Columbus Mixed Martial Arts & Fitness has been the best part of our experience in Columbus! Our whole family takes classes at this gym. We absolutely love each class we attend. Everyone from the awesome instructors, amazing staff and the other members have instilled motivation, strength and confidence to each member of my family. I will be very sad when we have to move on to another state.
My name is Victor Meadows. I started going to Columbus Mixed Martial Arts & Fitness just a few months ago and since then I have lost 21lbs. My self-confidence has sky rocketed. This is a great place and environment for anyone that is trying to get in shape, train mixed martial arts,begin a new hobby or just improve your life in general. The coaching staff are great. Everyone there is really nice and respectful. There has never been a time that I went to class and didnt learn something from both my coaches and my peers.You will know how to defend yourself and build your cardio up.I hear a lot of people talk about getting in shape but most dont. Give this place a go and I promise you will be in the best shape you have ever been in.
I would give a lot more stars if I could. My son has been going to after school and MMA for almost 4 years now. They staff are great and really listen (love you Alison and Rae). The MMA coaches are like family. They are a big part of the wonderful, respectful, compassionate, and fun loving kid my son has become. He holds their opinion is high regard. Thanks Simon, Colton, Mike, Tyler, Kent, Shawn and of course he loves Dominic. We love this place.
This is an awsome gym straight out.. my son has been going here for right at a year now. He has always done good in school but coming here with the attention and dedication of teaching martial arts from these coaches he has become much more confident in who he is today. He is now in leadership and always stays on point in and out of the gym with helping others and showing the black belt spirit! I give an A+ to the Owner and Coaches at the well run gym both for kids and adults.
My children attend classes and have become part of the family here. The things they have learned from the instructors have helped them to achieve greatness not only in school, but in every aspect of their lives. The instructors genuinely care about their students excelling in all age groups. I would recommend MMA of Columbus to anyone interested, hands down it is the greatest thing my children have ever been involved in for fitness, confidence, and honor!
Really great place. My son has been part of the black belt club since March and in the past months his attitude has changed so much. Hes not as shy as he was when he first started out, his respectfulness has gone up a lot saying yes maam/sir no maam/ sir to adults. He has grown in martial arts and also outside. Im really glad I put him in because its not just a club sport you go to and do practice and then youre done. The kids go and learn martial arts but also life lessons. The coaches are really great with them and actually do try to make a connection.
My two kids and I have been going to Columbus MMA for about four months now and have had a great experience. The coaching staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. The kids program is geared towards them learning good technique and also to have fun. The facilities are very clean and have lots of options to cover the whole mma experience with the coaching there to support you in your mma journey with a schedule that seems to meet working adults needs. Lastly, the environment is family oriented and you can reach your fitness or mixed martial arts goals at this facility whatever age you are.
My 15 year old son and I both have been training here for almost a year and a half now and it has been amazing. I also just recently started my 5 year old in the kids classes and my wife does boot camp here. The coaches are amazing and dedicate their selves to ensure you are getting very good training. Whether you just want to come to train and get a workout or eventually fight this is the place to come. There is no were else in Columbus you will get these level of coaches to teach you. Its a very friendly palace to come and train theres no egos here and everyone helps each other. This gym is like one big family. If you have bee. Debating on were to train look no further and come give Columbus MMA a chance and I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
I love working here! Great atmosphere with fun drills that promote good behavior and builds character. It also allows the kids to challenge themselves. Very professional, highly recommend!
I love this place! I have 5 years old twins, Mike and Alex, who now attending this awesome program since September. We are attending the Gentian Blvd. location and my children and myself love it. The staff is amazing! They care so much about the kids, I have never seen that before. They take it very serious and make sure to teach the kids discipline, respect and what it takes to be a black belt. My highest Thank you and much respect for Coach Matt, every time I have asked for help, especially in school matters, he went out of his way to help. He runs this facility professionally and makes sure, the kids and parents feel welcomed and safe. I can only recommend it to everyone, the staff really works with you on every detail!! Thank you to the team on Gentian (only because Ive never been to Veterans) for all you do to make my life easier and make sure my children have a wonderful day!
My daughter started mma at Columbus Mixed Martial Arts & Fitness when she was 3 years old. She loves coming here. Here coaches are fun, friendly and do an excellent job teaching her mma skills in a fun way. Within a few months I noticed an improvement in her confidence, coordination, obedience and respect for others. In addition, I love that the fun techniques she learns provide her with a great defensive tool in the event that anyone should try and harm her. Despite my initial concerns, I have had no problems with her acting out aggressively, nor have I had any issues with her getting hurt while participating in one-on-one activities with other children (she is much smaller than most of her peers). The coaches are not only masters of their craft, they are excellent teachers for pupils of all ages. I definitely recommend Columbus Mixed Martial Arts & Fitness.
