We had the brisket and Cuban sandwiches. I usually do not prefer grilled onions because I’m just not a fan. However, I decided to give it a try and they did not disappoint. Their bbq sauce is a delicious mustard based and is great on the brisket.I feel that I should mention how awesome our waitress Macy was. She has such a great and spunky personality. Honestly you may want to just ask if she’s working because she won’t disappoint. We would love to come back if we are ever in the area again!
I went there for brunch recently, I love atmosphere, the food was great. I had the hot chicken biscuit plate with cheese grits with was a recommendation from my sever. She was nice and service was on point for it to be a busy place. The drinks were amazing 👌. I had a peach Bellini nice and refreshing. Simply Amazing 😍
Need a good lunch spot to stop at before hitting the road after a good long vacation and this was THE spot!Everything was amazing. The menu was big but not too big where it gets overwhelming. I wish they were closer to Jacksonville FL so i could try everything on the menu because it all looked and sounded so good. Judging by the quality of food we ordered it all would be phenomenal.
We were sat very quickly, and drink order taken. When trying to order the server was certainly not close to friendly, not quite rude, but no smiles didnt seem to know about the menu when asked for recommendations... Food was good, but being in the service industry a majority of my life, the service could have definitely been friendlier a smile can go a long way.
Had a good Reuben and Sweet Potato fries. The sandwich was good; the fries a bit soggy. Higher cooking temp and shorter cook time would probably help. Service was pleasant and we were seated quickly. Ive eaten at Five Spot many times. I recommend it often and will certainly be back.
It truly pains me to leave such a bad review on a Habersham staple that my family has loved for so long. But now for the last three times I have gone to or had take out, Five spot has let me down. The first disappointment we had to endure we went and was over looked to be sat and felt as though we were ignored. When kindly asked what was happening we were met with a very argumentative manager. The second time we ordered take out. The food was nothing to brag about and was all due to the poor execution. Now for the third visit willing to try and allow the staff to redeem them selves we were seated promptly but unfortunately sat idol for 18 minutes with no acknowledgement or drink order. Then when asked about a waitress it seemed they had no idea who was working our section. Once again when the manager asked us why we were leaving we were again met with combativeness and attitude from the same manager from our first bad visit. I wonder if it’s the management or the staff that’s the issue but it truly hurts my heart to see one of my family’s favorite places to eat go downhill in this way. I hope the owner can fix the issues at hand and regain my business as a local.
We visit Savannah several times a year and never miss dining at Five Spot Midtown! Food is always delicious and we have a favorite server- Marisa - who is just the best! She is attentive and personable and makes the experience just so much fun! I encourage locals and visitors to check out the Five Spot.
The Classic 5 breakfast...First off, the manager hands me a lunch menu at 9:30am, I had to request a breakdown menu. The plate looked great, but if that is 2 eggs, they are clearly very small and the only thing on the plate that was remotely warm. I subbed breakfast potatoes instead of grits. Potatoes hold heat, these were stone cold. The biscuit and gravy were the same, cold.If your going to charge $18 for a breakfast plate and orange juice, at least serve it hot. I wont recommend this place.
This is such a wonderful spot! They have a great selection of $5 cocktails including an old fashioned. We got the collard green bacon dip and it was phenomenal! Our entrees were excellent as well. I got the Cuban and my boyfriend got the fish and chips. Our server, Sierra, was so sweet and really amplified our experience. Highly recommend!!!
