The 500 in other cities:
I was recently searching for a new apartment community and found out about The 500 through a third party website. Aaron wasted no time to contact me to schedule an appointment to come in and view the 1 bedroom floor plans. He was very warm and welcoming upon my arrival. The 500 practices safety standards with COVID-19, which I could appreciate, but that did not deter my experience. I really like the inviting community and how it is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city but yet convenient to everything. The 1 bedroom floor plans were very nice! Both were updated with wood flooring, appliances, and each unit has its own separate spacious front patio with a front and back door entry and exit. The added amenities like the gym, pool, and even a package facility just in case you have deliveries was a bonus. This community was a top contender in my decision but mostly it was because of the great customer service I was provided from Aaron. He had such a wonderful attitude and great follow up skills. If you are looking to live in the city but need or desire a spacious garden style apartment and a great management team, take my advice and go see Aaron at The 500.
I’ve been living here for 3years now and I really enjoy it. The management team is really awesome and they really make you feel like you’re in a community especially with the help of Nicki and Sterling, from apartment life, they organized the most amazing events for the community and genuinely care about us connecting. There are a lot of amenities I like, the community app is great, the mailroom and work center are too. I’m writing this review today because I think it’s important to highlight how much this management has contributed to me feeling safe, welcomed and at home. Thank you guys!!
I just signed my lease and moved into these apartments. There were a lot of mixed reviews so I decided to take my chances. I wanted to leave a nice review as I worked with Chris and everything seemed like it would go smoothly. I moved in last Friday. Since being in my apartment my gas is not working properly it keeps shutting off and I have to light my pilot manually which I shouldn’t have to do. My dishwasher is not working. I have stinkbugs in my apartment every night. And I have no hot water. It has been three business days since I’ve moved in and none of these problems seem to be a concern to the leasing office. Like all they care about is moving people in. I’m very disappointed because thats not the vibe I got when I signed my lease. I am paying 1600 a month so I should not be having these problems. If I could leave no stars I would. Hopefully these problems get sorted out so that I’m able to enjoy my apartment the way I should and I can fix my review.
Up and coming location. Price cant be beat. New management handles their business and maintenance team is top notch. I am really looking forward to the new amenity center to open next month and for the monthly community events. I really feel like I am part of a community here. Update 9/24/2020: Still loving it here. I really appreciate all the efforts to keep up safe during COVID. Management has gone above and beyond. Definitely renewing my lease.
Moving in here has been a great experience! I came from Brooklyn and the difference is amazing. The complex is spacious with lots of trees and grassy areas. The tenants have been nothing but friendly so far, and the staff are wonderful. Aaron helped us with signing the lease and made every step of the process painless. He also met us and gave us a tour of the whole place upon our arrival. My girlfriend is an actress and was doing a play via zoom (because Covid) and due to a shipping error, did not receive some of the supplies she needed. Sally, the manager, went out on her own and bought the supplies for her because she knew we didn’t have a car. Can’t recommend the place enough!
Todays date dec 31 December December .2021 .I needed to close this chapter and not take this energy to 2022Listen guys if you should read anyones review it me .i made 4 friends living in the complex And we both moved out and never renew our lease . Because we have similar experiences. The apartment is not healthy at all . I had a respiratory issues while staying there. There was mold in my apartment . Which gave me health issues and when I complain they told me to move my chair and put it somewhere else etc and also told me well it an old apartment so that is expected . I was in awe . There is always crack and walls and they will just plaster it and don’t do anything. The Managment as well is very poor . There will be nice to you when you are about to move in but once you move in they become brutal and don’t care .My friends left because they had roaches in their apartament and Their management was bad .The security is also bad. Please don’t move here a word is enough for the wise .
I stumbled upon this location through a friend. Im glad I did. Ive been searching for a place closer to the city with a great price point. The 500s offered exactly what I needed. The community has recently been going under remodeling. Plus! All new appliances and fixtures. The property is tucked away from the city which is perfect. It also gives you complete access in a matter of minutes. The location was just one of the reasons Ive decided to move here. My leasing agent Francis Cedeño was exceptional. I had a lot of questions, concerns that he promptly addressed. He went out of his way to make sure my tour and application process went smooth. I couldnt have asked for a better agent. Cant wait to work with him during the move in process. Thanks 500. Keep up the great work
The location is perfect, the interiors are nicely updated and the sense of community is unmatched. Even through the pandemic they have found ways to keep us connected by having coffee and food trucks, farmers market, pumpkin patch, flower bar, outdoor movie night. They even offer free virtual fitness and cooking classes. I am very pleased with my decision to live at The 500.
Ive lived at The 500 since January and for the most part its been a good experience. The management team are very responsive and on top of things (shout out to Aaron!) and the Apartment Life Coordinators, Nicki and Sterling, are very good about planning fun events even during Covid times. My one complaint with this complex is the neighbors. Where I live is pretty noisy and the people around me are fond of leaving trash in the parking areas. Other than that its been a great place to live.
We have lived here for 4 years, through many property management companies. The latest one however, seems to be finally taking things in the right direction. For years weve had issues with getting our mail or the time it took for the property manager to respond to us about complaints, but with a new mail room, package concierge lockers weve seen vast improvement. I have high hopes that this new company will finally improve this complex. They still have a ways to go, but I think they are on the right track. Also Aaron in the office is super helpful!
In 2019:We have been here for about a year now. We are generally happy with our stay. From the first day onwards, Sparkle has been of great help in any problem that we have faced. Chris has been nice, too. I should say that the new management is working hard. The complex is very clean. Trash is collected on time. I can say, maintenance service is also good. Our problems are not always fully solved but whenever we called for a maintenance service, someone came to fix it.We can recommend this complex to future residents. In 2020:Maintenance service is working well, pest control have helped a lot, the office staff is helpful and kind. However,For the last couple of months, we got heavy smoker (marijuana) neigbors whose numbers are increasing every month. The number of these people have increased so much that we do not feel very safe anymore. In 2021:I have always been able to reach someone when I called the leasing office, and they always did a good job to solve my problem. The community activities (movies, trivia, virtual classes and others) helped a lot during the pandemic. The water cutoffs are very rare and it has been fixed within the scheduled time.Environment is very clean and trash is being collected on time.If I didn’t need a larger house and if the neigbors didn’t smoke, I would very much like to stay here.
I currently live here. All I can say, I was lucky to get an affordable clean new unit when I moved. I like the complex is diverse. I don’t know my neighbors that’s my fault but everybody seem to keep to themselves, which is a plus. Yeah the water bill can be a little high but it is what it is. I am so fortunate to be roach FREE, I only have the occasional cricket problem. I have a personal exterminator for those who want to get rid of anything and everything. We have NEW MANAGEMENT and Shelly is still here, I only deal with her she has been pleasant since the first initial process till now. I don’t know the new staff, but they appear friendly and professionalThey appear to be making some cosmetic changes to the exterior. I’m excited to see what’s in store, I will stay as long as possible unless Shelly leaves or they raise the rent crazily. I’m giving them a 4/5 because I have yet explored the other amenities such as gym, pool, or clubhouse. I will update in a few months.
Been here only for two months and I already had enough of this place. Had a huge leak in the bathroom within 15 days of moving, they fixed it but never resurfaced the tub, outlets do not work, doors do not close. I have been without washer machine for 10 days and they dont even care to fix it. They charge you every month but never pick the trash!!!!!!!!!! Been calling the office everytime for nothing. Are you going to lower my rent because of this? HELL NO! Ive been paying my rent on time and being a good resident for nothing. Its supposed to be a freshly renovated apartment with brand new appliances but nothing works here.Jesus Christ how hard can be to put a freaking order to fix a wash machine? Dude I work in the television industry and I cant afford to use dirty clothes because my incompetent apartment complex cant do something so basic as fixing that. Im so tired of this place already.Chris is nice and reasonable but thats about the only good thing in this place. And dont even bother responding this, you obviously dont care about your residents and youre not fooling anybody saying that you care and want to speak about those concerns like apartment complexes always do in google reviews.
This place is Amazing!! Awesome staff, they are very respectful and helpful. I called a thousand times asking questions and they answered every single one without hesitation. Francis was the biggest help, and he made me feel comfortable and I felt he was truly listening to everything I said. The gym is spectacular and the pool is a huge resort style pool, and the business center is huge as well. I highly recommend the 500 and ALL of the staff even the property manager was very helpful. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
We love our apartment here! We’ve lived here for 2 1/2 years and really like it. Our area is very quiet, a nice peaceful spot in the city-I can hear birds chirping in the morning! I spend hours on my giant front porch, swinging in my hammock and reading books. The inside is also very nice and super roomy. I’ve seen people complain about bugs on here, but the office offers pest control-the bug person comes out every Monday, you just tell the office and they will add you to the list. We had bugs, but once the pest control person came out, they took care of it.
I love living at The 500! I work in midtown and my fiance is a grad student at Georgia Tech. When we were looking for apartments in Atlanta we wanted something that was close to those locations, safe, affordable, modern, and not the size of a shoe box. I didnt think it was possible to check all those boxes until we found The 500! These apartments were built in probably the 60s or 70s but theyve all been renovated. That means the walls are super thick (I never ever hear my neighbors!!) but from the inside they look like theyre brand new. My favorite part about our apartment is how big our bedroom is. We have a king sized bed, two dressers, two nightstands, a massive cat tree, and still have plenty of floor space for the two of us to do our at home workouts together. The guest room is also really big. They hired apartment life coordinators about a year ago and they host lots of community events. Because of Covid theyve done lots of virtual events with prizes (weve won $75 in Amazon gift cards from Trivia, a basket full of cat toys and a $25 PetSmart gift certificate from a cute pet contest, etc.). The only complaint I have is I wish there was more storage space, but the large rooms make up for the lack of storage space in my opinion. Ive lived here for one year and we signed a lease to live here a second year. I will miss this apartment so much when we eventually move to a different city! 10/10 highly recommend living here.
Love the location. BEST staff Ive worked with in a very, very long time. Camelitia and Alex were absolutely amazing and helpful throughout the entire move-in process. They assisted with the move-in inspection to assure my water got hot, my dishwasher and washing machine worked, as well as plumbing and making sure the toilets flushed and the showers drained. I really appreciate their time and dedication with the process. Highly Recommended
I’ve been living here for a year and a half now and I can safely say I barely have any complaints about this apartment complex. The office staff is super nice, especially Chris. They care about everyone living here and make sure to tend to us when needed. The maintenance staff are also super friendly and always come in good timing. I’ve never had to wait super long for them to arrive the very few times I’ve had to call. Would definitely recommend living here!
My wife and I ultimately didnt end up renting here, but it was a VERY close decision. We loved everything we saw and would have been happy if The 500 had ended up being the right place for us. In particular, the leasing staff of Sally and Francis were warm, friendly and helpful. Id definitely recommend this complex to anyone who knows they want a great apartment in a good location.
This is great place to make Atlanta your home! The location is perfect. My leasing consultant was Aaron and he is extremely helpful with any questions I had in the move in process. My 1 bedroom/1 bath apartment had just been renovated before I moved in, I loved it so much! I never had any problems while living here. If I ever move back to Atlanta, I will surely come back to The 500!
