The Chop House in other cities:
Absolutely beautiful, lovely place, depending on the time an day can be busy an there may be a wait, up to 35 mins. Food an food presentation is off the charts the steaks are killer Absolutely beautiful an delicious. The staff are some of the most lovely kind people, food comes out in a timely manner staff stays on top of cleaning an bussing tables. 10/10 would recommend ❤ (try the mozzarella wedges )
The food here is always great. The lunch specials are extremely well priced and very fairly proportioned, and the dinner menu specials are too. They have amazing cocktails and their appetizers are unbeatable. The servers are friendly and the atmosphere is just nice and pleasant, especially in the winter when the fire is going. They accept reservations but I usually have no inclination to book as they have a large seating area indoor and outdoor and I’ve never had a wait time beyond ten minutes.
Nick and his team were amazing! It takes a strong leader with an exceptional team to provide the service given today. We were a party of 7. Nick accommodated us with two booths side by side so that we didn’t have to wait. Our waitress was outstanding (I don’t remember her name) but in the mist of our order she had to leave for an unforeseen family emergency. The switch between waitresses was amazing. It was almost as if, she was our waitress all along. Orders came out timely and were ALL correct. We didn’t wait for refills and all needs were met without hesitation. All while they were in a brunch rush! I can’t elaborate enough how pleased I was with this dinning experience. Thank you all! My family sends our prayers and love to her family! 🙏🏾😊
My husband and I had an exceptionally good dinner last night. From the warm crusty bread to dessert was a delight. The salads were cool and crispy, the loaded baked potatoes were a hot, cheesy treat topped with delicious chunks of thick sliced bacon. The steaks were absolute heaven on a plate, cooked to perfection with a lovely sear, the right amount of seasoning, juicy and as tender as a Mothers love! I asked our waiter, Andrew to pick a dessert for us and he did not disappoint bringing us the beignets. They were soft, delightful pillows of deep fried dough served with a sweet creamy dipping sauce and a rich dark chocolate sauce. Andrew was a very attentive, knowledgeable waiter. I dont know what was the most pleasant experience was, the dinner itself or having Andrew guide our dining experience!
The only reason I’m even giving this a two star is because our server was pretty decent. For this being a upscale restaurant I expected the food to be better seasoned, and prepared. I’ve been to one before in another city and it was so much better. I ordered a prime rib, medium rare, and it had no flavor at all. It was dry (thank god for the au jus!) but I couldn’t even stomach to finish it and didn’t even take it to go! That should tell you enough there. I asked if the baked sweet potato came with butter, cinnamon and brown sugar- to which my waiter replied “yes of course”… and it came plain! So, I asked for this after- and was delivered a pre made butter side. Severely disappointed in the whole meal entirely.
We visited this place 2 times within a week. The lamb chops are they most delicious meal on the menu, we are very conscious about the meats we consume. The sweet snap peas were so sweet and fresh it delighted my taste buds. The manager is one of they best managers Ive seen in the restaurant industry. He was very attentive, kind, friendly and prompt. The ambiance is very warm and inviting.
After two flights tired and hungry came here for a good food! Ordered this dish and got charged $20 for a small seafood fettuccine.Well it had absolutely no taste whatsoever, like cup of noodles is tastier than this!I added salt and pepper from table to the dish to just be able to eat it!Not to mention they were looking after silverware after they brought my food and that took good real 2 minutes!Food was watery and veggies like tomato and green beans were not cooked!Such an experience
We met up at Chop House after church. I got the pork chops and they were delicious. My mother enjoyed her prime rib. Our friends had grilled shrimp and seafood pasta. The service was great and we had no waiting to be seated. My mother loves Chop House. Needless to say, we will be back.
Everything was perfect and delicious. When Im in Augusta, I will eat here every day and not bother going anywhere else because I know whatever I order here will be perfect, delicious and wonderful. This is what happens when people really care about their jobs and are really great at what they do. Service was stellar too, so I gave the waitress a huge tip.
Food is good but you can never get good curbside service because people are allowed in park there and dine in. Why say it’s reserved for curbside if you don’t enforce it? Trying to call in you order is another ordeal. You have to go in to order unless you want to wait 30 minutes to place your order. It feels like you have to fight for food and that’s not a good experience.
We loved Chop House in Pigeon Forge (top notch) so we went to the Augusta location when we were nearby tonight. The worst experience weve probably ever had at ANY restaurant, so much so, we left without eating our meals. Service started out top notch...then we were forgotten. Over half an hour to get drink refills, once my husband went and got them for us. Food was either cold or undercooked. We also witnessed 3 other tables, have their food remade. The waitress was overwhelmed and told us it was like that every night with the kitchen messing up almost every order. She said it is worse on weekends. Augusta needs to get their house in order... what could have been at least a $100 meal, cost us $18 only because we asked to pay for our appetizers and drinks so we could tip the waitress for the portion of good service we received. Extremely disappointing evening when trying to have a nice date night with my husband.
I ordered a filet mignon, medium rare. The steak came medium well and if you know anything about this cut of beef, overlooking it makes it chewy and dry. I sent the steak back. It took too long to get back so I decided I didnt want it at all. Management comped the meal. The person next to me at the bar also complained that her T-bone was well done and she ordered it medium well. Whomever was in the kitchen today doesnt know their temperatures well. Either way, the experience wasnt bad. The rest of the food was good and the staff was incredibly kind and attentive. I still made sure to tip the server and they were willing to redo the steak and box it up for me. I have a flight to catch. If I had been local, I would have taken them up on it. Ill likely try to return again as the customer service was stellar but overcooking a steak is sacrilegious.
I ordered ordered prime rib steak well done. I only ate around the edges of it because it was pink everywhere else. My friend ordered a burger and they didnt give her cheese and our fries were cold. The manager didnt do anything about it. It had already taken over 40 mins to get our food and it was NOT good. I wont be going bk .
