The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee in Greensboro

It feels like they are trying to get away from a family resort and cater more to adults. For example the infinity pool by Gabby’s is adults only now, and all kids under 16 have to go to the kids pool area. Limited menu at kids pool and you cannot order from Gabby’s or the adult pool menu. Also it’s not open all the time, which is strange given the amount of kids here. Went down to swim and have lunch on 4/18 and no food and beverage. They have limited access to the indoor pool and only allow families from 3-5pm. Finally, no hot tub in kids pool area! On the plus side it’s more much adult friendly now. If you have kids under 16 now, you will be terribly disappointed! It’s as if McDonalds decided to stop selling hamburgers and start slinging pizzas!
I was not impressed. I’m a fan of Ritz Carlton and always appreciate the superior level of customer service people expect when staying at one of their properties. However, I did not receive that same experience this time. The rooms are dated and mine was not very clean. Check in was chaotic. Out of all the hotel staff we encountered, only a few were friendly. Just seemed they were overworked and overwhelmed and we were just a nuisance. For the cost of our short 2-day stay, I would have expected more.I will not be visiting here again.
Sadly been coming here for years with our kids because of the elevated family experience and they have decided to charge even more than before but have made the main focal point of the resort, the infinity pool that overlooks the lake, adults only…sending families that are paying just as much to a cheesy, children’s pool, with no service, terrible food, and very limited hours. Our boys are 11 and 14 and do not belong in an oversized kiddy pool. There are better pools at Marriott’s in Orlando than this one. Incredibly disappointing. Incredibly over heated as well during 85-90 degree weather.Service has been lacking incredibly. Waited 45 min at 5pm for a table at gabby’s when over half the restaurant was empty. Asked for a table with a lake view and was told it was reserved, even though they don’t take reservations, at watched it sit empty for the 2 hours we sat there waiting to get our cold and less than mediocre food. A $250 check for 4 adults and 2 kids topped it off. Will not be back after many years coming as a family.
Went to the Ritz Carlton Lake Oconee for the first time with a couple of gf’s. Grounds are lovely and very peaceful. Total lake life vibe and feels like some beautiful destinations in Wisconsin or Michigan. Had really great food at Gaby’s. Better than Georgia’s. Linger Longer, service was great, steak…I’ve had much better. Most of the service throughout is really subpar and prices, to be expected, very high. Ordered a Casamigos and soda water and she automatically gave me a double for the price of $30 bucks. I’ve never had to ask for drinks to be singles. Especially in a rocks glass. Also, myself and another at my table ordered the exact same drink and somehow were charged two different prices. Very bizarre that none of the pool staff every really knew what was going on. Clearly not enough internal communication. Was told a cabana would be ready around 10-1030. No one waited on us until close to 11:30. And yes, this is rental that cost $500. It is very much advertised as us having a personal attendant, but spent a lot of time looking for our attendant to order food and drinks to typically be nowhere to be found. On the the cabana you are charged and auto 20% gratuity in which I have no issues with gas I actually had service! They could use some help getting their stuff together!!!
Yes, i had a couple issues .. main one was the coffee maker in room. I would have preferred a regular old school coffee maker then this wannabe fancy one. Too much trouble trying to figure out how to make a cup of coffee and then when it turned on it sounded like a tire pump and vibrated so much that it knocked the cup off and the coffee all over the floor.
Enjoyed our stay. The grounds were immaculate and well maintained. The firepits at the lakeside were quaint and served as the backdrop to the proposal. The food offerings were fresh and delicious, the desserts were decadent. We spent the night in a lakeview room with rose petal turndown and champagne. Not a detail was missed. Even ordered room service and tried the brisket pizza which was surprisingly good.
Beautiful facility and well cared for. Staff was amazing at every turn! This Ritz ranks right there with the Amelia Island location in terms of food, staff, location and amenities. Highly recommend. We will return as soon as we can. P.S. Lake View rooms are a must here!
It was an overall mediocre experience. For how much I was paying a night I could’ve stayed at a better four season resorts or an Onsen in Japan or even a night stay at the plaza hotel with butler service. It was the mediocre service that made me question its value. On the positive note, the spa was great (the steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi were all at the right temp). The massage were fantastic, but the facials weren’t the best. The food was ok, breakfast was probably the best meal, I would not splurge on food in this resort.I would not recommend this hotel for romantic getaways but more for family-friendly vacation. Conde-Nast really need to reevaluate their list of hotels.
Excellent overall experience. Beautiful property with excellent pool and lakefront beach. Excellent food by the pool as well; although the drinks were a little disappointing. Breakfast is very good at georgias and dinner was very good at gabys. Excellent spa facilities but definitely on the pricey side as you would expect. Service was excellent all around. The only negative is that there are absolutely no perks even as a platinum elite member but that seems to be the case at most Marriott properties these days. It is what it is at this point.
The overall resort and its amenities were excellent. My wife and I stayed on the Club level with our 13 and 15 year old boys. They were rarely hungry or bored throughout our one week stay. The Club level service was excellent and very consistent…great staff. Food quality was very good. An area of opportunity would be dinner hors d’oeuvres which were often fried. Otherwise, all was very good and provided a strong complement to the menu options at the different outlets. A big bonus were the options included in your room rate such as kayak and paddle board rentals. That provided a sense of value versus the usual nickel and dime approach utilized by most RC properties. Great stay overall!
Everyone was so nice and accommodating It was all exceptionally cleanWe loved going to the club room for our family to gather. The food was delicious. We all loved the coffee machine! The kids had so much fun in the lake with the trampoline, slide etcPlanning on a return trip with the family!
The Ritz at Lake Oconee is our favorite destination! Besides the impeccable service, the hotel offers great dining options, a fabulous spa and beautiful guest rooms. Our children and grandchildren also love to visit! There are so many activities for all day family fun! Between the kayaks, paddle boards, giant water slide and trampoline in the lake and the new amenities of a kids pool and craft/activity building there is no time for being lazy! Oh, did I mention the outdoor basketball, corn hole, football, air hockey and beautiful beach by the lake?We have already booked out next visit!
I spent two nights here with my young children (9,7) and had a wonderful time. The property is well maintained and the staff go above and beyond for the guests. The evening s’mores were a hit! The children’s pool is a lot of fun and not very crowded, unlike the infinity by by Gabbys. We rented bikes and kayaks, and the kids rode the train. Overall, a relaxing and fun trip. My only complaint was the beach area being very crowded, there were never enough chairs or towels. Also, no food or beverage options by the lake. The small green trailer cafe was never open while we were there. I look forward to our next stay at this property!
Amazing few days away at this lovely Ritz on lake oconee. The staff were so friendly and rooms were so clean. Service was excellent. The resort does lack dining options. The steakhouse was closed the days we were there, so you only had Gaby’s. Barrel room had small options so we had to leave the resort to get other food options. We loved the pool! But again the food was from Gaby’s. And wish the garbages around the pool had covers as there were lots of flies and bees. Breakfast at Georgia’s was probably the best food the resort offers. S’mores were a nice touch, pontoon rental was great. Jet ski rental, the girl first said yes it was available then a guy walked up and said all booked but then I looked online on their site and it was available. That’s third party rental even though it’s on site so it felt like these teenagers running that counter didn’t know what was going on. Bike rentals were a nice amenity as well as the kayaks. Overall, would definitely return if additional food options were added.
We learned about The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee from an article in Tennis Magazine. I expected it to be an upscale lake retreat - maybe something that was slow-paced. In fact, I worried that it might be too laid back for the family - that maybe there wouldnt be enough fun activities for the kids to enjoy. I was so very wrong. First, the new family pool is amazing. I read reviews stating that the pool wasnt used (it was never crowded during our stay), but I cant imagine why. We never even set foot at the infinity pool because the family pool was too much fun. Our kids loved the water features and we had space to enjoy playing frisbee and other activities in the pool. Plus, the view of the lake from the family pool is just as nice, if not better, than the view at the other pool. We loved it.Next, the water slide, trampoline, and floating docks in the lake make swimming there better than being at the beach. Im still tired from climbing the slide over and over. Im over 40 years old and enjoyed those toys as much as the kids (though I am aching from it now). Finally, there is so much to do even away from the resort. We played tennis at The Lake Club, went shooting at Sandy Creek Sporting Grounds, enjoyed meals at several local restaurants, and spent the last night of our trip at a Braves game in Atlanta. The only negative I can mention is the food at the resort. There arent enough options. If you dont book a meal at the steakhouse at the same time as you book your room, you probably wont get in. Our lunch at Gabbys was okay, just okay, and it took over an hour to get it. We had room service one night and my wife said the pizza was the best thing she ate at the resort. My son and I have Celiac. The staff was considerate of our needs but there wasnt a substantial menu of offerings. We eventually abandoned the idea of eating at the resort and found local restaurants for our meals. While the food experience was disappointing, everything else made up for it. The staff was friendly, the activities were amazing, the location is fantastic! We will be back.
The Ritz is a beautiful hotel set on the shores of a breathtaking lake with amazing amenities. However, the room we stayed in, ground level near the fire pit, wasn’t as clean as we would have expected. The shower had thick black mold in the bottom corner and a fungus smell. This made us wonder how clean the entire room actually was and if it was properly disinfected. Very unsettling and not what one would expect from such an expensive 5 star resort. We are hoping this issue was unique to our room.
