The Ark Animal Hospital in other cities:
I just adopted a dog, she has now been here twice and will return in a few weeks for shots. I LOVE this place! My cats don’t have a set in stone regular vet because I’ve never found one nearby that I really liked that much. The Ark has been extremely transparent about pricing, their pricing is very fair and they are expedient with care. The technicians are so friendly and sweet with my nervous dog and make both of us comfortable. Will definitely bring my cats here in the future.
Making the appointment and getting the updated vaccines was fine. The following day I called to follow up when my dog got sick and was vomiting, hoping to get clarity on symptoms of the vaccines. Not only did I call for 20 mins straight to attempt getting someone on the phone with no success, but realized I had to wait through 5+ min of ringing to get to a voicemail. After leaving a voicemail I have still heard nothing back and talked to no one.Not happy overall and not planning on going back after spending $600 and getting no support after the bill was paid.
This hospital is family owned, and let me tell you, Dr. Harris and her staff will you treat you like family. They were there when I found my little stray in 2016 and joked about me definitely keeping her, no matter how many times I said no way, I cant (spoiler alert: I definitely kept her). They were there to comfort me after my little old man died after 16 beautiful years. They helped prepare us when my husband and I moved overseas with Chloe (that no-longer-little stray) and then back home to Atlanta. They are so wonderful and kind, you couldnt find a better clinic in the city. Even now that I live in Phoenix, I still call to ask them for help. (Shout out to KT for helping me, even though it was after hours!) Chloe and I have been to a lot of veterinary practices, but I have never felt so comfortable or so genuinely welcomed as I have at the Ark Animal Hospital. Thanks you guys!Picture is of Chloe enjoying one of her many vet visits :)
My experience with the Ark Animal Hospital has been nothing less than fantastic. I could write an essay on all the reasons why my experiences have been fantastic and why I chose The Ark for my puppies care, but instead I will be succinct. The staff is truly passionate about what they do. Their love for animals makes you feel fantastic about them providing care for your pet. The doctor is friendly, knowledgable and takes her time to make sure you understand your pets needs.Their scheduling and follow up system is also very efficient and professional. The Ark Animal Hospital is without question one of the top choices for your pets care!
The people that talk treat your dog like its part of their family the courteous theyre always there they always answer every single question you have no questions are too difficult no questions go on answered they take care of your dog from beginning to end. I never ething letting you know everything you need to know about the dog thats why I go there because my dog likes going there and when my dog tells me that that means the people treat the dog very well
Our regular vet was closed but recommended The Ark. Our dog had injured her paw over the weekend and we didnt want to wait until Monday. The experience couldnt have been better. From the person who answered the phone while we were in route to their location, to the front desk reception, the vet tech and doctor all made us feel welcome. They were very accommodating and were able to squeeze us in between other appointments with minimal waiting. Their communication of procedure and pricing was very clear and professional. Our drama queen doberman is a nervous nelly and they were so caring and did a great job making her feel at ease. Highly recommend!
Just wow! I’m so blown away by the customer service at this Vet! When I made my appt. I spoke with Danny, a super funny totally upbeat person. Had my appointment and the vet techs were all smiles, seriously. Dr. James Golden did the exam and stitches at lightning speed. I totally thought this would be a fluke, but when I called back the next day with a question, Mindy greeted me by my name (I didn’t give it) and put me on with Dr. Golden immediately. Animals are my world and this was the first time I needed one that specialized in reptiles. So happy to know I have a back up for my non-reptile children now too. Thank you so much Ark Animal Hospital for the incredible experience and lovely staff!
I have two small very friendly dogs that had to take a temperament test after spending over 800.00 in annual vaccinations they performed a temperament test and said they failed, they went to another location and their boarding place for the same thing and passed with flying colors they were so lazy that one of our animals was a senior that they did not want to deal with him and failed them both to avoid watching them for a weekend. My dogs are the nicest dogs ever with people and other dogs! This place is super lazy
I just moved nearby, and was so worried when I needed an exotic vet for my chameleon immediately after my move to a new area! The staff here are extremely kind, communicate clearly, and are overall very helpful. Chameleons can be notoriously difficult to work with, and they took in my female panther chameleon and got her what she needed to overcome an infection in no time. They even scheduled her follow up, and rolled the re-check appointment fee into my initial bill, so I don’t have anything to worry about upon my second visit. Their prices were very reasonable, particularly for an exotic vet! I will definitely be making them my go to for my scaley babies!
I’ve been here twice now. Once to get my rabbit spayed and once for an emergency for my dog. This is the only place in Atlanta I will recommend. WOW! They are so kind and caring, and timely when necessary. The communication is out of this world fantastic. I’ve never had a better experience with a veterinarian office. If you have to take your babies in, this is the place to go!
The Ark Animal Hospital has new owners and I am not impressed with the new owners or staff. I brought my dog in for a yearly wellness check and rabies shot and was given a total that was WELL above what I normally pay. My dog was signed up for a monthly wellness program that allowed me to pay a monthly fee and during appointments, it would be near $0. After the new owners took over, they stopped the wellness program and never informed the patients. So although I paid my monthly fee for the month, they did not honor my discount due to an issue with renewing the plans. I felt that it was completely unprofessional of the Ark Animal Hospital to not inform their patients of new ownership or the change with the wellness plans. At this moment, I would not recommend them to anyone.
Staff are always cheerful and helpful whenever we come in, and always do their best to make our dog as comfortable/happy as possible. If you have additional questions, they always make sure the vet calls you back later the same day to answer them. Pricing is reasonable for the services offered, and the staff is always willing to give you an accurate estimate about the cost of anything.
We love the Ark Animal Hospital as a veterinarian for our dog, Ponce. Most importantly, he loves it too! They treat him so well that he has no problems going in for shots or check ups. He loves it! We also use the Bark boarding too and he has such a great time there. He’s a big Great Dane, so sometimes it can be difficult handling him bc of his size, but they’ve always been great and they remember us every time we go in or call, which means a lot when you’re trusting someone with your pet. I would recommend the Ark to anyone and I know you’ll have a great experience.
I have nothing but amazing things to say about the Ark! They are always going out of their way to be kind and loving to our animals! You can tell that they not only love animals, but they seem to really enjoy their job! I love that they always check the price with you BEFORE doing anything! They have a great wellness plan that works similarly to pet insurance.Dr. Duncan has helped both of my pups and works well after closing writing up notes and instructions for medicine/ care for my dogs! She loves animals and it is very apparent that she is in the right profession. She treats my dogs like her own!Dr. Golden figured out that one of my babies has major allergies which consistently presented itself as ear infections. It was so extreme that my dog would barely go a few days without having an ear infection, before another one started forming. No matter how many times I cleaned his ears- they would return! Dr. Golden has been working with me for a couple years and I am pleased to note that my dog hasn’t had an ear infection in at least a year!Dr. Johnson figured out that my dogs diet (which was a very reputable brand) was actually giving him extreme gas and pain, making him lose weight. She recommended switching to another diet and gave other suggestions for his gut heath. Once on the new diet his bowel movement were pain free, he regained the weight that he had lost, and acquired a “puppy like excitement” that I hadn’t seen in years! She literally gave my dog his life back!I happened to call today to check on lab work, and KT looked at my dog’s file and realized that they forgot to give me the wellness plan discount. She then proceeded to credit me and apologize for the error! I only called to learn more about lab work and I ended up getting credited money. I WOULD NEVER HAVE KNOWN that they made a mistake on my last bill and the fact that THEY CAUGHT THEIR OWN MISTAKE, APOLOGIZED, AND FIXED IT says all that you need to know! These people are hard working, caring, and truly honest people. Thank you for working tirelessly, loving our pets like your own, and putting your lives on the line to help keep our pets healthy!
Brought my pet mouse here just for an exam to see if he was a candidate to be neutered and 30 minutes later got a call that I needed to euthanize him because he had fallen from the exam table and his lungs collapsed. I chose to bring him here because they advertise specialized care for small pets.Beyond devastated and disappointed by them. They wanted me to still pay for the cost of euthanizing him (despite him being fatally injured in their care) but after disputing that they comped that fee. The only good service was from reception staff who were warm and showed some concern.
Ark staff are compassionate, professional and this hospital is really well run and organized. Moved to Atlanta five years ago with my elderly dog, and weve had numerous routine and emergency visits. Im always so pleased with my experience at Ark and leave feeling relieved. Ive worked with Dr. Johnson and Dr. Harris and most recently, with tech K.T. as well. Real pros but also just friendly and compassionate! Ark staff are mindful of cost and how pet owners might not choose to spend money on the most extreme interventions, Ive never once felt judged or pressured. Ark folks have great people skills as well as animal skills and I love this family run hospital!