I have attended Columbus MMA & Fitness for 2 months now and believe it to be an extremely invaluable investment. Putting the improved fitness and camaraderie that accompanies the classes aside, attending BJJ and Striking classes here has helped me develop and mature as an individual. The discipline expected of the students has forced me to become a better person outside of the gym, and dedication seen in the gym is inspiring. If youre looking for some exercise, or even trying to learn a little bit of self defense, this is definitely the place.
I have been with Columbus Martial Arts Academy for a good while now, and my desire to train with the best martial arts community has not diminished one bit. I was first impressed by how family friendly and supportive Columbus Martial Arts Academy is, so much so that I signed up my wife and son just a few weeks after I did. They have an incredible staff and top notch coaches for BJJ, Muay Thai, and MMA. Dont take my word for it, just come on by and check us out for yourself. I know you will love it like I do.
When my daughter first asked could she try martial arts, I was against it. I thought that all the were going to be doing was training to fight. Boy was I wrong! Columbus Mixed Martial Arts is a very welcoming family environment that not only trains children in the physical aspect but instills discipline, perseverance, courage and leadership in the kids. Im grateful to the coaches and staff for making my daughter believe that anything is possible for her as long as she works hard and is disciplined.
One of my favorite programs, especially for my daughter who changes her mind constantly. I was sold as soon as they indicated transportation from school was included. Love working with the staff, the coaches actually take the time to interact and engage with my daughter. The staff constantly communicates with me and it puts my mind at ease. With all the options that can interest my child, it has helped broadened her interests. I love this place and do not want to PCS! My daughter has had the joy of playing with other children from her school and others. The best bet for parents wanting their child to engage in extra curricular activities but just don’t know what. UYS offers the option to switch out programs, Noelani has had a great time from martial arts, to popular STEAM and is loving drama. She is always happy to tell me the couches encourage her and provide room to grow.
This is the absolute best camp ever! We have been to 3 other places and my son hated it!! At the other places, we had issues with the teachers, other kids and with my son getting bored throughout the day. He loves Ultimate Youth Sports and he comes home tired everyday. He even wants to go to camp when I’m off work. All of the coaches are very friendly and approachable. The camp separates the kids into age groups like most other camps, but they enforce a strict discipline policy no matter who you are. This camp engages the kids into a variety of challenging activities, games and physical activity. The best part about the camp is the time frame works well with my schedule. Most camps are half day, but this camp is a full day camp all summer. They also offer after school care. We love Ultimate Youth Sports!
My 7 year old son started in Feb because he was basically an easy target for bullies at school although he hadnt had any physical problems yet I wanted to make sure he could protect himself if the need arose. It didnt take long for him to gain the self confidence and ability to feel strong enough to be a leader and in some cases a defender of other kids. He has gained strong role models who encourage not only physical, but character building qualities as well. He has made many friends through the gym and he feels welcome and at home here. In addition to jujitsu and MMA classes he participated in the summer camp and I practically have to drag him out of the gym! I am proud to have my son be a part of this gym and recommend it to any parent out there.
Absolutely the best place to be if you want to learn self defense and fitness. My family and I have been a part of the gym training for over a year and love it. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I have two children that go to Ultimate Youth Sports for after school and they absolutely LOVE IT! Everyone from the front desk to the coaches are always so nice & welcoming. My two children cant say enough good things about Coach Mike! Would fully recommend this program to any parent looking for a place for their children. 👍🏻
This has been one of the best decisions Ive ever made for my children. My kids were somewhat reserved and timid in the past but with the proven and positive methods the coaching staff has provided them their confidence has grown so much farther than I would of ever imagined.I have to say this about the coaching staff. Im not sure how the screening process works to find these coaches but what ever it was worked. Each and everyone of them is doing exactly what they should be doing in life. They offer a fun filled, safe environment that offers the kids a new challenge to overcome every day. With positive reinforcement my son in particular has become a real leader and I couldnt be more in awe of what theyve created in him. I have nothing but respect for the team at Columbus MMA and am so very grateful theyve touched our familys lives.If youre on the fence about placing your child in the program in this gym, please take my advice and do it. Your child will grow far beyond your imagination.
I love this gym! The coaches and facility are helpful in every way for all ages. The martial arts classes are great for beginners who want to try something new and fun. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great work out physically and mentally.
