Dr Harris And Dr Whelan both treated my seriously injured dog this week. A terrible accident which left me frantic for help I found this local emergency veterinarian hospital which treated Emma with kindness and compassion rarely seen these days. They worked with us on finding a specialist back at home who could perform surgery within a few days and called to check on her after we had left their office. These two doctors were exceptional. The staff there was compassionate with the other animals being treated and you could see them spending time with several of them while we sat in the treatment room. This modern facility offers everything you would expect in a medical treatment hospital but the people in this practice made all the difference. I would recommend this facility to anyone that needed emergency help with the pets.
Wow, what a great experience with the VEG team! My buddy Sawyer, a 12 year old yellow lab mix was super sick for a couple of days and it had me incredibly anxious. The entire VEG team was cool, calm, professional, empathetic and very communicative so they really put me at ease that I had brought Sawyer to the right place! Special shout outs to Dr. Stewart (shes hilarious by the way) and Kate for taking such good care of Sawyer during our visit. There were a few others also involved that were amazing and I wish I could remember their names so I could give them a shout out as well. If youre in need of taking your dog somewhere in an emergency situation, look no further than this place. You wont be disappointed! Thank you again VEG team!
I had to rush in finding an emergency hospital that would take in my cat who swallowed something that needed to be extracted and I was overwhelmed with how many wouldn’t take her in or weren’t open but for VEG , it was my first time coming here and I can’t thank them enough for saving my cat. They were so so so kind and the customer service is top notch. My cat was a little feisty towards the end and they still managed to get things done. I recommend this place - you’ll leave very satisfied and happy. Thanks to everyone for being so kind. It goes a long way for people! Also wanted to mention how open they are to letting you stay by your pets side through most procedures and how they update you ! 10/10
I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience here. My St. Bernard ate a needle from popcorn stringing, and 5 days later it was stuck in his rear end. I called several places but needed somewhere I could stay with him. Surprised by how many places do not allow you to be with your pet....not the case here, I never left his side. I am so grateful for this place. First off it is impeccably clean and really a new take on vet care with an open air concept. I had called and spoke with the doctor beforehand, and I felt like I was ushered-in from the moment I opened the door. Every one was so kind and attentive. The entire staff seemed so productive wether they were working on their own things or were all needed in one spot, they were very fluid and such an awesome group of ladies. I never felt pressured about choosing his treatment or the cost. They were very thoughtful and would ask if I was comfortable, prior to doing things to Ru. They went the extra mile and trimmed his nails and cleaned his ears while he was sedated and the doctor, Becker, was super quick and thorough to get him treated correctly and sending us on our way. The needle was removed, he was examined ., and with no punch in the gut financially, we are together by our fireplace in 2 hours time. I was very impressed and wish they had a place this seamless for my real children. I cannot thank you guys enough for making such an easy go of what could have been a rough night. Amazing work.
I took my baby Zoey in for Stage 4 kidney failure. This is going to be a somewhat comprehensive review based on my opinion. The VEG team is extremely loving. My pup was probably there for 40+ hours, and me or a family member got to sit with her for I would say 16 hours of that in sum. The VEG team was very sweet and accommodated that with no problems. As for care, I believe they tried and did the best with their capabilities. They do not have an in house internist, or ultrasound machine, but I knew that going in. If your dog needs extreme special care, you may want to go to a very large scale emergency vet.Regarding payment/fees. My initial quote high end, ended up being about 25-30% more by the time all was said and done. Do I blame VEG? Not really, although I would have appreciated a higher high end estimate based on what could be needed, as I was surprised by the quote and additional fees, especially when they said the initial quote was a high end estimate. I felt the initial quote was very basic and included no pain killers, etc. Which IMO it should have especially since my pup was in stage 4 kidney failure. The euthanasia/cremation part was easy to understand and nice. We received a private room, and were offered a comfortable area on the floor for our dog with a nice soft padded mat, plenty of blankets, and all the time we needed. The staff gave some of my family hugs, and reached out after the event as well. All in all, this is a solid emergency vet. I think they are great for pups with cuts, maybe food poisoning, broken bones etc. I am unsure if they are the proper choice for a pet with failing organs. However, they probably do not advertise that they are. So, for what they are, and what they appear to be they are a solid 10/10 option.I will truly miss my pup, she was gone too soon, but I am glad that I took her to VEG. I do not believe, based on the circumstances, that she would have survived even at the largest scale veterinarian hospital. They tried and were honest with me on her prognosis.
I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Corley, Dr. Maclean, Brooke, Erin, Christina, Jenny, Emily, and the rest of the team at VEG. We brought our dog Lady in and she was in very serious condition and they were able to clearly communicate what was going on and give her the help she needed quickly. We spent 48 hours there and the care and support is unmatched. They were incredibly professional and treated our dog like she was their own. Thank you so much for the incredible experience! Without you guys my daughter would have lost her best friend.
Absolutely amazing! Our 16 week-old puppy had an allergic reaction that showed up in his eyes. He had swollen eye lids from some sort of bite. Dr. Howell & the entire staff were amazing. Cannot thank them enough. He’s doing great & we’re so thankful to have you in our community! With 4 dogs, this calms our hearts knowing they have great care between our regular vet and VEG if we ever need to visit again.
The staff was so friendly and took us back immediately for my cats emergency. They explained everything in detail and Dr. Howell was very thorough. They also gave us options for treatment since we are on a tight budget with a newborn baby. I’m really glad we chose this clinic and our kitty seems to be getting better. Thank you VEG!
Cannot recommend VEG enough! The staff is super friendly and professional. Our Ansley pup had stress induced colitis (very scary when your dog has bloody diarrhea). We left her for 24 hours for treatment and she is back to her normal self now! Dr. Euler in particular is amazing! The facility is super clean and they let you stay with your dog for as long as you want. We have been to another ER before and we didnt get to see Ansley at all. They also texted us updates of Ansley (see picture) which was very reassuring!Hope we dont ever have to go back to the ER, but if we do, we will definitely go to VEG.
This vet practice was amazing with my daughter’s dog, who was almost dead when we brought him in. After working on him tirelessly for hours, they diagnosed him with Addison’s disease (which came on very quickly). My daughter spent the night in his crate with him and when she went home to shower, the vet tech took her place in the crate with him. I am so grateful there are people in the world like this.
Three days after arriving in Georgia, my sweet Nelson was having difficulty breathing. It was late on a Saturday night when we arrived at VEG. As it turned out, he was in complete heart failure 😞. I was devastated. The doctor and techs at Veterinary Emergency Group were absolutely wonderful. They treated us like family and walked me through my options, letting me make the final decision, but supporting me in the difficult option, which was to let him go. Words can’t convey how appreciative I am of this caring group of people. I would not hesitate to recommend them when someone has an emergency with their fur babies.
I cannot say enough great things about this place. I’d give them 100 stars if I could. After our little Havanese Hugo started vomiting on a daily basis, we took him to our local vet who were all too eager to get us in the room and out as quickly as possible. They gave us no options for additional tests and sent us home saying it’s a bit of heart burn and to give him heartburn tablets. He deteriorated over the next day and we rushed him to VEG. They gave us options, ran all the right tests and quickly diagnosed him with HGE, a fatal condition if not treated quickly and aggressively. They kept him overnight, gave him all the right treatment and he was able to come home the next day. Not only are they great doctors, they are just awesome people. Want to sit with your pet by his crate, they will bring you a bench to sit on. That’s just awesome service. It’s also open 24x7 and you can go visit anytime and stay as long as you like. This is my new favorite place on the planet and Hugo, his mother and I cannot thank the doctors and their team enough. Hugo is on the road to recovery and we have this emergency vet to thank!!!
We took our parti poodle in early this morning when we suspected she ate something bad and threw up and was having trouble getting out of bed. My mom and i were very worried and i wasn’t sure if she would be ok. We got there and were immediately seen and they made Bella feel comfortable. She received fluids and medication and started to feel a bit better in a matter of hours. We got to sit with her the whole time and felt comfortable as well. So happy we took her in to see the vets and techs.
The group of individuals who work here go above and beyond, providing amazing care for pets in need. I came in with my cat at 8:30am on a Friday and they immediately brought us in to a room. Joe greeted us and made sure Simba was comfortable and taken care of as he checked her vitals. When the doctors came in they made sure we understood what was happening and put together a plan of attack. I can not thank this group enough. Caitlyn, made sure Simba was comfortable throughout the entire surgery and recovery process while Dr. Howell and Whalen performed an expert surgery. They treated my cat as if she was their own pet with such care and kindness. The absolute best part being that I was able to be there every step of the way. Even through some gross parts of surgery I was thankful to be able to be there next to my cat.I hope to never need emergency medical assistance again but I will be stopping by to visit these amazing people who helped me so much. Thank you thank you
I cant stress enough how wonderful this group is. They know youre only there because you feel something is seriously wrong with your pet and their compassion and caring start as soon as you walk in the door. Add to that the highly skilled staff, equipment, and facilities and it truly is the best intensive care you can want for your pet. The medical staff sit in the center of the room and the pet patients are all around the perimeter. Theyre open 24/ 7 so there really is constant attention and monitoring of your pet. It is expensive but you are getting the absolute best care you could ever hope for in an emergency situation & they do have financing options available. We paid for an anticipated 24 hour hospitalization for our 15 year old husky mix, knowing at her age that we were on borrowed time. We were told we could visit anytime and call anytime we wanted - even if its the middle of the night. Unfortunately, after some testing & evaluation over a few hours, they had to give us the news that she was not going to be able to get through her issues. They didnt recommend any heroic measures or anything, they were just very clear & kind, answered all of our questions, and let us know there was nothing more to be done. We said goodbye to her at their facility and they made that painful, devastating process as easy on us as they possibly could. They handled her cremation for us also with a local provider. They even promptly refunded the unused portion of our payment since her time there was much less than we thought. I could go on and on about how great they are but that would make this long review even longer. Bottom line is if your pet is in an urgent situation this is the place you want to take them.
