I was at this restaurant (with my son and daughter-in-law) on the night of 2/18/22 to eat. When we arrived, we stood at the front reception area for a few minutes before assuming we seat ourselves. Then we sat there for several minutes watching other patrons come and and be seated. A waitress went to the newly arrived group and provided them with menus. Then received their drink order. Then came back to receive their food order. Each time we attempted to wave the waitress over (the newly arrived group sat right across from us). Eventually, my son had to get up and go to the waitress for us to be served. What was more annoying is that there was no apology for the mistake. The waitress did not want to look me in the eye and when she came to see how everything was, she looked at and spoke to my daughter-in-law. My son and I are not white, and if I wanted to jump to conclusions, I could say this place must be racist or something. So it’s either that, or they just have horrible service. Neither of which is good. Either way, I will never go back there again.Note: I’m not saying they ARE racist. I am saying, it felt like it to me, and I could be way off base. Just being honest.
I would leave negative stars if possible. Probably the worst experience I have ever had. Service was ok but refills were hard to get. Waited two hours for our meal and of course it was cold. Once the meal came I had to get up to get our side sauces that were not brought.I didnt even eat my meal it was so cold. Manager took 20 minutes to come to the table all to give us a 10 dollar discount on 136 dollar tab. Also pretty sure the manager even stole the waitress tip, considering the Facebook review we saw.
I don’t even know where to start. We’ve never felt so disrespected in our lives. We’ve been coming to blue ridge close to 16 years and always try to support local but never again will we ever come to the establishment or recommend this restaurant. Memorial weekend can be crazy in Blue Ridge but on this day Blue Coyote was not that busy. We waited 15 mins at the door before even being acknowledged. Once seated we waited another 10 for a waitress to show up. We put in our drink order and food order consisting of 4 pops and 4 sandwiches. Another 15 mins pass we have to get up and find another server to ask about our drinks. By this time a large party came in and our “server” was catering to them and we no longer were a concern. Another 30-40 mins go by and again no one has said anything and this place had maybe 5 other patrons besides the large party. We kindly asked for our server just to ask how much longer and when I say this server snapped she literally SNAPPED!!! We never raised our voices we were just trying to ask how much longer and this server lost her mind and started screaming and yelling at us like we were dogs. Basically yelling at us we had two options sit there and wait for our food but she didn’t say how long or we can leave. So obviously after being disrespected and wasting almost 2 hours of our time we decided to leave. If I could place this place zero stars I would. Just writing this is very upsetting because we are very respectful people and understand waiting but again to be yelled at in front of other customers is uncalled for. I myself have served and bartended many years and would NEVER treat anyone like this server did.
Went here on a Monday night for our last dinner out on vacation because most other restaurants are closed on Mondays and I would have rather eaten a frozen pizza from Walmart. Burger was very large but had zero flavor and dry and my wifes food was inedible. Also, many workers and patrons smoking outside right next to no smoking signs. Will not go here again.
Busy and understaffed so the service is subpar but they try their best. Ordered the Georgian burger and it was the worst thing I’ve ever put in my mouth. Literally dry as the Sahara, almost choked. Wouldn’t order it again if I was on death row, just rather starve. Decent sports bar atmosphere but there better places to eat in downtown Blue Ridge.
The service was super poor here. They are not quick even when the restaurant is super slow. I would not recommend this place especially if you are in a hurry. The food was not the best and I could have gotten better food elsewhere. My husband ordered the wrap and said it tasted like an expensive lunchable.
Wrote down what we wanted as drinks and brought us entirely something else. Also it was just water and a lot of ice.We ordered wings and after a while came back and said they are out of wings.Suggested to us a drink and wasn’t will to explain what it was. We felt they didn’t want us to have food there so we payed for the drinks (which was not what we ordered) and left.
The only establishment open till midnight. We stopped on for some dinner and drinks. They were out of a few beer selections. The food was very good. We had wings and the loaded fries. The fries were amazingly delicious and the wings were cooked to perfection. Our server was Johnny on the Spot. He checked on is regularly and ensured we had everything we needed. 👍
Watched not 1, not 2, but 3 separate mice run on the floor and the ceiling vents. Our server was not only rude but obviously on some kind of drugs.. for a family of 4 it was by far the worst service experience weve all ever had. Food is great, but not worth wading through the trash to get it.
Great place to eat! Great food! Great staff! They work super hard and like most places are under staffed, I see some bad reviews I wouldn’t let that turn you away! You’ll definitely enjoy yourself, if any of these people know anything about food and beverage they would know that, a place 50% full is busy, not to mention to go orders, I’m just saying we get it! We were patient, our drinks were cold and when our food arrived, it was spectacular! I wish I could give y’all 10 stars!
Attempted to have lunch at this restaurant and it was a complete mess. I totally understand they are short staffed, however, after 20 minutes of waiting, we still couldnt even get a water. Stood at bar for another 10 minutes to get a water, but was completely ignored by the obviously irritated bar tender. Clearly should have paid more attention the the reviews on this place.
Extremely poor service. It says wait to be seated, and no one bothered to come up. We kindly asked someone after 10 minutes, she rolled her eyes at us and literally said to do whatever. We waited at our table for 45 minutes. One waitress came over in the middle of our wait to signal they were busy, meanwhile there were 4-5 tables that were not only served, but cleaned, and then new people were seated and served before us. The original server was so rude and overall so disorganized. Stay away.
They added 2 extra items we didnt order and charged me a gratuity for 2 people, and I left a 40% tip. The two waitress were as rude as they could be and sat a pitcher of beer down in front of a 12 yr old and at the wrong group of people. The cook was very nice and interduced her self to me and the food was excellent. I tried to call when I got home about the mistake but they wouldnt answer and voice mail was full. The new slender waitress was very nice and did a good job. This is why we stopped going and its happening all over again. I will keep trying to call and if they dont adjust the mistake I will call the credit card company. I called 3 more times spoke with The manager. He kept me on hold 15 minutes then hung up the phone. Called him back , advise of the over charges, he said he would pull the receipts and would call back the next day. He never called back, and Ive tried to resolve this with no resolution, so I have filed a claim with my credit card company.