Unfortunately, we will not be returning to The 5. My wife and I stopped in last Sunday and were LESS THAN IMPRESSED by their recent performance. My wife ordered a salmon breakfast sandwich and I ordered steak and eggs. For starters, we were seated at a small and narrow section of the restaurant that receives a lot of foot traffic. Normally this wouldnt bother us. However, our were SEATS NEXT TO A DOOR that was BEING OPENED twice every other minute on a cold February morning and FREEZING THE BOTH OF US.Furthermore, we were informed that the store had run out of eggs. We made a different selection and waited...and waited. WE WAITED AN HOUR TO RECEIVE OUR FOOD. Upon receiving our food we noticed we received the eggs that we had swapped out for other selections. We also noticed OUR FOOD WAS COLD...with the exception of freshly cooked eggs.MEDIUM RARE STEAK TAKES 4-6 MINUTES TO COOK.SALMON TAKES 6-8 MINUTES TO COOK.There is NO REASON why TWO DISHES SHOULD have BE SITTING IN THE KITCHEN FOR almost AN HOUR. WAITING ON EGGS THAT WERE SUBSTITUTED for something else.Tldr:•LESS THAN IMPRESSED•SEATS NEXT TO A DOOR BEING OPENED and FREEZING THE BOTH OF US.•WE WAITED AN HOUR TO RECEIVE OUR FOOD•OUR FOOD WAS COLD...with the exception of freshly cooked eggs....•OUR FOOD SAT FOR AN HOUR BEFORE IT GOT TO US.
I am a local Savannah resident. I have ordered or visited this restaurant weekly for the last 3 years. Unfortunately, this restaurant is losing its customers due to the recent management change. I used to walk in and be greeted friendly by the staff and previous manager. The new manager in this restaurant is argumentative and RUDE!I have had 4 awful experiences in the last 6 weeks for both pick-up as well as with dining. Outside of the new managers there, the service has also declined.I recommend that if you are visiting or within walking distance like my family, friends, and professional colleagues, you go to Bellas and avoid the experiences that I have had. This neighborhood establishment is unfortunately not a place where the Midtown/Ardsley Park residents are all talking positively anymore.
Having eaten here twice:You cant beat the drinks, and the food is something else. Its hard to find a place that gives you enough food thats not a French fry. Ive loved both sandwiches that Ive had here, all the sides, and the five drinks I bought.Plus, Sierra is a super sweet waitress who is on the ball!
My daughter and I wanted to try something different and I am glad we decided on The 5 Spot. This place is a very warm and family friendly atmosphere.. There was not a wait time and our food came out fast and hot. Our server Amber was very pleasent with lots of smiles and very knowledgeable of the menue. I will definitely come back again...The food was delicious
Our server Macy was wonderful!! Super fun and great personality. The food was also super yum. The hot chicken sandwich was the perfect combination of crispy and juicy. The brussel sprouts were tasty, I just wish they had been served hot. Mac & cheese was ok... wish it had a little more oomph. I really likes the fries and seasoning. Mom enjoyed her chicken gouda wrap. And the warm, fudgy brownie with chocolate ice cream, whipped cream and blueberries!!! 🤤🤤🤤 Amazing
I selected this place to visit because of the gluten free options and positive reviews.I was a bit disappointed they didn’t have indicators on their menu that items were gluten free and they didn’t have gluten free buns for the burgers as the other reviews indicated.I ended up getting the Brussels sprout appetizer. It was amazing!! Super crispy with bits of bacon and fresh parmesan cheese... so good! You can taste the real butter they grilled them in!The service was great! Prompt and friendly. The restrooms are unisex. And everything was clean
Man, I aint gone lie...I fully expected to be disappointed...just the area, and time of day we went...boy was I wrong ! The colors green spinach was straight 🔥, burger was cooked great. Only complaint I had I wished the pulled pork was smoked, that smoky flavor would have put the burger over the top !
They are not friendly at all. Waited at the door for 10 minutes and no one greeted us. Finally sat at a table all the way in the back and no one ever came to take our orders. I felt a very racist vibe due to the waiters being white and not acknowledging our presence as paying customers and it also felt like this was on purpose. Never going back to any of the locations just because this experience
Isabella was an awesome server, super friendly without being pushy or overbearing. The restaurant is so pretty and spacious…which is why I was a bit off put by the lack of social distancing. The food was delicious! So good. Large portions and it came out fast. Pleaseeeee get better coffee too. We’ll be back though!
Spending a day or so in Savannah GA. As usual, decided to try a new spot. The 5 Spot to be specific. I had the Cuban with sweet potato fries and a pour of Makers Mark bourbon. Long story short, I sent the plate back empty. The Cuban comes with shredded pork, spicy mustard, pickles.. was well made and very tasty! Give em a try!
