Be aware, if you ask for an early checkin (even 2 hours) and the room is available, they will charge an additional night stay. Even though they didnt have availability the night before.
I only stayed one night but I enjoyed my updated, clean comfortable room. The view was nice although the trees blocked a bit of the lake from my room. I liked being near the lake with chairs to sit and relax while being steps from the lake. The pool & spa were very nice. My fitted sheet kept coming off the king bed which wasnt a problem for one night but could become a hassle. Overall I liked the room and my stay.
The bathroom had wallpaper peeling off the wall and the tub area was badly stained. The hot was broken an the accesses were not working. Breakfast was prepackaged stuff like at the convenience store.
Room was efficient, bed comfy except the fitted sheet kept coming off the mattress. The AC did not cool adequately at all. Very disappointed that the pool chair lift for the disabled was non- operational. Therefore, my adult disabled son could not enjoy the pool because I am not able to lift him out of the pool. My hope is that this will be fixed so we can return. Staff was very pleasant. The grounds were great. The pool could use more chairs/tables and the waterfront seating could use more chairs as well. Overall our stay was pleasant over the weekend of July 4th.
Checked in around 9pm but didnt go to the room right away. We got to the room around 12:20am only to find stains on one comforter with what looked like animal hair and a bathtub with mildew. Not worth 134.00. The female at the front counter was rude when we entered so we figured it wasnt worth complaining because with her attitude we didnt think anything would be done.
The rooms were clean and in good condition. The walls are a bit thin so you can definitely hear your neighbors. The pool is great and so is the lakefront seating. Staff was short tempered but still accommodating. Our breakfast was good compared to your average covid-19 era hotel breakfast.
For the price..you cant beat this place, on the water, great fishing, swimming pool hot tub, big nice rooms, excellent location
I was quoted 129 for regular room and 159 for a suite. Also, a one time 50 charge for pet fee.I called the lodge and talked to the girl at the service desk about our overcharge and requested the manager return my call. I have heard nothing and they charged 803 for a 2 night stay. Heading over there this morning to get it straightened out. Also, going to dispute the charges with my bank. I have my receipt folks so why the overcharge? Better watch your bill at the end of the night. Not cool! Other issues, key cards never worked, bathrooms were dirty, could hear the person above us walking in their room, hair in the bedding, cold showers, Air conditioner was horrible , the walls above the window was gross and girl at front desk never returned my call. There was a few wedding parties there so maybe their rooms were cleaned and they weren’t overcharged. How will this hotel respond to this review?
Humid stuffy smell throughout. Walk out to pool area and gutter drips on your head. Pool furniture minimal, mismatched and broken. 2 rodent traps on pool deck. Walk out the side door and air conditioners drip on your head. Cigarette button everywhere. Our room was not cleaned for 3 days. Sheets came off mattress and we could see there was blood on mattress. Spider webs in room and entry. Would not consider a late check out.Staff was pleasant, actual pool seemed clean, the grounds were nice, location was great, activities were a nice touch.The property has potential but needs some help.
When we first got there the staff was very nice and they even presented us with a goodie bad. Then it went down hill. The coffee that is supposed to be available 24/7 was non existent. When we got to our room our key cards didn’t work and when I went to use the bathroom in our room it was filthy. The floor and toilet had not been cleaned. The towels looked like they hadn’t been washed and the carpet had not been vacuumed. I took the towels to the front desk and was given new towels. They were also dirty. They offered us another room, but it would have been just more of the same. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. Everything was either microwave or instant. I would never recommend or stay here again.
We have stayed at the Lodge several times. This time our service and room was terrible. The elevator was broken and the lady at the front desk said, I don’t know if it’s broken or not, I just stay in my office.The lobby smells of musty mold. We get to our room it’s the same. Mold stains on the wall, lamp shade stains, curtain stains and water issue in the bathroom.
Local couple staying overnight while work being done on our home. We checked in late at night and were looking forward to using the pool the next day and were told that we could not use it after checkout at 11. We would not have stayed here if we had known that. We have stayed at a lot of different hotels and have never been told that we can’t enjoy the amenities the next day.
We were passing through Madison and they had no hotels available. I called over to this hotel and got Nikki and she was a gem in our time of need. The hotel was clean, and affordable! The bath and body works soaps were a nice touch! Great place to stay!
Cant say anything negative..I live about 3 miles from the Lodge..I have heard good and bad things. All I can say is just LOOK AT ALL THE REVIEWS then make your call.Keep in mind there are newer lodgings at I20 just a few miles away..if you want to wake up coffee in hand walk out the door and be on the lake this is for you...
We stayed at The Lodge overnight to attend a wedding nearby.Access to the Lodge was easy enough, just a straight shot off I-20. The sign was a little small, so it was hard to see coming down the road. A little easier at night since it was lit up.The room was spacious but had a few issues. The AC unit didnt really seem to respond to whatever temperature setting we had it on. We had it on 72 and were sweating under the sheet, and then turned in to 69 and it was still rather warm in the room. It would cut on for about 30 seconds and then not run for 15 minutes. The walls were also very thin. We could hear the people in the room next to us VERY clearly. They were speaking at normal levels, and we caught every word of their conversation while trying to sleep. The shower also was not quite perfect, as it only switched to half shower and half faucet when I pulled the shower tab. I also had the water on as hot it will go, and it was only lukewarm at best.Breakfast was just pre-packaged bagels or muffins, so that was quite barren. Although that might have been due to COVID.Staff was fine, but a little unenthusiastic.
This hotel is Not the top of the line, nor the worst.It is Clean and serves a take with you breakfast (still due to covid ).They have a decent sized outdoor pool and a small inground cement Jacuzzi for 6.The pool/jacuzzi closes at 9pmThey are near the lake on the cove which you can see from the pool area and your room if your on the backside of the hotel.They also have Adirondack chairs and a small fireplace close to the water.If you have a boat, they have docks where you can tie up your watercraft for easy lake access.If your afraid of elevators and or small spaces, you may want to use the stairs, lol.It has the smallest elevator Ive ever seen ☺Staff is friendly and helpful.If you stay here your visit should be pleasant.
