My kids go to primetime at Moulton Branch. The whole class spends alot of their day on silent sitting. Ive reached out before and the issue was adressed, but months later the kids are still stuck inside on silent sitting on circles. They dont even have enough counselors for the kids to play outside. My kids are praised by their teachers for being some of the best students, but primetime feels like constant punishment for my kids. If Mrs. Bebo can not handle kids talking or playing, maybe she should not be working with children. 4 years ago primetime was fun & exciting, now it is completely different.
The people at this facility do NOT communicate with one another. And if youre looking into doing a birthday party the information on their website is not all correct. It says you pay half up front upon booking, that is FALSE they expect the full payment. Also says you get invitations and balloons? We did not get any of that. They do 2 different times for the water works pool party. One is 3 the other is 6. The 3 slot was taken (cause I had to go get more money because they needed the full amount NOT half) so we moved to the 6 o clock slot. When we showed up the girl at the front desk looked at us like we were crazy and asked if we were sure it was at 6??? And apparently she gave every single one of our guests the same look. You pay for 2 hrs, so at 8 when we were done and leaving all the employees were gone. Me and all our guests had to squeeze out through this old gate that didnt open all the way (the lifeguard showed us out) youre squeezing up against an old shed with nails sticking out of it!!! Then 2 other guests left before the lifeguard told us where to go and they got locked in the lobby cause everyone left already! I was under the impression someone would be there to help carry our decorations and stuff out to the car?The lifeguard on staff was GREAT! Very friendly. And my daughter had a lot of fun. This place is great for the kids, but from a parents point of view I do not feel like it was worth $160.
💗 my Y! Great aerobics program, I always get a fun, challenging workout in whether its in class or on the floor! The front desk staff is friendly & knowledgeable when I have questions or need assistance, and the nurserys absolutely on it with my kiddos 🙌🏻 We have also had swim lessons recently with Ms. Randy, shes been so great with my 4yr old son & I plan on her taking my 1yr old on when shes ready. Just an all-around great gym!
The YMCA is an outstanding value. The long list of amenities and features includes several pools (heated and kiddie), basketball & racquetball courts, saunas & hot tubs, daycare and after school programs, separate rooms for upper and lower body as well as several cardio rooms. They are constantly updating and improving the facility and adding new classes too. Everything a family could want for health and recreation under one roof. I have been a member for over 15 years and can honestly say some of the best people I have met have either been members or staff from the ‘Y”. One of my best investments has been the time I have put into the Y.
The facility is great with a variety of services. However if you are an adult and are in search of a program that teach adult swimming I do not recommend. Granted they may have excellent qualified lifeguards does not qualify one to be a qualified instructor. The program for children may be great, however adults comes with a variety of reasons for not having learned to swim at an early age. The instructor should know how to cater his/her instruction around the individual needs to help them. Though Atlanta is a few hours away, I will be scheduling weekend lessons with a qualified adult swimming center who specialize training adults. It will be worth the time and money to get proper training.
Very unorganized establishment. worked here during the summer for two weeks and it was the longest two weeks of my life. there are no ORGANIZED activities for the children at all, the other employees who had been there longer seemed to have no idea on what to do or how to keep the kids under control. it’s was just a complete disaster. I don’t have any kids but I do have nieces, nephews, god-kids, etc and would not send any of them to this place; I would rather quit my job and stay home with them than sending them here.
This is the most poorly run YMCA Ive ever seen .I dont even know where to begin... Should I tell you a story of a parking lot with low hanging tree branches that scratch the top of your car that I brought to attention of the staff and even filled out some sort of maintenance request just to find nothing had been done about it six months later. Or describe a dingy smelly nursery with ever broken bell and door, unfinished kids bathroom with a sink height up to an average adults chin, no hot water only cold for kids to wash hands after using bathroom, out of order AC in Georgia heat, renovations unfinished for months with workers laying new flooring ON TOP of OLD CARPET!!! You dont need to be a construction worker to know this is just wrong. You can imagine what condition a carpet in an old nursery can possibly be!The gyms have nice treadmills with large screens that offer an option to watch TV while working out, but not here. They simply are not connected. Sauna, hot tub and jacuzzi work so inconsistent and are out of order more often than in. Weve been YMCA members in Missouri for years and were so excited we could still enjoy our membership here in Valdosta, but what a disappointment...
So NOT HAPPY on limited pool hours for the fall. We joined specifically to use the pool never being told of limited hours in the fall. (we just joined 2 weeks ago) the excuse is limited life guards but every y we have used in the last year (we are on the road full time so it has been multiple ones) we have never had this problem. Pools have always been open as long as the y itself is open. NOT happy to say the least since this is the main purpose of joining.
Air conditioning is optional at this location because it never works and management doesnt seem to even care(no big deal, its just 85 degrees inside). If racquetball or basketball are not a requirement I would use another gym 10 out of 10 times. If LA Fitness ever comes to Valdosta this gym will loose half its members immediately.
Do Not send your child to the YMCA! Horrible experience. Staff is very disrespectful and do not care about your child! My child picked up curse words from a staff member in Prime Time in the after school program and was told it was an accident. If you care about your child and the environment they are in this is not the place to drop them off or allow to watch your child and have a peace of mind. Never will I have anything to do with the YMCA again!
My child goes to Prime time after school program at Hahira Elementary. Last week I had my boyfriend pick her up as I was running late at work. He was not asked for an ID or even greeted or spoke to in regards to who he was picking up, strike ONE. My child then leaves with him and proceeded to tell him about her falling and hitting her face and head. My child had a goose egg the size of an orange on the back of her head and a giant bruise on her cheek. Nobody called, no incident report was filed AND nobody mentioned anything when she was picked up from school. They gave her an ice pack and told her to put her head down. She will NOT be attending prime time ever again.
This is the first YMCA out of 13 states we visited on our mission trip that had our Ministry shower outside in the cold. I told them my wife just got out of an emergency surgery and we aleays use the YMCA to shower. My babies said why are they making us shower outside and I said because they have to do what their boss tells them to do.