To start the food is ok… but the customer service is a nightmare. I asked for a special request, the manager came to ask me why I wanted it and as I explained a very personal issue the manager declined me anyway. Not sure why I was asked if the answer was already no. This place is a no go if you have any dietary issues! It’s a no go if you like customer service.
I visited from out of town and really enjoyed my meal here. The atmosphere is what sets this place above a diner feel, I would have given the place 4 stars otherwise. The wrap with sweet potato fries was very filling and tasty. My boyfriend had the breakfast and it was tasty, but similar to good diner food. I would like to try their cocktails next time I go, and their dinner. The view inside and outside the restaurant was great, very industrial modern decor. There are two single restrooms, decently appointed and kept clean.
The 5 Spot in Mid-Town Savannah easy to get to, safe & plenty of parking. The staff goes over & above to accommodate you. Clean Dining area & You know my pet peeve, yes they have a clean men’s restroom. My son & I were impressed with the size & quality of the food from appetizers to our sandwiches. With a mixed crowd of Family & Date nighters it just has a Good Vibes....
We had a graduation celebration for my son here. We flew in from Louisiana, I had to decorate the room we had. When I tell you I pulled up everyone was friendly.... now once we popped the truck open the young ladies started helping us take the decorations out asked me questions I informed them I was not a decorator ☺. They starred pulling the room together with what I had and it was so beautiful my heart was over joyed at how family friendly they were!!!!!!!!!!!! It was such a blessing to to someone and feel like I have known these women forever 💛. These women were the face of your company well let me just say they represented your restaurant, your people very well they have top of the line service, and skills were everything 💜💜💜💜💜💜 I love this place.
Smallest burger patties on earth. Seriously, are they mini-burgers, because it doesn’t indicate that on the menu. Not sure your Black and Blue Burger is worth the $15 you’re asking for it. Oh, wait, I think it took two of them to equal a single burger. 🙄 The menu did say double patties… even so, it’s still tiny. I ordered it without the bun. My guess is that your burgers are all bun then. Even the caramelized onions and cheese crumbles were non-existent on it. At least the brussel sprouts were good. It’s actually sad that places are allowed to charge for food now that’s just not that good or well prepared and it’s apparently acceptable. Owners should review the kitchen prep at this location sooner rather than later.
Went here for Brunch. Good atmosphere, not overly loud.Had the sweet potato hash (onions, red pepper, eggs and sweet potatoes) and chicken and biscuits. Would recommend both, but I liked the chicken and biscuits better. Sweet potato hash was a good vegetarian (not vegan) dish.
Went there for brunch on Sunday and enjoyed their Habersham Village Scramble was AWESOME; it was satisfying, delicious, and perfectly priced. My husband had the French toast and it was yummy as well. Their peach belinis are the bomb AND OUR SERVER, Samantha was a total sweetheart. 10/10 do recommend (for brunch at least!) 😋😋
Food was great! Crispy brussles sprouts werent that crispy but they were delicious. Fried fish was seasoned perfectly. Atmosphere was bright and lovely (though the music was a little loud for me but I am old lol). The iced tea was fresh and perfect!! The service was lackluster (not terrible, but not stellar), but we enjoyed it overall. Would go again.
The brunch was delicious! I ordered the Mother Clucker bowl; the potatoes were perfectly crisp and the chicken was moist and well seasoned. The good and drinks arrived very fast, and our server, Courtney, was very kind and knowledgeable. I cannot recommend this place enough.
The Brussel Sprouts appetizer was good. The salmon sandwich was very good. I paid $1 for truffle powder on the fries. Ive had truffle fries all over the country. I didnt taste anything. My Husband returned the broccoli slaw. Very nice place to chill and have conversation, inside or outside seating. I would return.
Went there for birthday celebration. Party of 3. Brought our own small cake. Was charged $15 for them to keep 8 square cake box in their fridge for about an hour. My daughter knew about $15 cake fee but did not tell me cause she knew I would have walked out. She was correct. I would have gone somewhere else. Service was good. Food mediocre. Sweet potato fries were stone cold and unseasoned.
I ordered crab cakes and truffle fries both where pretty good. The only complaint that I have is that the service was a little slow. Meaning it would take a little bit to see your server. Not to sure if it was because we sat in a area further off from main dinning area.