Had the most definitely beautiful romantic honeymoon!!! The front desk ladies were so friendly and always had something positive and Nice to say to us both. When we came back from getting married I showed My wedding/and Valentines ring to the front desk clerk and she really really made me feel good without her sweet compliments I really enjoyed our stay there and Im so looking forward to visiting back there soon
Starting out with 0 stars if i could. Not happy, the employees seem unhelpful over the phone. But if I had read the reviews I would not had made reservation here. Sounds like there is a problem. A lot of unhappy people. We will see. I will publish my stay in the local paper. Good or bad.
Positive: location Negative: room STUNK! needs remodeling, shower disgusting, my room mate couldnt even take a shower she was so grossed out. Fire inspection out of date in elevator, creamers in breakfast room spoiled, should be refrigerated, ice machine broke, too expensive!
The rooms are fine, but the walls are paper thin. We could hear every word our neighbors said. The bathroom did not have a fan.
My room was indeed immaculate and it smelled absolutely wonderful. Front desk was friendly and gracious. There is a lot to choose from for breakfast and the eating space and staff are lovely...but if you want really good food you should go elsewhere. Which is easy to do because the lodge is surrounded by some really good restaurants.
We spent 2 nights here and had a wonderful time! Pool and hot tub are clean and not overly filled with chemicals! Rooms are clean, breakfast was fully stocked even with a full hotel!
The staff was great especially Jesse at the front desk. The room was no where near as clean as the last time we stayed here. We understand changes due to COVID but believe the quality of the food offered wasnt acceptable.
Weve stayed here several times over the years and this was our most disappointing stay. The outside grounds of the property are being maintained well. However the building is showing its age even through fresh paint. The a/c on the second floor hallway barely works. Its very hot up there. I feel sorry for the cleaning crew. You can see where theres been a good bit of water damage from something and it has been patched over, but not professionally repaired. The a/c in our room leaked and had the carpet soaking wet and the freezer compartment was so thick in ice buildup it wasnt useable. The pool and hot tub were not working and I was told they had no idea what was wrong or when it would be fixed. The paddle boat they have for rent was also broken and had been for awhile according to the clerk on duty. Swimming is allowed in the lake, but theres no ladder on the dock to get in and out of the water. Its very difficult to climb up on the dock to get out. The rocks lining the bank make it hard and unsafe to get in and out also. Breakfast is to go only in paper sacks right now. Its nothing special, but will tide you over until lunch. For all the issues going on at the property, a discount in the price would be nice to help accommodate for no amenities right now. Its still about the only place to stay in the area unless you can rent a house, which is much more economical.
I have to admit the place is beautiful and very relaxing however I was recently employed there as a housekeeper and I tried to get a room once while employed and the general manager wouldnt allow it. I eventually I left and today i tried reserving a room and the general manager came out saying I couldnt rent the room because Im a previous employee. Now what sense does that make? I cant stay if I do or dont work there? While I was employed he said the help couldnt be mixed in with the guests. The Help thats all he referred us as. Very unprofessional and not very business like. My money is just as good as anyone elses
Spacious rooms. Pleasant staff. Nice location. Very quiet. Great breakfast.Terrible pillows and air conditioner was not working properly so it was very warm in our room.My kids loved the pool and hot tub. They have a nice little business center and fitness room. One washer and dryer that costs only a dollar to use.Very nice place.
The best fix for this place is the tear it down and start over, our room had a smell to it just walking into the building it had a musty smell to it. My niece and nephews room was so bad that they refused to stay there. The pool area needed a good cleaning with cigarette butts laying on the deck we asked staff to turn the lights on by the pool and was told they do not work.
Positive: Room is nice and clean. Negative: I booked a handicap room but was given a room on the second floor and had a tub they had no handicap rooms I booked this room a month ago a month ahead of time
We were quite happy with our stay here during the Masters Tournament. The staff was nice and accommodating. The hotel hosted nightly socials with free food for Masters patrons. The pool and hot tub overlook the lake. There is a free breakfast, along with meeting room space, a business center, laundry facilities, and a spa/gym. It’s also not far from a super updated Publix grocery store and a short drive from plenty of golf and The Ritz.
Staff was very friendly, rooms were nice, and breakfast was good (although it ends a little early). The location was pretty good, there were lots of restaurants within a short drive. My one gripe with the location was its position on the lake. Its nested deep back in a wake free zone and getting to the main open lake takes a solid 10 minutes by boat as a result. It wouldnt have been a big deal but trying to share water sports with other family on a short rental window was a lot harder because of this. Overall a great value and would consider staying here again when on a budget!
Accountability for what there assistant manager told me in regards to the final price was incorrect. Her statement was that the rate would not change given the circumstances. Contacted the GM and he was no help . Whoever owns the place may think about hiring someone who will admit when they are wrong and correct it.
Simply gorgeous venue! My favorite part was the dock area in the back! The rooms are modern and clean. Staff is kind and courteous. The Jacuzzi rooms are very nice! We enjoyed the restaurant that shares the parking lot. It was nice to walk to dinner, have a few drinks, and not worry about driving.
It smells like mildew in every room and the air conditioning in the rooms barely works. I asked for a fan and the front desk said they had one but wasnt willing to bring it up to the room. This hotel just isnt worth what they charge. I almost certain theres a mold problem, they have bed bugs and its roach invested. I guess they get away with a lot of things because its the only hotel here on this lake.
Great value for waterfront lodging. Very clean. Sanitizing stations and clean rooms and common areas. Individual air units for rooms add extra value when looking for a safe place to stay. Lake Oconee is a wonderful getaway and the Lodge helps you keep your vacation costs down.
If you are an angler, then I recommend you find somewhere else to stay. The manager is not accommodating AT ALL for anglers. We have stayed all over and NEVER have had the issues we have had here. They would not let you charge your boat, and if you tried they unplugged it. Actually called the police because people kept plugging their boats back up. MIND you the parking lot has been full the past three Saturday with tournament anglers. If you have a hotel on a tournament lake, you will have tournament anglers that need to charge their boats. They made major money the past three weekends from anglers and refuse to let them charge their boats???? We are a highschool with 11 teams of kids. We stayed there two Saturdays in a row. We will make sure to stay elsewhere for next tournament. We refuse to give our money to this hotel. Even if we have to drive 30 minutes.
