Come for the drinks and appetizers. Leave before you give them an entree order. Myself and two friends took maybe 3 bites of our entrees and then asked for a box. I tossed mine in the trash this morning. The descriptions of the food were so much more interesting than the food itself. Super disappointed in the entrees but the drinks were terrific!
Great Find! We are admitted whiskey geeks. Selection at TWP (The Whiskey Project) is off the charts (>1000 choices!).Food is even better than the “to-die-for” whiskey/bourbon selection. Deviled eggs, filet with sublime au-poivre sauce, roasted potatoes plus bourbon-pecan pie all made for a tasty and memorable evening. Service is helpful and attentive.Honestly, I would rate TWP 6-stars if I could.
The spirits menu is a bit cumbersome, but being a bourbon enthusiast, I enjoyed tasting a few new selections. The duck and quinoa entrée was exceptional, and the snapper dish was also delicious. The ambiance was warm industrial and southern with its emerald and dark brown color palette and textiles of toile, velvet, and tufted leather mixed with metal fixtures and concrete floors.
Well that’s a lot of brown liquor form all over kingdom come. And all really interesting. From there, try the barrel aged cocktails. Specialty versions of your favorites. I really recommend the Black Manhattan and my friend loved the Boulevard. Finally, I thought the duck breast rivaled any that I’ve had before. The skin was crispy and the breast was perfectly medium rare and exactly firm without being chewy.
Amazing drink the Whiskey Coke Old Fashioned. First time coming here and it was a blast! Got lucky to grab a seat at the bar which fills up fast. Bartenders know what they are taking about. They have a huge and I mean HUGE selection of whiskeys. Definitely will be going back again soon!
Wow! The place is awesome! It’s great for a date night or GNO! We went there on a double date and loved our cocktails and every meal was spectacular! We all want to go back! Definitely order their summer cocktail! It apparently won best of roswell and it’s so yummy! Just be prepared to spend a little but it’s so worth the $$ I had the salmon and it was cooked perfectly! My husband had the pork chop and it was also very good. The kale appetizer was our favorite over the polenta (a little bland)
I have traveled all over the US searching for a place like The Whiskey Project. Who knew I would find it in Roswell, GA? My girlfriend and I drive from downtown Atlanta to eat here!Do yourself a favor and ask to eat at the bar. Bask in the glory that is the owner’s private Bourbon collection (the single largest in the SouthEast).Always dreamed of touring the Kentucky Bourbon Trail? Ask for Ellen. From your seat at the bar, she will take you on a Bourbon Trail ride that will have you returning the next day -like it did us (dinner then Sunday brunch). The menu is as rare as the fine bourbon collection. The food is better than any 5 star bougie midtown Manhattan haunt. I dare anyone to declare a better establishment!
Whiskey Project has a great vibe. There is a nice brick and the dinner if good. The drinks are amazing the service is great. They dont just have whiskey but they have A LOT of whiskeys some of which they age in house. The food is good. The duck is my favorite tacos and breast. They could add a burger to their menu tho.
Stellar whisky selection, wonderful food, service was flawless. Fillet mignon was absolutely perfect and charcuterie was a exciting and nice way to eat while we sampled the menu. Its a great place to try whisky before you buy a bottle - especially since they offer 1oz pours. Interior is a combination of regal old world furniture and aggressive exposed construction - just right for a ambiance filled night of good drinks, good food, and good service. Only complaint? A little delayed on getting the drinks out - otherwise we would have had more 😅.
So weve eaten here three times over the course of two years (it wouldve been more, but we live about an hour away). Nevertheless, the food and drinks are absolutely wonderful - we have never been dispointed. Moreover, the staff/owners are top-notch. Service is impeccable, and when we called the restaurant to express a concern, it was addressed right away. Bottom line, if you would like outstanding food & drink served with impeccable care and concern, this is your go-to watering hole/eatery.
My absolute favorite Roswell restaurant! Inventive, local and seasonal menu that never disappoints. The most extensive Whiskey list, both Scotch and Bourbon, of any place Ive encountered and mixed drinks that are unique and delicious. Service has been excellent every time weve visited. It can get a bit noisy on a busy weekend night but is perfect on a week night for a midweek date night.