When my wife and I walked in, what we saw was not exactly what we were expecting, first feel seriously is kind of dive bar, but we decided to give it a try and we are so glad we did. My wife and I both ordered the NY Strip steak, both of us expecting it to be average at best. What we received was absolutely the best NY Strips that we have ever had. They were very tender, seasoned to perfection and grilled exactly to order. The sides, brocolli and a rice pilaf, were done to perfection as well. The waitress, a very nice lady, told us that they cook everything when ordered so its not sitting around getting dried out which really showed especially on the sides. We got to speak with the owner, very nice gentleman as well, who told us that they had just recently added the steak option, so glad he did! Dont know that we will ever be in the area again, but if we should find ourselves here again, we will definitely stop in for another NY Strip.
Horrible service. We came to town for vacation and after traveling all day, decided to grab dinner at this restaurant. After waiting 45 mins for our food, it never came. A few tables sat down after us, ate their food and got their bill before we got our food. We left money on the table for our drinks and walked out.
This was our first time there and we walked in knowing they were sort staffed. The server was very nice and she kept on checking on us. It did take 1 hour and 15 minutes for us to get our food. The food is the only thing I am rating. It was about a 3. I got a Ruben and my wife got the wings. The Ruben was good tasting but very small. The wings were a bit tasteless but well cooked. The fries were good too. For the quality and amount of food I think the price was too high. For those two items and 3 chicken straps, we paid $41. It is an ok place but next time I would rather go some other place.
My wife & I went with some friends, who had been before and highly recommended it. We were not disappointed! I had the wings, and, while theyre not cheap, theyre also huge size. I split mine into three flavors, and, while one flavor was a little bland, the other two were fantastic. My wife had a sandwich, and it was also a good size and delicious. Our server was very nice and attentive. Its a little out of the way, but worth the trip. Next time were in Blue Ridge, were definitely going back.
Gave 2 stars because the food was good.....live band is good but the place is DEAD since changing owners. This was a Friday night! Sad to see since it was so awesome before. They also cut you off at 2 shots!!Update- found out why only 2 shots and then cut off for a while. They got caught serving alcohol to a under age child.I didnt read the other reviews when I wrote mine....looks like alot of people feel the same way about this dive bar.
Great priced drinks and friendly staff, however the bathrooms are WEIRD (see picture😂😂😂), the music was way too loud, and I had to leave after 2 rounds of drinks. Also sticky bar tops and menus which was a little grungy to be honest. place could use a good scrub down. Visiting from out of town i was craving a more level environment where i could listen to good music while being able to hear my wife speaking to me without screaming in my ear. They had cold beer though so gotta give em a clap and a wag of the finger at the same time. 3 stars!
Great place to get delicious food from a solid menu, or just to grab drinks. Whether youre looking for a full on sitdown lunch/dinner with a group or just want to grab some wings, everything tastes great and the service is fantastic. If youre just getting some drinks, the bartenders are great, and they know what theyre doing. Three TVs above the main bar, two TVs on the covered outdoor patio, and the staff is accommodating to most channel requests, so if youre trying to catch a game, this is a great place. Its got a great dive bar atmosphere and the people here are real down to earth folks. Live music most weekends, and karaoke during the week, on Tuesdays i think. I just moved to the area and Ive already found my favorite spot for a beer. If youve read this far just put the phone down and try it out.
I have been to Blue Coyote several times and the food and service were always great. I only have one complaint and the bartender Jermaine was the problem. We played some music on the touch tunes jukebox and when our songs (country) came on Jermaine turned down the volume. When his music was playing he turned it up. I now its petty but it aggravated me. As an employee he needs to learn that the customers are there to have a great dinning experience and not leave unhappy.
Good food. Medium prices. Cool atmosphere. Ask for Shay as your server! She has great personality, always smiling even though she was slammed with other customers, she kept checking back with us. We were there during the Ga Bulldog/ Auburn Tigers game, so it was busy! My wife and I will be back next time were in Blue Ridge! Oh, BTW, we beat Auburn! GO DAWGS!
We have a cabin in Blue Ridge yet we just discovered this place several weeks ago. The restaurant we were going to go visit had a long wait, so we luckily found Blue Coyote. I had the Swiss mushroom burger and my wife ordered the chicken wings. We both loved our food! Great sweet tea also.
Worst experience ever. Went for dinner, husband and I shared nachos and were going to share a burger it was supposed to be medium come out rare so we sent it back to have it cooked more, they sent it back out oozing with grease and the original bun it looked awful we sent it back and got our check upon paying the check we saw that they automatically charge a 18 percent gratuity for two people. Will never go back.
On a rare girls night out we found this place and decided to give it a try. I ordered the loaded fries for an appetizer and they were some of the best I’ve ever had! Highly recommend trying! The drinks were delicious! Service was good. The Reuben on Rye was very good, my only letdown was that it was skimpy on the dressing and sauerkraut. The appetizers are very generous portions. I’d go back again!
One of the few restaurants thats still open after 5 oclock in this town. In our experience, their kitchen is usually open until about 10. Ours great that it has a bar and all but, Blue Coyotes main advantage over its competition is the fact that its the only place besides Waffle House that has food later in the evening.Evidently the other local restaurateurs are trying to capture that early bird bingo demographic.
We arrived late on Sunday evening to watch football, have something to eat and a few beers. It took is and hour and a half to eat there. Idk why it took so long, they were not that busy. The service is soooo slow, the food is just okay. We only had nachos and 3 beers because we couldnt get waited on. The first 2 beers were flat. The nachos had very little chicken on them and no tomatoes. When we asked for our bill, the server brought us a tab for $67. 🤷♀️ we brought it to here attention and she took her time bringing is back a corrected bill for $27.
