathered over it.. It wasnt appealing at all I ended up throwing it away I didnt want to deal with the drama of driving back and returning it. The last dime they will get from me
I walked into Steak and Shake with my husband and sister no one was welcoming us into the place. we waited about 10 minutes to get seated. I had to ask somebody is we going to be seated by somebody or not then thats when somebody came over and seated us. The waiter was very sweet and kind. They need to train the other staff members to have more Hospitality towards all customers come through that door. Not only the Hispanics and white people.
Steak and shake only have guess to come through drive through . I always give the cashier a tip, because they no longer make tips anymore. Me and my son really like to go to steak and shake thats our mother and Son day to sit down and have dinner or lunch together. I really hope they reopen again soon for dining.
I was gonna go to chipotle saw the line was ridiculously long so I decided to go to stake and shake mind you this was my first time coming here! I must say I wasnt impressed however the price wasnt that bad but please work on your food quality!/frys!Thank you for being open!
I ordered online, and it stated that it would be ready within 15 minutes, but I ended up having to wait in line behind everyone else who had ordered at the restaurant and not in advance. We ended up having to wait an extra 25 minutes for our food, and at that point, the food was cold. Not only that, but they were having a free fries promotion and even after asking them to make sure wed receive the fries, upon leaving the restaurant we realized they didnt even give it to us.
This place is literally the epitome of disaster. I walked in to place to order my food Togo and this lady with braids told me I was in the wrong place. All I wanted to do was place my order TOGO. This woman was extremely rude and I will not spend my money as a consumer here. Worst steak and shake ever!
Food was good but order had issues. I ordered online so there shouldnt have been a problem as it was perfectly clear and in print for them. Ordered a double steak burger for one child and got a single ordered a bacon cheeseburger for another child and got no bacon. Those are pretty big mistakes. Two out of five orders wrong.
If I could give it 0 stars I would! With no exaggeration it took 45 minutes to get the food through the drive through !!! It seems like one person is working the drive through and cooking!!! There is absolutely no reason why this should have taken this long!!! Very disappointed!! Thumbs down
Had to grab a quick bite on the run yesterday. Saw Steak n Shake and decided to hit the drive thru! 28 minutes later I was on my way with cold fries and a pretty decent steak burger. The burger was good, the service not so much. I think they only had one person working the entire store. I felt sorry for the guy. Place should have been better staffed for lunch hours. I would never stop at this location again.
Took nearly 10 minutes to have someone come to the counter to ask the name I was picking up for, despite multiple attempts to get someone’s attention. It then took over 20 minutes to make the food. Completely unreasonable amount of time for fast food. Go somewhere else.
Nothing unusual when it comes to negative experiences with some fast food restaurants. This location was extremely slow with getting customers there food. The drive through was shut down that day and they seemed understaffed inside. I understand that workers can be frustrated, but if its directed at customers that are respectful and patient, thats when it completely turns me off. On top of the 25 to 30 min wait time, our drinks were forgotten. The food wasnt that great as well. To be honest, lately there are only a few nice steak and shake restaurants around that I would go to. This one has been completely removed from places that I would go eat.
Ive been to this location several times and usually get decent service. Today I went for carryout. I stood at the counter a little longer than Id like, but once I placed my order it was ready in about 5 minutes. I did notice there werent many diners but it still took a while to be seated. Overall, its a pretty good location with good service.
The food was great but the service could have been better. Iasked for additional condiments on my sandwich,however when it arrive to my table it wasnt among the sandwich. I made the waitress aware of this she said sure grab it for you but then proceeded to assist other customers. The fact that I had to wait for something that should have been on the sandwich in the 1st place the rest of my meal got cold. On top of that when I was ready to go I had to wait at the register for 10 minutes while the rest of the staff looked at me waiting to pay. They didnt even acknowledge me or try to help😐
Walked in, stood at door area to be seated for almost 10 minutes. Nobody even acted as if we were there. They finally came and got the people In front of us and just left us standing therefore another 5-7 minutes. So she just sat some guest in a half empty restaurant but she dont have the awareness to come and seat us next? Finally, I loudly just said hello were waiting!, and the cook just said yelled for an employee to serve us. When they finally did seat us, nobody thanked us for waiting. What happened to decent customer service where they thank you for dining there, acknowledge you as you wait and act like youre money is a guarantee? Waiter was good and food was good.