We had a wonderful evening! It was our (three of us) first time visiting and it was absolutely perfect. Our server (I cant remember her name, sadly, Kayla maybe? Short hair and very pleasant demeanor!) was phenomenal. She was very knowledgeable and helped guide us with suggestions on our cocktails and food selections. I had a ton of questions and she was on top of everything and quite willing to talk about the food and drinks with me. The three of us were catching up and chatting as we hadn’t seen each other in ages, so we did take a while to settle down and order, but she was so patient and accommodating the entire time, and made sure we never felt rushed, which was very comforting.Everything was fantastic. We opted for sharing small plates, and we took all of our servers recommendations (the tacos were fabulous). The atmosphere is great, small and intimate. Our empty plates were removed promptly and our water glasses were always filled. We will absolutely be back.
I got the duck tacos and while I guess they were okay, definitely not what I was expecting and should have ordered something different. The mimosas were super good. The service was absolutely awful! We watched other people come in after us and get their food and drinks before the waitress even took our order. Its annoying to have a mandatory tip put on the check because she sure didnt earn it! We felt ignored the entire time.
Tonight was first time at this place and it will not be my last. For starters, everyone was pretty socially distant (I love), so that was a defining moment for me. We started with the duck tacos and, which was more than enough. Between that, we had cocktails and they were all delicious and the bartender could make whatever you threw at him.My party and myself each had something different (from the duck to the flet mignon) and each dinner was perfect portioned and delectable. The lamb loin had just enough on the plate to feel like you spent enough for your money (I took more than half home). Our server was amazing and she was able to guide us in the correct direction of what we wanted to eat. I will be frequenting this place again. Good food and amazing drinks and impeccable service. I couldnt ask for anything more.
We were seated at our reservation time but waited 15 minutes and no one approached us. We finally told someone and ordered a bottle of wine with her. The wine came out already opened and he poured two glasses without asking either of us to taste. Did not explain the menu just asked us if we’d like to order apps. This was after another 10 minute wait. Meanwhile our waiter was paying lot’s of attention to the 6-top next to us as more and more people crowded in the front. The couple next to us had more attention by a different waiter than we did. Appetizer was cold. Salmon was over-cooked. I probably won’t go back.
It may be because of my choice, but the chicken wasnt great. Very bland. My friends has mixed reviews as well. My friends with the scallops, pork and lamb loved it. My friends with the steak, and my chicken were very disappointing. The drinks, appetizers and sides were amazing however! We also had amazing service.
Nice atmosphere. Extensive drink menu, looked to offer over 1,000 various types of alcohol. Food was more farm to table fare with as minimal of seasoning being used which actually worked! Deviled eggs were good. The pork belly with fried kale and balsamic vinegar was my favorite, wish I had taken a pic of that too. Everyone at the table had the pork chop. Again, extremely minimal seasoning but it worked. The sauce provided help. I should have had the salmon. But maybe next time. Visit! This is a cute neighborhood bar that would be nice to frequent even if its just for the extensive beverages they offer and the apps. Bar area was packed and looked to serve the same menu there. If youre not for a bar dining experience, make sure to make reservations as there really is only about 15 tables in the place.
We had a great experience at The Whiskey Project. Appetizers and dinners were amazing. My husband said his steak was just as good as the last one he had at Little Alley...thumbs up!The only suggestion I have is that it would be nice to have several standard whiskey flights to choose from (with different price points). The only options were for us to make our own flight by choosing our own whiskeys or for the bartender to create one for us. The flight that the bartender ended up creating for my husband had 2 very smoky whiskeys in it. One tasted straight up like an ash tray. For example one flight could feature smoky whiskeys and another could feature foreign whiskeys, etc. Just a couple thoughts!!
5+ stars, TWP definitely deserves more than 5 stars!!!Had Mothers Day Brunch here with my daughter. We had the most amazing time. Staff is very friendly & the food & service, well impressively outstanding just doesn’t seem to say enough. Our bartender, Brian, well he was awesome!!! So helpful with not only picking the best drinks but also with food recommendations. He was spot on with everything. The flavors of each dish was pure perfection & the portions were the perfect size. (However since the food was so delicious you wished for more) Nick was so friendly & knowledgeable, taking the time to answer any questions we had. We will definitely be back! This is one place you will want to check out.