Not reliable, horrible communication.I recently adopted a puppy and began taking him to The Ark. After our first visit, we were informed our pup had been diagnosed with a medical condition. Being a first time pup parent I had multiple questions with the little information they gave me. I felt as though I had to pry information out of them. They gave us incomplete medical records which did not correctly document my pups condition. We only received the fully detailed report after asking. The following week I called the Ark to ask questions about the medication they prescribed and the effects it was having on my puppy. They hung up the phone and my questions went unanswered. I called back a few days later and someone picked up and asked for my contact information so a vet could contact me. They never called.I now take my pup to a new vet. We received more useful information with a different vet within 5 minutes than we had received from the Ark within a month.Do not take your pets here unless you want unprofessional services. Take your pets here if you are okay with the bare minimum.
Ive been going to the Ark for about 2 years. I moved to Atlanta about 2 and a half years ago and started going to a vet that I didnt love. The Ark was the 3rd Vet I ended up trying and it immediately checked all the boxes for me. They are great at making sure I stay up to date with everything that my dogs need and when I got my second pup a year ago they were great about everything. Most recently, my dog got bit by another dog in our apartment complex and everyone at The Ark was super helpful. KT made sure that we were checked in and knew what the process would be. Dr. Johnson took exceptional care of Reese and was very thorough. They made sure they went through the entire process with us, let us know what they were going to do and what the recovery process would be like. My pup is all stitched up now and recovering well and when I got a little nervous this morning, I brought her in and they made sure everything was fine free of charge. Overall Ive had a great experience at The Ark.
I cant rave enough about The Ark Animal Hospital. Arianna and KT went above and beyond to comfort me and get me in to see Dr. Golden when my 15 year old Pomeranian wasnt responsive, eating or drinking recently. They also saved her life when she was diagnosed with pancreatitis. Im so grateful for this team and how loving they are toward the animals. Your babies will be in the best care with this staff. To the team at The Ark Animal Hospital-- Thank you for all you do!
I took my puppy here twice in the past two weeks. The first time we scheduled an appointment for 2:00pm and they had us out their waiting until 2:45 before they even came and grabbed our dog and we didn’t leave until 4:00 for a basic puppy check up. The second time, I also had an appointment, i was 10 minutes late on the dot and they charged me a late fee! After charging me a late fee, they took 30 more minutes to even come out and grab my dog?? But I still had to pay a fee. Then, my puppy was having issues with blood in her poop, they tested her stool and told me everything was fine and sent us home. I took my puppy two days later to a different vet because we were still having the same issues and they did see bacteria and gave her a prescription. On top of all this, the staff is very unprofessional, when checking us out, we were told 4 different prices, by different people, nobody knows exactly what is going on they are very disorganized. Overall, it’s too many other options to waste time going here!
Dr. Johnson and all the techs and staff at Ark Animal Hospital are so wonderful. Our cat had a UTI, and they took excellent care of him. Dr. Johnson was so understanding and answered all of our questions. She and the techs gave us regular updates on how our cat was doing, and we knew they were monitoring him and taking great care of him. I am so impressed with the service. I felt like they were very thorough, but it never felt like they were pushing unnecessary treatments or services on us. Our cat is doing great! I would highly recommend Ark Animal Hospital.
I have been taking my “baby” to the Ark Hospital for years now and they’re absolutely amazing! We were referred to them by KT, who is one of a kind and truly cares about the wellbeing of your baby. It’s so rare to find people that genuinely care about your pet the way that you do and this place does just that. Prices are discussed prior to pet care and they are so good with working with you and also offer specials. I would definitely recommend the Ark Hospital to anyone because they LITERALLY saved my baby’s life!!!
Great place! Awesome staff! This was my first time coming to the business and I will be back! Josh that helped me book my appointment had A1 customer service skills and answered my many questions with ease.Elena that met me at the car and took my baby inside had a great personality and was so gentle ! She gave my great feedback from the Dr and overall was a joy to talk to.I’ll definitely be back !
Ark has been the vet of choice for our dog since weve adopted him. Hes ended up loving to go to the vet because the staff is so kind, gentle, and patient. The manager KT and Dr. Golden in particular have been extremely helpful both over the phone and in last minute situations without an appointment. Theyll continue to be our animals vet for as long as were in Atlanta!
Close to a month ago my puppy ate half a foam pillow and required Emergency surgery. Thanks to the urgency of the staff at The Ark Hospital Midtown, my fur baby was taken care of immediately and saved him from a life threatening situation. They truly care about what they do, I never had to call the hospital about my dog because someone from the staff always reached out to me to give me an update regarding his care. I now consider myself a client of this hospital and plan to bring my other two fur kids to see them. You cant go wrong at all with this location. They are the best!
Arrived for scheduled appointment and waited almost an hour in the car for them to take my puppy back. She had an elevated temperature because of sitting in the car even though the ac was running she is a Siberian Husky with very thick fur. You don’t get to go in with your pup due these trying times which makes you feel uneasy. I would have felt more comfortable just knowing how she did and getting feedback from the doctor about her experience. I wanted to ask about my pups diet but felt the doctor was very short with me probably due to having a lot of patients which made me even more uneasy. When my pup came out she was filthy wet and had brown liquid all over her fur. I was disgusted and that really confirmed my decision not to choose that vet again. It was overpriced but people seemed nice just overwhelmed.
Worst Vet or Animal Hospital in the entire state of GA. Piss poor service. I’ve sat outside waiting for my puppy for over an hr after being told she was ready. Was charged all these additional fees even a late fee but I had an appointment. They took 20 minutes just to come out to get my dog which I had an appointment for. Was charged over $200 for a basic checkup of stool and eyes. Makes no sense. Only reason you would want to go here is to be swindled out of your money and your time substantially wasted.
First experience was very positive. I moved to a new area in town and needed to change veterinarians. I had passed The Ark Animal Hospital on several occasions walking my dog. The check in process was smooth and I interacted with several staff members who were excellent with my dog, including the doctor who gave him his annual shots and examinations. Several things I really like: they dremel the claws and offer a package of services and monthly savings. This tells me they have high regard for our pets, as well as our wallets. Im very happy to have found The Ark Animal Hospital!
The entire staff at Ark try their best to be mindful of your financial situation. I’m always warned about the costs of procedures BEFORE they are done, and I’m given a detailed summary of charges when I pay. Any procedures done on my pets were in the animal’s best interest, and if there’s any question, they’re happy to explain everything to you.I initially chose this vet because it was close to my house, but even after I moved further away, I continued to come here because they showed compassion toward me and my pets. Also the manager, KT, is an angel on Earth who cares deeply about making this business better.
I have never been to an animal hospital as wonderful as The Ark. You can tell the staff truly love and care for every animal that comes through the door. My husbands cat of 20 years that he loved dearly had to be put down and the staff helped us with the decision and comforted us through the entire process. About a week later, we received a sweet card in the mail that had a message from every single person that worked at The Ark letting us know that they were thinking of us during this hard time. Last weekend, my parents had an emergency with their poodle and decided to take the little guy to The Ark as well. They received the same amazing service and were able to get their little pup fixed up and home in no time. I cannot say enough about this hospital and find peace of mind in knowing that I have a place I can trust to bring my animals to 24 hours a day and know that they will receive the best care.
I have thoroughly enjoyed bringing my sweet dog, Delta to see Dr. Johnson and her awesome team (Dr. Golden, KT, Alex and Cam to name a few). The hospital is SUPERBLY clean, smells great, and the staff truly take their time to educate you on your pets health, medical updates and more. I drive more than 1.5 hours (from Lake Lanier) to ensure that my dog has the highest quality of care, which i have only experienced at the Ark Animal Hospital.
I am visiting Atlanta when my 22 month old golden retriever had something green leaking from her eye. I freaked out but Drea was able to get me an appointment right away. Tia the Tech was wonderful and so sweet. When Dr. Johnson came into the room she explained everything to me. It was just a simple case of pink eye, but Dr. J did so much more. My dog is also epileptic so Dr. Johnson told where the emergency clinic where if I needed middle of the night care and gave me articles about the epileptic medicine my dog is on. She TRULY cares about the animals. My visit was perfect; fast, friendly service at reasonable prices. Thank you so much to everyone at Ark, especially Dr. Johnson.