I like the fact that you get free fries. And I usually really like their milkshakes, but I got one that did not taste that great. I asked the young lady if I could get the Nutella milkshake but add Oreos. So basically it would be like a cookies and cream milkshake but even better bc I LOVE hazelnut! I was very disappointed because I could not taste the Nutella at all.
Irst time here and probably the last time. The worst service ever. Placed the order from mobile app, set the pickup time and still had to wait 30 minutes for the food. The only employee that appeared to have any urgency is the cook on the grill. Everyone else are on slow mode. I have seen the Waffle House and McDonalds provided better service. I finally asked the manager about the order and apparently the order is not ready and they just start making the food.The manager cut the cook line and got me the food with 10 minutes and I appreciate her effort. She also offered me a free soda but by this point, I was already irratated and ready to leave the establishment.On a high note, yes there is a high note to this negative review, the burgers was very good.
Steak ‘n Shake is overall amazing! Usually Steak ‘n Shake is very disgusting (talking about other Steak ‘n Shake) but here they make quality food and it’s cleaner than the other restaurants. I highly recommend this place, but just don’t get mad if the people working there are on their bad side. Just be nice :)
Went to this Stake & Shake at 11:45 pm. I waited to place an order. Manger stated she could not because if she stayed open it would be her and one other employee. So I asked do you close before 12 because that’s what’s posted. What are the store hours to the store? Because clearly it’s not clear to the manager🤷🏽♀️
Went through the drive through at 9pm with nobody in line or behind me. I ordered shakes and they told me that they dont have anymore shakes. I ask why and they said they were short staffed. I proceed to wait 30 minutes for my food and while Im waiting, I see A SHAKE MADE AND BEING SERVED! I call them out on it and the manager proceeds to say they are short staffed, after I watched the drive through person walk around doing nothing for a good 20 minutes while waiting for the food. He finally said he would make the shakes, tells me to pull up, then send the drive through guy out to ask me to pay for them. I go inside to speak to him again. Him being short staffed is not my problem. He then lied when I told him I saw the shake being served and said they hadnt served any, then said it was an online order that was made before. So after lying to my face, he then insists I pay for the shakes I went to steak and shake for specifically. TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT.
30 minute wait in the drive thru line. Bringing out everybody else’s orders but mine. I have had 5 cars pass by me and they still have not brought me my food.This place should really rethink being opened. Because damn, I have never had to wait in a fast food line this long.
We waited 15 minutes for 2 meals under $4 at the drive thru. Cashier kept her back to us while having a whole personal conversation with multiple other employees (including an employee with an all white chef uniform), cursing and all. Had to get her attention to take my money. She walked away. My food finally came up after 10 minutes and was sat by the window by another employee...had to wait for her to decide to come back to the window before I was finally handed our food that just sat there for another 5 minutes. Aside from the terrible customer service, the food was delicious.
The store was clean, the food was great! However Id like for the staff to be a little more catering. The young woman whom waited on us didnt seem to worry about our dining experience. I was never asked if I wanted a refill of coffee, also the waiter took too long to bring the check in order for me to pay.
I was VERY pleased and surprised by the service and the food. I vowed to never eat here again after a couple of tries, but it appears the overnight crew and the day crew are the difference. Our server was friendly, helpful and accommodating. The food was good for the price, the only complaint would be the shakes werent appealing. Looked and tasted like melted ice cream rather than an actual shake
I normally try to find pros and cons of any situation that would be questionable. I was really looking forward to eating here today since it had been awhile and it is a holiday. Maybe they were short staffed, etc. But this location was pretty bad tonight. I actually had to get up and leave. The cashier was awful, very fowl and using vulgar language. That already kind of gave me an idea that this is not a good time to come in and eat. Other customers were complaining and decided I would possibly just try it another day.