One of the best evenings we have had in along time! Food was perfect and the spirits were even better!! Truthfully I’m not a big drinker and don’t know much about Whiskey, but the menu and staff make it easy to order yummy drinks... the entire staff makes you feel welcomed! The fila and Salmon was amazing!!!
I took my parents and family out to the whiskey project to celebrate my moms birthday and a very late fathers day.We were all blown away with the atmosphere, food, drinks,etc... my father and I had the duck breast, rare. It was incredible!!!! My wife had the salmon, she never finishes her dishes but her plate was completely clean. She loved it! My mother had the pork chop, it was huge and delicious! We all shared an order of the kale and even being a kale fan, it was the BEST i have ever had. We shared a bottle of wine at the GM Marcuss recommendation and it paired perfectly with our dinner. Afterwards my father and I had after dinner cocktails. I had the Louisville smash and he had the old fashion, both were perfect after dinner cocktails. I have worked in the restaurant industry for 20 years and I feel this place is a true 5 star experience!! I will be back, and I am already thinking of people to bring with me so they can share what an awesome gem of a restaurant the whiskey project is.Great job!!!
The selection is unbelievable. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and can help even a newest whisky/bourbon enthusiast find the right drink for. The food here is also amazing!Pop in and see Elliott, hell put you on the right track. I still cant get over the selection!
Loved it.... great house drink selections. Not just bourbon etc lots of vodka house drinks too such as James Bond Vesper martinis..I only would suggest they MUST start making smoky hickory fired up on the wood board old fashions and manhattans.Your business would soar and could charge $20 or more each like at the Ritz or other classy places. People would go out of their way to have Smokey bourbons...Especially with your outside area...
Enormous whiskey menu, with any selection you could think of. The staff was very pleasant and even picked out the perfect cocktail for me. The dinner menu is a little small, but everything my group had was delicious! Will definitely be coming back and recommending to friends!
I cant say enough good things about The Whiskey Project. The food is delicious, and the cocktails are incredible. If that wasnt enough, the staff is always amazing. Nick in particular makes every effort to accommodate his customers and make sure their experience is great. We truly feel lucky to have such a great, unique place to go to in Roswell!
The one star is for the food, which is actually really good, the missing 4 stars are for how abruptly our evening ended at this establishment. We made dinner reservations to celebrate the holidays with friends this evening. During our dinner we ordered appetizers, salads, entrees, deserts, along with multiple rounds of drinks for the table. This is where our evening turned. Wait staff hovered waiting to clear the table the second the checks were dropped off. Less than 3 minutes after our checks were signed we were asked to move our conversation to the very crowded bar so that walk in customers could be seated. I find it extremely rude to ask a four top who just paid over $450 for dinner and drinks to relocate so quickly after finishing in order to accommodate other guests. Needless to say none of us plan in returning after the way we were treated. Very frustrating.
Food was amazing. Our waitress Savannah was knowledgeable, helpful and super fun. We were sat outside as they were expecting a large party that night, so I cant speak to the inside ambiance, but we will definitely be back. The duck gets a big thumbs up from me and my wife, and our friend absolutely loved his filet mignon. The whiskey is out of this world and the other drinks are done just as well!
One of my all time favorite to grab a drink, a real drink. My go-to has to be the Black Walnut Old Fashioned and the Osaka Nightcap. I have plenty of stock at home to drink straight, but these two drinks I think about. The atmosphere is great before it gets packed and loud. Moody, low light... and shelves of whiskey stacked to the ceiling. If you are there for a drink, it doesnt get more comfortable than the oversized chairs by the front door.Food is pretty darn good, surprisingly good for what looks like a place thats a bar first. Love it here, but do not go. It gets packed enough and dont need to compete with you for a table. ;-)
Went there for the whiskey selection. I was not disappointed - it was amazing - they had everything! Good prices for hard to find bourbons and some great house made drinks. Biggest surprise of the night was how great the food was. I went there with a group of ten and the service was spot on. The meal was fantastic - a perfect fit for Roswell. I will definitely be back.
We had a table of 8. ALL 8 of us would agree that we haven’t had such an exceptional dining experience in a long long time. The food and service was incredible, but the ambience and beverage selections was over the top. Entry-level whiskey drinkers, try the “Uncle Buck!” Cant wait for our next visit!