We stayed at this property along with another couple and their family. The property is undoubtedly beautiful and has some great amenities, but is not up to par with service and food/beverage offerings. I completly understand the staffing shortages due to the pandemic, but it is honestly unacceptable for a Ritz-Carlton property. The front desk staff was great, as well as the captain the took us around the lake on a rented boat. Additionally, housekeeping was fantastic and always kept our room refreshed and spotless. However, service was lacking almost everywhere else. At Gabys, we consistently waited 30+ minutes even after flagging down a server to get a drink poolside. We also had to wait an exorbitant amount of time when we waited at the bar to order drinks or food. Other guests also waited with frustration, without even being acknowledged by the bartenders. Waiting that long is really not acceptable at a property like this, but not even being acknowledged is not even something I would expect from a Holiday Inn. This lack of service was encountered consistently for all three days we were there. Again, I understand the staffing shortages, but this seemed to be a training issue as well. The new family pool is a great addition, but I recommend to have more robust offerings at the Splash Shack. $14 for a pre-made half sandwich is a bit absurd. Also, maybe offer something that is not pre-packaged or store-bought. Additionally, many offerings were not on the menu. How are people supposed to order/choose if the menu does not accurately reflect the full food and beverage offerings? Finally, I want to express my frustration with the phone service/operator while staying at the hotel. EVERY time I called the concierge or front desk I was put on hold (which again I understand to an extent) but I was even put on hold mid sentence, TWICE. I tried not to let it bother me, but when checking out and when the front desk requested my vehicle ticket number so my vehicle could be pulled up to the valet, it was no surprise that 20 minutes later the valet attendant verified that a request was not relayed to them. We waited again to finally have the vehicle pulled up.Overall, the property is still beautiful, but management needs to do better to facilitate a return to full capacity and address the lapses in service. This was not a true relaxing Ritz experience and I urge them to make changes to better accommodate future guests.
I could not be more pleased with all aspects of stay. The staff were super professional and helpful. We stayed on the floor level and had an amazing patio with a fireplace. There really is no reason to leave the resort once tu arrive. The drive up is unassuming but once you arrive,, it is simply noteworthy. The only suggestion I have is to add an additional lounge chair on the patio. Shout out to Matt at Gaby’s for being a consummate professional!
The first room we were offered was a mile walk away from everything. Halfway there I turned around to see about getting a better room. Had to throw the Elite Status to get a decent room location and again the next day to get a great location. Never received any recognition of our anniversary. My wife eats that stuff up but was disappointed. Linger Longer steakhouse was the same. Had to ask for a better table and waited 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us once seated. No mention of the special occasion until we were walking out. Another disappointment for the wife. A couple good food offerings at each restaurant on property but limited options for an extended stay unless you like to eat the same thing every day. Beautiful family property though. Been here 3-4 times, but wish we would’ve found it when our son was younger.
This is an excellent resort not too far from ATL airport (90 minutes). The facilities are great, the staff was super nice, the Lake is great. Food is good. Theres so much to do and I didnt even bring my golf clubs. They seem a little understaffed, as are most businesses these days. Saw other guests get rude about it, berating a kind 20 year old hostess, which says more about the guest who didnt make reservations in advance. Waitress/Hostess staff are kids, give them a break! Easy things they could do better; staff the lunch hut on the lake/beach all day, have an attendant down there so the 3rd party jet ski guys arent answering beach questions, and roll out some new basketballs for the nice court. I think closing the infinity pool to kids is a mistake, but the new kids pool looks great. Its more of a splash pad than pool. Will be interesting to see how that plays out.Its a great facility that I have already recommended to others and we look forward to coming back !
Excellent stay. Had a great experience and will definitely come back. The room is average size but very clean and great amenities. The facility is fantastic and very luxurious. The lake side is very nice and the pool is amazing. The service is top notch. You can tell they strive to meet all expectations. I wish there were more restaurant options. There are only 3 restaurants and only 2 were open for dinner. The food is excellent but the options are limited. We went as a couple to rest without kids and it let all our expectations. Will definitely plan to come back.
What a perfect get-away! Lake Oconee is certainly the place to enjoy family, friends, your sweetheart, or even elevate self-love. It could definitely be the ideal business trip, especially to set goal, rebuild and building teamwork. As for me and my husband, it was our perfect romance spot, and his Father’s Day gift. We shut out the world, enjoyed nature, walked in the water, cruised on a classic boat, and ate great food, The staff was superb on every level. We plan to go back, and make it a big family event residing in one of the private cabins.
We came back to Lake Occonee bc of the lake. We had always stayed at a VRBO but this time decided on the Ritz. I couldnt believe how much better our experience was and we already loved the area. The grounds, the staff and the rooms were amazing. We were truly all happy, the people were so friendly and they have the best hospitality around. I would highly recommend. Activities for all, or rest for all, you can find it all! Our family cant wait to come back!
We visited for the first time with our almost six month old son on Father’s Day weekend. We didn’t know what to expect as this was our first time traveling with our baby, and we weren’t sure how family friendly the resort would be. We were pleased to find that everywhere we went, the staff and amenities were very accommodating and welcoming. The staff was friendly and were more than willing to help us. We will be back to visit again in the near future!
My husband and I have been married 6 months and we wanted to get away for the weekend to celebrate. Im so grateful we chose Lake Oconee Ritz Carlton. Our experience at the Ritz Catlton was nothing short of amazing. Most of the staff in the restaurants provided outstanding service and the front desk staff were very helpful. We enjoyed every moment of our trip. We are planning to visit again towards the end of the year. Great job!
Our stay was our first and was so relaxing and enjoyable. The property is incredibly beautiful (rolling hills, lakes, tall pines and lots of emerald fairways) as well as remote, and the staff could not have been more friendly or attentive. Our kids had a blast exploring the pool, grounds and lake and evening fires. It was also nice to see that dogs are welcome too. We hiked some of the many walking trails and visited the spa. The food was especially good (dont miss the P.E.I. mussels) and the poolside beverages and snacks were as well. We had events this trip so we didnt have time to play golf on the 5 courses, but that is on our agenda next time. This is a prefect relaxing Georgia getaway for couples, kids, and golf fans. It looks like it would be a great place to host a special event as well.
Besides the beauty of the resort and lake. This is the cleanest and friendliest staff I have ever encountered in all my travels. Everything is great. It’s the perfect place to spend time with family and friends. We celebrated our sons high school graduation and our sons college graduation and we had an amazing time. We will definitely be back.
This is a great place for families with young children. We took our 21 month grandson and he had the time of his life. I think the food on the children’s menu was excellent especially the fish at Georgia’s. We used the complimentary bikes on two of the days and went along the amazing trails where the views were incredible. The pools were all good especially the children’s pool where we hung out a good bit. The children’s playground and the beach area was really good not to mention the hammocks and the swings. I’m not sure if the Hotel provides sand pales and shovels but if they don’t that would be my only recommendation. We will definitely be back and stay longer. We had a lake view room with a balcony which was very enjoyable to sit out in the evening with our grandson and people watch as well as watch the boats on the water.
Our family had a wonderful weekend at the Ritz Lake Oconee. I booked it a year ago while trying to wrap my brain around the pandemic and wanted something fun for our family to look forward to. I’m glad I did because we had a lovely time getting away from it all. Everyone who works here is extremely helpful and friendly. Justin helped us with bikes and kayaks and was a pleasure to talk to. Our family tried almost every activity and really enjoyed our time at the lake. It’s nice because family members can split up and do their own thing because everything is safe and contained in a manageable area. My only complaints are that someone should check on the No Wake Zone more frequently to make sure the area is clean and well stocked. There were no golf balls for putt putt and someone smashed the only ping pong ball on the last day. Also, the bikes look nice but aren’t very good. The chain came off one of them mid-ride and shifting was difficult. The bike path is extremely hilly so you really need good bikes. The restaurants could also have more varied offerings. Lots of repeats on the menus and not enough sandwiches and pool food items. Very easy fixes that would go a long way to improve the experience.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at the Ritz in Lake Oconee and had a wonderful stay. There were beautiful views, and excellent fitness center, abundant activities and plenty of time to rest and relax. The staff made us feel welcome and cared for. The grounds were well maintained and the equipment available for use was generally excellent.
The service at the Ritz at Lake Oconee used to be great and that’s why We make a trip every year even though it is very expensive. This time, the service was very bad. At the club lounge and at Gaby’s, waiter and waitress just passed me without any attention and I had to approach them to put my orders. I also usually get recognized as marriott bonvoy member status but they didn’t even mention to appreciate being a marriot bonvoy member even though I handed him my Marriott bonvoy brilliant card. I hope things get better so that we can continue using Marriott and go back to Ritz at Lake Oconee since it’s one of my favorite places to go and relax.
Every aspect of our recent weekend was phenomenal. As the staff learned that we were four friends who get together annually but had missed our 2020 trip, they found amazing ways to make our time together even more wonderful, even setting up a completely private table for lunch on the spa patio! The setting is beautiful and relaxing, the restaurants and Barrel Room are terrific, and we only wish wed had more time!
One of our favorite hotels to visit when we have the chance. Beautiful property that feels very unique compared to other Ritz properties weve visited around the Globe. The staff are amazing here, and they continue to do a fantastic job providing a great experience for children. The pool area is great, and all of the restaurants on property do a nice job. The nightly smores by the campfire is always a really cool experience, for adults and kids! The golf courses on property are top-notch, especially when you get to the holes that bring the lake into play. We visited for Easter in 2019 and the brunch was the most incredible spread weve ever seen. Highly recommend this property!
A stay at Reynolds should be great. The facility was top notch but there are is a true lack of people to make the stay wonderful. This location appears to be plagued by staffing, I wish the management would hire more people and potentially offer a more attractive wage to on board and maintain people to help the location. You could tell the location was under booked but still they struggled. I would confirm staffing capabilities before going.
My husband and I were totally surprised by the expanse of Lake Oconee and all it had to offer. We only played golf at two out of five excellent golf courses, but we’ll come again to try the others. The Ritz offered a quiet retreat with all amenities. We even took historic towns surrounding the lake.
