Top Crab in other cities:
I came to visit my Husband on post and desperately wanted seafood; found this place. We ordered a low country boil, fried fish and shrimp basket with Cajun fries, kid shrimp basket and kids chicken wing basket everything was good except the fries other than that no complaints. The prices are reasonable so that’s a bonus.
Been twice. Food, service and music, all great. Nice TVs around the restaurant, including at the bar. One of the cleanest restaurants and bathrooms I’ve ever seen. Only flaw is how loud the fellow patrons can be. 5 stars since that’s not really the restaurants fault. But take an excited party of 4+ and add music and they may be compelled to yell over the tunes. Phenomenal establishment otherwise, will absolutely return.
I just left there and OMG the food was soooo good. Literally every bite Id close my eyes and say mmmmm lol I got the combo B and they had a special where if u get any combo u get black mussels for free so of course I did that. Maaaaan it was so worth it. Everything was delicious and the staff was phenomenal
I’d give them a 10 if I could. Ordered the lemon pepper Buffalo wings and the low country boil. Best wings I think I’ve ever had. Best priced boil I’ve come across with the most food. Crab legs could have had more meat in them but everything was seasoned so good, service was amazing. Cocktails are really good as well. I’d put this place over juicy crab tbh just off the flavor and the amount of food you get.
I absolutely love Top Crab! The restaurant is awesome, food is awesome, cool vibe.BUT they definitely are going to start losing business with the management. Shalise the “manager” needs to be let go I will NEVER eat here if she’s working EVER! She doesn’t know how to talk to customers. Doesn’t even have customer service & is overall JUST NASTY! Definitely the definition of people taking a little power they get too far!
I ordered a slow broil for lunch an there was no potatoes in it an i asked no heat an was so spicy that i couldnt eat any if it. I did eat the fried Calamari it was great an sauce was good..spent $124 an left an had go get food from Juicy Crab that was eatable with my ulcer. Wish they had menu with no heat ..
I gave this restaurant a 3 star because, the food is good, but as we all know gas is high at the moment I drove 30 minutes to pick up my online lunch order when I arrived my order wasn’t in the system. I showed the owner and waitress my online confirmation with the time and expected that my order would be the same price. My order didn’t come through and the owner said he still couldn’t give me my order for the price that was given online. As a owner I feel as if I showed you my confirmation with the order amount that he could’ve been a little considerate and gave me my food for the price that I order online. Instead he looked in my face and said no he can’t even tho it was a glitch in their system. Please call to place your order, because they don’t care about other people, time and gas if there system glitch.
While most may go for the seafood… I go for the atmosphere and the drinks by Sarina!! She never misses, her attitude is always welcoming!! So much so, I have her schedule plugged in on my calendar.. BEST BELIEVE if she in there, I’ll be at the bar!! You can keep the seafood, let me get two strawberry Hennessys and whatever else she come up with!!
Maybe this place just known for drinks but for my first experience there it wasn’t pleasant. We were seated immediately okay so no wait. Waited 20 mins before we got a waitress to order another waitress whom was just walking past took the drink orders and said that the waitress assigned to us would be over shortly. After ordering which I ordered fish & sweet potato fries & receiving our food I was eating and long be hold a string of hair and it was as if the hair was in the batter with the fish & fried with it 🤮🤮.The manager attitude was very rude about it telling me she can recook it BUT I STILL GOTTA PAY. ATP I asked her would you still want to eat after you find hair in your food and she walked off. The waitress for our table came back and said don’t worry bout it and took it off. Definitely not a restaurant I wanna keep going back to after a first bad experience 🤦🏾♀️
Firstly,...the Rap music that was somewhere around 100 decibels LOUD was so obnoxiously uncomfortable that we couldnt even hear each other talk. We literally had to YELL. So we high tailed it out. Im from California and have spent most of my life on and in the ocean. Ive been to some of the best Seafood restaurants on the west coast and was a cook on a charter fishing boat in the Pacific. Im a pretty fair judge of quality Seafood and to know the difference between a congenial atmosphere,....and what is not. This joint did NOT cut the mustard with me. A Seafood restaurant thats landlocked and 3 hours from the coastline better be on their game if theyre going to be worthy of remembering.⚓🇬🇧⚓
The food is very similar to Juicy Crab in Augusta. They have options for 1/2 lb boil bags, but its slightly more pricey. The quality of the fried stuff was not great, but the seafood is definitely good. The shrimps are also big (theyre more like prawns) and the cost is justified. They also give you a free boiled egg but you have to ask for it, which is a plus over juicy crab. Overall it has a bit better seating but the music is loud sometimes, so be prepared for that.