We went for NYE....they changed the menu for NYE and we were thinking it was going to be a special menu but really they made a more condensed menu of what they already had and put a up charge on every single item compared to their regular menu price. This place has amazing drinks, I’ll give them that. However, the food is way over priced and is nothing special. It also had extremely bright atmosphere, not what you would expect. We asked if they could put the ball drop on the tv around 11:30 and our waiter said, yes they would be doing that. 20 mins goes by and it’s 10mins till midnight and we are looking around to see who is watching the tv and ABSOLUTELY NO ONE IS, then asked the waiter again to change the tv and he came back and said they will shortly. 2 mins to midnight I got up to ask again, and as I was walking towards them to ask they finally changed the tv. keep in mind that no one was watching the sports reruns and there was maybe 30 ppl in this whole place. This place is good for one thing...cocktails.
Great Spot! Cool Vibe! Nice People! Cut Bourbon :(Here’s my problem. I ordered a pour of Colonel EH Taylor Barrel Proof. It’s a unicorn and I was excited! It’s was +- $39 per pour but this bottle can range from $350 to $400 so I was cool with the $39 price. I know Bourbon pretty good and I have several barrel proofs in my possession. When I got the pour and took a sip I was extremely disappointed. It had to be cut. There is no way that pour was 128 proof. 128 proof is thick and full of unfiltered citrus, caramel and oak notes from the barrel. No this was maybe 80-90 proof and had the consistency of water. I refused to spend another dime so we left and won’t be back.
Typical high end dinner. I wasnt impressed by their food or drinks. Their whiskey collection is impressive. Even though we had a reservation, we still were not sat for an hour. By the time we were sat they were out of some of the menu items. Atmosphere is loud and there isnt a ton of room when they are busy.
Great cocktails. Knowledgeable and skilled bartenders. I recommend their aged cocktails where they make a large batch of a cocktail and do a final aging in a mini barrel.I had their TWP Manhattan and it was perfect! Then I had Sazerac. Delicious.I the person I was with preferred whisky neat and I switched to that. Based on our preference our bartender came up with several interesting bottles for us to try.All in all, a great afternoon.
Didn’t come for just drinks. Came for the food and because it was a 4.7 star on google reviews.- water wasn’t served for at least 10mins after seating- octopus had cold components that should have been warm/hot- there is nothing confit about the duck- service was lacking for the prices- drinks were blah- dropped my napkin and no one touched it the entire dinner- entrees were not as bad as the apps but nothing to write home aboutHave to help bring it down from 4.7 so I give this a 1...
Delish! Great spot for lunch. Will have to back for brunch and dinner and whiskey another time. The small plates are really good. Shrimp fritters blew us away as did the TWP salad. Pork tacos were very hearty, but a bit dry for my taste. The collard greens were killer.Love the decor and the service was spot on. Well be back for certain..
Great food, great bourbon/whiskey/ scotch selection, great service. Only wish the audio system was louder, if present at all. Small space for so many people trying to speak over one another. I understand the staff cant control guests lack of volume control. Overall, I highly suggest visiting this establishment!
This was my first time coming here. You are just amazed on the many different whiskey they have. They also offer other types of alcohol. The food was delicious. We ordered all the appetizers. The server are great and knowledgeable. I will definitely go there again. A hidden nugget in Roswell..
Phenomenal. I have never seen a whiskey menu so vast. Plus the food was amazing. Venison carpaccio was very different - tasty and tender. Duck breast had crispy skin and cooked perfectly medium rare. Do not miss out on the chocolate bourbon pecan pie...I will just say...carmelized bacon drizzle.
Pecan pie was dry, beef slider was a little overcooked, and the loaded frites needed some salt. The pork tacos were very good though. Waiting staff was friendly. I did not try the main dishes but 3 of 4 things we tried were just ok. Old fashion was smooth but not much flavor. We might have to try again on another night. Has potential though.