Were so grateful to have found VEG! They were so amazing with our dog on 7/15 that we chose to go to them again when we were asked to assist with an injured stray kitten. Both of our experiences were top notch. They make you feel like part of the crew, like family. The open treatment area concept is a refreshing change from the typical emergency clinic and a big plus for us personally. We were able to watch our dog go under sedation and be right next to her during the procedures she needed. Being involved (or nearby without being in the way) really took away the wait period anxiety Id normally feel at clinics that take pets to a restricted area for tests and procedures. The staff are very dedicated in fact, both days this past weekend we were there with the kitten, there were staff who electively stayed well beyond their shift or came in early because they were inundated with emergency patients. I would highly recommend them and am sure Ill be using them many more times between rescue cases and our own fur babies. Thanks ladies for your compassion, dedication, and making us feel at ease through both of our visits with you.
I cannot express how highly I recommend this ER vet. I foster for a rescue and have had to make a couple of ER trips in the past, and this ER FAR SURPASSES others in the area. But last night was for my resident kitten - he managed to get his toenail caught in some mesh netting on a soft sided carrier, tore his pinky toe such that he exposed the tendon and broke his pinky toe. We got there at 9pm and before midnight, he had been seen, evaluated, treatment plan agreed upon, and had surgery. We were home by midnight with our loopy baby, medications, and the comfort that he was in the best hands. THANK YOU, VEG TEAM! I will never go to another ER Vet. ❤️❤️❤️
I visited VEG in Alpharetta a few weeks ago when my baby had a issue after our vet was closed. I can not say enough good things about this place, from the doctors, to the techs, to the front desk, every single person was the best.We had Dr Corley & our techs were Alicia & Michelle. The care & love they showed my girl & I both (especially when they had much more serious things going on other than our case) was top notch that night. I am so grateful to have this type of emergency care close to us we ever need it. The absolute best! Thank you VEG from Jane Grace & I :)
The staff was amazing! Every single one of them were super nice, loving on our dog and making sure we all felt comfortable! The team listened and took very detailed notes and observations of our concerns and what was going on. The plans they came up with and how the explained it to us was very appreciative!Dr. Stewart was awesome and took very good care of our boy and came up with a immediate plan of action to best take care of him!All around outstanding team and experience!!
What can I say expect this was the best “pet experience” I’ve ever had. This group are great communicators, respond with urgency and are very knowledgeable. They me and Benz with a serious issue after hours. They got Benz on a speedy recovery! High highly recommend them!
Outstanding experience. We were traveling with our 11-year old dog and staying in the Atlanta area. Around 11:00 PM on Saturday night, she started showing signs of distress and we called VEG. It was the best decision we could have made. The team at VEG was warm, efficient, professional, and skilled. The explained our options, gave us an estimate for the one we chose, and treated our pup - all within an hour. We cannot say enough good things about the staff helping us that night. Weve been to enough emergency clinics with our pets over the last 25 years to see the extreme difference VEG provides. Easily 10/10 - highly recommend.
This past weekend, one of my biggest fears came true when we had to rush our family dog to the emergency room due to her rapid deterioration in such a short period of time. From the moment we walked in the door, Schatzie and my family were treated with urgency, professionalism, and with the highest quality of care. Dr. Harris, Alexis, and Joe were all attentive to both Schatzie’s and my family’s needs throughout our entire 5 hour visit. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the facility, and I love being able to stay and watch all treatments they are doing on our pets. It’s reassuring that we are able to be there with our pet in such a stressful time. I will never recommend another emergency clinic after this positive experience.Huge thank you to everyone that helped make my sweet Schatzie feel better. Bronchopneumonia has NOTHING on the veterinary team at VEG (and some good antibiotics). ❤️🐾
The kindest vet staff I’ve ever encountered! They clearly love the animals they treat here. When I called in a panic about my dog, they were so calm and helpful. The whole team was prepped and waiting for our arrival! They treated her with such care and were very communicative about both pricing and explaining what was going on.If an emergency ever happens again- this is the only place I’ll consider going!!
The staff was amazing at my first visit here. Belle, Amanda, the other techs and the doctor was amazing. They are all so good with the animals too. I waited awhile to be seen, but that is to be expected at an ER and there were a couple of dogs who came in needing immediate attention so I was fine. I do appreciate the beverages and snacks provided to all who want them and a clean restroom as well. The fee was not outrageous either. I like the open door treatment area as well. Keep up the good work and while I hope I dont need to come back, I wont hesitate to do it when the need arrives!
I had to take my Boston Terrier Cameron to VEG. When you feel their genuine compassion and care the moment you walk through that door, you know youre in good hands. Every single person at this facility treated my Cameron like he was their own. They loved on him and reassured me. They sat on the floor in the room with him, as they discussed with us their plan of action. My Cameron has since made full recovery, and I genuinely cannot recommend them highly enough. I was able to see another patient being helped who was much sicker than my own. They were so kind and gentle with her mom and so respectful. These are the people you want by your side when that time comes.
My little old man is my whole world. After a terrifying day and so many emotions- we could not have ended at a better place. The entire staff was beyond wonderful and so so caring. They took swift action to examine and treat my little man as well as recommend future care. My Churrito is safe and will live pain free for as long as we have left together -thanks to this incredible team. Thank you for taking such great care of my best friend.
I cannot say enough great things about the staff. My dog ate a corn cob. From my initial phone call I felt very confident that they would take great care of her. Upon arrival the staff took care of my dog with compassion. Everything was explained and my dog and I felt very comfortable with during the process. Thank you VEG for taken great care of my dog and making sure she was safe.
If I could give the techs and doctors 10 stars, I would. Its taken me a while to write this review, as there was a very sad end to our story. Back in September, we took our 11 month old Goldendoodle, Ollie, in to VEG on a Sunday morning. He had been limping the week before, took him to our regular vet, they said looked ok, probably a strained muscle, and gave pain and inflammatory meds.He had been laying in his bed a lot, and not wanting to go up stairs, but did perk up when given meds. By the third night though, he wouldnt get up to eat, we had to hand feed him, the next day he refused his cheese/meds, we knew something bigger was going on, and took him to VEG Alpharetta. From the moment we walked in, everyone was welcoming, and made me feel comfortable with my concerns. They immediately started bloodwork and x-rays, whatever other tests, trying to find out the root cause of his symptoms. Later in the day, he started having seizures, and I was informed that he needed to be transferred to the specialist hospital in Sandy Springs, to be seen by neurologist and other specialists. The plan was for him to stay there overnight, and for us to take him in the morning, but at like10:00 PM, and this is on a Sunday night, one of the doctors, and two of the techs volunteered to drive Ollie to the other hospital. They felt that he needed to be seen FIRST thing, and wanted him to be there when the drs come in. I drove to meet them there, probably less than 10 minutes behind, and when I got there, the VEG doc was going over his case with the other doc and he was already getting settled in. Note that up until this point, we didnt think that this was something terminal, but when the doc asked about a DNR, we understood. Unfortunately, he was seen the next morning by the Oncologist and they found he had lymphoma basically all over. There was nothing to be done, and we were saying goodbye later that afternoon. This entire experience was of course devastating, BUT I believe the staff at VEG went above and beyond, and cant imagine going through this experience anywhere else. Ive been telling every pet owner I know that if you need emergency care for your pet, go to VEG across from Avalon! We just got our new puppy yesterday, and I know where Im going if he isnt feeling well, Ill tell you that! Thanks again to VEG.
I cannot express how impressed I am with this Vet. Im not sure why this is not the business model for all vets. We were able to get our fur baby in quickly (seconds) not hours and were immediately introduced to all the staff on the floor who greeted us. ALL of the techs were flowing and communicating like a well timed watch. They all seemed so concerned for all the animals and the owners present. They kept us constantly updated on what was happening and what they were doing and why. The techs took extra steps to ensure my fur baby and the others were as comfortable as possible. The Vetrinarian Dr. Stevie was outstanding and her team of Techs are just next level. I hate knowing that all of our animals may face an emergency, but I am very comforted knowing I can take my fur babies to a place this great for the care they deserve. I cant recommend this place enough, and as shown my little girl is back home feeling much better and resting. Thank you to all the VEG teams!
Absolutely excellent care from VEG in Alpharetta. While I have unfortunately had to take my beloved cat to VEG for services, the staff at VEG has always been nothing but compassionate, empathetic, friendly, and professional. They showed me nothing but care and love when they diagnosed my cat with heart disease, and made sure I was prepared to provide my pet with the best care possible going forward. They ultimately gave me the confidence as a pet owner to manage my cat’s new diagnosis (who is still happy and healthy!), and made sure I never felt like me or my pet were left in the dark.VEG is a practice where they will update you, send photos of your pet if it’s an overnight stay (if you wish!), and openly communicate with you care, pricing, and time needed at the clinic. I’m forever thankful for the wonderful staff at VEG and their hospitality. I would absolutely RECOMMEND Veterinary Emergency Group to anyone in need of emergency vet services!
Probably the best emergency hospital I’ve ever been to and that’s me working in veterinary general practice for almost 10 years. I had to take my 13yr old bulldog for an endoscopy after she ate my niece’s toy. They were amazing the entire time and make you feel included in every step of the way. The staff make you feel comfortable and relaxed with their amazing attitudes and you can see how much they clearly love what they do. Thank you so much to Dr. Howell, Michelle, Jennifer, McKinney, and the rest of the team that helped Scarlet. You guys freaking kill it!
This facility is Amazing!!! They have fantastic staff, and they are all so kind and caring!! The care and answers that we got for our precious fur babies were phenomenal!! I highly recommend anyone to them!!! If you stay all night with your baby, they will give you a hammock to sleep in and have snacks and drinks for you! They talk to you about what they think is best and try to figure everything out to get your fur baby better! It was total worth the drive to get our babies feeling better when we thought the littlest one wasnt going to make it!
An amazing group of people work here! It was an emergency situation on a Sunday and they took our Guinea pig. Exhausted every avenue but ultimately it was her end of life care. They were so comforting and loving. I cant express the gratitude I have when my 16 year old was devastated they made her feel at peace with the decision. Then today, I get a card of condolences from this group. I would recommend everyone to take their pets here. They make you feel like family! Everyone that was in that hospital got top notch care. They call them by name and have several techs assigned to care for your fur baby. I love yal and Thank you again. R.I.P. Turbo 💜💚❤
We unfortunately had to come here to put my partner’s childhood dog, Artie, to sleep. I was extremely impressed by not only the quality of care we received, but the compassion and genuine concern for our well being. The doctors, nurses, and vet techs were all so kind to us, and even sent us our pup’s paw prints and a kind note the week after his passing. Thank you all so much.