Had to take my Mastiff puppy earlier this year due to the fact that she couldnt walk for a couple of days. The specific day I took her was the worst yet because she couldnt even stand a bit. Was recommended to Ark from another vet that was full. Obviously due to covid they were restricting clients from entering(all for it!) The issues arose once we were being attended, I was told I could cover anything in payments, the lady was even nice enough to give us a pamphlet with different plans. Once it was our turn I asked if they had anyway to wheel her in since she wasnt able to stand, my baby was literally crying from not being able to walk. The nurses came out and dragged my puppy in by pulling on her collar and forcing her to either WALK or GET DRUG which obviously she wasnt going to get up. Once we left her with the vet, I made it halfway home when I received a call from the vet letting me know that they wouldnt be able to move forward unless I make a payment and basically denied that there was a payment plan. I had to leave myself in a bad financial situation after that since I wasnt ready to pay a huge chunk at once. Definitely not worth driving half way across town to get ripped off. I RECOMMEND WELLPET HUMANE, WAY MORE STRAIGTH FORWARD AND HELPFUL
Although there have been reviews of long wait times, I have to say, the staff were friendly, safe, and very accommodating. Yes, during the Covid crisis, you are going to wait a bit longer, so what. Where else are you going to find a vet that is open and available on Sundays??? The staff maintained safety measures and treated my kitten and I found them to be very affordable. Give the staff some credit. They are doing an amazing job under difficult circumstances. I absolutely will use this vet office again.
I took my puppy up for a initial checkup paid for a fecal test and was given no real information about my puppy. They gave my dog a score of 3/5 for hair thinning. But gave me no information about her eyes or fecal. She began having streaks of blood in her stool after I brought her here to get her second set of shots. I paid over $200 for essentially nothing. I was sent home with medication supposedly but it was just fortiflora a probiotic I could have purchased myself. I was also supposed to have 5 packs of the fortiflora and they sent me home with one 1. When I called back about it, it somehow became my responsibility to correct their mistake of giving me the wrong amount. I took my dog to thrive vet, they real a real fecal test with results. My puppy had a bacterial infection that required an actual prescription. I would have never known this if I left it up to Ark animal hospital. They aren’t a real vet. Just a money grab scheme. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone who cares about their pets.
I first came to Ark for urgent care for our cat. It was late at night and since theyre open 24 hours, it was the only option. The veterinarians took great care of our baby and we were able to take her home the next day. Weve also been to Ark for routine visits since then and our experience has always been fast and friendly. The whole staff is great, especially KT and Tara. They are very knowledgeable and truly love animals and remember them every time you come in. Prices can be a little steep, but its worth it!
I’ve been with the Ark for about 3 years i even signed for a wellness plan, but unfortunately besides the fact that they are over priced and they ALWAYS suggest unnecessary expensive treatments i had another issue with them.We are in the middle of a pandemic and all i asked was for my dogs medication to be mailed to our home since we are avoiding unnecessary, contact but even so they refused to do, we are living in times that everyone is adjusting their business model to accommodate old and new clients.Well lesson learned, Ark animal hospital will never see my money again once i cancel my wellness plan.
Dr Johnson is such a good doctor. My dog was having seizures and Dr Johnson diagnosed him with Addisons disease within two days. If she didnt he would have probably died. I am so thankful for her and the knowledge she has about dogs. She seriously saved his life. Also the front desk staff is so friendly. KT always is very sweet and caring towards my dog. They take very good care of your dog here and you can tell their passionate about what they do. THANK YOU ARK ANIMAL! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Ive been coming to Ark Animal Hospital for 4 years and I always had great customer service and a great experience with them. Everyone is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I like how they always addresses my dogs by name when we walk through the door. Even though I now live an hour away, they are the only veterinarian I trust for my dogs health needs.
I have visited this vet several times because their location is so convenient or because all other vets were booked up and I needed to have my cat seen urgently; which is the only reason I am giving them 2 stars. However, I have been nothing but disappointed over and over again with this place. They over charge and always try to tack on extra services that you dont need. During one of my visits the veterinarian came in the room practically screaming. His normal talking voice was so loud that it freaked my cat out. Needless to say, she was a non-cooperative patient and had to be sedated in order to work with her (which tacked on an extra $90 to my bill). I wish the vets there would be more calm and soothing towards the animals because it is stressful enough for cats to go to the vet and they dont seem to be cognizant or caring of that. Furthermore, I have been greatly disappointed by the staff behind the reception desk. I think they must be under-staffed there because the person behind the desk is often so frazzled and busy. When calling there, I usually get put on hold for so long that they forget about me and the call ends up going to voicemail, so I have to keep calling back and it just seems like a mess going on there. Also, dont even bother making an appointment because they will take walk-ins who checked in before you anyways. I always have to wait past my scheduled appointment time before I am seen. Queue management could be greatly improved at this place.
My puppy needed emergency surgery hours before I left on a week-long overseas trip. The staff was so kind to me (I was hysterical) and took really great care of my little munchkin. They kept him the whole time I was gone and emailed me pictures to ease my worry. The front desk people, the vet techs, and Dr. Johnson all really seem to love what they do, and it shows in their work. Im very lucky to have them as my dogs vet team—even though I hope to not see them as frequently as I have the last couple of weeks!
KT the Practice Manager, Brittany (Reception) and Dr. Golden helped me tremendously with my baby Storm an American mini pig who was vomiting profusely. thank you so much for being so caring and loving with my baby girl.you guys make an excellent team. Excellent customer service and very professional teamI sincerely recommend The Ark Animal!!
Our first experience was great! My dog is very feisty and sometimes scared of new people touching him. He instantly took to the staff (Tia and Dr.Baker). Dr.Baker gave excellent advice and set him up with a great treatment plan that seems to be already working. Definitely our new vet for our baby!
We love The Ark! The employees are always so great. We had to make a trip tonight with one of our dogs and Cam and KT were awesome. Dr. Johnson was very helpful explaining what was wrong with our dog. We have plenty of closer vets but we drive to the Ark for the service.
Used The Ark AH when my dogs battle resulted in a ripped ear on the Chocolate Lab. It was my first time using them. All of the staff there gave excellent customer service and put my tensions at ease. It took a couple of visits before the repair got on track. Dr. Johnson was very sensitive to looking for alternative ways to address the problem that would accommodate my dogs reaction to the repair. After they boarded him to keep him contained and monitored in the 3 critical days following surgery, everything worked our well. Kenya was the best. She gave extra TLC, taught me how to care for the ear with a private demonstration. I would highly recommend using The Ark. Dr. Johnson, Kenya and the staff are the best. Ill be switching to The Ark for all my vet needs.
Caring folks. I liked my experience at the Ark.. I brought my dog Diego in for a routine exam. They have a great clinic with a lot of the latest technology that I saw from the exam area I was in. I work with pets every day and this was a great place. Very clean. They know their stuff. The pricing mght be a little higher than a General Practice vet after hours, but not by much and they have emergency care that is MUCH lower than a St. Francis or Blue Pearl. Nice staff. Thanks for helping my pal Diego.
Omg. I went to a vet in Decatur GA. They were horrible with their service. Not prepared at all. I gotten on Siri to help me find a vet for my adopted puppy. I called Animal Ark and spoke with KT. Omg. Her customer service is out of this world. Professional nice and full of information. Thank you for being there for me and making my puppy Fendi feel great and about the service as well. KUDOS! KT. Your awesome. Keep up the good work
I am so glad I found The Ark. Theyve been my cats vet since I moved here 5 years ago. Dr. Johnson and her staff are always good with my girls, and the medical care is excellent. They also looked after my now-departed elderly bunny until he required a procedure they did not perform at the time, for which they referred my to a rabbit expert who did. Whether my furbabies have had shots, dental cleaning, or surgery, they call the next day to see how theyre doing.
I would definitely recommend this hospital to anyone with a beardie. I was travelling for the new year and brought my bearded dragons with me. Unfortunately once I arrived in Atlanta, one of them ripped out a nail and I immediately started freaking out. I called this place and they were able to squeeze us in for an appointment which I was sooooo grateful for. Everyone was very friendly and seemed genuinely concerned for my pet. Once Dr. Harris looked at everything she reassured me that my baby would be fine and explained the situation (after I calmed down). The staff loved on both my dragons for a while then sent me home with a few medications. Although I live in Alabama, I have no problem bringing them back to the Ark to recheck the nail. They were all such good help to me.
All round fantastic experience at Ark Animal Hospital. The team makes you feel like your requests are never too much (even when they perhaps are) and the standard of care is second to none. Our dog actually enjoys going to the vet, which cannot often be said! The team has gone above and beyond meeting our expectations. Thank you!
Orlando at The Ark daycare goes out of his way every time I bring my pup Pizza for daycare or boarding to make her comfortable. She’s well socialized but struggles with separation anxiety often and he does THE MOST to help her feel at home and loved when I’m at work. So thankful!
I cant say enough good things about the Ark! They are pit bull friendly, have an amazing staff, can always get you in, are reasonably priced and dont try to make you do 100 things your pet doesnt need. They are all super sweet and great with my rambunctious dog! Im so sad to have to leave them since I am moving out of state, I hope to find a vet as great as them in my new area. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Ive taken my pets to the Ark on more than one emergency occasion, and the staff has been very accommodating and reassuring through such a stressful time for us. My dog feels more comfortable here than any other vet weve been to- not only for emergencies but also for grooming and regular checkups. I wouldnt take my pets anywhere else.