I toured the property last week and I must say Francis and Aaron were absolutely amazing. Their attention to detail and impeccable customer service definitely drew me in! Although I chose to lease elsewhere, if they run the property with the same customer service and excellence then I’m sure it would’ve been a great property to live at! If you’re looking to move, I definitely suggest giving Francis or Aaron a call!
Good:1. Location (close to my school) and price.2. Well maintained pool.3. Friendly staff. Chris is very helpful.Bad:1. Old apartment homes. They try to patch them up by means of aesthetic upgrades but not sure if that works.2. Constant small scale uncoordinated renovations - often messes up the hot water/internet in the building.3. Frequent water cuts. As frequent as once/twice a month.4. No in-house laundry in the (my) apartment and they closed down the laundry room for nearly 3 months for renovations.
Great location, amenities, but most of all, service.Aaron was kind, professional, and super helpful with me and my speedy move in. He stayed late to get my lease approved and even lent me a heater until the gas company could turn on my gas. I couldn’t ask for anything more. The apartment is updated and very nice. 10/10 from me!
Customer service is very unprofessional and ratchet. Went without heat for 2 months, and now no hot water in my unit. Don’t know how long that’s going to take because maintenance takes months to get out to you and fix problems. They’ll tell you they’re coming today or tomorrow and never show up. People entered my apartment without any notice and left all of my lights on. Every month it’s a new problem with these apartments and prices are too high to not get service when requested.UPDATE: Things have not changed one bit. Management is still garbage. Work orders are never completed unless you’re in DIRE need. All they want to do is collect your money, which would be fine if you got what you paid for, but you NEVER do. They’re trying to remodel the place so water gets cut off at least twice a week. I’ve called to report my neighbor in building Y for playing extremely loud music but management told me it wasn’t during “quiet hours”, I’ve never heard of that before but ok. I hope they shut this place down. The 1 star is for Chris. He’s the only helpful person throughout this entire process.
I stayed here for 6 months. This is the worst apartment I have lived in!1. No water once per month. Terrible!!! I have to go to hotel for a day! And they have late notice And delay repairing! It will ruin ur life.2. No electricity once per two months.3. The apartment is old and already built for several years4. Sometimes you will lose packages due to its awful management5. The only benefit is near Georgia tech but still need drive 10 minutes. If u want to find an apartment which is near Georgia tech. You can go to other apartments(Even 499 is better) not this one. This one is the worst one!
I have lived here for 6 months and these are the issues I have dealt with:- leak in my apartment on 3 separate occasions (apparently due to construction)- heat not working and needed to be fixed 4 times (I can turn it on 1-2 times a day now and it will work SOMETIMES)- dirty gunk from the sewer in my bathtub- water shut off at least twice a month (I work from home a lot so this affects me)- lots of dead bugs and roaches on my floor (at least theyre dead!)- wooden pieces falling on my bathroom floor from construction happening upstairsAdvice if you still want to live here:- Ask for pictures of the apartment or check it out 1 week before you move in b/c my apartment was not cleaned at all during move-in- Avoid living in a downstairs apartment because you will not only HEAR the footsteps but you will feel it too (my ceiling light shakes). I can also hear the music and TV from my apt upstairs.- Look into the NEWLY just renovated apartments. My apt was said to be renovated 2 years ago, but they did a horrible job, so look into the ones that are just renovated (it will have light grey flooring instead of brown ones) and they may have less issuesThe one star is definitely for the great location and Chris for being understanding.Lastly, the leasing staff know of all these issues I have had to dealt with and I spoke with them on multiple occasions, but I have been told that as long as these issues were FIXED then that is all they can do.
I’d like to start off by saying I don’t write reviews ever, but I felt compelled to keep as many people away from this place as possible. This is BY FAR the worst place I’ve ever lived. Our first issue was our leaking air conditioning. We notified them when the air conditioner started leaking, which they neglected for two weeks. Water leaked into our storage closet and into my roomate’s room. They wound up having to take out drywall in our living room and hallway. They never replaced the drywall they took out of our apartment, so we had exposed foundation in our apartment for two months. We are moving out in a week and a half and they’ve still yet to fix it. They also had to pull up and replace carpet in my roommate’s room. They still didn’t fix our air conditioner, but they stopped the leaking. We went two more weeks in JULY in ATLANTA with NO AIR CONDITIONING.After that debacle, our air conditioner broke AGAIN, which they neglected for two more weeks. We called every day for two weeks. Our air conditioner problems caused our power bill to go over $250 which they eventually compensated on our rent.SO MANY BUGS... we’ve told them on numerous occasions that we had a massive roach problem which has gone neglected like every other problem we’ve had at this place. They’re in cabinets, walls, everywhere. It’s disgusting. I have no idea who they use for pest control but they should look into someone else.In what seems like a minor problem at this point, our kitchen also leaked due to the complex remodeling the unit on top of ours.Mold was an issue as well. The management is awful. I’ve never lived at a place with more incompetent management. They don’t get anything done and Beverly is really hard to get in touch with, which is really frustrating because they defer major problems to her.You can tell who actually has lived at this apartment and who was paid to write reviews. Hope y’all find this helpful.
Pros:-Awesome friendly staff who legitimately try their best to help everyone there-Someone will always come to fix whatevers wrong (though sometimes it may take awhile to get the right person for the job in)-Its much more quiet than most of the apartment complexes around here with a large sound barrier and a wooded area blocking road noise-The gym is pretty much always open and its pretty clean most days. The pools great too.-Its always well lit at night and feels fairly safe in the evening with lots of other people out and walking around. Its also in a good area for the police to get there pretty quickly too. Theyve been here in under 10 minutes in the two occasions my friend at the Crest and I have had to report something to them.-The appliances in the renovated apartments are really nice. Weve never had a problem with any of them.-You probably get the most space for the price you pay of anywhere in North Midtown. We have three people and two pets in a two bedroom and it never feels cramped.-The buildings are set up so you only share walls with neighbors on one side and whoevers above or below you. No extra noise.-The school bus will drive all the way up the hill to pick up kiddos in the morning if you need it.-My favorite place in Atlanta that Ive lived at so far, and much quieter than the other places on Peachtree St. NW and Northside DriveCons:-Even though the apartments are renovated, the buildings themselves are pretty old. We have to spray Raid and put bug traps around the doorways, windows, and plumbing openings fairly consistently once a month to make sure we dont get extra six-legged roommates crawling in. As long as you do that though, you shouldnt find any bugs.- Everyone has to use xfinity for their wifi, but xfinity can get pretty bad about about maintaining service around here. Expect the wi-fi to go down for a few hours once every other month.
The murder was the last straw...!I moved into these apartments one month ago, and I honestly wish I hadn’t. Not only was my air not working for the first 2 weeks (in the middle of July) I also have not had a working ice maker in my freezer since I’ve moved here, despite making numerous maintenance request both online and in person. Updates are being made to improve the property however, it is very old and many of the ac units are going out. Management is also not very prompt to complete maintenance requests (I.e., me not having ice for over a month). Lots of empty promises. To make matters worse, there was a murder here yesterday, which has left many residence feeling unsafe. The price is cheap for the area and the apartments are fairly nice on the inside. However, in this new resident’s opinion, the cons are starting to far outweigh the pros.
Currently living here at The 500 Apartments. Chris assisted me with my application process and he was awesome. Explained everything from the cost and the unit. Made sure I was in a building I liked in the complex and it had updated appliances. If you are looking to move here reach out to Chris as he is the go to guy. Christy is awesome as well. The mobile app is extremely helpful to use and I love to my rent with it because it saves me time throughout my day to pay my rent with one click. You can submit workorders and get notifications for packages as well.Pretty good.
It has now been two weeks with water damage in my apartment. I have spoken to both the manager and asst. manager and the head of maintenance. We had to force them to come to our apartment, then they left a giant hole in our ceiling for 5 days. Then only half finished the job. It is still not done two weeks later. We had to reinstall our own light fixtures, that were full of water, sitting like that. I’ve lived here two years and unfortunately the new company only seems to care about getting their new renovations done not the apartments that are already in place. The inside matters more than the outside but not to them.
I pay 1600 for a two bedroom. That price is okay but honestly I could’ve gotten a nicer apartment elsewhere for that price. They began to do reservations for the amenities which I was totally fine with, but now they have closed all amenities down! 1600 and I can’t even get amenities?!!!!! Totally not worth the price.
The management has improved over the months and our apartment is very clean and modern with new appliances etc. However, please improve security at the property. With all the incidents happening, as a resident I do not feel safe here anymore as anybody can enter the property without any codes or a fob key. Please take this in consideration as it has been a serious concern amongst the residents here. Thank you.
Looking to move here? Dont! Youll regret it.Ive been at 500 Northside for about 9 months now and definitely counting down the seconds til Im able to leave this community and be comfortable where I lay my head.-The buildings are old.-Office staff is unprofessional.-Maintenance seems to be severely understaffed.-There are roaches everywhere.-Apartments are not up to date.-No request is an urgent one.-Management doesnt seem to really care once you sign your lease. If youre looking for an decent price to stay within the city then look no further because the price isnt too bad here but, considering the number of issues you will definitely encounter, youll find that you do not get what you pay for.Dont believe me, just knock on the door of any other resident here and Im sure theyll check off everything on my list and might have a few more things to add to it.Please look in, out and all the way around town before you just sign a lease with this community. It has a 2.2 rating for a reason.
DO NOT LIVE HERE! I normally do not write reviews because they are normally biased and based on bad experiences. However, this apartment complex is the exception for me. Terrible customer service, bugs for days, terrible reinventions (like, I can see outside through my doors crack, terrible. Every time they try cleaning up the ground with leave blowers, I have new dirt and bugs in my apartment because the door doesnt touch the bottom. Also, cable guy had to fix wiring because the cheap company they hired does not pay attention to detail), and my dishwasher broke in November, its still isnt fixed (go figure). The water bill is over $70 for a one bedroom and was told because Atlanta water changed their prices. Thats a lie because my friend lives in Atlanta and never pays over $40.00 and shes on a meter with a washer and dryer in her apartment. They scam you in thinking the rent is cheap and hit you with a water bill that is twice as much as I have ever paid for water. They need a new management team and new employees. I should have taken the reviews seriously and moved to Marietta instead, at least the place didnt have this many bad reviews. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS DUMP!
As i sit here for the second time in 2 weeks unable to sleep because maintenance cant figure out how to fix a carbon monoxide alarm in the empty apartment next to me, i thought it would be a good time to write a review of this dump.As for the apartment, its not bad. As for the maintenance, staff and their incompetence, the only thing i wish is to give a rating of 0 stars, but i dont think that is possible.Maintenance on my bathroom fan and washer only took me taking 3 days off of work because the bedroom door could not lock for me to lock my dog in. However, i had to ask about 13 times for someone to come in and fix it. The front desk people have the worst attitude. I am almost positive that when i go ask them to fix the current issue with the detector in the neighbors apt, they will say it is not an emergency and it will take some time.Pathetic. Go find a bridge to sleep under. I am sure the maintenance will be on equal par.**update** its been 2 weeks. alarm keeps going off. Great by the staff of answering my email (they did not) and fixing the issue (not fixed)**update**3 weeks after. alarm going off still. 3 emails sent. 3rd night i have to sleep in my living room. what a great apartment complex.
