Thrive in other cities:
Very mediocre. The best thing about this place was our waitress. She was kind and attentive. The food, however, was meh. Cooked decently enough, but no favor. The risotto was probably the worst thing on my plate. Not creamy at all. The sushi was good, but I can get just as good for cheaper. This place was disappointing.
Went here on a Saturday with my girlfriends before the Mary J Blige concert and the service and food were excellent. Our waiter Leonardo was very nice and gave us suggestions for drinks (Margarita - spicy), appetizers (Calamari, Pot Stickers), sushi (Dragons Breath) and entrees (Salmon) and each one was on point. He corrected a minor issue quickly and effectively. Will definitely return.
First time here! Very delicious food, no complaints! Had the dragon breath sushi, Chef NY weekly steak and frites, my boyfriend had the reverse fried chicken (didnt take a picture of his, sorry), and a passion in thyme cocktail. OMG! Everything was delicious! I will return! Highly recommend!!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We had a team dinner here with colleagues and it was a very pleasant experience. The service was very friendly and prompt, and we all liked what we ordered - both appetizers and entrees. The standout dish was the burrata and bread, and we also really liked the hummus, fried green tomatoes and the vegetable tempura. People seemed to like the shrimp and grits and the fried chicken. The sushi was ok - some of the sashimi wasnt super fresh, but it met expectations for the most part. Would come again!
Delicious food!! We had the most amazing rolls! Loved the dragons breath and rainbow roll...so tasty and fresh!! I really liked their sushi!! I would love to come back and try some entrees another time!I really enjoyed the calamari and potstickers that we started with! The calamari might have been one the best I have had.I loved my cocktail too. It was a thyme drink and so pretty! Very well prepared. My husband had a bourbon neat and our waitress was so helpful with it....single ice cube on the side after her recommendation. Our service was a little slow bc it was busy on a Saturday night but the manager pitched in to make sure everything was taken care of in a timely manner. Our potstickers came out a little overcooked the first time and he had them replaced right away. It was really appreciated and you dont receive service like that much anymore. The manager was great at supporting the servers to make everything seamless.
:this place was recommended to me as the place to be on Saturday nights. My husband and I visited on a Friday. My husband I shrimp and grits, which he claims was “ good but a bit on the salty side” and I agree. I ordered salmon. I personally enjoyed it, loved the presentation. Service was as expect ( not bad but not memorable) would I revisit? Yes! But not in a rush.
My friends & I had a dinner reservation here. The staff was nice, & the place was clean. We ordered the fried green tomatoes and the jumbo scallops. Both tasted good. The risotto that came with the scallops was dry & flavorless. However, it was a good place to get appetizers & drinks.
Our server was amazing, the restaurant was pretty empty, so we were iffy originally, but the server and the chef were amazing. Great presentation on the plate, full knowledge of the menu and legitimate, honest recommendations from our server (which is really nice actually and hard to come by), made this a great experience. Great food, the trout was delicious and the salmon was even better. Seriously though, the server was the best part, thank you. This was our 10th anniversary, but i dont think they knew, which makes this place even better. Cheers!
We held a proposal dinner here and couldnt have asked for a better experience. They were able to serve a party of 20 flawlessly, the owner was friendly and accommodating, and the entire party agreed that the food and drinks were excellent. Thank you to the entire staff for being so wonderful on a very special evening.
Came from Miami.Booked a table after reading reviews.Restaurant was walking distance from our hotel(Omni cnn).Beautiful decor, chic and elegant. Our table of 7(moms and daughters dinner) was ready as soon as we came in.Staff was friendly and kind.Food was delicious. The best buratta salad and parmesan fries .Salmon,Tuna burger, shrimp salad and sushi were delicious too.Great portions and nicely plated.Even had bottle of wine($40).Great place worth the money($300 include tip for 7).Dafinately 5 stars.
I really wanted to make reservations at Thrive for my wedding rehearsal dinner in October. My wedding is at the Georgia Aquarium and it was the perfect location to have it. I had eaten at Thrive in the past and enjoyed the food. I contacted them and exchanged emails with their event coordinator regarding the menu and moving forward on locking in my date/paying the deposit and she completely stopped responding. Called the restaurant numerous times and left my contact with the staff to be contacted back, to no avail. I’ve never had to chase down a person/business to give them my business. It has been 2 months with no response. I ended up booking with another great restaurant whom was responsive. I hope they work on their customer service in the future, as it is the only complaint I have. Otherwise, I think their food is great!