We typically visit 2 times a year and absolutely love the the hotel. We have come as a couple and as a family and there is always so much to do and the staff and grounds are amazing. A quick drive from Atlanta and we feel like we are in a completely different place. Can’t wait to go back again!
My family and I had a really nice stay here for 5 nights on points. We got the basic resort view two beds room. Everything was high Ritz quality come to expect in the room. The bathroom has separate tub and shower. The shower could be a bit bigger (3x3). It has a round table with 2 chairs instead of a work desk which we liked. I believe all rooms come with a balcony with 2 chairs. The best part is the Ritz service! There are many activities to do with the resort fee: parking, smores, kayaks and paddle boards, outdoor arcade, single basketball goals, bicycles, adult and kids pool, beach, fitness center and indoor pool. Third party boat rentals, sporting grounds, golf and tennis and many more things to do!
We visited Lake Oconee for a family reunion and the weekend could not have gone better. The property, lake, and golf courses were all picturesque. The staff all around starting at check in to servers, bartenders, drivers, and concierge were friendly and accommodating. The hotel did a fantastic job making us feel safe during Covid, without us feeling like we missed out on anything the location had to offer. Most of all planning a large group event is not the easiest, but the event, banquet, and transportation coordinators were the best I have ever worked with in making our weekend perfect.
This is a beautiful property. Given covid and staffing shortages I am more understanding of the shortfalls, but then discount the hotel price. If I am going to pay Ritz prices, I expect to get Ritz service and this place fell short in many ways. The Linger Longer Steakhouse was wonderful - food and service. The biggest disappointment was in housekeeping who keep hanging up our dirty towels in the bottom of the shower to be used again. Not replenishing the coffee service, bed terribly uncomfortable, and last night the room kept smelling like smoke which was verified by maintenance. As I checked out, I was assured the manager had been made aware of the smoky room and he would reach out to me. We checked out a week ago and no contact. Just a real disappointment as it doesnt live up to the Ritz Carlton image with the exception of the rate you are charged.
Our group came for a golf vacation. We were never told that the courses have very poor drainage and most of the time, including the 5 days we were there, the golf courses were cart paths only. We found the staff very unorganized regarding our stay. The quality of service, amenities, condition of the hotel was extremely below what we know as Ritz Carlton, In fact below Marriott standards as well. Very disappointing.
The RC Reynolds is an incredible property. The service is first class and as a golfer, and my wife who is not so much, We loved our vacation here. There is a great pool, and the food is really delicious at all the restaurants. Oh, and if you are looking for a peloton, they have 2. I highly recommend!
We took our family of 5 for spring break and it was one of our best ever vacations! We didn’t even leave the property for a week, it was like a 5 star summer camp! The staff was amazing and made us feel so welcomed. The grounds are immaculate, clean and so many activities we didn’t even get to them all. The kids are already asking when we can go back. And we absolutely will be back! What a great family vacation! Thank you!!!
The room was lovely. Room service was very slow to clean , There were no food options - Georgia’s was closed and no attempt was made to expand other facilities’ service to make up for it. The food quality was poor. The steakhouse was terrible . My son was double charged for golf and when we told the front desk we were told we had to prove it rather than them substantiating they charges.
We were greeted like family by Jessica, Dane and Keirsten. Meagan made our experience at Gaby’s extra special. Ben provided a lovely evening in the Barrel Room. The gentlemen at the tennis courts always go above and beyond. Our only disappointment was the rigid new guest policy. Hopefully this issue will be resolved prior to our next visits in December. It is important that our local family be able to join us during the day.
As a family we spent Easter weekend at the Ritz, Lake Oconee. The weather was perfect, warm days, cold nights. We enjoyed 2 fireside rooms which was perfect for our group - some privacy and some togetherness. The Babies loved the Easter Eggs in the mornings and the Smores in the evenings. The pool was spectacular and the pool service was even better. Shout out to Isabel, the sweetest, most cheerful, hardest working person i have ever observed. Peyton served us lunch at Gabbys and was so very kind to our kiddos. She suggested ordering their kid food while we tried to decide what to eat. They were served almost immediately and were so happy. The Mac n Cheese was awesome. Cannot wait to come back next year.
This was my first time at The Ritz in Lake Oconee. From the time I arrived Mr. Ray the valet was pleasant. He new me by name before I asked for my car. The rooms were always well stocked. Room service and food were always on time. All the staff were amazing! My grandson had plenty to do from the pool, game room , to basket ball. I will be coming back. Thank You to all the staff and Customer Service that was given to me and my family.
Your resort is just perfect. The kids LOVED all the activities you have. Never heard the “I’m bored”. From the kids pool to the jet skis to the tree swings… you have it all! Personally, my absolute favorite was the tree swing!!! So wish I could have packed that up & taken it home! Ha! Makes you feel young again!!! Thank you & LOVED every minute!!! Plus, your staff is awesome!!!! Love that southern charm!Rhonda
This was such a great experience for my husband and I. It was our first vacation as parents of a one year old and it was exactly what we both needed. Great, safety spaced, dining, clean rooms, spacious outdoor walking, and a relaxing spa treatment made for a great weekend! Georgia’s and Gaby’s truly have some wonderful food. I’d go to both places over Linger Longer Steakhouse though which was good, but not nearly as great as the aforementioned establishments.
We had an amazing weekend getaway for our family. The service was impeccable and there was something to enjoy for all of us -- the spa, golf courses, water sports on the lake, poolside lounging and even hiking and biking trails. This resort had it all. They even arranged a family photoshoot! We didnt want to leave and will definitely be back.
I have staid at this property any number of times. In great Ritz style the facilities, food and staff exemplified the Ritz quality. My only issue was too many small children. I have my own children and love children but it felt a bit like a high end Disney hotel vs classy, luxury, with superior service, most associate the the Ritz Carlton. I will most likely try it again but will consider other properties more adult centric as well.
We went to the Ritz Carlton for a birthday celebration and business gathering. The service was adequate. We ordered room service and the next day the dishes we still present outside the door until the late day. We contacted the hotel in advance and on arrival to let them know we were celebrating a birthday. However, we still needed to call to remind them of the occasion. Once reminded the management sent a nice gift to the room to help celebrate. The management did a great job with the gift and letter. Our room was cleaned however we had to call to request shampoo, shower gel etc be replenished as it was not done with the cleaning. We scheduled a photography session and were not satisfied with the photos or the miscommunication that occurred at the hotel regarding the session. It was agreed upon that we would not pay for unsatisfactory photos, however we were told the owner refused to cancel the contract. Due to difficulties with the equipment we were not able to access all the photos at the hotel. We were only able to see a video which also malfunctioned. We were told by photographer “no worries” he would handle everything. When we finally viewed all the photos, there was a picture that included a woman we did not know, awkward head positioning and settings that were not included. Additionally, there were photos included that had not been edited. Once we left the hotel and wanted to cancel the package due to dissatisfaction and misrepresentation of the product we were to receive, there appears to be no one that is promptly addressing this concern from hotel management.Thank you your time at this lovely resort, but there are definitely areas that can be improved upon.
I cant began to tell you what an amazing stay this was once again. I try and stay here at least once a year and each and every time my stay gets better. The entire staff is amazing, however there are a few people that I truly owe thanks to.Shawanna Evans, please never let her go!!! From start to finish, she made our family stay better than I could have ever expected. She is a gem that I hope never leaves the Ritz!!!Jessica at the front desk, another gem that should never leave.Heath in lost and found, I forgot my phone charger and he took it upon himself to bring me every charger he could find to make sure I could get my phone charged...what customer service is that!!! He was so kind and nice about it which is what made it so amazing. The guys at valet, all of these men are amazing and they remember my family and I each and every time we come visit. My stay is always top notch and amazing and cant wait to visit again in August.
We loved our visit to The Ritz-Carlton, Reynolds Plantation, and were quite impressed with the safety-measure and protocol implemented during Covid. Masks were required while in public indoors, unless when seated having a drink or meal. And with the recent renovation (not sure how long ago), everything looked new and spotless. Having booked through AMEX Fine Hotels & Resorts we were thrilled with our upgrade, early check in and late check out and breakfasts each day. We also enjoyed using the spa credit for massages, which were wonderful. Linger Longer was incredible and we ate dinner there twice. Georgias was perfect for breakfast and we really enjoyed Gabbys by the Lake. Chase was especially hospitable! It was pretty cold during our visit, so we didnt use the outdoor pool, but saw several bold couples taking advantage of the hot tub! We did not use the bikes, but walked the trails every day and even got to play the National Golf Course, which was a lot of fun! Overall, it was a perfect stay and we look forward to our next visit!
Ritz Oconee has such an upscale feel with a family-friendly atmosphere. The kids have so many great activities and amenities at their disposal. As parents, we love getting to make memories with our children as they have the best time. The food, staff, and cleanliness of the Ritz Oconee are next to none! Its why we come back multiple times a year.
Our stay was magical - cozy, elegant, no-fuss. Beautifully manicured grounds with wonderful views and food. The indoor pool and fireside jacuzzi were hidden gems. Book sporting grounds reservations in advance because they fill up quickly. Resist the urge to only stay for two nights. I’m so glad that we added a third. And make sure to rent a pontoon. Those are my three Lake Oconee rules. We’ll definitely return!
We went there just after Mothers Day. The hotel has recently undergone a Renovation and the rooms were great. They are in the process of putting in a while kids complex which will be a great addition and take pressure off the big pool. It was just a short drive outside Atlanta and boy it felt a world away.
This Ritz location is top notch. A little pricey for a weekend getaway, but provides great amenities and service. Their are only a handful of dining options, we would not recommend dinner at Georgia’s and the steakhouse was booked all weekend. So that really only leaves Gabys, which we loved.