Just an absolutely perfect experience considering the reason we were there! This was my 87 year old Dads dog (his whole world) and he was so scared. The staff were very friendly, supportive, and encouraging- putting us at ease immediately. Clinic was super clean and the staff were very efficient. You could tell they all loved their jobs and worked well as a team. Thank you so much!
This was the best vet experience I’ve ever had. I have two babies and was so concerned when they both started showing abnormal symptoms. The team immediately got their vitals taken care of and got us a room. They were transparent about the costs of treatment and walked us through the entire process. They answered all our questions and made us and our fur babies feel comfortable. I’m so thankful to have found them!
VEG is amazing!! They were so helpful when our pet swallowed a toy he shouldn’t have. Very kind, compassionate and accommodating. They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and informed of what was required/happening. I’ve been to other vet ER’s and never been treated so well. Definitely keeping their number in case of emergency. Worth every penny!
This is the best emergency vet ever! They are kind, compassionate, competent and fair. Our chocolate lab Brewster loved everyone here, and they genuinely cared about him. This is THE place to take your fur baby during an emergency. Our regular vet even mentioned how awesome this place is.Thank you for checking out Brewster so well late last night to make sure he was ok. He’s already feeling quite a better today and is getting his energy back. We truly appreciate everything you did for our sweet boy.
We were traveling and our cat got sick. I was at a loss as to where to take him, as I’ve had bad experiences at one or more of the big ER clinics. Mostly because they take your pet into a room and you don’t get to be with them, or know what’s going on. This experience was wonderful! The open concept, understanding that your pet is afraid, scared and wants to be with his pet parents is priceless! Dr. Sole was great, as well as the techs. The place was packed and you need to be patient. They treat pets in order of their sickness, like a human ER and rightfully so. The receptionist was so sweet even as busy as she was, she held her composure! I don’t know how my cat will be, time will tell. Thank you to this great group of caring people who devote their lives to animals.
I just want to give a big shoutout to such an amazing group of people. I was put in the worst position when my 6 week old puppy started having a seizure out of nowhere and I was first sent to a very nice vet who was about to close and told me to head over to this saving grace ! From the first conversation before arriving, to arriving and have ALL HANDS ON DECK. They did everything they could to save her, and they did !!! I’m sooooo grateful for this amazing center, the amazing team Dr.Corley, Dr.Boble, all the sweet am amazing nurses and any other doctor I haven’t mentioned. From the bottom of my heart you guys have truly touched my heart and saved my little angel. Thank you ! thank you ! Bless you all!!
These folks do a terrific job. Our dog came in needing emergency treatment and was treated very professionally, quickly and with great care. The facility is modern, clean and well run. The people, including the receptionists, techs and doctors are all exceptional in their treatment of the pets and their ability to relate to both them and we humans! Thank you for taking care of our dog.
I can’t say enough good things about VEG. Our dog Arthur had to stay for 3 days there and they provided exceptional care to him.Dr. Horner (Bueller) is kind, compassionate, highly knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. Even after a LONG shift, she still had so much energy and remembered every single detail about all of her patients. The same can be said for all of the incredible vet nurses. They explained his issues thoroughly to us so we understood exactly what was happening with our dog. When he was released, they sent detailed records to our regular vet. So detailed and organized, that the regular vet commented on how wonderful the records they kept were. When it came to our bill, they regularly updated us on the charges/estimate (since he had to stay longer than expected) and provided recommendations on how to cover the costs. Our dog is usually super scared to go to the vet and shakes when he’s outside but when he had to go back to VEG for a test our regular vet didn’t have, he started to wag his tail and jumped up on the door to get in. I know this was due to the compassion and kindness they showed to him his entire visit. We are so grateful to have found VEG! Thank you for treating Arthur so well :)
I cannot say enough about Dr. Corley, Jay, and the VEG staff. After my sweet girl, Maple, was attacked by another dog, a local vet recommended VEG. From the moment we came in, they were concerned about Maple’s injury. Although Maple’s situation was mild compared to the other patients that day, Dr. Corley, Jay, and the staff made us feel heard, seen, and took Maple’s situation very seriously. It was a very difficult day for us, and the other pet parents in the clinic, but I knew all the animals were in more than capable hands. The compassion and genuine care, though, is what really sticks out in my mind. It was a horrible day, but the staff made all the difference in their pursuit of taking care of Maple and reassuring me.Highly recommend this office to anyone who is having the worst day in a pet parent’s life. Your pet will be treated with the upmost quality care and so will you. Thanks SO MUCH, Dr. Corley, Jay, and the VEGGIES.Maple has since made a full recovery. 🍁
I am super impressed with the care and compassion the staff shows at VEG. I came here when my 2yr old Mini Poodle had over 200g of dark chocolate. She was restless and had tachycardia. My first initial response was to take her to Blue Pearl, a nearby ER close to home - they showed zero care and compassion - Doctor was nowhere to be found and we waited over an hour for an emergency vital check to be administered. We asked that we get our dog back as soon as we found VEG through Google. DO NOT hesitate to bring your pet to VEG - they will not make you wait long hours - and let you hold your pet and be there throughout the entire process. We ended up leaving our poodle overnight and they were kind enough to call and send photos letting us know how shes doing. I truly believed they saved her life.Regarding the price, I wouldnt say its super low BUT I will say that they DO NOT lie and are 100% transparent with what the cost and prognosis will look like. Thank you VEG!
Ive never seen anything like this. This is a top-notch ER Vet clinic. The VEG staff is incredibly loving towards all fur babies, and very gentle and calm. Their hospital is a clean, open space where they allow you to be part of their whole treatment if possible. I was able to sit on a couch with my dog as she received IV fluids. If I wanted to, they would have let me stay all night. As i hung around I was able to witness the staff preparing for incoming patients, treating patients, and also their general comraderie with each other. When I went home they kept me informed of her condition via text. They keep their lobby stocked with snacks for families who dont want to leave their pets alone. If you ever need the services of an emergency vet, this is where you need to go, even if the drive is longer.
Thank you to Dr. Howell and technician joe for all they did for my dog Mae. I have been in the veterinary medical field for 17+ years and there’s nothing more scary when something happens to your own pet that your helpless to help. The staff at VEG got my dog worked in with in minutes and had life saving protocols and equipment ready. My dog Mae suffered from an unknown neurological episode yesterday and when I called our sister hospital I was denied help. I typically don’t “pull the card” “ I’m a tech too” but I did in this situation because my dog needed immediate medical treatment. VEG staff got her stable enough and made all the correct calls and did all the right diagnostics in my professional opinion. I will only be using this ER clinic when necessary from now on.
Last night I visited your Alpharetta, GA location with one of my foster dogs from Angels Among Us Pet Rescue. As a foster and volunteer, I have been to 30+ vets across GA including many 24/7 locations. I was so impressed with the friendliness, professionalism, decor (bright/comfortable/clean), and processes. I want to send a special shout out to the receptionist. Over 2 hours, I observed many interactions with her in person and on the phone. She amazed me with her empathy, clear communication, sense of urgency, soft touch, professionalism and friendliness. Great job!!
Took my 6YO Bull Terrier to VEG after a dog bite accident. THESE PLACE IS WONDERFUL and is immediately on my HIGHLY RECOMMEND LIST. This is unlike any other veterinarian clinic or emergency facility. Open concept, YOU ARE WITH YOUR ANIMAL 100% OF THE TIME (very cool), extremely helpful, friendly and service oriented. While I dont hope any animal owner needs this place......if you do........THIS IS YOUR PLACE. Price was bad either (another plus)
We had to take our dog to the emergency vet for the 3rd time in one week and our last visit was with VEG. Dr. Harris was so attentive and caring to both my husband and I as well as our 9 year old beagle. She was very thorough in her assessment and made good recommendations. Caitlyn was our vet tech and she was also super compassionate in helping us with our dog. I dont want to have to go back to the emergency vet but if we do I highly recommend VEG.
First night was very good it was travel vet they were all kind and made us feel like my dog was in good care and overall very attentive however the following days was regular staff i guess. They were kind but honestly not as welcoming and warm as the other staff a lot less happy and attentive my dog covered in his own feces for days and they said they tried they’re best to clean him up but honestly it was very questionable so my dad and I brought wipes to clean him and we definitely did a better job. Not bad people just thought for all the money we paid our dog definitely deserved to at least be clean but he was literally covered in his own diarrhea for DAYS. Dr Corley was very kind very thankful for her patience
Took my pup here tonight for some concerning digestive issues. All of the staff were so kind and friendly - from the front desk staff, to the vet techs, to the veterinarians themselves. They explained to me everything they were doing at all times and were so informative, even chatted with me to pass the time. Highly recommend this place if you ever have an emergency with your fur babes!
I cant say enough good things about this place. I initially went to Blue Pearl to have my dog treated, but their wait time was unfortunately super long. so we called around and found this place! as soon as we walked in we were seen for vitals and an introduction to the doctors. they were very transparent about the wait time and what next steps were for my dog. they made us super comfortable and were very attentive. I LOVE THIS PLACE.
Amazing services we hope you do not need! From walking in the door, to tech, to doctors, they know what they are doing, super respectful! Everyone is nice, and eager to help. Triage on acuity of your pet and are quick to treat and help. Best Emergency Vet I have ever been too! Worth the 1.5hr drive there!I am sincerely thankful for you all!
The best emergency veterinary care I have ever experienced. The staff provided very frequent updates, answered all my many questions, and treated my cat like he was their own pet. Everyone from the vets to the techs to the people running the front desk were so compassionate and helpful. I was also so amazed that there was no behind the scenes. They have an open concept design so you are able to see the whole facility. I saw nothing but animal-loving staff working diligently in pristine conditions. The price of care was more than justified for the quality of service provided. We could not be more grateful to have VEGs help with our sweet and squishy-faced cat, Ollie.Edited to add:After we checked out, VEG sent all of Ollies treatment info to our regular veterinarian and to me as well. They took incredibly detailed notes and you can see just how frequently they were checking in on him. When I spoke to our vet later he knew exactly what was going on because of their diligence.