I’ll elaborate. My main concern is that the medical advice we received was incompetent.Judging by two incidents:1) Our dog had pneumonia - pretty simple to diagnose. You kept him for a few days without diagnosis, on wrong meds. Eventually, when he had gotten worse, we were offered an exploratory stomach (!) surgery. We transferred him to St Francis hospital where he was immediately diagnosed pneumonia and put on the right antibiotic and got better. An exploratory stomach surgery would be dangerous with pneumonia, not to mention it was a wrong place to look!2) We brought him in another time with an infected wound. We thought it’s a relatively simple problem to address at a local vet. He was prescribed topical treatment with steroid. Steroid treatment made him much worse. We went to St Francis and he is now on oral antibiotics and getting better. Prescribing a steroid topical treatment for an infected wound was reckless! Feels like something a qualified vet would know. The staff at Ark is nice and it’s easy to make same day appointment. But both time we went, our dog was hurt. Not coming back!
I absolutely love the Ark! The staff is always friendly and kind. It NEVER smells like a Veterinarians office. Dr. Johnson is so so, nice...always consistent. It shows in her work she really loves what she does! I also love the Bark at the Ark. I havent used the boarding, only the grooming. And Frankie loves it! The Ark is my one stop shop for my Frankies needs!!
I was very impressed by the staff, cleanliness of the facility, and the care I received. Everyone from the admistrator to the veterinarian technician was attentive and sensitive to my situation. Convenient, easy to get to location in Midtown Atlanta with great operating hours. They even sent me a handwritten sympathy card after the death of my pet, and all the small touches that they the put into it meant a lot to me. I highly recommend the Ark Animal Hospital
We were referred to The Ark for overnight post-operative medical care after our dogs splenectomy. From the time we arrived, they were patient, kind & answered any questions we had - day & night. They took excellent care of our baby & I would absolutely recommend them!
The people at Ark are SAINTS. My dog was viciously sick about 1-2 months ago, and they took EXQUISITE care of her. Dr. Johnson is incredible, the vet techs are all extremely patient and professional, and for once, my dog doesnt mind going to the vet. They were extremely tolerant of me and all of my questions, and the zillion times Ive called. I like knowing that her regular vet is open 24/7, because if theres an emergency, theyll be there. Really, they are amazing. I recommend this vet to anyone and everyone.
Everyone is nice but buyer beware!Took our dog in due to an insulin spike and after spending over $500 on an emergency visit, they recommended we spend another $1500 to treat him with no guarantee that he would make it. According to the vet that was the only thing that would give him a chance to live.We took him home and the next day took him to the humane society where they adjusted his insulin and was back to his normal self in a couple days! Its a shame. Weve been taking our dog here for a couple years but will have to consider other options going forward!
I took my cat here because it was the closest place to my home and had good reviews. The staff on my initial visit last June was great. I have brought my cat back several times since because they had his history at that point, but I was increasingly disappointed with the manner in which they treated my cat and me. My cat is now frightened of the vet and he never used to be - I’ve had him 16 years. I always had to tell the staff there this which means they were never actually looking at his history....the very reason I was going ! SO done!
Overpriced and subpar service. On my most recent visit I waited 20 minutes past my appointment time before the vet tech approached me. Rather than leading me and my pet into a private exam room, the vet tech took my pet into the back office without me for 15 minutes. When my pet was brought back out I was informed she had chewed through her leash - if we had been brought into an exam room (as is standard practice) this would not have happened. I can only imagine that my pet was leashed/tied up in the back until someone could get to her, this is the only scenario in which I can imagine her chewing through her leash. She was scared and anxious when she was brought back out to me. On top of it all, I was still charged $31 for an office visit - although I did not see the vet for a single second, and $200 for the “treatment” my pet received in the back. Needless to say I will not bring my pet back here and will share with everyone and anyone my experience here. If I could give 0 stars I would.
Oh my GOD. EVERYONE AT THE ARK ARE SAINTS. First off, the place is beyond clean and the receptionist Shelli was so sweet to me on the phone and in person. Great first impression.Anyway- I just adopted two very large dogs who are very bonded. Upon arriving to the vet, This morning was a legit Shi* show. They were so sick and I was so scared and stressed. I rushed them to the hospital.I came into this hospital and everyone was so sweet, kind and patient. When I get stressed I can not listen and become a bit of a nervous space cadet - patient and amazing Janett and Doc (forgive me, I cant remember both of the doctors names I saw)talked to me for over two hours REPEATING to me on how to best tackle these twos illnesses. I probably asked the same question 10times. Bless you both for your patience. They didnt make me feel guilty for not spending money on multiple tests and they treated my dogs. They also WAIVED my office visits because I adopted my dogs recently. Janett and Doc seriously took so much time with me and really really walked me thru everything - reasurring me I was doing the best and right thing on my budget. Treating two dogs is so expensive and they really helped me today with my mental serenity, check book, and care of my fur babies.I can not thank this entire team enough. My dogs are doing much better and I felt like everyone really cared about the animals and ME! Check out was a breeze and the office manager KT made sure I was all taken care of at the end of my visit. Thank you! When I returned to pick up my dogs, sweet Janett made sure to come in and check on ME and say goodbye. So sweet. Then a wonderful Vet Tech helped me to my car with my dogs. From the bottom of my heart, thank you The Ark Team. I Really felt like they cared and it wasnt a business! I cant recommend them more. This is now my forever Vet.Xoxox
Terrible service. I scheduled for a minor check-in, and they confirmed the appointment the day prior via a phone call.I arrived at the designated time and called in to sign in and was told an intake form would be provided. I waited 20 minutes no one came outside with an intake form. I call back in, the first time the operator “transfers” me to a secretary, and the secretary promised they will come outside, another 20-30 minutes passes and no one comes outside. I call in again and the phone “operator” is now the Secretary (the person I was supposedly transferred to) and she promises someone will be outside. In the meantime 3 other cars pull up and they’re all provided with forms during this. I call in one last time and the secretary tells me they didn’t see my car. There’s only 4 spots with designated assigned numbers and I hadn’t moved for almost an hour.Clearly, they’re very disorganized. But then they have the audacity to lie about who they are or where my car was located to cover up their disorganization. Either they’re overbooking meeting slots or they’re just unprofessional and lie to you. I ended up leaving with my pet after an hour 5 phone calls and zero help.I suggest going to another vet that keeps their appointment times and doesn’t lie about it. Terrible customer service and poorly ran service.
Ark Animal Hospital is the best and most fair vet that I have found in Atlanta! I love that they dont try to scam me with treatments that I dont really need, they work with me, and they have fair prices! Danny and KT who work at the front desk are helpful and so friendly, and their lab technician is down to earth and suggested all of the appropriate treatments for my cats and dog with no pressure. I also had nothing but pleasant experiences with the veterinarian; he was nothing but honest and knowledgeable. Thanks Ark Animal Hospital!
There’s a list of great things I can say about this place. Dr. Johnson is amazing. She saved our tuxedo cat‘s tail that we rescued. KT is so awesome! So is Sade. They gives us the best treatment. Our dog and cats are treated here. They love animals and it shows by their knowledge and the quality of service. Very accommodating and loving.
Today I had to make an emergency visit before I took off on a flight. From the receptionists to the techs to the vet, I had an incredible experience. Everyone was SO helpful, friendly, and extremely kind. They were so accommodating and worked fast so I wouldnt miss my flight! They never made me feel pressured and even when my cat went nuts (shes just not a friendly cat in general) and scratched them, they did not make me feel bad. I truly appreciate them so much. Also, they have an awesome monthly plan for the year so you dont wind up paying a lot of money at one appointment- very considerate and it saves you money!Needless to say, I highly recommend them!!
Was there early today to get our kitten started on his shots. Our appointment was for 3:00pm and as a new client we arrived early to complete the new client paperwork. We called as stated on the sign once we had arrived and ended up waiting in the parking lot for 15 mins before anyone came over (3:05pm) They were busy so we were trying to be flexible because we live in crazy times. Then Edward came to our car and gave us the paperwork. We weren’t able to find the records for our kitten and were asking about how we should proceed to Edward. He then told us that “I am too busy right now to call them so your gunna have too l. Like do you see our parking lot...” (reading it you probably won’t get it but it was a lot of attitude) again trying to be flexible so we called our other vet to email our kittens records to Us so we could send it to Ark. After receiving the email and waiting for Edward to come back (per his instructions) we waited for an additional 35 mins (3:40pm) I know that this place gets good reviews and it’s a tough time right now but we felt like we were almost a part of the problem of them being busy by just trying to become a client. Needless to say after waiting 40 mins past when the appointment was supposed to start we chose to go to a different vet. Under employed and over rated.