The food was okay but would have expected a lot better service especially for the price! There was four of us and our bill was $185! 3 Reg. drinks (Not alcohol) 1H20 2 appetizers & 4 Steak Dinners. It could have been more if the waiter we had stuck around to hear my daughter finish her sentence saying that she would want dessert. But that was no surprise considering he would bring something to the table and leave so fast that you couldnt even get a chance to ask for something like a lemon for your tea. And when he would run by we kept having to ask him over and over if we could actually have a refill on our drinks! Worst waiter Ive ever had, he seemed to Hate his Job! He did have one other table which was an eight top! And we understand if you run behind but that wasnt his only problem his personality was awful! For that kind of money Id rather go to Bonefish grill at least the servers have personality and make you enjoy the experience!
Horrible Horrible Horrible it took over 30 minutes to get out spinach dip, then when it comes out it’s mostly spinach and chips are burnt, my daughter fried with her chicken tenders were cold, my husband asked for a well done T-bone steak with char it was raw, the chest salad was mostly cheese no lettuce, my broccoli with my steak was cold, my steak was barely warm!!! you could hear the cooks in the back arguing. The waitress was great but everything else was horrible!! I do not and would not recommend this place unless they get rid of the cooks!! Even the waitress said that the cooks dislike each other.
I normally rave about the food here, but yesterday was a horrible experience. I went in to have dinner while Im in town visiting my Mom. I ordered 6 ounce filet mignon, rice pilaf, broccoli, and sweet tea. The tea was like liquid diabetes with all the sugar in it. I had to ask for a glass of water to weaken it. The bread was brought to my table about 3 mins before my food, which took about 35-40 minutes. I get my food and taste the broccoli and I was like this is a little undercooked than normal. The rice pilaf was not really hot. The filet mignon was good as always, but that was quickly forgotten after I took another bite of the broccoli and it wad like it was right from the produce section. I told the server and he offered to bring me more, but by that time I was finished with everything else. Didnt offer to speak to a manager or anything. The service and food was not what Im used to receiving while going here. I would have only gave one star but the steak was good. Nice presentation, but as a whole doesnt taste like it looked.
Terrible service. Sat at the bar prior to being seated and asked for a water; waited 15 minutes before being seated (which was fine) but never got my water. Following being seated, we went without menus for 20 minutes, then our server came and gave us menus and left for another 20 minutes before even letting us put our drink orders in. Wont be coming back
Prime rib was Good size and juicy and tender. Lobster tail was Sour, but they took it off the bill and we were satisfied, although the server stated he smelled it as well upon bringing it. Didnt understand why the food was not searing Hot as it was lukewarm. But Overall I will revisit.
This was the worse experience I ever had at chop house… we waited an 20min. To be recognized then when the recognized us being there they told us that our server was busy with a party. They gave us bread with and don’t take our drink order. Then after eating all the bread … my son had to get the hostesses to get us some drinks at the table. Meanwhile 10 minutes later we are told our waitress was busy and another waitress will be taking care of us.. she took our order and we still waited almost an hour for our food…. While waited…. We did not get refills on our water and wheat to ask for our salads. When our food finally arrived the order was mixed all up , the food was over cooked and COLD!!! So at this point we asked to speak to a manager.. as we were telling the manager what happen .. He had this blank look on his face as if we were annoying him.. he asked us if we wanted a to go box after we told him the food was over cooked and cold and our food wasn’t brought out correctly and the never gave me my bacon that was ordered. We told him no thank you and he told us to have a nice day. With no compensation for our time lost… we left to NEVER return. That manager needs to be fired. That was no way to leave your customer s after receiving bad service…
My wife and I were in Augusta for work and this was our choice of restaurant too visit on our last day, we had never been before so we decided to try it out. We walked in and was seated immediately. I ordered the ribeye which was juicy and delicious, my wife ordered the teriyaki chicken which was very flavorful and tender, we both had loaded baked potatoes which were fully cooked properly. The staff was very friendly and attentive, no need to ask for refills, they just showed up at the right time. Im sorry I dont recall our servers name but he was excellent. We will be back in Augusta next week and will definitely be returning to your establishment. My ONLY negative comment would be that we were seated on the bar side tables (not the issue) and there were two TVs on showing sports talk while both the Atlanta Braves and the NBA conference finals were playing at the time we were having dinner.....but thats just me. ⚾🏀 😁
We were able to get right in when we get there at 11:20. The restaurant was clean & the staff was nice. We ordered onion rings to come out before the meal. They were pretty good. I ordered chicken tenders, fries & a side salad, Mom had the steakhouse burger, Dad had their crab cake & scallops with Alfredo noodles, & my husband had their chicken fried chicken. Food was good, not great, but Id eat there again if I were ever in Augusta.
The Chop House was not crowded. The waiter was very slow, he did not check on us to see if we needed more water or if the food was okay. It wasn’t, mine and my husband’s steaks were over cooked. We had to remind him about our salads and I wound up getting a water to go plus we just brought our salads home with us.For the price we paid eating here just isn’t worth it! Bad food and bad service!!!
Definitely gone downhill since our last visit. Overpriced considering the quality of food and service. My husbands steak was mostly fat & gristle and undercooked. Baked potatoes were overcooked and dry. Appetizer, salads and entrees were all brought out within seconds of each other leaving an over-filled table and making me feel claustrophobic and rushed. We were even asked if we were ready for to go boxes as we all had forks in hand and were getting drink refills. Repeatedly had to ask for plates and glasses to be removed along with having to wait and ask for a drink refill. We wont be returning.
We had a wonderful meal last time we came here. My wife ordered the ahi tuna (which came with chips), and I ordered the chicken fried chicken with a double order of mashed potatoes. She also got a soup as a side, and we got bread with the order since it comes with it. My meal was amazing, the mashed potatoes were really flavorful and with just the right amount of garlic. The chicken was really tasty too however the breading was a bit too hard in placed. My wife really enjoyed her fish, however the the chips were not really well suited to go with the meal. Maybe next time, if you decide to order it, try a different side because the chips were lacking in flavor and also seemed to be a bit stale. Otherwise, everything was great and our server was attentive. Since we came for lunch, the prices were also good.