VEG is an amazing hard working group that saved my dog. The members of staff are not only incredibly knowledgeable, but they provide emotional support and thoroughly explain every step they are taking. So very thankful for Dr. Bayless, Dr. Sore, and the countless techs that protected my dog like he was their own. Thank you so much VEG!
Took our puppy in as she had eaten something in the backyard that was poisonous to her. The staff here is amazing. Dr Bible and vet tech McKinny were caring, compassionate and kept us well informed on our girls situation. We had to leave her there for most of the day and they kept us up to date and we knew she was in good hands and well cared for.
Thank you to the whole VEG Team who took the VERY BEST CARE of our Little Lady, Cleo. Every single Team Member was WONDERFUL AND CARING!!! So happy we ended up here for our ER visit!!! Definitely would recommend this ER vet to anyone in need, truly. Thank you so much for all your help, all your hard work, and all your time.
Nothing but kindness from the whole staff here. We called ahead and explained our situation and they said they would be ready and waiting. We got there and they took us right away. 5 adults with a 14 year old dog, they let us all in without making us feel like we were in their way. We received a private room to spend our last moments with our sweet pup. He was so scared and definitely made the staff work harder to give him the care he needed, but they were nothing but patient with him. When it was time to say goodbye, the vet explained the facts to us which made understanding his passing easier. She was so calm and her voice so warm & loving, we are all so thankful. After he passed, she said “take all the time you need. The room is yours.” And left quietly. I won’t ever forget those words. I’ve never experienced the loss of a pet, and as hard as it was (and is) they made it that much easier. I’m beyond thankful for their care and their kindness. Even as we were leaving, staff who we didn’t directly deal with gave us kind words as we walked past. It’s evident they care very much about their four legged patients (and their large two legged families). Their facility is spacious and clean. We can’t thank them enough. I don’t remember any names from that day (8/21/22) and for that I am sorry because each one of them deserves a hug and a hearty thank you.
There is not better place to take your dog in an emergency! The open floor plan makes it so you see everything! I’d your dog has to stay the night they have room you can stay with them! They were fast, kind and for an emergency vet very fair pricing! I will definitely use them whenever I have a pet emergency!!!
This is by far the best veterinary hospital Ive ever had the pleasure of working with. Last week, my wife and I dealt with every pet owners worst nightmare and had to unexpectedly put our dog down. The staff was amazing! They were kind, caring, and compassionate, dealing with the situation with grace and love every step of the way.A week later, we received a very unexpected hand written card signed by each staff member and to our surprise, it had our dogs pawprint inside. For them to go so far above and beyond is incredible and we cannot be more thankful for this group of people in such a hard time.
Our puppy became very sick over the weekend, and our regular vet was unable to see us on such short notice. We were fortunate enough to come to VEG. Owners are allowed to stay with their pet throughout all phases of care. I cannot imagine how overwhelming it must be to have family members present in an emergency setting, but the staff handled it with grace and patience. I truly believe Emma recovered quicker without the added stress of being away from her family. And the cherry on top of an already great experience, was that Dr. Horner-Euler even personally called our regular vet to ensure continuity of care.
My puppy chewed off a foot (or maybe it was an ear) from one of his toys. After not eating breakfast, I took him to his vet where they tried non-invasive means to help the stuffed body part move along. Unfortunately that didnt work so they said I needed to take him for surgery, they gave me a choice of 1 of 3 emergency hospitals but leaned on VEG. From the time I walked in, to discharge, it was an experience unique to VEG. The staff was beyond friendly the facility was open and very transparent. I hope to never need them again, but if the opportunity arises I know where I will take my dogs. Special shout outs to Drs. Harris, Corley & Sands as well as the amazing techs ( I believe Christina and Angela got him checked in) and the many others who took care of my boy while in their care.
Our cat Beau cut himself on some glass while we were moving our apartment and our vet gave him 4 sutures. Within the night he had already ripped 2 out and had opened his wound. Our vet is closed on the weekends but VEG got us in and out within the hour. Super friendly, very informative and gentle with our cat. I asked a million questions and they answered every single one. Our visit cost $175 and Beau now has a staple to keep his wound closed. Highly recommend this place. We live in Atlanta and drove to Alpharetta as all the vets near us were fully booked.
We had to rush our beloved Chocolate to VEG last night at the referral of our vet. Our baby was suffering and losing blood, actively dying, and we needed to have her humanly put to sleep. She had terminal bladder cancer and an ulcerated GI tract. The staff present last night was so compassionate and helpful, and comforting in a time of sorrow and need, I am beside myself. The doctor on duty was supurb. We were able to put our baby to sleep quietly and humainly. It does cost similar in comparison to a human cremation but even the cremation company, Pet Angels, was outstanding to work with. When my next pup goes, I know who to go to. Highly recommend even though its pricey.
I cannot even describe the how much I love this place and the people! They are so compassionate and truly care about their patients. Dr. Corley, Dr. Harris and Dr. Stevie saved our little girls life! They are top notch doctors! All of the staff are passionate about their jobs and patients. Also a special thanks to techs Courtney and Erian for their support. The open floor plan concept is amazing because it provides totally transparency. As the pet owner, you are able to stay with your pet the entire time. Forget about going to Blue Pearl and go here where they truly care about you and your animals.
This is the greatest emergency vet. The doctors, techs and nurses truly care about you and your pet. They go out of their way to make you comfortable and my favorite part is that you are able to stay with your fur baby which definitely provides another layer of comfort. I cannot recommend this place enough.
I recently brought my baby Pitty to VEG and the service I received went above and beyond what anyone could or would expect. My baby had a serious neck injury and was lethargic and in pain for a few days. Our family took him to a vet 24hrs prior and he was mis diagnosed. I decided to take him to VEG because I did not know what else to do especially since we noticed his quality of life was dwindling day by day. As soon as I walked into VEG (an AMAZING place of business) we were treated with so much understanding, care, and respect.THANK YOU to Dr.Poole for your exemplary service and impeccable knowledge of animals. Dr.Poole found his injury with in minutes and therefor was able to treat and diagnose my baby the proper way. Thank you to Lin who took the time out to get to know us and be unbelievable understanding to my personal situations. Thank you to McKinney for your passion, knowledge, and kindness (McKinney even walked me to my car to help load my baby).Veterinary Emergency Group is a place filled with life saving passionate Angels! I would love for VEG to become a veterinary primary care practice someday!!!!-Love British and Amber❤️🐶
I cant say enough wonderful things about VEG. Just after dinner, Thursday before a holiday weekend and our dog was not feeling very well. Our Primary Vet was closed, so I had to look around. When I called VEG, I actually spoke to a Doctor! Explained what was happening and she said get in right away. Wait this cant be right can it? Everyone else was saying it would be hours before they could see us. Well yes, yes it was true. We got checked in and they saw her right away. Some tests and more samples later, they determined the issue and got her all sorted. Everyone was so nice and so caring towards the patients. Thanks for everything!!!
Its hard to find the words to express my gratitude for the care this group provided my fur baby and I in his most desperate time of need. Unfortunately, my sweet baby crossed the rainbow bridge that night after a long but valiant fight. Although my decision to let him go was full of tears and heartache, I felt comforted by the love and respect each member of the team showed my sweet Kofi and I. Id been to several vets and specialists during his health decline, but no person or group compared to the level of compassion felt here. Thank you.
We brought our cat in for a possible UTI and every single person at VEG was incredible from the moment we called and until the moment we left! I love that the vet answered the phone herself when we called. It felt very personal and we felt so much better bringing our cat there. Every staff member that entered the room was clear about their role and what they would be doing in that moment. Someone even came in the room and explained every single charge we could be billed for BEFORE continuing with any procedures. This was incredibly helpful to us and the vet even gave us the courtesy of explaining exactly why those specific procedures may be necessary. She allowed us to take each procedure one step at a time to avoid billing for everything on the list if it wasn’t necessary and we are so grateful for that. We are first time pet-owners and have had our cat for only 6 months so this was a scary experience that Dr. Whalen and everyone at VEG made so much easier for us!! THANK YOU!
Love this place! The nurses and the doctor’s are super caring and truly want to help your pet and not just take your money. Becca was amazing with my scared mini aussie! They are very transparent with their pricing and will work with you with what you can afford. Hopefully my pup won’t need to go back but in case he does, I will most definitely be going here! Thank you guys!
My dog Bruiser developed severe rectal bleeding. Veterinary Emergency Group were extremely compassionate and caring and saw him right away. I was very distraught and they kept me informed and reassured me every step of the way. Dr. Bible, Mallory and the whole staff were wonderful. I highly recommend them. Bruiser is now also fine.
I give this place and A+ on customer service, pet service and atmosphere!! An emergency vet is never somewhere you want to have to take your pet but I’m glad I went here. You’re able to be with your pet the entire time, even while undergoing an operation. I’ve never been somewhere like this! The girls were very attentive and so sweet. They made me feel heard when concerned about my cat Boy and they kept me updated throughout the day and night. They even texted me pictures of Boy!!! 😊 I recommend VEG over any other emergency vet in the area. They’ve only been open four days and they did amazing. Thanks for helping my cat Boy!!
This is hands down the very best emergency outfit in all of Atlanta. I’ve had animals for many years and have dealt with all the ER vets you can think of. VEG in Alpharetta has the kindest staff. They take the time to talk with you and answer all questions. You don’t feel like a “number” when you go there- the doctors and techs treat you and your pet with lots of compassion.
I highly recommend Veterinary Emergency Group. The staff was compassionate, knowledgable, and exceeded all expectations. While we were not the only patient, Dr A made us feel that way and I had every confidence that my patient was in good hands. We were kept informed every step of the way, which goes a long way.
My daughters 13 year old dog Rusty was recently diagnosed with diabetes which now requires her to have 2 daily injections. She is petrified of the injections and will not stay still. I was caring for her for about a week. Veterinary Emergency Group was super kind to assist me daily by giving her the injections. Really a lifesaver. The Vets and all of the staff were super professional, kind and understanding.None of us ever want to end up at the ER with our furkids but honestly this is the place to go if you have to. The facility is Very clean and state of the art.Thank you so much to all of you at Veterinary Emergency Group in Alpharetta!