If I could give 0 star I would! Kept unplugging our boat from charging at the outside outlets and even called the police to some who plugged theirs back in. No hot water, 2 towels and washcloths for a room that slept 4. When asked for more we were told they were 3 months behind on getting their clean laundry..... makes you wonder what we were sleeping on! Don’t waste your tome or money!
Clean rooms, friendly staff. But! There were some issues with the hot water length and the knob for the tub fell off and the maintenance man had to come fix it.We stayed 2 nights and could barely see the lake from our room. It was only a short walk to the water, but not much to sit on down there. The pool was closed (off season) but looked nice.Breakfast was fair: waffles, muffins, hot cereal, cold cereal, bagels, as well as biscuits, eggs, and gravy. Standard, nothing to be amazed at.Jacuzzi tub was nice.Not much to do in the area in the off season or without a boat. But still nice to get away and relax.
We love that we can dock our boat right behind the hotel. Our room was clean and the breakfast was better than expected. Could use some touch up paint, but it was mostly the normal wear and tear.
Our bathroom was not very clean. I had to request on both days toiletries as none were left in room, but all others in our party had them provided in there room. Towels were worn and had to go to the front desk for both towels and bath items. Bed sheets were dingy and were not changed our bath mat also was not changed. Mirrors were dirty and streaky.Breakfast was very good. Other parties rooms were nice clean and well tended to. I think our maid was lazy.
Very outdated, needs major overhaul, from rooms to docks, to all furniture inside and out. Fitted sheet and mattress pad kept coming off at night to reveal stained mattress, air conditioner did not cool room well, had ants and a few bugs in my room, pillows were terrible, the shower was a joke. When I pulled up knob to get water to come out of shower head about 1/4 of water came out, rest was spaying all over my feet in the tub. Told front desk, said they would have maintenance fix but they never did...cell service was really bad indoors even connected to WiFi, lots of guests would go outside to make calls and text. Staff was friendly and helpful, so that explains the 1 Star I gave. DO NOT recommend, stay elsewhere.
Rooms are very clean. Staff is very friendly. I had never stayed here before, was in the area on Business. I would recommend to stay here. A real positive is that they have a Great Restaurant right next door well within walking distance.
Please do not stay here!I was originally very excited to stay at this hotel. The reviews looked great. I reserved my wedding block several months in advance. When making the block, I requested to keep us all as close as possible(at the very least, keep the wedding party on the same floor). Shemika said that it could be done.This did not happen. My wedding block was scattered among the 3 different floors (My disabled father was placed on the 3rd). My wedding party was separated on different floors. This caused chaos and difficulties come wedding day. When my husband and I came back from our wedding, we explained what was supposed to happen and what did happen. Also we were not sure if we had met the quote that Shemika had said where we were to get our room free for the night. We also asked if there was anyway we could be compensated for heckticness. The lady working that night was very nice and listened to what we were saying. She told us not to worry about paying tonight, she would see what she could do, and it would be handled at check out tomorrow. We get up to our room and there is a huge wasp. I had the worst experience of my life at check out the next morning. When we asked the same thing that night, we were met with extreme rudeness and disdain from Andrea at the front desk. This lady had me balling my eyes out at the counter. When I asked her to please stop with the way she was speaking to me, but she STILL continued with her extreme rudeness. I WAS NOT EVEN TALKED TO LIKE A HUMAN! I had to run away from the conversation because she would not stop. In the end, all I wanted was an apology (The room was payed in full) Andrea said she was sorry in the most sarcastic voice I had ever heard. I even verified with my wedding friends that it was to insure I was not hearing incorrectly. What a way to end the happiest weekend of my life. I was completely traumatized.I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. If you have the option to stay ANYWHERE else, please do. This place is not worth the price. I wish I had taken my wedding party and family members elsewhere.If the owner is ready this, please understand that I do not want anyone to be fired for this review. However, the staff should be retrained in customer service. I do understand that Andrea was trying to do her job but I have never been spoken to in such a way that I felt like complete trash.
At checkout, Andrea was very hostile when the bride + groom of our block of rooms tried to negotiate a new price (calmly, and stated they understood the original looking clerks mistake). She was very degrading toward them and I do not think this reflects the high standard management of this establishment has set.As a side note: we also had ants in our bathroom, which I suppose ended up in my luggage, which then infested my car on the ride home.Not a very good experience with this hotel.
We have stayed here for the past 3 years for the Workd’s Largest BB Gun Match. We have recommended this place to multiple competitors and their families. We have always encountered excellent customer service, clean rooms, and a good breakfast. For the past hour+ I have listened to people run back and forth in the room above us. Called the front desk from our room several times with no answer. Went down to the front desk to find no one behind the counter. Finally heard someone coming from the kitchen, made my concern known...I have competitors that will need to be up at 5:30am. If the noise doesn’t stop, I’m going to need to go up there myself, get a refund, and/or wake the guests above us, who have kept us awake to nearly 1am, with a friendly phone call at 5:30am.
Rooms arent cleaned the greatest. We found a hair clip from someone else when we got there. There were ants in our bathroom and another guest said that they had them as well. The sheets do not stay on the bed either. The elevator also hasnt been serviced in a few years according to the card in it.
This is my second time staying here but my first time staying during Covid. The rooms have individual air units which made me feel very safe. The staff is wearing masks and there is sanitizer in common area. Great location and Can’t beat the price to be on the water!
Very nice grounds and views, great restaurant next door, staff was very friendly. Problems with infrastructure:1. Wireless was out for at least 4 hours the morning we left, we left before it came back on. The front desk said they knew so not sure why it was out so long.2. Requested wake up calls that we never received.3. Very noisy footsteps from people up stairs. The construction of the floors allows a lot of transmission of noise, Id stay on top floor if I ever went back.4. No cell reception for sprint, not sure about other carriers.5. Bathroom faucet wouldnt stay on, had to hold it up with one hand.6. Ran out of hot water both mornings.7. There was a group having a barbecue on the lawn outside our window, wind blew the smoke odor in through the heater/air conditioner unit. That should have been moved out in the parking lot.Id stay in the area again because its very pretty, but dont think Id stay here.