First time pet owners should be mindful before taking their animals to be seen at this facility. Unfortunately, our stray kittens were not given an adequate level of care here. We recently took in two stray kittens and brought them for their initial visits at Ark Animal hospital. We are first time pet owners. The first visit went fine (aside from an an up-sell that was pushed onto us.) However, we did not think too much about this initially and brought one of our kittens in again for another visit.During the second appointment we brought in our kitten who was feeling unwell. I was told by Dr. Johnson that the kitten could have cancer and would need certain medications and tests (for an expectational fee.) This was very devastating and upsetting to hear, because the only symptom displayed was nausea and vomiting. After showing me her x-ray, Dr. Johnson told me she could not gather substantial information from the image. I was told that our kitten would need to stay overnight (adding costs to the already increasing bill.) I was not given a reason as to why the x-ray was unclear or why our kitten needed to stay overnight.Against the doctor’s advice, I took our kitten home and scheduled an appointment with a separate animal hospital at the recommendation of a friend. The visit with the other veterinarian went drastically differently. 1: We found out the kitten does not have cancer. 2: Another x-ray was performed and the veterinarian explained that the kitten had a simple digestive issue and was constipated. This veterinarian explained that it’s very normal for kittens to ingest items that are not food or simply need to drink more water. All of which can cause constipation. Our kitten got a shot and we took some laxatives home. It was very simple.I don’t often write reviews, but I felt it was necessary to do so about our experience with Ark. Primarily, for those who are first time pet owners and vulnerable to receiving misinformation. Or those who have taken in stray animals. I hope the level of care here increases for the sake of their clients.PS: Try to get a copy of your pet’s records during each visit. I asked for our pet records to be sent via email so that I could forward the information to their new veterinarian who requested them before the appointment. I received some of their medical records via email, but not all. Because I also had the printed records at home, I was able to piece them together.
My teacup yorkie, Diva has been going to Ark Animal Hospital since I got her at 11 weeks old. She is now 4 years old. From day one I fell in love with his place. Dr Johnson is awesome. She truly cares for the animals and has a passion for her job. I have ALWAYS had great technicians when we go, and everyone is always so nice. I am always recommending people take their pets to Ark Animal Hospital. Thank you all for everything.
I have been bringing my maltipoo here for over a year now and the vets and technicians have never failed to accommodate me and my pets needs. The staff is professional, friendly, and truly cares about your animals health and well-being. Whether it be a routine visit, or emergency visit, I feel that they are extremely fair in terms of pricing and even offered me a student discount (I am still in college). Ark Animal Hospital is simply the best animal hospital around.
Today I took my pup, Neville, in to be rechecked for an injury he had last weekend! By mistake we were charges with a full check up rather than a recheck. We didnt even notice and less than an hour later KC called us and let us know about the mistake along with a credit on our account to be used at any time! We love Ark and most importantly our pups love Ark!
Quick, kind and professional. Upon calling to make an appointment, they were able to get me in the next day, and they were very kind and helpful in dealing with my older cat who is absolutely terrible with trips to the vet. I felt comfortable leaving her there for the procedure, and upon picking her up the vet took the time to make sure I fully understood the medication and care following my cats visit. They have my business.
My husband and I were among many evacuees from Florida during Hurricane Irma. We experinced many miracles during a trip we wont soon forget. Miracle #1, we found a hotel in Atlanta. Our dog doesnt like to ride in cars and the stressful ride took its toll on him. By the time we arrive at our hotel, he could hardly breathe. Miracle #2 Dr. Johnson and the entire staff provided just what we needed when we needed it. Loving The Ark from the other side of the storm!!
In any situation, you all have always been a great representation of what Morals, compassion, hard work and dedication, and even redemption are. That is exactly what The Ark Animal Hospital is! I am a witness of the EXCELLENCE that happens on a day to day basis not only with clients but with my personal pets. I want to encourage all of you to keep on doing what you do, because without you the vet world would suffer an incredible loss. Thank you all for your hard work!!
They have the nicest and most caring staff of any vet/pet hospital Ive ever been to. Not only do they remember the dog, they make such an impression that your dog will remember them. We have an extremely nervous golden, who kept shaking until she saw her favorite technician. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
One thing you can tell immediately upon entering Ark is that they care about you and your pets. I’ve been coming here for five years now and they have been through thick and thin with me and my four cats. Not only are they always straight forward and professional, but they try to stick with only the necessary tests so that both your kitty and your wallet aren’t put through the ringer. Jade and doctor Golden we’re kind, gentle and very thorough when I had to bring my cat Meatball in recently. The manager KT always makes herself available to you and it’s incredibly knowledgeable and courteous and Tay is honestly just an amazing human being. If you want the best staff and the best treatment for your pets in a caring environment definitely come here.
Brought my pup in last minute when our vet was closed. Unfortunately, my little pup was bit at the dog park and I was frantic. The Ark staff immediately calmed me and thoroughly and kindly mended my dog back up. Thank you all! You not only made me feel better, but my dog too! Would highly recommend.
If I could give this establishment 0 stars, I would. I had the most traumatic and awful experience here. The receptionists are wonderful, but the actual vets and vet technicians are horrible..I came in because my puppy had a cyst. They took him into the back room and when they came back said, he popped it himself... umm ok. Thats kind of fishy. They sent me home with a gaping hole in my dog and gave me oral antibiotics.Obviously the hole got bigger, so I was concerned. They told me to bring him back in. I waited SIX hours and they brought my puppy out to me drugged up and with 4 staples in him... I never authorized this. I asked to speak with the vet in charge and they said I would need to wait up to 3 hours... I was furious. The following day I called my reputable vet to make sure my puppy was seen properly. He was horrified that they stapled up an infection. This could have caused some serious damage. He then had to remove the horribly mangled staples and prescribe him a topical cream and an antibiotic shot. My puppy is all better after 10 days later. If you want your animal to be seen by properly trained vets, DO NOT take them here. This place should be shut down in my opinion. They are only concerned with making a profit and do not care about the health or well-being of the animal.
I needed a vet and of course it was an early morning before most vets are even open. I went to the Ark Animal Hospital and they were very professional and kind, I saw the vet, got what was needed and was on my way quickly.Time passed and the Ark was my vet. Most recently I had to make the very tough decision to put my cat to sleep. All of the staff was so supportive and kind...I would highly recommend the Ark for their abilities to treat your pet and for the compassion they resonate.
The night that I had to bring my puppy to the Ark Animal Hospital was extremely emotional for me. After shed suffered what appeared to be severe head trauma due to a fall, I was genuinely worried that she might not survive, let alone recover. The Ark Animal Hospital was clean, inviting, and above all had a set of staff, vet techs, and doctors that were kind, compassionate, and informative. They didnt pressure me about cost or having to go through a litany of tests, but they were thorough in diagnosing and treating my puppy. I picked her up 24 hours later in stable condition, and within the week she was back to her normal self. The staff even called a few days later to check on her status, which I found to be very considerate. Highly recommended.
The Ark is an excellent animal hospital. I have taken my cat Otis there twice for emergency vet services, and I couldnt have had better experiences. Very professional, very caring, and top-notch work. Ive been to other emergency vets over the years, and none come close to the care at The Ark. This is the place to go, hands down. I am extremely grateful to the staff for bringing Otis back to health. A+++++
I have been debating writing a review for a few months, and pains me to do so as it brings up bad memories, however I feel the public should know about my experience before choosing The Ark as their vet/boarding facility. My guinea pig Nugget, was seen back in April, and had a cancerous tumor removed. The surgery itself was a success, however, communication was very disorganized resulting in conflicting aftercare instructions which slowed Nuggets recovery time. He was very touch and go for a while and there were many times he had to be force fed to keep him alive. During his surgical recovery, he developed a upper respiratory infection which The Ark was treating with medication and he was soley under their care. This was to be expected as his immune system was down after surgery. I had to leave town for work during the course of his treatment and chose to board him at The Ark for the 4/5 days I was away because I needed to ensure his medication and aftercare was in a controlled environment and only trusted the vet he was treating at to do so. Unfortunately, when I arrived home, although Nugget seemed happy and in good spirits (hes a very happy pig even through all this), I found out he wasnt given one of his prescribed (by the Ark) medication and was accidentally given one of his post surgery medications which wasnt needed for multiple days. I was very distraught. The staff did take care of this for me, did an investigation, and acknowledged that communication within the staff and doctors (an ongoing issue) led to this even though I was in daily contact with them during my trip. Nugget is my baby and I care for him so much. Although I appreciative of their attentiveness to the medication issue and ultimately offering a refunding the boarding (that I accepted), the one who really suffered was Nugget. I cant put a price on his health. Soon after the boarding he had loose stool (which I told the Ark about) and again stopped eating. I had to go back and forth with a new vet to treat the consequences of the negligence at The Ark. I use the word negligence as it wasnt malicious intent, and the staff does seem care for the animals, especially the doctor, however loving animals and providing high level of medical care and record keeping for them are not mutually inclusive.Long story short, about 2 weeks after his boarding and increasingly loose stool and lost appetite, and finding our new vet, we found that Nugget had contracted a parasite during his boarding. This is only contracted through dog or bunny fecal matter and I do not own nor have him come in contact with either. The only way he could have contracted this was during his boarding due to either unsanitary conditions, or mishandling of his food as the incubation period and timeline for the parasitic infection and symptoms lined up with his stay at The Ark (i.e. cleaning an infected animals kennel, not changing gloves/washing hands, then handling Nuggets food for one possibility). I asked about risk of illness this due to Nuggets weakened immune system prior, and she ensured me he would be fine even though they board other animals including dogs and cats. Again, staff did attend to the first boarding issue and said they were going to work on staff communication. I do not know if since May if things have improved. I did not choose to bring him back when he had issues post-boarding as the damage was done and I had to move on to continue care. I hope they improved because in case of an emergency if my treating vet is closed, I may have no choice but to bring Nugget back to The Ark. I just wanted to make sure that people are informed before bringing a sick or elderly animal for treatment and/or boarding here. Since his treatment for the parasite, Nugget made a speedy recovery due to the exceptional care at our new vet. I just wish he didnt have to go through all this as he could have been well in much less time without the stress of being at the vet so often and all the meds :(
I have the best experience ark animal hospital. The staff was super nice Andrea was very sympathetic KT was awesome Sobo did a great job with Jordan, and Shannon was the best. They took the time to explain everything from beginning to end on what was going to take place with my Yorkie. Ive experience some difficulty when I got him home but everytime I got them on the phone they they gave me their undivided attention. I would recommend you taking your pet there if you ever experienced a problem that needs a 911 this animal hospital will be the one to fix it !!