Sunny and I are very grateful for the care and treatment by everyone on the team at VEG in Alpharetta. Each person treated us both with professionalism but with love. I knew exactly what to expect from the second I walked in. I cannot recommend this place more. My heart is full and my sweet pup is getting better. Thank you thank you thank you.
My dog got bit by something unknown at night and they took us in right away. the staff were very kind and warm, they swiftly assessed my dog and also got my water and tissues. the staff treated every single person in the facility with the same warmth and hospitality. they were professional, focused and calm. would highly recommend for anyone needing help for their pets
We visited VEG on July 8th with our puppy Basil. It was determined that he contracted parvovirus. We almost euthanized our puppy based on the facts and likelihood that our dog could recover from the virus in his current condition as determined by the staff. Minutes away from humane euthanasia, we stopped the process and continued to press the staff about all other options. The doctor eventually told us that we could try another hospital that could be less expensive. With this new information, we called Animal Emergency Center of Sandy Springs and asked if they would be able to treat him. The cost to have AEC treat our puppy was significantly less! He spent less than 48 hours at AEC and was fully treated. The final cost at AEC was equivalent to the costs that VEG quoted for a single overnight stay. Our puppy is now back home and recovering very well.Though the staff was very attentive and pleasant, we wish they would have presented all possible options prior to us administering the first sedative and experiencing emotional distress.
Prompt, friendly, and professional emergency care. They were available to care for my sick pet sooner (and longer) than our usual vet because they only focus on emergency care and they are open 24 hours. Dr. Poole made an effective diagnostic and treatment plan. She explained all decisions to me thoroughly, so I felt informed and involved. Small things like texting me updates while my pet was admitted, the techs getting on the floor to help ease my dog’s anxiety, and the receptionist helping to make me a coffee are what put VEG Alpharetta above and beyond expectations for an emergency vet clinic.
Unfortunately my visit here had a sad ending but I can’t thank everyone enough for everything they did for my dog before she crossed the rainbow bridge. They were calm, kind, empathetic, and compassionate. They explained everything that was happening to her and our options in ways we could understand during such a difficult time. They treated Avery like she was their pet. Hopefully we won’t have to come back but if we have any future emergencies I won’t go anywhere else. Thank you all so much for everything. I’m so grateful.
From the moment we walked in with our dog, Oakley, we were floored with the level of care and the friendliness of all of the staff that we encountered. I came in with my husband, son, and daughter. After speaking with the young lady at reception, she ushered us into the open floor plan triage area. It was very nice that everything was all out in the open. It made everything feel very transparent and comforting to see everything that was happening. We were assisted by two very nice vet nurses. My husband mentioned that my daughter wants to be a vet. I cant remember her name, but the tall, blonde young vet nurse asked if she wanted to see the x-ray process. The whole staff was so attentive to our needs and asking if we wanted water or snacks. They brought an extra bench into the room since we were four. The vet, Dr. Harris, came in to talk to us and to examine Oakley. She sat on the floor to get to his level and let him sit on my lap on the floor, so he could get used to her. Everybody explained what they were doing and gave us feedback on his condition and our worries. They followed up to check on Oakley after he had been discharged. I have never experienced this level of customer service and care at any other vet. I would recommend them no questions asked. We are from out of town and wish they had one of these centers where we live in Greenville, SC.
Dr. Stevie is an angel sent from above to help any animal in need! I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience at VEG. I was shocked when I called and immediately talked to a doctor. Dr. Stevie was so calming on the phone and started working on my dog as soon as I walked in. I love that I didn’t have to fill out paperwork before seeing my dog. Service from start to finish was phenomenal. The location was so clean and tidy. Staff has a understanding of what they are doing and you can tell they are doing it for the right reasons- because the TRULY care about animals and know they are a part of your family. They know youre only there because you feel something is seriously wrong with your pet and their compassion and caring start as soon as you walk in the door. Dr. Steve and the entire staff that night were kind, compassionate, highly knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. I cannot recommend them enough I have never been surrounded by so much love, caring and professionalism in all my years of taking pets to emergency facilities. Customer care is unmatched. Again, there are no words to describe the kindness and compassion of Dr. Stevie and her team. Thank you thank you thank you! If I ever need an ER vet I will 10000% go back here. I pray they open up more locations in Atlanta. There is a dire need. Thanks again and I wish I could give yall all the stars in the sky!
I would like to thank EVERYONE who were involved with my puppy. They literally safe my puppys life. They doctors here made sure we know exactly what is happening and made sure we understand thoroughly with the situation. The surgery was long but a very successful one. My husband and I took shifts to be there for our puppy and they were so caring that they even bought meals for us.They went above and beyond their jobs to make sure we were all comfortable. This vet ER has an open concept for their intake room, which make you feel welcome. Great hospitality. All the staff and doctors are genuinely happy to work their.Im truly thankful that I found this place in time.5 stars on everything!
I highly recommend Veterinary Emergency Group located in Alpharetta. I have a senior Labrador recently diagnosed with Lymphoma. Tonight I noticed something that was frightening and highly unexpected. One of his large back molar teeth had come loose and was hanging in his mouth. I didnt know what to do, or why this could have happened. Given his recent diagnosis, almost anything out of the normal gets me worked up.When we arrived at the Veterinary Emergency Group it was around 8 p.m. There was a whole team of wonderful individuals to meet us, get his vital signs straight away, and worked with a level of professionalism that was so impressive. I felt comfortable instantly. Xander my Labrador was also quite pleased with the staff as the problem was solved very quickly, and he also was the recipient of treats hand fed from one of the nurses.Im sure if youve been here before you feel the same way in giving a highly recommended endorsement. All I can say is a huge THANK YOU to the team that was on shift this Saturday evening 🙌 🙏.
Honestly the only place you should consider going to if your pet needs care. I drove almost an hour away just to come here for my dog emergency, they took care off her like she was one of their own pets. The service was excellent and the doctors were amazing! I chose this place based on the reviews alone and compared too the other vets. I wouldnt go anywhere else!
I would like to thank every member of the team involved in taking care of our Thor during his last moments with our family. It’s never easy to discuss these final moments but the team did amazing. After Thor left us last week we received a card and some small reminders of Thor. I would highly recommend using the team for your emergency needs.
This place is absolutely THE BEST! The facility is clean, attractive and well laid out, but the best part is the team of vets, techs, and office staff. Our pet received the best attention and she was referred to by her name throughout the visit. What was most impressive was the attention that we observed being shown to every single animal being treated that night. If you ever need an emergency vet, this is the place to go!!
Our nearly 10yr old poodle (Starlet) needed emergency surgery and the folks at VEG Alpharetta saved her life. That simple! But their caring, transparencyand professionalism easily should rate them as a 10 (even though a 5 is highest rating). The Drs and the entire staff was magnificent and Im simply blown away by their love for all animals. Kudos VEG Alpharetta
Very professional and efficient! I really liked that we could stay with our pet as much as possible while we were being seen. The Dr and staff were kind and careful and really listened to our concerns. Hopefully we wont need emergency care again, but if we do, we will definitely choose VEG.
The worst clinic I ever went to. I was told to go here from another clinic. They said they take rabbits for emergency care. But it seemed like they took care of dogs more than anything else. My rabbit was really sick and they barely attended him. They also forgot him in the x-ray room because they were too busy with dog. Apparently rabbits are not as important. My husband kept trying to get their attention because they took over 3 hours just to give the rabbit any fluids. But when they gave him fluids they ever subcutaneous and not intravenous. He needed intravenous since he had GI stasis and was not doing well at all. They didn’t want to do an ultrasound to see if their was an obstruction. They did not listen to my recommendations as a healthcare professional. They barely attended my child and only cared about dogs. My child died within a few hours. 10 minutes before he died he was screaming and he was very uncomfortable. So then they decided oh yes we better do an ultrasound since he is not doing any better. Really? Then they went behind my back to do the ultrasound since they told me first they couldn’t do it. They don’t even deserve 1 star. Right after the ultrasound my poor bunny coded and passed away. I recommend don’t take your pets there if they are not dogs because they could care less and you will be left with a dead child and a large hole in your pocket. They will try to rip every penny out of you while they neglect their duties and tell you to go home and they will take care of everything. And moments later even before you leave the clinic your child will be dead.
Cannot say enough great things about the team at VEG Alpharetta! Our cat was having difficulty breathing, and the 3 emergency vets in Atlanta were either closed due to too many patients or had 4+ hour waits. Fortunately we found VEG Alpharetta, and we were in and out in less than an hour. The entire staff went above and beyond to make sure our cat was comfortable and treated quickly. I really loved that we were able to speak with Dr. Howell and email her a video of the cat before making the drive to Alpharetta. Great team of knowledgable vets and techs here. While I hope we never have to use an emergency vet again, if we do, it will be VEG.
Arrived at 10:00 PM on Thursday night and as soon as they saw us walking to the front door a nurse was running to get our dog Spencer looked at. Extremely responsive, allowed us to spend as much time as we wanted with our dog. Constant communication with his progress. I honestly think if VEG wasn’t here, I wouldn’t be taking him home today to continue his recovery. Thank you!!
Brought my boy in and the staff was on top of it, very knowledgeable, prompt, compassionate. We ended up having to put my boy down but I know that if something could of been done, Dr. Corley, would of done it and give it her all. Very unfortunate turn of events but Im glad I went where I did. Experience couldnt of went smoother or with more compassionate staff!
I’ve never trusted any people more with my pets than this group. they are so so kind and helped soothe my worries when i brought my cat in at 2am and worked so hard to figure what was wrong with her. a special thanks to precious and katie who handled my feisty calico with no worries haha! they also all sent their condolences to my mother when she had to put her dog to sleep there by sending a letter with everyone’s signatures. i love VEG and highly recommend them!