A wonderful little find. This place was delicious. My husband and I visited for our 5th year anniversary. Giovanni helped me find the cocktail that suited me just perfectly. I was being a little more picky than usual and he still managed to reccomend a great option. My husband choose three whiskeys and Giovanni allowed us to order a half portion as 6oz of whiskey would have definitely done us in. We tried a Japanese, an Irish, and a Scotch whisky and they had the most beautiful and different tasting notes. Truly a flavor rollercoaster. We ordered the meat and cheese board and it too was a feast for the senses. Something sweet, crunchy, savory, sour, creamy; perfectly paired and balanced items. All dishes were plated beautifully too. They were cooked perfectly. The herb fries were a decadent treat. We stayed for hours and never felt rushed or unwelcome. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, honest, helpful, and clearly skilled. We will definitely be returning! 3 Whiskeys down, 997 to go. ;)
Had a good time hanging in the bar after being out with friends. Drinks were good, service was good, but after dropping over $200 on two rounds of drinks and leaving a tip of $45, got accused of stealing a glass on the way out the door. First time there. Will never be back. Really poor customer service!
If 10+ full pages of whiskey, bourbon, and blends sounds amazing to you, this is your place. You name it and it is likely here but bring your wallet! The food is eclectic and good. The ambience is quaint, upscale whiskey bar. Overall, our group of 10 had a great experience but it is likely a one and done visit for us.
Amazing whisky selection! Hands down the best of anywhere in Atlanta Ive been to over the past year.Admittedly their dram prices are a little high in my opinion (having a couple will run almost enough for a full bottle of something pretty decent at retail)... but again, oh the selection. My suggestion is to make the most of it - tell your server up front to have the bar stick with 1 oz. pours to let you really go all-out on trying a wider selection than a normal flights worth. Likely Andy (one of the owners) will stop by your table as well at some point - if so, hit him up for a suggestion of whats really great that theyve just gotten in. Dont ignore the cocktail menu, either - theyve got some genuinely original creations and seasonal drinks that are excellent. My friends and I were sticking to small plates that night - but the entres going past our table all looked amazing (calling out the pork chop, especially). The heavy appetizers we chose were great as well (particularly the gnocchi) - I look forward to visiting again soon.
Amazing new restaurant here in the heart of Roswell. Though the whiskey selection is more than impressive (more than 1000 different bottles), we came for dinner. I had a pan-grilled salmon and my husband had filet mignon. Both were expertly cooked and served with locally-sourced vegetables. We will definitely be back!
Chuck seems like a tool... 3 stars my butt. Its a great place for awesome cocktails, great service and an exceptional menu. Sitting at the bar offers a nice opportunity to ask questions and get visuals of cocktail as they are poured and sent to service. If you plan to sit in dining plan ahead and call in reservations for the weekend.
Walked in expecting Whiskey to be the show case and the food to be an also has situation, especially when you see that beautiful wall of whiskey. While the whiskey and cocktail menus are extremely impressive the food will long term probably be the real attraction for most. Smallish food menu but what they do they do perfectly, tried both a duck and fish entree and both were excellent as was the crispy kale appetizer.
The Whiskey Project has a rustic feel, but still has the warm and cozy vibe. Not to mention one of the best barrel aged Old Fashions Ive had in a very long time. The food was absolutely fantastic and the service was fast, friendly, and professional. I Highly recommend TWP if you are looking to try something a little different.
We were a party of 5 we wanted to have a nice dinner my college grand children coming home for the weekend, we could not have chosen a better place . Kali our server was outstanding, knowledgeable with drinks and food. The food was excellent . We all ordered a different dish, each one was well presented. In all we definitely will return.
Dont let the name fool you, this place has more than just a good whiskey place. There are countless bottles of brown water and also a great menu for lunch and dinner. Ive eaten several meals here both lunch and dinner. Service is always knowledgeable and food is high quality. I wouldnt recommend for kids.
Staff seemed frazzled and rushed us through our meal. We sat down and before we had a chance to even go over the drink menu, our server wanted to put in our entire order in at the same time. They cleared plates without asking if we were finished. Our Husbands stepped outside for 5 mins and a lady came over to our table completely clearing it off, even our drinks while asking us if our Husbands were coming back. Just to be clear, we spent the average time that you would expect to have a sit down meal and are conscious about the need to turn tables. Customers shouldnt be told how slammed they are, how the kitchen is so backed up, and that they needed our full order in a hurry. Handle it.
I use to love this restaurant but recently the filet mignon has been very disappointing. It’s seasoned well, but it is never cooked how I ordered it. I order it medium, it arrives rare. I order it medium-well, it arrives medium-rare. It hasn’t been worth my money, and I’m never ordering here again.