Ate here for Saturday lunch. It was a great value with delicious food. Our meals were $11 each with drinks. It is better than any food at the food court and quite a value. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The waitress we had was the best. The pictures only show how it looked. The taste was amazing!!The cup side is creme brulee corn. It is a corn pie with sugar baked topping. Try it as one of your sides.
We had an absolute great visit to this place. The food was perfect and the proportions were sized right for leftovers! We had the filet and prime rib and my opinion is that this was the best prime rib in town. The restaurant was clean, the staff was super friendly and the food came out in a very reasonable amount of time. I don’t know what else you could ask for.Try this place!!
My experience at chop house on MOTHERS DAY was the worst!!! The host turned me away Bc I didn’t have a reservation with them and told me it will take them 2 1/2 hours for them to sit me and I told her I would wait but then she said that they will be closed by the time they sit me! So I will never return again because every experience I have had at chop house has been bad, just dealing with the people that work there!
Ok so let me start with the good. They make an excellent well seasoned and well prepared steak. My boyfriend loved it. I had the chicken which was also moist and delicious. Now for the not so great parts. Both appetizers we had the jumbo shrimp cocktail & ribs werent good at all. We sent the ribs back the chef that day clearly burned the sauce as burnt honey is an unmistakable taste. The shrimp was way smaller than expected for the price. The creamed spinach was cold and was sent back by the waitresses suggestion I tried the mac n cheese. The flavor was ok but the noodles were so over cooked it was mush. Having that all said the meat was worth it the sides werent. Give it a try the staff was cool and the place was nice.
Ill start off with the statement that Im looking forward to a second visit. On this initial visit I only got myself a grilled chicken salad (lunch with friends) and while it was good, it was completely drenched in dressing. Consequently, I only ate about 1/2 of my salad before I had to stop. That said, the entrees ordered by my friends looked amazing and smelled equally delicious. Service was friendly and the restaurant was clean. The decor was pleasant and didnt detract from the dining experience. As said, I look forward to coming back and ordering something more robust and updating my review.
I decided to try this place out as a last minute birthday dinner to myself. The atmosphere was really relaxing upon walking in. However, the floors arent heel friendly. Lol... I did slide some. The guy seated me quickly, soon as I looked at the menu the waiter walked up. He was really nice and I went ahead and ordered then. I had questions and he was able to answer with confidence. Once the food arrived it tasted amazing. They even gave me a dessert with a candle. This was my first experience and this will not be my last..... Thank you so very much for a great experience.
Was in town yesterday. Had pickup order. Not pleased. My dessert...super suprised at price to quality and size. NEVER AGAIN. This time my food wasnt even good. So shocked. This was the Key Lime Pie. My receipt is bigger than the pie and the crust was missing in the back.
Great place to eat on a Monday! Military 50% Mondays. Great selection of appetizers, meats and drinks. The deviled eggs were amazing with the brown sugar bacon on top. The 14oz Ribye was good but make sure to order yours medium rare. The medium well was just as tough as a well done steak. Oh and try the PRIME RIB! Was amazing for my friend.
My husband and I went a few weeks ago and it was fantastic. We went tonight and it was BAD. Our bread was raw, we ask for more but didn’t get it. Our salad came out at the same time as our dinner. The baked potatoes were cold as were our steaks. I spoke with the manager and told him about our meals and he acted like he didn’t care. All he offered us was more bread!!! 😡😡😡
Waited an hour for a table that had been available for 30+ mins. Our waiter was rude and no personality whatsoever. I ordered the rosemary chicken and it was like eating a sponge. My mother in law was with me and she has ate there before (this was my 1st time) and she loved it, well this visit here changed her whole mind. She ordered the teriyaki glazed chicken and hers was stringy. I hope I never wait that long for a table and be that disappointed in the food again. They need to do better esp for the price of the food and it be that nasty.
With the name Chop House we came here expecting great food and high quality steak. It was far from that. The service was great but that’s all they had going. We ordered 3 steaks total, 2 filets and 1 ribeye. Both filets were under cooked and the ribeye was over cooked and had a terrible flavor to it.
Have not dined there in a long time, decided to go use to be my favorite place. Tonight however was by far the worst experience there salmon meal first time came out raw and cold, Second time overcooked and dry sides still cold the manager was notified and said she would make sure everything was good on Second plate. Then as compensation offered free dessert to both of us and the server brought one I guess to share. At the prices that are being requested to pay for the plate it should be worth the money and the service. Most likely would not return
With how many positive reviews The Chop House had, I had my hopes up for having finally found a restaurant that wasnt just fried chicken or BBQ. My hopes were unfortunately crushed less than 10 minutes later (suspiciously fast) when greeted with boring broccoli (it was listed as steamed broccoli so it wasnt technically wrong or bad but come on, I can get the same results with a microwave. Id rather see roasted or seasoned as an option to add more flare), mediocre mashed potatoes, and sub-par crab cakes. They didnt taste particularly impressive and Im convinced Costco sells better ones in their freezer section. The drink menu did have some interesting options and my waitresses were all fantastic but lets be honest, thats not why I decided to come here.
This place had great food, but was unbelievably understaffed. They were gracious enough to seat us without too much of a wait, but drinks took forever, and my salad came out after my main course because it was initially forgotten. Management needs to work to fill their manning shortages.
We went here for my birthday dinner. It was nice ambiance, right amount of lighting, and our server was great. I had the seafood Alfredo which was huge, my husband had the crab cakes and for our appetizer we had the Florentine (I think that’s what’s called) pizza. The only reason for the mark down is we were expecting crab cakes which came out more like a crab pattie. It was good but looking at it, it was flat like a chicken fried steak. We were so busy talking I only got pictures of my bday dessert.