Extremely compassionateTreated my 17 month old with urgency when I first arrived- however it took over an hour to administer fluids - my question is - an emergency vet runs stat tests and x rays correct? I’m left confused as to why it took so long to start fluids - like most emergency hospitals , they’re crowded with all very case being urgent. My subjective data needed to be objective w tests and exams - my guy was labled in stable condition :( however waw clearly in a depressed and a distressed state. They were so busy I had to advocate for my puppy a lot. My puppy was 17 months old being treated for pneumonia as my primary vet diagnosed him with kennel cough - my guys vitals were perfect which probably pointed to something else - lungs clear, heart rate, ox rate , abs temperature clear. I came in at 3 and a nuero exam was not carried until 5 hours later - I just did not feel like he was being treated as an emergency. They tried a lot of different medicines on a 12 pound cavapoochon and displayed and even had to reverse one. It seemed like they did not know how to treat my dog. My dog started showing nuerological signs and issue and was given a muscle relaxer and an opioid and he died a few hours later - i have no closureHe was a happy healthy and active and vaccinated pup. My heart is shattered and my life feels over
Looked all night for some place to see my daughters guinea pig, thinking she had a ear infection because her head was tilted & she was falling over & shaking her head. Every where was either closed or did not want to see her with her being a small exotic baby. But not them😊 they immediately told us to bring her in even though they did not have a exotic doctor on hand but they could check her out. From the time we stepped in the door from the time we left they made us feel super comfortable. Dr. Bible was excellent & so was her nurse I can not thank you enough , that baby is my daughters world. Then @ check out the young girl up front was so nice & warming. We Thank you 🤗
We can’t thank Dr harris enough for her fast response to our dogs eye problem and thorough explanation of what to do. Although it was only through a phone call, she took the time to review our email and call me back with instructions very quickly. If we have any future pet emergencies, we will not hesitate to use VEG in Alpharetta.
Our sweet Cooper would not have survived without the care received from this group. Our initial contact was with Precious who miraculously found a vein for an IV & Drs. Euler & McClean, who were very knowledgeable & caring. There are so many other providers we would like to thank: Drs. Galbraith, Whalen & Corley. Many names we do not know, however, everyone we encountered gave excellent care. We would recommend this facility to anyone needing emergency care for their furry babies. Thank you all so very much!
The vets, nurses, techs, and staff are rockstars - so very talented and generously kind in every word and action. Thank you Drs. Howell, Bible, Sands, and Sole. Thank you Becca, Meghan, Allie, Alicia, MC, McKinney, Holly, and everyone Ive neglected to name but to whom were very grateful. Thanks to you, Dora the Explorer is on the mend!
VEG was there for my puppy’s tummy troubles on New Years Day when her regular vet was closed. Their staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The office is very clean and had plenty of seating. We received great care and my puppy is feeling much better. They even follow up a day or so after a visit to see how your pet is doing. I also liked that they’re very upfront about cost and options. I will definitely use them again if I need emergency care in the future.
Veterinary Emergency Group in Alpharetta was amazing. My dog was ill last night so we made a late night visit and were treated like VIP guests. We got immediate service, I never had to leave my dog behind closed doors and we were checked in and out during her treatment so our visit was less than 45 minutes. I drove past another emergency clinic to try VEG and was not disappointed. If you live anywhere close to here please check them out. Amazing open lay out, the staff is amazing in every way. We were seeing the doctor within minutes. I cannot recommend them highly enough! I have had fur babies more than 25 years and have never had this level of care.
There are no words to describe the kindness and compassion of Dr. Stevie and her team. This place went so above and beyond what ANY vet has ever done in our 25 years as pet owners. Our pocket pet was gasping for air on a Saturday night...we called 6 exotic vets BEGGING them to take us, but no one would (a couple places had too many staff out with Covid). Veterinary Emergency Group not only let us come in, but they treated our little rodent like they would any dog or cat. They even consulted with an exotic vet who specializes in fancy rats. After 7 hours of being doted on by the staff, our precious boys health declined rapidly, so we made the awful decision to euthanize. Dr. Stevie and her staff were UNBELIEVABLY LOVING! And in the midst of my grief, I didnt ask for ashes or another keepsake. A couple days later, when we received a personalized card signed by the staff, I cried...and then I saw TWO sets of pawprints!! I bawled! Im forever grateful they gave us those (without us asking!).
Our sweet two-year-old King Charles spaniel started feeling badly on a Friday, and by Saturday he was lethargic and not eating. The symptoms were vague but noticeable enough to be alarming. We called several emergency vets in Midtown where we live, and every location was either closed (lack of staff due to Covid) or had 4+ hour wait times. We decided to venture OTP to find a hospital, and were so fortunate that the universe led us to VEG. From the first call, when we were asked if we would like to speak to a doctor - !!!! (that NEVER happens) - to entering the practice, sitting with the technicians and doctors as they worked tirelessly to help our sweet boy, to the follow up calls and photos as he spent the night getting continuous care and cuddles, as well as the immediate and cheerful response to all of our phone calls ... it was incredible. I have never been surrounded by so much love, caring and professionalism in all my years of taking pets to emergency facilities. Customer care is unmatched. All the staff clearly adores animals, and their owners too. We did ultimately have to take our sweet puppy to our regular vet who diagnosed a likely autoimmune disorder - which the doctors at VEG suspected, but as that is not an emergency issue (and is a very complex problem), we ultimately had to take the next step to get an official diagnosis - but he used the very thorough tests that VEG had already done to give us a huge head start in solving the issue. I am so very grateful to everyone at VEG for being there for us when we most needed it. A very well-deserved five stars for this practice.
I literally cant get over how amazing their staff is! Phenomenal, attentive and caring! Not just about my animal but for me as well! Worked with me to help get the best care for such an emergent situation! They generally cared about my animal! Joe and Dr Crowley are the best!!!!!
A+ on customer service, snacks and drinks. F on cost, 3 times my normal vet, D- on diagnosis. My cat had stopped eating and was hiding in a closet which was highly unusual. Since an ice storm was coming, I had an app with my normal vet for Monday but had no idea if the roads would allow me to take her so I went in on Saturday before the storm hit. $1400+ dollars later they had taken X-rays, said she may have cancer and gave her 100 ML fluids though they told me she was not dehydrated. They wanted to call in a mobile oncologist and start chemo. We said no and took our baby home. 24 hours later she was normal, pooped out a bit of tinsel and was running through the house like normal. Got all the records and provided to our normal vet whom noted no changes and no cancer. Our baby is doing well and we feel ripped off. If my cat was hit by a car and needed emergency service, I would still look for somewhere else but would use them nay if no other choice.
We are so appreciative of everything this staff did to help us with our beloved cat. They were so helpful, caring & compassionate with our sweet little boy. he didnt make it unfortunately but we felt he was definitely in good hands & we were able to be with him during his final moments.thank you so much VEG @ Avalon.
Absolutely hands down the best of the best !! Thank you TWO TAILZ RESCUE for referring me to these remarkable people !! I brought my BIGGIE in on Saturday because he could not stand up! The compassion , the kindness, and the expertise of Dr. Sands, Joe and the entire staff at VEG were absolutely the best !!
Ive always had multiple dogs and cats in my household and have experienced many types medical emergencies, so I am no stranger to vet and ER fees. My dog needed overnight care while recovering from a spleen removal. Hes 12 and has a heart condition so he needed extra monitoring throughout the night. I had heard that VEG was more reasonably priced than Blue Pearl and I thought Id give them a try. I was truly shocked when I received the estimate for 2 days of hospitalization at VEG-- $4,600 if he needed a transfusion, $3,600 if no transfusion was necessary. The VEG estimate was more than twice the cost of his very complicated 3-hour surgery. I looked through all my invoices for surgeries that INCLUDED 3-4 days of hospitalization and 24-hour care from Blue Pearl, and all were about half of the $4,600 VEG estimate. In fairness to VEG, the staff provided Migo with great care and were very nice, but the clinics pricing is outrageous and I will continue to use Blue Pearl and Animal Emergency Center in Sandy Springs in the future.
Had to take my senior dog here to be put to sleep on a Sunday. The staff was very nice we were sent straight away to a room just for euthanasia. This was a lot better than having to wait in the lobby with all the other pets there for various reasons. When it was our turn they put the catheter in and asked if we wanted more time or were ready. We were also allowed to take whatever time we needed in the room after it was done. We paid to have her ashes returned and got them a few days later. Even got a condolence card signed by all the staff which was nice considering they didn’t even know us. Price was reasonable too. Thanks to all the staff for being so kind to us on such a difficult day. Kevin, Alicia and Havana
Christmas morning my dog became bowel obstructed. It was a horrible event and very scary to see my dog be that sick, but I am SO glad I took him to VEG. If this nightmare had to happen, Im glad it happened there. I was absolutely flabbergasted by the expertise, professionalism, bedside manner, and comfort provided by everyone at VEG; namely Dr. Gonzalez (a literal superhero), Dr. Bible, Brooke, Courtney, Christina, Meg, Erian, Kells, Precious, and Alexis (only to name a few!!). Their job is one of the most difficult I can imagine, and they all handled every challenge with grace. I truly cannot thank them enough for saving my dog and making this experience as palatable as possible. They not only took care of him, but me as well. They allowed me to stay with him and do some of the simpler tasks involved in his care in order to minimize stress on him- he is aggressive and afraid of strangers in his space. Not once did they refer to him as a mean dog- only spicy! I appreciated this beyond belief. They were so understanding and accepting of his difficult nature and I am so incredibly grateful for everything they did for us. Thanks to them, my best friend is home safe!
I cannot say enough good things about this facility!! From the moment we walked in the door until the time we left I was amazed at what great care my fur baby received and the professionalism of the entire team!!! I have told all of my friends and family about VEG as we all have pets. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!!!
A referral from our regular vet sent usTo VEG and our family is incredibly impressed with this amazing facility. We Took our sweet huge kitty Tod in for urinary issues and from the moment we arrived we knew exactly what was Going on, the care that he needed and options for cost to make him all better.I love Dr Sands and the incredible staff!! Amazing!!!
Fantastic experience. Very caring professional staff that went above and beyond to take in a dehydrated, malnourished domesticated rabbit someone had moved off and abandoned. They quickly acted to lower the shock and stress of the rabbit by giving it the necessary medical treatment.I will recommend this practice to everyone I know and take my own pet there if the need should ever arise.
I cant say enough good things about this clinic. The entire staff is amazing. I had to bring my two little foster puppies last night and they received the best care. I absolutely love the open concept treatment area. And them being willing to work with rescues is truly amazing! Thank you all for taking such great care of Angels Among Us Jillien and Joe Jo.