Customer service was horrible my room was not clean even asking the front desk to clean my room it still had not been clean I was there for 2 days I never slept in the bed in fact I slept in my sons room. The elevator started smoking which meant I had to walk down the steps which was difficult for me because I have a bad back. The hotel did shut down the elevator which made it very inconvenient for all of the elderly and people who had health issues We were there for a family function there was not one member of my family who was pleased with this hotel. The hotel is of an age and needs to be remodeled. I do not recommend this hotel
My company hosted trainings here. We were so impressed with the A-1service we received from Shemika, Bob and Jessie. They went above and beyond the normal standard for customer service. Thanks for making our stay WONDERFUL! Every request we made was granted and they even helped to secure catering for our training.The rooms were clean, actually the entire premise was clean. I will definitely return for business and pleasure!THANKS AGAIN!
Not very accommodating. When we were unloading cart, desk personnel stood there and waited while we did and told us we had to return immediately for other guests. She put them next to front doors. No other guests were coming or going. Never asked not offered any assistance for our group needs. Never spoke or greeted daily. Our group will never use that facility again.
Room could of been better. Front desk office staff went out of her way to make it right. Not sure if Id come back, but Id give the front desk person a raise!!
Beautiful location but poorly run. A planned relaxing getaway ruined by disrespectful guests, Loud music, and pot smoking all over the place. Staff ignored it or too scared to do anything about it; regardless it ruined our stay. We won’t be back here and I will not recommend it to my friends and family
The Lodge on Lake Oconee was a pleasant hotel for a small town. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. Pretty simple, but nice and very good to find a nice, clean hotel in a rural area.. However, I booked through Expedia, and paid more than I would have if I had booked directly through the hotel. I would recommend the Lodge, especially if you dont want to book for the required 2-night stay in an Air B&B or if the Ritz is too expensive or is full.
Nice hotel! Have your weekend planned out because it’s not much out there lol. Make sure you ask the hotel who they partner with if you’re interested in renting boats. The company will reserve one for you and have it sent there for you. Breakfast was ok.. you may want to look up places to eat before hand.