Met up this 4th of July weekend with some friends at the Ritz-Carlton, Reynolds Lake Oconee. What a wonderful time we had spending time on the lake, swimming, and enjoying the entertainment. The firework display over the lake was truly amazing and the band was GREAT! Almost felt like I should have had my parrot hat on! :) Will totally go back to this resort again. Family Friendly for certain!
The Ritz Oconee is a wonderful property especially for families! There was so much for the kids to do and in a beautiful surrounding. While we would definitely consider returning, we did have a few issues with service. We received no housekeeping services for the entire 3 day stay despite calling several times. At check out, we waited for about 30 minutes for the desk staff to figure out how to use our Marriott Bonvoy credit, and ended up leaving while they were still working on it. That resulted in the wrong card being charged and the credit not getting applied. The resolution took 2 additional business days along with about 6 phone calls to different people. In the end, it was taken care of, but was an unnecessary hassle.
Overall the Lake Oconee Staff are helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. They really bring out the best, and their willingness to go above and beyond is unmatched in the State of Georgia. The Environment was great also considering that it had rained off and on all weekend and COVID-19. The Smore Pit was fantastic and Georgias breakfast menu was immaculate. If I had one critique it was being let down by the atmosphere and decor of Gabys by the Lake. I felt like I was eating in a seafood-themed Golden Corral rather than a restaurant at the Ritz. Id give that place 3/5 stars and the 3 stars were solely for the staff who do their best to be accommodating. Other than that thank you for the great experience and wonderful weekend.
My wife and I spent a night down at the Lake Oconee Ritz this past Sunday evening. As always, the property was beautiful - both the outside and in the main entrance. The service was great from the valet to the front desk and eventually into the evening. Everything that you would expect from the Ritz. The bartender was above average and helped us with great dinner service. The spa was nice and while expensive, we both enjoyed it.Unfortunately, the room was just okay. The sheets were average at best - the kind where you wake up the next day feeling like you slept in a cotton/sandpaper blend. Little things like the bathroom wallpaper peeling or water stains on the ceiling are by no means deal breakers, but you do expect more staying at a Ritz property.Overall, we will definitely go back in the future. If youve not had lunch at Gabys in the summer, youre definitely missing out.
This is a great location for a spring or summer getaway. We really went to relax so it was okay. The Lake restaurant where we had to have lunch leaves much to be desired as it was cold and drafty though we assume it would be great in the spring or summer. In Room dining was excellent, quick with delicious hot food. Again excellent to relaxation but otherwise not much to do on cold and rainy days that we were there just after VDay.
We chose Ritz-Carlton Lake Oconee as our first travel destination since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. We enjoyed driving to the resort with our family dog. The staff welcomed him (and us) warmly each time we entered the hotel. We loved the miles of paved, undulating walking trails near the hotel. The outdoor amenities helped us enjoy “Covid-safe” activities. Try the hotel’s giant swings, outdoor ping pong, and corn hole! We appreciated the outdoor dining options as our family does not yet feel comfortable dining inside. One downside for our family - the food options. I hope the resort will implement a more modern menu with tasty vegetarian, vegan, and GF options along with traditional food options. I rated this resort a 4 star instead of 5 star because of these dining limitations. I’d enjoy a smoothie bar within the coffee shop that uses real fruit instead of fruit syrups. The GF banana chocolate chip muffins in the coffee shop are yummy! The spa...A+, 10/10, 100% joyful experience! You must find Quan as she is the pedicure guru with almost 20 years of employment history with Ritz! She is a gifted gem. Best pedicure ever! Generally, the front desk staff were excellent and helpful. Many thanks to Matthew who had the yummiest chocolate bonbons delivered to our room as a thoughtful surprise. Chocolate makes everything better and these tasty morsels are heavenly! This has been the most stressful and exhausting year of my 20 year career working in the emergency department facing the pandemic wearing unfamiliar equipment and navigating an unknown disease. I am grateful beyond measure to experience our Lake Oconee Ritz-Carlton reboot. We look forward to our next visit and hope to enjoy one of those fancy ground level rooms with the extended patio and outdoor gas fireplace!
When the Buckhead location was no longer a Ritz, we moved our Go To staycation hotel to this one here at Reynolds plantation. Its a whole different experience but in a good way. There are many more amenities for the kids to enjoy. For the time of year, the outdoor heated pool was still a bit chilly for most of us but we enjoyed our reserved time in the indoor pool. We never could go on bike rides since there didnt seem to be enough bikes for the whole family at any given time but there were other things to do to keep everyone busy and happy. The kids enjoyed the indoor game room. The buffet breakfast in Georgias food was great, but the service could have improved (we had to wait exceptionally long for beverages and plates) but I gave them grace due to the time we arrived (towards the end of the buffet time) and Covid adjustments. We loved having the cafe as an option, but just wished they stocked more of their yummy chocolate croissants since they clearly went faster than most baked goods.
Not the best Ritz resort. Dowdy/old furniture, terrible food. Beautiful grounds but pool, restaurant’s were simply awful. I’m a Titanium member and did not feel that my loyalty status had anything to do with our stay. Also, my preference were not adhered to. I loathe staying too far from an elevator/lobby. Room 366 was at the end of the floor… check-in should advise vacationers in case of bad back, etc.
There were some nice experiences I would expect from a Ritz property, such as great, personal service from Lisa in the Club lounge, Allison and Avery at the pool, and Mary and Mary from Gaby’s restaurant. However, the front desk and front of house service was all out of whack. Checked in online with arrival expected at noon with early room ready request. I actually arrived at 1:30,but no room ready. FD said housekeeping is in the room at that moment, so it shouldn’t be too long. He requested he head up to the club grab a quick lunch, and the room should be ready then. Except the club closed at 2 and our room wasn’t ready by the time we got kicked out. Stopped back by the front desk and a woman working there said that our room is still in the queue, and that they weren’t actually cleaning it at the time the guy told us. I asked when she thought it would be ready, and she told me that she cant tell me anything besides “we cant guarantee anything earlier than 4pm, sorry.” Apparently the housekeeper wasn’t making up our room at the time we checked in an hour earlier… She told us to go hang out at the club and they’ll give us room keys when its ready — but then I told her the club lounge is closed (which she apparently forgot.) My family changed clothes and wandered the property for a little while longer and I finally got the call my room was ready. When I checked back by the desk, I asked for a platinum elite late check out the next day at 4, and the “best he could do” was 1pm, but that I should check with the front desk the next day to see if I could get it extended later. The next morning I stopped by the front desk and asked for a later checkout time so my family had a place to change before we hit the road, and the front desk promptly told me that we could extend our checkout time until NOON. And I told him that they told me 1pm the day before, and he looked surprised. He said they were 100% occupied that night, so he could keep the 1pm. Oddly, the person at the front desk the day before said they weren’t fully occupied the night of our checkout…So I went back to the room and called the bellstand to come and get my bags to put in storage. After 25 minutes of waiting in my room, I tried to call again, but no one answered at the bellstand. It just rang and rang. I waited in my room ANOTHER 15 minutes or so, and no one came. Some great service, and then some not so great. Not what I would expect from a Ritz property.
This place was absolutely amazing. The staff was impeccable. Every member of the staff from Check-in, Bell Service, Housekeeping, Restaurant Services, Bar Services, etc. was attentive to our every needs. My daughter had her wedding at the this facility on March 6th, and we could not have picked a more magical venue for her Wedding Day.
Awesome facility. The staff are friendly and the premise is clean with great amenities. The linen and towels were so white it was unbelievable! As a vegetarian traveler, we are always amazed by the lack of choices at every restaurant in places like this. I understand this is the ‘South’ but do you need bacon in everything? We were at the restaurant (Georgia’s) for dinner - the chef graciously made a pasta dish that was delicious! Thank you. Will return in the Summer bringing our kids and pet along!
Our four day stay at the Ritz Carlton Reynolds Plantation was the perfect way to celebrate our anniversary and a reprieve from a year long pandemic. Our room was perfectly situated at the end of the hall overlooking the lake. Since we weren’t yet willing to venture out for dining, room service was our choice for meals. Service was prompt, portions were plentiful (we could never finish a meal), and food was delicious. Staff were friendly. The only downside of the stay was a man below us who smoked a cigar on his balcony. I learned the Ritz Carlton is not a “smoke free facility” as advertised. Just smoke free environment in rooms.
Our family enjoyed an amazing, fun filled week at the lake ! Thanks to Cathy Lewan, our concierge, we didn’t miss a beat or an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful property and it’s surroundings. From the horseback riding, to the boating, and the off reading side-by-side experience, down to the amazing cottage dining experiences, we couldn’t have asked for a better stay.
Hotel was great as was the spa and restaurants. We highly recommend grabbing a pontoon and exploring the lake. Definitely make a trip to Linger Longer. Christmas decorations were incredible. Everyone that works for the hotel are so friendly and accommodating. The only downside were the workers in the coffee shop. They were rude both times we went in, and on the last day they insinuated that my wife stole a coffee mug that we had brought from home. You can definitely tell that they are not Ritz employees.