1200 bottles, but the menu shows options that are not on the shelf to serve. Very knowledgable staff. Food is very good. The drink prices are HUGE, like 3-4 times higher than you would expect ($32 for one ounce pour was normal). Some pours were over $200 per ounce. The tab for 2 people, drinks & food was $300 without tip. It was an enjoyable experience but the shock over what they charge is the HANGOVER. Any good liquor store will have the same labels and it would be a lot cheaper.
The filet mignon and red snapper are extraordinary. The atmosphere is comfortable and the staff welcoming. The decor is perfect for this venue. However, the high ceilings, coupled with the solid floor, make for an occasionally uncomfortably high noise level. Nevertheless, Ill be going back.
This place deserves some written love: great spot, hip vibe, beautifully stocked bar, and one of the best meals Ive had in a minute.Started with a fantastic Japanese whiskey & mezcal cocktail while we waited for our table. We had reservations, but it was so busy we still had to wait - not too long, but you can bet its a good sign the place is this popular having just opened this week!Moved on to a rye tai cocktail on the advice of our waitperson, who, like me, said she didnt fancy sweet drinks. This was a different animal entirely, the rye kills all the cloying sweetness youd find in a typical mai tai & brings out the tropical flavors in a much more subtle & pleasing way.Very thoughtful wine selection, absolutely tickled to see Mer Soleil on the list, which I had with my dinner, and my date (read: husband) had a bourbon barrel Zin. Lots of good beers on tap, too, including my favorite, Cherry Street Coconut Porter. Really hard decision not to get one, but a girl can only drink so much in one night, and I could tell from the carefully detailed menu and evidence on plates all around us that the trip we were about to take called for wine.We started with the roasted red pepper deviled eggs (candied pistachio, basil, and red pepper coulis) - the crispy pistachio pieces really set off this dish. Next was/were the Kalettes (pork belly, garlic, thyme balsamic reduction & grand padana) - the kale in this dish was like crack, I think its flash-fried & Im certain I could have eaten my weight in it if I had been given the chance. The flavor combination was insanely good & the little pepper rings on top had just the right amount of heat & kick. Next we had the sweet potato curry soup (lime cream, spiced pecan, micro basil) - the lime cream was the star of the show, completely elevated the soup. We were filling up, so we shared an entree, and it was a difficult choice. We made the exact right decision with the duck breast, no way it could have been better or outdone by any other dish (garlic spaetzle, baby carrot, swiss chard, ham demi-glace & prosciutto crisp). The duck was tender, cooked perfectly, plenty of flavor-packing fat, and the demi-glace was just stupid good. We guarded the remaining smears of demi-glace from a couple of attentive waitstaff, but as soon as they witnessed us pawing at the plate, they sweetly brought us a small bowl of the demi-glace with some grilled toast points. Pretty sure I lost my mind for a few minutes after that.Even as busy as they were the entire time (seriously, standing room only) our waitperson never missed a beat, had a fantastic personality & made spot-on recommendations. We wanted for nothing.I dont know how we had room for dessert, but damned if Id walk away from coconut profiteroles, and I was right to stick around for them: they were the perfect end to an absolutely perfect meal & experience. Highly, HIGHLY recommended.
I can tell they are really trying so kudos to the owners. On a Saturday it was chaos with overflowing bar and a noise level that was nearly painful. Kitchen didn’t lose control and kept things moving. Food is decent. Chicken tacos got good reviews. The crab cake isn’t great (fix that sauce). The duck was well cooked, sides not great, fine. Snapper fine. It’s all at least fine. Blanched hericot verts all around! They have potential and the surge in popularity may just be straining the operation. Fingers crossed.
Great place to meet for drinks. However, food could use a little help. The flavor is there. The thing they need help on, is cooking for the masses. My osso bucco was over cooked. If the chef finds this, then boom! He can correct the little error very quickly! Again, this is a great atmosphere, warm welcome and wonderful selection of alcohol!!!