Enjoyed my stay here. The furniture in its rooms needs to be refreshed; even so, the staff is super helpful and very courteous. They also understand how to properly process tax empty forms for state employees. Will stay here again.
We have stayed in this hotel more than once and never had a problem before. This time when we got to our room NOTHING worked. The phones didnt even have dial tones. We went to the front desk with our problem and they basically told us they couldnt do anything for us because there was no manager on duty and the maintenance worker wouldnt be there until the morning. They claimed to be completely booked up and couldnt move us to another room. We couldnt get a wake up call because the phone didnt work and we couldnt watch tv or anything. They said it was an electrical problem but the outlets seem to work fine and its only our room. Very dissatisfied!
Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Convenient location. The turn into the place kind of sneaks up on you and the signage is rather small. There is a good restaurant right next door so thats very convenient. Check in was easy and I was able to check in a couple hours before check in time.

To start with 5 stars isnt enough. I want to thank each and every one of you on this team of employees. To say you went above and beyond making our Brantley Co Allstars and family welcome. I arrived Monday evening with my handicapped parents and everyone helped me get them in a great room to helping with the other 4 of us to get unloaded and in our room. Tuesday my brother got married and the staff was amazing helping us. From management to front desk the housekeepers to the sweet sweet lady that kept our boys fed in the mornings to the awesome grounds keeper that asked and wished us luck daily to winning state you guys were hands down the BEST,!!!Thank each of you ladies and gentlemen from Brantley County Georgia bunch we love yall YOU ALL ROCK!!! Cant wait to visit again
Outdated, bathroom was not up to par. Dirty and faucet on tub was loose and very slippery when you stepped in. Only ONE tiny elevator for all the hotel guests.
The location of this place is great -- right on Lake Oconee -- and the rooms are quite nice for the price (cold A/C, clean spaces, Keriug coffee in the lobby, etc)...However, that is where the quality ends.Grandpa always said to never look a gift-horse in the mouth, and while true with many free things, I have to talk about the poor continental breakfast. Eggs were powdery, cereal bins were empty, there was no meat to choose from (not even the hotel sausage patties that are so prevalent at every other hotel), the coffee was weak...I could keep going, but you get the point -- very bad breakfast.The internet in the building was terrible, as many other reviewers have noticed. It drops out, is too slow to use, and in some rooms it just doesnt exist. I used 3-gig of data from the hotspot on my phone, because the hotel data just didnt work. I grabbed a 25 Cat5 cable from me laptop bag to directly connect, and the wired internet just doesnt work, despite the wall-jack label that indicates, High Speed Internet.I hope you dont have any laundry to do during your stay at this hotel. There is a single washer & dryer for the entire 3-story hotel. I was on business, so I needed to do some laundry, and it turned into an all-night activity for one load. By the way, side note: the dryer will take two complete cycles to dry your clothes, so be prepared.The location and rooms cant be beat in this area, especially given the rate, but for everything else, this hotel management has some work to do.Best bet: Skip the breakfast, do laundry somewhere else, and live without your internet connection while here, and youll be just fine.UPDATE 7.15.2016After a second trip to this town and a second stay in this hotel, I did have a better experience. Sure, the WiFi was still worthless, and I didnt try to use the single laundry, but the staff were very courteous, and the breakfast did have some meat options this time (my last trip perhaps they had simply ran out). I bumped my 2-star up to a 3-star because I recently stayed in a 1-star location in another state which was a horrible experience. Using that as my reference, this hotel was not horrible. It could be better, but it was clean and comfortable, and the staff were nice. I guess thats really the main things people are looking for in a hotel.
Great location next to the lake. It has reasonable pricing and they accept pets but the pets arent cheap. The breakfast is a pretty standard hotel breakfast. Our room was very large, modern, and clean.
Delightful! My husband and I enjoyed our stay. The facility was clean and well managed. The staff was pleasant and the amenities provided were over and above what we expected.