Columbus Martial Arts is AWESOME. From the time I came in I was greeted with a smile by all the staff that I came by. It is a Great atmosphere to be in and very motivating. One instructor named Matt changed my point of view on how to look at martial arts and since then its made a difference on how I perform as well increase my passion for martial arts tremendously.
We are a military family and have experienced several after-school facilities. UYS is by far the best! Right from the start, Tyler was fantastic at making us feel comfortable and getting us the package we needed. Our son started attending karate and has advanced quickly and really enjoys it. All the coaches are attentive, concerned, and involved. They make things easy for the busy parents by texting. We especially love their “Parents Night Out/ Nurf War” nights. My boys love this place. They have been going for years and look forward to each and every summer. The coaches go above and beyond to give the kids the best experience possible. Field trips or special events almost every week. I appreciate the structure and disciple that the boys have developed since attending ultimate youth sports I can really tell the difference. Ive been studying mixed martial arts at Columbus MMA for the past six months, and I highly recommend this outstanding school. I started training there when my family and I moved to Ft. Benning this summer. I was looking for a Muay Thai Kickboxing gym, and Im really happy I found Columbus MMA. The instructors there are exceptional. Master Cha, the Muay Thai instructor, is one of the best Muay Thai coaches in America. He was a Thai boxing champion, and I feel very lucky to train with him. The other coaches at Columbus MMA are also great martial artists and very good people.My 17 year old son also trains with me at Columbus MMA. The school has programs for every age and ability. I like how they focus on traditional martial arts values, such as respect, discipline, honor, courtesy, etc. Every class at Columbus MMA is a great workout. If youre looking to get in better shape, the Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes are a great way to quickly improve cardiovascular endurance, strength, flexibility, and balance. Most importantly, studying mixed martial arts will give you real self defense skills... and make you tougher physically and mentally.Columbus MMA is an excellent school with a spacious facility, great instructors, and an environment that feels like family. You should check it out!
My family has been going to MMA Columbus for almost two years. I began in the Womens Kickboxing and Boot Camp classes which was awesome. However they incorporated the KB with Muay Thai. I am loving the Muay Thai classes, especially being trained my World Champion Master Cha and Coach Anton. Our son attends the leadership BJJ which he has enjoyed.
If your looking for a MMA & Fitness school that is on par with the best in the world, you found it!! I look forward to going to practice every week!!! I started off as a just your ordinary Martial Arts Mom in February. Little did I know this program was more than just martial arts, my son ended up spending Spring Break at the UYS camp and was looking forward to spending summer break there as well!Bryson loves it, I love it...the camp coaches are beyond wonderful, attentive, enthusiastic and caring! Ever since Ive joined Columbus Martial Arts Academy my life has changed. No only has this academy provided me with mentors it has changed the way I go about life. Columbus Mixed Martial Arts and Fitness is a great place to train. Ive trained martial arts for 10 years and I love this place. It is a family environment that is community oriented. There are Halloween and Christmas parties for everyone that are fun for adults and kids as well. Coach Simon attends leadership conferences every quarter to make sure that he and his coaching staff are giving their absolute best to their students. Master Cha and Professor Swift are extremely professional instructors who know how to put the training to use in the ring and in the real world. Professor Swift is an amazing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor who serves our community on the Columbus Police Department. The kids program teaches them to work hard and be accountable, have humility, and to serve others. They even fed the homeless at a shelter this Thanksgiving. Training here has made me a better martial artist, a better athlete, and a better person. Ive traveled the world training martial arts and the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai programs here are world class.
This is a great place for my son and I. My son is 4 years old and takes jiu jitsu classes, attends summer camp, and occassionally attends the after school program. Not only is he learning a martial art, having fun, and staying physically fit, but he is also gaining valuable social skills. The coaches there also encourage him to do well in school, be helpful at home, eat healthy, and to respect himself and others.I also take Brazillian Jiu Jitsu. Which not only teaches me self defense that will probably save my life one day, but it is keeping me in the best physical fitness shape I have ever been in. I love it! It is an excellent form of exercise, but I am so distracted by learning the art that I never get bored or even feel like I am exercising....IT IS FUN.The facility is clean and well equipped. The staff is friendly, approachable, accomplished, and are great instructors. The training partners have great attitudes and are fun to train with! I highly recommend for children and adults!
I love this place! I dont know what is better, the amazing coaches they have or the program they have come up with for the kids! My daughter loves the coaches and the students here with her. They offer a ton of activities so shes never bored. They do outside sports, yoga, dance, karate, drama, tumbling, stem and so much more. I couldnt have found a better afterschool/ summer camp program for her to be a part of. Ive never had any problems with a single person here and they have helped her learn discipline for things that dont come naturally to her. They are encouraging and motivating in all the right ways. I love it here.