Our party of ten came in for dinner. Waited 10 minutes to be greeted by our server, another 15 to get our drinks. The restaurant was not busy during this time. Our server lacked any emotion and acted as if we were unwanted as soon as he walked up. We had to ask the bartender to get us silverware after waiting 10 minutes for him to return. Three of our meals were incorrect. We never got asked for refills and were handed pitchers of waters and cups to serve ourselves. He never checked on us after the food was brought out and never gave us boxes. Then when the checks were split up incorrectly he crumpled them up and got very rude.We were told we had to pay an 18% gratuity after the fact. The bartender then yelled at our group for complaining about our poor service. This was a terrible experience and very poor customer service. A majority of our group works in the service industry and understands the struggles but this was just pure laziness on the server’s part. He knew he would get money out of us regardless of his service and it showed.******* After reading all of the awful reviews I can tell that the owner just copy and pastes apology statements and doesn’t really care. So don’t waste your time writing a review. Just one star this place and go on with your day.*******
This was the second restaurant we went to because the first one wasnt our vibe, and I have to say that we made the right choice by coming to the Blue Coyote. They have wonderful food, live music, and a chill hole-in-the-wall atmosphere. Next time Im in Elijay, Im coming to the Blue Coyote. Burgers, mozzarella sticks, fried pickles--all killer. If youre unsure of what to try, you will not be disappointed.
If I could give 0 stars I would. It took nearly an hour and a half to get our food. Yes, we were a party of 4 adults and 7 kids. We ordered wings and sandwiches. I got the garlic parmigiana and mild wings and they were not on point. It was not even slightly busy and unless they only had one person in the kitchen cooking with only one hand there is no reason it should have taken as long as it did to get food. Also, the tip was included and we were not told this before hand. Because the tip was included the service was slack because they knew they were guaranteed 18%. DO NOT GO HERE THE STAFF AND FOOD ARE NOT WORTH IT
Last minute decision, excellent choice. Wait staff was quick to great and get drinks to the table. Checked to see if we were ready to order but didnt push. Food was served hot and the order was spot on. Excellent taste and presentation. Waitress followed up with additional drinks and presented the bill on request. Awesome afternoon dining experience. Dont pass it up.
Pretty terrible all in all. This place is auditioning for one of those kitchen rescues shows I think. Ordered takeout showed up when told to and was told they didn’t have chili for nachos. Someone should have called me they said. I said fine let’s change it to chicken. Ok that will be another 45 minutes for nachos wings and tater tots. It’s BAR FOOD. 30 minutes later I ask and everyone is confused about my order and guy from kitchen comes out. But then I’m handed bags. Get home and everything is ice cold like it had been done for a long time and of course no chicken on nachos. People were being told 1.5 hour wait for burgers! It was Tuesday night and they were at 50% capacity from what I could tell.
Went here while on vacation from Florida and the food was great! We tried five of their wing flavors and ALL of them were great! Also got me a Philly Cheesesteak, which was not as good as expected, but still satisfying and delicious when taking a bite with all ingredients in it. The fries were also some of the best Ive ever had - perfectly crisp and seasoned to perfection! Only gripe I have is the mixed drinks are pretty strong - stronger than I could really handle. To some this is a plus - at least theyre not jipping you of alcohol!
Had to find our server to get refills on teas and waited over a hour and half for food. The only burger that was ordered was so dry it was not ate. They was not super besy but still took forever. Was hoping that after they closed for 20 days and reopened it would have been better. Still the same old same old at this place.
After an enjoyable day tubing on the Toccoa River in Blue Ridge, it was unfortunately followed up by the most disappointing lunch at The Blue Coyote. The taste of the food was sub par (at best) and all in our party of 13 had the same assessment. From burgers to salads to chicken fingers (basic bar food), the taste and seasoning was consistently off. Not to mention it took nearly 90 minutes to be served our food. And the general cleanliness of the establishment leaves much to be desired. Honestly, its one of worst experiences Ive had at any restaurant in recent memory... so take heed and choose elsewhere when in Blue Ridge.
I had a semi good experience. The bartender Jermaine was very kind and knew a good bit about his liquor, but the downfall was that everything was extremely expensive. Me my fiance and my mother in law came here to have a good night out only to somehow rack up a $242 check. We may have drank a lot but dang that much worth I feel there was no way possible. Good atmosphere, pool tables. Certain days are wing nights karaoke nights one has live music. Seems like there are pretty chill people who come here but the only reason we would bond back would be because the bartender was nice and the pool tables thats it. Food was sub par.
We were seated immediately but waited 45 minutes to get our appetizer and 1 hour for our order. Our waiter that seated us never introduced himself but we only saw him when he needed to bring our food and water to the table. We get our order which is as follows a Philly cheesesteak no mushrooms and a burger well done. The cheesesteak had mushrooms all over it and the burger was medium. Still really pink in the middle. I give two star only because the mozzarella sticks were amazing!!!! That was the only thing my mouth tasted that had flavor.
It was our first time at this restaurant. To be honest we expected a lot better from reading the reviews before choosing this place. The atmosphere walking inside was very awkward. No one spoke to us, and we were confused wether we had to seat ourselves or not. We ordered fried pickles that was over seasoned and not all the way breaded. The bartender up stairs had the worst attitude too. I don’t think Ill be recommending this place.
First time visiting the Blue Coyote...great atmosphere and cold draft beer, they even had a live band. The margarita was sweet, didnt taste any tequila, but the loaded fries was very good and my husband had the Coyote Burger, he loved it. I dont remember our waitress name, but she was super sweet and very efficient. Whenever we are back in Blue Ridge, we definitely will come back.
Plenty of great choices of entrees makes it difficult to choose exactly what to order! We ordered spicy honey wings which comes with carrots and celery, your choice of dressing and fries it was delicious! A simple meal, that was perfectly presented with scrumptious appeal. Thanks to Megan for suggesting the fries to compliment the wings. There was a guitarist playing outside in the smoking area, but with the temperature hovering around 34 and not much heat from the fireplace so we opted to stay in!
I try not to write negative reviews but in this case it’s a must. If you are reading this, don’t waste your time at this restaurant. We basically had to seat ourselves, because after standing at the front hostess stand for 5 minutes no one acknowledged us, we then went to the bar area and waved down a waitress and asked if we could have a table, she answered “YEAH”. I must mention they WERE NOT busy, they did have guests in a few tables, but they WERE NOT completely full. We sat ourselves and asked another waitress who was cleaning a table behind us if we could sit there, she didn’t even look at us before saying “yeah”. We sat in our booth for a full 15 minutes, before we just decided to leave. No one came to the table to give us the menus or take a drink order. It makes sense why they have such bad reviews. What a shame, this is the only negative experience we’ve had while visiting Blue Ridge.