The BEST potatoes I have ever had, and the fried chicken was phenomenal. Boyfriend had steak and eggs, which was ALSO grand. Hands down the best food we had in Savannah. The waitress was hilarious, the environment was classy without being pretentious, the drinks are mixed well, and the music wasnt annoying at all. We will definitely be back!
We had a great experience here. The food was delicious and the service was really great! We had the honey siracha wings and my girlfriend had the class burger. The food tasted really fresh, we are from out of town, but will be back when we return to the area. Highly recommend. Oh, and the food came out fast!
Some of the worst food Ive had truly. The bean hummus was watery and kind of an insult to actual hummus. The green goddess salad was hard to eat. The avocado was half brown, dressings were watery, and I asked for an addition of salmon to top the salad which was very tiny. Ordered a side of their collard greens too which taste canned, like the Glory brand. However the servers were lovely, absolutely sweet people.
Food came to the table cold after 40 minutes wait. When asked where the food was after 30 minutes the server told us, oh sorry kitchen is busy right now Had the barbecue plate which turned out to be 2 oz of Coleslaw, a couple of pickle slices and Is a small pile of pulled pork. Not what I call a barbecue plate and all of that for only $16. Its not a fan doubt Ill go back.
Went here with my family and the food and staff were absolutely amazing! Green fried tomatoes and chicken tender appetizer(s) were amazing as well as the entrees!! I’m from Iowa and probably one of the best food places I’ve been too in a while. Our server (Michelle I’m pretty sure) was amazing!! Totally recommend
Based on the line outside and the 45 minute wait, I expected this restaurant to be stellar. I am sad to say that I was disappointed. After we were seated and placed our order, it took an additional 35 minutes before our meal arrived. The food looked beautiful, but the taste was just Ok. The meal my wife and I ordered seemed devoid to favor and did not live up to the appearance. After we were done, it took another 20 minutes to get our check. My wife had to get another waiter to take our payment. We went here while visiting Savannah for a few days, but we wont be back.
First and foremost, what restaurant that is of good quality only serves well done burgers? This visit was really disappointing. I could not have the burger cooked to my preference which means the meat was probably frozen and not fresh.I ended up ordering fish and chips with waffle fries. When the order arrived, the fish were small pieces and I got regular fries with coleslaw. I told to the waitress that my order was wrong and she fixed the issue by immediately providing me waffle fries. The immediacy of getting them is an issue as in there was no way for them to be cooked within a minute of me telling her.I’d like to note my food was cold and room temperature. Nothing was hot or seemed fresh from the kitchen. My guess is that the food was prepared and placed under a heat lamp for the next person to order. There was no reason for my food to be cold. There were three cooks, four wait staff and the restaurant was not busy at all except the bar which was staffed by the bar tender. There is no way this was “short staffed” issue. Quality matters. We where there around 5PM on 5/2.Everything was bland and there was zero taste. To top of the experience, the wait staff stood at the kitchen window complaining about everything. One, the lady with the glasses, even gave the hostess a hard time.
We were underwhelmed with this experience. The spot that they sat at us had windows behind it and there were 20-30 flies in the windows flying around us when we got our food. There were lemon seeds and lemon juice on the window ledge so that’s why they were staying. When mentioning it to the waitress after paying her excuse was “that’s what happens when the doors open” and I mentioned again that there were lemon seeds in the window ledge. She said she would tell the manager. The water they gave us tasted weird and they did not offer to replace the water, the waitress said “well we get it out of the soda machine”. The food was good, not great. They did give a good amount of alcohol in their drinks
Finally got to sit inside to eat. Cute place. Starting ordering food during Covid and really liked it. Great choices, fresh ingredients, and friendly staff. They also change the menu occasionally, so you make not see your favorite item everytime, but you will definitely find something new you will fall in love with. Service was quick as well. Cant wait to go again❤
I love this place. Brunch. Lunch. Dinner. I just finished the Salmon Almondine with mash potatoes. Heaven on a plate! Everything I’ve eaten here is amazing (although the fish and chips could be better). It’s a great value for the quality of food. It is so nice to not have to drive downtown for such delicious quality food !