Been living here for 2 years, dealing with management that is anything but responsive. The first year wasn’t bad. It was quiet, pretty nice, and just Basic apartment complex problems, but since about 10 months in this place has gone completely downhill. l I’ve had leaks in my ceiling that took over a week to have fixed. The Dry wall should have been replaced since there was mold on the other side inside of the water heater room(and still is)but they just put a patch on it. Literally just put a piece of drywall on it and called it “fixed,” leaving the mildewed and mold covered insulation inside. They took away the dumpsters for our trash and make us use a trash valet service. It would be okay because it reduces the stray cats and bugs, but they fine you for something as simple as leaving the trash can they provided outside after 9am. It’s a complete joke. The worst thing is they offer apartments with no washer or dryer hookups, then half of the washers in the laundry center (which is about 12 total washers) are broken down and they do NOTHING to fix them. So you have dozens of tenants waiting and literally fighting over washers and dryers. It’s absolutely pathetic. Not to mention the laundry center has roaches everywhere and they increased the price per wash out of nowhere. On any given night my entire apartment will reek of marijuana(which I’m not against smoking...but I don’t want my place smelling like a blunt when I have family over). The walls are paper thin with no insulation so you can literally here your neighbors have a conversation if you want. I’ve even had to call the cops on my neighbors for literally fighting outside my front door. The only reason I give this place 1star is because the location and price. But it’s not worth it anymore. You should only contemplate living here if it’s temporary and you have no ther choice.*EDIT*Not even one day after I posted this, there has been no hot water for the entire complex. I’ve been told it was going to be resolved in 1 day and now 1 day later I’m being told that “they haven’t heard from Atlanta Gas alight” and that they “have called them every hour but just don’t know when they’ll be here.”Utter incompetence and straight lack of care for the tenants.
I live here for about 2 years, and the only advantage for this apartment was cheap and close to midtown area. However, we got notification that the rent will be 350 more per month. Okay, 1200 per month for 2 bedroom apartment is not that terrible. BUT!1. The maintenance in this community is super SLOW! We noticed that we need to replace our food disposal last November and kept informing them. Finally, we got replaced just last week, the mid January. MORE THAN 2 MONTHS to get our food disposal replaced! I guess we have a super fancy one.2. Water is sometimes be turned off. Just like this week, the water is off yesterday and today afternoon. Without any notice, just like a big surprise when we want to prepare food for dinner or find out no water to flush the toilet. No one said anything beforehand, and no one knows will it keep happening how many days in the future. So just be prepared to let this surprise you at some point when you really need water! These are just 2 main reasons I am really upset about. Other than that, you can live in a place with less bugs(roaches, ants), a cleaner laundry room with all washing machine functioning when you pay 1200 per month.Never recommend this apartment!
I stayed in this place for two years. It’s a great place to live. They had a change of management recently and the new management (Stonemark) is fantastic. Very prompt about fixing any issue in the apartment and very helpful with move-in and move-out. The price is great and apartment halls and bedrooms are huge. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking in Atlanta. And a special thanks to Chris for being very proactive and helpful in making my move out happen seamlessly.
WARNING:This complex is a joke, do NOT move here. They have changed the name to make it hard for you to find the reviews. The previous name is Hartford Place. Search this to find reviews!!!!I have been here for a year and have had nothing but problems. Water leaks, air conditioning not working, heat not working, no water for days at a time 3-4 times a year. The appliances are old and dont work worth a ****. The pool is filthy, the laundry room stinks and the equipment is garbage. The maintenance staff is inept and the management staff are jerks. The staff here is lazy. I reported something broken, they fixed it after 2 months. They also dont notice us water outage. You never know when there will be no water. This is the worst apartments ever . Bad and irresponsible service with now high price to pay. Stay away from this horrible place.
** Updated **Finally, I am getting out of this horrible horrible community.- Dont believe the high star rating here. They are related to the manager. Just scroll down and see the reviews from the real residents.- Still the dishwasher hasnt been fixed. After 2 weeks calling and pushing and pushing finally the guy showed up and said that we need to replace it.I will update this post regularly. I dont let the manager get away with all the problem that they caused me.*************************************************************************UPDATE:First of all, if you need proof for what I am saying here please contact me.Recently, we have notices that someone is stealing from our mailbox. After complaining many times to the property manager, regional manager, they just changed the lock. The mailbox is very old and changing the lock was not a solution. The theft again stole from our mailbox including credit cards, debit cards, amazon packages, etc.The shocking part of this story is that after I talked with them and complained over and over, instead of solving the solution they just banned me to enter the leasing office. We still have issues with the mailbox and safety of the property.Dont come here if you care about yourself and your familys safety.*****************************************************************If I could, I would have given a negative rate for this property. If you want to know more about this property, please contact me. These are the issues:(1) Impolite maintenance persons. It took forever to fix even a little thing. To give you an example, it took 3 months to fix the disposal system.(2) Three friend of mine and I had nails in our tires. It was definitely their fault and even they admitted it. But they didnt care about it at all. We had to fix the tires by ourselves.(3) I had to fix the issue with my internet and they told me they will process the receipt and they will reimburse me. It is right now over three months that they have not done anything about it.Dont come to this property. I can show you legit proof that this property sucks!
I have lived at 500 Northside for about two years now. Ever since Stonemark has taken over the properties, this complex has VASTLY improved. To put it in perspective: maintenance requests used to take weeks of constantly calling the office to see if someone can come out to which many issues were never resolved, we all had to bring a money order to the office to pay our rent (no efficient online portal,) and the pest control situation was out of hand. The Stonemark team--particularly Gladis, Beverly, and Christopher--have been absolutely spectacular. Nowadays, when you walk into the office, you are actually acknowledged like a human being, maintenance requests are followed up in a timely manner, and pests are kept in check (as much can reasonably be expected in Atlanta.) They are always courteous, respectful, and helpful. To put their outstanding customer service into perspective, Stonemark took over the property during one of the coldest weeks of the year back in January. Due to the lack of follow-through of the previous property management, my heat was not functional as well as several other residents, I imagine. Georgia Natural Gas determined there was a leak in the gas line somewhere in our building (which was never found from previous property maintenance.) Beverly and Gladis went completely out of their way to ensure that this situation was resolved including giving out direct lines of communication. While I know that a property management needs to provide heat, their dedication to resolve the huge backlog of maintenance requests during their revamp of the property shows that they truly care about their residents. Being someone who is a manager in the customer service field, I tend to know what I am talking about. Are these apartments luxurious? I would not say so. Are they reasonably clean at a decent price given the current Atlanta housing market and their location? Most definitely. Do these new team members in the office have it much more together than previous managers? 100% absolutely. The sheer fact that they can remember your name when you walk into the office is lightyears ahead of most customer service that you find at apartment complexes around this city. I hope that they keep doing what they are doing as it is definitely refreshing.
Horrible customer service, rude irresponsible staff in leasing office that never do anything right, unbelievably unorganized, slow, and deficient maintenance job, and very repetitive maintenance problem. This is a place to just have a shelter above your head and not to be homeless, this is not some thing you call a home and youd feel comfortable at. Very often some thing should break, not work, or go wrong, and these people literally do not care at all about your comfort there. They think once they have given you the apartment to live in, you should be happy, like we live with standards of third-world countries.I had a lot of maintenance problems repetitively with refrigerator not working, a/c doing nothing, no water for some time, no water in shower, a clogged toilet, cock roaches, lots of bricks and boards they had left in my porch. I needed to go in person to the leasing office and tell them a thousand times to fix something. it took three months to fix my shower, they never fixed my a/c, they took two weeks to fix the clogged toilet,...!!! The people in the leasing office act like they have 0 experience with customer service, they actually think theyre your boss! Once you move in you have to pay them rent, and you should accept any upcoming problem. Literally it feels like youre in a poor third-world country!I would definitely have left 0 or negative star for 500 Northside, Hartford, or whatever they want to call it. They suffer from awfully poor management capabilities and terrible 0-skilled staff! Dont ever get tricked by seeing their pool area and rather good-looking leasing office area they they have recently renovated when they called it 500 Nothside! Theyre the same irresponsible people and horrible apartments and service.Life is sooo much better since I have moved out to my new apartment at almost same rent. I suffered so much there waiting for my lease to end.500 Northside (Hartford) is the worst apartment complex ever!!!
I havent even moved in yet and I am already facing a lot of trouble with the management. When I applied for an apartment, I was allowed to choose a particular unit as I was applying early and there was availability. However about 4 days before my move in date, i get a mail saying that the apartment I had signed up for isnt available and I have the option of moving into an other apartment. Turns out the alternative apartment is a basement building which is poor lit and dingy - really not something I would want to move into. The reason they gave was that the current tenant refused to move out - which seems like a load of bs to me considering they are informing me about this 4 days before my move in date! They also mentioned that if i wait for 2 more weeks, the apartment I want will be available. (looks like the tenant decided to move out after all!) It seems like the management is really not being honest with me through the entire episode and keep giving me misleading info!! On top of everything, they dont have the courtesy to talk to me patiently on the phone and act like they are doing me a favor! How do i deal with a management that is so unprofessional? I hope I am not making a big mistake by moving here.
The rent is very high compared to the service. The leasing office is terribly reluctant about any service request. I had to get my bathtub faucet fixed and I had to keep requesting them for two whole months (yes, it is two whole months) to get in changed. And in this whole time the water was making my cloths wet whenever I opened the faucet. The same happened when my refrigerator was broken. I had to request them for 4 times to get it fixed and my foods got spoiled. The funny thing is they do not care about this at all. When I tried to explain my sufferings to them, unfortunately I did not see any sympathy for them. They always say that they have other customers whose needs are more important. I do not understand how come their needs are important and mine is not. Sometimes they also keep their water flowing in the neighbourhood and they charge this money on us. Right now the utility bill for 1 bedroom is around $80 and same to 2 bedroom is around $120 which is because of their poor management. The only positive thing here so far is their low rent compared to other nearby apartment. I am very low earning people and that is why I am bound to stay here. And they are going to increase that too!!!
[New Review 11/18/19]The new office staff is very unprofessional and thinks it’s appropriate to speak to tenants in a condescending manner. If you elevate an issue to the corporate level they get very upset rather than taking accountability and ownership. My review of the previous staff under Beverly Hartel remains the same 5-Stars. My review of the apartments complex and the renovations remains the same 5-Stars. I just pray we get a staff that matches those same qualities. My current 2-Star rating is for the new office staff. Please give me reason to give you 5-Stars so that together we can celebrate the success The 500 has shown under Stonemark.[Previous Review]I’ve lived here for 3 years under Hammond Management, prior to the renovations. I must say I’m proud to renew my lease for another year under Stonemark Property Management. The office manager Bevery Hartel here at The 500 has made sure that I was completely satisfied prior to moving into my 2 bedroom newly renovated unit. The leasing agent Chris went the extra step of following up to make sure that key components of my walkthrough were fulfilled. I really appreciate the professionalism of the office staff and the promptness they give in addressing my concerns. The renovated units are what you’d expect for the West Midtown/Buckhead area. The 500 is conveniently located near Atlantic Station, the Howell Mill Shopping District, West Midtown Provision, Chattahoochee Retail District, I-75/85, one of the best school districts in the city and tons of restaurants in walking distance. The newly renovated units offers modern designs, sophistication and appeal. Units includes floating vanities, sleek stainless steel fixtures, energy efficient stainless steel appliances, beautiful laminate hardwood flooring, gorgeous ceiling fans, washer and dryer.Stonemark is completing a total renovation of the property including the exterior and landscaping. And, they didn’t forget about the “fur babies” and/are installing dog runs and waste stations.I’m proud to call The 500 home!!!