The Cheesesticks were the best weve ever had. The wings were great. My dad liked the Philly Cheese steak. My brother and sister enjoyed the chicken fingers. But Beware of the Chicken Tacos. They are terrible. They were 90% Cumin which was way too much. The chicken in it was ground up and mushy as well. It ended up making mom feel sick. Overall we had a good experience, but I wanted to warn other customers about that One particularly bad item.
Our order consisted of a hamburger, grilled shrimp, and chicken wings, the person in our party that had the hamburger said it was pretty tasty. but myself and the person that ordered the shrimp were very disappointed. Very little flavor in the shrimp and the chicken wings were very dry and tasteless. Probably will try it again. One plus was the waitress was very friendly and the music was good. Too bad the food wasnt.
This place was very cool.I will start with the WINGS, they were bomb and on point. The Cocktails and beers they offer are very good and you have a wide selection, specially the brewed ones. The place has a classic U.S bar 70s theme which i found very unique and pleasant. The GIRLS offer great amazing service. There was this African American waiter that was kind of rude and not nice, kept giving us bad faces for some reason. Also the bathrooms smelled bad and were a little bit dirty. They charge a $5 cover on fridays but there is LIVE MUSIC, so is worth it for me.My friends and i were visiting from Miami and as latinos we really enjoy the blue ridge experience at this place.I would definitely recommend to visit the blue coyote!HAVE FUN ❤✌
The atmosphere is great, the service is great (once you get there attention)! Get there before the music starts and you wont have to pay the cover. But the live music is so so so loud! Im not an old fogie at all and Ive spent most of my adult life in dive bars but this is beyond abnormally loud! Can not talk at all with out screaming, unless you sit outside! Such a disappointment. But that is the only reason I dont give it five star for a dive bar! Everything else is stellar! And lastly... they dont care about making you feel welcome so just go in (past the wait here sign), sit down and get their attention!
Stopped into the blue coyote while driving around TN and GA and it was awesome. They make their own mozzarella sticks - def recommend! We also ordered the fried chicken tenders and some wings and was very delicious. Our waitress was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed! If you’re looking some some small town bar food this is the place you need to go to!
My family and I came to the Blue Coyote today, and unfortunately it was very disappointing. We were eager to enjoy a drink and some good eats but instead were met with poor service and cold food. Thankfully, a kind bartender refilled our drinks because our server Ashley never returned to the table. Upon receiving our bill, we were charged for food we never received and Ashley told us she did not have the time to correct it. After asking for a manager to correct our bill, Ashley told us that the manager was her husband and would not be coming to assist us, and this was immediately followed by an automatic gratuity added to a new bill after Ashley was aware we were unhappy.
This place needs some serious help. We ordered sweet tea and it tasted like they poured sugar in the unsweet tea to make up for not having any. Also we waited over an hour for food that never arrived. When asked for a status, they advised that they haven’t even started it yet that is when we left.
This restaurant is the perfect place to ruin your entire day! I could actually go on for days about the almost comical service and environment, but it’s not even worth typing. We waited two hours for inedible food, half of which was substituted out because the kitchen was out of it (including fries). Saturday Night Live could not write a funnier skit than the dinner I just experienced. When presented the $100 bill, we asked for a discount. After an argument, we asked to split the bill. We were told that “typically if you want to have separate checks at a restaurant, you have to ask beforehand.” I can whole-heartedly say that I would go back in time to the Vietnam war and be drafted than step back into Blue Coyote. Not to mention, there was a man standing on the booth behind us painting over the artwork on the wall, reaching over top of our table with A PAINTBRUSH. I can not make this up and neither could any single person writing a comedic sketch. I was honestly expecting Ashton Kutcher to jump out an any given moment. I am all for giving the benefit of the doubt, which is why we stayed, but there is no excuse for this.
Food is hit or miss when we come here, but usually good. As for the service it is terrible every time we come here. We wait 15-20 just to be waited on, drinks takes forever, etc. etc. and I’m a waitress, so I would be understanding if it were a busy night, but our waitress had two tables and we still waited forever on everything we ordered and she was rude to be quite frank. This is unfortunately, not the first time, or the second, or third time this has happened at the blue coyote to us. And I know the owner will comment saying that he will talk with the team, but no changes are ever actually made. We still come here out of loyalty, and for the good environment. This bar needs a lot of work and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to an out of towner.
Its definitely more a bar seen. Loud music, even louder people. Great if youre looking for that party hard country bar scene. Service was a little slow but to be expected when they gotta make their way to you thru a crowd of people having a good ol time. Clean and the wings were delicious 🤤
We were visiting for the weekend with a few couples. Us girls went out on saturday looking for a good time and a few drinks, WE HAD A BLAST HERE. The drinks the bartender made us were amazing, she was awesome! I wished i remembered her name. All I know is she is blonde headed and really pretty and nice! She also made us all three a glass of water before we left without us asking! Will definetly go back!! (ALSO NACHOS ARE THE BOMB)
My husband and I were in town for our combo birthdays and dating anniversary and checked out The Blue Coyote. This turned into trying them 3 days in a row! Great service, pool,TouchTunes, delicious food, plus a live band will definitely bring us back in the future! By the third day we felt like family 💖 Im a chef in Atlanta and this was a quick vacation spot that was needed!
Welcoming staff and priced right. Located in downtown Blue Ridge but priced for local patrons. I went on Taco Tuesday so I tried the chicken tacos and they were good. Spacious inside with room a the bar, high top tables and a few booths plus a couple outdoor tables as well.