I feel like the lodge info online was a little misleading; the photos show docks on the lake with several boats (leading one to believe they have a lot of boats, docks, and land around the lake), when in reality, they have a small, warped dock with a few canoes. Also, the breakfast wasnt the best. Ive stayed at several hotels that offer a complimentary breakfast and this was the first that I couldnt finish eating because of the quality. :( Every staff member we met was friendly at least, which was a plus.
We stayed there one night. Paid cash for the room. Unfortunately there was only enough warm water for one person- So the rest of the family couldnt take showers. The Lodge said since we paid in cash- they wouldnt issue a refund. Pretty bad.
Nice and clean hotel friendly and helpful staff and an awesome restaurant within walking distance. My only complaints I would have is the lake view rooms dont have a very good view of the lake phone service in the hotel was horrible and the wifi wasnt all that great either but overall I would definitely stay here again
I emailed the manager about our stay at the Lodge and never even got a response.My husband and I had booked a room for 2 nights to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. Upon arrival, we realized that the wifi was not working in our room. Anxious to get out and explore the local area before sundown (we are from South FL), we stopped at the front desk and met a very nice young lady (I believe Savannah) and mentioned to her the problem we were having. She promised to look into it while we were out and have them possibly re-start the router.Upon returning, we had dinner at the restaurant next door (which was excellent I might add!) and then went back to our room. Still no wifi. Back downstairs to speak to Savannah. I brought my ipad downstairs and logged in, it was fine. Soon as I went back upstairs to room, it was lost. Back downstairs again. She explained that our room was in a business section and being it was the weekend, that was the likely reason it was not working.Didnt really make much sense to me, but ok. Im not going to make a big deal out of no wi fi. So, in order to map out our day in the area, we sat downstairs in the lobby to print out our driving route.Back upstairs and getting ready for bed, I find a very dark bug shaped like an apple seed crawling across the pillow. Needless to say, Im not pleased. I grabbed the bug in a tissue and went back downstairs to show Savannah. She then explains that yes, sometimes the rooms get them from the air-conditioner vents. She asked me if I wanted to move to another room.Ok, she just explained that you sometimes have this issue. Its 10:30 at night, we have driven almost 4 hours to get there and then we had gone off for another few hours exploring the area and we are tired. Was there any guarantees that we were not going to see a bug in another room? No. Savannah was nice enough to offer a small discount on our bill. I politely thanked her and went back to my room.On the morning of checkout, I brought our bill to the front desk because I didnt see any sort of discount listed. The two ladies at the desk (Debra and Adrea) explained that only a manager could do that. I asked to speak to him and was told that he was not there yet. We wanted to leave early as we had a 4 hour drive back to family I have in GA. I left the counter and went over to the coffee bar in the hallway (very nice by the way!) Standing there making coffee for my husband and I, I hear both of them talking about me and saying if she was so disappointed in the room, why didnt she move to another? I popped my head around the corner and told them that what we chose to do was really none of their business.I went back to making my coffee and they had the audacity to start talking about me again saying well, she could have checked out the following day and found another place to stay if she was so upset with the room. They made out like I was some vulture trying to make a buck on a hotel room for crying out loud. What an insult! I never even asked for a discount. It was offered by one of your employees and I expected it to be honored.My stay there was not the best Ive ever had, but it was made one of the worst by the way I was treated that morning.My husband and I loved the area and we thought it was a quaint little place to stay, but now we will look somewhere else when we visit the area.I hope these ladies will be re-trained on professional behavior while working in the hospitality industry.