Good food choices, Though the food was vooked perfectly I felt $14.00 was a little high for two fish fillets smaller than my hand which is a size 6 glove and french fries that had two many small pieces even for a quick out restaurant. Would I go back for another dish...absolutely. The shrimp and grits my friend ordered looked and smelled worthy of a triple A restaurant. The service was also 5 Star quality.
Hours are listed on Google as being open on Sundays from 8am-9pm with brunch being served until 2:30pm (note, their website says brunch is from 8am-3pm on Saturday and Sunday). Our group was turned away at 2pm and told they were closed for brunch and wouldn’t be seating anyone until after 3pm. Business hours should be updated to reflect when you’ll actually seat people so we can plan accordingly.
Hubby wanted to go here for a date night on Friday as he had brought our niece here for brunch a few months ago. There was not a long wait. We asked for outside - a girl that was training was told to seat us - had to be reminded to get us silverware. We were outside for about 15min saw a girl go to the other two tables outside - NEVER even spoke to us! The ladies at the hostess stand kept looking out the window at us but did not send anyone. I finally went in to ask about our server and was asked Did you sit yourself? umm no the girl behind you sat us. Well you are not in the system. I said funny since we are the only black couple outside we should be a little hard to miss. She said she would get someone. A few min. later someone came out we gave her our order. Then our server a non white person came to the table and said she would be our server for the remainder of the time. Not sure what their problem was with us but despite the food being good I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THAT PLACE AGAIN!
Theres nothing spectacular here. If youre looking for an upmarket Applebees this is your ticket. Towards that end, theres nothing really bad here either. The best thing they had was the meatloaf, and fried green tomatoes, but those are both gone now in favor of of the same kind of things everyone else is doing at every other trendy place with wrought iron lighting fixtures. In 10-20 years and one of these places has franchised into the our millennial version of a Ruby Tuesday or TGIF, I guess well all just decide to go here when its the only thing no objects to.
The food was good, the service was questionable. The bartender kept running away with my glass every time it was getting close to needing a refill and would just never bring back the glass, eventually another waiter gave me an entire picture of sweet tea to fill my own glass🤷♂️.The place didnt even seem that busy.
Very elegant and upscale lunch spot! We ordered fried green tomatoes for an appetizer, it was so pretty on the plate we hardly wanted to touch it but it was delicious! And our lunch was even better. I had the blackened fish tacos and they were the best fish tacos Ive ever eaten. My grandmother ordered blackened salmon with sweet potato waffle fries and succotash. It looked amazing. She loved it. The place stayed pretty busy the entire time we were there, the environment was very welcoming. We enjoyed our visit and recommend anyone looking for a pleasant lunch or dinner drop in!
Tried to support a local restaurant that advertised open till 3 o’clock, we showed up at 2:15 and they stated we are no longer seating people. Open till 3 o’clock was advertised on the website and on the door you need to replace your hours of operation to say 2 o’clock if you’re not going to seat people.
This familiar place is losing its luster. Menu is less inclined to vegetarian/vegan than, say, two years ago. (I am a carnivore. ) Shrimp & Grits are poorly seasoned, perhaps the worst I have ever eaten in South Carolina or Georgia. Prices are high relative to food quality. In a party of ten, family, the fish and chips were praised, but few other compliments were paid. Fried pickles were good.On the bright side, the food did not distract us from friendly conversation.😉
Currently my favorite restaurant in Savannah. Best chicken fingers I have ever had in my life. Their breakfast is the best around period! I keep telling people the 5 spot is the place to go. Don’t even get me started on the Long Island that is perfectly mixed. If I ever hit the lottery I would literally eat there everyday for breakfast.Update: 3/30/21Went out to eat at 4:00 and sat outside with family. The server was dry, and had no personality. The food was good but the issue was with the chicken tenders. We placed an order of chicken tenders and when they arrived we noticed that there was 4. Upon further investigation, we asked the waiter and he said that the chicken tenders do NOT have a specific amount. However, the menu clearly says 5 chicken tenders. No comp or even a sorry came from this waiter. The service was not good but the food was surprisingly refreshing. It’s no longer worthy of 5 stars so I am moving it down to a 2 star restaurant as of right now. Sadly, this could of been a better experience had the waiter addressed the issue like a professional. Shrugging it off and not taking it seriously makes me hesitate to even go back to this establishment moving forward.