My family attended The Blue Ridge Railway Christmas ride today. Looking for a bite to eat after, we enter The Blue Coyote. As I am reading the previous reviews, there seems to be a common theme.. after waiting 13 minutes in a booth with no service or greeting, we gather our things to leave. Just before deciding to get up, our waitress shows with the most uncomfortable approach. There’s no other way to describe her demeanor other than she looked extremely high. She told us she would be back to take our drink order. As we begin to look at the menu, my 4 year old son pulls apart two menus that are stuck together with old sticky food. We decided this was not the place for us. After 20 minutes was wasted, we got up to leave. Note: the entire time we were sitting in a booth just feet from the bar. We had several waitstaff and bar tenders look at our table. No greeting, no, “We’ll be right with ya!” Just blank stares. We made our way to a restaurant called Southern Charm. Way better customer service.
The staff was friendly and the drinks were fine but absolutely zero Covid precautions made. No masks by anyone, no social distancing. I immediately regretted walking in but since we had to pay a cover charge for live music to get in, we felt we needed to at least have a drink. We sat for 45 min and listened to the band set up and warm up but never actually play. Disappointed.
Amazing service, bar tenders really know what they are doing and get to you quickly. The servers are extremely polite and helpful. The kitchen always presents delicious clean food. The atmosphere is very upbeat and makes it easy to have a good night if youre just eating or getting a few drinks and dancing. A must stop if youre cruising the Blue Ridge night life.
After visiting The Blue Coyote this evening my family and I were very disappointed. Our food service was slow and our food was cold upon arrival. We had to go to the bartender directly for any drinks including water refills. After receiving the bill with several incorrect billings the bill returned with a 18% gratuity added as well as being told that she, Ashley didnt have time to fix the bill of an item that should not have been charged as extra. Ashley our server said she was the wife of the manager when we asked to speak to the manager and that he was not there or available. When asked about the 18% I was told that it was simply a known thing around here with parties with 5 or more. With 4 of our party being in the Atlanta high end food service industry the service quality just doesnt add up here. I would not recommend this place anytime soon for people looking for a good quality food or sevice experience.
My husband and I visited blue ridge for our anniversary, we came into town and found this cute little bar/restaurant to go in and have a beer and lunch! We waited twenty minutes for someone to come serve us just for the bartender to yell “have y’all been helped or not”Mind you my husband and I are a biracial couple and three other couples of the same race were served before us...The food was decent, I ordered a chicken wrap just for my food to come out in small taco shells and then tell me they were out of the regular wraps..
I gave them one star because theres not an option to give them less.....I have never had such horrible service or waited as long as we did for expensive food that was okay. There were only two tables of people in the place including ours. The waitress was horrible. It took an hour to get our food. My husband and son both ordered buffalo chicken and never got their ranch even though we asked twice. Then the waitress added an 18% gratuity to our bill as well as a beer that we never received. My husband asked for the 18% gratuity to be removed and was told they add that if your party has 6 or more, we had 4 in our party.....After getting those two items taken off the bill we finally paid and got out of there. Would not recommend!! I cant believe they are still in business if thats the way customers are treated daily.
We were seated and waited 30 min. before being told it would be an hour and half before our food came out. Waitress was non professional. Hanging on men at bar and ignoring our table . Go somewhere else. Worst service I have ever experienced. I would give it negative stars if possible
My family and I stopped here very excited to eat and be in good company; instead we waited approximately 10 minutes for any of the workers to notice that we needed to be sat, had to wait longer to even be greeted by our server Ashley, and felt as if we were helping her do her own job. Thankfully, the bartender assisted us in keeping our drinks refilled as needed since Ashley would disappear for almost the entirety of our visit. Once our food came out, all of it was cold, incorrect, or missing. My friend ordered a side Caesar salad and had to remind Ashley multiple times that he still had not received his food and once he’d received it, we were all finished eating. After receiving the bill, we noticed that we’d been charged for items that we did not ask for or never received. When we brought this to Ashley’s attention, she claimed that “she simply did not have the time to correct the bill”. Ashley then came back with a new bill with a gratuity added that was not added prior to us getting the bill the first time and stated “it was just common knowledge for folks around here to auto-grat the bill, so we must not be from here.” which felt highly inappropriate to say to a guest of any sorts, from Blue Ridge or not. After asking for a manager to simply help correct the bill since Ashley was so busy, she stated “that the manager is her husband and he wouldn’t be coming to help as he was not present.” As a service worker, I’d never make any guest feel the way Ashley did towards my family and friends and would NEVER recommend the Blue Coyote to anyone as a guest to Blue Ridge or a local.
Walked in server was sitting with some customers. She told us to sit anywhere we sat outside on the patio. After around 15 minutes of not seeing anyone who worked there we decided to go inside. We sat at a booth after about 15 more minutes the only server we saw got up from the table she had been sitting at when we first walked in and came over and gave us a menu. Prices seemed to be ok for the area. We ordered a couple drinks a beer and a mixed drink both came out about 10 minutes later in small clear solo cups. We ordered cheese sticks and decided we wouldn’t order food the vibes in there weren’t what we expected from a bar & grill. Cheese sticks were good but $10 for 4 seemed a little much and my $8 drink had little to no alcohol in it. We planned on staying a while and having a few drinks was looking for a good time, but decided to leave after an hour of disappointments. It has potential to be a great place the restaurant itself was nice. The server and bartender seemed shady and like they were there for anything except for work. Pretty shady place we will not go back and definitely will tell anyone we know not to waste their time.
We usually have a good experience but today was a little disappointing. We usually get a large fry but realized that the prices had exploded!! Got them anyhow and there were less fries that before and the tasted funny.. Like some were freezer burned... Definitely not worth the $8 they cost. The wings were good and the service was friendly.
Food was good. Beer was cold. The game was on. Waitress was very nice, personable, attentive.Food came out slowly and it seemed understaffed for the traffic, time of day, and holiday weekend.Overall very relaxed and our waitress was a trooper given being short staffed. We will still be back every time we are in blue ridge!
Terrible service. Food took over 45 minutes to come out after we ordered. Waitress was rude and did not refill drinks unless asked. Food was very sub par. Took 15 minutes to get our checks after we asked for them. We had a party of 6 and they included 18% gratuity on the bill. Will not return.