I totally love attending Columbus mma. Im a big guy so im normally shy away from gyms and working out, but a co-worker started telling me about his time there so I went and checked It out. who would have thought that I would become so attached to the people and instructors there. just started coming out of the shyness and learning peoples names. the instructors make it easy to learn and remember with repetition. I actually consider every one else in he gym as an extended family. we encourage and support each other when competing, they even set up events for kids so the parents can go out. in a nutshell I have had nothing but a positive experience at Columbus mma and will continue to attend...
Love this place!!! My daughter did BJJ here until we moved away. We want to come back to Georgia, just for this school! We have yet to find another that compares. The coaches are absolutely fantastic, and the kids are trained so well! They also have an amazing after school program, as well as an awesome summer camp!!!!!
Great place to train. Everybody there is humble and willing to help and teach, you really feel like youre part of a family. The Coaches take a genuine interest in not only your training but you as a person and they use this to help you find your strengths and show that your capable of doing things you didnt think possible. They also show you how to apply this to every day life so you are a better person. I am grateful I chose this gym and recomend it to anybody no matter your age or knowledge of BJJ or MMA
The gym is large and has plenty of open mat time. Instructors are very mindful of student progression and will clear up any questions on form, whether it be Muay Thai or Jiu-Jitsu. The gym also competes locally and conveniently sells equipment. I would recommend this gym to anybody who wants to find a new way to stay in shape, make a personal fitness goal, or excel in mixed martial arts.
Ive been attending Columbus Martial Arts Academy since April, each day I come to my Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class, theres always a staff member there greeting you with the biggest smile.Its a very family friendly environment good for kids and adults of all ages.But dont take my word for it, come in and see it for yourself.
My 4 year old has been going to the BJJ and MMA classes since Feb 2013 and he instantly loved everything about it. The coaches all have an amazing amount of patience with all of the children there. They have helped reenforce hard work and rewards based off that hard work, which is something not found in todays society. Its a great way to build discipline and give your child lots of exercise. I highly recommend this for anyone with children young or older.