Had reservations for 7p. Checked in with the hostess and she told me it wouldn’t be long. As I stood over to the side, a woman came in behind me and the hostess told her that it would be a 20 minute wait. About 10 mins goes by and the woman that came in behind me is being seated. I go up to the hostess and SHE FORGOT ABOUT MY RESERVATION. She immediately sat us. Other than that incident, the food and our waitress was great!
I love the chop house and come here often. My last experience was not so pleasant though. I called in my order of chicken tenders, fries, a side salad and a cup of water at 5:50 pm. I was told my food would be ready in 15 minutes. I called back at 6:07 to pay over the phone and let them know I was curbside to pick up my order. The server said she would be out in “just a second”. I waited for 25 minutes before getting frustrated and going inside to see what was going on. Once inside, I saw my order just sitting on the bar with the server standing beside it. She told me she had just checked my order but had a lot of door dash orders. I checked my food, and my fries were cold. She replaced those. My tenders weren’t hot, but I was tired of waiting and thought they would be okay. They weren’t. They were dry and stringy. Definitely not worth the $20 (plus tip) that I paid for this meal! I am very disappointed as The chop house is my favorite restaurant!!! I’ve never had an experience this unsatisfying before!
I really WANTED to like this place. Convenient location to dip out for steak for lunch. Service is hit and miss. Sometimes great. Sometimes I feel like I’ve been forgotten. The default steak temperature is medium-well. I’ve only ever felt like my steak was medium-rare (as ordered) twice. If you like to put ketchup on your steak, this is the place for you. Was only worth it on half price military Mondays.
It was my first time here the host was so friendly and sat us down right away. There was no wait which I was so happy about because we were so hungry...and the food is so delicious OMG !! Our amazing waitress ( I wish I would have asked for her name.. she had long hair and was tall.. lol) she brought out some warm delicious bread and butter. Omg it was too die for!!! I had the filet mignon and lobster it was made perfect!! I also had the house cabernet it was great!! I loved the atmosphere here very chill and relaxing which was great to sit down enjoy a cocktail and have great conversation with family... I would highly recommend this amazing place you will be so happy you went. I will definitely be back!!
Eating at the chop house, regardless of which location, is an experience and a good one at that. Chop house is a higher end steak house that has absolutely wonderful food, a bit pricey unless you go for lunch and get the specials. Then its honestly just as cheap to eat there as it is at many fast food restaurants but with alot better atmosphere and alot lot lot better food. If you go for lunch get the petite pork chops, I get it with a baked potato with butter only, and Mac and cheese(speaking of which they have the beat Mac and cheese of any restaurant Ive ever eaten). Its $13 for that meal at lunch, but you really really need the mozzarella wedges, Ive ate cheese sticks and mozzarella balls from all kinds of places but chop houses mozzarella wedges are the absolute best in the business. Again a high end steak house but you definitely get what you pay for and its well worth the trip.
Sat right down & then forgotten about at 3:15pm on a Saturday afternoon. They arent busy with 20% customer tables filled. Plenty of cook & wait staff whizzing by seemingly walking from front to back or vise-versa. My wife grabbed a young waiter & he said he wasnt our wait staff then doubled-back saying hed take us...ordered & then long wait again...food arrived at 4:15pm warm without flatware. Wont come back.
My husband and I first time eating here although we only been in Augusta for a few months this place atmosphere was great the food was cook to perfection ,the drinks stayed full 🥰 and our waiter Chris was magnificent. We will return soon . Thanks for a great first impression.
Very disappointed, the food was nothing great and I was so looking forward to a wonderful meal. Asked for medium rare prime rib and it was very rare. The pork chop my husband got was a bit dry, the onion rings disgusting. Don’t waste your money. One good thing was our server Jasmine. She was outstanding!
Went for an early dinner yesterday. The food was tasty. The utensils and butter dish were dirty. Service was very slow in the beginning. We got a slice of cheesecake to-go and it tasted like rotten eggs or something similar. Into the garbage it went. I was really looking forward to this dinner, as we’ve had great experiences in the past, but left a bit disappointed.
We got there in time for the lunch menu. I had the grilled shrimp over pasta with a crab cake. The boyfriend had grilled chicken with sides. The portions were perfect, the prices were great and they had a lot of options on the lunch menu. (There was a pesky fruit fly but we managed.) We went on a Saturday afternoon and there was over an hour wait but the food was good!!!
We went a few weeks ago, and we had a great and bad experience. The kitchen took FOREVER to get our food made. In their defense they did have a party of about 30 people outside. So we understood and were very patient waiting. But what made our experience pretty bomb was our server Nick! He was absolutely wonderful! Very attentive and kind. He gave us updates throughout the duration of us waiting. They did end up comping our meal bc it was over an hour before we even got our appetizer. The manager that was on duty was also very kind but I don’t remember his name. When the food arrived it was fabulous! One of our favorite restaurants!
Great drinks - do not eat here!Sat at the bar both times I have stopped in over the last few months. Bartenders both were great and drinks were great. Food was terrible. Artichoke dip was not good with stale chips and Santa Fe Salad - gross! Maybe the meat is better.... Very disappointing. Hopefully this is just because they are shorthanded and have a fill in chef? Also... the major drama of staff consulting with bartender about their dissatisfactions with peers seemed to be nonstop at the bar was a bit unprofessional.
