Came by on a Thursday around 10am. Seat yourself when you come in and a waitress will come by and tend to you. I ordered the shrimp and grits. My shrimp and grits was delicious, my only negative was I wish it was hotter. I understand times have changed and the luxury of eating out will usually entail a bit of a wait due to all the changes Covid has brought, but I just feel like to wait an hour for my food and mine and my spouses food was kinda room temp was a little disheartening, especially because I know grits stay hot for a long time lol. Again, food was delicious. Good music. My service was very good, we had two waitresses checking on us the entire time we were there. I would try this place again.
This is why I love ordering local and not from chains! The Brunch House is a hidden treasure and needs to be unburied for more to enjoy! It’s in its own nook downtown just away from the busy side. Got to come try has good variety! Omelette bowl I had was perfection! Nice cheesy omelette with creamy grits underneath. The grilled biscuit and coffee added that perfect flair!
I’m not sure where all of those positive reviews came from because there’s no way this place is rated close to 5 stars. Don’t visit in your nice clothes, and if you do, be sure to make sure there isn’t a giant piece of gum on your seat. Where do I even begin with this place?1. The “homemade” lemonade tastes like water, artificial lemon flavor and a boatload of sugar. Terrible. They’re better off serving Minute Maid.2. I’m not even confident that there was a whole piece of chicken in my chicken and waffles. I can tell you what I did have though - BREADING! I had two giant lumps of salty, deep fried breading that was so hard to cut that I nearly broke the plastic knife they gave me to eat it with.3. The scrambled eggs were cold and tasted like powdered eggs. Gross.4. The waffle actually had a nice flavor, but it was soggy.5. They give you foam cups and plastic utensils for dine-in meals.6. I got up to leave and there was a giant piece of gum on my pants. Bright orange gum! I was livid! Most of staff ran around scratching their heads and barely showed any concern. Only one person (who I assume was the acting manager that day) showed a bit of care and made a bowl of soap water as if I was going to sit there and scrub gum from the back of my calf. I didn’t have time to scrape gum from my pants, since I was on a lunch break from work. Nothing else was offered to make it right.Never going back!!
Probably the best breakfast I’ve ever had in my life. The sausage gravy is fresh and full of flavor. Potatoes are everything you’d hope for- crispy and creamy. The grits were amazing and I don’t usually eat grits. The staff was so kind and attentive. They worked really hard to make the entire experience so special! Even the cook stopped by to say hi and ask if we were enjoying the food. Our server Ashley was amazing! Go eat here, you will not regret it!
Great Service & Delicious Food! My husband and I are making this a weekly trip. My favorite is the Garden City Breakfast Bowl! The Shrimp and Grits are really good too; Chicken and Waffles… Oh, and the French Toast and Biscuits! Pretty much everything is good! I recommend making reservations as it’s limited seating.
Visited for first time today and thoroughly enjoyed my meal! Had salmon croquettes, eggs, diced potatoes and biscuit. Such a quaint spot that definitely gives you a diner feel. So happy to have discovered this hidden gem and even more excited to have a new black owned business to support!
Good food. Definitely a hole in the wall/dive. It’s as big as a minute - per hubby. But so friendly. Tight booths. Bacon tasted straight from a farm…delicious. Biscuit was good. Styrofoam cups, very small plastic forks. (Probably due to COVID, which is much appreciated) Pricing doesn’t match the ambience or silverware.
Best service (and grits) Ive ever had. Im a vegetarian and often struggle to find something on a comfort food menu, but this place was great. All of the good breakfast carbs (pancakes, french toast, and of course, waffles) were so good. Yes, I tried them all. But the people made it memorable. Thanks!
If you are looking for food cooked your Grandmas way, then this is the place to feast at. The grits were smoothe, tasty, and creamy. Fresh homemade Salmon patties, shrimp and grits, just to name a few. ( just my favorites) Definitely my breakfast place on the weekends. Please check them out. You wont be disappointed.
Me and a friend decided to check this spot out today. I must say we enjoyed the experience. The hospitality was great and also the food. I had the Salmon croquettes and my friend had the shrimp and grits. Wr both enjoyed our time there and will definitely be there again soon.Rico
Why I waited until yesterday to eat here is beyond me. Only a short walk away. The grits are some of the best and most unique I have ever had. Service was pleasant and fast considering they were almost filled to capacity. My food was excellent. I will definitely not wait to go again!!