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. New property manager, Beverly, is the worst. Shes impossible to get in contact with, extremely unprofessional, and irresponsible. Whenever theres a problem, she says she understands, but thats a lie. She never does anything to try to fix the problem next time. Recently, our building was pressure washed. They didnt bother to tells beforehand, ya know, to close the windows and move our patio furniture before we left that day. Anyway, water and dirt gushed through our closed living room windows covering our blinds, floors, etc. We contacted them as soon as it happened staying in contact all day and the next day. Instead of cleaning up the mess immediately, they waited until 2 days later to want to send someone to clean it. They didnt care at all that we had to spend time out of our busy day to clean up someone elses mess. They didnt offer to pay for our time, no compensation.. After back and forth communication and trying to explain to Beverly how frustrating this is and how they need to let people know when theyre going to do these kinds of things, they still didnt let us know when they were going to paint the whole outside! No warning whatsoever. Luckily we were there in time to move our belongings out of the way.. I have lived here 3 years, but am about at my wits end with all of their neglect and nonsense. They do not care one bit about the tenants and their needs. Property manager is there to take care of tenants needs, but it doesnt matter how many times we contact, she does absolutely nothing.
I moved in about a year ago. The apartment is great for the price and the area. I had a few issues with the renovations, but the crew came out and fixed it for me right away. I just renewed I pay 1000 for a almost new 1 bedroom apartment. Not bad for being in midtown.
IF YOU ARE PLANING TO MOVE HERE... FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE!This is the worst place I have ever lived, not only the apartments are old and falling apart, they are infested with cockroaches, I heard plenty neighbors including me having water leaking issues, very insecure living there and poor service support. The new administration is trying to get as much as money as they can to renew the apartments and not doing a good job.Trying to moved out I got charged with unfair fees that went up to $500 for trash out feed when I forgot a few moving boxes, when I talked to the manager Beverly Hartel she was so unreasonable and basically told me to screw you
The walls are paper thin,I figured for the price the apartments would be nicer. The renovation were not to bad. but the down side is there is alot of drugs and violence in the complex.Alot of people from different neighborhoods come into the complex and throw unauthorize party late at night in the parking lot.A person was also found dead floating in the pool.Sorry but you are lieing and that also dosent say much for the character of the people who work here. Here is your proof. There are many other articles as well about this place.sorry but you are lieing this the apartment complex. That dosent speak highly of your character.

New management is much better than the old group. They have made some improvements to the property since Ive been here (almost 2 years). There have been a few maintenance issues, but Beverly, Chris, and the rest of the staff have been very nice and worked to resolve the matters as quickly as possible.

The only reason I gave it a one just because of where its located in Atlanta. Live here if you are cheap and love roaches, raccoons, rats, raggedy people, and whatever else you can think of to describe trash that starts with R. First off I paid 1449 for rent for a 2 bedroom apartment which is pretty decent for the area. But fair warning there is a reason for the price. Chris was initially very nice and I had a decent move in experience with them. I lived in building MM. I had a renovated version of the apartments but there is a alternative newer renovation since I moved in Feb 2018. The space is big the granite is nice. THEN AFTER MOVE IN DUNN DUNN DUN....There were roaches. I dont mean one or two roaches but a migration of immigrant roach colony families trying to cross the border(my apartments kitchen) after week 2 and I mean the little roaches that are from being dirty not the roaches that are from foliage. So I requested pest control EVERY month and they would come and put some little sticky traps in the kitchen. I have a picture of the type of roaches directly next to a notice that they come and sprayed the kitchen generally mocking the pest control man and myself in every way that they could. After a while I just refused to eat in or enter my own kitchen because I knew I would just go on a tirade of yelling and bleaching just to see a roach the next day hanging out on my kitchen counter. After a while the roaches just started to get bold and come into the bedroom and torture me there. On to the next issue, no gates. There was random man sleeping in the parking lot in his car in front on my building. I use to have to ride the bus through the summer in the mornings and there he was right next to my car sleeping. I reported it, the security said they gave him a ticket and then a couple months later there he was again for a couple weeks then leaves then comes back. During the summer you myswell forget going to the pool on the weekend because its literally a college pool party full of people who dont live in the complex so if you have kids trying to go swim on the weekend dont even think about it. Oh the people arguing and fighting thats fun until its 3a on a tuesday. No gate, all problems. Oh the water, if you are at home in the day they cut it off during the day because its always broken and requires maintenance. So forget taking a shower or drinking a cup of water before 6p. My water pressure was pretty low too so dont ever worry about washing your dishes or taking a shower with a little force ever. Oh lets not forget during the winter there are racoons/rats that live in roof. So it sounds like puppies running back and forth in the roof all night every night from about Nov-Mar. I also let them know this, they put some kind of dog cage on the gutter as a fix, needless to say no raccoon puppies were caught in the dog cage on the gutter. My neighbors smoked, so my house smelled like weed. My other neighbors argued all the time so I was just as annoyed with this woman as her boyfriend. I also would complain but never really got any real solutions. Oh and at one point when they started renovating they just half did my building and then stopped so I had a gutter hanging off my roof conveniently right outside of my window from Dec until i moved in the end of Feb. They also have changed managers and associates since being there at least twice over. And my last run in was because I wasnt given notice that the last month of your lease might not be through til the last day of the month and was charged for the extra two days of being there after that time. I had email correspondence with one defunct manager to speak with a new one and she was pretty snarky and really didnt care to help even though I had a bunch of email to kind of provide my side of the story. So now Im in collections for utilities when they send texts and emails for everything else but did not provide one last email to let me know of my last charges and said thats not their responsibility.
The property was just sold to a new company. The new management office is much worse than previous one. They now carry out a renovation for all the apartments, terminating renewal and new moving-in. The new apartments will be like Buckhead apartments, as per the new manager. What a joke! In addition to the messy construction/renovation going on in the property, they will increase the rental for at least 300 dollars!!! No matter how you do the renovation, the building is still ~ 50 years old, there are very bad cockroaches issue and I dont think the renovation will solve it at all. Moreover, the new management office keeps changing the policy everyday. Every time I went to talk to them asking about the renovation and its effect on my renewal, I got totally different answers. The new manager is also very rude and non-professional, with very bad and aggressive attitude. In all, not recommending it for anyone! Previously, the cheap rental is the biggest and the only highlight. Now, there is none anymore.
Dont rent here. New management has paid for boosted ratings on google. This place is trash. The property managers always say they will do things but never do. And I mean never. Also enter your apartment without warning. Additionally...They power washed the sidewalk, leaving piles of dirt inside of my house. Then they proceed to paint the whole exterior white and leave the gutters grey? Seriously?! And then I came back yesterday and my door was green? Come on guys, get your shit together.DONT RENT FROM HERE
First off, I just want to start by saying Tye, the Assistant Manager in the office is amazing! Worked diligently during the application process and made my entire transition a breeze! My new apartment looks great, all new appliances, central location to downtown Atlanta, and in a quiet area of the city! Definitely look to move here and ask for Tye in the office!
We have a 2 BR apartment here. The apartments are nice and roomy, everything seems to work accordingly. Maintenance can sometimes be slow but usually theyre on top of their game. Theyre a little pricey, but thats for convenience of gas stations, night clubs, Wal-Mart, Kroger, and restaraunts all being within walking distance. A new management recently took over and they seem to have stepped up the game of how things are ran. They also allow us to have packages shipped to the office for safety purposes (which for you Amazon shoppers is great)! The mailing system does suck though! We have been here for 6 months and still get a ass load of old tenants mail, we send it back but there is still a lot. Aaaaaaaand, the number system for the mailboxes is really weird so everyone gets everyones mail. This is more the mailing peoples fault than the apartments, but it is still an issue. All in all we LOVE our apartment and have the best group of neighbors. Id give give the apartments a 5 star but the mailing this is a big thing for me. Thankfully most people in the allotment are honest and left my lost packages alone. But it is still inconvenient. Also there are police officers who live here and help with any problems that may happen and definitely help keep the place safe.
We just moved in and are very pleased with the professional, energetic and outgoing staff at 500 Northside Circle. Our leasing team consisted of Ms. Shelly and Ms. Tiffany who worked effortlessy to ensure we had an emaculate apartment ready for the 1st of September 2017!Not only did they offer stella customer service but they went above and beyond in educating my family on all the amenities the surrounding neighborhood had to offer. Our leasing consultant, Ms. Tiffany communicated all appointments, projected move in dates and required documentation in a timely manner. Her ability to customize a welcome package that catered to my family was such a wonderful experience.Ms. Tiffany discussed the renovated vs. non renovated options, conducted a detailed tour of the interior and exterior of the apartment as well as recreational amenities. Our apartment was freshly painted, floors polished, exterminated and all cosmetic finishes in proper working order. We were fortunate to meet such friendly neighbors as we toured the grounds. While summer was heading out the door 500 Northside Circle kept their pool well maintained down to the final day of closure. There is an awesome gym equipped with the latest and greatest equipment. The maintenance team is visable on the property and always take time to say Good Morning ( in english and spanish lol).Above all our leasing team had fresh refreshments and table tennis activites to keep our little ones active while they took very good care of us.I promise you will not regret your decision to move to 500 Northside Circle.
Ive only been here a month and Im already ready to move out. My move-in dates were incorrect, and even after I corrected them and payed more than I was told to pay just so I could move in on the day that I was supposed to. And guess what! my apartment was NOT finished! It still isnt. I cant take a shower because the water is too hot, and if I turn on the cold water, it just becomes ice cold. The doors get stuck when I shut them, and the paint was peeling everywhere because they rushed the apartment. Management is doing a horrible job at listening. I just cant with this place.
I really like how helpful the staff is! Our leasing consultant seemed to be very interested in my needs and wants of what type of apartment I wanted. I definitely recommend these apartments to everyone. If you need any help Christopher in the leasing office is the best !
Apartment was perfectly cleaned when we first moved in with some minor problems, but all of that was taken care of quickly because of Chris. He was extremely helpful throughout the whole process of applying, he answered all of my questions, and he even helped me move in some of my furniture. If you talk to anyone here, talk to Chris.
Im changing my negative review thanks to the new management. The previous management was miserable ... and thats all Ill say about them.Id like to shout out Christopher Ivey, the leasing specialist as he really helped me when I was running out of my last drop of patience. My AC/Heat hadnt worked for 2 months, my oven was faulty and I had lost one of my packages that was dropped off at my doorstep by Fedex. Christopher and the new management came in and resolved all my issues in a well deserved timely fashion.I like that they now work with Amazon & Fedex to have all packages dropped off at the leasing office.Im in my second year here and Im pretty happy with the service!