We showed up at 10:30pm after the Navy Ball, & despite the fact that The Chop House closes at 11pm, they sat us as though they had hours left before they closed; that was unexpected, & the kind of customer service I dont see in food service anymore these days. [I worked in food service in the 90s, & I was trained that you greet people with the same welcoming spirit from the time the restaurant opened, to the time it closed, but it is not the kind of 5 star treatment I find at most establishments these days.] I hadnt eaten all night during the Ball, & I was starved, so it was incredible to have the option of eating at The Chop House (one of my favorite Veteran-friendly, upscale steak houses) so late at night. Our server was attentive, but he never hovered; given the speed with which my boyfriend drank his lemonade, I dont know how he managed to stay on top of the glass rotation, but he kept my bf steadily refreshed. We were both impressed by that, & it may seem like a small detail, but thats one of the tougher things to do with my bf (& in food service, if Im being honest, esp if a section is busy). I had still water with lemon & no ice; usually there arent any issues with my first glass, no matter where I go, but 99% of the time the second glass either comes out with ice or is refilled with a pitcher containing ice. I never had to worry about that, & given that cold water bothers my stomach, ice water really upsets it, so this was a huge win for me. I also ordered the Whisky Burst from their cocktail list, & it was delicious; nice, citrucy, not too sweet. Really well balanced by the sweet & sour, & the bitters; Im definitely going to be ordering that again at some point. My bf ordered the 9oz filet med rare, loaded baked potato, & burgundy mushrooms. His filet looked gorgeous. It was fat, juicy, & red as can be from edge to edge, yet warm (as a medium rare should be). I ordered the 6oz filet med rare, steamed broccoli, & burgundy mushrooms. Heres where things were disappointing; my filet was puny, dry, & beige with the smallest strip of pink through the dead center of the steak when cut in the middle. The edges were well done, the middle was definitely medium. I immediately felt that with limited kitchen time left till closing & clean up, rather than preparing our filets separately, the chef took short cuts & put our filets on to cook at the same time, waiting until my bfs 9oz filet was done to pull my 6oz filet off (which ruined a $26 filet). Everything else on my plate was absolutely delicious, & my bf shared his filet with me, & it was truly perfection.I am loathe to send anything back, but I had two bites & realized I needed to show our server the filet & ask if the cost could be reimbursed. I was absolutely offered another filet, which is one reason why The Chop House has my loyalty in the first place, but I was not going to ask the kitchen to stay open (it was 11:16pm by that point) for my sake given how late it was when we showed up. I just asked that the charge for my filet be removed, & they were more than happy to accommodate that request, they also stated we could take the filet with us if wed like (I hadnt eaten any more of it), but I felt I hadnt paid for it & we were both satisfied with how much wed had to eat by that point, so we left it behind. So, The Chop House is truly a class act, & has my continued loyalty. Our server was incredible, & the rest of the staff was kind & so accommodating, I cant thank them enough.
Went to Chop House for mothers day. We arrived about 3:50pm, knowing that they would be busy. 2 1/2 hour wait. Finally got a table. Took 25 minutes to get our drink order. Our drinks were refilled 3 times before our appetizers came out. I ordered the prime rib and it tasted like a large slab of pepperoni. Wife and oldest daughter had steak and both were over cooked. And the servers didnt even know what cut of meat they had. The time we did get our meal, we were full off the appetizers. Even my 1 year old grand daughter didnt eat there mac n cheese. Sad thing is as Im writing this we are still here. Been here for 4 1/2 hours. Never again.
The atmosphere was great. The food was perfect. But most of all the service and hospitality was AWESOME!! Our waiter for the night was Nick. He made the visit very enjoyable and relaxing. We need more people like Nick in the world today. So kind and courteous. My wife and I was out on a date night enjoying the nice day, and decided to eat here at The Chop House. It was the cherry on top of a perfect day. Thanks to all the staff and managers. Were from Madison Ga, and when in the area again, well definitely be visiting again. Good luck and best wishes to Nick.
Terrible service! Ate the bar so I would not have to wait. Bar tender Brianna had an attitude when I sat down, didnt clean of the bar from the previous customers just picked up the plates. Didnt greet me just asked if I was by myself. Forgot my drink order. Got my steak it was medium rare not medium well and the baked potato was cold. Didnt see Brianna again didnt ask about my meal and did not refill my drink. Then kinda threw my bill at me and got a quiet thanks. Wont be back any time soon!
I frequent the murfreesboro location often and have never had an issue. They have the best ribeye Ive ever had. I went to the Augusta location expecting the same and had a very subpar experience. The steak was bland and overcooked and there were multiple issues with my order. The management reduced the ticket but did not seem to care about my complaint which was not money but quality. I will return to the chop house but not this one in Augusta.
My husband and I love this place!!! The food is good, and if there is a problem they do their best to fix it!!! Way to go Chop House.December 29, 2021 Well….. the first post was three years ago!! The place was Great! Now December 29, 2021🤔😳. Awful experience! Doors closed carry out only!POOR SERVICE!! Waitress seemed angry! Food awful! Shrimps, not done, salad 🥗 old nasty! SALMON OVER COOKED!!!! Baked potato 🥔 uncooked!!! Hard!
While visiting a family member in the hospital, we went to the ChopHouse for dinner. After a short wait, we were seated. Our waiter was very attentive and the food came out quickly. Unfortunately, my steak was cooked incorrectly. I told the waiter who showed the manager. The manager approached me agreeing that the steak was incorrect and said they would cook me another one. The new steak came back and it was still incorrect. I sent it back and said I did not want it. The same manager came back to my table, profusely apologized, took the meal off the tab, gave me a free dessert and a gift card for my troubles. FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Even though my food was incorrect, I would give them another try! The food for my family members was done correctly and they very much enjoyed it. My salad, baked potato and key lime pie were very good. Thanks again!
Currently sitting at the bar waiting for my order, been sitting here since 5:43. The bartender, Brianna was not attentive. Took our order from the computer and never offered any drinks. Didn’t ask if we wanted to order drinks and placed the ticket on the bar without a word. Very poor customer service every other person that came into the restaurant after my wife and I received their order and was presented with the opportunity to order drinks. This was a horrible experience and although I had high hopes as this was my first time patronizing this establishment I will not be back this was very unprofessional and unsettling.