This was such a disappointing dining experience if I could give less than 1 star I would. The person who sat I seemed lost, dazed and confused. After waiting 15 minutes to place order, we waited 10 minutes to get our drinks and another 35 minutes to receive our order. 2 of the orders were incorrect and once the waiter dropped the food in front of us, he never graced us with his presence at the table to make sure we didnt need anything. After eating, I asked the waiter for our bill 3 times and after waiting an additional 20 minutes to receive it, which I never did, I finally went to the front to request the person at the register get me my bill. Unfortunately, the guy at the register was the confused individual who initially sat us. I asked to speak to the manager, who turned around and told the cashier he didnt have time to come over and talk to me. I wasnt the only unhappy customer at this location. The bathrooms were dirty and there was food and papers all over the floor. Avoid this location
Love me some steak and shake, especially the triple burger with fries for $3.99, when you think about it, like thats the only meal you need to eat in a day, even for homeless people or if your dirt poor, if you can scrounge up four bucks, youll at least get yourself one fantastic meal, I hope that doesnt come across weird but its that strong a value
They have stepped it up from the last time I was there. Cleaner. Our waitress was great and very attentive! Also she was quick to fix any problem we might of had (they forgot to add some ingredients to my burger that come with my burger). I forgot her name but we were very happy and full. Thanks!
You can tell a lot about a place by how they handle issues. Today they were closed a couple hours while upgrading equipment. I was given a coupon for a free shake on my next visit. I was greeted with a smile at the door and was told about the issue today. I left feeling good about the visit and plan to go back.
My order was left on a window shelf and I was forgotten. It took forever to get my 2 milk shakes made. Then I got one and the other took more time. My food was cold and my shakes were warm. I waited on my to go order 35 minutes. I will never put a tip on my card before I get my food again!
My food was cold plus my order was wrong I had to go in after waiting in the drive though for 25 minutes. I had to go inside the staff look at me as if I did something wrong. But the recipe did not lie. It showed the true order. So the order was put together differently than the recipe. What I got next was a burge with the meat cut in half and cold bread. What happen next... Bird food. Yep out the window and the wrapper in the trash... I thank you for getting it half right.
If youre in a hurry, my recommendation is going through the drive thru. While the staff inside is kind and courteous, they seem to be either understaffed or just quite slow. Im willing to lean on them being just slow since Ive seen Steak & shakes with less staff perform much more efficientlyIn a nearly full diner at around 4 or 5 pm, it took about 10 minutes to get seated, another 10 minutes before a server came by to take my order, and I watched my food and shake sit ready for atleast 5 minutes. I didnt get my shake until 5 minutes after getting my food and it was only after asking for it.The drive thru was quite quick and they got my order done quickly during a similar peak time. While inside, I frequently saw peoples orders getting delivered to the wrong table and watched another table get the wrong bill (mine), but this was quickly corrected.The staff was generally kind and I have no complaints in regard to their mannerisms, just their speed.
The driveway is atrocious. The wait is long, the food looks like it was in a hurricane, and the orders are always wrong or incomplete. The most recent experience I had describes this perfectly. I ordered a triple steakburger, and after a long wait, I come home to find out I got a single patty burger that was a fraction of the size it should be, and old, soft fries.
I have come here 3 times and each time the disorganization is unbelievable.I decided to place my order online to see if it made a difference,AND it didnt. I don’t know who or how it happened but I posted a picture of the bottle cap that found its way into the middle of my milkshake and that’s just nasty. I won’t eat here again and to make matters worse before i found it, it tasted like it was made with water instead of Milk.. Just a bad experience for me and I won’t be going back EVER.
Im here with my boyfriend... coming in for a quick bite to eat has turned into a nightmare. When we first entered, ALL the empty tables were filled with trash and dirty dishes. Took ten minutes to get seated, and it was NOT crowded. We ordered our food immediately - each a burger, keeping it simple. Took 30+ minutes for the food to come. We spent that time surrounded by the gross leftovers remaining on other empty tables. Not to mention, the table we were seated at was not clean either. After clearing our plates, waiting an additional 20+ minutes, asking for the check twice (and never getting it), my boyfriend had to finally walk up to the counter to pay by just telling the attendant what we ordered. Two burgers should not take an hour and a half.... awful experience. A separate table waited 15+ minutes for drinks. If youre looking for a simple burger, dont come here. Actually. Just dont come here. Period.