So working downtown you have a lot of options of food. Depending on time you may want to skip this one as youll have a bit of a wait. However, working in the 101 building makes it easy to go down and have a relaxing time for lunch. Had the Kyoto Sushi combo and it was pretty good. Obviously they have multiple options for food not just sushi. Happy hour specials as well. Definitely wouldnt make it a regular place due to price but a nice celebratory place or post work drinks for sure.
Thrive has such potential but it was only mediocre. My drink was phenomenal (the Lychee Martini) so I would definitely go back for that. The food was just meh. Way too salty and overpriced for what they offer. The food took over an hour to get to us and a six-top that sat after us got their food before us, which was disappointing (maybe the server forgot to put in our food?). The service was great but I would urge you not to get their food, maybe try a sushi roll there - hopefully thats better than the steak and salmon we got.
After waiting over 45 min for drink the absentee bartender acted as if he was doing my party a favor by allowing us to place a drink order. This was completely unacceptable service. If you are coming downtown avoid at all cost if you are looking for acceptable service
Hello. Visiting from miami beach this was our first meal after we landed.Surprised me that the restaurant had only three guests in the bar area and no one in the dinning room. The decor is a bit out of maintenance but it is nice. I really love the acrylic pendant lamps. We had fried tomatoes appetizer. They were nice and tasty but missing a little more crunchiness.Fried calamari which was rubbery and not enjoyable. Also sushi, nice, spicy, serve with old ginger.Definitely this is a restaurant that I am not dying to be back any soon!!!See yall in the next trip !!!
Yum! We had a business lunch today and it was delicious and enjoyable.I ordered the Thrive Burger with bacon and American cheese and it was the highlight of the meal. The flavor of the meat and all the trimmings were amazing. Standout burger for sure. The French fries were crispy and seasoned so they also get the nod. The pickle spears, however, were not so great. I think they were sweet pickles, which are not my favorite. Not a deal breaker though. We also ordered the Chicken Teriyaki sushi roll and while it was delicious, there were fruit flies buzzing around it. That typically means they didn’t clean around the bar properly, which is typically close to the sushi bar. Something about alcohol breaking down draws these flies like moth to a flame. Not a deal breaker, but an issue in my book.Overall, great experience. The server took a long time to get our drinks and order in initially, but was excellent after that. I’d definitely go back as well as recommend!
When we arrived there were only 2 other customers in the place about 5 pm on a Friday. The host was very slow greeting us, but the waitress made up for him. She was friendly and very attentive. We ordered the burgers, fried green tomatoes and calamari. The burgers were ok, no seasoning at all. The tomatoes were decent although I did not care for the sauce. Calamari was ok. The food was just ok, nothing to rave about. I did love the atmosphere and the decor, which would be the only reason I might return. They had just opened back up so hopefully they will get better and Thrive again...
Visited here for a friends going away/success celebration on last night 11/16/19. The staff was welcoming & the atmosphere was pleasant. I love the decor of the restaurant, extremely clean. I ordered the southern fried chicken w/ mac n cheese. It was freshly made & the presentation was mouth watering. The mac n cheese was mixed with what I was able to see corn & butter beans but it was super delicious. Just from observing I can say they do well with accommodating large parties. The wait time for our food 17 people was acceptable. Our waitress had to be the BEST IN THE HOUSE! She was friendly , her spirit was up to beat, & she was knowledgeable of the menu. She did get a tip & I wish her many blessings. She was amazing. I would highly recommend to visit this spot! Oan: The calamari was also delicious!
The alcohol selection was ample enough, the service staff was really friendly and the food was fantastic. They had a weird fried crab I tried and it was a little fishy tasting but the sushi was surprisingly good - honestly I expected it would be mediocre at best. I also had some of their sirloin and it was perfect. Price is maybe a little less than comparable places in the area. Parking is easiest if you go around behind the building and just pay the ten bucks to use the deck. It leads right in. Saved us from walking through the rain.
The atmosphere was nice; I enjoyed the dim lighting but it is very noisy due to the room being so small. My food was great; I had the salmon and kale salad but it did take forever to come out. The waitress was my only downfall to the restaurant. Her attitude was awful and when we asked for anything you would have thought I asked her to rub my feet or something with the attitude she had. Also the drink menu is minimum especially non alcoholic beverages.