It is a small diner with limited seating facility so you can expect to wait for an hour or more to get any service. Reservation is recommended. Most of the waiters and hostesses are very helpful and provide courteous service. However the shift supervisor is extremely rude with customers. After waiting for 45 minutes to be seated and then another 45 minutes after placing the order, I enquired about the status of my order as I saw many vacant seats and tables by then, cooks relaxed and chatting. This guy told me they are very busy and I can leave if I dont want to wait EVEN without checking on my order, which was actually ready by then. I was served with cold breakfast around 12:30PM! I also saw this guy bossing around his employees. He probably needs professional help to amend his attitude and behavior towards customers and employees. I would have given this place a better rating except for the rude behavior of this guy and flies inside the restaurant. The waiters deserve a kudos for putting up with this guy!!
We were charged a higher price than what was on the menu. When we pointed this out, it turned into a huge hassle and we had to talk to three people to get this fixed. Its as if we were inconveniencing the staff by not letting them overcharge. Food was fine but my wifes biscuit came to the table burnt and hard first so we had to ask for a new one. My medium eggs were also cooked easy. Other than that, it was fine.Likely wont return, which is a shame considering their bacon is delicious and so is the French toast.
I just had one of the BEST breakfasts Ive ever had. While visiting August on business, I decided to try The Brunch House of Augusta when nothing nearby was still serving breakfast. The almost one mile walk was well worth it. After making the tough decision to order the salmon croquettes with grits (there were many great options on the menu), was not disappointed. The croquettes were super tasty and full of salmon. The grits were obviously from scratch (sooo good!) and the eggs were cooked perfectly. The restuarant is small and not very well ventilated, but that is the only negative comment I have. I still give The Brunch House five stars for their food and the great service.I will definitely return to The Brunch House the next time I am in Augusta.
Absolutely delicious!!! I ordered salmon croquettes because they are my favorite and I was hoping that theirs would live up to my high standards..... and it did! Eating them took me back to my childhood when I would wake up with my cousins and my auntie would make them with cheese grits and butterbknot biscuits.... I even ordered my son a kids breakfast plate and he ate almost all of his. We will be definitely be ordering again
OMG this place is amazing! I don’t normally write reviews on restaurants but this warrants a few words of praise. I had the shrimp Alfredo and it was the best I have ever tasted… and I have tasted a few of them my friend. Every plate that past us looked good. It is a must if you are in Augusta!
I went here after seeing reviews and liked it. My food was cooked well and tasted great. The food presentation was above normal. Wait staff was attentive and food was priced reasonably. The only issue I had was the utensils where plastic and one broke in use. The location is small with limited seating so you may have to get it to go if they are busy.
Update:We came back for Fathers Day brunch, and it was absolutely amazing! Joe and I loved our catfish and grits, and we loved spending time with Miss Kim even more. Chef Frank made us some tasty homemade remoulade sauce, and they gave us some banana pudding🍌to take home. We love this family so much, and we cant wait to come back and visit as often as we can.Original review:Augustas best kept secret, hands-down. The quality of their food could only be matched by their legendary service. As soon as we walked in, we got the vibe that the people were very welcoming, and we knew right then that they had to be excellent chefs. My husband and I loved Master Chef Franks homemade blueberry and strawberry syrups on our French toast, but his homemade cheese grits stole the show. This was the only time I ever remember liking anyones grits other than my own. The best part, however, was the way Miss Keri, Miss Kim, and Master Chef Frank treated us like cherished members of their family. Mr Asian and Miss Samiah were very nice too. Cant wait to come back. Next time well bring our kids.
I had a lunch date there and I was impressed with the menu choices. I had the mushroom Swiss burger, I finished it all and I never do that in one sitting. My date had the chicken and waffles which I had some of as well and it was AMAZING. The customer service was great and they immediately acknowledged our presence as soon as we walked in. I really hope they get on DoorDash
I had a call-in order,I just left brunch house. Mannn when I tell you these people make the freaking burger Ive had in 20yrs. I had the Brunch house burger with fries. I love every bite of it. This is officially my burger joint from here in our for sure!! Thanks a whole lot!!!
