Have purchased many items from tvs, video games to guns to jewelry. Have always been more than pleased with every item. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Although Ive considered pawning/selling items there I have not due to the fact that THEY told me if I was trying to get more money I would of course get more on Craigs list. ... However, I dont like the hassle most of the time. So if i do sell it to them for less money its because Im pretty much paying them to sell it for me.Long story short, I have and will continue to do business with Thortons pawn and jewelry.
Ive been going to Thorntons for at least 10 years. They always have nice rings and other stuff like video games, movies, instruments just about everything. The help is always nice.
Please know that THORNTONS has 2 businesses. There is a Thorntons Pawn Center and Thorntons Fine Jewelry. When you are posting a review, please specify the Pawn Center or the Jewelry Store. Would love for GOOGLE to separate the two businesses for Google reviews.
They had alright demeanor. Didnt really care about you as a person. Low balled me I believe. And could have given more money for a 3 carat diamond ring if you ask me.
Bought a cool Gibson guitar from the pawn center - it was a great experience - they worked with my budget and Im completely satisfied - 5 Stars - thanks guys.
If a customer buys something from here and later returns to trade for different value product this is what youll get, real scenario btw 349.99 trade for a 349.99 product well sir, the price wont be even, wed have to charge you 100$ extra in order to be more profitable for our business incentive, because 1. the local Clarke county district blah blah 2. and we have to hold it for thirty days... :-((we lovemoney mmkay :-) alright bye. lol yall if anyone wants to purchase something from here PLEASE make sure youve made your mind up on what to purchase. because there is no such thing for customer support here, once you give them your hard earned cash theyll smile, cause theyd screwed someone over and made money off them. anyway for me i am never coming back to this place.

They got great prices great merchandise anywhere from rings tips and equipment to tools to your grandmothers rotten shoes I mean they got everything there great prices again really good service
I BOUGHT A SHOTGUN FROM THESE DUMBA**ES GOT IT HOME AND IT DIDNT FIRE PROPERLY!!! I CALLED TO LET THEM KNOW I WOULD BE BRINGING THE GUN BACK ONCE I RETURNED TO THE STORE THEY REFUSED TO REFUND MY MONEY.....THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD PAY ME 65% OF WHAT I PAID EARLIER THAT DAY.....YOU MUST BE CRAZY!!!! THEN THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD HAVE THE GUY WOULD FIXED IT BEFORE I BOUGHT IT FIX IT AGAIN......REALLY???? CLEARLY HE DIDNT DO A GOOD JOB THE FIRST TIME HE WORKED ON IT!!! THEY SAY THAT ITEMS IN THEIR STORE ARE SOLD AS-IS BUT THEY NEGLECT TO TELL YOU WHAT CONDITION IT IS ACTUALLY IN!!!! WHILE IAM AT THE STORE TRYING TO RETURN THE BROKEN GUN THAT I BOUGHT ANOTHER MAN WALKS IN WITH THE BROKEN RADIO HE BOUGHT!! NEEDLESS TO SAY.......DONT SHOP HERE!! THEY SAY THEY ARE CHRISTIAN BUT THEY ARE JUST HYPOCRITES, LIARS, THEIVES, AND SCAM ARTIST THAT GO TO CHURCH TO FEEL BETTER ABOUT RIPPING HONEST PEOPLE OFF!!
The guys there kind of Pricks they definitely undervalue all the equipment might as well post on Craigslist and see how much you can get unless your completely desperate for cash

2022-04-30The prices seem fair on most things. Most of the employees are personable too.However, one claims knowledge but didnt touch, investigate, or even get close enough to see what I was asking about.I was told you cant get gems at a gold mine and my gem was fake. Jewelry side said there are no lapidaries they know of and no jewelry cutters in Georgia.Theres a lapidary in Dahlonega and at least two jewel cutters in Dahlonega as well. Mary is the lapidary and her husband is one of the jewelers. They have well over 40 years of legitimate experience. Consolidated Gold Mine has a mine, panning for gold, and... you guessed it...gem mining.They professionally appraised this fake emerald at $500. I just brought it in to see what Id be told.

2022-02-01All these folks are are a bunch of con artists who sold me broken equipment wont buy it back rip me off on every time Ive tried to do a pawn or a trade. Im in the middle of a lawsuit now trying to shut these folks down they should get the paperwork in about a month Im also in the middle of pressing charges against these folks for theft by deception theft by conversion fraud. So save yourself the heartache and the hassle and take it somewhere else I mean once I win the lawsuit against them bring it to me cuz Ill be fair with you.

2020-08-19Thorntons pawn and Jewelry are by far the best people I have ever done business with! They go above and beyond for their costumers. Very kind and has helped me and my family a lot of times plus we gets really good deals and their prices are top rate! The staff as Thorntons are truly friendly and helpful. Above all they have always shown and treated me with respect and honesty! I cannot say this for most other pawnshops. They are truly the only ones I really trust and due to many years of business they did earned my trust, which I cannot say that much about other stores, shops businesses etc! Thank you to all the staff at Thorntons Pawn and fine jewelry! For all the help and needs. I look forward in doing even more business with them for years to come. 2021-03-15I believe pawn shops have to make money but these guys are pretty funny. Offered me $175 for $158 worth of ammo I bought at Walmart after tax. I wasnt even selling it for double the price. Their loss. My roommate works at Walmart and is able to get it with his discount. Another pawn shop in Athens has got my business for now on. I left them 3 stars because they do have some nice items here and everyone was friendly.

2019-08-20I love this pawn shop. One reason is they stand firm on God & I respect that. That made me feel comfortable. One pawn shop offered me $20 for 2 watches one being a Rolex!!! Thornton didnt try to cheat me. They Gave me $200!!! God is favorable never questionably! God rulez & so does Thorntons.

2018-02-16Great staff. I brought some coins to be evaluated. Mr. Thornton was an intelligent, straight-foreword guy. He knew more about the coins than I did, and didn’t make me feel dumb in the process. Pawn shops aren’t known for their friendly staff, but Thornton’s is pretty nice.

2020-06-05I went to Thorntons Pawn Shop, the staff are very friendly people, they have a sense of humor and one even helped me find one of my favorite games as a kid. Both times I came in were for some Nintendo DS games. They have a wide range of games from Gameboy Sega to Ps4 which are marked down to great prices. They have more stuff to sell such as equipment and coins and other items. I would definitely go again and will recommend my peers. :)

2018-05-16Christine helped me out with an issue that no one else was willing to do. She truly went the extra mile to help me out dealing with a ring purchased from a big box store years ago. I had never purchased anything from Thornton’s before but after receiving such great customer service I will definitely be back there in the future. Thanks Christine!