In the beginning, everything was nice. Things started going downhill the second day.My wife called the front desk and requested a swim diaper after seeing some out by the pool near the lake. We had reservations at the indoor pool. They said they could not go down and get us one and we’d have to buy an entire pack from the gift shop! After saying we will not do that, they said the spa will have to help you going forward. Once arriving to the spa, they said they had to go down to the other pool and get us one. By the time we got the diaper and our daughter dressed to go swimming 25 minutes of the 1 hour allocated pool time was gone.Later we went to lunch at Gaby’s with friends. We consumed 1 bottle of wine, 2 individual wines, and 4 beers between 6 adults. After lunch, we walked to the bar to have one more cocktail before going on our way, and we were denied service! They said we needed to eat in order to have a drink even though we just ate at the restaurant. From there I went to get my vehicle to run an errand. The valet got my keys and proceeded to do other things instead of getting my car. 10 minutes later, he arrived with the car. No one else was waiting for a car so I don’t see how there could be such a long wait.Upon return, 3 valets sat around chatting and I had to come up to them and tap one on the shoulder to let them know that my keys were in the vehicle. He replied with ok, we’ll get to it!Later that evening, we went to the bar to have a drink (6 hours later). We were coded in the system as the entire party being cut off for 24 hours. Other than embarrassing, I didn’t spend over 3,000 dollars to be treated as if I was at the holiday inn!I have a lake house there and wanted to be spoiled for the weekend. I ended up spending my evening at my own house and coming back to checkout. I was very disturbed in a day where companies should be fighting even harder for my business, I’m pretty sure I won’t be making it back.Lastly, I run my own company on the values of the Ritz Carlton. I would never treat a client close to the way we were treated and may think about changing my names with our office as I want nothing to do with your company right now after this past weekend. I’ll be awaiting a response to see how you all feel about this and am more than happy to discuss the situation more in detail!
We had a pleasant time at this hidden jewel. Everything was outstanding. Food was good. Lots of activities for kids. We loved our room after the upgrade. The only thing that was slightly frustrating was that one of the only three restaurants wasn’t open for dinner the majority of our stay. There are NO feasible options anywhere nearby off of the resort so we ate at Gaby’s every night as a steakhouse wasn’t conducive to dining with children.
I’ve visited this property several times over the years and this time was for my third wedding anniversary and to celebrate the birth of my infant daughter. The service is still top rates although this property is a little too restrictive for the Ritz Carlton brand. For example, they don’t honor platinum member rewards such as late check out and a few other things. When I requested a late check out that was promised to me in an email directly from RC the front desk agent felt the need to inform me that it was a “Ritz Carlton“ and all the things that they don’t do since they were not a city property, etc. I had to inform her thatI was aware of the property that I was staying in and with a brand represents. I’ve stayed at ALL of Marriott top tier properties all over the world including RC and that my needs should be “My Pleasure.” After meeting with the front desk manager my late check out was granted. Other than being too restrictive service was AMAZING!thanksIt is because of my interactions with the following staff that I will return soon:Travis-THE BEST pool attendant PERIOD!Angela- managed entire pool one say by herself and didn’t muss a beatKirstin- nice, willing to please bellman everTamika-went out of her way to help me at dinner with my baby “Taco Tuesday” was even going to help me arrange my fireside dinner that I have been previously discourage from doing another staff memberGloria-kindest most patient housekeeper that I ever metAshlee-Front desk manager of that makes things happenTheosha-spa attendant that made my visit special. Many of these employees have been there for over 10 years or even two decades and that is the one thing this property is got right. Retaining top right employees so the customers like myself will return.
This was our third trip to this property and we love it more each time. The manager Drew , the manager and Jay,at the front desk went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and appreciated. We will definitely be back next holiday season. The fire pits add to the patio was an excellent addition and made it even more magical! We love the lake life!
It a beautiful hotel that is well kept. The hotel staff made me feel welcome from beginning to end. The hotel is set along Lake Oconee which gives a beautiful scenery for water activities. There’s also very nice golf courses to play a few rounds. It’s one of the best hotel in GA to me.
Staff goes above and beyond. First floor room so the kids could run outside, upgraded us to a beautiful lake view. A staff member ran down to our car for us as we arrived late and I had left the baby food bad in the car and I was juggling the four little ones and my husband who struggles to walk. They delivered a crib beyond quickly and even brought a little wipes and diaper cream and baby toys gift bag with it.This is an absolute favorite place of ours to stay we will return many many times to come!
One of our favorite hotels. Spent several nights there celebrating a birthday with family in late July 2020. Hotel renovations look great and they are doing a good job overall with social distancing, reduced capacity for bookings, hand sanitizer everywhere and all employees wearing masks, etc. Masks were not mandatory for guests but we wore them along with the overwhelming majority of other guests. Resort has always had great service overall and is very pet friendly. Lake beach area is expanded some and has service which was a great way to ensure guests could spread out from the pool. Especially great restaurant/bar service from: Morgan (beach rock star), Evonne, David, Emily and Alexis. Cons: Room ready late despite multiple early check-in requests and my wife had coordinated a surprise treat to be in the room on arrival (which didnt happen even after she checked at the front desk again), switchboard / service calls were sometimes unanswered (seemed short-staffed there and with housekeeping --- if you use the Marriott app chat feature response was much quicker). Note for frequent Marriott patrons with higher status, hotel was not doing welcome gifts nor did they have welcome kits for the dogs. Still rate 5 for overall experience.
We have stayed twice now at this hotel and I would go back a third time. I will start with the end of the trip, I had left some items in the hotel room on accident when we left. I get a call from the hotel and they explain that I forgot my laptop! Well... I am an idiot, but now I’m three hours away. I have my kid with me and trying to get her in the car seat is not a blast. As I’m turning around they tell me no worries they will ship the items back to me. I hate to be a pain, but it’s my laptop and I need it and the 7 days they said originally was not going to work. So I said “no I need it and will have to come back”. Without missing a beat, “no sir, we will get it shipped next day air”. Best service ever. They went above and beyond to help me. Now in regard to why I would recommend staying at this location. I like to be comfortable on vacation but... I also enjoy having my family with me including my three year old. Most luxury places do not want me and are honestly not geared towards my three year old. This place is the best of those worlds. I can sneak away and play golf or go to the spa for an hour (my wife as well it’s not all about me ;-). ) Yet there is so much to do as a family. We took walks and my kid ran around the park and played the games they have set up what a blast! I can’t wait to go back and see the new kid pool (2021).
Beautiful property. Unfortunately the service, especially for food and beverage, was sub-optimal amd unbefitting a Ritz. The breakfast restaurant on the lower level—the weakest part of the stay. The wait staff was beyond slow and entrees came out at disparate times. We had to get up and find our server multiple times to get coffee refills etc. We felt that for the premium price we paid to stay together with our general experience at Ritz Carltons around the world it fell far short.
Absolutely beautiful property!. Excellent service, with only a couple minor issues that could have been handled better. The food is good, but if you stay more than a couple of days, you will need to venture off the property for variety. The room was exceptional, we had our own fire pit with a view of the lake and bonfire area. The meatloaf sandwich with pimento cheese and bacon is amazing. We enjoyed ours in the Barrel Room, but it can be ordered elsewhere. The infinity pool has a great view of the lake, and all the fun activities they offer for recreation. The spa was nice, but the salon leaves a lot to be desired. The indoor pool with hot tub and fireplace is paradise! Cant wait to go back!!
As an Ambassador Level Marriott member we have stayed at many different Ritz locations and this is one of our favorites. We have 4 children 15/17/19/21 and they loved it. All of the pool/beach activities were excellent along with the basketball/ping pong/game area, which they used daily. We stayed on the club lounge level and the ability to have food/snacks/drinks all day/night long was excellent for our needs. The hotel itself is beautiful from the lobby, rooms, and property-the views are amazing!! The pool/beach area were clean and very relaxing both day and night. The ability to have paddle boards/kayaks/water bikes to use daily was great and the lake itself is very clean and warm. We were astonished how there were not many bugs anywhere considering it was late July, hot, and we certainly were sweating-no bugs-great!!My wife/I biked daily and the bikes were in great shape for resort bikes especially considered the challenge of the paths, which we loved. The Linger Longer path to the marina was nice but the path the opposite way along the water to see all the beautiful houses was even better-just not marked/mapped out that well. Trust me the hills on the path are certainly a challenge but it is ok to walk your bike up if you need to:)The service and friendliness of the staff was exceptional, which is so common at every Ritz, and we meet so many wonderful people during our week long stay-Thank you to all of you for your excellent service!!We used the driving range with free rental clubs, the video building room all free, and we even went to a very cool dirt bike/ATV venue not far away on our own dime but well worth it. We even ventured to Athens to visit the The University of Georgia, which was very nice to visit.Overall, we loved our experience here and would highly recommend it to anyone with or without children. We will most certainly be back in the near future!!
I recently booked a meeting for my companys executive board here. I have heard nothing but stellar reviews from the attendees. Guest rooms, food, and service were all outstanding. I wish I could take full credit, but our event coordinator, Morgan, made my job incredibly easy. She was responsive and positive, and never once got flustered, despite several 8:00 PM changes for the next day. I HOPE my group decides to have a meeting here again!
I have stayed at the same property when it was under the management of Ritz prior to Marriott taking over. The rates appear to be mostly the same but the quality of service has changed significantly for the worse1. Front desk: Significantly under informed about the property . For a frequent flyer like me, this wouldnt really matter as I know this property inside out but while I was there, I had an irate customer tell the front desk personnel that he gave them wrong directions. Even to me, the front desk person clearly admitted that hes knew and I probably know the property better than him. Phone calls to the front desk also used to be absolutely prompt but now the tone and service are significantly worse. 2. In room dining: personnel there are significantly less helpful for dietary restrictions as well as their tone is that of a standard take out restaurant where they just want to get the call over with. 3. Spa: Significant drop-off in service quality. One of the hallmarks of a Ritz property was the personnel are almost invisible yet you had amazing service. The spa personnel were loud in their conversation and constantly kept walking up and down the Male locker rooms. They were certainly helpful then I asked them for things I needed But they really need to cut down the activity and stay in the background. Post massage experience as a result was very below average. Front desk for spa was clearly trying to sell me the most expensive product despite not being recommended by the besides therapist. Very annoying. 4. Room service: prior to Marriott taking over one of the hallmarks of a Ritz property was that you will never see a cleaning cart in the corridor more than once or utmost twice in a day but now there is permanently a cleaning cart and cleaning lady all the time despite less service in the rooms than before. Despite requesting late service, this was not communicated to the cleaning staff who kept knocking on the door asking when we would be leaving. 5. Concierge was significantly less helpful than many years ago when they used to go two utmost lengths to schedule tennis lessons and ball machine setup. I was simply given a phone number to call as they were closed for the day. This was never the case before Marriott took over. I sincerely hope the service improves as it continues to remain my familys No:1 getaway due to amazing views, restaurants, tennis and location.