Fabulous food. Based on the reviews we read we opted to eat here and so glad we did. The truffle fries were delicious. My husband had the chicken pot pie which he said is the best he ever had and from the taste I had, I would agree. I had the Chicken salad croissant, which was to die for. I ended up taking more than half home (because I filled up on truffle fries!). We shared the left over today an it was just as good. If I lived in Savannah this would be a regular for me. Oh and the waitress was wonderful too!
Took our number to call us when our table was ready and said it would be 15-20 minutes. Never ended up calling us. Decided to go to the cute coffee shop next door and had a delicious and less pricey meal!**Manager ended up handling this very well, listened to my concerns and took action to make this better for next time, thank you management for aiming to do better! Will make sure we give you a chance when we visit Savannah next
The Manager Is highly confusing. The manager and I spoke about the new employee she hired and apologized for her behavior to me and then two weeks later she emails my manager like I am a little boy I can choose where ever I want to eat as long as its money neighbor or not. If my food is not to my satisfaction I am going to leave a review. So everyone knows whats going on. Period and if you dont like It I cant help that but I didnt take it too kindly that you emailed my manager because your embarrassed of your employees behaviors I cant help that sorry. And I would think a grown woman would come to talk to me personally like I did before. But Instead, you handled this like a child which I understand. I have taken this issue To River Street sweets HR for her even bringing that email up to me. Hr said”neighbor or not you are entitled to leave a review for anybody” the case is closed.
I am on a very limited diet, being a local I know there are a lot of traditional places that dont accommodate all of the specifics I need. 5 Spot went out of their way and changed the fish taco to the fish sandwich for me and put it on gluten free bread, and switched out the cole slaw for sweet potato fries; as I cant have dairy, honey, sugar, soy, gluten, nightshade vegetables, etc. I got to have my first whole meal out in a long time! Also, the young lady server with bluish hair was awesome!! She even went a step further and had them put the aoli on the side when I forgot to ask. Kudos to their food, patience, and their service industry peeps!!
5 Spot is one of the best local restaurants in the area. The staff are always pleasant and will go out of their way to help with anything, eat-in or take out. The menu has an abundance of options, from soups and salads to burgers and entrees. Definitely one of my favorite spots
We were seated and it took awhile for someone to come to the table. Although is was New Years Eve, the restaurant was not overly busy. Once Jasmine came to our table, we received outstanding service. She was well worth the wait. Jasmine was informative and provide alternatives when menu items werent available. The food was excellent.
The service was very slow, we order the spinach dip as a appetizer and it was brought out cold. The waitress took it back, but by the time she brought it back out our food was out. Our sweet tea was mixed with coke. They had a busy morning, so they were very apologetic. They didnt charge us for the appetizer
Good as always. I normally get the bacon blue cheese burger with the sweet potato fries. But this last time I went I decided to try the Cajun chicken alfredo dish. It was pretty good. In my opinion the Alfredo sauce was a bit on the thin side, but that wouldnt have been that bad if they would have served it with a roll or a piece of bread of some sort to sop it up with. And in terms of the Cajun part of the dish I could taste no Cajun seasoning at all. I know they cant make things heavily season because not everybody can handle them or have certain things like salt and thats perfectly fine but I was ordering a dish that said Cajun I would have at least like to have tasted the Cajun.
The food and service were all around very good! The only thing that was disappointing was I made reservations because we had a large party and they said they couldnt find our name when we got there. But they were really nice about it and we didnt have to wait too long for them to seat us.
Very cool place with a great menu. I had three pancake of the month (or week?) It was latkes and they were really good. My wife got an Irish coffee that was amazingly ratioed ;) Im super happy we have this place, we just moved to Savannah and our house is about a half mile walk away. Looking forward to lots of breakfasts and branches here.