A group of us stayed at The Glenn Hotel which was just across the street and enjoyed the food so much at Thrive we went 2 nights in a row. The salmon with a bourbon glaze was simply wonderful after eating a bunch of sushi rolls for appetizers. Not a big menu, but every selection our group had was met with moans of satisfaction. Like to see the service a big more responsive, but just a slight dent in 2 splendid evenings at Thrive
Went to dinner there for the first time a couple weeks ago, and it will definitely be my last. I will never recommend this place. Have told all my friends to stay away. Not only was the food bad, it was cold. My waitress was nice, but did not do a good job. Had to waive her down multiple times just to get a refill. Never came to check on our food or asked if we needed anything. Figured out at the end why the waitress was doing so poorly... Because they automatically added 18% gratuity to the bill. She was getting a nice tip regardless how she did. I won’t be back.
I had steak. It was okay but I had only one choice. The other real meat on the menu was ribs which were also pretty good. Everything else on the menu was fish or sushi which wasnt at the top of my list. So if you like fish in one form or another, this may be the place for you. If not, Id look elsewhere. Beer selection is minimal. Our waitress was nice.
Completely disappointed. Set a reservation for dinner before a show near the restaurant. We ordered appetizers, entrees, as well as sushi. We waited for over 45 minutes to receive our main dish, when I got my salmon it was room temperature. The sushi was poorly rolled and fell apart, not only was it not quality fish but the rice was poorly cooked(not sticky). All of the servers seemed on edge and were not friendly. We were brought the wrong drinks twice. The atmosphere was uninviting and loud, we were at a small table having to yell to have a conversation. Overall we were extremely disappointed!
Disappointed when we received the bill. Incorrect billing. They charged extra for dinner where the menu specifically listed the price as same for lunch/dinner. No where on the menu indicated a change in price for dinner. People make sure to check your bill. Other than that, food we ordered was good but not great.
Great atmosphere and cool spot. We sat at the bar. The food came out fast and was very good. Small plates and apps for us. Lauren took fantastic care of us and had such a pleasant, personable demeanor. Lauren made this entire experience outstanding. Thanks Lauren! That cant be said for the other bartenders behind the bar. They both were the opposite of Lauren and could take a lesson or two from her on how to be friendly, personable and have a smile for your guest. Lauren was working her tail off and still maintained her fantastic attitude.
Excellent service from Paul. The cucumber crab salad was awesome along with the house salad. We shared several sushi rolls for dinner. Great wine list. I suggest the Abstract from Orin Swift which is a great bottle for the price. Easy to walk to from many of the local hotels. Tell Trimi I sent you. Reservations suggested for the weekend. Ask for Pauls area also
Gorgeous and trendy atmosphere. I felt so trendy dining there. I went for lunch with my coworkers so I didnt get the experience of the dim lighting but even with bright sunshine I was very pleased. It has a calming vibe as well with soulful R&B tunes playing in the background.I ordered the grouper sandwich with french fries. The fish was cooked perfect (flaky and perfectly cornmeal battered) with fried green tomatoes, lettuce and thousand island dressing to top it. This sandwich was delicious folks! I highly recommend it. One of my coworkers ordered the sliced lamb sandwich which he says was one of the best sandwiches he has had in the downtown area. I really like that they offer a special lunch menu (with special pricing). I also took a glance at their Happy Hour offerings... Im going! The service was excellent. However, it was a late lunch so we were almost the only people in the restaurant. I am not sure how they are when busy but we had constant refills, great conversation with the waitress and were given a complete explanation of the menu. Two thumbs up!I recommend going here and I cant wait to return!
Out of all the restaurants in Atlanta during the conference this was by far the worst service. We had to serve our own water, continually ask for utensils, had to find our own dessert menus despite asking, only half of the dessert menu was available but we were allowed to order anyway then got brought something else, we had to keep tracking down the waitress for beverages despite the restaurant being half empty then got charged 18% automatically and staff were confrontational when we refused to pay the full gratuity. This is a dining establishment next to a conference center in off season. So many other better restaurants in the area, dont eat here. This is too bad because the food that we did eventually get was good. The front end staff are killing the cook.
Stopped in today, was told to go to the bar for happy hour. The bar area was busy but the dinning room looked like there was seating available, and the service was fast. Besides the great happy hour menu, they had plenty of bottled and canned craft beers for you to try (but theres no draft beers.) The bartender Cris recommended I try the Night on Ponce IPA and the Devils Harvest IPA; I loved both. She also recommended I try the Vesuvius sushi roll (her favorite) and it was delicious as well. The fish was fresh as well as the avocado and mango on the roll. I will coming back next time I have more time for dinner to try to Lamb Shank she recommended.