Have to say that for a late night it was good food lots of people had a really good time they had karaoke there that night and my sister sang her heart out and it was amazing but I guess I am getting older because most of that karaoke was pretty funny and loud, but everyone was really enjoying it lol
Cool atmosphere and awesome food make for a top notch dining experience. We started off with the nachos and cheese sticks, the homemade queso on the nachos was out of this world and those cheese sticks AMAZING! Ive had my share of awesome cheese sticks over the years and these deserve a spot on the top of my list the marinara was perfect. I ordered the hot wings which were also amazing. The homemade blue cheese dip was the best Ive ever had. My girlfriend got the philly sandwich and absolutely loved it. I was lucky enough to get her leftovers and hafta agree with her. Service was excellent and all the patrons seemed to be having a great time. I highly recommend checking out the Blue Coyote, you wont be disappointed!
Arrived at 1230p on a Sunday with a party of 10 and was told they dont open till 1p. Waitress was quick to the table, but everything was noticably slower after that. Placed our appetizer and entree order around 115p, didnt receive any food until shortly after 2p, and the appetizers and entrees all came out at the same time. Food quality was fair at best. After receiving my correct check, I was charged double the price on my credit card receipt. That was promptly refunded and I was not charged for the meal. Overall a disappointing experience, but the waitress acknowledged this and the bill reflected that appropriately. Maybe just a bad day in the kitchen?
We came here for spring break and decided to get something to eat a blue coyote and the food was definitely not worth the wait. We waited a pretty good period of time. I do not recommend coming here The food and the wait wasn’t worth it. The service was decent but overall it was not good at all.
Ordered food via ridgeway food rubber delivery service: Order notes asked for condiments and none of the condiments were brought leaving us with dry sandwiches which were not completely eaten. The meal was cold, The eggs were overcooked, fries were moist and toppings weren’t given either. Complete waste of money.
This is my first time making a review ever; however, felt very compelled to make a review after walking out the door. To say the least, a horrible experience! Took over 1 hour and forty minutes to get food with one other table in the entire establishment. Additionally, that one table got there after our table sat. Waitress came back to the table a total of 1 times during the entire wait. Looking at previous reviews, this place changed ownership and the service went down bigtime. The owner has apologized numerous times saying he would make things right but obviously that has not happened. When food final got there it was subpar at best. My wife had to send hers back as the chicken tenders were like blocks of cement. We tried several other places prior to going in this place and they all had an hour plus weight and there was no wait here so its ultimately out fault for not seeing the writing on the wall. They did take 20% off the final bill but added 18% gratuity. Not the waitresses fault at all. Clearly a lack of management and ownership, stay away from this place.
First time visiting Blue Ridge (from South Florida) and this restaurant was great! We went a few times! Mozzarella sticks are huge and the best we ever had! Wednesday was 1/2 price wings and we enjoyed them. Live music! (Gabe’s music is awesome) Outdoor seating with a fire burning! Definitely would recommend this place!
My husband and I came in last night for a few late night drinks. At first the bartender was pretty rude and short with us. We got our drinks and started talking to the guy next to us, who turned out to be the manager. He was extremely friendly and chatted with us all night, until close. After a while of talking with him, the bartender lightened up and started being friendly as well. They encouraged us to come back and eat and talked about the change for the better in ownership and management.Since we are on vacation we had a very long day today doing some site seeing and hiking and didnt get back to our cabin until late. We attempted to eat at several other restaurants in the area with no luck, so decided to go back here to give their food a try. We sat at a booth and expected to get table service as it appeared others tables were. After about 10 minutes with no service my husband went to the bar to get menus and drinks. It took a while, but they were busy, so totally understandable. After, another 20 minutes or so we still had no one greet us or even acknowledge us, even though several servers passed by on numerous occasions. They avoided eye contact and looked away if we tried to get their attention. I finally gave up and went back to the bar to wait another 5 minutes or so for the bartender to never even look up and acknowledge me. I was finally able to stop a server as she was walking to the bar and ask if I could order food with her, which she agreed. She took me over to the server station and took my order there. After another 10 minutes she came to our table and explained that the kitchen had closed 10 minutes earlier. I explained that we had been trying to order for over 30 minutes and everyone had been ignoring us and she just blankly stared at me like she didnt understand English. I realized I was getting no where with her and we decided to leave to try and find other food as we were completely starving at this point. We went to the bar to pay for our drinks and waited at least another 10 minutes for the bartender to decide to help us, this was after she walked away from the bar for a few minutes.May be an okay place to drink and hang out and maybe their food is actually good if you get a chance to try it but they obviously need more competent servers and more staff. The change in ownership and management does not appear to be for the best.
Worst wait time for food ever especially since it was a Tuesday night. We waited over an hour for food and more than that if you add wait time to order. I guess they had one waiter. We sat outside with our dogs who got anxious since it was so long . Food was decent but not worth the wait. It’s basically just a bar there were not that many at tables. One table ordered right before us and got their food and finished eating. No apologies for our long wait.
Food took way too long to arrive. We literally waited 30 minutes for an appetizer and another 30 minutes after that for our entrees. Food tasted great and the service was friendly. But everything just took way too long! Whats worse is they didnt seem to understand why we were getting impatient. I would recommend this place if youre looking to drink and hang out for a long time.
Only giving a one star because there is no way to give it no stars. The waitress was friendly, but was not visible when needed, plus we were not informed for a long period while our order was taking so long, the place was not very busy. What really made it bad, we had a child with us, finally ask if they could get her food out, after another long wait, the waitress brought out the corn dog and fries, the fries were overcooked and the corn dog was so burnt on the inside and outside and this was brought out to a child, plus still no sign of our order. There was no apology for the burnt food or the wait time. By far the worse service I have ever seen in a restaurant.
$5 for 21 and up are you kidding? You want us to pay to a cover charge even though we are the ones who will be spending more do to drinking alcohol. 🤔 I love the dog friendly but we are patio bound and still have to pay a cove without being about to truly enjoy the band you are asking us to pay for? Consider a better greater.... She was just plain rude and unpleasant.