Service was terrible. We were greeted and seated by our hostess and was told our waitress would be with us in just a moment. Waitress never came so our hostess had to take our drink order. Our waitress finally came, but never greeted us or introduced herself. We ordered our food and an appetizer. Our appetizer was brought out by another waitress that wasn’t ours while our waitress was hanging out by the kitchen. Our waitress brought our food out to us but never came back to check on us or get us refills. A waitress that had tables on the other side of the restaurant came to check on us, got us refills, took our plates, and got our check for us because she saw how our waitress was not being attentive at all.
Mostly good experiences, 1 slightly disappointing. Food has always been good, fair prices, and good drink menu. Their peanut butter brownie however was not that at all. Just a big slice of chocolate cake with no trace of peanut butter in, on, or around it. Decent chocolate cake, but not what I had ordered and after leaving it with 3 bites taken was not offered a replacement or comp. Not a big deal, but probably will stick with their savory food from now on. Still happy and will return.
Just because someone is alone doesnt mean that they want to sit in the bar. The food was great, but the service was rock bottom. When people want pepper vinegar for their collards, they dont want white grubs in an otherwise empty bottle. Twenty minutes and two empty pepper vinegar bottles later, I finally got one with about a table spoon of vinegar in it and absolutely no pepper flavor. You can only refill these with vinegar once or twice and the flavor is gone. Do yourself a favor and go to the dollar store and get half a dozen bottles.
It was ok... i ordered a Blueberry Pancake, scrambled eggs with bacon, tomato, mushrooms, onions and peppers which was really good. And cheese grits which were ok. I appreciate the fresh blueberries in the pancake but they were kind of sour. I wasnt wowed but it was ok.
We checked this place out after discovering that the Macaroni and Cheese festival was a private event - which BROKE my daughters heart. They advertised having the best macaroni and cheese in town and it is true! We were seated immediately and the staff was eager to make my 8 year old daughter super happy with as much Mac and cheese as she could eat! The price points are fair and you get a good amount of food. There are also great vegan/vegetarian options as well!
The food is great but lately I’ve had terrible service. On two occasions, I called in food and was told it would be ready in 25ish minutes. Upon arriving to pick up the food 35 minutes later, I was asked to wait a few more minutes as they were just waiting on one item. 20 more minutes later, the food still was not ready. When I asked whether it was going to be ready soon, I was met with hostility and no answer OR explanation as to why my food was still not done. On the most recent occasion I asked for my money back and for my order to be cancelled. Such a disappointment.
Great place. I have no idea what people on yelp are talking about. The food is excellent. Either they are expecting it to be fine dining or they are weirded out by the not run-of-the-mill menu. The fried green tomato sandwich was great. I had fried green tomatoes at the supposedly southern Paula Deans and they were just crap compared to this (or compared to anything for that matter.) Thick and meaty tomato with feta cheese as well. The waiters have all been overly kind and accommodating. I would like to see some homemade chips or something as I hate bagged chips.
I really like this place overall and i think they have the best breakfast in town. But i have had a few bad experiences there. This past Saturday around 4:30 a friend and I went to the bar to order drinks and food to go. The place was almost empty then. We ordered our food on separate checks. The bartender was very preoccupied with counting the money. To my amazement she actually walked off for a while leaving the cash register drawer wide open!!! There was one man sitting at the bar closer to the register and we were directly across it, full of cash and wide open. When she brought our orders out she went over everything that was in my bag--food for both my husband and myself. She said what was in my friends bag too. I dropped my friend off and went to the other side of town where i live only to get a call that the order was mixed up. She had my entree in her bag. I had hers and my husbands in mine. I called the restaurant. The manager was too busy to talk with me. I left my phone number and he never called back!!!!
The food was delicious. Prices were avg to moderately high for lunch. The environment was clean and comfortable. The service was as slow as molasses on a winters day. While friendly enough the staff acted as though they had zero concern for how long you were there. This is NOT the place for a quick bite.
We went in (for the first time) on a Friday night. Got a table right away. I had the fried green tomato blt and my grandmother got a burger. Both were amazing and they have the best fries ever! I dont know why people are saying its overpriced. We ate for $18 which is pretty good for a dinner for two. Will definitely come back next time Im in Savannah.