The ENTIRE staff is so amazing. They are so sweet to my little puppy Stella. Stella has a very sensitive stomach and was very sick this week. Cam called to check on Stella. Dr. Johnson made sure I had a good protocol to get Stella at 100%. I would recommend them surly.
I have used The Ark Animal Hospital twice, once about six months ago when my lab, Maya, was hit by a car and most recently when our kitten, Penelope, became ill. I have had animals my entire life and have made many trips to the vet, but Dr Johnson and her team are the best I have seen. Their moto Where Care and Caring Meet doesnt even begin to describe the love that they show for their furry patients.Mayas injuries required a stay in the hospital and several follow-up visits. She was well-cared for and pampered with lots of love, attention, and treats by the staff. After she was released from the hospital she was excited when she got to go back for her follow-up visits. We were not as fortunate with Penelope. Pen started having labored breathing and her health quickly deteriorated. An ultrasound detected a mass covering her heart, a congenital condition that was not treatable. The doctors explained the diagnosis and situation clearly and offered great compassion as we had to make a difficult decision. The Ark Animal Hospital is my vet of choice and I highly recommend them to anyone who has a furry family member.
From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave the staff is second to none. Courteous, helpful, they go out of their way to make you and your pet feel comfortable. Theyre upfront with their pricing, and the vet and techs are great at providing options available to the owner and work to achieve the wellness of your pet within your price range. Theyve got a returning client out of me for sure!
We dreaded searching for a new veterinarian after our current one retired. Our dog was in need of his annual vaccination. After some research and a couple of referrals we decided to try Ark Animal Hospital. The staff was very friendly and explained everything thoroughly. The whole experience was pretty quick and painless. Thank you
First impressions are key, and The Ark recruited me from the beginning - animal emergency turned customer for life. I take both of my dogs here and to The Arks grooming/boarding facility (Bark at the Ark). So impressed and SO happy to have people I can trust to care for my dogs like I do!
I am so thankful for Ark Animal Hospital! Thomas and Tara helped my morkie Bella and I with a tick removal today and they were amazing. Ive had Bella for almost 6 years and shes never had a tick so this was scary for me. I went to my animal hospital who Ive had pet insurance with for forever and they refused to help me because I got there three minutes after closing. I called Ark and Thomas helped me over the phone and was very calming and understanding. He asked for me to come in so they could take a look at Bella. When I got there I received a warm welcome and Thomas immediately called for Tara to help. She took Bella in the back and removed the tick and even brought her out to show me exactly where and what kind of tick it was. Both Tara and Thomas explained what kind of medication I can give and what to look for if this ever happens again. They were both very knowledgable. My point is even though it was just a tick (so my current insurance company said), they took care of Bella as if she was their own pet and I am so grateful for that. Thank you so much Tara, Thomas, and Ark Animal Hospital. You are truly amazing.
I went here today for a rather sad visit with my sick bearded dragon. This was the only vet I could find in Atlanta with Sunday hours that also cared for exotics. My visit was with Dr. Harris and the tech, Tara. Their compassion and kindness blew me away. Would recommend them to anyone!
Great staff and great facility! I was impressed with the professionalism of all the staff members, and I was touched by the compassion shown by everyone in that building as I dealt with my dogs declining health. In every interaction, they really made me feel like they cared for her well-being as much as I did.
Everyone at the Ark Animal Hospital was amazing when I took my cat in for a check-up. They really do care about their clients (the two-legged and four-legged equally). I was very impressed by their understanding that an animal is not just an animal, they are part of a persons family. I will definitely be returning to them again and again.
Dont waste your time or money at this place. Do yourself and your fur baby a favor and go elsewhere - literally anywhere else. We went to this facility several times before we decided that is was critical for us to get a second opinion on our cat and it was the best decision we made. I could write a novel about how many times we went into this office only to be sent away with less money in our pockets and more questions and concern running through our head. To sum it all up, we saw multiple vet techs here, all of which had a different idea of what was wrong with our cat - two saying nothing was wrong with him and one saying we needed a spinal tap because our 15mo cat had a spinal injury - but none of them were right. Luckily we didnt continue working with this vet, but they did clean us out about $2,000 in dead ends and guesses. We took our cat elsewhere and they immediately knew what the problem was and our cat is good as new thanks to them.If your animal has a cold, im sure they are fine. if your animal has a more serious issue - find a different vet.
Went to the Ark without an appointment and was accommodated and seen within 20 mins. Unfortunately my pup had to be hospitalized. The service we received was phenomenal! The drs called 2-3 times a day with updates and explanations. I couldnt be more happy with my experience at the Ark Animal hospital. Highly recommended!!
I recently moved from Chicago to the Atlanta area, and in the past I have always had poor vets that treated my guinea pigs. I came to this vet today because my guinea pig has had reoccurring UTIs and wanted a second opinion. The doctor I went to before this clinic gave my piggy an antibiotic and when they gave it to me it just didnt feel like something I was given before. I tried it anyway and nothing! My pig was still in so much pain and I took her to Arch clinic! They told me that the other doctor didnt get me any pain medication!! So they went and did that for Me and my pig is so much better! Thank you Dr. Johnson, the receptionist and Brian the technician for being so caring and accommodating for my baby! Im such a happy customer!!!
This place is awesome. Being a retired nurse, I prefer the regular staff. But, I brought my Honeibee in on weekend for her annual. But luck would have that she had a reaction and had to return at 9:00 p.m.. Dr.Golden and staff were awesome. This morning my babygirl is back to her regular self.
My 5 yr old Italian Greyhound, Peny, developed an anal gland abscess.I readily approved a very reasonably priced treatment plan made by Dr Johnson. There was likely the need for sedation for incision and drainage with flushing. As it turned out, sedation wasnt needed and the final charge was considerable reduced without that charge. I was struck be the ethical integrity of Dr Johnson and the Manager KT (Kyna Thomas). It is reassuring to know that the business ethic of The Ark is to NOT overcharge clients and to keep costs at a minimum without compromising the quality of care. Thank You Ark Hospital Staff!
AVOID THIS PLACE. Not even worthy of one star. Our 9 month old puppy started vomiting, having difficulty breathing, and was oddly drooling all over herself. My husband and I scooped her up and rushed her down the street to The Ark Animal Hospital because on their website it says they accept ER walk ins from 7pm-8pm. We pulled up and ran in. Keep in mind the large neon Open sign was on as well as their listed ER hours, and we were at the reception desk at exactly 7:26pm. We told the receptionist what was going on and she said well were closed the doctor already saw her last patient. Of course in a panic we asked to please see the doctor since she was still there. The receptionist said something along the lines of let me go talk to her. About 5 minutes go by and the doctor comes out and says I have a funeral to go to. Now if that were the truth wouldnt the receptionist have told us from the beginning? Since they were OPEN. Something along the lines of yes normally were still open but the doctor has somewhere she needs to be tonight. It was the most ridiculous thing we have ever witnessed, that the two of them came up with that story in the back. It was extremely obvious that the two of them were simply just ready to go home for the night.***Who can make eye contact with a puppy who is struggling to breathe and turn them away??? I truly believe and it is from my personal experience with Dr. Johnson that she does not have a passion for animals, let alone does she even care about animals. She appears to be in this field for the money- not because she has a passion for helping animals.**** Update: in reference to the reply from their office:1. Dr. Johnson never once saw my other (now deceased) dog, Mia. Mia went there over 2.5 years ago and saw a male veterinarian. Not Dr. Johnson.2. If you read other reply’s from the office to poor reviews you will notice a common theme. The office acts “confused” or blatantly lies to point the finger at you, the pet owner.