They let trainees serve and when they mess up you still pay because of their policy. Maybe not let ppl on the floor until they are actually ready . And I’ve never had a server stand over me and wait for a sig on a receipt ever. It was weird. Service alone a reason to not go back. And sent over another staff member, not a manager. Yes we saw you go to the back and then come back with no one. What a joke.
Located off the Augusta west parkway in the Augusta west Plaza Top Crab Seafood and Bar is a fantastic place to get your favorite seafood boil.Seafood boil is the generic term for any number of types of social events in which shellfish, whether saltwater or freshwater, is the central element. Regional variations dictate the kinds of seafood, the accompaniments and side dishes, and the preparation techniques (boiling, steaming, baking, or raw).We have ordered from here several times the most recent visit unfortunately was during the COVID-19 restrictions so we obviously did takeout. The food was still piping hot when we got home and just as good.I got the shrimp and sausage with the corn and potatoes and I loved everything! It was double bagged in the spicy boil liquid and pretty decent quality and quantity. I will definitely keep coming back as long as we live here. So, check out the Top Crab Seafood and Bar. Hopefully everything will open back up and you can get the full experience of dining in at this fantastic restaurant.
For start.... they need more organization with the waiting list... we saw empty tables with 1 hour wait list on Saturday night. .. we are juicy crab fans... so far... juicy crab is a better... here, the house sauce is too salty for me.But... the environment is good and looks more clean than Juicy crab.Overall...we will be back!!!
Went to the bar and and sat down at the second only available seat, the first one had somebody’s leftover sucked down to the bone chicken wings and fries tray, so I skipped it. The bartender an older black woman approached closer to me and told me That I couldn’t sit right there with an slight attitude, I overlooked the attitude and asked her where I could sit since the only other chair was dirty, without looking up she said I’d have to wait till she could tell the bust boy to clean it off and walked away in the opposite direction of the kitchen to laugh with some other customers… my friend and I just left because she came off really rude and disrespectful. I just wanted a drink after a long day of working on cars🤷🏾♂️
The food was pretty good. They say you get free mussels with your low country boil but if you check out the prices you were actually paying for those mussels versus anywhere else that you go to for Lowcountry boil‘s in this area. They start out at $30 and then the other places in our area that have low country boils start at 25 to 26. So don’t believe your mussels are free. You are paying for them…I think my only complaint was there was way way way too much riffraff in the restaurant on a Sunday. Did not sit and enjoy each other’s company due to all the noise that these other people were making. Happy hour on a Sunday? Several large groups in our small crunched area having birthday celebrations. People moving around and not eating, bumping our chairs. Not a repeat spot for us! Also the Lowcountry boil had way too much grease and chunks of garlic. All in all it was not a good experience.
Usually a very pleasant experience. Food and drinks are great! Tonight was awful! They gave our order away that we called in, and told us the people were otw to bring our order back and really tried to give us food that had went home with someone else. We drove from another county to be told our food was on the way back to the restaurant. The order taker had a terrible attitude after I asked why they didn’t offer to recook our food. Will not be returning.
My second time going to this place and I will never go back. First time I sat at the bar, had drinks, ordered soup and everything was good. Bartender was nice and attentive.Second time dining in with my family and horrible service. My son ordered fries, onion rings and asked for condiments but that never happened. My daughter got a appetizer and never got cocktail sauce after asking several times. My drink was definitely not a double that I requested but I wasn’t going to argue. I actually asked for a second drink to get it 30 Min later and it was a whole different drink. I absolutely drank cause I was just over it at that point. And it was stronger so I suppose that is a positive.Lastly was some black thing floating in my daughter’s drink and I showed the waiter so they could be aware but he was completely unbothered. He brought another but no apologies.Again the food is good but get it to go and check your drinks. The seafood is actually good though aside from the garbage service. I tip 25 percent but it hurt me to leave him 10 percent cause I couldn’t leave nothing.