This location is always iffy. You dont know if the service is going to be service or not. The hamburgers can be very well done and dry or not. We waited 8 minutes for the wait staff to come to our table. There was only 5 other tables occupied at the time. When I went to pay, another 7 to 10 minutes wait and the manager was cooking. If you visit this location just be aware that it could be frustrating.
My friend and I went to steak and shake on Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth Georgia. We were greeted as soon as we came in by a very nice waitress named Melissa. Melissa was very courteous she set us down immediately came back in two minutes ask us for our drink orders suggested some new stuff they had. We finally did decide on what we wanted to eat she repeated the order to make sure that it was correct when it came up it was fresh and hot she brought it right to the table the order was made correctly the food was delicious. We will be back to enjoy more food keep up the great customer service at the Pleasant Hill stake and shake
The burgers here are fantastic. Like what youd make in your own backyard. Seriously fresh and tasty and VERY reasonably priced. The milkshakes are among the best Ive ever had. The stores are clean and roomy. The friendliness and efficiency of the wait staff can vary, however. But the food is well worth the visit. I put their Triple Steakburger up against Five Guys. And its less expensive here.
Known for their Steakburgers which are always good. Dont skip out on the Melts they have those are also very good. The shakes are delicious and everything comes out in a timely manner. Atmosphere is like a 70s style restaurant/diner. Service is always great and food is priced very well. You can have a full meal with shake for less than $10.
Went here for a quick bit to eat since it’s right across from JeJu. I got two burgers for their 2 for $3 special and a caramel turtle milkshake. The food was decent, but the burgers weren’t made fresh & lukewarm upon arrival.Our server/hostess/cashier is the real reason for the high rating. She was very attentive & patient with us. I wish I remembered her name, but I believe she had dark hair, glasses, pale skin, & a very friendly demeanor.
Food is decent and all, but oh my God are they slow. Seriously, took 25 minutes for 3 cars just to PLACE orders and another 20 to get them.Also, they royally messed up my order and were in absolutely no hurry to fix it.Think the staff just really doesnt have the customer in mind.
This location is 5 minutes from where I live so I used to go here often because it was so close. However, Ive finally had it with this location. 10+ times I have come here and hoped that the service would be better, but I was mistaken each and every time. You are seated only after standing and waiting for at least 5-10 minutes, even if nobody else is in front of you waiting and there are obviously plenty of places to be seated. After that, an additional 15-20 minutes passes before anybody even comes by to take your drink order! God forbid you get more than a single refill on your drink the entire time, if you even get one. There are a maximum of two servers in the store at all times. The orders are always taken incorrectly, and the overall quality of the food is not very good. Preparation is obviously rushed.DO NOT GO HERE.
Service was awful. I would give them 1 star if I could not only did they give us frozen soup but our waitress failed to even bring out our drinks. We didn’t have silverware or any napkins. Our waitress saw that we weren’t satisfied with our soup and needed drinks and she ignored us and walk the other way to avoid our table. All of the staff was completely unprofessional except for the women in the front who seated us . Very disappointing.
I gave it three stars because the wait time and drive thru is extremely long theres no dining right now the dine-in is closed so the drive-thru line is wrapped around the building it was so long I turn my engine off but they do give extra Fries for courtesy. The staff is always nice good customer service if youre willing to wait a long time for your food be my guest
1 STAR BECAUSE 0 WAS NOT AN OPTION. The service and staff were rude. I was with a party of 8 and we were seated, however once seated we were blatantly ignored. No other member of your service team approached our table for 20 minutes!!!!!! No flatware No drinks NOTHING. Any eye contact we made was quickly averted by the wait staff. Finally after we approached the front counter and asked if we could be served the response was how many? the restaurant was not full or bust by any means so you would think a party of 8 would be noticeable, you thought wrong. Once we were finally able to place our order they arrived fairly quick but not without a few items missing. We visited on Sept. 8 at 4:00. I am sure our 8 dinners will not make or break your franchise but I can assure you, your franchise will never get another dime from our 8 pockets.