Just had the most amazing experience with Ark. My pooch is very scared of the vet and when we needed emergency care we were so lucky to have found Ark. The vet, tech, and staff were all so friendly and patient with getting to know my dog and having him trust them before treating him. - They even called a few days later to check on my furbaby :)
DO NOT GO HERE! This clinic only cares about making money. We were there from 8 pm to 1 am and they never finished a fecal test that was supposed to take 10 minutes. The entire focus was on other elective procedures that had nothing to do with the visit. I was there because my dog was scarfing down food and having intermittent diarrhea- during which I mentioned that behavior is rare because he will forgo eating occasionally. From that they decided that my dog might have a smaller opening to his stomach and wanted to do an x-ray with puppy version of contrast, then an ultrasound, and possibly surgery—which is insane when his weight and energy are perfect (even too much on the energy side). They were more interested in racking up fees than treating my dogs condition. They quoted over $1,200 in tests --not present in that estimate were fluids, after my dog had diarrhea for 5 days. After we left around 1 am and had to take my dog to his normal vet, they proceeded to call me at 7 am, 11 am, and the following day to schedule the elective procedures that I had already declined. They were aggressive and harassing about scheduling them and didnt ask how my dog was doing until the third call. This place is a complete racket and shouldnt be trusted. They never told me the final results of the fecal test and showed no concern for my dogs well-being. Who in their right mind would put a sick dog through sedation, an elective ultrasound and invasive surgery to widen the opening of his stomach?!? Who would even dream up that situation from a dog presenting with diarrhea, except someone desperate to make money.
The staff are amazing and they give awesome immediate care to the animals and take time to explain everything to us worried/terrified parents. I sincerely trust them with MelkyCabrera (my 13 year old Shitzu)! My only issue is the high costs and fees. But ultimately, because Ive been taking my beautiful Shitzu here for 2+ years, I will continue to do so despite the fees because I know Melky is getting the best care.
Excellent customer service!!! First of all, I was not there to get a pet treated. I was just looking for a graduation gift for a young lady that is going to college to become a veterinarian. The receptionist and staff were extremely helpful and patient as they helped me to select a beautiful gift from their retail area. The young lady was very, very happy with her gift. The staff also educated me on the issues of animals suffering with heartworms. Excellent service !!!
As a Business Owner, myself I pride myself on customer service and or experience. This review is about the customer experience not customer service. First visit was great, todays visit not so much. Receptionist very kind and pleasant. I had an appt scheduled for 930am, to have blood work they requested in order for my dog to get her teeth cleaned (they request you make two separate appts for teeth cleaning, which means you will pay twice as much as you have to pay for each visit). I arrived on time, but asked that someone please listen to her chest as I wasnt sure if there was cold in her chest due to the pollen or something else. I also asked for flea and heart worm prevention medication. The receptionist stated ok no problem. The Tech came out at about 945 to get my dog and take her back to get the blood drawn (original appt) she wasnt as pleasant as the other team members I have encountered...almost as if she really doesnt want to be there today. I asked if someone was going to listen to her chest while she was back there as well, and she looked at me as if I cursed her out, and she says very flippant so you want to see a doctor I said well I guess so, yes. She forcefully put my dog back down and was like oh well you have to wait for a room then. And walked away. I was immediately placed in a room at about 950am. At about 1015am a new tech (very pleasant) came in and stated they were going to take jazzy back to just get the blood work done, and it would take about 30-45 min to get the test done and results back...I stated is that including talking with the doctor she stated no. So at this point im confused....why couldnt the first tech go ahead and get the blood work (original appt) and then have me wait for the doctor after? She stated that she was unsure on actually when I would actually be able to see a doctor today, could be an hour...or even more. Its now about 1030 ONE hour after being there, and the blood work wasnt even done. And it was up in the air on when exactly today when I would actually see the doctor. I mean in my mind it could have been 12 noon, 3 pm 4 pm...I have no idea. I left needless to say, with nothing being done.I will not be going back. Really thought I might have found the animal hospital for us, but when it comes to my dog (which is like my child) I do not play about the care that they receive or the experience she may have there. Read other reviews and now I see what they are saying. In the future they may want to show a little more compassion to a client who just wasted an hour sitting there when the blood work could have been ran, and passed on to the doctor. But I assume they cant pass info onto the doctor in this office. They cancelled my appt while I was in there and considered me a walk in because I asked that someone listen to her chest for cold and can I get heartworm and flea medication. Moving me to the status of a walk in made me a low priority as if I had never called them in the first place. Ridiculous. On to the next vet.Called to get my records and spoke back with the receptionist I spoke of earlier and again she was very pleasant and apologized for the miscommunication or lack there of. Again this post was not about the customer service its 100% the experience. Which is HUGE to me.
I wouldn’t recommend their wellness plan. Nobody seems to know what’s covered vs not. Multiple instances of people telling me things were covered then was asked to pay on the way out. Tried to cancel and kept being told I had to talk to a manager who never called me back. I’ll have to dispute the credit card charge now. Nice people just a clunky system with lots of people not knowing what’s going on.
Dr Johnson is wonderful. Ask for only Dr. Johnson. Someone reported negativity about the ark when it comes to diabetes care and said the humane society of Atlanta was better. Unless something has changed the humane society of Atlanta doesnt treat k9 diabetes. When my baby was diagnosed in 2014 the humane society of Atlanta referred me to the ark. Wow. Its not the same place as when dr Johnson started it. Like most vets and human medical care providers is more about money than health now but ask for dr Johnson specifically. Hopefully dr Johnson will get rid of the doctors that are money hungry and hire more doctors like herself! Its not the same place as it was years ago but I know doctor Johnson loves my babies and she will get rid of the bad apples that only care about the bottom line.
Ive been taking my cat here since May and they are so great and helpful. Just this Saturday I brought my cat in for PU surgery and they were so helpful and they answered all my questions and were super patient. My cat doesnt hate going and all the staff are super friendly and welcoming to me and my fur baby.
I have been here a handful of times and am disappointed every time. Making an appointment is completely pointless- you will not see the actual vet for at least at hour after your scheduled appt time. I sat in the waiting room for 30 minutes with my distressed cat only to be taken into an exam room to wait another 30 minutes before getting up and walking out. Don’t waste your time here.
Of the three or four practices we have used since moving to Atlanta in 2006, our experience with Ark Animal Hospital has been easily the best. If you are in the Midtown, West Side area, and looking for a vet service, especially one with 24-hour service. Very friendly, and straight up about costs and recommendations.
This establishment was there for me in my time of need. My senior cat died this morning and even though the crematorium was closed on a Sunday. KT personally called the owner of Sacred Paws and had the owner Julie and she met us there. She opened up for us and handled my Morreens passing with love, kindness and compassion. Ark Animal Clinic went above and beyond to help me. With no profit to them. Just helping a fellow human out with loss. Thank you
It was one of the hardest & emotional experiences I have had. My cat Puck (literally the best cat of all time) of 14 years became sick with no recovery. He couldnt eat, couldnt stop vomiting and became so skinny. I couldnt let him suffer anymore so I took him to Ark. The doctor and her staff (love you Kyna) went above and beyond to make sure that every step going forward was in the best interest of Puck. We had to put him down to end his suffering. I needed Ark more than I knew - they helped me come to terms with pucks passing. Ark - THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!!!
They were awesome!!!! Everyone from the front desk to the manager to the doctors!!!! They were very helpful with my questions about my yorkie having pups. Very professional. Great, clean environment. I would definitely recommend them to anyone with a pet!!!! 5 stars from me, ebony, junior, and the little pups!!!!!!!!
My dog Loso was brought in to the Ark Animal hospital yesterday after being severely attacked by another dog. He has wounds in his neck and his intestines was exposed and hanging from his body. The staff here quickly sprang into action and Dr Johnson took excellent care of him. He had so much damage done to his intestines and internal bleeding but the Dr was able to ensure save him and although he has a lot of recovery ahead of him he was walking today just one day after his attack and surgery. Loso is like my child and I am so grateful to Ark and Dr Johnson for saving him. He is a tough little cookie and he was so very calm through out this ordeal. I thank Ark and the staff here for caring for him and for being so positive and helping me thru this ordeal. Cant wait to have Loso home in a day or so. I would Recommend Ark to anyone who wants Top Notch Care for their furry family member. Loso and I thank you
I come from 12 years of experience in the veterinary field. Im now in land scaping and found a squirrel that clearly was dying. I came into the clinic and was waiting for about 5 min. While the front desk girl was answering phones and another employee was eating watching her struggle with the phones. I was then told I had to fill out paper work and then there was a charge. Any other vet Ive worked at would have been more than happy to humanely euthanize the squirrel no questions asked!! So now I have to take the suffering squirrel to another vet. Absolutely, absurd and beyond ridiculous, just to get a few bucks!!!