If we could give 0 stars we would. Went in and sat down and it was very dead, only a couple tables taken up and then people at the bar. Took about 10 minutes just to even get a waitress over there and once she took our food and drink order, that was the last we saw of her for 40 minutes. We FINALLY got our waters after the 40 minutes by another waiter and once our original waiter came out, we asked how long our food we be and she told us that the cook had not even started to cook it. Needless to say we got up right then and left. Terrible service with no apology.
Worst waitress I believe I have ever had anywhere. unfriendly, slow, VERY inattentive. Took over 50 minutes to get food, there were only 4 other tables with people! Fat guy took his shirt off, gross! I was so embarrassed for my date! only drunks at the bar were being attended to! Stay away! this place seems to be just a local sleazy dive! Only good thing was the live band was very good...even the band could do much better somewhere else!
They burnt my daughters corn dog and instead of correcting it, they just brought it to the table hidden under the fries. If you cant even cook a corn dog without burning it, then how do expect to cook anything else properly. The cook should be fired for sending something so far under quality out to a customer. Out of all the restaurants, we chose to try the blue coyote and fully regret that we did. After seeing something as simple as a corn dog messed up, we didnt even want to wait for our food. I WOULD NOT RECCOMEND AT ALL. Kitchen staff needs a big time overhaul. My advice is pick another place to eat. Id prefer McDonalds over this place and thats sad to say.
We went yesterday afternoon for drinks and today for dinner. Service was great in the afternoon. Very pleasant waitress. This evening there were very few people there. Terrible service . Had to go inside to get a menu. Food was good. Also had to go inside and chase down waitress to pay bill. No apology.
My family came out to eat here during our vacation. When we walked in we were a bit underwhelmed with the atmosphere (very basic and boring) but we were at least excited to see very few guests inside (no more than 15 people total). We hoped wed be able to get a quick lunch and continue with our day. We ended up ordering two burgers, a caesar wrap, the BBQ pulled pork sandwich and two kids plates. We also ordered the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. We proceeded to wait for over 45 mins before even our appetizer was served. When the mozzarella sticks arrived, they were good but only consisted of four massive sticks. While the taste was good, we would have preferred the four massive sticks had been made into more smaller sized mozzarella sticks to make for easier sharing amongst us. In addition, the tremendous amount of cheese inside each stick made eating them a laborious process of chewing for an eternity before you could swallow. Again, taste was good, but overall it left us wanting. Our food finally arrived after at least an hour since our arrival. We were immediately disappointed to find that every single dish was a complete disaster. The burgers had obviously been finished a long time before the other meals and had sat underneath the hot plate, drying out the edges. Every single piece of bread in our meals was stale. Not toasted, but literally stale bread. The BBQ pork sandwich was the most disappointing of it all. It was lukewarm (obviously microwaved), literally looked like someone had taken an ice cream scoop through a container and just plopped it half on the bread and half off. There was hardly any meat and was swimming in sauce. On top of that, every single dish was served in a basket with wax paper and frozen crinkle fries. I could literally go to the store and pick out the exact brand of frozen premade fries they used. With the exception of the burgers, everything else served to us was obviously either frozen or microwaved before being served. If this was a cheap eatery, I wouldnt complain as much, but the BBQ pork sandwich on its own cost $14! We ended up feeding our children some of the food as they were starving but the rest of us ended up sending our dishes back and leaving without eating lunch. The server apologized and we made sure to leave her a nice tip as the issues had absolutely nothing to do with her. She told us there was only one cook working in the kitchen. Even so, I could understand a single cook taking a long time if he was serving quality food, but this was an almost empty dining room and obviously low quality food.Hopefully, our experience is a fluke and not a common occurrence, but other reviews Ive read seem to indicate this is the norm.Honestly? This place needs to be featured on the next episode of Gordon Ramseys Kitchen Nightmares.
Thank you for offering dog friendly dining! We arrived right as they opened for the day, so we were patient with delays in service. Food was good, would like to see more vegetarian options. Service was ok, but there seemed to be a lot going on with opening, a musician setting up for the day, etc. Well be back on our next trip!
We must have gone on an off night. They were out of everything and kept coming back after we ordered to let us know. We finally went with the only thing left: burgers. The burgers were raw. The service is the only reason Im giving stars. Our waitress was a bartender who was covering, she was super sweet.
I do NOT recommend the Philly cheese steak. Apparently they do not sell many of them because the role was stale. I ordered the $2 draft. The first one was good and cold. The second one was served in a warm glass which brought up the temperature of the beer. Cold beer is great! Lukewarm Busch beer is like....
Sat at bar. Plenty of room. Was greeted immediately but apparently since we weren’t locals we didn’t deserve service. The bartender served those around us even spoke over us to two new arrivals asking them if they wanted their usual. After watching her cater to everyone else but us we left and went to Fightingtown Tavern. Night and day difference!!! Will not be back!
Nice bartender, the gyro was good, nice atmosphere. That tidbit was from a year ago! Ordered the same thing, gyro, and was uneatable! Burnt meat, not even the right sauce, terrible pita. Would not eat it. Also bartender was not great today, made a cell call before getting my beer, left for cig break, kinda gruff, but did take the gyro off bill. Idk. Usually a good place, but my first Monday visit. Usually here tues-thurs.
Took over an hour to get food waitress hollered across resteraunt was on cordless phone whole time we were there food came out cold waitress stayed behind bar on the phone whole time we were there. Looked like she would have preferred to be elsewhere, bored out of her mind, we ate the food only because we had been there for so long.... Only one yes one other person in there but took over an hour to get our food then it was apparent it had been sitting there as it was minimally warm...... Tater tots and fries were cold
Perfect name for the place. An ordernary pub. Did not eat so cant say anything about the food. They where generous with the amount of wine but the taste experience was not anything to come back for.Last nights band with young guys playing live music made the night. Good music and great voices.
Don’t come here if you want to have a good time. My husband and I came in, Friat night out in ages, ordered app & dinner and then got cut off after two shots, saying we had to much to drink. Um, no offense but the shots are watered down and over priced. We weren’t even buzzed and were told we can’t order anymore drinks after paying a cover for the night. Absolutely insane. It was dead anyways on a Friday night. But the bad was great!