Tartine was AMAZING, so many flavors!!!!!The Kalettes were perfectly crispy, salty, and smokey with the pork belly.Steak sandwich was the best entree (for lunch).Crab cakes were super fresh (so fresh that it was slightly fishy, but still a fan).Don’t get the chicken sandwich; super dry and not many ingredients that made up for it.COCKTAILS, WOW; ordered the tequila lavendar with absinthe, and the vodka chili watermelon, both amazing. Service was great, the owner was there the whole time checking up. Waitress lacked a little personality and failed to effectively communicate the dishes or wow us.
Such an amazing family owned and operated bar and restaurant. One of the best, if not the best, whiskey selections Ive ever seen. They are all very knowledgeable about their whiskey selection too. But dont be fooled by just a great wall of whiskey, the food was outstanding and the service was right on par for such an excellent experience.
Well-prepared cocktails and a vast selection of whiskies. Food was delicious. Service was good -especially for the place being so new. Had a chance to meet the owners. Very nice and passionate about doing it right. Will be back!Recommend the Rye Tai cocktail, a rye-based take on the Mai Tai and the Walnut old fashioned for whiskey drinks. The Hemingway dacqueri was great if you want something rum based.
Dinner with friends turned into many courses. Kale and brussel sprouts was an incredible opener. Pork belly was good, filet was delicious, duck was maybe the best in town, salmon was perfect. The Meating Street Manhattan, with brisket infused bourbon, is a drink Ill order again and again. Tried all the desserts and the bourbon pecan pie and bourbon infused candy bar stand high above the rest. With 1000+ different bottles at the bar, this place is a delight for everyone. Easily the best restaurant in Roswell and maybe the best in Atlanta.
Despite the hype, this is a poorly run restaurant. We had a 715 reservation and weren’t seated until 805. The service was mediocre. The filet was meh and although I ordered it medium rare it came medium well. I was too hungry to send it back. The room is small and insanely loud. We won’t be back.
Having been to The Whiskey Project previously, I was looking forward to having dinner there with coworkers visiting from out of town. I made a reservation for 5 people via OpenTable on 2/6. The reservation was booked initially at 6:10pm on 2/5 (the evening before).Given the nature of business travel, I thoroughly reviewed their cancellation policy listed on OpenTable and found no reference to penalties for late cancellation. Unfortunately we were unable to attend and, per the instructions on the OpenTable confirmation, I called to inform TWP that we would not be able to attend at 9:00am the day of the reservation - only 15 hours after booking. I received no follow up or confirmation from the restaurant but, given there were no penalties involved with cancelling the reservation per OpenTable, I didnt think anything of it.You can imagine my surprise when I checked my credit card statement on 2/16 and saw a $125 charge from TWP on 2/6. I immediately called to file a dispute with my credit card company and called TWP back to advise that I had done it - they didnt answer again, so I left another voicemail. I can only assume they didnt check that one either at this point.I have since learned that TWPs actual website lists a $25 per person cancellation charge - proof that this information is not listed on OpenTable has been shared with my credit card company.Very disappointing experience and, Im sorry to say, one that wont be repeated as I will not be going back.
I want to say it was amazing BUT... I cant... I had the RIP Joan Rivers .. which was okay... not a drink for dinner... brunch on a hot day... it basically was a greyhound...For dinner I had the Pork Chop..It was so thick and moist... it tasted luje steak. Unseasoned steak but juicy steak nonetheless. Then I had the Super Tuscan ine. Delicious but $22 bucks. We got the smores dessert... I forgot what it tasted like. And a delicious after dinner drink coffee, chocolate, Good Ol days or something... that was very yummy.
Good effort, but execution fell short of the bar set by the menu. The chef needs to treat the sea bass with respect (crispy skin can be achieved without desiccating the flesh.) The char on the kalettes was nice, but the pork was merely hinted at - leaving the dish unbalanced. Aberlour ABunadh is woefully missing on the otherwise impressive single malt listing.