We came to dinner for my brothers birthday and the experience was amazing from the moment we walked in. Our server was super kind and informative about the menu. The food was spectacular! I’m not much of a sushi gal, but their fried sushi is on point! I highly recommend this place for any and all meals.
I was here with a group of nine. We shared a few appetizers and I ordered two sushi rolls for myself. The appetizers were pretty traditional southern cuisine — good, but not healthy. My sushi was not great. One roll was really bland and the other came with what amounted to BBQ sauce. I guess it was a fusion thing that didnt come off well. The place is a nice break from the bar grub found at neighboring restaurants.
The atmosphere was wonderful at Thrive. The service was great, and our server was extremely friendly. We ordered lamb and sushi, and they were delicious. We also ordered beets and fried green tomatoes, both were equally delicious. I recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Atlanta area. We will definitely be going back next time we are in town!
Sushi was excellent. Vegetable tempura should have been advertised as blackened asparagus since that’s what it was. It was good but didn’t need the extra course salt. Waiter was a sweetheart. Host wasn’t very smart to tell me I couldn’t have a window seat when I asked (because I was single and not a party of four). He was just standing around only paying attention to happy hour activity and ignored me when I came in. I had to ask him if I needed to be seated. One other single lady was at a window and no one else was in the dining area. Room for improvement in the area of class.
I love the atmosphere here. Seats a ton of people, but manages to remain quiet enough for you to enjoy yourself. The menu is incredible, I ordered from both sides and enjoyed the freshness & flavor of the sushi & sashimi dishes and flavor of the heartier dishes. Highly recommended for intimate date night dinners and a great time w/friends. Easy to get to and parking right across the street.
Thrive is an interesting place.Theyre one of those places where you look at the menu and you have to Google an unfortunate number of the items listed. That makes it really difficult to order.Their appetizers are the same price as their entrees, which is a little...what.The bartender that was on shift when I last went in was a delight. (Her name was Brittany.) She was friendly and attentive, even though it was obvious she was tasked with a lot of things that werent bar related. I tried a Champagne cocktail for the first time and loved it.My friend asked if he could have one of the sides from a dish on its own and Brittany explained that the head chef wouldnt do that. I get that theyre probably ordering enough for specific portions but it comes off as a little snobbish when you refuse to serve someone a side order of mac-and-cheese.Their Parmesan fries, dumplings, and calamari are all fantastic. My friends enjoyed their lamb burger and the Dragon Roll.I dont know, maybe this restaurant just isnt for me personally.
Lovely place, great staff! We did a walk in no problem. Manager? walking with new staff and reviewed menu items...this is a rare, but nice touch. Requested a certain dish off menu..yes I know, but it is a sushi restaurant! Explained why they didnt do this type of sushi and suggested another. Not the same, but quite interesting! Very enjoyable!
This restaurant was okay, nothing to brag about except for the Sushi it was very fresh and delicious. The Sushi would be the only reason why we would go back (only if I was in the area) because the service was not up to par considering type of restaurant this is. It took 7-8 minutes for anyone to come to our table just to bring us water, and the waitstaff seemed very unorganized. Also, the menu was limited- Please be aware if you are going here on the weekend - they have a special weekend menu that does not serve the same food listed on the menu online. No lamb at all (which I read on the reviews was very good and was disappointed that they were not serving it). All in all, the Sushi was good and I would recommend but the service , and other food choices was definitely not the best.
Stopped for lunch. Several good looking menu items. Wife got soup and veggie plate. Shrimp & grits for me. Outstanding. Very good service and great differently prepared cheesecake. Not cheap. Wine byglass was $10 and lunch entrees were $13-19. But, if looking for a refined, relaxing lunch spot, Thrive is excellent.
This place is okay. Its not a bad spot for happy hour drinks and food considering how lacking downtown ATL is in this department. Tries to be hip and trendy but feels a little dated. Food and sushi are fine but the wine and cocktail selection is unimpressive. That said we had a fun girls night here and service was pleasant.