Very nice overall. Friendly staff. Very clean. Food was just OK. Gaby’s dinner was awful. Linger Longer better. Georgia’s for breakfast also poor. Great property! But very disappointing food quality. Surprising given rates, but clearly it’s a sellers market these days.
All good except for food/dining options need to accommodate capacity. And the hotel should put up signs at the pool on the chair policy. If you leave your chairs empty for more than hour they will be taken. That would resolve conflicts at the pool and your staff should not have to deal with that.
I’m here now for 5 nights. I have stayed at several Ritz Carltons over the years. I have to be honest, this place is nothing more than a generic Marriott property. Definitely not Ritz quality. I’m super surprised, and disappointed (bc it’s very expensive to stay here...$650/night along with a $53 resort fee). The rooms are tiny and not impressive. The walls are paper thin and a baby crying next door woke me up at 5am (not fun when on vacation) and dogs barking (yes, DOGS!). The linens are shredding from age. I had to clean my sink due to grime being left. The curtains are falling down, the valet could have gotten me ice or even put my heavy suitcase on the stand, the only place to “lounge” is the small beach and the one small pool, but it’s full of kids. I love kids but I came to get a break from my kids (and my dog)! I did hear they were building a new kids pool. Im just super bummed that my one chance to get away (paying a sitter, etc) is this. :(
The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds at Lake Oconee is a beautiful property close enough to Atlanta but far enough to leave the city behind. They have a professional staff with southern charm. I stay there every year as a Mother’s Day Getaway and look forward to it all year. This year I stayed in one of their new fireside rooms with a lake view and it was just incredible. Already looking forward to next year.
We had a very pleasant experience with our family of 5. We upgraded to a suite, because we needed the extra space. Staff is very friendly and the property is very family oriented. The activities were also great. I would be great if some of the activities were open a bit earlier. I liked to take my kids fishing, but had to wait until 9am. The fireworks and music on sundays is great. We were not overly impressed with the food on the Sunday cookout, but the service was great!
My husband and I got married at the Ritz Carlton- Lake Oconee in 2018 and recently came back for our 3rd anniversary. They really went above and beyond to make us feel special. It was a wonderful trip and we could not have asked for better memories. Thank you Ritz Carlton!
This is a beautiful facility, but the service was not good. I paid to stay at the Ritz Carlton because they are known for their quality service. This location did not live up to the price tag. We had several bad experiences. The reason given was always that they help was new and not trained up yet. My advice would be to pay the staff better so you can keep them around longer to gain the experience that is expected from a quality hotel.
We were welcomed with friendly smiles and assistance. Check in was fast and all questions answered. Interior and exterior was beautiful and clean and inviting. Beds were like sleeping on a cloud. Cleaning staff was friendly and accommodating. Room service was fast both nights. The pizza was a little burnt on the bottom but still tasted great. Gabys was a little off the man host was amazing. He was friendly and accommodating for where we wanted to sit and fixed the issues we had with the service. We felt like no one server was assigned to our table and when we asked for something or voiced that our fries were cold they were not taken care of. There were about 4 or 5 different different servers taking care of us and not communicating. We never got new fries and they were not fit to eat. The burger was over cooked but still had good flavor. The calamari was delicious and the fish tacos were fantastic. Never received the drinks we ordered. The host did take care of all this for us and spoke with his manager.
The resort was amazing! One of the best spa treatments Ive ever had. The restaurants were top notch, and even the room service was great! The bars made the drinks were made perfect... no over pouring. The resort grounds were awesome... stuff for adult and families. Only complaint was the dogs barking all night!!! Second night was better, but could still hear one. I think if owners cannot get their dogs under control, then they need to leave.
I always look forward to my visits to the Ritz @ Lake Oconee but this visit was even more special since it was the first time seeing family in over a year. Staying here is an pleasurable experience and not just a hotel stay from the rooms, to the food, to the superior service.
My stay at The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee was superb. After traveling and needing some quiet time to gather myself and rest comfortably, the staff provided me with great southern hospitality. My luggage was stored while I waited in the comfort of the lounge area (great atmosphere) for my room to become available. I was texted and checked on regularly. This property and staff was outstanding and I truly enjoyed my stay. Everything from the hospitality of the staff, the comfort of the room, the food and the courteous turn down service. I will definitely return and invite others to do so as well.
From the moment we arrived on property for a 3-day conference, we experienced the outstanding Ritz-Carlton experience. Dining options were superb and the staff made it easy to relax and get our work done at our conference. The Gold Standard statement is true - Ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen.
Ritz Carlton in name only. This was SUCH a disappointing stay. I understand its COVID and all, but you have to remember that the bill still came out to over $1000 for one night.Where to begin? The hotel just looks tired. Its in dire need of a face lift. Some examples that come to mind include the mens spa area - chipped tiles, broken sauna, and plaque / grit build up on the tiles in the spa itself. Not a place I felt like I could relax. The rooms are pretty similar. Theres a sense of comfort on arrival but once you take a moment to look around and you can see missing tiles, bad paint, poorly draining sinks. The food is also so ordinary for a Ritz Carlton. I ate at the lakeside establishment, Gabys I think its called, and felt Id get better (and cheaper) options at a roadside food court. Ditto for the breakfast options in the other restaurant the next morning: My take away was they served stodgy, unbalanced, outdated and unappealing food options that cost dearly. My one, solitary bright spot were the staff. I sincerely think they live up to the Ritz Carlton name in terms of service and friendliness. Everything else was incredibly disappointing.
Simply beautiful! This hotel nestled by the lake is so serene and provides such quietness and privacy. The perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. The views of the lake are stunning as well as the infinity pool that has the illusion of cascading into the lake. Love the man made beach area. Rooms are very spacious and cozy. The staff and service are both amazing! Looking forward to returning..
I LOVE this Resort outside of Atlanta. I was here for work but was able to squeeze in a little family time to celebrate my sons birthday. The staff at Georgias went above and beyond to make his day extra special from a apple cider toast at the beginning of the meal to a birthday ice cream (his favorite) for dessert. It was a GREAT evening! I travel a lot for work but coming to this resort feels like family and their NEW ROOMS are beautiful!! I would highly recommend this resort for families or business!!! Cant wait to come back in the summer to swim in the lake!
Beautiful location, wonderful staff, and great food! The rooms are clean, the bathrooms are beautiful, and the hotel has a lot of fun activities for kids and adults. The food is always excellent (though Club food menu hasnt changed in some time, which is nice on one hand, but something new would also be welcomed), the staff is always friendly, the Spa is incredibly relaxing even if you do not have a service booked, both pools are well stocked with towels (even outside in the winter), and the grounds are clean and beautiful. This hotel is family friendly, not adults only, which is wonderful. Ive read some peoples feedback that expressed frustration with seeing children around, so sad. The grounds are large enough that you can find a place without kids or pets if you want to be completely alone. Over the years we have come to this location as a getaway for my husband and I, or as a family trip with both of our kids, and we always leave relaxed and happy. The staff works hard at making the stay comfortable and relaxing, weve never had an issue with someone being rude or unwilling to help. We cannot wait to come back in a few months!
Amazing vacay for our family, fishing, kayacking, jet skis, tubing, great infinity pool dexk and great food at Linger Longer.Only issue is reserving a chair at the pool deck, if you decide to do Ritz sponsored water sports with your kids because they cant go alone, when you come back, all of your items will be removed and apparently there is nothing they can do about that. Then we had to wait an hour and a half for other chairs to come available even though we informed the pool deck staff before we left of where we were going, paid a cash tip, and let them know that Ritz imposed a 2hr minimum on the watee sports. Disappointing and chaotic with a family of 6.
A hidden gem in south central Georgia. Beautiful lake setting with lots of amenities for all ages. And then there are the 6 wonderful golf courses. My only knock on this property is the F&B service. It can be slow at times. Staffing is an issue, Im sure, but they need to figure it out.
Okay so I gave this ritz location 3 stars , the stars just representing the beautiful scenery and all the cool things you can do there . I did everything ! From boating to spa to the pool the bar . The executive room there is beautiful I loved being able to walk out to the lake from my room and the fire pit made it perfect for late summer nights . I went late July to celebrate my birthday . I am just now writing this because this experience discouraged me from going to ritz but after my stay at ritz bachelor gulch in CO and ritz in Naples FL I realized it was just this location . So upon arrival I was charged for my full stay and my card didn’t go through because my bank doesn’t allow me to spend more than 3k a day and I honestly don’t know any other 26 year olds with a lot of spending margin . So I asked them if I could just split the payments daily because I already reserved a lot of activities which they agreed to . I felt my entire stay I was being overly spoken to , I didn’t feel like I could come and go from the hotel without speculation that I was leaving . My stay was for 4 days so I didn’t understand why I would be asked if I was checking out and I’m not even carrying luggage . Then there was a golfing activity that they charged me for the whole group and none of us made it , I basically canceled it the same day because that was scheduled for the first day but everyone didn’t make it in town yet so it was pointless to golf alone . Then when I was checking out they didn’t give me the keys to my bmw because the front desk wanted to make sure my payment for my last day went through before letting me leave . Way to ruin me , like why do that , I have never been asked to do such a humiliating thing at any hotel or resort . Especially one I’m spending nearly 10 grand at . I love lake oconee so I’m sure I’ll be back I just know this time I’ll be prepared to be mistreated or looked at like I might flee and I certainly won’t celebrate anything there .