Pros: astounding whisk(e)y selection (more on that in a sec), very friendly service, welcoming staff, very good food, interesting cocktails.Cons: The prices for pours of very commonplace whisky. A lot of things are far too expensive. For example, Lagavulin 16 for $28? (By comparison, Canoe charges $17 for a 2oz pour) Lagavulin 12 was less expensive by a couple bucks when it is actually the limited, cask strength release and has a higher retail price. Actual price aside, that concerns me in thinking they either dont really understand the market or they are miseducating their patrons. Still the price is just too high. Ordering whisky at a restaurant is always more expensive, but it doesnt have to be this expensive. For something like PVW or William Larue Weller, sure. But not Balvenie 12 or 14. Or Ardbeg [fill in the blank]. Granted, there are a few hidden gems in the list for things priced very reasonably, but as someone who knows whisky and what it costs, this place is very overpriced on a slew of pours. Its almost like they want to discourage patrons from depleting the admittedly impressive array before them on the shelves. Maybe thats what you get at the hottest restaurant in Roswell, as the valet put it. But its a shame it isnt more accessible. I wish theyd consider bringing the price of core line bottles down a bit. Then I would be apt to return.
I apologize for the late review, I was in for a meal a few months ago. It was phenomenal! I would like to personally thank Brandon the bus boy. He offered to cut up my food and feed it to me. After my meal alone, he offered to walk me out to my vehicle. He was a very polite young man.
Terrible. Worst service ever. Bartender took 20 mins to figure out what Old Rip Van Winkle was. They had 5 bottles plainly in sight and he didn’t know what it was or what the price was. Seriously the worst experience I have had in years. So bad I will get the word out to everyone I know to avoid this place.
TWP is a comfortable place to visit, dark woods, somewhat rustic in a trendy way; definitely masculine in its motif. Over 1,000 whiskeys to choose from, also a great selection of wines, and good pairing of foods. The staff are fun, knowledgeable, and offer great advice. One downside, at least for me, is the recent advertising and use of valet parking. With 2 other great businesses to visit nearby (Tap & Six, and Zuzzus), the parking is gettin a little crowded. So some solution is needed. But often Ive noticed that with valet parking, a certain amount of presumption also becomes prevalent. More and more high dollar cars and suvs vie for dominance near the front door, and the culture can change to one where everyone is silently judging eachother.Still, i havent noticed change so Ill continue to visit and bring friends.
After spending $200 and being at the reserved table, being asked to leave because they need the table is unacceptable. We were going to continue to spend money and enjoy our night but being essentially “kicked out” for no reason will ensure that I will never return. Shame since I was a frequent guest.
This place has been amazing to me!! I love the restaurant but the Valet there is horrible! I contacted the owner of the Valet company to discuss my disposition with the unpleasant service. The owner told me off and it was very disturbing. If you decide to visit this place, dont allow them to valet!

2020-02-17Amazing! Drinks were phenomenal! It was extremely hard not to guzzle it down. The gnocchi was delicious! The duck was my absolute fav! My only critique would be to redo the recipe for the pecan pie, it was dry and lacked sweetness. If youre going to make pecan pie in the south you have to make it right. Other than that, amazing! Cant wait to come back!

2019-01-12Walking in the restaurant is cozy and beautiful. On a Friday night, they were packed and the earliest reservation were could get was for 8:30 so be sure to make a reservation if you dont want to wait. While we waited for a table we had drinks away the bar, the services was quick and the drinks were creative and delicious. The food was everything you might expect, with I guessing sides like a leek and mushroom risotto. No complaints at all, I will definitely be going back.

2019-08-23Celebrated my 40th birthday there last night (wife surprised me). We went with a group with afficianados, casuals, and folks who dont care at all for whiskey... But between the absolutely staggering whiskey selection, beers, cocktails, and wine - everyone was able to find something they enjoyed. The food was top notch and the service excellent. Highly recommend the pork belly and kale starter, the duck breast, and save room for the smores cake.

2020-01-04Loved coming here for drinks!! We had such a good time. The drinks were phenomenal. Got the Black Walnut Old Fashioned and That One Drink. They were so well crafted and flavorful. Our bartender Steven made our night and even set us up with a Weller tasting. Looking forward to coming back here.

2018-08-01T W P New place on Oak street. Still finding its way. Food was hot and tasty. Service had a few hiccups.Over a thousand bottles of whiskey/alcohol. I watched as a some cocktails where returned to the bar. Because their updated recipes are non-traditional. The acoustics leave much to be desired.

2020-09-12We came in for a late lunch/brunch. Courtney was working behind the bar when we sat down. She was absolutely fantastic, and very knowledgeable. If you enjoy good whiskey/bourbon and good food, I highly recommend checking The Whiskey Project out.