This was worse dining experience! We waited 45 minutes to be sitted only to receive horrible service. MY date ordered the steak medium-well ( it came out rare) with cream spinach and loaded bake potatoe . Both the spinach and potatoe was cold. And I ordered the Special with Shrimp and crab cakes. THE fettuccine noodles were ice cold and the Shrimp were not even hot! The bread was served not. Bread had been sitting for awhile because the butter wouldnt even melt on the bread. Advised by the waiter that is hottest temperature it comes. Asked for the manager and it took him 10 minutes to come to the table . Manager remade the food; only for the crab cake to be only luke warm. Not freshly cooked.
I’m not sure what just happened. I tried to make a reservation online but was told that I would have to call the restaurant. The first person I spoke with told me she needed to transfer me to the front. When the next person that answered the phone, I asked to make a reservation for 4 adults and a child for 5:30 on Saturday. She told me that they were booked so I asked what time they might have open and her response was “I don’t have to tell you that. We are booked.” I was curious so I went back online to see if I could make a reservation for 4 people at the same time and day. I was able to make that reservation. I am left to believe that they either don’t want children in the restaurant or they don’t take reservations for more than 4. Either way, the person that I spoke with was being less than honest as they were clearly not booked if I was able to make a reservation for the same time and day without the child.
I think my server was overwhelmed with other tables. He greeted me and told me hed get me some water while I decided on a drink. He brings the water, drops it off, and goes to his other tables. Eventually he sees me and it dawns on him that I havent ordered so he asks for my order. I told him I wanted an appetizer (I was not asked if I wanted one), I gave him my order, and he was about to leave when I told him I still hadnt ordered a drink. I ordered steak, he was about to leave again without asking me how I wanted it cooked. Fast forward--->The appetizer comes out with cheese sprinkled on it. I dont eat cheese. They take it back to the back, change plates, pick off the pieces that have too much cheese on it, and brings it RIGHT back. So now it doesnt have as much food on it but I dont complain when other people are in charge of my food. My steak comes out soon after. Not once did he bring me any bread. As I am packing up my meal, I ask him for some to go. But I saw him be so attentive to other tables so Im not sure why my service was lacking. But the food was good. I just wish I had the service to go along with it.
The Chop House had a delay today. The host stated that there was a large party arriving. I waited for 20 or more minutes, before I got a seat. The host also stated that the kitchen was behind. However, my food arrived quickly. The prime rib sandwich was excellent. I was disappointed because they did not have a slice of key lime pie.
This was by far the worst Customer Service and Food I have experienced! First the Mac and cheese was cold 3x (I had to send it bad ) and my husband steak wasn’t 14 oz because it looked the same as mines , then when asked to speak with manager they caught a attitude ! Then when they brought the ticket they tried to charge us for 3 steaks instead of two ! And they took forever to bring us our food back (remade) only to have the Mac and cheese still cold( mines) and my husband steak not cooked correctly! I don’t complain but this was by far the worst food and customer service I have had!!! If I could give ZERO STARS I WOULD!!!
Flexible! Friendly! Delicious!!!I would like to thank the staff and managers at The Chop House for being SO accommodating!! We had a retirement luncheon and our number grew to be quite big. We were almost at Max for the patio -which is lovely! Even on a very hot day it wasnt unbearable. The service was outstanding. The waitresses were so very kind. The managers were helping the servers. For an event for 50 people everyone had their food/drinks/bill within 2 hours -ON TOP of being open for regular business. Thank you Chop House we will be back! Please if you are looking for a venue or place to eat, dont be discouraged by the mall-it is offset from the mall, and feels like it completely separate from everything. Ambience, food, service -its awesome. Thank you!!!
Pittsburgh rare sirloin is fantastic! The bartender was overwhelmed on a Saturday by herself, but she did great considering how busy she was. The prime was perfect, on one side, cooked more on the other side. Smoked salmon dip a awesome, would love to try with shrimp chips (they were out at the time we visited).
Our Bowling Banquet was last nite, 12 May. Being in charge, I stopped by last week just to touch base. Nick Joiner, the partner manager, showed me the patio and answered all my questions. Very helpful. Unfortunately yesterday was stormy and cold. Nick warmed the patioarea. He also had a backup plan... inside tablesnear the fire to accommodate all 18 of us!Madelyn was our server and was rockin it! She was everywhere, bringing drinks 🍸, coffee, etc.The food was delicious. A good time was had by all!!!
Some of the best restaurant steaks I’ve ever had. You can tell that everything is prime. I would recommend trying the cowboy steak, which is an off the menu item. Everything is more expensive here in terms of steak, but you are definitely paying for the quality. They have a great wine selection. This place is great for a date. The atmosphere is very peaceful and feels clean. Depending on what day and time you go, expect to wait, but it is worth it once you get a seat.
I never desired to eat here because I came to get an application for a job when it first opened. It was 2 or 3 o blonde headed girls at the door. When I asked for the application one of the blonde girls laughed and said Their not going to hire her. I felt so disrespected. Im wondering did they ever hired any black people. All of the black people worked in the kitchen..Ill go and check out the scene this week. Ill be back with another review.
Had lunch there 7/16/16 with a friend. We both had Ribeye steaks cooked to perfection! My Cesar salad was great. My sides were great as were hers. Our server was pleasant with us and other customers and she knew her menu options well. Seeing others comments perhaps I should mention that our server told us that the owner was in the kitchen that day as an explanation why our food came very quickly. Overall, we had a great experience and we plan to go back.. Thanks Chop House!UPDATE: Back again 9/5/20 and still the best dining! Ask for Dustin.
I am very disappointed in my visit to Chop House. My partner and I (two black men) were seated. We sat there for 15 minutes and no addressed us. There was a manager who was walking around doing table touches; however, she skipped our table. Additionally, there was a server who walked past our take 7 times and failed to ask if we needed a drink, if we had been helped, etc. Finally, I was fed up with the dismissive nature of the establishment, prompting us to leave. We did tell the hostess that no one helped us, and she seemed unmoved.....Additionally, I tried to submit this on the Guest Feedback on the companys website, but the link is not working.