Ive been to The Brunch House three times now and each time the food has been absolutely delicious. The first time I visited I had a burger and fries. I think both of the riverfront pubs are going to have a run for their money this year in the battle of burgers... because The Brunch House is definitely the best! The burger was thick, and cooked perfectly. All of the toppings were very fresh and crisp! The fries were served hot with the perfect amount of seasoning.... Now lets talk about breakfast! I love the breakfast here. The shrimp and grits are probably some of the best Ive ever ate. The shrimp are plump, and plentiful, while the grits are creamy. The Garden city breakfast bowl is my new favorite go to for after work breakfast. The chef somehow manages to make a perfect bowl sized omelet and layer it on top of crispy home fries. The only possible downside I can think about this restaurant is that they can get crazy busy, and seating is limited in the diner. While waiting for a table the waitress offered my friends and I coffee and a menu. The good news is that if youre craving some delicious brunch food during peak business hours you can always order online and pick up. I cannot say enough good things about this spot, and their staff. This place is the move for breakfast or lunch. You wont regret it.
I called before they open and the nice lady over the phone still took my order , that’s going over and beyond for your customers , the turkey sausage egg and cheese sandwich is amazing , I was wow how good it was I had to come back for another one , it’s a small spot , but friendly and professional and clean , customer service 100% I Recommend you try this place .
I found this restaurant through Google and saw that it had good reviews and decided to give it a try. The food was amazing. I ordered French toast with grits as a side. Most places do not add cinnamon to their French toast so I was very excited to taste their French toast had cinnamon. The grits were some of the best grits that I have had in a long time at a restaurant. I arrived shortly after they opened so I did not have to wait but I assume if you get there later in the day, there will be a wait.I will go back again to try their lunch menu. I highly recommend checking this place out.
I want to rate this restaurant higher, so I will return. My eggs and biscuit were seriously overcooked. I wasnt a fan of the turkey sausage, but thats about personal taste. The grits were very good. Our server was 5 star excellent. The restaurant has a cool retro neighborhood vibe. Youll want to make it your spot. I know many love the food, so I have to think it was an off day. I will be back.
Where to start…We had a reservation and upon entry, we were greeted with a smile by Asian. He was very nice and had excellent customer service.Chayni was our server. She was very friendly, attentive, and answered all of our questions. She paced herself and allowed adequate time for us to make our menu selections. And might I add, the coffee was amazing! Thank you so much!Kim was friendly as well. She came by to say hi, and when I thought strawberry jam was the go-to for biscuits, she suggested homemade strawberry syrup—TRY IT AND THANK ME LATER!The FOOD, staff and service are unmatched. Visit when you’re in the area.
Good, but could be much better. The good- The food was delicious (grits were phenomenal) and the chef was definitely the star. He personally checked on every table and kept wait staffbon task. The bad- my waffle was overcooked (not an issue), but it was literally impossible to eat with the cheapest plastic cutlery Ive ever seen. So it made for a messy situation forced to eat with fingers. They had none of the desserts advertised (their vendor apparently hadnt come). Also the pricing was irritating. Switching to pepper bacon was a $2+ upgrade to meal(not stated on menu). Making this worse was that turkey sausage was only a 75¢ upgrade but yet turkey sausage and pepper bacon are same price on menu.
Down home old diner, had reservations for 9 when they opened. People already outside tells you its good. Had fantastic Chick and waffles with an extra biscuit. Chicken was two large breasts which were juicy and tasty. Waffles were great and crisy. Egg over easy did they trick with nice runny yolk to soak up with tht waffle.
Saw all the wonderful reviews and was extremely excited to visit this establishment that was listed as a hidden gem and best place to eat in Augusta. My food took very long time to arrive. I ordered pancakes, salmon croquettes and eggs over medium. Pancakes were cold, eggs overcooked and salmon croquettes tasted like straight salt. I literally couldnt taste anything afterwards 😩. I am happy I dont have highblood pressure because I wouldve afterwards and then have to pay $18 for that? I have no idea how this place got ratings so good maybe they had an off day yesterday? 🤔 All I know is I have no intention of going back and cant in good
This place is truly “family serving families”. My group and I were greeted by Danny with a smile in his voice and the want to get us fed right! His wife Kim had the best brunch banter while making sure we felt taken care of, and their nephew cooked up the perfect home style brunch plates we all had ever experienced! 2 eggs cooked exactly right, potatoes soft on the inside and crisp on the outside, and the grits had a perfect consistency. I ended up dipping my Texas toast in their home made strawberry jam and it was truly a winning experience. They’ve only been open since February of 2021, but their execution of service and cooking seems like it has been honed in for decades. Highly recommend you make this a staple of your Augusta brunch experience!