2022-06-10Great atmosphere and yummy food. Their take on fried green tomatoes was so yummy. And the sweet potato fries were so crunchy and delicious. A huge thanks to Gabby and her attentiveness. She was absolutely wonderful!Went back a second time... The Spicy Jalapeno Burger, sweet potato waffle fries delivered amazing flavors, and their Gaslight Mule.... Only $5! Then Gabby told me about the Lemon Blueberry Pound Cake that they had tonight... I took a slice home!!! Yummy!!!

2022-02-06My husband and I split a 5 Spot Classic Burger and the Hot Honey Chicken Sammy, both with truffle fries (well worth the $1 upcharge!). We also tried a $5 Gaslight Mule cocktail. Delicious lunch! Cute atmosphere and friendly servers. We’d definitely recommend this restaurant!

2022-04-14We stopped by for a weekday lunch. It was a very pleasant atmosphere and Tiffany was on point. We had the Caesar Salad, Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich, and kids burger. Everything was very tasty. Wed like to come back again.

2021-12-15Apparently there are two locations, havent been to the other but this is a great location. Just outside of the historic district so you have the crowds, waits, and parking issues. So this already starts off well. This establishment is pretty big with outdoor seating as well. Definitely good for groups. As far as the food goes, the fried green tomatoes were extra crispy but still juicy in the middle. The goat cheese was extra creamy. Definitely recommend. The pancakes were great and the chicken bowl was wellPrepared. The crispy potatoes were excellent. I wouldRecommend this place if visiting the area.

2022-04-07We are new in town and have adopted this 5 Spot as one of our new haunts. Tiffany is a great bartender- fun, engaging, knowledgeable of the menu. All interactions we’ve had with other staff have been great. Always greeted at the door. The food has also been wonderful I tend to get the Buddha Bowl every time but my partner has tried many diff dishes and loved them.

2022-03-31We had a big group with lots of kids. They were very very accommodating. The general manager even stopped by a few times to make sure everything was going well. The food was fantastic and you cant beat the price.

2022-05-14We enjoyed our dinner at The 5 Spot. Nice restaurant close to downtown Savannah. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Didnt get any food pics this time but the food was delicious. The wings were hot, crispy, and full of flavor. I ordered the fish and chips, it did not disappoint. The tartar sauce was so creamy and delicious! Good food, good drinks, and good service. 5 stars.

2021-10-09Great food! Great service! Delicious drinks! We had the peach and strawberry bellinis, the sweater weather sangria, the fried green tomato Benedict, shrimp and grits and the steak and eggs! The steak was cooked PERFECTLY and everything was seasoned just right! My boyfriend said the water tasted a little off to him, but it tasted fine to me so I dont think thats their problem, just his! Haha. Highly recommend for brunch! We look forward to coming back for dinner soon!

2022-02-15Ill get straight to it... the collard greens and bacon dip is the best appetizer in Savannah! Maybe even the tri-state area! I walked in trying to burn a few minutes by enjoying a cocktail and had no plans to eat. I saw this listed on the menu and said I will be trying that. OMG. Holy cow. What happened?I was told that the wings are delicious too. I just might try them next time I go back for this appetizer. That just might be tomorrow.Im sad I didnt get some to go.

2022-02-23We absolutely loved our food at The 5 Spot Midtown! My husband and I are both gluten-free due to thyroid issues. They dont have a huge selection, but I got the Buddha Bowl (mostly cauliflower and Brussels sprouts) with shrimp (about 6), and it was to die for...so flavorful! Hubby got the shrimp and grits, which he really liked, but we think they were a bit heavy on the pepper or some spicey spice. He still ended up eating it all though. But let me tell you what really made the experience enjoyable... our server Jordyn! We think she is the sharpest server we have literally ever had! Usually, we think of things after the fact and have to look around for our server, like asking to have our 7yo sons food come out first/as soon as its ready, asking for a drink refill, asking for the check, asking for to-go containers and asking for a to-go cup to take home that last refill of Arnold Palmer. Jordyn anticipated ALL of that and actually asked us before we could ask her!!! She is ahhhhmazing!