First off I would like to say the customer service is awesome!!! I called in with questions regarding my turtle & the young lady who answered was nothing short of magnificent with how she handle all my questions. She was very patient, knowledgeable & helpful. Id recommend anyone looking for animal/reptile services to the Ark Animal Hospital without hesitation. Job well done Ms. KP‼️
My guinea pig was seen on 12/20/2018 by Dr. Johnson who is certified in exotic pets. She provided less than a professional standard duty of care and dismissed my guinea pig, Topangas abdominal mass as a possible tumor and recommended that I forgo an MRI, urine test, potential surgery, or any other diagnostics or procedures because it would be unnecessary, even though I requested further examination due to her recent unusual behaviors. Dr. Johnson also did not recommend speaking to a specialist. She did, however, attempt to joke about another client’s spending on their exotic pet, a squirrel which she had “conducted minor surgery on multiple times.” This interaction gave me the impression that Topanga’s condition was benign, and that she would eventually die from complications with the tumor, which there was little that could be done about; we were not given an idea of a timeframe in which that would occur. Within a day of the appointment, Topanga began showing more signs of distress and was refusing food and water from that point on and over the following days.We returned and met with Dr. Golden the morning of 12/24/2018 who gave Topanga various medication to last 5 days as well as an injection given at the office per a different diagnosis and multiple recommendations to see a specialist and visit an emergency clinic that had the ability to conduct a proper diagnostic examination. Topanga died 4 hours later, and we did not have the opportunity to administer the medication prescribed by Dr. Golden, nor could we see a specialist, etc. Because of Dr. Johnsons negligence in caring for Topanga during our initial visit, I will not return to the Ark Animal Hospital, nor will I ever recommend their services. Dr. Johnson should not be certified in exotics; she thought the tumor was located near Topangas liver, but Dr. Golden correctly diagnosed Topanga with bloat affecting her caecum and colon which are both located below her ribcage, nowhere remotely close to her liver. Any basic knowledge of guinea pig anatomy (which can even be accessed through an internet query) would have resulted in a correct diagnosis and Topanga would have been given a fair chance of survival. Dr. Johnson’s negligence is the proximate cause of Topanga’s death. This experience has led me to believe that the Ark Animal Hospital and other similar veterinary clinics should not legally be allowed to advertise a practice that can provide services to exotic pets when they lack the ability to correctly diagnose and treat exotics. It seems this type of business is only interested in charging their clients exorbitant amounts of money for artificial services.
Very courteous staff but pushes sales of medication at a ridiculously high markup. I’m a first time pet owner, so only research done afterwards showed me that I could obtain the same exact medication for 1/3 of the price from PetSmart (was charged 300% markup for Drontal and Revolution).Questionable medicine pushing aside, everyone was extremely kind and seemed like they were happy to be there!
Would not trust them for rabbit/exotics care. I was very dissatisfied with their care of my rabbit. They did not do a thorough exam - I had to request they take his weight and temperature and they never listened to his breathing with a stethoscope despite me having said I was worried he had a respiratory infection.
Picked my dog up from a sitter with a massive ear infection, and they wanted to charge me over $100 just to look at it. Then when I told them I couldnt afford that and asked for advice to soothe it until I could see a vet tomorrow they told me sorry no go, not unless you pay us. Clearly theyre more interested in money than helping animals.
First time here, 11:30 appointment, at 11:45 we still hadnt seen the vet. Stood in front of the receptionist for 3 minutes waiting to explain that we couldnt wait any longer but she ignored me while on a call so we left. No one called to apologize. The TV in the waiting room was so loud it was impossible to hear anything else.
This is NOT a hospital is a money maker facility I brought my cat at night after he got run by a car and they came up with a very nice estimate that was almost $1000 because they wanted to keep the cat all night and in the next day do the x-rays knowing that he got hit by a car a lot of crap talking about we are going to do this for your baby and bla bla bla so I told them that I want the x- rays now not tomorrow so they did it right away and then is a sad story so if you care for your pet better find a better place
I walked away after being one of the First ClientsAfter a bad experience with one of the vets, who basically called me a liar about how I gave medication to my dog and then demanded repeating exams, even though I had the dogs medical records, I decided the greed and push to screw the pet owners over for a profit was too much for me to patronize them anymore.

2022-01-31From the moment I called to make my appointment, the person was very pleasant and professional, asked all the right questions regarding my puppy Sydney. I arrived at my appointment on time they came out within five minutes. The tech gave a great summary of the visit, went over the pricing. I knew my baby was in the best hands. Then the doctor called me, with a great bill of healthy for Sydney. I would recommend The Ark!!

2022-07-07The Ark is the most caring and enjoyable veterinarian experience in Atlanta. The staff are a pleasure to work with and the facility is always tip top clean. They always take extraordinary care of my cats and are very professional. Everyone at the Ark has a high level of knowledge and expertise. Their pricing is very accommodating for a midtown budget and their service is worth every penny.

2021-12-21Take you pets to this vet hospital! I was referred here because my primary vet was scheduled out 3 weeks and I needed my dog seen. MINDY at the desk is WONDERFUL! Everyone here seems to care for and have a genuine interest in my pets health and quality of life. Costs are very reasonable and they even advised I shop Chewy for a more cost effective price on prescription meds for my pets. Everyone has been so friendly and seem to be passionate about their work. Highly recommend if you are looking for a vet.

2022-06-14Weve been bringing our two Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers here for the past year. While we have had a few concerns, weve been happy with the vet services. Today though, we decided its time to call it quits. They called to say our dog was ready for pickup and knew we were coming immediately. At 12:10 my husband arrived knowing and called the number they require the owners to call because waiting in the parking lot is the new policy. No one answered so he left a message and continued to call for 2 hours until finally someone answered the phone and brought our dog out! Waiting for 2 hours is absolutely unacceptable! The door is locked and there is no other option but calling! This policy needs some work! Just know, theres no guarantee that you can pick your animal up when you arrive, allow for that.

2022-06-06Never met the doctor because they are still doing curbside service. Had two appointments here and took twenty minutes both times for them to come out to get my dog. First appointment for a little rash on his paw took over an hour. Second took over two hours to run two tests on diarrhea. Both times they pushed a bunch of tests and seemingly excessive measures/medication - one time before they had even examined him or gotten him out of the car. Didn’t seem willing to start with a smaller course of action, then assess if needing to level up the treatment was necessary.

2021-12-07Our new kitty Jade had a pressing but non urgent issue that we wanted to address ASAP, and the Ark was able to fit us in on the same day we called!! The nurse we worked with, I believe her name was Tiara, was so sweet, good with the kitty, and really knew her stuff. Her and the doctor were helpful in getting us the right care for Jade, at a super affordable price. Definitely will be coming back.

2022-02-14I began boarding my dog at The Bark at the Ark last year and it was the best decision that I could have made all because of Orlando’s service. He is kind, caring, personable, and truly goes above and beyond in making sure that my dog had the best experience! His passion for pets is undeniable and his customer service is unparalleled!

2022-05-07We have taken our pets to this vet for years, under the new management the customer service has declined severely. The staff member just spoke so rudely to my husband that I felt inclined to call and speak with her… then she hung up on me. This is why after years of loyalty and patronage we are switching to a more professional and kind vet experience. In a world where customer service matters (and kindness is free) the staff member could use a bit of coaching, if she worked for me she wouldn’t have a job on Monday.

2022-03-03If you want transparency this is not the vet for you. I called to check prices on annual vaccines and they told me that they can’t quote them over the phone. They can only tell me that an office visit is $75 and how much a rabies shot is. And when I asked about the other vaccines they said they don’t give that information out until I arrive for the appointment. So just to be clear I have to drive all the way there a pay $75 to find out you could be charging two or three times the market rate. So that I have to pay another exam fee to go somewhere else it’s less expensive. Refusal to give up front pricing kind of makes you wonder what else they’re hiding from you. Makes you wonder if when they say your dog is sick and eat something if they’re actually being honest.

2022-07-19Teara (tee-air-uh) was very helpful. She was professional and thorough with her explanation/information. The facility appeared to be clean. The only thing I wished was having an actual review/document of how my dog did during her temperament test. I had to ask and was advised “she did good” but that was it. Wasn’t sure if she played with other dogs, just laid around, what. Overall, I’d recommend the facility.