This place is a joke. Waited 10 minutes in drive thru. Got frustrated. Decided to order inside. Wasnt greeted at all. Lots of people just sitting there with empty tables looking just as frustrated. Not once was I greeted or asked if I wanted to place an order though about 6 employees looked at me and walked by me. Eventually an entire table of 7 people got up and left. Several times a waitress came by the register, didnt bother acknowledging my existence so I walked out as well. Screw this place.
Terrible establishment. Honestly, I feel discriminated when I go into there, which i go rarely. This situation has happened a couple times during the night shift, but this time I received words from staff... my friends and I will be waiting in line to be seated, while people of different ethnicities come in behind us, all getting acknowledged, greeted, and seated, while my friends and I stand there hopeless to get a seat. Even after asking very politely to recieve service, the staff would completely ignore our groups regards, turn their back and walk away not saying 1 word. After around 45 minutes of being ignored in line, and then sitting down politely at the bar asking for service, we left. I made a comment about leaving a review, and it was finally then an employee acknowledged our party demanding for us to get the F*** out* ... as we were already leaving, due to not being acknowledged, seated, and ignored while politely asking for service.If you do get seated and have service during the night shift, prepared for at least a hour or more. And when your food is served, cold food.
The worst dining experience that Ive ever had by far. Started by pulling in to the drive thru to notice that the car sitting in front of me was waiting on someone to answer since this was a 24hr restaurant. After waiting for 10 minutes, I walk into the restaurant and was greeted with take-out only .. not hello or welcome to steak n shake. I placed my order at the register and waited for my order to be prepared. Im not sure what their protocol is on maintaining keeping the cooking area clean but that could not have been the proper way to do so. I have never wished so bad for a button to call the health department. I asked the girl at the register if it was too late to cancel my order and she mentioned that it was too late. I waited a few more minutes and saw things that made me lose my appetite. I left without food or a refund. Do this for yourself, DO NOT EAT HERE!!! Stay away from Steak n Shake Pleasant Hill Rd. I plan on following up with corporate and possibly the health department.
The food is consistent with every other Steak and Shake since the beginning of time, but the drive through takes so damn long that I had zero recollection of what I even ordered by the time I reached the window.The staff is super friendly so that at least made my wait much more tolerable than it would normally be.
Tried to eat there Saturday 7/1. Showed up at around 230 and it was still fairly busy. Was seated fairly quickly and was promptly ignored for 15 minutes while the took care of everything other table seated after us. Gave up after no server even came by and left, we tend to avoid this place because of the slow service but thought we would give them a second chance. I guess some things never change.
Across many budgets Steak n Shake really surprised me. Ive been here twice. The first time, I ordered Al one of the deluxe burgers and a shake. No regrets, as the food was hot and fresh and juicy. It exceeded my expectations of the price of the food.The second time, however, I didnt want to spend much money do I picked two single patty burgers. I chose the classic and the mushroom Swiss. Just like the first time, both were hot and fresh, but admittedly not as super juicy but amazing nonetheless.Id recommend this over any fast food in the area besides maybe Taco Bell.
We went in on a Monday right after they open. We got seated quick but after we asked for drinks and food we were disappointed. We ordered our food without mayo and tomato, and well done. Also a order of baked beans. Well as soon as we got it it was not well done, my husbands burger had tomato and mayo. And instead of the beans we got fries. After they returned the burger they just changed the buns the lettuce still had mayo. Brought us the beans cold. My husband didnt end up eating and we still payed for it. It was a bad experience and we really like eating there. Hopefully is better next time.
For months this location was closed at night. When the finally opened the people were worse then before. I usually get off work around 2-4 am, and love steak and shake. Unfortunately this location has to be the one next to me.....yet again closed at night. Loved the food and concept, hut you guys should just probably go ahead and close for good.