I moved into one of the newly remodeled apartments ~2 months ago. In that time I have had a MYRIAD of serious problems. To start off with my apartment had no hot water, the dishwasher leaked (flooding the kitchen), and a pipe was broken by construction workers in the apartment next to mine flooding the bedroom. After a great deal of heckling they eventually stopped the leaks, however they did NOTHING for the carpet. Just left it damp. It took me more than two weeks to convince them to come back and then all they did was rip out the carpet pad and leave. Did they come back? No. With more time and constant complaining I eventually convinced them to replace it. Still no hotwater. It took them about a month to get moderately hot water to my apartment, which coincided with me threatening to hire a plumber and deduct it from my rent. That was month #1. Next, the careless construction workers busted ANOTHER pipe, flooding most of my apartment, including bedroom, hall, laundry nook, and some of the living room. They came by and dried it out, ripped back out my carpet pad and quit. The dry wall was damaged, and again half my carpet was all ripped up. With repeated nagging they finally repaired the dry wall, but have yet to bother fixing the carpet weeks later.Next, the AC started acting funny. It wasnt getting down very cool (78 when it was 75 outside) so I thought I would get ahead of it and ask them to repair it right away. 3 days later they left a note saying they lost my apartment key. That weekend the AC completely failed.I repeat, this is all within the first 3 months of living here!!! The manager just tells you whatever it takes to get you to leave and then doesnt bother following up. This place is a nightmare. Oh, and the whole place is infested with american cockroaches (the big ones). I will be looking for a new apartment, no amount of money or time not spent in traffic is worth constantly having to deal with these people. You have been warned.Update:Another Leak opened up flooding the apartment again. Maintenance has taken 3 weeks just to stop the leak. I have been walking through puddles all of October. Apparently this is very normal for their property. Also, as it got cold outside I found out the heater did not work. They said they were going to replace it... however, weeks later have yet to do so. Dont move here.Im considering starting a petition to the owner for a new management company. If taken to the local news outlet maybe we could get rid of these criminal slum lords. I guess its that or a class action lawsuit.
Dear 500 managementIt is with great pleasure that I’ve decided to write this letter of commendation for the leasing consultant, Francis Cedeno. Firstly, I must admit I am a tough customer; me and Mr. Cedeno’s first interaction came with numerous misunderstandings, all stemming from a simple miscommunication. During these encounters Mr. Cedeno displayed great patience, compassion, and transparency in his attempts to meet my needs and help me feel comfortable as new tenant. In my short time here, and to my extreme delight, I’ve already been able to characterize Mr. Cedeno as being ever vigilant, never timid to reach out, and consistent in following up on any situation brought to his attention. If those are not the qualities of a great property manager then I will never know what is. I truly thank this Management team for their professionalism and commitment, and I believe that all past, present, and future tenants to come are extremely fortunate to be in his hands.Thank youUnit S15Julius Murray IV
This apartment complex has had its fair share of issues however one person who remains consistent is Ms. Shelly. She is always there to help and resolve any issues the best she can. She keeps her residents informed and treats all residents like family. She is always there to answer questions and improve a residents living quarters. Her spirit and sincere care for her residents is always appreciated. Glad to have her in the leasing offic. If you are interested in renting an apt here please go to Shelly she will handle all your needs!
Run! Ive been here for a week! And im already livid! First of all i have NO heat! They promised me someone would be here to let the gas guy in to turn on the heat. Lie! Then she tried to argue with me that i didnt call her when he was on sight and ask her to let him in..ok whatever shouldnt have trusted her thats on me. But its October and the weather is getting down to the 30s already so i had to reschedule him which took 4 days before they could get back here..annoying..so i sit here for 3 hours waiting on the gas guy and when he finally gets here, after the property office has closed, he informs me that there is a part missing on the unit and he cant legally turn on my gas until it is installed. He proceeds to tell me this isnt the first time he has had to come back to a unit bc of this missing part and that legally he has to notify them of the problem so they already knew about it! Yes its a huge apartment but it come with huge problems from the get go! Ive been waiting the entire week for maintenance to come replace my garbage disposal so a whole side of my sink is completely unusable! And the only reason i got them here this week is bc ive been to the office several times about not being serviced. They came said it needed to b replaced and then left for the day so i go back to the office and get argued with. TERRIBLE service. No compensation for me sitting here freezing for 2 weeks. Already planning where im moving to.Update 7/2018..i have since moved out! Lets start with the roaches they come out of the walls, and cabinets, they come out of the vents, they come out at you at night, they come out at you during the day! Then you have to argue with Pest Control about how youre not infested! go ahead and take a look at all the pictures that I have posted on this review I keep a very well clean apartment and I have Pest Control come every week this place is infested!! with every kind of roach you can think of!!! Youll have to call a couple times to get maintenance out! it doesnt matter what it is you need! my mailbox looks like its been broken into so many times that it wont even close all the way! The water is constantly going off without any warning! when they do give you notices they just lazily throw the paper in front of your door! Sometimes youll get it if its not windy outside. Dont expect the office to let you know youve had a package delivered either! they way over charge for utilities and they expect you to keep gas on throughout the entire year even though you only need gas for central heating. so go ahead and plan on paying at least 50 extra dollars a month not to mention Im a one person in a one-bedroom apartment and theyve charged me $70 for water and trash! The walls are so thin that you can hear your neighbors snorting their coke through the walls and dont worry these people are always partying so dont think youre going to get any sleep or peace! You can see daylight through the doors so obviously weather stripping is awful...just allows another access point for a these damn roaches! And whatever is living in the ceiling u can hear that movin and scratchin around if it ever does get quiet. If you cant pay your utility bill the same day as rent go ahead and expect to pay up to 500$ in late fees..they will not work with you even if a holiday has caused your check to go through the bank late. And youve never paid rent late in your life! .if u dont have it all on the 4th by noon F U.
DONT DO IT!!!! I’ve only been here for less than a month and the entire ceiling fell down on me. I was rushed to the ER and was servely injuried. My toilet hasn’t worked the whole time I’ve been here. I’ve been having to drive to the gas station to use the restroom everyday!!! I’ve been here less than a month and roaches are everywhere!! The walls are THIN! I hear every thing my neighbor says and the dogs loud barking! I contacted the leasing office nearly everyday about the cracks in the ceiling and they did NOTHING to prevent the ceiling from falling down on me. I spoke with the property manager and the regional manager and was told “There’s nothing we can do”. The worst decision of my life was moving here!!!!!! Especially for them to charge $1,300 for a 1bedroom! I’ve lived in nicer places than this for that amount. MANAGEMENT DOES NOT CARE!! DONT IGNORE all the bad reviews they have! I know you are looking for a place to live, but this ain’t it it!!!!! I repeat! Periotttttttt!!!!!!
Chris Ivey has been incredibly accommodating and hospitable in his service. I appreciate all his effort to work with me on my short term leasing needs. I take no issue with the state of the unit, it’s more than roomy with private porch space for every resident. The only qualm I have is with noisy neighbors and in particular, loud music played at all hours by the adjacent unit.
I would like to start by stating that this is no longer the Old 500 Northside Apartments. The new Property Manager Mrs. Beverly Hartel and Mr. Chris Ivey the Leasing Consultant have been nothing less than stellar and professional. Keeping in mind that there are approximately 100 units in the complex. The property is currently under renovation and is recieving a major and must needed facelift, they are doing a great keeping up with the current needs and expectations of the tenants. Ive recommended the property to several acquaintances and theyll concur that this is a great community doing great things and is on the upswing. FYI... The recreational facility is unmatched by any other within 5 miles. I highly recommend this property. Thank you 500 Northside Staffers.
I usually dont pay attention to reviews because everyones experience and level of tolerance is different. How we handle situations are different as well. BUT in this case I need to write a review. EVERYTHING THESE PEOPLE ARE SAYING IS TRUE. This is a recent post so I am currently dealing with these issues,I moved into this ROACHES , RATS, ANTS, infestations not a little here a little there. MAINTENANCE SUCKS. Many things in my apartment needed fixing, they fixed some and acted like they fixed others. the water does shut off regularity without notice. I had to call on numerous occasions to get them fixed it wasnt until rent wasnt paid that they paid attention and then sent someone out to fix things. As far as the office the attitudes they are lacking that customer service feel, putting it nicely. Its not worth the price of rent for no piece of mind. Hopefully in the future but as of now I am extremely dissatisfied with this place.

After being diagnosed with covid 19 the property management company reached out to me and helped us in any way possible. They personally reached out to check on my roommate and myself.Enjoyed my time at The 500 and especially with the updated club house and amenities i am sure you will also.
If you think energy efficient means no installation in the wall you will feel right at home. If I could post pictures I would, this place makes no sense. The walls in this classic styleapartment have been unfinished for over a year tenants have had their tires flattened by nails in the passing lots left by the people they hire and paid to do the construction and that includes me. Oh but make sure you hurry up and get it fixed fast or your going to get a sticker of towing. My car was towed with Less than a month left in my lease 165 bucks so my car is not being kept on this property.and thats after I was told I was not on the towing list but then all of a sudden their is a new list made a couple days before. They seem nice but are hustlers top day the lease. Dont go with out driving your car for more than a week even if you can take alternative commuting because the towing Sticker is going to say your car doesnt work had happened to me many times when I should not have to drive often sense I work in the heart of midtown. A complete inconvenience. Re paving streets is no more than retaring. before water bills never went over 70 know 115 if your lucky. they do go up and up probably because your paying for the leaks in the pavement and laundry room water. In the summer dont think that your going to be nice and cool, the ac units were not apart of the upgrade, they do not work. Water is tourney off at least 3time a mouth with out notice. They cant repair anything unless your at home so dont go work. They only person in the office worth talking to its ms Shelly everyone else is a joke. If you dont like to sleep this is definitely your place, complain about stomping and nothing is done. Watch your kids if you love them heck watch yourself as well speed limit is 5 miles an hour almost been hit 6 times in 3 days in broad day light. I could go on and on but for what for a complex that was amazing to go down like this but have Higher prices makes no sense. One more thing dont expect them to really help if you are flooded of your home for one if your things are damaged you have to take it up with your insurance company and if your in a two bed apartment they can not offer you the 2 bed model because the owners nephew stays their.
Moving in/ Front Office StaffI needed saving from my previous apartment and Chris at 500 Northside helped me out. Everyone that i have came encounter with in the front office has been very helpful. I was able to move in quick and easy. I am looking forward to living here at this complex. great location and close to work.
If i can give negative star, I absolutely do that!1.Roach! Roach! Roach! They are everywhere!2. My upstairs are move out, so someday without nobody tell us or the leasing office give a notice or discuss with us, somebody just begein decrate, drill and knocking for whole 3 days. I am pregnant and in the 1st trimester, they just do that my poor little kid was scared so much and cried a lot , we can`t take any rest in the daytime. After 3 days it`s quiet we think maybe they finish, but guss what? they come back and make the noisy one day a week! I don`t know when they will finish, because nobody care about us!3. The rent is getting more and more high, but the apartment is really old and don`t worth the price! BTW the utilities are almost $100 so it really a luxury apartment! So if you want to move in here, please think well!
This is the WORST apartment complex Ive ever lived in. The management company is a disgrace, to say the least. I have been here for 3 months with broken heat, standing water, mold, roaches. Maintenance has yet to remedy any of these issues. I pay a pretty penny in rent and this is just unacceptable. They lie and say that they update the units but its a complete lie. DO NOT MOVE HERE!