The Ritz Carlton at Reynolds Plantation is a delightful place for families to gather. We had so much fun last summer that our daughters and son-in-law were thrilled when we asked if theyd like to go again this summer. Were delighted to say that our second visit was every bit as fun as our first! We highly recommend treating yourselves to the luxury of the Club Level. The Club Lounge Staff are delightful and go the extra mile to make sure you are having a wonderful time. If youre there with your family we also recommend taking advantage of the In House Photographer. Their fees are rather high, but we are so very happy with the photos we have now--great memories from a great weekend!
Not the ritz Carlton experience as compared to other properties. Room was just ok. Checked our credit card and discovered we had been billed twice. Hotel wouldn’t refund their error and told us to challenge the charge through our credit card company. Many phone calls and lost of time.
This was our 4th year for our Summer Vacation to this Property from Florida. I cannot tell you how wonderful this resort is. From the family friendly activities, relaxing pool, Lake fun, Hammocks, Kayaks, Paddleboards, Bike trails, to just sitting on porch gazing at the lake. It is a perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of our busy life to just enjoy beautiful peaceful scenery. Staff go above and beyond to make everyone feel so welcome and you feel like everyone has that special southern hospitality like no other Ritz Property. Restaurants were all wonderful as well. We upgraded to Club Level which was well worth it----great breakfast, lunch, snacks, appetizers before dinner, and dessert as well! Oh and you cant forget the drinks!! Well worth the money!! We cannot wait for next year as our family loves it here!!
Awesome experience! This place is so relaxing! The lake views are phenomenal. My single issue was the A/C in the room. Despite the cost of the room the thermostat is regulated in away that the 2 separate times I have stayed here I wake up to no air conditioning. It is either on a timer or motion sensors. Perhaps I was more relaxed because I was exhausted from waking up each night! 😂
Great place! Quiet and plenty to do at the hotel. Wish we were able to explore the grounds however, as it rained the 2 days we were there. Kid friendly with things for them to do as well as for adults! Service was great and accommodating! Only slip up was on mothers day morning, had room service breakfast and they forgot an order of pancakes but didnt forget to charge me. They did get me the pancakes in a timely manner after I called.
Had an amazing stay! I loved my room with a fireplace and the beds are so comfortable. There are a lot of fun amenities and a nice Infiniti pool overlooking the lake. Jessica and Matthew at the front desk were so friendly and accommodating as well as Alexis at Gabbys restaurant.
The Ritz Carlton Reynolds is by far the best hotel we have ever stayed in. From the warm welcome when pulling up to the hotel, to the restaurant wait staff, housekeeping, and amenities everything was top notch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return next year for our conference.
We had an incredible 3 night Getaway at the Ritz-Carlton Lake Oconee. There were se many people that made our vacation exceptional. We had a dinner at Linger-Longer Steakhouse & Monica made our Anniversary dinner extra special. Our first day on the lake was great Thanks to Jack. Dinner at Gabys tonight was fun... thanks to Michael & Meagan... So kind & Great Service. Dexter helped us at the Dock with our Kayaks & I wish I got the name of the extremely sweet woman that helped us in the morning at Starbucks. She was great! All around fabulous!
Staying at the Ritz Carlton at Lake Oconee is truly a wonderful experience. The hotel is warm and welcoming and blends in nicely with the surroundings at Lake Oconee. From the time you check in and are greeted by the valets and front desk to the time you leave, you are treated like royalty. The rooms are nicely appointed with comfortable beds, beautiful views and all of the amenities you could need to make your stay special. The options for dining are wonderful with delicious by the lake/pool dining at Gabys to a more upscale experience at Linger Longer. Choices are plentiful and if there is something that you would like that isnt on the menu, the servers are glad to make suggestions to accommodate your tastes. The Ritz has done a fabulous job of staffing the hotel in all areas to make its guests feel very special. I look forward to my next visit.
Grade A ! Every room onsite has been renovated, The Ritz Kidz activities building, game room and Pool are finished, (Kidz pool closed for winter.) just an all around nice place. They have an Ice skating rink open for the holiday season! Dont forget to eat at Gabys or the Longer longer steak house!
This was a wonderful trip. The resort is beautiful and very well maintained. The rooms are beautiful, the beds are most comfortable, food is delicious, activities endless, etc. It is like the loveliest and most luxurious summer camp for adults. We needed rest and relaxation and this was a happy, relaxing and quiet space. The staff could not be nicer and more accommodating. Simply a perfect place! We will definitely come back for another visit!
We had a wonderful time at the Ritz Carlton Reynolds. Everything from the staff to room and food were excellent. We experienced the Linger Longer Steakhouse our first night and the food was incredible. My wife was so excited that they had Halibut on the menu. Breakfast at Georgias was a wonderful experience as well. Great food and friendly staff. We enjoyed the fire pit one night and the opportunity to meet and talk with other guests at the resort. The only regret I have is that we did not stay longer. We will definitely be back next year to celebrate. Thank you for a great experience.
I stayed with my family at ritz for a weekend...my expectation was so high but what I find is just a basic overpriced hotel with lot of staff..infact tooo many...Staff is so nice but the facility should have been better...you pay for luxury but you get basic ...All I got was bragging right that I stayed in ritz...
My eight year old daughter and I took a trip to the resort to avoid the winter storm. Everyone at the resort showed us genuine care and made us feel at home. We loved being able to ice skate and use the indoor pool each day. The Club Lounge was such a nice touch and well worth it. The puppy/dog program is so unique and my daughter was there for both times each day. Finn and Skye are the cutest puppies! The Steak House was our favorite as well, my daughter loved the sweet touch of the cotton candy - for sure a unexpressed gift. The resort is so beautiful during the holidays and most of all because of the staff truly caring about our stay. We even extended our stay by another night to enjoy the trip.
We just spent two nights at the Reynolds Plantation and I will definitely come back. The property is very pretty with a beautiful golf course, pool, lake and spa all right there. Although the rooms are a little dated now, my understanding is that they are doing a total renovation soon. Some of the rooms have already been updated so personally I would ask for an updated room if you are going soon.I took advantage of the spa( not the most luxurious spa but certainly adequate) , fitness center , golf course and lake activities. The pool is really pretty and I love the outdoor bar areas as well. There is really something for everyone here. They also have a fun area with playground, basketball, ping pong table, cornhole, fooseball , etc.The food here is outstanding. We ate at linger longer both nights and had a great meal both times. Breakfast and lunch were equally as good.Drinks were excellent, service across the board was on point. If the property was not going to do renovations I would have given it 4 stars. But since renovations are underway, most definitely 5 stars.
I had a meeting at the resort (lots of golfers in our group). My wheelchair bound wife accompanied me. Her special needs were met with great courtesy and patience. Our meeting areas were quite nice. This meeting usually travels around the state but will be here again next year, as all were very happy with how they were treated. Well done.
I was in and out for a business convention. Unfortunately I did not take vacation time to spend an extra day or two there, as I was not aware of how nice the property was. I should have. The property is beautiful and well kept. The weather was nice, the views and pathways are well kept (bike trails could be marked better as the property is so large), the indoor and outdoor pools beautiful, and much more. Away from the city, but a great location for a getaway.
We love this resort. Beautiful lodge on a large lake. Infinity pool is perfectly centered over the lake. Great rooms and service. Upscale food and bars and lots of things to do on this property. Weather here in February happened to be perfect pool weather. Might be too hot at times in July-Aug, but otherwise this Ritz is a hidden gem. LOTS of golf options and boating options on the lake too.ADDED 2018: Went here for their Christmas events. Amazing decorations and events... ice skating, breakfast with Santa, gingerbread house workshop for kids... LOTS for kids and adults in December. Awesome get away for families.
This resort is situated in a way that you feel like you are completely removed from the hustle and bustle of daily life, but its also conveniently located close to I20. I love the atmosphere here and the fact that there are plenty of dining options on the property, along with a spa, that allow you to truly relax. (While I appreciate a family-friendly resort, our only frustration was with children in the bar areas. There are signs stating 18+, but parents disregard and the Ritz staff does not enforce. There are plenty of family areas--all restaurants, pool, smores pit, live music OUTSIDE the Barrel Room, etc.) The rooms are comfortable, clean, and spacious. The customer service throughout the resort is refreshing!! Everything you need for time away is all right here!!
Stayed at the Ritz-Carlton for a work event and the Lake Oconee property is the perfect combination of luxury and family-friendly amenities. While I was not traveling with my children, I am already looking for an opportunity to bring my family to the Ritz to enjoy all that they have to offer. The drive from ATL was effortless and the grounds were lovely. Check-in was friendly and fast. The room was impeccable with a lovely, wooded view. I truly appreciate all of the complimentary bottles of water in the room - there is nothing worse than having to search for water or, even worse, pay for the minibar water. My only recommendation is to provide guests with wifi access information in the room or upon check-in. I had to call the Front Desk to confirm the process prior to connecting. Please make sure to take a few moments at the lobby bar and pool side bar. There is nothing like enjoying a nice adult beverage with a view of the lake.
The staff at The Ritz made our mini honeymoon stay absolutely wonderful. The complimentary champagne was a nice surprise to enjoy on our lake-View balcony! Each staff member was so incredibly friendly & attentive to our every need! The room service dinner was delicious & served in a timely manner and the breakfast at Georgia’s was wonderful as well. We will most definitely be back for our anniversary!