One star because the food is always great! Overall customer service was horrible. The rude waitress came to our table only one time. Never got refills on our drinks, went to the front to get assistance from the manager so our party of 5 could at least pay for our meal. It took 4 employees to argue about who is splitting our check up. I asked for a manager multiple times but NEVER got to speak to one. The “manager on duty” acted like she didn’t know what to do. Experience was horrible but food was good!
Went to top crab on Saturday, had taste for fish,my friend say it were good ,order 2 dinners ,I had catfish and sweet potato fries, hubby tipilaFish and fried rice, the fish too salty, toosoft, too soft, as the fish were double dip the fried fried were very light brown were dissatisfied will not go back.
So I’ve always been a fan of top crab until today . I ordered a half pound of shrimp with top crab seasoning and for some reason they did not taste as good as they usually do . So I told the waiter and she told the owner , he basically came out the back to explain that they received the shrimps from a different location which is why they might’ve tasted differently . I said okay but they didn’t taste as if they were fresh , he stated that they were fresh and he wanted to assure me of it as the owner he was concerned . So I said okay I want the shrimp , I’m sitting here waiting for the shrimps to be done again and they never came . The waiter informed me that he said he was not making anymore because they would taste the same . Not all the shrimps tasted bad I told him the ones with the black spots on them were the ones that tasted bad . But I still did not receive any shrimps . Very disappointed .
The food was great, but the service Amani wasnt. I was told my service went to the store in the midst of waiting on us. When she came back, she had a bag with lashes in them. And then again disappeared 😒. We had to chase her down to place a Togo order, but what we didnt have to chase her down for was the check.
We had a great experience. My wife enjoyed the mild garlic snow crab and I didnt exactly like my extra spicy garlic butter snow crab/crawfish/clams but I just dipped it in my wifes garlic butter no problem. Mine wasnt exactly spicy or flavorful but we had good amounts and a decent price. The prices on the website arent exactly correct though. They said over the phone like 8.99 for crawfish but it was 11.99 when I checked out. But it was still good.
Im a seafood lover and tried several seafood place and this is the best seafood boil place in the area. We go here almost every week. The staff are great especially Peaches and Mani and the owner Vivian is also amazing. Always goes above and beyond and have fixed any issues we had with them like the overcooked shrimp. Cant go a week without my sefood fix with them!
We stopped in on our way home from Savannah and we’re glad we did! We had Sienna as our server and she did a PHENOMENAL job! She was helpful, knowledgeable and so sweet. She helped us with menu recommendations, offered drink refills and more sauce without us asking and was overall a pleasure. She made our experience so great!!I don’t want to leave out the food experience too. The food was delicious! We got the crawfish boil and coconut shrimp. The portion sizes were very generous, flavors were incredible and the food was fresh. We’ll be back when we’re in town!
The crab were fresh but not enough flavor for me. Service wasnt very good. We asked for hot sauce and it was served in a bowl and we had to ask for condiments it took an extremely long time to get them. If Im in the area and wanted seafood, I would go back.but I wouldnt make a special trip to go there. Sorry to say.
Very nice establishment. Customer service is beyond awesome . Our sever jay was very very helpful. . Told us that the drink I have I can’t remember the name of it lol. But they only allow you to get one of them if you don’t have a DD . It has five different liquors in it. To me that’s what a bar should do in general wish I could give them more stores than 5.
First let me start off by saying this is a place I like to eat at when I am in Augusta, GA. The food is fantastic! I did not think the food could taste any better, but it did. Our waitress NiNi was absolutely fantastic. She took care of us exceptionally well. She brought things to the table we would need before we even had a chance to ask for them. Then any additional things we asked for she got them with no hesitation. So if ever in Augusta visiting family or on business visit Top Crab and ask to be seated in NiNis section. You will not be sorry!!
I had that greasy, mediocre low country boil. The best thing in the boil were the corn, potatoes and sausage. The crab and the shrimp were both overcooked. That waitress we had was rude, the hostess was rude and very disrespect, the bus boys kept bumping into our table. The place is small, hot, loud, overcrowded. Top Crab is more of a club than a nice seafood spot. This is a low class, jam spot that servers seafood.
Didnt even know this place was here. Was headed shopping to the At Home store and this caught our eye. Loved the decor as soon as we walked in, heard good music. Service by Peach was top notch and all of the food was delivered to our table hot! Will definitely be coming back.