The service was terrible. Went in around 12:30 am on 4/7-4/8. Stood up front to be seated for 13 minutes. While employees walked right past us. After finally being seated. The tall waiter had to wipe the table off. Gave us our menu and walked away. And which he Never returned. Didnt our drink order. We were ready to order after about 15 minutes of sitting and waiting and he was in the corner, drinking from a cup, checking his phone. There were no orders in the window. And he wasnt taking care of another table for him to have gone that long. After I looked over and saw him drinking his drink. He simply turned the other way. There were 2 other associates on the floor as well. We walked out after that. Worst service ever
Steak and Shake is one of those places that looks good the name sounds good but the food is very mediocre. Plus the fact that it takes on average 10 minutes for your order to be made for fast food is pretty bad thats the same time it takes for Sapore restaurant such as Applebees 2 have complete meals ready to go. The food is not bad but not worth recommending.
First off, I could have given this place a rating of 1. We came in at 8am.One person was there working alone, and had been there for 10+ hours, but he managed to sit us, get our drinks, and start working on our order before any help arrived. Many customers would have left at this point. It was a disaster...the tea was old, the others workers appeared lazy and incompetent, but Dewayne was on top of things. He turned a disastrous situation into a good one. He remained cool & kept us laughing. This place has gotten some terrible reviews, and needs a make over, probably starting at management. I could have rated this place a 1, but because of one server I give it a 5. Our family would go back again if in this area. The food was wonderful.
Food was good. Service was terrible. We couldnt get someone to talk to us about why they couldnt make our food, but in the end made it anyways. The waiter did not once ask us how our meal was after we had received it. My friend waited ten minutes for a refill, never was offered one and had to ask for it. He was given the wrong refill, he had Dr. Pepper and was refilled Sweet Tea. I was never interacted with by the waiter after he told us twice that two of our meals couldnt be done, so I went without a refill. Our waiter only came to our table twice really after we got our food. 1, to get our check and my friends refill because he was asked. 2, to get a take home box because we had to ask for it. This was the worst meal we have ever had at a Steak and Shake because of the service experience. Food again, was as we expected so no problem there.
This place is horrible. We ordered a taco salad for takeout, and our experience was shitty. We asked for a receipt, but the man at the register acted like a statue when we said we wanted the receipt. The food was okay, but I was angry at the fact it took 40 minutes for a simple salad and shake, and they didnt even ask if I wanted the chicken or beef and neither did they ask about the dressing. The cooks were busy talking and fooling around with each other. Theres another restaurant near this location that serves better shakes with better service and time.
I order food here thru door dash... My first mistake was believing that I would actually get my food the first time.. When I called the restaurant, the manager was refusing to remake my order. I spent an hour and a half back and forth between door dash and Steak N Shake to even get my order. When it finally arrives the burger is over cooked as well as my onion rings. The onion rings were like trying to eat a brick. It took over 2 hours to get my order and all my food is over cooked! On top of all that my milkshake is melted and there is no whipped cream or cherry...I have been to other Steak N Shakes and had excellent experiences but, this one definitely surprised me in the worst way possible.
When we got there a bunch of employees where standing at the front counter, none acknowledged us. The waitress came up and sat us. Another customer was being rude and making noises to get her attention. She walked over and politely told them shewas the only waitress and proceeded taking there order. Then she came over to take our order. We ordered the turtle milkshake and she said we cant make that one we dont have all the Stuff. My mother was coughing so she went and grabbed her some water without me asking. My mother ordered the very strawberry shake at 134am and its currently 213 and she still hasnt gotten it. The food came out at room temperature the fries were ice cold. She went back and cooked a fresh batch and brought them out quickly. Everyone had gone home from there shift and left the restaurant a hot Mess. The waitress did a good job but never saw a manager. Will not be back anytime soon.