First visit to this lovely location. Start of by sharing that the aesthetics of the property is very welcoming. You will want to just relax and enjoy all the amenities that are right in front of you, from the amazing infinity pool, to the hammocks and swings strewn about the property. As you would expect from the Ritz-Carlton, the room was delightful. Everything up to date and fully operational. Careful though put into details of the bathroom layout to the quietness of the AC.Dining was a special treat for us. My family has very extreme food allergies and the list is lengthy. Both the business planned dinner on the lawn that was buffet and the on-site restaurants made excellent meals for my son that posed no allergy risk. This was by no means a simple feat due to our complexity of allergens. Kudos to the staff for taking this in stride and making it such a success.Look forward to the next visit!
The service and views were spectacular. We spent most of our time around the pool or the lake, which offer great views, full restaurant and bar service, and free use of non-motorized water equipment. Near the beach is also an assortment of games, like ping pong and Cornhole. In the evening, they have free smores. Our two young boys and both parents had a great time. All that said, its very expensive. But they let you come earlier and leave later than the check in and out time for your room.
We had a lovely time. Would recommend that if you book the chiminea dining experience ask to be as far away from the dock as you can. Overall it was a great couples get away, never felt too crowded or noisy even though it was mid summer and surely close to fully booked. Cant wait to return with my son in tow as there was a lot for children to do.
Having to stay out of town is a hassle. However, Ritz-Carlton made my three day work adventure. Easier and worth the time away from home. From the first class room to the pool, spa and work out facility. The staff was impeccable! Also, the facility was super clean with a scent of nostalgia. That made me feel at ease and very comfortable. Every amenitiy possible. A worthy stay!
Couldn’t recommend this hotel more. Beautiful surroundings and facilities. Staff are super friendly and attentive and they are very cautious with cleanliness and procedures during COVID. Extremely kid friendly so will be back next time with the whole family. Our only feedback would be to lose the cheesy 80s/90s music by the pool.
After years of wanting to come but not being able to afford it we bit the Bullet and spent $1,000.00 per night for club level room with a lake view. Club level means food and drink included at the private club on the fifth floor, where you cant select the fifth floor without a fifth floor room key. Brand name alcohol all day as well. (Johnnie Walker Black was offered for my husband)The food and service at the club was excellent. After each employee asked where we were from we felt like each were programmed to say the same things to each guest, a bit creepy and disingenuous. While we enjoyed the club level, the pool, the lake and all of the activities I feel the rooms are due for renovation.None of the beds are new or comfortable, the roll away mattress we ordered for our son squeaked each time he moved and he felt the mattress coils all night. My husband met a cockroach at 1 am in the bathroom and that was the end of sleep for him! (That was after they moved us to a suite!!)The first room had the shower inside the tub, in 2017 with what they charge for a room its time to upgrade!!The staff is extremely helpful and remembered our names and that was really nice.We went to Gabys for supper one night and couldnt find our server ever.Overall I doubt wed go back to this property or to a Ritz Carlton again, too much competition in this price range of hotels that wed try instead.
We stayed on the Club Level in a suite that was fit for a queen! The elegant lodge decor and the comfort of the furnishings was luxurious. The staff, upon arrival, welcomed us and greeted us by name during our entire stay. The food and beverage in The Ritz Carlton club was superb. The grounds are immaculate and the property has extremely nice amenities including a stunning infinity pool. The Spa ranks as the best ever for me.Treat yourself to a trip to this gorgeous resort! You will be very pleased. Promise!
Spent a few days at the Ritz and what a wonderful and comfortable stay with my lovely wife. Service was impeccable from the minute we arrived to the moment we left. Enjoyed breakfast at Georgias both days and my wife ate a nice lunch at Gabys while I was at Kingdom of Golf. She also had a facial and deep tissue massage at the Spa while I played golf at Great Waters. The gentlemen outside took great care of my golf clubs, and our baggage when we arrived and departed. Everything is top notch at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Ritz Carlton, that overlooks the lake. Smores by the firepit in the evening is always fun. Whenever we come to play golf we always stay here. It is one of our favorite hotels.
This resort is beautiful, but it has definitely gone downhill over the past few years. We used to love going here and the customer service was always fantastic and reliable, however, recently the customer service has been slacking and inconsistent with the expectations of staying at a Ritz-Carlton. Its missing the special treatment and happy to serve you attitude that they were once well-known for.
I can’t recommend this resort highly enough! It’s very beautiful, the staff could not be nicer. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. I highly recommend a room with a view of the lake. The pool area is excellent with a very efficient poolside staff. They have all kinds of watercraft to play with. The food at all of the restaurants is very good. ( We only ate at Georgia’s and Gaby’s. Great burgers!) You can come here, and never leave the property. Why would you want to? Everything you need is here.

2022-03-05Amazing, amazing, amazing. Not only is this Ritz gorgeous, but the service is outstanding. Every member of the staff that we interacted with was extremely friendly and helpful. There was never any annoyance or dismissive responses to a plethora of questions and requests. The grounds are exceptional and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The spa is luxurious and the providers really know what they’re doing. Highly recommend the lake view fireside rooms. Great food also - we never left the resort because they had everything we needed. While everything about the resort itself is fantastic, the staff is what makes this the perfect spot.

2022-01-12Absolutely incredible resort and grounds. I’ve been 4 times and it somehow continues to get better each time. In the summer it is more family oriented, but on off seasons it’s very couple/solo traveler friendly. The food is always amazing, particularly at the Linger Longer Steakhouse. Tons of trails and things to do outdoors. The pools are incredible, and the spa is great as well. Rooms have been recently renovated and are very beautiful and the beds are little clouds of amazing. My only gripe is that they have an incredible indoor lap pool that’s right next to the 24 hour fitness center, but the indoor pool closes ridiculously early (6p) and there doesn’t seem to be any sensible reason why it would close when the fitness center - literally one door down - is open 24 hours and the outdoor pool is 24 hours. Seems entirely pointless and prevents use of one of the nicest amenities. Would love to see that changed. But overall, definitely a 5 star place to stay and spend time.

2022-04-11Exceptional experience 5*****. We came here for spring break 2022 and wow this property is absolutely beautiful. It is a quick getaway from where we live. The lake is impeccable. The service is stellar. Everybody is so friendly and they don’t just say hi they actually have a conversation that’s meaningful. I have been to a lot of Ritz Carlton‘s all over the world, and I have to say I think this one is the best thank you for making our trip wonderful and enjoyable. We will definitely be back.

2021-12-19It’s been two years since we started and I still think about my getaway here. It popped up on my memories and I realized I never left a review even though I always meant to. Everything and everyone was amazing. We stayed in December 2019 and it was magical. The rose turndown service with chilled champagne was something out of a Christmas Hallmark movie, it was so perfect. The grounds were well maintained and beautiful even in the middle of winter. The staff was so welcoming and helpful. Like I said, it was two years old and I’m still thinking about how great it was. I don’t live near there anymore, but I may make the trip just to stay at this property. It is so worth it.

2021-12-30Beautiful hotel sitting right on the lake. The view is great, the spa is even better, and the overall feel of the property is very relaxing. The property is on the older side and could use a bit of an upgrade.Overall very cozy and at home vibe that you dont want to pass up. Highly recommend.

2022-06-21Beautiful hotel, beautiful rooms with outdoor patios meticulously furnished. Beautiful cottages, beautiful area, with stunning views of Lake Oconee. Great food in several of the restaurants. Excellent staff — very personable and professional. I could wander🚶🏾♀️around the place for weeks. Lots to see and do. Great hotel (feels more like a resort to me), for family getaways and very family focused, oriented. Happy kids running around everywhere — business too. The list is way too long y’all. I’m sure I’m missing something. This #Marriott property Rocks at Lake Oconee.❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🚴🏾♀️🥾🛍🛳 🏌️♂️🚣♀️🏃♂️🧘🏋️♂️⛳️🤸♀️🎣🏊🏽♀️🤿 🛶🛥🍷🍺☕️🍸🍹🥞🍴🥪🧆🍾🍕🍤🍲❤️

2021-12-26Beautiful grounds, excellent service, and a lot of activities for families. I wish Id known about this place years ago. Its a true resort with amenities galore. Every aspect of the resort was thought out with great detail. A true gem in Georgia. Well worth the short drive from Atlanta metro. Well most certainly be back...

2022-06-15This does not live up to our expectations of Ritz Carlton - for the exorbitant price of the room, I expected at minimum , coffee in the morning . Going to the small shop downstairs paying 15 dollars for 2 coffees , not to mention the packaged muffin that was uneatable. Then to walk out to drink our coffee in the lobby , & see a guest with his Bare feet up on the lobby table was disgusting. ( guess he thought he was in his own living room ) Not one of the 16 year old managers came over to correct him . I understand there has been a shortage in staff all around however , maybe some training would help . Though the property itself was nice , We didn’t even attempt to go in the pool, as it was too crowded . It was appalling to us that you tact on a 57 dollar a/ day ‘ resort charge ‘ - I can’t emphasize enough , the small size of this room - So call this Courtyard by Marriott , lower your your prices ,& move “Ritz Carlton Real Estate elsewhere.

2022-04-19After coming here for many years, we have decided that is just isnt for our family anymore. They have made the main pool ADULTS ONLY and I dont care anything about sitting at a much smaller, no service kid pool for $800 a night. If you a solo traveler or on a couples only trip you will love the changes. If you have a family, I would look into other hotels.

2022-04-23This property has offered an absolutely amazing experience on every visit. From the valet to the house keeping, everyone is always on stage and providing top notch service. Thanks for another incredible stay, Ritz Carlton.