2019-03-21Certainly an older Y but as an out of town visitor at $10/visit, I felt it was good value for money. There was only a single Concept2 rowing machine but it was actually in great condition (kudos to whoever maintains it) and I used the free weights also. The steam room was good but there was some major work happening on my second visit so I couldnt use it again. Overall, recommended. Note that visitors need to use the main entrance (smaller sign!) rather than the quick access parking at the back (larger sign!) which requires a card to get in.

2021-10-23I have been a member of the YMCA for almost two weeks and earlier yesterday Rose decided to allow herself to become my personal trainer. She may not be able to help me all the time due to being head of other personal trainers and class instructors there. She did such an amazing job with me on the first day but I will have to remember what she told me so when she cant train me. There are other options that can help as well. I also enjoy the classes I have taken, especially water aerobics. I look forward to many more times at the Y and love everything about it.

2021-11-05There is no full court allowed whatsoever. They have put a ton can on one of the goals because it’s “broke”. I’ve been there for 5 years and there has never been a fight no discrimination or anything regarding race. It’s been just basketball. Everybody in the gym wants to play full court and they still say no. People pay just for the gym but can’t even play full court basketball. You can’t train because cones aren’t allowed. This place is a joke. Do not go here just because you hear there’s a basketball court here. The people who own this has ruined it.

2020-12-02It’s great place with lot of options for everyone. Personal and group classes, pools, basketball and racquetball courts, multiple separated rooms so everyone can get privacy but yet connected so you can get socialize if you feel like it. Also there is part where you can get relaxed after hard work, nice sauna and steam room and very comfortable whirlpool. Place is always clean and neat. People who work front desk always professional and provide all information necessary. I wish every YMCA is like this one :)

2021-09-03I’ve had great workouts here and great staff that’s been there for years, I’m a college student and a single mother and still stay with parents, i am 29yrs old and have been going here 3-4 a day during the week and for some reason the lady that sits at the back of the desk stopped me one day to ask me to verify my address, which i thought was weird, then the next time i went in she stopped me and asked me another question pertaining to my account, the years, weeks, days I’ve been coming and never got questioned about my account, not to forget i am on an account with my parents (family plan). My sister was also using the membership as well, and she said the lady would do the same thing. Her name is Melissa Benton and she is very rude and so questionable about us everytime we enter, she started to knit-pick about everything and question me everytime i came in. So i decided to started entering in the front, when i did, she ended up leaving a note of my age and letting whoever that signs me in know that my account is Inactive and I’m no longer a member! The other lady at the front desk was nice enough to allow my dad to look into it, but Melissa Benton came and found me and literally kicked me out of the ymca! From my understanding she has been working there only 3 yrs, I’ve been a member there for over 10yrs, long as i can remember! I really am appalled at how Melissa handled this situation and very upset due to her removing me the way she did, no other staff has did that, and i figured she was trying her best to do something about me not working out there anymore! People like that should not be there, especially the lowkey rudeness and negative motive i feel like she had towards me! Everyone else is so sweet and nice, but i started having issues when she started working at the desk! And will NOT be referring no one else to this place because of Melissa Benton!

2020-02-05I have been to many YMCAs and the one in Valdosta is by far my favorite. The employees are so friendly and welcoming. Everything is so clean and they have a ton of sanitizing stations. The Fitness department has a huge variety of strength training and Cardio equipment. They have complimentary towels which is definitely a plus! My favorite room is the womens center, where I can workout, go to the steam room, sauna or whirlpool and finish with a nice shower. I also love the variety of the group- X classes. The opportunities here are endless. I always recommend it to friends and family passing through.

2021-09-17Try to withdraw from this place and they will still constantly charge you for fees and never give you a refund for services you never received! I was very disappointed. I use to love coming here but when money is tight in these covid times you think they would be understanding and help people out.

2017-05-26Great facility with an extremely friendly staff. The gym has separate free weight rooms, a cardio room, basketball gym, racquetball courts, several pools, group fitness classes and locker rooms that include steam rooms and saunas. I personally only use the free weights, cardio and locker rooms, all of which stay clean and accessible. I have noticed that it can get busy around 5-6pm but thats no big deal, I just adjusted my routine to go a little later. Overall its an excellent gym for an individual or family.