My experience with Columbus Martial Arts have been just amazing. From the moment i walked in i was greeted with a smile. I took a Muay thai intro class with one of the striking instructor and he was very knowledgeable he answer every question I had about the martial art and the academy. The one on one experience was just amazing. i highly recommend to anyone who is trying to get and shape and haave fun doing it.
My son and I both attend Columbus MMA for multiple types of their classes. I can never fully put into words what theyve done to change our lives. My son has ADHD and attends the after school program. Since he has been a part of this his behavior has totally changed. This place is more than just a fitness center its a family! Ive never found a place that supports its members like them! This is not just the staff but the members! I will forever be indebted to them. Thank you!
Hands down the best environment for kids! In just 4 weeks my sons improved his attitude and his grades. The instructors are amazing! I really look forward to many more years with such an awesome group!
I signed my son up earlier this year and I am very happy with the classes so far. Back when I grew up taking Tae Kwon Do we would just stand there punching the air for minutes on end, or throwing kicks again and again and again. It was not practical fighting. These classes are very practical, they teach moves that actual fighters are using during UFC fights. Which is what I want my son to learn, how to practically defend himself from an aggressor. The instructors are good with the kids and my son likes all of them. My son is 4 and he understands what a 1 & 2 is with punches, takedowns, knee on belly, side mount, mount all are. Which is pretty good progress for the time he has been in there. The moves arent all about winning the fight by punching and kicking but through controlling the fight, which I believe are the keys to defending yourself.Cost: Classes arent cheap. Dont go in expecting it to be, but the quality of the classes are worth it in my opinion.One final thing I was impressed with, they have kids belts and adult belts. If your kid has been in there for years and attain the kids black belt when they turn 16 they get an adult blue belt, which I really like. It shows the difference in a kids maturity and an adults. Ive seen other Karate / Tae Kwon Do places with 12 year olds with the same belt as a 30 year old. Yes, they both may have been doing it for 8 years, but the 8 years the adult has been doing it is way different than that of the kid. So kudos to them for this distinction.The Brennan Family
We entered our son into martial arts for the first time with this community/family. He was very inattentive at first, and I wanted to pull him from the program, but he insisted he wanted to stay. I let him continue, and watched as the coaches with unwavering patience and devotion transformed my son. They taught him respect, discipline, and perseverance. We are forever grateful for the foundation they laid!
Ill start with the good. The actual Gym side of Columbus MMA, both the instructors and the facility itself, I would rank at 4.9 stars, hands down. The instructors are all very fun, knowledgeable, and helpful. I feel like I learned a lot, and had a great experience there with the exception of one small incident with one of the coaches being somewhat disrespectful. For the most part though, it really does feel like a cool group of people, and you will learn a lot and get a good workout.Now for the bad. The bad side of Columbus MMA, is the business side. They want your money, they want a lot of it, and they want it bad. Dont think for a moment that they wont mislead you to get it, in a very passive-aggressive way. From what Ive heard, this is the case with many gyms, and Columbus MMA is no exception. You will be heavily pressured to sign a contract immediately on the first night after your demo class with as little time to consider it as they can get you to agree to. You will be required to pay a ton of money in advance, and the classes themselves are expensive per month as well with a year contract. If you get upgraded to the advanced courses, which everyone will be after about three months, your payment nearly doubles, with an automatic three year contact. If you ever want to get out, god bless your soul. Theyll tell you the buy-out is one price, but its actually much higher, and youre required to give a 30-day notice with it, which means you may have to pay for another month you cant use if you dont know you have to cancel WAY ahead of time, which adds up to a lot. There is a cheaper option if youre moving, but you have to jump through several hoops, mail in a lot of paperwork that you may not be able to get if youre moving out of the country like I am, and theres about a two week evaluation period on the paperwork, so again, you may end up paying for a extra month you cant use. I think its only fair that people get a warning. Do not let them bully you into something you cant afford, and never be afraid to walk away and take more time to consider what youre getting into financially.
I joined MMA Columbus a little over a month ago to try to get out of my shell and get back in shape. I can be shy and unsure of myself at times. In the last month I have lost 5 lbs (still counting! My fitness test is next week!) and I have made some great new friends! The coaches are SO supportive and they are very knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to fitness and nutrition. I am in womens kickboxing and bootcamp, and I am there 4 days a week. It is becoming a home away from home for me. Soon, I will be trying the upcoming womens jiu jitzu class with another fantastic coach. Thanks to MMA Columbus, I am getting stronger, more confident, and more knowledgeable about what my body can do and how to treat my body for the best possible health. Oh, and I can also kick some butt, too ;)
Ive been going to this place for almost 2 months now. I was at a point in my life when I needed a little extra motivation as well as something interesting to learn and keep myself occupied. Diving head first into this has been one of the best decisions Ive made in several years. I started out in the entry Muay Thai class going 4-5 days every week. The guy that teaches it (Master Cha) is freaking awesome and hes pretty much a poster boy for the sport itself. Very thick accent and occasionally a bit of a communication barrier but he manages to communicate his points and lessons across well enough and I have nothing but mountains of respect and admiration for the man. Moving into the next tier of the program, Ive recently started cross-training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as a white belt and the coaches there (Dorothy and Mike) also seem very patient, capable and knowledgeable of the art even though Im absolutely terrible at it.The atmosphere is great, everyone is friendly, and there are tons of motivated people there that help keep a guy like me coming back and continuing to work on myself. Nothing but respect and appreciation for the people up there, truly.The only reason I dont give it 5 stars is because martial arts for me are just as much mental and personal sports as well as physical ones. I feel like there should be more financial flexibility that makes it feel more like youre earning your place instead of being required to buy into it as you move up through the various programs (Entry, Black Belt Club, Leadership, GOLD, and Coach). There should definitely be an active student discount that applies to the monthly fee as Im a full-time student at CSU right up the road and that would be very helpful to me and others similarly on a budget, but apparently that has been discontinued. Maybe this tapers off later and starts becoming more of a reward system in higher levels but as Ive only reached the Black Belt Club tier thus far, I cant currently confirm or deny that. If Google allowed half stars I would definitely rate this place with a 4.5 for that reason and that reason alone because the pros definitely outweigh the cons here.Once again, this is a great place to work on oneself and to meet motivated people that can keep you moving and motivated as long as you bring your own drive and mental fortitude to every class you can. I should also mention that this is one of the best workouts Ive ever gotten and Im quickly approaching being in the best shape of my life just by dedicating myself to doing this. Columbus MMA is definitely the place to go if you want to challenge yourself and you can come up with the money to fund it.
I absolutly love this gym! My 4 year old has been taking classes for about 9 months and LOVES everything about going. He begs to go to class. He has learned so much in class, made so many friends, and adores his coaches. Everyone at the gym treats us like family.
Scam. Beware.. i was advised that the cost of tuition was 700 but if I paid upfront i would only be 595 in all. After being talked into paying up front to get a discount, I was advised that this was not the case and they wanted an additional 600. Columbus martial arts and Ultimate Youth are the same company. Its a shame that they are able to operate in GA scamming children and their parents.
This place is the truth! I used to be in the military and ever since I became a civilian again, I could never find that sense of camaraderie... until I found Columbus Martial Arts. The instructors, the students, and the environment definitely has a family feel to it... and by feel I mean the pain! The training is great and the team knows how to push you to the edge of your precipice and some how break limits you didnt know you could. If its something youve been on the fence about, fall over into it!
Great place for every age or fitness level. They love the all kids that work with. The Muay Thai classes are a great way to end the day with workout good company and great coaches.