Ok, so I come here ALL of the time, I’m pretty sure if I sat down one of the waitress would remember me because I always got her. I also order for pick up sometimes. With that being said yesterday I had an order, the women who answered the phone didn’t understand my order it seemed. I asked to speak with someone else and she told me no, I went over about 6 times with her to make sure my order was correct. She then went over what she had for me and that was that. Come pick up I get home and I HAVE EVERYTHING IN MY BOIL . And the calamari was so rubbery, mind you when pick up orders are done I ALWAYS get a call back letting me know it’s ready and I only like around the corner, but I didn’t get a call this time. So once the 15 minutes were about over I headed here. Anyways when speaking to the manager Vivian, she couldn’t even get my order right to know what I had, I asked to speak to another manager she said there’s no one else. So I tell her about 4 times what’s wrong and then she tell me to bring my food back, I’m sorry but where I work due to Covid-19 protocol and all, we do not take back any food we hand out to our customers. Then she tells me she is to busy right now to discuss this and she needed to call me back, when I had already told her I have to be at work. This was very unprofessional! There was no calling me back and I couldn’t go back last night due to me having to head to work. She then tried to blame the kitchen staff!!! No. This was the work of the person answering the phone because the order was rung up wrong! I’m honestly disgusted at how this went. Never have I dealt with anything like this, this is literally my favorite place to come out of Augusta in general and to have dealt with this was a smack in the face because usually safe are AMAZING. I’ve never had problem with my calamari ( most likely because it had sat there which I can take my part in because I shouldn’t have waited for them to call even though they always do ) and I get it all the time. & never had I have issues with my order. I always thought a 5 star was not enough but now with the staff working the front smh. Terrible. ESP to blame your staff members under you in the back? What time of “manager” are you? Now I’m not sure if the black women who usually works nights when I come in doesn’t work here anymore or if she is just off but she definitely needs to come back.
Food was good. place was packed and lively. Nice atmosphere with good music at a reasonable volume. Our waiter was cool but kinda forgot about us for what seemed like 20 -30 minutes. Both couples to the left and right of us ordered and ate before we got our order in. That was annoying but the good long island iced tea made it less frustrating. We would go back for sure but hoping for a better waiter next time.
Tried to book for a party of 30 around 7 PM for a Saturday. They said they can’t cause it’s their busiest time. But what’s the difference in 30 random people coming in or a group of 30 coming in? Either way money is made. I wasn’t asking for the place to shut down and host only us. Just a request to be sure we all would be seated close together as it’s a 17th birthday celebration for my daughter. I get they are busy during that time making room for 30 people wouldn’t make your business slow down. May bring in more customers as they would then know they could/would be accommodated. My daughter was really looking forward to eating here as it’s her favorite place. But from here on I will take my business elsewhere.
Take service was great! Fast, friendly and professional. The downside was the shrimp were hard to peel and so were the crab legs. The crab legs had very little meat in the shells. Maybe it was because of it being Christmas eve and they probably had been cooked for a while due to how busy they were. 😔
I placed a to go order for 3 different boils. My family couldn’t even eat it because it was too salty. I called the restaurant to let them know about my experience and the woman suggested that I bring it back in so that they could make it over or that I add water to it. She also said that some people enjoy it that salty. I personally don’t see how anyone could enjoy that much sodium. Just a horrible experience. I won’t ever go back to this restaurant.
I love Top Crab over any seafood and bar in Augusta. The food is great and the bar service, bartender Candice is over the top with the service. Candice is very friendly, social, and can multi task. There’s nothing like having a bartender that knows what u drink when u walk in the door. 💯💯💯
This is my second and last time here. First time, maybe a fluke or a bad day. Second time, naw. This is real life. I dont play baseball so I dont give three chances. I sat at the bar. Bartender is spread thin so I am extremely patient. Apparently there are people who come there frequently because she interacted with them heavily and forgot to even ask if I wanted something to eat. At some point after I got her attention, I was able to order an appetizer. Between her phone, the orders from the tables, and her interactions with her regulars, I was able to ask for a fork. I received it. But I wanted food, too. So I wait. Patiently. Still she failed to ask if I wanted something to eat so I had to wave her down. Got her! Ordered! Food came. Bucket came. Im eating. Im afraid to ask for anything else but here I go. May I order a drink? I do! But right before her regulars order shots and whatever else they order and she gets orders from the tables so I wait... Eventually she looks up from her phone and sees me glaring so she is like o yea. And makes me the most watered down Hennessey Island I have EVER tasted. I had to order a shot of Hennessey in order to do something about it.As a former server, I was floored by her lack of concern for people who do not visit regularly. I was perturbed by the lack of customer service for her guests considering she found time to talk to her friends and even text on her phone. The seasoning on the food was disgusting but the best customer service can entice people to return.I wont.