I heard all the great reviews about this place so decided to try it after work one morning I had a really wanted some grits Wasn’t what I expected they were lumpy and cold just didn’t look like grits .. The French toast wasn’t all that great so basically I paid $16 for some bacon and a lemonade the potatoes were over salted won’t be returning Not to mention the nap that was in my lemonade when I told the waitress she’ll like it wasn’t a big deal
I have visited this place TWICE in one week! First order was Togo! Courthouse burger! Delicious beef was flavorful and cooked to perfection! Second experience was dine in.. I actually sat at the outdoor seating and it was a great experience the owner checked in on us and the service was great. Had the salmon croquettes this time with the grits.. omg! I cant get enough! You must try!
Small little diner on the corner and I loved it. The staff was super friendly. The food was amazing. I got shrimp and grits with a biscuit and it was the best shrimp and grits Ive had in a while. My husband got the chicken and waffles and talked about it for the rest of the day. The chicken had a beautiful color on it. My best friend got the french toast and they were so big and fluffy. The view from the table was great, such a cute location. Even the train paid a visit.I seriously cant wait to go again.
The Shrimp and Grits was excellent and the strawberry French toast decadent. Its a hot spot for sure so it would be in anyones best interest to arrive early to get a seat or prepare to wait but know its totally worth the wait. Wish I had the pics to prove the goodness but just trust the words. 🥰
For a place that made top 70 on yelps top restaurants nation wide we expected a great deal more. The Belgium waffle was spongey with no crunch, the French toast was great, and the fruit parfait was entirely unacceptable. They used frozen fruits which had a slimy texture and looked rotten. Then they tried to sell us on the fact that the fruits were acceptable because they had been frozen but it definitely was not. We wont be back.
The owner and his wife have created a great atmosphere of good food and good people. The food is incredible but more importantly it felt like eating with family. We went back again the next day just to provide our support and hope that they will open more locations. Hint: maybe Jacksonville, Fl. We ordered the Garden City Breakfast bowl both days because it was so good. Biscuits were fluffy too. We will be back again just to try the French toast.
Food. Phenomenal. Staff. Phenomenal. Their slogan “Family feeding family” is really what they’re about! Everyone from the wait staff to the chef behind the counter checked on us and made sure we were enjoying ourselves/food! They really make you feel like your family while you’re sitting in their booths and their food is absolutely DELICIOUS. Can’t wait to go back and try another dish!
Me and my girlfriend ate here yesterday and everything was excellent. I had been reading reviews and seeing posts about this place and we happened to be in the area so we checked it out. As soon as we walked in there we were greeted by people welcoming us and letting us know where we could sit. Which was awesome. Anytime I go somewhere new I tend to kind of pay attention to how the workers interact with each other and the customers. I must say I was very impressed. Everybody was communicating well each other and the customers. Everything was very professional. It felt like a family type of atmosphere in there. There was also very good music playing. As far as the food I got the garden city bowl and my girlfriend got something with salmon I dont remember the exact name. But it was all very delicious and flavorful. Overall the experience and the food was amazing. Five stars for everybody who was working and another five stars for the food. We will definitely be back again.
Pros: Felt like family, everyone was really attentive. The salmon croquette breakfast was good, the grits are awesome and the the portions are just right.Cons: Coffee selection is MIA (only regular style), the hot sauce is AWOL (did not have any), and the chicken (for chicken and waffles) looks like it was KIA (looked really dark, like the oil was really old). Conclusion: Decent dinner style breakfast/brunch establishment with awesome and friendly staff, however the food is nothing to write home about.
I finally got a chance to go and try out the food. IT WAS DELICIOUSSSSSS! I ordered the French toast, ham and eggs, and my daughter ordered the shrimp pasta...she loved it. We were so pleased we went back the next day. I ordered the pancakes and eggs and my daughter ordered the shrimp and grits.....let me say this...the shrimp and grits were seasoned to perfection. Overall the food is EXCELLENT!!!!! PRICES ARE VERY AFFORDABLE, STAFF IS VERY WELCOMING AND NICE. VERY PROFESSIONAL STAFF...EVEN THE COOK GREETS CUSTOMERS. THIS WILL BE OUR LUNCH SPOT...THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WE ENCOUNTERED...YOU WERE ALL AWESOME!