I like the fact that they offer different activities for the kids like martial arts, dance classes, tumbling classes etc. It makes it very convenient for a single parent like me. They really keep my child active and out of trouble. Great people, facility is clean, and family oriented place.
I absolutely looove this gym! Glad I signed up, totally worth it! I participate in the women fitness bootcamp and kickboxing! The work outs have me drenched in sweat, and I leave feeling confident and stronger. I truly feel like this gym is going to help me accomplish my fitness goals! I mean they got me running! I never been a runner, and never thought I could be. I totally have the urge to go running now! I highly recommend this gym to Everyone. One of the best decisions I made :)
What caught my eye about this facility is that they advertise how they can help develop your child’s character, build skills, structure, discipline thru martial arts they offer in their summer camp program. They offer other activities as well dance, tumbling, but the impression was mainly to be involved with and benefit from the martial arts. Hence the expensive weekly cost and purchase of the karate uniform. My son only had 2 “ classes” of karate since his start at camp. And came home to busting not one move learned from dance.During the 1st meeting as they call the “evaluation” they give you a walk thru after hours when the day is over. So you actually don’t get to see what goes on behind the live scenes. Even when camp starts you can’t go behind the front end area to greet or drop off, Or even to meet a coach, like hey your with my 5year old kid all day can I see your face meet you? Besides the check in lady?? Or check out the environment back there? Is it what you portray?You ask for a schedule of what the childs day/week consists of. They says it changes everyday and couldn’t provide a print out or even showcase a hard copy schedule on the bulletin board lobby.They have you starting payments the next day after the deposit is paid. They take your card information and even tho I paid in cash in full and every Friday prior to camp starting as contracted, they still took an extra $200.00 off my bank card on Memorial Day which then caused a huge issue with my finances. The payment was eventually voided, however 2 phone calls to Simon and 13 days later I have yet to even hear of a response of sorry or anything in regards to the bank issues I had. Zero billing customer service.Despite working as best as i could with them and the change of events regarding my son, (not anything financial) that they were not patient with us. They talk up about helping/doing for your child. But will quickly suspend even if the parent is working together with them.He was enrolled there for a total of nine days. For those nine days, a total of $900.00. Most expensive 9 days I ever did see. With the looks of not even a small type of refund.Advertising that portrays a false image that all parents especially Single parents should beware and people with tight income Beware!!!If you are going to try it out I highly suggest only doing small increments at a time such as 2 weeks instead that way you do not invest a ton of your money such as the summer program if it does not work out and you are not left screwed out of your money! Something they should advise to parents a head of time if they were honest.
The Instructors are great but the company is a scam.. They will keep on taking money from your account even if you told them that you are leaving. I regret taking my kids to this facility. Do not put your card number on their contract or information pay cash monthly if you ever say you will not be attending anymore they will continue charging your card for several months.Really bad experience if i can give zero i will. They will take your hard earned money.
My child is attending Ultimate Youth Sports this summer and she absolutely loves it! Coaches are amazing, activities are age appropriate and fun, they go on field trips weekly. Definitely recommended!!
Hello Hello good people, Ultimate youth sports is an incredible place filled with great staff that really care about the kids. It really has a family feel the minute you walk through the door. The best part about Ultimate youth sports is just watching the interaction between the kids and coaches. Honestly I wish I could give this place 10 stars instead of 5.
Ive been at this gym for about 2 months now and its been awesome! I attend both the Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class. The instructors are great from Master Cha, a world Muay Thai champion to Coach Simon who teaches BJJ. You will learn a lot from the instructors but be warned...you will most likely break a sweat even if you are the greatest athlete in the world! The tradeoff is that at the end of the night you will feel like a a hybrid between Tony Jaa and Brock Lesnar which is an outstanding feeling. The only thing I might add though is that the price might be a bit high especially if you attend both classes. There is also a sign up fee as well. All in all, I do recommend giving it a try if you can afford it. You wont regret it!
We love UYS. Our son has been going here for almost a year and we have had nothing but amazing experiences! T has become more confident and he always says the best part of his day is after school. The coaches are great and they have always shown they truly care a out timmy.
Love this place. My son has been attending UYS for a while now and I cant even explain how helpful this program is with my family. Great staff and the facility is very clean. As a single mom this place has helped me by making sure my son is in a safe environment while he waits for me to pick him up after work. They keep the kids active and mentorship is also provided.
Ultimate Youth Sports is an awesome place for students! The Staff cares about all students and they support the community by giving back and providing a place for youth to grow development and learn. I am proud of UYS they have great Programs for students and their parents. What an amazing group of people :-) Thanks!
I love this place! The staff is amazing, my son loves all of the activities that he can participate in when he is there, and he even wants to participate in the Parents Night Out so that he can go on a Saturday also! They are very organized and the staff wants to provide the best service possible to the parents and the children.
I had my child enrolled here in just the basic after school pick up and had several problems with the staff complaining about my child. This eventually led to the one week and multiple day suspensions. When you go visit they talk it up and make it sound like they’re going to do so much for your child but if you don’t pay for the extra classes they really don’t care about you or your child. I see the owner responding saying that safety is the number one concern but when I notified them that I was going to cancel my membership they offered to “pay extra attention to my child”. This proves that the number one concern for the owner is more memberships because this equals more money.