Terrible experience. Horribly managed evening. Made reservations a week in advance and had dined there previously. We arrived at our reservation time, 2 hours before a concert. We never received our appetizers, main course took 1 hour 15 minutes. Poor bar service - had to retrieve our own wine chiller 20 minutes after we received a bottle of white wine. Only 1 waiter for about 8 tables -very poorly managed staff. Would absolutely not recommend on a busy evening
Not thriving.Spent 3 hours here to be served cold food, after our reservation was cancelled for being 7 minutes late, although we did call to say we would be 10 minutes late. Our server encouraged us not to order sushi since it would be fastest to get to a concert, though it’s very clear that’s where the focus of their culinary talent lies.
The waitresses/bartenders/host were very inattentive because they were too busy taking shots of crown royal. I sat there for a while and was never offered a food menu, I had to ask for one. I had to ask for water and every time I wanted a refill I had to ask vs them noticing and refilling. I ordered two things for my meal and they didnt come out together. The second item came once I was practically done. So I ended up with leftover food and then wasnt offered a takeout box. Ive never been more happy to walk out of a restaurant. It was an all around terrible experience.
Great place for a mid day downtown lunch meeting. They have a great selection from the bar, perfect for that late afternoon martini. The food great, fresh and I love the fish tacos. I would recommend that you only come here when you have a long lunch planned as everything is made to order and it takes a little while to get served.
Excited to try this place because it’s well-promoted and well-reviewed, but ended up disappointed. Sushi rolls tasted old, as if they were made days ago. Wasabi was even dry on the plate. Kindly provided this feedback to the server who passed it along to the manager, so hopefully quality will improve.
What a wonderful restaurant. I took a group of out of town friends here for lunch recently and had a wonderful experience. The service was very friendly and anticipated our next need before we asked. The food was phenomenal and we especially loved the overall healthy selections on the menu.My friends in town from Melborne, Australia were very impressed with their experience.I recommend this for both both business and casual lunches and dinners.
Whenever i find my self attending a Hawks game or an Atlanta united game, i take the opportunity to wine and dine at this amazing place before heading out.The food is just yummy, the atmosphere is warm and inviting and the service is exceptional. Their trout dish is my favorite and out of this world. My wife is from the South and loves the shrimp and grits dish.
Foods are good. But I dont understand why they asked me for reservations or wait for 40 minutes to get seated when there are clearly seats available(from the receptionist and their floor manager). I have to go outside and make a reservation (right on Google map) then go back in to get seated. Make no sense to waste my time and date.
I work in the building so I went to Thrive quite often. Service is always a bit slow but today it was horrible. Called in order at 11:45 pm. They said it would be ready at 12:00 pm. I arrive at 12:05 pm. After inquiring, food comes out at 12:20 pm. I asked the waiter why it wasnt ready when I arrives, he stated there was an issue with my salmon. I get to my desk and my salmon is cold. Really... Next time Im walking address the street to Glenn Hotel or CNN.
My friend and I came here on Valentines day. We sat at the bar to just order drinks and appetizers before the Hawks game. The bartender did not greet us at all. After a few minutes she shoved drink menus to us with out saying anything. After a few more minutes we had to just ask her for our drinks because it was clear she was not going to ask us what we wanted. Mind, that we were the ONLY two people at the bar. She just went on slowly making drinks and chatting to the other waitstaff. We got our drinks which were in glasses that were hot out of the dishwasher. To me if you are going to charge 12 for a drink, care and detail should go into every part of it including a chilled glass. My friend ordered the Moscow mule which was good but my pomegranate martini was basically a Shirley temple with tequila. Not good. Then after still not being asked what we would like to eat we finally just shouted to her what we wanted to order. She put it in with out even looking at us. We did get our food rather quickly and the guy that brought out the food was very kind and friendly. The food was very very good but because of the service I will never be back here. When we were done with our food she didnt bother to remove the plates or even check up on us of how we liked the food. After our plates were empty for some time, we realized she was not going to bring the check unless we asked. I will not be back here. How hard is it to make eye contact and at least be polite to a bar that has just two people at it. Ridiculous.
Very nice atmosphere. Located near the CNN building and Omni Hotel. I ordered the blackened salmon served with a green salad, topped with feta cheese and a house vinagarette. The salmon was tender, moist and flavorable. I waited about 10 minutes before my order was taken. The waiter was friendly and professional. My next visit I will have the sushi.
Food was not good. Not a place to have good sushi. The other dishes were ok since the lamb burger meat was dry. Not sure where the good reviews are coming from. The service was horrible but at least they are mitten that to us and apologized. A concert overwhelmed the servers and kitchen.