I lived there for 2 years, and its the worst apartment Id ever live in. Yeah, its pretty cheap, but you get less than what you pay for.The apartments are old. The windows dont seal and are very drafty. When the wind blows, they shake in their frames. Oh yeah, theres only 2 windows in the apartments, and not well placed. The appliances and fixtures are old and cheap. We had to start the dishwasher with a screwdriver. The plumbing is crap. I had to fix several leaks myself, which was a pain because none of it was in compliance with plumbing codes. The employees are the worst part. The maintenance staff will let themselves in regardless of if youre home or not. They will show up whenever they feel like it. They will let other people into the apartments as well. They even smoked weed in our apartment while we were gone. The leasing office staff are awful. They had my car towed even though I told them I had just got a new car. It was towed out to Conyers, so I had to miss work, get an hour long ride out there. Then I had to pay for it. The leasing office never reimbursed me, although they said they would. Of course, they initially said they wouldnt tow my car too. They leasing office staff also will try to keep any packages they think might have something of value.Landscapers come by and start the leafblowing and weedeaters at 6am on the dot, mondays and fridays. This is a problem for most people who like to sleep. Also, they dont actually make anything look nicer. They butcher the hedges and dump the lawn debris right behind the buildings, so it smells bad and harbors lots of bugs. The bugs are horrible. Both ants and roaches. The exterminator will come out on a tuesday, if you request it, but his spray doesnt work. The bugs will be back in a matter of hours. I think the bug problem is mainly due to the mulch piles everywhere the gross nature of all the cats and trash dumpsters. There is always garbage all over the complex. I dont mind the stray cats everywhere(there is about 80, no exaggeration), but they do attract the bugs. And they fight and get loud at night.Speaking of fights and getting loud at night, thats what the residents do almost every day. In the summer, people have huge pool parties that have to be raided by the police.Dont live here please
I read the reviews below, however this has not been my experience at 500 Northside.I have been here about 7 years and have seen a few mgmt changes, this last one has been the best yet. The owner put a lot of work into the property the change is night and day. There is a new fitness center which is open 24 hours for the residents. There is a new clubhouse upstairs and downstairs with a pool table and a foozeball table! The pool was nicely redone with cabanas and new pool furniture. The renovations were not as smooth as I would like, but I understand such is the process. Overall this is a good product for the price.
ASBESTOS and ARMED ROBBERY:I lived here for 2.5 years. I stayed because of the cheap price, but they wont fix anything until you ask. They will fix things though. This place has a bad problem with roaches in the pipes. If you ever leave food out or a dirty plate you will can have up to 50 roaches in 1 night. One more downside is that there were 2 armed robberies in the complex during my time here.Ultimately, the most condemning thing is that the apartment across from me caught fire and during the renovation of that apartment asbestos was found and the unit was quarantined. When I asked for a copy of the report that detailed the findings they said they would get me one but never did.For those of you who are already in a lease here:I do not trust this place. They will tell you whatever they need to to keep you there.Make friends with the manager and speak with the manager only; everyone else is a rookie. Get everything in writing.
No manager (Bev G. Hartel) is ever on site, daily messages to call are never returned, no AC service for 4 weeks June/July 2018, no compensation whatsoever on rent, racoons infested in attic chewed hole into apartment in July. Contaminated carpet still not cleaned, multiple health code violations on these apartments due to neglectful management ... how many stars would you give this? Having the managers friends below post glowing reviews not only misrepresents but is also unprofessional.
I’m moving into the complex and from the beginning to now everything has been great! Chris is god sent! He helped me every step of the way because this is my first time renting out of college. He stayed late in the office to give me a tour an hour after they closed and came in on his day off to sit with me and fill out paper work because I was visiting from out of state! The management improvements are magnificent!
Was notified the last day of my lease that they wouldn’t release my apartment because it was unrenovated. They offered to lease me a different apartment for an extra $250 a month. They ignored my American with disabilities act request. My apartment had water leaking from the apartment above mine causing black mold. I reported the problem repeatedly and all matainance would do was paint over mold. Worst apartment complex ever.
Today, I had visited 500 Northside, as I am looking to move into a new apartment soon, and it undoubtedly had been worth the visit. First of all, Chris (leasing agent) is a very genuine, authentic individual and conveys sincerity when speaking to you and discussing the ins-and-outs of the location.Initially, I was skeptical of even considering the location given the plethora of horrific posts/reviews from yelp to apartment ratings to google reviews et cetera; however, these reviews are reflective of the previous state of 500 Northside before new management and the upcoming renovations.I just wanted to write this review because I understand individuals will see reviews and that alone can sometimes make or break peoples decision per pursuing leasing an apartment. I honestly think both the current and prospective state of 500 Northside starkly contrasts what the past reviews may have you believe. My only qualm with 500 northside is the curb-appeal is not that aesthetically pleasing per se (but I am sure once renovations are complete by Fall of 2018 that will become more of a moot point). Internally, the apartments are nice, especially following renovations.Still uncertain if this will be my future home, but nonetheless: Great price, good location, even better management.
This apartment complex is centrally located in Atlanta area, and easy drive to many different places... whether work commute, or going out for the evening. I Lived here for 10+ years. The apartments were remodeled inside in 2015, and most have new kitchens/bathrooms/etc. The buildings themselves were constructed in 1970, so they are a bit older... BUT that also means that they have more space than most newer properties (especially the two bedroom units). There are two swimming pools near the office The residents are a mix of college students and general work every day types, with a few retired folks mixed in... I generally got along OK with most of my neighbors. Sometimes the office management is difficult to work with, and repair/maint staff has a lot of turn-over, so hard to get them to do much. One gotcha is: they dont tell you that the water bill can be $100/month, no matter how much/little they use, since there are no actual water meters per unit, so they just decide how much they want you to pay, without knowing how much was used. The apartment complex used to be called Hartford Place, and was renamed to 500 Northside in 2015.
I have lived in Atlanta since 2000, in 5 different apartment communities in 4 metro counties. I can honestly say that 500 Northside is the only place I have felt a sense of community. My neighbors are all very friendly and the staff here have been helpful and accommodating when Ive had an issue. I love living here and I hope I never have to leave.
This is not a place you want to live.Maintenance requests go ignored. The staff is very unprofessional and deceitful.Apartment is drafty and lets the cold in during the winter and heat in during the summer. The staff will not prepare the apartment properly before you move in and attempt to hold renter responsible. Notate it on the walk through form, take pictures and demand they correct it.Get everything in writing and do not trust what the staff says.I advise find somewhere else to live.
DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! I wish I would have read the reviews before I moved here 4 years ago, but as of today Im OUT OF HERE as soon as one of the more efficient properties Im inquiring on is available. TRUST ME, EVERYTHING everyone has complained about here is TRUE xs 2.The water has been off today for almost TEN HOURS. This would be the third time this month due to a small leak. Im not plumber, but a small leak takes close to TEN hours to fix huh? Okay.Management SUCKS. Theyll just tell you anything to float you throughout the day so that when you call about 15 minutes before they leave, you go to voicemail and have to deal with maintenance. I would blame maintenance, but I was in the office and saw/heard firsthand how the ditsy and rude employees tried to put off their lack of follow up and protocol onto maintenance (which I believe is only two people for a property thats old and ALWAYS has issues). The ladies in the office dont care and will just fluff you until its time for them to go to the comfort of their own homes. I heard that one of the office women actually lives on the property and I feel sorry for her to have to work for a company that doesnt care about the people who live here.Theres been noisy renovations without warning, water issues without warning, other issues without warning. But you know what? If youre late on your rent, theyll warn you about that. Which pretty much says that youre just a dollar here. IF youre looking to live somewhere where:-- Maintenance calls take SEVERAL follow ups for basic things-- Management is inconsistent and inconsiderate, lazy and rude (I walked into the office one day when there was no water during work hours and theyre just casually sitting around laughing and joking)-- ROACHES and MICE and other strange bugs Ive never seen until I moved here-- A swimming pool thats barely clean during the pool months-- A laundry room smells sour and the machines are NEVER CLEANED (hairs, dirt, sludge and who knows what else)-- The building is OLD and the appliances are from the late 70s-- The workout center doesnt even have matching dumbbells (a 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 35LB dumbbells, but no match. WTF kind of workout is that?), mangy of the machines are broken because they are from the 80sthen this is the place for you. The only bonus here is location and price, but you will learn within a year that you get what you pay for. So dont pay for this crap. Spend a little extra money and have a piece of mind that you wont get here. This place is a dump and should just be leveled. A new management company has taken over and are now trying to charge 850.00 for new apartments that theyre basically gutting out on the inside and updating. Thats like putting a brand new engine in a car that was towed out of the junk yard. If they quote you 850.00 for the 1/BR RUN AWAY! You will not like your stay here and you wont feel your money spent is being justified.
I would have to say this complex has by far been the worst experience I have ever had with any apartment Ive lived in. Its literally been a month into my lease and I cant tell you the number of things that have been wrong with my apartment since the first week into the lease term. I think the main thing at this present time would be the fact that its 5am and Im (Ive been in the bathroom of my unit for at least an hour or two..maybe three) typing a review because I have raccoons in my ceiling wall that clearly like to have parties every night. Please and I advise PLEASE do not live in misery as I am from binding yourself to an agreement to stay within this complex. FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE.
DO NOT MOVE HERE. I would give a zero star if it would let me. My boyfriend lived here two years with a broken dish washer, mold growing in the bathrooms, leaking ceiling, and roaches everywhere. Every time we called to complain we were informed it would get fixed right away. However when we stopped the maintenance guy to ask about it, he told us he had heard nothing of it. Suddenly a week before he moved out, things started to get fixed, (to make it seem to the new people that it was okay to live there.) They made claims rent wasnt paid even though we can bring up records of the payment. Seriously, do not put yourself through the horrors of living here.
Yeah, we USED to live here. It has gotten progressively worse. Even with the new name and owner, 2015, its a pig.The facelift of paint and new cabinets is designed to mask the fact that the heating and A/C units are old, outdated, inefficient and do not work most of the time. Look in the utility closet at furnace if you are considering living here. it does not work well either. The water pipes in the complex are old and collapsing and there are frequent underground leaks that YOU pay for. You get a prorated $100 water bill each month. We rent a 3br/3ba house in DeKalb and our water bill is $60 every Two months. Under the former name and management, Hartford Place, we even received a note on the door telling us not to discuss our water bill with other tenants. uh, ever here of free speech. The complex is VERY slow if ever to make repairs whether you call them in or put them in writing. There are a lot of GT students here and the place is sparsely populated when school is not in session. Im fine with the internationals. The office staff is pleasant only as long as it takes them to get you to sign on the dotted line and not a moment more. Then they become combative and condescending. The bait and switch unit thing was done to us as well. Do NOT take the basement down in the hole units. Some of them leak during a heavy rain. The location is the only redeeming quality of this complex. If you are considering living here, I would strongly suggest you talk to any of the neighbors you see. Ask them how long they have been here and if they would move out if they could find an affordable place.
Office staff Gladys Chris Beverly they are the worst!!! Compulsive liars!! Work orders are never completed in a timely manner if they even get completed; roach issues, valet trash and removing the dumpster have not been running smoothly, trash will still be sitting the next morning. The amenities fob never works. Take your money elsewhere. The outside of the complex looks like a run down motel. Just horrible!