Food was great, service was awful. The good: food was amazing! Very close comparison to juicy crab. Crab rangoons actually had filling and the mozzarella sticks tasted like any seafood place’s should. Food came out in a timely manner even for a Saturday with the place completely packed. The bad: it was a Saturday so we expected service to be a bit slow. Food did come out pretty quickly even under the circumstances. But we didn’t even get our drinks until after all our food came out. An employee knowingly knocked over one of our drinks as soon as it was on the table, took the cup away to get another and never came back. When our server came by to check on us she said she would grab him another drink but never came back. He was without a drink for the entire meal, and this is the type of food you need a beverage food. Eventually we hunted her down to get a drink. We knew it would be busy but if an employee knocks something over we’d expect them to get it out for us immediately.
This restaurant lost my food i ordered that I waited for over 30 munutes and when I asked about it they stated they working on it. Another 15 munutes and I ask the manager about it and she searched for it-- no food. So they cook us more and give us a freaking 10 dollar gift certificate. for their mistake. HELL the food should have been free; wrong fries and tasty tasting food.
Slow service. I am usually very fair about eateries.my brother and I went there Friday. It is the only time I can remember getting up and walking out of a restaurant. I only ordered a shrimp basket he ordered fish,45 minutes later no food. There were only 4 tables that had patrons. The waiter made excuses but I actually think he forgot to put our order in.
Went last night for their soft opening. The food and service was really great on the first night. I ordered the make your own combo with a lobster tail, shrimp, and crab legs. The seasoning I chose was a garlic butter/lemon pepper mix with a light spice level. Other family members chose a fried chicken strip combo with fries, and they were satisfied as well. Our server Benjamin was great! We look forward to trying them out again!
My wife and I made our maiden voyage tonight and we were not disappointed!! We picked out three meats, done in the Top Crab Special seasoning and mild. The food was delicious! Our waiter was surprised we left nothing! Beware of the Blue Angel, unless you like it strong. Overall, I highly recommend Top Crab!
The bartender Candace is so good at her job always making sure the customers are satisfied . The food is really great . The atmosphere is incredible I just think they should add more food and put a DJ in there then TopCrab will take over Augusta for sure . But Candace !!! She is litttt🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯💯. Also Chris which is also another bartender who deserves everything that is coming to him . Great service every time I come . Always making sure I’m straight by any means . Even just talking about personal life situations he is a big plus to the TopCrab establishment Chris is definitely in my top 3 bartenders of all time !!! Shout out Chris and Candace two of the best to ever do it !!!
Service is poor and food took an hour to get out. Waiters were sitting down and talking to friends that came in even though new customers were coming inside. Were we waiting for out food for an hour about half capacity. Food was mediocre and not worth the waitedit: After receiving the bill, sadly found out that they include a service tax, despite having the worst service Ive ever seen.
The food was so good!!! For a grand opening I have nothing negative to say about this restaurant. There was no wait time. Seafood was fresh very well seasoned. The atmosphere was very warming and very well decorated with a Pacific Coast Boat. This would be a great restaurant for a family dinner or just a night out with friends. The owner was extremely nice and also wanted feedback to improve restaurant which there was nothing bad I could honestly say. So if your looking for a great place to eat this would definitely be a good place to go.Server was Tracy and she was amazing as well!!!
Lets start with the positives, the food was great! Ive been to a similar places and the food has been okay. At Top Crab all of my food was hot, and well seasoned. What I didnt care for was the service, they were pleasant and SLOW. For this reason alone, I will not return. Hopefully, this aspect will improve with time.