Went to thrive during Amy Schumer concert at Philips Arena. We had reservations but were put in this odd seat that was basically in the kitchen. I spent the first few minutes staring into the noisy/messy kitchen prep area. Not sure why that table even exists but it must have been put there as an effort to use up all space in the room. We asked the manager to move us and found a table near the center. The wait even to get drinks was 20 minutes so we ordered all of our food when we finally saw the waiter. We had reservations at 6pm and the show started at 8:30 so by the time we left we had about 25 minutes to show time. The waiting was super nice and did all that he could to keep us comfortable. The sushi we ordered was just ok and the portions were on the small side. We ended up getting snacks during the show. Maybe Id try them when it wasnt such a peak rush, but with all the events in that area, Im not sure when that would be.
Loved this place. The cocktails are awesome and reasonably priced for downtown. Seating service was a little slow since they had probably 10 tables open and we still waited 20 minutes while those tables stayed open. Also once seated, a table next to us was open the entire time we were eating even tho there were ppl waiting up front. The food was delicious and priced perfectly. Would highly recommend but get a rez so u dont have to wait.
Had happy hour at the bar. Excellent prices for downtown. Dinner was exceptional. Had a groupon. The food was exceptional. I had tuna with black rice wife had beef filet. One word. Excellent. Desert was flour less chocolate cake. Melt in mouth. Leonardo was our waiter. Very professional. If your staying at the omni go to dinner at thrive.
We have been here three times and had a great experience but our visit fell short during a busy time. We did not get all of our food correctly and the service was having trouble keeping up. Super friendly, however. When you can be that busy and still smiling you get four stars because the food problems came from the back of the house.
👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 really bad service we got there before 9 pm the restaurant we look up on Goggle maps and announced that the place closes at 10pm so the won’t serve us cause they say now they close at 9 it was an excuse from hostess 😒😒 I’ve been working on restaurants for 15 years now and this kind of service is deplorable. We walk down to The Bistro in the Courtyard and the service was excellent the where goin to close early, but since my wife and I and a few others where in the same situation, they where nice to service us.Now that’s what I call service and professionalism from a great place.
I sat down at the bar with my service animal at about 7:15 on s Monday night I was the third bar guest and the rest of the restaurant was pretty dead as well. I was first greeted by who I assume was the manager on duty that demanded proof that my dog was a service animal before I even had the chance to sit. This greeting was shortly followed by the bartenders greeting of menu? I told her that I would like to see one but will probably just have a drink. All of this aside, the service bar was absolutely disgusting... No excuse to be prepping garnish this late... Not impressed.
Terrible service. The owner is a rude psycho with no manners and deceiving tongue. My family booked a reservation and traveled out of town to celebrate birthday, only to find out that they took a private party booking without notifying us ahead and cancelled our reservation and literally kicked us out when we got there saying crazy, nonsense things. My 2-yr old, 10-yr-old, and 12-yr old children were shocked to see such a rude restaurant owner. One of them asked, Is he a racist? The inside of the restaurant looked completely different than the exaggerated photos. Although restaurant website clearly stated that dinner hours are from 3:30-10:00 pm, the owner insisted that dinner hour starts at 4 pm and said his customers are expected to eat within an hour and be out.If you still want to eat at this restaurant, dont use groupon (refund groupon and get your money back if you can) and you cant be few minutes late or you might get kicked out! My family went to an Italian restaurant instead and sighed a relief vowing never to return to Thrive. With this kind of service and manner, this restaurant will surely wither away than thrive...
I used to work in this building so it was convenient to eat here if I wanted to get lunch nearby. They have a range of food, but to be honest it can be kind of pricey. The drinks were ok and the food was not that impressive for the pricing. It has a cool vibe - especially for the after work crowd but its not my favorite place. Its so-so.
The waitress insisted that the dish (lamb sandwich) could not be served without the bread and kept pushing the seafood.. and I am allergic to both! How can a supposedly farm to table restaurant not be able to serve food that meets someones dietary restriction? We walked out and I had never walked out of a restaurant. The staff could not care less! The restaurant was also near empty so it is not like the restaurant had too much business to care.
Ive been here twice but only when its set up as a night club. The dance floor is PACKED which is great because everyone is moving rather than just standing around trying to look good. The drinks are good though pricey. Both times Ive been here we were in VIP which I prefer so as to not have random strangers grabbing on me as Im trying to dance. However, it seems like anyone can walk in and out of that area whether or not they paid for it. That only bothers me because then I feel like we wasted our money. Still, its always a good time.