Service started out great ...I think that she had too many tables.. the tea is sugar water.. the food was good all except my steak was sent out bloody instead of medium well.. then instead of making me a new steak... they wanted to put my steak back on the grill? If you pay these prices for a steak ...you make a new one..you dont make a steak dry by placing it back on the grill.
When we arrived at 2pm they said the wait would be 35 - 45 minutes, well we were at our table in about 20 minutes. That was the best part of the entire visit. To see our waiter the first time took about 10 minutes, we ordered drinks and it was another 10 minutes at least for him to bring the drinks. He brought us bread and it took 3 trips to remember the plates for the bread, one of those plates was filthy. Our appetizer took at least 20 minutes to make it to the table. Our food came in waves to the table instead of all together. The turkey and dressing was so dry that no amount of gravy was going to help, the broccoli was undercooked to the point that it should have been used for a veggie platter. The chicken fried chicken was served on a dirty plate and the peppered gravy tasted like flour, the small spoonful of mashed potatoes were barely warm. The corn casserole was too well done on the top as well as inside the little dish, with much too much sugar and almost nothing else. When did servers start squeezing the lemon into your tea and bringing refills with almost no ice and more squeezed lemon and a completely unwrapped straw in it? Our booth had not been throughly cleaned in a very long time. Food is over priced and our server cant possibly make a living waiting on tables. The manager never spoke with a table while we were there and didnt speak to us even after our complaints.
The first cocktail we got tasted like dirty water, the next was just nasty.. but we let it slide thinking our meals would make up for it. The server forgot to put our appetizer in (which she told us she forgot) our food came out as soon as she went to put it in the system. The manager helped us correct that issue thank goodness. I ordered a medium steak for my entree and it came out well done. The server offered to remake and and pack it for to go for us and my “medium” steak was well done AGAIN.
I enjoy going to the Chop House for lunch or dinner. Many selections are provided plus the pricing is good. Im always pleased with the quality of the food! My last lunch was fantastic! I had the salmon, it was delicious and perfectly cooked! My waitress, Brianna, was very attentive and I appreciated the time she was able to give me for making decisions on the food plus she came back to check on me at just the right times during the meal and at the end! She asked if I needed a to go box and brought it quickly. There was no waiting! The Chop House is my favorite place for any special occasion or just a lunch!
My parents have dined at this restaurant for years. I never cared for it until recently when my family hosted an event there. The food was better than I had ever had while dining there and the service was exceptional. All staff was attentive to our needs. With such a large group, everyone did a great job exceeding the expectations of our guests. This is a result of great leadership. I commend the establishment and it’s management for providing such a great experience. It took this experience to change my mind about the Chop House. While I absolutely had no desire to visit, I now look forward to the next occasion.Job well done!
Visited for our 31st Anniversary. I had baby back ribs, oh so delicious. Wife had the steak she said it was delicious too. Have been visiting here for our Anniversary and Birthdays for more than five years. Love the great service and low light settings. Wonderful place to eat dinner or for a celebration.
Atmosphere was good. Our server was excellent! Very accommodating and friendly. The food however, not so much. I had a sirloin salad(lunch portion) that looked like a side salad with a few pieces of meat on it. Hardly any dressing on it. It costs $11 so I expected better. Another guest steak was over cooked and he never got his meal so he took it to go. The pasta Alfredo was very soupy. Another guests pork chops were dry. Tasty but dry.
I usually don’t do negative reviews because it hurts someone’s business but, quality control needs to be visited here by their management team. But yeah, Don’t come here. Salads were old and looked and tasted like they were sitting out, lamb was burnt & over cooked, and our food took forever to come out, just to be disappointed. Try somewhere else.
Amazing food!! EVERYTHING we tried was delicious!! Good service (which is why I give the restaurant a 4 instead of 5). Our server kept forgetting to bring items we asked for (but he was always very pleasant). We ate outside on the patio and it was still nice and toasty, warm and inviting! I will definitely go back!!!
Visited tonight with my husband. The atmosphere is nice but was disappointed in our service. Asked twice for a glass of water and it came our after we had already received our salads. And bread came our after that and our appetizer. The calamari and shrimp was a good appetizer. The steak and prime rib were ok. Overall, I dont know if it was worth the money we spent.
I have to write a update to my last review of the Chop House. Went back on 5/7/20 And order a Sirloin steak dinner for 2 and i will say it was much better. I got to meet with Mr. Nick whom came by personally. He was friendly and wanted to make sure everything was as ordered. When my meal arrived this time i had to send back the bake potato because it was not hot. My steak taste better but i still prefer Hot food served. They got me another potato and because i did not want my steak over cooked i ate the one i had. They were out of Heinz 57 sauce. I was just thankful I got to eat and sit towards the back not to many other people. I want to thank Alison and Nick for the do over.
We stopped in early afternoon on Sunday. We had just come from camping and were a little under dressed. We were seated within 5 minutes.Wait staff was very nice. Checked on us several times during the meal and kept the glasses full. All meals were to order except for mine. I ordered top sirloin medium and it came well done at best. It tasted great so it wasn’t too much to worry about. All the food was excellent so nothing to complain about there.Atmosphere is great for a steak house. Bar was separate from the main dining room and did not have too much noise bleeding over. The lighting was lower with a rustic feel and a see through fireplace lit while we ate.We will definitely be back when we are looking for a steak in Augusta.Only reason I didn’t give them a 5 Star is because of the well done steak.
We checked at the host station with a 35 minute wait. Went to the bar for a drink and noticed seats available so we cancelled the seats at the host station. We were able to order our drinks and food quite quickly. James, our bartender, had a great attitude. Ordered Ribeye steaks, they came out perfect. The food smelled and tasted so good, we forgot to take pictures. Great flavors, great service. Will go back soon.