We were two of six patrons, ordered two sandwiches, took over 30 minutes. Asked waiter Mathew, to see manager, he said he was on the way. He never came. There was no beer list and waiter didnt have a clue about beer and blamed the kitchen for the wait. Sandwiches were mediocre at best, when they finally arrived. The waiter had no apology for the service, and the manager didnt want to hear about it. It seems The Last Stop, is an appropriate name for this place
Poor service! Waited over 30 minutes to be served. My daughter had to walk up to the bar to get our drinks and ask for table service. By the time we finished our drinks the waitress finally came to us to take our food order. We order and waited and waited. All our drinks were empty.... anyways we ended up talking our food to go because they didn’t have the NFL game playing. It was a horrible experience.
I am a Chicken Wing lover and I have to say that I have gotten both the lemon pepper wings and the hot wings and both are excellent. So many other wing places give you big fatty and tasteless wings. I ate at a major franchise in Pooler, Ga. last month and they were horrible.Wednesday 1/2 off the wings is a fantastic deal. I wish for people who do have to use take out to go back to our offices, they would honor the half off or charge a tip fee so, that they would honor the 1/2 off but, this is an excellent place to go and I recommend The Whistle Stop to all my clients.
Awesome place in Blue Ridge for live music and a good bite to eat. *Check the dates online for live music nights. We have brought our children there in the day ages 3 and 4 but do NOT recommend it for small children at night due to noise level and smoke from outdoors coming in.

2022-01-04Went in New Years Day, staff had not shown up and one person was working. He explained that the service would be slow but we were not in a hurry. We got a couple of beer, placed our order, and he made it happen. Not only was I impressed by his ability to handle the place alone but his service was impeccable. Fun atmosphere, the food was cooked as requested and they have a huge selection of draft beer.

2022-03-05Enjoyed the band. Drink menu was nice. Wait staff was more than accommodating. Great atmosphere. Unfortunately some of the locals are VERY anti LGBTQ and we were made VERY aware of that. BUT we did meet some amazing locals as well. So I suppose it levels out. Cool spot to grab a drink and enjoy live music 🎶.

2022-02-12Firstly, they are short staffed but I have come to expect this with most restaurants post covid. So why did I still give them 5 ⭐s? The staffs attitude remained pleasantly positive and helpful despite the fact that there were only 2 waitresses and 1 bartender. The live performance from Thomas Hinds was also the best that Ive heard at a small local bar in a long time. I cant vouch for the food but service was above what I would have expected.

2022-01-05It’s been quite some time I’ve ate at a restaurant this bad. I get that service is slow everywhere because of the lack of waitstaff but this was an all time low. It took over an hour from the time we were seated til (most) of us were served lukewarm food. “Mozzarella” sticks were warm at best and tasted like microwaved white American cheese wrapped in burned bread crumbs. After 30+ min about half of our food came out. Burgers were over cooked, half of my chicken wings had no hot sauce on them. The other half seems like it was just placed in a basket of sauce and not actually on the wings. With a party of 12 you would think they would have asked to bring out our food as it was ready so we could have had our food hot.I’m also unsure of why I received a blue margarita. I’ve had plenty of margaritas in my day, never one that was blue. It was tasty but not the classic recipe I was expecting. As we were leaving the bar tender who was clearing off our table asked how it was and I said “it was alright”. She asked why just alright. I mentioned our cheese sticks tasting like greasy warm American cheese and aggressively defended her “fresh cut off the block mozzarella cheese.” 6 of the 12 of us had a bit of these cheese sticks. we all questioned what kind of cheese this was.Wendy’s is right up the street, go there. At least they know what kind of cheese they are serving.

2022-04-15Awesome food! Weve tried the wings (twice), loaded tots (My favorite), fried pickles, and mozzarella sticks. Of course we had done cold beer with it. Loved it! Have been there three times in two days. Love that theyre open when everyone else seems to be closed.

2022-05-30I was waiting on the review to come below. I was at the restaurant when this incident occurred I was actually at one of the tables over. Yes, there was a confrontation but it was not due to the servers fault. First let me start by saying I 100% believe in customer service but I also believe in kindness! The server was extremely busy. She not only had them as a table but had a huge table of maybe 15-20 people and also had multiple other tables she was handling. The table was unhappy that the server was unable to tend to them the way they wanted. They did have another server who was running around assisting them. That server brought them their drinks and let them know what was going on. Their food had already been put in 30-40min prior but they weren’t happy that they saw their server at the large table. When the server came over to ask what was the problem they demanded their food. The server told them their food wasn’t ready yet. That didn’t matter. They wanted their food because they thought she was getting the large tables food. I overheard the argument and the server told them the large table was not even getting food at that point. They didn’t care. She asked them what could another server do for them that she couldn’t and they responded bring us our food. She said it’s not ready yet SO you can either continue waiting for the food or you’re more than welcome to leave. It really was as simple as that. And to say the restaurant wasn’t busy is just simply not true. The restaurant was packed. Inside and out. I usually do not input my opinion on these things but I saw this coming a mile away. It’s easy to get on here and make false claims to persuade people but it’s just absolutely not true. I feel terrible for the server but I applaud her for standing up for herself. The customer is not always right. A little bit of patience and kindness would have went a long way! I saw this server doing laps around this restaurant trying to appease everyone! So let me leave a positive review for her because she deserves it! I definitely recommend trying the blue coyote if you’re ever in the area. The food is amazing and the service is impeccable!

2022-03-30Very disappointed with the service from our waiter. Wasn’t even busy we were the only ones there, our order took a long time to come out (rude cook yelling and cursing from the back) the bartender was the only one that showed great service she was friendly and nice. Our waiter gave us our check before even asking if anyone needed more drinks or to Apologize for the wait. Horrible service first and last time we ever go back there. Some people in this location need training in being courteous, friendly, how to add on to a meal such as, can I get you another margarita or another drink. Oh well

2022-04-11I will never go there again. I would order out. The food is good but the service is not. The drinks are a scam. They honestly need more than one waitress. And they should work on being more kind to there customers.Ill give them one star only bc the food was good