I honestly think the restaurant is entirely too loud to the point where they can’t even hear you over the phone or face to face to place an order. Even when I went to pick my order up I had to literally yell my phone number 4xs. There was no social distancing and masks were not being worn by staff properly. The girl Mya completely screwed my order up. Ordered 1pound of shrimp, received half a pound, asked for head on, received head off, asked for garlic butter WITH seasoning, received just butter, asked for an egg, no egg!! I mean I literally received the opposite of everything I asked for. Didn’t even realized until I got home. So disappointed because I could’ve cooked my own shrimp and poured plain butter on them. ALSO, this is my 3rd time trying them because they are a tad cheaper than juicy crab but the shrimp are hard to peel and the corn is mushy. I went for the flavor and didn’t get it.. going back to juicy crab
This place was trash. The drinks were trash. Cocktail tasted like lime juice and the other tasted like sink water. The food lacked seasoning just water and grease. The lobster was high price and very small. My shrimp was bigger than my lobster. The best about the whole meal was the water.
So I went during the soft opening and I knew it was going to have issues, and they did. Too many to tell but it was a soft opening and they had an amazing special. Since then I returned with much better results. The food was great the staff friendly restaurant clean. Was it perfect no but its still a new restaurant so be prepared for issues. But expect amazing food.
Top Crab is definitely one of the best seafood restaurants in Augusta Georgia not only because of the food but also because of the service.Everytime I visit I’m fortunate enough to have a great bartender by the name of Candice Long who definitely knows how to make a customer feel at home. Candice Long is one of the main reasons that me and my family and friends will always return to Top Crab.
Top Crab just didnt do it for me. I asked for my crab and shrimp to be extra hot and it was extra bland there was not hot seasoning at all. This was very disappointing. Although the shrimp was good the crab did not break out of the shell smoothly, it kept sticking to the shell and breaking in half. I cant say that I will be a returning customer. I was not pleased with the flavor.
I ordered raw oysters as an appetizer and had to wait 20 minutes for them ( they are raw, what’s the hold up?) when the oysters arrived to the table they were served on a pan with 4 packs of crackers.. no ice... no cocktail sauce.. no Horseradish... (insert confused and frown face) also the appetizer came out 3 minutes before the meal ( defeating the point of ordering an appetizer) the main meal was pretty good as far as taste goes. No complaint there, And the staff was friendly. It’s Not a bad place to try but I won’t go out my way for a return visit.
Slightly better than juicy crab and definitely more convenient only because its closer to home some small variations in terms of comparisons to juicy crab on Washington road is that the low country boil here at top crab came with three short corn on the cobs as compared to two at juicy crab and also you had one more boiled egg then juicy crab and when ordering low country boil it came with three primary ingredients rather than two and those three were sausage crab legs and shrimp and that was the basic order of course new potatoes came with both orders from both places wait staff was great engaging and not familiar with the bar drink prices they do have a happy hour so do the other places and on Fridays the day that I went I went in early about 20 minutes to 4:00 and things started picking up quickly after that it being Friday predominantly it Payday for most folks it got packed in a short time this place hasnt been there long but the crowds definitely come so that tells you irregardless of my arrival that the food is definitely good or they wouldnt be coming back or the place wouldnt be packing them in prices are competitive with the other places theres also a place in North Augusta which I have not visited yet but will soon do so these places are predominantly laid back with an older school music flair I also like the fact when they brought the bucket with a plastic bibs gloves eating utensil packets they came with a handy wet wipe in the utensil package that did not happen at the other place aforementioned casual dining not to be missed
The crabs where a little small but the shrimps made up for it. Customer service was great, my dish was too hot and spicy after I said nothing hot or spicy. The staff corrected it by bringing a whole new plate (no hot or spicy food). Also they have the best Crab ragoons in town! Ive made many trips to the restaurant just to order Crab ragoons! I give this store a 10...
It was OKAY. We were met with friendly service and a good time....it distroyed my stomach havent had any sleep, messed up our movie...running to the bathroom. Dont do the steamed oysters for an appetizer they arent as fresh as I would perfer...I like to open mine myself...I wanted it to be good so bad!
Season was good but only if the crab had meat in them. The legs was big but no meat!!!! I was in disbelief!!! And when I complained they looking at me like that wasn’t possible. The meat must was left in the sea cause the crab legs was nothing but legs!!!! That’s what I get I should’ve just stuck with juicy crab!!!! $50 for two clusters shrimp sausage egg & potatoes was some bull
Buyers and Sellers of real estate cause me to travel throughout Georgia to assist them. Four Sellers of landlots in Waynesboro, GA hired me to sell their land so my client and now friend, Rhonda B, drove 162 miles to photo the land. W Googled Seafood Restaurants and Top Crab was 1 of 5 places that came up. Rhonda and I mutually agreed to go to Top Crab. It was an EXCELLENT decision! Great atmosphere, super friendly staff, very clean (including the bathroom) and the food was outstanding! The prices are in keeping with seafood prices. Soooo worth every dollar!!!!