I Stayed overnight one night and checked out, left a drawer of items behind. After retrieving the items from the front desk the next day my $1200 cell phone and watch were not in the contents of the bag that they retrieved. I called the manager three times and left three and never received a call back or any type of response from manager.
Absolutely unorganized and unprofessional staff. Completely botched a 20yr class reunion and now I will have to scramble to find another location due to their incompetence. If I could leave zero stars, I would.
The rooms are immanculate clean the beds are nice and comfortable bathrooms are clean the staff is very nice and friendly I would stay at this hotel anytime nice location to good restaurants as well

We stayed there for the Masters and the hotel did a Great job of welcoming everyone. They had Apps every night we were there. The staff was very friendly and room are nice.
Livable conditions but below average still. The fitted bed sheet is too small and there is someone currently vacuuming right outside of my door at 9 in the morning while my family is sleeping. Unacceptable....
These rooms are always clean! I sayStay here occasionally and have never been unhappy. For $10 miter let night you can have a room overlooking the lake.
It was very clean and quiet! They were very nice we came from Florida and they had a cold snap with rainy weather and they let us check in early so we could get dry and change!
Very affordable, good restaurants near by, and right of the highway, very close to Lake Oconee. We spent the night here, and had dinner at Bonefish grill next door. We just walked from the hotels parking lot through Bone fishs parking lot. We then drove about a mile the next day to the Ritz-Carlton and spent the day by the pool and the lake front and had lunch there. Convenience to other places and price will make me go there again for sure.
Great location. I rated it lower because the pool was closed due to Covid19. Kayaks were available to rent $10/1hrs or $20/day

Very quaint and inviting. Had a wonderful weekend getaway. My husband and I had a local fishing guide come right up to the doc there at the hotel to pick us up. It was perfect!

We found a hair in the bed and a used tissue stuffed behind the mattress, while we were changing the sheets. Way over priced. Breakfast was free and decent.

Just minutes away from the city. A better deal than going to the Georgia Mountains. Lakes, nature and entertainment. Lots to do and plenty of places to eat. Family or just a romantic get away. Perfect!
Hotel had everything needed. Room had two queen beds with mini fridge, coffee maker and microwave. Front desk staff was kind when checking in and out.

New hotel in quiet area between Greensboro and Eatonton. Complimentary hot breakfast, wifi, gym, sauna, and outdoor pool. Clean although some furniture was stained.