Great establishment and staff. Opened promptly was able to be seated right away. Black owned business which is awesome and the reason we stopped by traveling from Atlanta. Things we noticed that needed little attention: knowing what beverages are available at beginning of shift (orange, apple juice, etc.), all food should be same temperature (probably prepare eggs, last then plate), and grits needed a little more water and heat. Other than that we loved the simple take out plating for dine in. Already to go if you have left overs! Excellent customer service overall. And one young lady was a bit shy tell her shes beautiful and to appreciate her worth, we enjoyed her presence!
The Brunch House catered for my sisters bridal shower and everyone absolutely LOVED the food. Everyone raved about how delicious everything was. I went for a taste test prior to the shower and loved everything from the food to the staff. Ive told all my family and friends about this place every chance that I get.
We had breakfast and it was spicier than what you normally get at other restaurants. There is not much room in the café, but it doesnt matter to the enjoyment. The service is wonderful. Friendly and prompt. To the owners:1 Shrimp & GritsAndouilleWheat Toast1 Brunch House PlatterPork BaconScrambledGritsBiscuitIt was really just one item that was unexpectedly spicy: scrambled eggs. Everything else was wonderful.
This is probably my first review and I think my experience warrants it. Im a Southern acolyte of Waffle House but this place changed my mind. Taste of that food, I could practically hear my granny saying I needed to put meat on my bones. Bacon was crispy, probably the first time someone made eggs over medium correctly, home fries were just right amount of crunch, coffee was good, all at a great price, but not only that, the staff were super friendly and attentive. I would barely be finished with a drink before they were stopping by seeing if I needed a refill. I may be visiting family down here more just so I can stop by this place again.
Had our first experience here and this will absolutely be a regular spot for us. Great service and the atmosphere makes it feel like you’re with old friends. The food was fantastic! Best chicken and waffles in town. It’s a small spot, but you can tell there’s a lot of heart in this place.
Wonderful setting for some fresh, cooked to order good food. Grand in the simplicity , the atmosphere is homey and welcoming. Staff was pleasant and efficient. Danny(a proprietor) brought my food himself and answered my questions. Shay? was my server and on top of all my needs. Must check this place out if youre in the area, you wont be disappointed
We ordered in a couple times to get a taste for the place. I really enjoyed the strawberry syrup on my pancakes but when I tried it with the waffle, I just found myself using the dry waffle to soak up the sauce. Weve been debating if the syrup is homemade or comes from a jar. My brother wont tell me. If you made it yourself, save a portion from the batch for me to taste in house. Ill be having it with the pancakes! You know waffle house does it better. Jussayin.
Small hole in the wall place in downtown Augusta. From what I understand its a local black owner who is a great man. Food was delicious and they were well prepared to change up food items for dieters .. like my mom cant eat fried food...like fried chicken sandwich. they offered her to go out of the way to make it grilled for her. Things like that are a home run no matter the price range of the restaurant. Real hometown diner vibe as well. Place was buzzing when we were there .. great staff and food!
Where do I start!!!! Customer service was excellent!!! Before I got there the chef called me to make a suggestion to what I had changed on my order, which was the first good sign. Everyone greeted me when I walked in the building, and were friendly. Now my food!! I don’t even like cooked fruit, but I tried the chicken and waffles with the strawberry topping and it was so good!! The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy inside, it all went so good together!!My mouth is watering thinking about it now lol!!
Five stars is not enough to read this wonderful place. My wife and I went out to lunch and decided to try something new. I found this just as a suggestion through Facebook. The owners are spectacular and so is their staff. A grand welcoming of welcomes and hellos as soon as you walk to the door with friendly smiles. Their food is even better! Enjoyed this very much. Fantastic place! We will be back and hope they continue to be successful. Thanks for a great lunch! Also we highly recommend the barbecue chicken wrap with spinach!!! Probably the best wrap we have had in a VERY long time! Thanks guys!
Never got to eat... was given a 45 minute wait time... decided to wait, was looking forward to it... they never called after waiting an hour... we went back to the door to inquire about our table. We were then told another 45 minutes. They said something about how they had not taken into account the reservations being taken online! My children and I left hungry and frustrated.