I am so thankful that I came here. I was having some issues with my yorkie puppy. He was not eating all day along with some other issues. It was really late until the night I would say probably around 11 to 12 oclock in the morning. And of course his vet is not open. So I did a Google research and I see that VEG was open 24/7 and I gave them a call and they allowed me to speak to the veterinarian. After speaking to her she insisted that I came in because of how small Kobe was. So I decided to go in period I was not far away, I live in the loot area so it was about a 13 minute ride. Which was perfect. For it to be the middle of the night, these lazdies were alert and on it ! They greeted Kobe and informed me of everything that they were going to do and they were so careful with my puppy TheyzS greeted Kobe and informed me of everything that they were going to do and they were so careful and helpful with my puppy. After getting the vitals anad running a couple of tests, the vet came out to talk to me Dr. Kali Sands. Gave me some options and was really helpful in making a final decision for my lil guy. Their customer service outweighs the price that I paid and Im forever grateful. Huge shout out to the ladies that took care of me and Kobe l that late night/early morning. They were such a blessing, so informative, helpful and caring. I would definitely recommend coming here and I have been ever since I went.
We came in pretty late last night after having complications with my 7 month old dachshund from getting neutered earlier in the day. Our normal vet was closed so we thought we would try out coming here and I’m so glad we did! Service was so fast and every single person on staff was so kind and helpful. The building was spotless and overall just a nice open environment. We were out in no time! I couldn’t recommend this place enough I would give them 1000000/10 if i could!
Today we had to put down our beloved Beagle named Kip. I can honestly say the staff, the Dr.(s) were all SO caring, informative, transparent and compassionate. Explained each procedure thoroughly and gave us “realistic” expectations. Clinic is spotless and looks like a hospital. I can not think of a better way for our pet to end his last day. Professional and compassionate. You and your pets will not be disappointed.
These guys are Angels sent from heaven! Kate was truly amazing, so helpful and understanding, walked us through every step of the way with the best disposition. Times are tough and money is short so they even helped us work out a payment plan. Kate, Dr.MacLain, and Dr.Euler graciously helped our little baby Autumn! They are some of the kindest human beings I’ve had the pleasure to meet. No words could ever express how grateful we are to these ladies!
My sweet puppy ate a sock and started to show bad symptoms that it was affecting her. My vet was closed so I frantically looked for somewhere to take her and I came across VEG. And thank goodness I did. I will forever be greatful for my experience and the staff. My puppy was well taken care of. It honestly brings me to tears how helpful and caring everyone was. I will always recommend this location to anyone who ask and vow to make a very generous donation in the future. 100/10
The staff and vet are so passionate and sweet to the animals. I love that they do the intake on the floor next to the pet if they need to. They get down to eye level with your animal and it shows compassion and love. They have state of the art equipment and you can see where your pet is taken because it’s an open large room ER. I love how inclusive and open it all feels. I’d highly recommend it to any pet owner for emergencies.
Dr. McClean and her team were prepared, prompt, polite, efficient, knowledgeable, and competent when I brought my dehydrated Standard Poodle in on a Sunday afternoon. They did a basic work up of her symptoms and offered and array of options. And they were completely accepting of my decision to hydrate her and let us go on to our regular vet the next day. No hard sell, no threat of what could happen. Most important, they calmed ME down and were very reassuring. They followed up with a text. I am very grateful to VEG and would recommend to any pet owner with any reservation.
I took my dog Oliver to VEG and could not be happier with their level of service. I’ve travelled with my dogs from FL to ME to AZ and everywhere in between. I’ve had to visit my fair share of emergency vets when things come up on the road away from our normal vet, and this was the best service I’ve seen. From the moment I walked in everyone was friendly and helpful. I saw a doctor within 3 minutes, literally. They treated Oliver with great care. Not only that, but I called hours later with a question and the doctor who treated Oliver got on the phone and discussed the case further. Fast, attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. What else can you ask for in an ER vet?
I can’t even begin to explain how incredible of an experience was at this emergency vet. They are new, with an all female staff and seriously have their stuff together!! I’ve gone to almost every emergency vet in the area over the last several years and they were the sweetest and had the best communication. Highly highly recommend. They really know how to not only take great care of your pet, but the owner as well.
The staff here is absolutely incredible. My dog is super scared of people and they were so accommodating to her needs to make her as comfortable as possible. I think the name of our doctor was Dr. Johnson and she was SO informative, I left confident Knowing that my dog will be okay. I never write reviews but I had to write one about this fantastic vet!!!
Staff are highly knowledgeable and compassionate about animal care. Animal owners are allowed to be present for treatment when practical. Billing practices are transparent and procedures are performed with prior consent. The facility is clean and they take precautions to prevent the spread of disease between animals. This is a safe place to bring your injured animal.
Treated with respect, professionalism and compassion towards my pet over the phone and in-person visit. Dr. Alexandra MacLean, Kate, and Precious were absolutely the best, seriously. They calmed my nerves as a pet mom and my puppy did an incredible job during the procedures - the whole experience itself was unbelievable and very satisfied. Thank you to all heroes for saving our pets and, in particular, for this incredible team! My puppy is doing so much better! For pet owners, please be extra cautious of how much food your pet eats (could get a tummy ache), what they consume, and I may add, keep them calm because stress and anxiety may come up which can cause various different illnesses, please. All pets want to be loved more than anything. Keep them in peace and calmness to prevent from having high hospital expenses and stress. Thank you 🙏🏼
Seriously, the nicest group of people. I never felt so welcome before. Dr. Nicole Roberts was amazing, shes so nice and was very gentle with my dog. The whole hospital was friendly from the beginning to the end. They bring you to back with your pet so you get to see whats going on which I love.So happy I came here and will most definitely recommend them to everyone.
VEG has been absolutely AMAZING! They saved my dear little puppy for when he needed it most! They reacted very quickly and professionally as well as courteously! They had been absolutely kind throughout my entire experience with them! It is THE place to go if your pet should ever need emergency care ASAP! My sweet puppy and I cant thank them enough!
We had an energency with our cat on a Friday night. We originally went to a competitor, but they wanted to keep her separated from us and had a long wait. At VEG, we were seen immediately and we were with our cat every step of the way. All of the vet techs and the veterinarian were so kind and thoughtful. They treated our cat with care and concern. Hopefully, we will not need an emergency vet again, but if we do, we will be returning to VEG.
I have never actually take then time to write a review before, but I have to write this one. Our 8 month-old puppy turned up foaming at the mouth most likely from a run-in with a toxic toad at the dog park. We were incredibly stressed and found VEG online. When we walked in, we realized we made the right choice. We got to stay with our pup every step of the way and would have been welcome to spend the night if he needed to stay. The peace of mind that comes with being present with your pet is priceless. Every single member of the team was professional, kind, and positive. The vet, Dr. Corley, took the time to evaluate our puppy and explain everything to us in detail with her full attention during our time with her. If we should ever need an emergency vet again, this is the only place we would trust to take care of our little guy! Thank you to everyone at VEG Alpharetta for what you do--you are everyday heroes!
The staff and doctors here are beyond amazing. I brought my kitty Bootsie here on the recommendation of the equally amazing Crabapple animal hospital. They thought she had pneumonia but when I arrived she was almost unresponsive. The vet techs immediately sprung into action and had her in an oxygen chamber. I was taken to a private room and a very sweet young lady ( I’m so sorry I can’t remember your name!) comforted me and bright me a drink and tissues. The techs worked tirelessly on my Bootsie for over two hours, they let me sit right there with her and kept me up to date with what they were doing. Dr. Corey (I believe that is her name) was so kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. Unfortunately my girl wasn’t going to make it. They let me hold her as Dr. Corey let my baby transition to the other side. I can’t tell you all how much I appreciate your empathy and compassion for me yesterday, it really felt like you all are passionate about your jobs and truly care for your patients and pet parents. You all made a horrible experience a little less hard. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
BOTTOM LINE:Being able to stay with your fur baby while theyre sick is an absolute game changer. Friendly and kind staff. If your babe is truly sick, they wont get the care they need unless youre prepared to advocate, push, and demand to read every report yourself. Would we go back? If we absolutely had to return to an emergency vet, we would be willing to return here. However, we would go in prepared to demand a strong attention to detail and actual care within the veterinary practice.PROS:1. Really nice, clean facility.2. Open concept and owners are allowed to stay with their pets. This was HUGE for us as we were able to stay with our sweet pup for the 24 hours she was at VEG. Being able to sit with her and offer comfort when she was so sick and scared instead of putting her in a cage and just leaving her was truly everything.3. The staff were all incredibly kind and didnt rush their time with you.4. Staff walks you through a proposed treatment plan and cost estimate before they provide services.5. Seem to do best at patching up pets or emergency surgery.CONS:1. They do not regularly check on patients. Because we were the only family that stayed 24 hours with our fur baby the evening/day we were there, I know that they arent checking in on your fur babies sitting in crates as often as you might think. I also know if I had not been there to advocate for my girl, she would have sat in a cage for way longer than 24 hours.2. They do not take a medical history or ask follow up questions as new evidence presents itself. In our case, we landed in the ER because our pup ate a string (we saw her eat it). X-rays were inconclusive so they gave nausea meds, fluids, and said they wanted to keep her for observation and perform another X-ray 8 hours later. It wasnt until the day after we were discharged when I received the write-up and vets notes from our stay. When reviewing the vets report I immediately noticed that the radiologist reports specifically noted signs of pancreatitis. Now, if VEG had bothered to ask if our girl has a history of stomach trouble or pancreatitis I would have been able to tell them that she had a pancreatitis flare up for the first time back in July. But they didnt. And I didnt know to ask.3. They will do the bare minimum. The day after we were discharged, we ended up at our regular vet (thank goodness!). She immediately called out that VEG had failed to do bloodwork (to look further into pancreatitis or anything else). After running a blood panel we confirmed pancreatitis as well as an infection that required antibiotics. She was still dehydrated and they gave her more fluids (subcutaneously which wed asked about at VEG and been told were unnecessary). Our regular vet also ran a stool and urine sample. Ultimately, we were able to conclude that while she did eat a string (again, we saw her eat it), the string had nothing whatsoever to do with her symptoms.