Waited over 30minutes for 4 burgers to go. Watched the burgers be cooked speedily and then just sit on the counter. Apparently the manager was in charge of wrapping them. He left them alone for 20min. After that 20min we asked for refund. Had to wait 10min for that refund burgers still sitting on the counter. Somebody came and apologized. We still asked for refund. The manager finally came and it was the same guy who was in charge of wrapping the burgers in the first place. Couldnt even refund back to my card. Ended up getting cash back. Not satisfactory.
I’ve been here about five times, and every time I’ve waited nearly 20 minutes just to have my order taken at the window. They literally make you wait at the intercom for 20 minutes, sometimes more, before they will take your order! Then it’s another 15 minutes or so before you will be acknowledged at the window or have your shake. Burgers here are always dry and service is lacking. I figure, even if I drive to Buford I’ll be back quicker than I would be waiting at this place up the street! Also, they have several signs around the building saying they are open 24 hours, but there’s a makeshift sign on the drive thru intercom saying they close at 12am. Sometimes, they close even earlier for random reasons. Terribly unprofessional.
Ive lived in Duluth for 10 years and this place always has extremely long waits. I understand it can get busy but just in my experience for over 10 years they have never improved their waiting time. Drive thru can take as long as an hour and waiting time to eat inside at times is 30 minutes or longer. Youd think youre waiting this long for a 5 star meal but the food is just lukewarm fast food meals. Only reason I gave it more than 1 star rating is because SOME of the employees are kind and friendly.
I dont even want to give this place 1 star. When we walked in we were completely ignored. The place had a very bad smell to it. There was a line of about 10 people with more than half the tables available yet dirty and full of old food. There were no servers on the floor and no one greeted us. The people who were seated hardly anyone had any food yet. They could have at least cleaned up the tables, I could do a quick clean up in 5 minutes on all those tables. We ended up leaving within 15 minutes of waiting and standing not knowing if anyone was going to even acknowledge us.
They need to train their staff well before working for them. Their servers are slow and do not multitask. There can be a line of people waiting to be seated, but yet they cant sit people. There are clearly tables available, but yet people are waiting to be seated. It seems like their employees really dont want to work there or they just cant use common sense. I had to ask them to seat me. And while seated, I saw many other people coming in, waited, and left. Poor service!
Always slow. This time dining area was closed but some people were inside, sign on the door that said drive through was open. Waited behind 3 cars to place my order and Steak n Shake wasnt serving shakes. I would give 0 stars for this specific visit but one for consistency.
Always had good experiences but tonight not only did i have to wait close to an hour in drive thru but lady taking order asked me to repeat order 3 times after 10 min pauses. The order was short a burger. Had to wait longer and wasnt offered compensation. Any company in food service would have at least offered a coupon.
The hamburgers are rich the smoothies alike .. but if they go in a hurry and hunger this is not the place besides I do not know because in these restaurants they do not put managers with a little more authority because when the waiters do not have customers to attend they should be cleaned. Because there is too much dust in the air conditioning ducts and in the hanging lamps and garbage under the tables. I think they should close one day and that everyone arrives as normal work day and clean the restaurant once a month!🤔
No matter which Steak and Shake I go to it takes so long to get my order taken that Im not sure if I like their food or not because I always leave. 15 minutes in line to order your food is unacceptable. The food is cold and dry. Not only that, but the service is incredibly slow. I’d had to constantly remind and ask about my food and silverware which is preposterous because the first thing you should give us is our silverware but even then - I still had to remind them. I ordered hash browns and it wasn’t one bit crunchy or crisp. It was WET and squishy like throw up.
If I could give this racist dumpster fire negative stars I would. My wife and I visited Georgia back in July and for the first time in my life I felt racially discriminated against for being white. We walked in and stood at the front 15 minutes waiting to be seated when there was no one in front of us, while the black staff continued to ignore us and wait on othe black patrons. Finally we were seated then waited 20 minutes for someone to come take our order or acknowledge they were our waiter never happened. We continued to be ignored while all the other patrons were waited on. We finally left and no one even asked us why, nothing. This company and staff should be very ashamed of their racist behavior.My advice if youre white, stay away from this joint. If youre lucky enough to get any food, you probably dont wanna know what they did to it.My advice to the staff, theres good and bad in every race and that hate doesnt cure hate. Get smart enough to realize that.
