If you are serious about grappling and are in the CSRA you WILL end up at Gracie Barra Augusta if you dont start there. Joshua Miller is the most respected instructor in the area and his style of teaching carries over from the kids classes to the adults perfectly. Come join this family of athletes .Jiu-Jitsu for Everyone !
As a long time member of the Gracie Barra Augusta team, I could not recommend a better place to train! Under the supervision of Professor Joshua Miller, my skill has grown leaps and bounds and I am now capable and confident in my abilities to defend myself. There are no hidden fees, no belt test fees, or pressure to do anything put enjoy the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Stop making excuses and come down and try it out!

2022-04-23My wife and girls really enjoy attending here. The business opened up training time around noon for the homeschool kids, which is great! My girls are usually married to their tablet screens, but when its time to go to Jiu Jitsu, they run and get dressed. Great owner, great family place.

2020-03-20I’m a soldier and was in Augusta for a short while and needed a school to train at. I contacted the Professor of the gym, Joshua, and was treated very warmly. The school is very spacious, accommodating, modern, clean, well lit, and easily accessible, as it’s just off the Bobby Jones expressway. The lessons are taught verbally and demonstrated by one of the Professors. You are given a good amount of time to drill the lesson. The people of the school are WARM and PROFESSIONAL. There wasn’t a moment that I didn’t feel apart of the community. All questions were answered and I never felt rushed to meet the tempo of the class. Professors will personally take you aside if you didn’t understand something about the lesson being taught. There isn’t enough I can say about the Professors, the school, and the students they have. I had a great time! I’m a 37 year old white belt and I have been training for 10 months.

2019-05-27A great school indeed! The owner, Joshua, is very friendly and easy to communicate with. He is quick to respond to your questions via email and will patiently sit with you to explain and answer questions in person while class is in session. You will not feel rushed or pressured to join. Unlike other local mma schools, you will not receive constant phone calls or emails to schedule a free trial period.Class schedule is one of a kind. You are not limited to the typical two or three days a week or restricted to specific days and times to train. Classes are held all week - early mornings, mid-days, afternoons, evenings and weekends. Open mat on Saturday and Sundays.The atmosphere is very welcoming and friendly.I highly recommend this Jiu-jitsu school.

2019-10-24Great BJJ gym with awesome instruction and valid technique. We can argue pro’s/con’s of any move that’s taught, but I have yet to see something on the mat that wasn’t relevant, applicable at the highest and lowest levels of BJJ, and taught in a concise and professional manner. I was allowed to borrow some kids gi’s until mine came in, they accommodate my daughter using their showers before she goes to school during the morning class, and foster a safe and effective learning environment for all of my kids... even when I’m not there. family oriented, beginner, avid practitioner or Pro-competitor.... this is where you sharpen your skill set in the CSRA.

2018-03-09I travel for work and I try to attend new Jiu Jitsu gyms whenever I am away from home. When I was travelling to Augusta I attended Terra Planus as a visitor for a few weeks while working at Ft. Gordon. From the moment I walked into Terra Planus I felt right at home. The facility is fantastic but what really makes the gym feel so great is all of the instructors and students that I had the pleasure of rolling with. The instructor Josh is one of the nicest people I have ever met and is truely an expert in jiu Jitsu. The way he teaches the moves is simple and fun. He makes coming to jiu jitsu an escape from the norms of everyday life. I tried to roll with all of the students there and everyone from black belt to white belt was extremely inviting and excting to roll with. I cant commend this gym enough and if youre ever in the augusta/Ft. Gordon area I recommend you stop by and roll.Thanks again Josh!

2017-08-27I started training martial arts with AFC in 2007 helping other mma fighters, licensed corner in Georgia and South Carolina for AFC at that time period when it ended joined up with Gracie Barra Augusta now Terra Planus JJ in 2015, best Jiu Jitsu around by far, very welcoming great high level instructors. I love this gym and its people highly recommended by me and now I even help with kids classes, if your looking for Jiu Jitsu this is the place also have Cross fit program stop by check it out!

2019-12-26Went for two years while working in Augusta. Great gym with great people. Go here, listen to Josh and enjoy one of the best gyms Ive EVER been in since starting 4 years ago. Flat earthers and flouride dissuaders will love it as well lol.