I would like to say that moving from Indiana to Georgia I was not as pleased with the place like I thought I would but my lease is up in March and looking for a new apartment! They are ok but for the price they could put upgrade them more than looking like a motel 6! New managenmt is a little bettter but they could do a lot better than they are doing with the price we pay
This place is not even deserving of a whole star, but Google doesnt give me the option for half a star. There are so many damn problems with our apartment my fingers would fall off if I tried typing it.The people who posted good reviews on here MUST HAVE BEEN PAID because I have not talked to a single person who has enjoyed living here.Lastly, this is the first review of anything I have ever written in my life (I know it seems like I do this all the time) but I just want others to have insight on this terrible place before they decide to move in. Because I definitely did not.
Only good thing about these apartments is location . I’ve been here since September put in request for minor things and yet they still have not been replaced or fixed ..the hot water in my kitchen still doesn’t work, I have been seeing rat droppings as well..came out once and put glue traps down.. put the same request in 3weeks later and they closed it out without coming back out
Chris Ivey was an exceptional leasing consultant. He extended the warmest hospitality for a new resident to Georgia. He gave school recommendations for my elementary schooler and gave me tons of information on the surrounding area. I am so happy to be staying at a place where there is so much care for tenant wellbeing!! The 500 offers me space and luxury for a great place close to downtown. I definitely recommend anyone that is looking for sincere southern hospitality from an apartment community and luxury style living close to downtown to stay here!!Tamara
It would take too long to list out everything wrong with this apartment complex, but it all centers around a leasing office that does not care one bit about its residents. My roommate and I have been without hot water for over a month and they are dragging their feet fixing it, acting like were being a bother over this. Im sure theyre not taking cold showers when its 30 degrees outside. Last winter we were without heat for two months and hot water for a month. Does anyone know the legality of this?
Horrible horrible just horrible - roaches in unit rat caught in wall a/c goes out frequent - hot water issues, low water pressure and no water happens quite frequently- Fred in maintenance very pleasant and knowledgeable - Phi in maintenance very pleasant as well. no parking near unit - office staff are a bunch of liars especially Beverly Chris cant think of the other lady name
The laundry utility in my apartment does not work even though it is covered in the lease term. Requested maintenance at least 7 times, in two weeks. The guy in the office answered I might not remember because I am too busy. I remember there are two women and a guy works in the office. So it must be him ? BTW, very rude ! I know the rent is cheap for the location but dont forget, cheap service for the cheap place.
WARNING STAY AWAY! Its the start of the summer and my A/C hasnt worked for 3 weeks Ive reported it several times and all i got was excuses, I recently found out that my neighbors air doesnt work either the A/C units are so old they need to be replaced but ownership is to busy trying to suck every penny from your pocket for substandard living conditions. This is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of what we as residents have to deal with. My sink is rusted through, door installed crooked, unfinished molding, mold, Busted pipes, construction equipment everywhere for the last 2 years, unfinished units etc, you can put lipstick on a pig but its still a pig people do not waste your time or hard earned money, this place is not worth the $1100+ rent they ask for. Theyre some photos of a few units here as well as yelp they try to flood you with nice pictures but you cant hide the truth, dont let the smiles fool you at the leasing office this complex is your worst nightmare come true RUN!....
Zero Stars. Read before moving in. BEWARE.STAY AWAY!!! EVEN THE OTHER ONSITE STAFF WARNED US NOT TO LIVE HERE - SAID MANAGEMENT WONT FIX ANYTHING ONCE YOU MOVE IN.***OUR MOVE IN STORY - DODGED A BULLET***Application ProcessWe viewed 500 Northside early in April, 2017. Our priorities were 1st or 2nd floor (not terrace level), and with washer / dryer. We were told there would be a unit available which could accommodate these requests, on Friday, 4/21.We applied and were approved to move in to Unit K2, with a scheduled move in confirmed for Friday 4/21/17 at 2pm. We made our moving plans, rented and loaded a Uhaul, took time off work, and arranged for friends and family to help with the move.Beginning of Delays11 AM, Friday 4/21/17 - I (Brad) received a call from Shelly that the unit would not be ready yet, as the painters had gotten paint on the carpet, and it needed to be replaced. I had no choice but to consent to postponing our moving plans, holding the Uhaul an extra day, and rearrange schedules with friends and family so that we could move on Saturday.Further Delays9 AM, Saturday - In the morning we packed up friends cars as well, to expedite the moving process, since we were a day behind schedule. We were told we would hear an update by 11am.11 AM - We called several times, and had a hard time getting through, but eventually reached Shelly, only to learn that the vinyl now also needed to be replaced, and things were behind schedule. We decided to come see for ourselves,.12 PM Saturday, 4/22/17 - We arrived to look at the unit. We saw contractors still there, and a complete mess inside. We asked about other available units to move in to, since it was urgent that we move immediately (our lease was ending, we had work during the coming week, and had to be out of our old apartment. We were told there was only one alternative unit, which also needed vinyl to be replaced. We went to go see it, but in addition to it not being move-in ready, it smelled like smoke inside, and was terrace level: It was not a reasonable or suitable alternative. For the inconvenience, we were told we would receive May Rent free of charge.Dishonest Management1 PM - When we asked when the work would be completed, we learned that Heather had just begun managing 500 Northside 3 weeks prior, and brought all her previous contractors in. Her new contractors were the ones who got paint everywhere, made a mess of the place, and left the job incomplete. Shelly had never seen anything like this from the previous contractors. Heather assured us would still be ready for us to move into by 2 pm, so we went to lunch.2:30 PM - We came back at with our Uhaul, 5 packed cars, and 7 friends ready to help us move. We went to the leasing office to start discussing requirements for maintenance and final items to be completed in the immediate few days following our move in. We wanted to get it all in writing, to ensure it would get done after signing our lease (Things like replacing the rusted stove, the May Rent compensation, being compensated for the extra Uhaul expense, etc).3PM - During this time, we saw the contractors drive away in their van, as if the apartment was completed. We went in the apartment and it was completely trashed. Vinyl was half finished, paint was EVERYWHERE, the kitchen was a wreck, wires were hanging throughout, the bathroom sink was falling off the wall, and the doorknob was not even attached to the front door. This is the condition the apartment was going to be signed over to us, as a move-in ready unit. We called the manager (heather, who at this point had left the complex). She refused to come back. It became obvious that we could not move in here. When we returned on Monday to have our Admin fee refunded, Heather refused to even speak with us.STAY AWAY!!! EVEN THE OTHER ONSITE STAFF WARNED US NOT TO LIVE HERE - SAID MANAGEMENT WONT FIX ANYTHING ONCE YOU MOVE IN.
I had given them a good review but I had to go back in it because of how unprofessional their new management is.They are rude, unprofessional and trying to cheat you.Theyre luring you in with the new paint and the new name but they just want to charge more. They didnt give us our security deposit back claiming a dirty apartment aroundal it was extremely clean.Move elsewhere if possible. This place is a scam.
This was by far the worst and most dangerous place I have ever lived, I plan on taking the management team to court for all the terrible things that they did to me. I had men coming in and out of my apartment that were not part of the maintenance staff, I told the leasing office not to allow anyone in my apartment without a 24 hour notice. I honestly cant even count how many times I was lied to and taken advantage of. They didnt care when I told them that one of the workers that was in my apartment took 300. They didnt care when an armed and dangerous pedofile was sleeping in a open apartment, they didnt even inform the residents. That man robbed people at gun point, broke into cars, followed my neighbors kids back to her apartment at gun point and pointed a gun at the police when they arrived. I could literally go on and on with the horror stories. The most traumatized story is when I found out that they have hidden tunnels behind 3 of the buildings where they get paid to allow child traffiking!!!!! I would NEVER raise kids anywhere near this apartment, its not safe.
I lived here and upon moving in read reviews just like the one i am leaving now. I figured now way its that bad ppl were being over the top HAHAHA what a mistake that was. You will see maintenance all the time but not at your unit for any requests you have. I lived on the 2nd story and had ROACHES ROACHES ROACHES!!! they will tell you the water bill is based on consumption but its not. I traveled and was gone for a month and came back to find the utility bill at the EXACT amount it was from all the months before. The place hasnt been kept up so be prepared for hot summers and drafty winters since no weather proofing of any kind has been done to the units. The laundry facility is disgusting to put it mildly. Your clothes smell dirtier than when you put them in to wash and half the machines dont work or eat your money (I used off side laundry facility instead). I called the office about black mold in my unit, not only did they not come and fill the maintenance order, but when I called back they said I should allow more dry air into the bathroom to keep things like that from happening. To top it all off they refused to give me back half my pet deposit and used those funds to cover other damages in the unit (not pet related but moving related) instead of using the insurance program they offered me just to squeeze the last few pennies out of my pocket into that disgusting waste land of a dump. I understand times are tough and you may not have a choice but seriously...get a roomate...live outside the perimeter...or take a 2nd job cause NOTHING in the whole world is worth putting up with their ridiculous antics. Oh ya and that fitness center and revamped pool area lol...you can only use the gym during office hours so if you have a job dont bother...also the equipment is from the 1970s and half of it doesnt work...the pool will also be closed most of the summer for maintenance and when its not its filled with hoodrats and unsupervised children. SO GLAD TO BE RID OF THIS HELL HOLE!!!
The score about 500 Northside apartment is too low, because the ex management company is so bad, leave negative impression, but now the management company has changed. and I lived in 500 Northside for a period of time, I love the community, the new management staff Chris and Gladis are so nice and friendly, they help me to solve many problems,I do appreciate what they do.I am happy to live here, recommend
Unbelievable incompetence from the management throughout our entire stay. Case in point, its been two months since we moved out and we still havent received our security deposit refund. They screwed it up the first time, and then oops! They mailed it to themselves the second time. Been sitting on their desk, apparently.Do yourself a favor and live literally anywhere else in Atlanta.
Thile property is definitely moving in a different direction under new management. Im having my work orders filled and Im getting responses from my front office. There are some structural issues with the property. Damaged gutters, messed up parking spaces, poor weather sealing: but I will update to see if these are addressed by management.
I am so sick of looking at overflowing dumpsters. Have reported to Atl311. Reporting to the office has done no good. There is a dumpster that backs up to 75 by the car wash area. It is always overflowing with garbage. It needs more frequent pick ups scheduled immediately. It is disgusting and an eyesore. I am embarrassed to have guest.
Constant parking lot flooding whenever it rains, regular water shut-offs for maintenance, private Instagram promoted trap parties at the pool for people who dont live there inhibiting you from using said amenity, potholes and sinkholes everywhere, people just dump their trash on the street, used condoms in parking lot, super thin walls, hot water is shared with the rest of your building. Yeah, hard pass.
This place has everything you could possibly want at a prime location and affordable pricing. Plus id like to give a huge shoutout to Chris Ivey. This man made sure that I had everything I needed when I moved in at a very short notice. He even came in on his off day to give me my keys. You wont find a better leasing agent in Atlanta than this guy. Thanks, Chris!
Ive lived here for 3 years and let me tell you, Chris is the dude you gotta talk to if you need help. He follows through, and almost more importantly, he genuinely cares about helping you out. Someone get this man a raise. I would have a lot more grey hair if not for him!