I celebrated my 13th anniversary and we drove from Atlanta, GA to come here. Very relaxing place, lakefront refreshing, friendly staff and the best restaurant in walking distance.
The rooms smelled and were not clean. The refrigerator had mold and housekeeping did a horrible job. There was old soap scum that was never cleaned in the soap holders in the bathroom.
The lodge was a nice place to stay. It didnt quite meet our expectations but it was clean and the employees friendly.

2022-06-28Reservation made for 5 rooms for a family reunion Price quoted was not the price charged. Price charged was $25.00 higher Per night per room. When the manager was questioned about it, refused to honor the price agreed upon when the reservation was made. A month earlier. Said it was not in the computer, therefore the price was the weekend rate. Judge it for what you want, but a lie is a lie. When you reserve 5 rooms, at a certain price, you expect to receive that price. Would NEVER recommend this place. Also not safe, the side door was propped open with a log for at least a day and night that I saw and too pictures of. Anyone could get in at anytime, day or night.

2022-06-19The suite we were in was nice. The AC worked very well; however the ironing board did not have a cover and the fro t desk was not able to provide one. The freezer part of the refrigerator was frozen with ice and the refrigerator did not get very cold.The breakfast room was hot both mornings and the second morning by 8:30 the juice machine was out of order or the beverage was all gone. I was disappointed in the food service at the lodge.

2022-04-12Cockroaches in our room; side door completely unlocked allowing anyone to access the hotel hallways; I was locked in the bathroom because the door stuck shut; stained and icky furniture.I was charged a no show fee plus the full cost of a second room we reserved but CANCELLED a month prior to our stay. I have the cancellation email to prove it. Shawn, the GM, has yet to reach out to me to discuss the cancel confirmation email and the charge.The only positive to our stay was the friendly staff member, Erica Ross.

2022-02-21Not the best hotel Ive stayed at, but also not the worst. As for the rooms: stains on furniture, dusty all over, missing curtains, rusty bathrooms, poor-fitting sheets. Breakfast was lackluster, even for a free offering. Hard to beat the location though, and the staff was all friendly and efficient.Ill give it another try after the renovations are complete.

2022-04-26We had a wedding in Eatonton and had a block of 20 rooms for our guests at the Lodge. All 20 rooms got booked for Friday-Sunday. On Thursday, we delivered 20 welcome bags that we put together for our guests in the room block. We were promised these would be given to our guests upon check-in. Unfortunately we heard from multiple guests within our block that they didn’t receive them. They missed out on important transportation information that was in the bags, and we wasted a lot of money. If you’re looking for a room block for a wedding or other event, we highly recommend looking elsewhere.

2022-06-30I would love to give this hotel more stars, but we had a lot of difficulty with the management during our stay. We had people in town for a family reunion. My aunt had called to see if we could get a block of rooms for a discounted rate. She spoke with the manager and was told they could accommodate us for a discounted rate. They then completely reneged on that deal when we were present to pay. Additionally, family members with AARP and/or AAA had to argue with the hotel over getting the 10% discount for every night of the 3 night stay. The hotel was only giving the discount on 1 night. Highly unusual practices for a hotel and outright dishonesty on not honoring the block room rate discount. The lodge overall is pretty good. Room was spacious and clean; cleaning staff were available daily. The pool and spa are nice, but there are no umbrellas or any shade in the pool area. The hotel stated all the umbrellas were broken. Some of the lounge chairs were also ripped. Breakfast wasnt much, but there were hot options-microwaveable breakfast sandwiches. No ice machine on the 2nd floor. Nice area to sit by Lake Oconee with a swing chair and area to fish off the shore.

2022-06-04My family and i didnt enjoy the hotel. The carpet was soak n wet by the window i guess from the air. The tub and sink drain was clogged and after complaining it never got fixed! And the door was left open twice on accident because i didnt know i had to slam the door in order for it to close. We had the room for 2 days and when i called the front desk to speak with sean the manager to report the issues and asked for more towels etc be sent to my room it never got delivered so i asked the housekeeper and she said they had a shortage of rags but she did bring me some later and i appreciated her.

2022-04-27A place that once was, that has seen better days and friendlier times.The restaurant on the water front with all the boat docks has closed down,but looks to have been very swank, high end, romantic and a fabulous place to have had dinner inside or out, sitting out on the lawns having cocktails and enjoying music. A place that once was.Was there as a guest of a friend......*