Hows the food? I dont care:This restaurant recently opened and caused the Hibachi buffet restaurant (which never sold alcohol) located a few doors away to close. Is the bar responsible for the arguement that occurred inside leading to the gunfire (6-25-20) that started outside? Those shots landed inside and injured someone.
So as a loyal customer to juicy crab. Top crab is a great alternative location. The resturant is spacious with great seating. Bar sits about 12 customers and has a wide variety of imported beer as well as liquor. The menu has a variety of fried and boiled food to choose from. My wife had the crab rangoon and she said it was good. Top crab offers a 10% military discount which is awesome due to the proximity to fort gordon. The price is alot cheaper than juicy crab, for a meal for two with beverage an app we paid about $60. Not a bad deal. As for the presentation of the food, they bring it out in a bag with the juice and sauce already mixed. The problem with this is they watered the food down that you can not taste the seasoning. As i compare Top Crab to Juicy Crab i will have to give the edge to juicy crab when it comes to taste. I only had the crab legs and did not try the rest of the menu. However due how much closer it is to my home compared to juicy crab. I will visit again and try more on there menu. Over all i give them 4stars because the price is right, closer to my home an there was no wait. But Top Crab will have to work on there flavor and taste for the crab bags. So if you dont want to go to a less affordable seafood location that serve similar food to Juicy Crab, Top crab is your spot. Top crab will be a good competitor for JC so lets see who will come out on top. I will recommend for people to try this resturant.

2022-02-21The coating or batter is great. Clam chowder was thick and flavorful. Hubby and I both got the Cajun fries, seasoned not spicy, he had the fried shrimp and I had shrimp and catfish. Kiddo got chicken tender kids meal. Tender my foot, that was like half a chicken breast for each piece. The tater and cocktail sauce are made there Im willing to bet. Food was super hot and fresh.

2021-11-30The best seafood around. My server was marquell and he made sure we were happy the whole time. The food was excellent. A little pricey so be prepared. I was upset with the calamari. I wont order that again here. The coconut shrimp was actually coconut battered fried shrimp. And my low country boil was as expected.

2021-11-17On an extended visit from Brooklyn, NY and came here based on a rather persistent Hotel reccomendation. Very popular location and for good reason. Well managed, clean, great service, convenient location, excellent food quality and competitive pricing. Food is made to order and well seasoned (highly suggest the Top Crab original seasoning, I got Medium but couldve gone hotter). Sweet Tea is just sweet enough, Cajun Fries were fresh and crisp, Oysters were well made but slightly over seasoned, King Crab/Dungeness was well seasoned and accompanied Sweet Corn/Potatoes were tender and well made. Dirty Martini could use some love however it is a casual Seafood spot, Beer is a better choice particularly the local favorite Sweetwater 420. Just be prepared for messy eats and a very bustling environment (this is not a 1st date location).

2022-06-26Ive been twice, and both times food was excellent. Service the second time was very good, server was friendly and attentive, even though it was extremely busy. Definitely my new favorite place to get seafood. Seafood boil is seasoned perfectly, and very fresh. Clam chowder is also excellent. Seems homemade, and not your standard mediocre chowder most places serve.

2022-02-18Great food, especially the Thai chili garlic flavored wings! The atmosphere is nice and service is exceptional especially at the bar. One particular bartender makes some of the best drinks I’ve had to date, she calls her selection the candy bar. Initially I thought the “candy bar” would be a little too sweet for me but turns out she knows how to deliver the best mixes. Just be careful with those candy bar drinks because they catch up to you fast 😆

2022-03-01The food is excellent, Top crab seasoning was A-1, the atmosphere was great, it was a full house and music was playing so it was a little loud but it was nice when they come around and almost the whole place participates when they sing Happy Birthday. They were also very accommodating. We had one too many people and they allowed us to put an extra seat in the aisle. Our server Prada was the best! I would definitely recommend if youve never been there!