This place is THE SLOWEST AND MOST DISORGANIZED BUSINESS I HAVE EVER STEPPED FOOT IN OR DECIDED TO GO TO!!!! The drive thru line was absolutely insane and when I finally got up to the window after waiting well over 30 minutes i even waited an additional 13 mins before they came to the window so i could pay. Following that i received the wrong order and did not get my drink nor did i get my receipt, the guy at the window was extremely rude and did not care to try to fix my order but he smirked and took his time, meanwhile there are like 15 more people behind me waiting still ! so upset and livid I just left. Worst steak and shake ever , needs better service and better people. Period.

2022-03-24The slowest fast food joint around. Always closed early before their closing time and can never seem to get the orders right. Ordered a small side of fries and was given literally 10 fries lol. At least it gave us a good laugh.

2022-04-28The worst lunch experience ever. The shift manager Cody or something doesnt know how to read and serve. I tried to get what i paid for. By the way my meal got frozen. I bought their fries spice to go but the box was opened. Absolutely they dont deserve one star at all.

2022-06-28I normally love their food but the service is absolute garbage and what is worse, is that they get constant reviews of extremely slow service and unfriendly employees and yet nothing is done about it. No apologies, no trying to make it better, nothing. They might as well just close down because as good and cheap as the food is normally, it’s supposed to be fast food. And the last order I got was wrong and poorly put together. Ordered a double steakburger and fries and got this sad excuse of a frisco melt. Was two tiny little patties smushed together on some sourdough drenched in sauce and one piece of cheese. Extremely greasy. I get waiting a few extra minutes for a freshly made burger, but 30-45 minutes in a line with only a few cars? Could have gone to a sit down restaurant in that time, eaten the food and left before you get anything from here.

2022-04-16Staffing shortages have hit every industry, but none more than food. This was my visit since COVID. There isnt a hostess or waitress to meet you. Instead you order at a kiosk and wait for your number to be called. The staff is working to fulfill both Drive thru carryout and dine in orders. Dont expect to get in and out. The cleanliness and the stocking of the bathrooms is what left something to be desired. Its difficult to practice good hygiene when there are no towels soap and toilet paper. Despite that, my experience was positive.

2022-04-27The restaurant is aging quite a bit, but the service is still nice. Menu items are greatly reduced, so several of the older items are no longer available.Last time I was here, there were only 2 people working. One in the kitchen and one at the drive thru. Be nice! They got me through in about 15 minutes from order to driving away.

2022-03-13Had to use a touch screen system to order since covid but found it to be a great experience. Very easy system to use and ensures that your order is exactly what you ordered. No waiting on any wait staff to Seat you or to take your order then have to relay it to the kitchen. The order flow was flawless.

2022-04-29Dont expect the Steak n Shake on Pleasant Hill to actually follow a schedule of open hours. My son and I just tried to go inside at 9:30 pm and as we approached one of the cooks came and locked the outside doors at 9pm. One door says open till 11, the other door states that the estabilshment will be open 24 hours. The Google page says that the establishment is open until 12 midnight. No where does it say they close at 9pm or that the dining room is closed. You would think that a chain that is practically obsolete and dieing on the vine would be a bit more interested in maintaining their image and customer service. This is not the first problem we have had with this location, and yet they continue to find ways to be a huge disappointment. So unfortunate that good food is so poorly managed. You have been warned, so have a back up plan before deciding to eat this Steak n Shake. You will likely need it.

We got two burger/fry combos for total $9, so good cheap food.The burger was alright but the fries were kind bland. Its not the employees fault I just think there are better options right down the street.

2022-04-20Their milkshakes are pretty good and are half price during happy hour. However this location is widely known for having slow service. It would be worth it for the jalapeño steak burger which they got rid of. Now the steakburgers taste like every other fast food burger place. Nothing special. The fries are skinny and tall. The drink feels watered down. Overall disappointing