I don’t even have the time of day to sit and explain our experience living here. Whatever you do, DONT MOVE HERE. I don’t care if they offer you 3$ move in. DONT DO IT!Ratchet staff expect for Shelly, they don’t know what they are doing. The maintenance can be rude, the buildings are infested. They don’t hold their word without a threat. Save yourself the headache and live elsewhere
From the time I viewed the property with Tia to this very moment, I could not be more pleased with 500 Northside. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. It seems that the staff go above and beyond to make you feel like you are getting your moneys worth. I was utterly impressed!
To all that have issues with any rentals that you are renting from weather its a apartment or house or condo, you can contact OSHA Health Compliance, you can google the phone number to complain. If your paying rent, you should not have to go through these unhealthy and unsafe living.

This is a wonderful place to live. Christopher Ivey did an amazing job and i recommend him. His services are exquisite and not to mention the location is EVERYTHING!!! Prices are reasonable and loving the diversity! Thank you Christopher Ivey and 500 northside for accommadating my living quarters!
Roaches everywhere all the time. And dont let the owner response fool you, the owner breathes lies and deceit. Neither the owner nor the management cares about the bug problem, or the countless other problems plaguing the company and the apartment community. YOU WILL REGRET MOVING HERE.
Very good experience by Chris. I landed back in the country 2 hours after the office closed and chris came back and made sure me and my family had our keys. I’m sure no one else in Atlanta would’ve given this over the top selfless service thanks to all the staff as well
This place hired a company for renovations that never paid me and when i contacted them they referred me to another place that never contacted me. So square one again and no contact back. Work thats un permitted and inspected . ive got photos and a hell of a witness . Maybe this will get then to respond
AMAZING PLACE IF YOU LOVE LIVING BETWEEN COCKROACHES . . . IF NOT FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE!This is the worst place I have ever lived, not only the apartments are old and falling apart, they are infested with cockroaches, I heard plenty neighbors including me having water leaking issues, very insecure living there and poor service support. The new administration is trying to get as much as money as they can to renew the apartments and not doing a good job.Trying to moved out I got charged with unfair fees that went up to $500 for trash out feed when I forgot a few moving boxes, when I talked to the manager Beverly Hartel she was so unreasonable and basically told me to screw you THE WORST EXPERIENCE.
The new administration is trying to get as much as money as they can to renew the apartments and not doing a good job.Trying to moved out I got charged with unfair fees that went up to $500 for trash out feed when I forgot a few moving boxes, when I talked to the manager Beverly Hartel she was so unreasonable and basically told me to screw you
The management is not truthful and very unprofessional on all levels. There is this disconnect with commmucatuion with a level of attending to even the basic needs of the people who call this place home.Thery dont value anything other than your rent being payed. The units like stated before have Zero insulation along with very high utility bills to match. The new doors and windows are installed with gaps that let in heat and cold. The price for remodeled units were $850 last year now in one year $999 an increase that is unheard of anywhere in the city. The owners are only trying to maximize profits while putting some cheap lipstick on property to get people to move into complex.DO NOT BE FOOLED by smiling faces at leasing office to get you to move into a poorly run Apartment complex. You will soon see what happens from very simple maintenance requests is a challenge. There has been a high turn over with maintenance do to the work load and many problems with these old units...The AC units in many units are worked on over and over due too company/ owner saving a dime ,but wanting to maximizing profits as the expense of working class people. The latest cheap lipstick on the property was a Faux repaving of pothole riddled parking lot though out property. They just came in and spray painted a coat of asphalt color to make parking lot look new but didnt address any of the potholes. These same potholes will have rain water in them days after it rains and makes it difficult to get in and out of your car with stepping in water. There is also a large Asian population that has been here for many years that have called this place home. The new owner is running off these hard working families and other working class people...How you ask?...The property is making everyone reapply application to move into new units .The same tenants that have lived here for years and years yet in old units rent went up at higher amounts and yet were allowed to renew lease without needing to be approved or verify if your income amount...Humm??
THIS PROPERTY IS GREAT IM A NEW TENANT AND I JUST LOVE IT. MY FAVORITE PART IS THE POOL ITS HUGE AND I CANT WAIT TO TAKE MY SON FOR A SWIM. I WOULD DEFINITLY RECOMMEND 500 NORTHSIDE TO ANYBODY WHO WOULD BE NEW TO ATLANTA. PERFECT LOCATION AND EVERYTHING IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER. OUR NEW APARTMENT IS VERY SPACIOUS AND THE EXTRA OFFICE SPACE IS PERFECT FOR MY BUSINESS.
IF YOU LIKE AN APARTMENT THAT WILL NEVER GET ANY REPAIRS, WELL. THIS IS YOUR PLACE. WE HAD A MAINTENANCE REPAIR ORDER IN FOR ABOUT 8 MONTHS; THEN, THE MAINTENANCE MAN LIED ABOUT HAVING REPAIRED IT. THE MANAGER CAME AND SAW THAT NO WORK HAD BEEN DONE. STILL, IT NEVER WAS REPAIRED. THE MAINTENANCE MEN ADDRESSED MY WIFE AS BABY, OR DARLING . THIS IS CLOSE TO HARASSMENT IN MY OPINION. NEXT, THE TRASH WAS PICKED UP SOMETIMES. THEY MAKE THE TENANTS PAY FOR EVERYTHING, INCLUDING TRASH. MOREOVER, THEY MADE THE TENANTS PAY FOR PEST CONTROL THAT WE NEVER SAW. NEXT, WE WERE TO BE OUT ON MIDNIGHT THE 31 OF MARCH, BUT- AND WE HAD A RIGHT TO THE KEYS UNTIL THAT TIME- THEY MADE US PAY A FEE FOR HAVING THE KEYS IN ON THE FOLLOWING MORNING. THERE WAS NO ONE THERE TO TAKE KEYS AT MIDNIGHT ON THE 31ST. IF THE APARTMENT COMMUNITY CHARGES FOR ALL THINGS, I THINK IT SHOWS LITTLE CARE FOR THE TENANTS. IM SURPRISED WE ARE NOT CHARGED A BREATHING FEE.

2022-03-31Rachel, the leasing consultant has been very prompt with communication and has made the application process smooth. Calls are always answered and email response times are great. I am moving from Ohio to Atlanta, GA and finding a place with good communication is important to me through this process since I am moving so far.The 500 looks like a great deal for the location and price. The community looks welcoming and I am excited to move back to my hometown in Atlanta, GA. Will update review with more details once I am moved in.

2022-06-04Dont move here unless you want your packages stolen..This place is a headache in a half. The renovations are rushed and not great at all. Theres been a lot of crime happening in this area as well. To top it all off your packages will get stolen when delivered to the mail room because the locked door is always open. The leasing office wont even let you access the footage for the mailroom to see who stole your package either. So I doubt they even have cameras in there.. I would move literally ANYWHERE else but here. The rent isnt even worth it. Oh, to top it off the apartments have roaches and spiders. So yeah, live anywhere else but here. As soon as my lease is up Im running far away from here.

2021-10-21I’ve been living here two months from now and I can start this review off by saying I made the right decision coming here. There’s a cool exclusive community feel here but what I love best is how responsive/engaged management is. This labor shortage we’re in is making it harder than ever to find good service so I’m incredibly thankful I stumbled upon the 500. I’ve put in two minor maintenance requests since I’ve been here and both were responded to within 24 hours. The buildings may not be the most luxurious but the interior renovated units and polished hardwood floors make up for that ☝🏾. The bedrooms are HUGE which is a major plus for me. Being 5-10 minutes from everything is definitely another +1.Special shout-out to Francis for making my move in experience extra smooth. He will go above and beyond to make sure things go right. Great staff overall 👍🏾

2020-10-24I lived here for a year. I will say the apartment itself is nice inside with the renovations they completed. They have a great apartment life team that does a great job at creating a positive experience and lots of free giveaways and ways to commune within the apartment. They also use an app to communicate about events and updates going on. I left because the apartment was infested with roaches and these huge camel crickets. I did everything possible to try to fix these within my apartment but nothing worked and pest control didn’t help much. I think it’s just infrastructure because they are old an not much has been done to fix it. The apartments are also very thin so you hear everything from your surrounding neighbors which was annoying. The staff are very friendly and truly try to work with their residents. Also an issue that I had was you have to pay two gas bills (one from the complex and then you have to get your own gas too) which was just crazy to me.

2020-10-26Aaron, Francis, and Sally in the leasing office are some of the kindest and most helpful people I may have ever met - their service is truly next level. My partner and I signed a short term lease as were new to the area, but we like the community and the complex so much that we might extend our stay! The grounds are clean and pretty and well kept, with tons of lovely big trees and lots of friendly tenants. The apartment itself is well laid out, with pretty floors and counters and a cute porch area. Were really happy with the place!

2020-09-28Absolutely horrible! I lived at the 500 for about 4 years with seeing at least 4 management groups take over the property. The last management group was the absolute worse. I loved every management group before them. Around the time I moved into my upgraded unit, the new management team arrived. It took them 5 months to replace my A/C unit and fix my hot/cold water in my shower. I spoke with an agent, assistant manager and the manager. It’s only when I called corporate that they finally listened. When it was time for me to finally move out; it was a covid outbreak at my job. So we had to quarantine for 2 weeks. The apartment complex charged me extra during that time. No work then my apartment complex charges me more money. Very sad. I never received my deposit after moving out. Plus they sent me to collections for my last bill even though I NEVER received my last bill. When I talked to the collections lady, she told me that a lot of the residents from The 500 expressed the same concerns about the last bill.

2020-08-06Great location, great amenities, and more!Ive been living here for almost a year and have little to no complaints. A lot of reviews mention the water getting shut off frequently which was the case when I first moved it but it rarely happens and is usually a result of the city or emergency so there isnt much management could do. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I havent explored the amenities a whole lot since they renovated the entire amenities/office building last year and it opened not long before covid hit causing them to close everything. The management that had taken over shortly before we moved in has worked out to renovate pretty much everything from mail rooms to dog parks to a car wash center and more. They actively work to keep the community engaged with each other even virtually via the apartment life team which frequently hosts events like trivia night or caking decorating contest. Overall, its been a great experience and I highly recommend staying here.

2021-11-10Living in the 500 has been pretty swell for me since I lived here. Unfortunately today I was highly disrespected by one of the leasing agents (Gladys) & I don’t think that is professional for the people you are supposed to be comfortable with during your stay to disrespect you!!!!! She laughed in my face 3x related to me going through pandemic hardship unknowing of any details & unknown I was going to politely ask her what was so funny or what was the joke? She insulted my intelligence multiple times & spoke to me as a minority, as if I lacked education or & even told me she could help me with the math as if I didn’t attend mathematics as any other American! This should not be tolerated from any of the leasing agents & was truly uncalled for! The 500 needs to make sure that they’re agents are being respectful to the residents no matter the circumstances because I never disrespected her but clearly she has no respect for the residents! I will say the site manager handled my frustration very well & polite & apologized for the agent’s unprofessionalism!!!!!

2020-02-09Moving from another state is always scary and you never really know anybody. Well my family’s experience was made so smooth and comfortable thanks to Aaron and all the others at the leasing office. We recently moved in about 3 months ago and everything has gone very good. The apartment was super clean and renovated. No signs of any bugs or litter on the outside. It was just perfect!! I really hope to renew my lease once it is up! The updates they have done since moving in is definitely a plus.