My family has been with UYS for several years and they love it! The staff is very caring and supportive, and with multiple mental and physical activities, after school care, and an amazing summer camp, my children look forward to being there. I would recommend this program to anyone!
The staff is super! Friendly, easy to speak with, knows what they are doing and they are great instructors, very patient! This is the 8th year my child has attended their summer camp, he loves it!
This is the best decision I have made for my son. He didn’t have the best experience at the Y but ever since we have been at UYS he’s made a ton of friends and when he come home all he can talk about are the activities they did for the day. His counselors are always there when he needs something and go above and beyond to care for him. I honestly couldn’t be happier with the results.
My son has been a part of this program for the last 3 years. He enjoys coming here and participating in the activities. I am content with the staff and the numerous activities and events that UYS provides. The staff is attentive to all needs, caring and courteous. They are also great with communicating with parents.
Please disregard all POSITIVE reviews about this company being that they were written by a former member of the staff. This is by far the WORST after school program in Columbus. If you aren’t paying a certain amount of money your child is NOT attended to properly! There is a new employee everyday, literally. The turn over is extremely HIGH due to the owner Simon and his wife madelynn whom are BOTH very nasty and malicious persons. They will charge your debit card for unexplainable charges. The vans DO NOT HAVE AIR! They are transporting children in unsafe vehicles and they dare the staff to voice their opinions about the safety hazzards. My child was being transported on one of the vans that had no air in 90 degree heat! As much money as they are charging ALL VANS SHOULD BE PROPERLY EQUIPPED! When my child comes home from martialArts she can’t even explain what she’s been taught which I don’t understand. Simon does not pay his employees and fires anyone who has the balls to speak up to him. Do not send your child to this establishment YOU WILL REGRET IT. Especially if you’re not white 😐.
When I walked in a month ago I had no interest in the gym at all. I arrived with a friend whom wanted to sign up for Muay Thai and Jujitsu, but as I was waiting along with him I noiced the dedication and discipline that the Womens Ftiness Boot Camp had displayed. By the time my friend signed thepapers and started his first day I was drawn in more by the lack of distraction, possible one on one time and also the motivating music. I expressed my interest in wanting to condition and lose weight for my short term goal, the military, and I was ensured I was at the right place. The process was easy and iwasnt railroaded with fees upfront and the payment plan is flexible To this day I havent had any regrets and only missed one day which I was pretty bummed about. The class is small and no one is left out no matter your weight, age, or capablities. I love the bonding of the womens only class because we help each other when falling short.the instructors are great and also complete the excercises with you as well. I recommend this fitness for all women of all sizes and trust me YOU WILL GET RESULTS!
Great instructors who are very passionate about martial arts !! I think thats its amazing that they teach beginners with just the right amount of knowledge and understand. I recommend this to anyone who wants to try something new and exciting!!
UYS is a wonderful facility for our children to learn how to protect, discipline themselves and to be respectful, helpful to others. We love and respect all the coaches there who love our kids and are trying hard to make a difference in their lives. UYS is a top-notch operation and is always professional!
I had it in my head that martial arts were based on Eastern philosophies that held HONOR and INTEGRITY at their core. I dont know about Brazilian ones and dont mean to disparage Brazil. But the management of this business has no Honor or Integrity. I was reluctant to sign up because we were having some diagnostics done on my son that would prohibit him from continuing his classes. They assured me that I could cancel within 30 days if this was the case. Well, it turns out that we needed to cancel. Even though my contract term was through May 30 of 2015, which meant it started on JUNE 1 of 2014, they refuse to HONOR their word...or even the intent of the handshake agreement, as they have admitted that I informed them that we hadnt even had the first doctor visit before I re-upped. It is just another example of the sad state of affairs where a man puts no honor in his dealings with his fellow human beings. I was forthright with them and told them of our situation and they were deceitful and underhanded with no intention of honoring their deal with me.The coaches were fine as far as I could tell, but make sure if you have stipulations in your contract that they are clearly spelled out...even though it is all done on computer screen. There wont be a piece of paper to spell out your requirements or arrangements. Thats kind of the really sad thing...they admit we had all these conversations...even though I dont have any paperwork to show my side of the story. They used the semantics of the paperwork against me even while agreeing that we had an arrangement. That is even more two-faced now that I think about it.
Im super happy i joined this gym. Its what I look forward to everyday! The coaches are awesome, the classes are great, and the friendly environment is the best! :)
I will NEVER do business with this company EVER again! My sister and I wanted to take the 3 womens kickboxing classes. We didnt even finish filling out all of the paperwork before she decided she didnt want to do it anymore. I have called them almost every day for two months to get our refund. They NEVER return your phone calls. The managment is TERRIBLE. Their website says 100% money back guarantee if at any time you decide the classes are not for you. Every time I call I seem to always speak to Anthony. They always put me on hold and then say the manager is not there and they would call me back. Not once have I ever received a returned phone call. After a month of me calling, my sister finally got tired of it and she called and they did the same thing to her but she told them that if the manager does not call her back in fifteen minutes she would call again. Anthony called her back after that and said we could come pick up our refunds. She went and got hers but I had class that night so I could not. She tried to get mine as well since they knew we were sisters and they told her no. So I continued to call over and over again for another month. I finally went up there on October 14th and Anthony told me that the manager was there so they can charge it back to my card. He wrote it down on a yellow legal pad. I am sure the manager never received this information. I have continued to call and I have still not received my refund!!!! I am sick of this company and they are a terrible business. I would not recommend anyone to go to the gym because if you ever decide you dont like it, it will be hell trying to get your money back.