It was our 22nd anniversary and Im glad we ate here tonight. When we entered we were greeted in a very courteous and inviting manner by a lovely young lady. We asked for a large booth and that is exactly what we were given. All of our food and drinks were perfect. Our food server was also very courteous and on point with a personable personality. The staff made our dining experience much better than just the great food. Im glad we chose here tonight because it made for a wonderful evening.
From the moment we walked in, with no reservations made on a Saturday night, we were seated very quickly. (Within 10 minutes). The host and staff were very polite and moved with a purpose. Our server was very professional and she was very sweet in thanking my son for his service in the military. The restaurant was very busy but I could see people coming and going quite quickly after their meals. The food was absolutely delicious! I had the single pork chop meal with mashed potatoes and it was heavenly. My family all had something different and we all agreed we would return to this location once we revisited Augusta again.
We were pleasantly surprised at how nice this restaurant was since located in area Mall and it being a chain. We had a great Server, Brianna! My boyfriend had the Prime Rib that was cooked perfectly which he is very particular. I had the Ribeye Medallions that I ordered Medium Well! They were unfortunately cooked too long though I understand every persons version of that can be varying however I did state wanted some pink in the middle which it did not. I had ordered it with mushrooms and a glaze that was delicious and made the steak more tender so that helped and of what I could eat I enjoyed. I dont like to complain so wasnt going to say anything though disappointed at first. Brianna did notice it wasnt cooked as I had ordered and offered to have them to make me another. I told her it was fine but thank you. She really went the extra mile though even offering us any dessert from menu on her which was more than generous especially as I didnt send back and ate majority of it. We were full so didnt think dessert was going to be possible but she said theyd pack it to go for us to enjoy it later. So, we did take her up on that as I dont think she wouldve let us leave without. It turned out to be a nice dinner for us especially since they were so busy as it was a weekend night; we had made Reservations after reading Reviews prior which suggested to be better prepared to avoid a long wait. The serving sizes were quite generous. Ask for Brianna if you can. She was very helpful w my wine selection as well.
The atmosphere of this restaurant is very nice. We were not in a hurry, so we were just talking and enjoying being out, when our server came over with our food and apologized for it taking so long. We told her no worries, we didnt even notice, and then the next thing we knew the manager was coming over telling us that she was sorry it took so long and that they were taking care of our meal. Let me just say that the food was excellent, but the customer service was too. I have never seen a place just offer to cover the bill because the food took a little too long. Especially considering that we never mentioned it. It was such a nice surprise to go somewhere that was so into making sure they did right by the customer, even when the customer wasnt complaining. Great job, Chop House. 😊😊😊
Made reservations and got right in. Placed our order and food came out unbelievably quick. My steak was overdone but they took it and made it right quickly. The 10oz sirloin was extremely good. It had tons of flavor and wasnt tough at all. The chocolate mouse cake was very good as well. Their desserts are actually pretty large so very possible to split. Nice atmosphere as well. Good for groups

2022-05-18Love The Chop House. The food is always fresh, and I have had good experiences with pleasant and friendly servers. The petit pork chops, lamb chops, or any of the steaks are always fan favorites. They have an array of appetizers and sides that are not just your traditional sides such as the creamed spinach which is my favorite. The Chop House is a great place for fresh food, in a clean and inviting atmosphere, with friendly staff.

2022-05-01Excellent, but rather pricey food. The chicken tarriaki was awesome. My daughter loved the seafood pasta. My wife said the steal left a little too be desired. The server was quick, efficient, and attentive. It was worth the 40 minute wait.

2021-11-10Amazing deviled eggs appetizer. Shrimp cocktail was best ever. Service was fantastic. Filet minion medallions were by far the star of the night! Manager even checked on the table numerous times and truly cared about me and my guests having a great experience. Which it was!

2022-07-01I ordered my food at 2:19pm. It never arrived until 3:26 an it was lukewarm. Fries were soggy. The ticket says it was put in at 2:31. So over 10minutes after I ordered. They forgot my mac&cheese so that was another 10minutes. $54 for Togo food that isn’t fresh an took forever. Never again. It was a pretty basic order too. Shame on it all.

2021-12-31Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo??? More like Chicken Fettuccine & Oil. The time I was here the server gave me poor service and the plan was to tip the server the same amount as my bill. Of course that didn’t happen. Today the service was GREAT but the food was horrible. This is definitely my last time coming here.

2021-11-11On an extended visit from Brooklyn,NY and came here based on Google reccomendations. So far Ive learned that youre either going to get good food or good service here in Augusta. Very rarely will you ever get both. Location was clean, ambient and professional. Service was shaky at 1st but improved tremendously over the course of dinner. Food was... okay. Maybe short staffed and busy night or just an off night IDK. Sweet Tea was waaay too sweet. Coffee was burnt. Old Fashion drinks were okay. Table bread and butter was phenomenal. Ceaser Salad was salty. Corn Tamale cakes is just a fancy way of saying Corn Muffins with Pico de Gallo, Ranch and Avocado. Ordered the Full Shrimp with Fettucine & Broccoli & a side of Mac n Cheese as well as the 16oz Prime Rib (rare) with side of Baked Sweet Potato and the Caramel Fudge Cake. At first they missed the Fettucine with Broccoli & when I did get it it was half a head of plain steamed Broccoli with literally 2 fork twirls of plain Fettucine. Shrimp were super dry, had to rely heavily on the lemon juice & lemon butter to improve. Mac n Cheese was okay but the waitress waived the Mac n Cheese due to the mix up. Prime Rib was over cooked to Medium Rare and bland. After requesting the Au Jus, it became better. Sweet Potato was good. Caramel Fudge Cake was super super dry. Again the service was great, waitress became very attentive throughout the course of dinner, but the food was a little off for the price.

2021-08-09The food was delicious and the customer service was great! The chicken was cooked to perfection!!! It was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, mashed potatoes was buttery & the mac & cheese was creamy. Environment was nice and everything was neat and clean. Would highly recommend!!!