Stop looking for great brunch/breakfast joints in downtown Augusta, GA. This. Is. THE. Place! Some of the best eggs, waffles, fettuccini, fried chicken, burgers, EVERYTHING I have ever ordered here has been absolutely amazing. Throw in the friendly staff, Frank at the helm in the kitchen, and the comfy diner decor... This is a brunch house not to be oversold. I would recommend a thousand times over to anyone looking for great cuisine in downtown AUG.
Great new family restaurant that serves food that tastes straight out of your favorite relative’s kitchen. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The potatoes were nice and crispy, the bacon was great, and the biscuits really taste homemade. Definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to get some brunch before enjoying downtown Augusta.
Decided to come here one Sunday afternoon & they were PACKED.. which is a good sign! The food was fresh and tasted great. The customer service was even better. Each member of staff constantly checked on us to make sure our experience was the best. We can’t wait to come back and try some different things on the menu!
The Brunch House is AMAZING!!First, let me tell you about the staff. They are so welcoming and knowledgeable about not only their establishment but the history of the area. Very close to the Riverwalk so after we dined we walked down to the river for a bout tour. Now, the food. It was soooo good. I had the shrimp and frits...the best I have had. I also had French toast, it was made just like my mother used to make complete with the little crunchy edges from the eggs.Dining at The Brunch House is a must-do. The space is a little small, but cozy. It really was like doing with family. Cant wait to visit this place the next time I am in Augusta
AMAZING! This local family owned restaurant is the BEST breakfast spot my boyfriend have had since we’ve moved to Augusta and we have been to just about all of them. It is not crazy overpriced and the food is actually seasoned nor dry!! It is the best and I would recommend this place as a must eat at when in Augusta. From the friendly staff to very respectfully deadass the best breakfast I have eaten here, it could not get any better than this restaurant.
This place his an unknown gem. It is funny because I see it everyday but because it is not all big I just never stopped. A friend just took me and the food is superb. I will be going back several times.Oh.........and the different types of cheesescakes........DELICIOUS.
Decided to try a NEW Brunch place and “The Brunch House of Augusta” was one of the Spots that popped up on Google & I am Glad it Did! I am very particular about my choice of Food Quality & genuine atmosphere energy . I was VERY PLEASED w/this Spot! The SERVICE, OWNERS,FOOD & ATMOSPHERE WAS AWESOME!! (No Cap) I will definitely be going back & feel if you have not been or ordered here yet (IT IS A MUST TRY). #support #brunchsquad #familyBusiness
So I cant dispute the taste as I never tried the food because I canceled my whole order. Heres why I canceled my whole order so the cook was preparing food WITHOUT GLOVES!!! OMG!!! I was so disgusted that he put fries on a plate and just grabbed the fries and put it on the plate again with his bare hands! That was so nasty and beyond horrible I would never eat here! Thank God I canceled my order!
An amazing first time experience. I was trying to see how I could fit another visit in before I left the city in less than 24 hours later. The food was plentiful and well seasoned. I tried the salmon croquettes breakfast and the biscuits are another story. Great service, tasteful food and I will be a retuning customer.
First time eating here today, and it wont be my last. The Black and Blue Burger and Fries are the bomb!!! Good food, extremely friendly staff, nice cozy atmosphere! I called back to thank the chef! Going back in the morning for breakfast, will try the Salmon Croquettes W/Grits.
The grits was not cook long enough the salmon was to loose it needed eggs or flour to hold it together didnt get no napkins or nothing to eat with charge you extra with a card even know they are high almost 20.00 for salmon and grits and toast nothing to drink wow i dont mind spending money if the food was good
Today was my first time visiting this place and I have to tell you that has been the first time that I have never had to put salt or pepper in my grits and my wife had the French toast and she bit it and told me she dont need syrup s y I was doing syrup this place was downright the best breakfast that I have ever had and if you are reading this go try it now

2022-04-25Walking in is like a step back in time. The restaurant was built in 1960 and has retained that period look. Seating is very tight- only about 8-10 booths. Currently the counter seating is not available. This is a family owned restaurant who shines in hospitality! So incredibly kind & warm. The kind of people I wish I could just hang out with and talk to. This restaurant opened during the pandemic in February 2021 and has already made Yelps top 100 Eateries.Several things are made in house including the blueberry & strawberry syrup, biscuits from scratch and the cinnamon butter. I had their #1 seller; the salmon croquettes. Honestly I found the croquettes underwhelming in seasoning and felt they could benefit from some Old Bay, dill and lemon wedges. The diced potatoes were perfectly seasoned. I ordered poached eggs after the cook said he could do poached but they were undercooked and some of the whites were still clear. My dining companion had the chicken and waffle. Chicken is only available as dark. The waffle was big and fluffy and smelled amazing. The eggs were a winner and much to our surprise were basted, something not usually found in the south. We also tried the sweet potato pancakes which I loved with the exception of one thing- they needed to clean the flattop prior to cooking pancakes as the flavor of the other foods cooked had transferred to the pancakes. If you’re looking for fluffy pancakes these aren’t that. Instead they are dense and I found them super enjoyable sans the flavor transfer.Use your own judgement as to the location. Greene St isn’t known for being the safest area. We carried and while we were there someone was shot in a drive by on the same street 4 blocks down. Not trying to deter anyone but situational awareness is important.