BEWARE! Please read through the reviews before you give this place a dime of your money. The five star reviews are phony every one star review has experienced the exact same things as myself. This small business has no communication amongst themselves. Everyone has a separate answer and apparently no one talks to each other. The most common answer is I dont handle that in my department you will have to ask someone else also I dont know who said that so I cant help you This is the worst most over priced unorganized program Ive ever seen. Someone start another youth program in Columbus GA please because Ultimate Youth is greedy and out of control.

Visiting the place was very nice i signed my child up for the summer program paid my fee my account was charged. My child never attend the camp due to his father passing way before the camp ever started i contacted the company about a refund and have been tossed around for over 2 months now they are refusing to speak with me this unacceptable and distasteful

Constantly hemorrhaging good staff because of terrible management. The administration is irresponsible, unethical, and take advantage of young workers. Most of the reviews are fake, made by staff being coerced by management.
Love the coaches and the discipline they teach the kids. Theyre always interested in whats going on in their students lives. This especially applies to their students that get bullied at school.

2022-07-31I have been training at Columbus MMA for almost 2 years now. From the moment I stepped on the mat, I knew that this is where I wanted to train. The instructors/ coaches know their stuff. Thanks to their great training, I have taken 1st place at one of the BJJ tournaments Ive competed in along with the other team members who also placed 1st. We, the Team, always place in BJJ tournaments. The children that train here are also champions. The Muay Thai Kickboxing students are trained by the great Master Cha, who has been all over the world training students.The atmosphere is great, the staff are professional, the coaches/ instructors are well accredited.If youre looking for a place to train BJJ, Kickboxing, MMA or to get in shape, this is the place to go!

2020-02-26My daughter currently is in the Jr. Elite class with Coach Tyler and he is awesome. This entire place and environment is great. I love how they can keep the kids focus and help them learn different things that they can use on the outside. They work with them step by step, keep them energized, acknowledge when they do good. Also keep it fun and Im glad that I am able to sit and watch the class. So I encourage other people if you are looking to get your child/children in Martial Arts this is the place to go.

2019-03-05Columbus Mixed Martial Arts is not only one of the largest gyms in the area, but one of the safest, cleanest facilities as well. Entire staff is professional offering sound advice based on your experience and interest. All coaches are well accomplished making the decision to join this school with ease and confidence.I have been taking Kickboxing/Boot Camp program for the last 3 months. Both coaches bring a different element to each class avoiding boring, redundant routines. Whether you are just getting started, or fitness has always been part of your regimen, there are different levels to help accommodate each student. Not only are the coaches supportive, but fellow members will encourage you to no end. Expect to sweat hard, however, it is extremely addicting and best of all FUN. You will make friends along the way, and your body and overall health will thank you for it! Put in the work and results will soon follow. I love it here and I’m sure you will too.

2019-04-22Both of my boys are in the martial arts program and I can’t say enough good things about it. We have seen improvements in both self control and confidence for them. The instructors truly take time to look at the whole child (behavior, academics, character development, and sportsmanship). We recently had a meeting at my son’s school and Coach Mike took the time to come because my son asked for his support. Actions speak volumes and we consider ourselves blessed with the experience we are having with this program!

2019-02-02My son has been in the Martial arts program for over a year now. We are military and had just moved to the area, getting him involved here was the best decision we made. He has a confidence about him he has never had. The coaches are amazing! If and when we need an after school program or summer camp this is where I want my kids to be.

2013-10-10WE LOVE Columbus Mixed Martial Arts & Fitness!!! The gym is super clean, the staff is always so friendly and welcoming every time we come. Our son is very small for his age but hes built up so much self-confidence and made so many new friends (older and younger) since hes started the BJJ and MMA classes. The trainers are all fantastic with the kids and always happy to see them! Since my husband has started the Nogi and Striking class also, this gym has turned into a home away from home for our family during the week. I would recommend this gym to anyone! Great staff, great people and families, and fantastic training!! We will be members for many years to come.

2015-09-25Registering my son in the Columbus Martial Arts Academy has been one of the best decisions I have ever made for him. The instructors are amazing! They really care about the students. My son has grown to be a very independent and confident boy. He is really proud of the progress he has made for the last months. It has not only help him personally but also academically. 2015-09-26I absolutely love this place!!! I had my oldest daughter take classes there after school and she had so much fun! Not only does she have much more discipline now, BUT her confidence level has improved. The instructors are great, very passionate about what they do. I almost wished we had not moved. =( My two youngest kids would had loved this place. My daughter truly misses her instructors and peers!Columbus Mixed Martial Arts Academy is AWESOME!!!!!

2014-12-17I enrolled my 7-year old daughter in classes at Columbus MMA to channel energy and build self-confidence after my divorce. Money well spent! They have exceeded my expectations and there is a sense of family there that is infectious. Everyone knows each other and genuinely care if you are having a good experience in class. Thanks to Coach Mike and all of the instructors, she has quickly developed a love for martial arts and cant wait for practice. They work very hard to keep the kids engaged and entertained, as well as giving each of them individualized attention to reach their full skill potential. They truly care about their students and their families... I cannot say enough good things about this gym! Thanks guys!!

2013-10-15Columbus MMA is a great place to train. My wife and young son both train here. My son is four and hes learning very valuable life lessons. The staff is great. They treat the Little Warriors very well. They have a summer program and after school care that is terrific and very easy to use.The gym is very clean and well equipped, meeting the needs of all members.I would encourage anyone at any age who is interested in martial arts to stop by and see the staff at Columbus MMA and Fitness.