2022-02-20Food and Drinks were amazingly delicious and service was outstanding! We started off with the Fried green tomatoes for our appetizer....very light and tasty! For our main course I had the Salmon and Ceasar Salad while my wife had the Southern fried Airline chicken (highly recommend both dishes). We also had the Lychee Martini (one of the best Martinis Ive had). This was our first time here and I must say it will not be our last. I recommend making reservations as it got a little busy as we were leaving.

2022-03-15Came for a family dinner and enjoyed all appetizers and entrees. Fried green tomatoes came five pieces in an order and were pretty good although small - the only negative. We ordered the Dragons Breath sushi roll and it was outstanding. If you dont like spice you can take off the jalapeno and sriacha thats on time. The soft shell crab in the Spider roll was also awesome and has great crunch. The fried chicken entree was delicious and pretty big. The chicken was crispy and the meat was seasoned, not just the breading. Succotash was surprisingly fresh too. The tuna burger was deliciously awesome and perfectly cooked medium.

2022-02-02The service was good. It was the scallops that lacked which is why it was a 2 star and not higher. The first plate was so salty that I choked with the first bite. It happened to my friend as well. It was as if the chef garnished with a handful of salt after plating the meal. The manager compd the ginger salad (oh so delicious) and had the food cooked again. The alarming part was that the manager stated that they cooked heavily with salt. Seasonings should compliment the meal not takeover. Second plate lacked flavor so I add the ginger vinaigrette over the scallops and it turned out delicious. Sad because Thrive use to be a true swanky spot in Atlanta downtown area that you could enjoy soft music and merrily eat and drink. I would only come back for the ginger salad and wine.

2022-02-14They were really short staffed on Saturday when we dined here. We had a large party of 12 and it took a while to get our order taken. For the food and drinks, Its a 5 out of 5 because I enjoyed my cocktails (French 75) and food (kale Caesar with salmon). The service was sub par and a little rushed when the waiter finally got our orders in. I would like to try the restaurant again on another day/weekend thats not so busy.

2022-03-27This was my very first time here , although the food was good the service was horrible . They served me shrimp & grits which was $30 and barely half of the plate was filled. I received my food and my shrimp were raw. The owner of the place has a very hard time understanding where people come from and he also says things with a very nasty attitude. They did correct my food so I thank them for that but the service was HORRIBLE & raw food shouldn’t be given out PERIOD. The picture is after they corrected it the first time. His food was good as hell though obviously.

2022-06-13We have loved Thrive every time weve visited. The Chile Pepino is one of my favorite drinks Ive ever had. We were very kindly warned ahead of time that our sushi could take up to an hour due to the busyness of the restaurant. We ordered 4 rolls but they came out pretty fast - probably about 20-25 minutes. Great food.

2022-02-15Went for Valentines with my girlfriend, the place is very nicely decorated. The food is absolutely amazing. I had the salmon, my girlfriend the filet, and both were ABSOLUTELY delicious. Like amazing. Food is 5 stars. The only thing that lacked was the service. The uniform was inconsistent and could be elevated to match the decor of the place. Our server, while very nice, was extremely slow throughout the night. Barely refilled water , checked on us, took 17 minutes to get my debit card back to me after paying. And it was not busy, especially for Valentines. I ordered my girlfriend and I a second round of drinks and she just complained forgot, which we were kind of glad because we were ready to leave. We may have ordered dessert and more drinks if the service was better. But still, thank you, the meal was great and Im sure there are great servers there

2022-04-24Made reservations and due to traffic, struggling to find the Red Parking deck and walking- we were 30 minutes late- but we called thirty minutes prior to our reservation and explained we would be late and they saved our reservation! Yes! Top notch customer service! The menu did not disappoint- the calamari, the Fried Green Tomatoes were on point! The sushi was fresh and delicious!

2022-05-10I don’t know if I just went on a bad day or what but my experience was not good at all. I was excited to try to this restaurant because of all the good reviews I had originally seen but instead I left with nothing but disappointment. I admit, the waiter was super sweet and attentive and the drinks were delicious but the food was a whole different story. I went with a group of girls and after waiting 40 minutes, all our food came back either raw or undercooked and cold. The waiter apologized for everything and comped our meals but after that experience I will not be trying this place again.