2022-07-23Families feeding Families ❤️ Owner and son were very hospitable and welcoming. Their food was delicious! I had an open faced omelette with stone corn grits underneath it and a homemade buttery biscuit that melted in my mouth. My husband had biscuits and gravy which were also amazing. The waffle looks like everybody elses but let me tell ya, its one of the best Ive ever tasted!- small restaurant (make reservations)- they offer military discount 🙌- if you DO have to wait, walking around the area is very nice (wear comfy shoes)

2022-09-14When into The Brunch House this morning and has a wonderful meal. the chicken and waffle was amazing. They make their own blueberry and strawberry syrup (a must try). I also ordered the shrimp and grits with turkey sausage. The Shrimp and grits were extra creamy. The portion size was enough for two. If you like them a thick order extra grits. I would definitely recommend if you have time to stop by and try them out DO IT!!! You wont be disappointed.

2022-07-18If you are looking for breakfast with love and soul mixed in.... this is the place. Its ideal for a downtown drop in. Its delicious enough for a date. The service was always with a smile. The music playing was a delightful compliment to the meal. All in all. GO EAT THERE.

2022-03-12For those that dont know, this is the old Whistle Stop Cafe which was a fixture on the local scene for decades and then closed. It is nice to see something new and fresh in its place. The food is really good, my eggs were very tasty and the bacon, wow, sweet and savory. My pancakes were crispy on the edges, yum. Dont like having to use plastic utensils and drink my coffee out of a to go cup. I enjoyed the service as well.

2022-03-05This place is amazing! The chicken 🍗 and waffles 🧇 exceeded my expectations! I highly recommend making a reservation online before you go. It can get crowded but the food and SERVICE is worth it. Did I mention how great the customer service is? You get greeted outside with a lovely lady on a iPad. The employees and owner are constantly checking to make sure you’re doing good. 2022-02-15The food was good, but it does take a while to get it if you go at peak hours. The 4 person booths are extremely crowded feeling and it was packed when we went. Not a fan of tight seating, hence the drop by a star.Id say the best thing on the menu was the biscuits. Dont cop out and get toast - youll regret missing out on the warm buttery fluffiness.

2022-09-17This was a great stop for breakfast I can see why people make reservations. This is a small family spot and the breakfast is tasty. I had the catfish and grits which were on special for the weekend. This father Son shop has all the tech you need with Southern Charm. I really enjoyed my meal.

2022-06-02My experience here was fair. The restaurant was not busy. One waitress came to my table and took my drink order. Then as she was getting it, another guy took my order. I then saw him sit down to eat his own lunch a few min later. After waiting 30 minutes for my food, the original girl came to my table to ask what did I order. I told her the guy had taken my order and to my surprise they told me that my ticket had been lost and my order hadn’t even been put in yet. This was unacceptable. There are too many people coming to tables as waiters/waitresses. This causes confusion and it’s kinda annoying for someone different to come every few minutes asking if you are ok. More training is needed in this area. No manager came to address the problem! There should also been protocol for this. Other than that the food was ok. It did get to my table, hot. I had the chicken and waffles.

2022-01-22Customer service grade: A+++++++.The food was delicious. I had the shrimp and grits with a side of pancakes. And their homemade lemonade would be a great choice for your drink option. Everything was fantastic! Highly recommended. Cant wait to go back to try something from their lunch menu.