I took my girl in for some major stitching- I was freaking out. But my girls vitals were stable and overall fine-- but I was not. Belle made sure I was, she understood what needed to be done to calm me down and it was truly impressive. The grace that was shown by this staff, their ability to stay calm, and put the animals first--- no matter what-- is EXACTLY why I would go back here (I hope I never need to, of course, but it gives me comfort to know I would know where to go). They have a full transparency set up, not that I took advantage of this open floor style-- but our vet, Dr. Alagappan and her VetTech Angelica were fantastic! This whole staff was so kind, even after this scared fur-momma was not. I really appreciate the grace here. Thank you, ladies.
Brought my dog here on the recommendation of my vet as they (my vet) were closing up for the day and I didn’t have time to bring my dog in on what I believed was a splinter in her paw. I live in East Cobb and after reading the poor reviews of the Emergency Vets near us (6+ hour waits in reviewers’ cars, rude staff, pushy business people trying to sell) I am so happy I took my vet’s recommendation and came here. Clean, fully staffed, everyone there was masked up. Great service and for as busy as they were when we came in, we were in and out in about an hour. The technicians and vet was very professional and answered our questions fully. We never felt rushed considering there were probably other pets in for more serious things than a splinter. Luckily they didn’t find anything (and they were quite thorough) They weren’t pushy on trying to sell us X-rays or pain meds, they did recommend it but my pup wasn’t in pain (she seemed uncomfortable before we brought her in but no whimpering or anything), we told them if she continues to exhibit “out of normal behavior” we’d take her to our vet next day and they left it at that. They did say that our payment for them just to see her would extend 24 hours. So if we needed to bring her back, that portion of her visit wouldn’t be charged again. Overall I would highly recommend other owners’ bringing their fur babies here!
We were completely blown away at the care our dog received. The idea that we could be with our pet throughout the entire process was so comforting. Not only did they care for our dog, but they cared for us as well, even putting an eno hammock in the room for us to sleep in. The open, team concept creates a culture like no other. This should be your only stop for emergency care for you pet. Special shout out to Gabby. She loved our dog like she was her own.
Brought my cat in late on a Sunday night. The staff saw her immediately. They were very professional and courteous. They showed me all of the options that they could preform before proceeding. I hope I do not have to come back again, but if I do I am comforted that I have this fantastic option in the area.
Two days ago I arrived at VEG with my very ill cat. She had low HR and wasn’t eating or drinking. I was immediately seen by Dr Howell and her staff the second I walked in the door. They began taking vitals and made a treatment plan with me. I told them that as a student, finances were a very important part of her care plan. She worked around my budget and helped me choose what was best for my very unstable kitty. The decision to hospitalize her was made. I stayed with her the whole night and was able to be by her side with the amazing set up of their ER. They provide all the care right in front of you and allow the owners to stay with their pets throughout the entire process. As the night went on I watched the staff and Dr Howell care for up to 10 patients at a time: planning, prioritizing and meeting the needs of each independent family. It was absolutely amazing how well they handled the stress and remained on task. By the morning, Dr Howell decided it would be best for my cat to be transferred to UGA to meet with specialist since her condition was so complex. Dr Howell went above and beyond to ensure I got to UGA and personally called and spoke with the doctors at UGA to prepare them for our arrival. I recommend this hospital to anybody who is in need of care for their fur babies and I could not be more grateful for the care we received from this Vet and her team.
You guys are amazing. My cat jinx passed away back in December, and all I can say after all this time is that everyone on shift was so incredibly intelligent, mindful, helpful and caring I couldn’t have asked for better people in that situation. Y’all are rockstars and deserve the world. Thank you
My experience with this practice was only over the phone, but I still wanted to leave a review. Even at 4am, they were so nice and understanding of my concerns when I thought I needed to bring my dog in. They discussed some potential options and prices with me over the phone and when it turned out that I didnt need to come in, they seemed genuinely happy that everything was fine. I cant tell you how much I appreciated their kindness and patience.
Had to go to this VEG location from Virginia Highland when all in-town animal hospitals were at capacity or had 3+ hour wait around 8:30pm. The staff was caring (to pets and their parents) and professional and the facility was clean and well-run. Highly recommend if in need.
The people who work here are wonderful. They are compassionate, friendly, knowledgeable and comforting. I was so grateful to them when we had to bring our cat in. They saw us quickly and explained everything throughly. They also gave us different options for treatment at different price points. I will never take my babies anywhere else. Thank you everyone!
I cannot express the gratitude I have for the VEG team. Extremely attentive, informative, affordable and caring. The receptionist on the phone had a soothing/calming voice that it helped my neurotic self to calm down and actually go there. All the vet techs were right there to help Anelli bc she was in extreme pain, wasnt eating, anxious and had labored breathing. I loved all the options that they gave us. She eventually had swimmers tail which Im glad to say its not a bigger issue. I also feel like this was the most affordable vet hospital in alpharetta, they were extremely reasonable and didnt break my pocket. Thank you VEG! Anelli and I love you all.
Couldn’t recommend VEG Alpharetta more! Our dog Maya was having diarrhea for the past couple of days and woke us up at 4am vomiting a reddish bile with some blood in her stool. We knew it was time to get her checked out by a vet. Saw VEG on google and immediately took her. Vet Tech McKinney promptly checked us in upon our arrival and Dr. Sands immediately examined Maya. After some X-rays, fluids, and medication Maya was already feeling better. Dr. Sands and McKinney were very patient and caring especially as Maya was very nervous during her entire stay. They answered all of our questions and made the whole experience very pleasant for us.
I cannot express how wonderful everyone was during my time of panic, when I brought in my sweet Westie girl Glory, because she had difficulty breathing. There werent signs of any discomfort, nor anything out of the ordinary before this time. Glory was examined very thoroughly, and I was shocked to learn that after the ultra sound, it was discovered that there were two masses in her abdomen, and fluid around her lungs. I learned later that it was hemangiosarcoma, and though there was nothing that could be done, the Dr. and staff professionally told me what was best for Glory when I was in denial to let go of my girl. They let me take pictures and didnt rush me out while I was there, and that was greatly appreciated. Glory was calm and was not in any distress, so I am thankful that I got to spend time with her before letting her go. She was so peaceful. For that, and more, I cant thank your team enough for all that you have done! Also, I received a hand signed card from the staff, which was quite special and comforting. Thank you so much, and keep up the great work that you do!
Dr. Howell and Dr. Sands have taken care of my cat Tido who has had many emergency urinary problems. Every time I have visited this clinic they have treated me and my pets so wonderful. I would highly recommend taking your pet here for any emergency needs! Their entire team is so genuine and caring for animals and their owners and it always shows! Thank you to everyone who works here!
The staff was so caring, but then we were given the wrong meds prescription/dosage for both treatments we were given, poor instructions, and ultimately resulted in a rehospitalization for pain med overdose for our rabbit Hazel. If you do go here, check dosage online and review all prescriptions and confirm how and when they should be administered again, CAREFULLY, with the doctor.More details:Our bunny, Hazel, was given a shot of pain meds during her visit for GI stasis, and we were also prescribed meloxicam oral medication. We were not told not to start treatment immediately, so we administered her first dose of meloxicam (which is once a day) when we did her first critical care feeding. Btw, the critical care dosage AND the meloxicam dosage were written incorrectly, which were only noticed because we called to confirm since they didn’t look right. After 36 hours of home care, our bunny started swaying and showed loss of balance. We immediately took her to another ER vet, All Species, and she was diagnosed with pain med overdose. She is now in a 3 day hospital stay to check X-rays, monitor liver function which may have been damaged from the OD, and flush her system.Cool looking place, sweet staff, maybe good for dogs & cats, but unacceptable sloppiness and life threatening mistakes for our poor sweet girl.
Staff is incredibly kind and caring. Bedside manner is top notch. They really took the time to treat me and my dog well. The bad news was delivered as well as possible, and good referrals were given for next steps. Also, since it opened relatively recently, they had very high end and new technology on hand.
This team is probably the best team of vets and technicians that I have worked with. I had a sick bunny, and I was a wreck running around looking for someone to help after hours. This team was fast, caring, knowledgeable, and kind. I realize this is just a bunny, but they realized that this is a part of my family, and she deserves a high level of care. I cannot thank them enough for the support they gave me in helping little Hops.
Everyone here was incredibly kind sweet and compssionate i was given three different scenarios for my pet as options for care the best option in their opinion being immediate surgery and that even with that may need long term medical care and so with that euthanasia should also be considered. I was prepared to say goodbye. After paying an absurd aMount the dr at veg told me surgery was definitely needed I took my baby to another Dr. And the 2nd opinion was that he did NOT need surgery and was 100% STABLE!?! (This was within an hour) Totally gobsmacked after everything Id been thru! Take him home two days later. Im so glad I didnt have to say good-bye or even do a surgery. This place is staffed with good seem to be well intentions people. But I would def get a 2nd opinion.euthanas
I never write reviews but I was so blown away with this group. We had to take our dog in as an emergency last weekend. Dr. Stevens,DrMclane and the staff were beyond amazing. They made the sad situation comfortable and I am forever grateful for their kindness that weekend. A wonderful emergency vet clinic!
This was such a traumatic time for us. Our cat was very ill and we brought her in. The staff could not have been nicer. Dr. Sands, Kelly and another young lady whose name i did not get but was equally wonderful not only to our kitty but to us. We had to make that difficult decision and they talked to us and gave us all the time we needed. They took her right in and did what they could. I appreciate everything they did for us. Thank you ladies for your kindness at such a difficult time.
Do NOT take your pet here if you’re having an emergency. My small yorkie was attacked by a pitbull. I rushed her to the vet and when I get here holding my poor baby who is clearly traumatized, the staff is just talking to each other at the front desk. Nobody acknowledged me for a couple minutes. Finally I speak to the front desk girl (who’s name I did not get) and she puts me in a room. Joe checked her vitals asked what the problem is and says a doctor will be in soon. 30 minutes go by no doctor. I go to the front desk girl and ask her how long will it be so I can figure out if I need to take her somewhere else. She won’t answer my question and keeps saying a doctor is coming. Finally we see a doctor (Stephanie) and she checks my dog, says Joe will give her a shot. When Joe comes in I had a question about something the doctor had said and he asks if I want to ask the doctor so I said sure. Before leaving he says “thanks for holding me up”. The doctor Stephanie comes back in and seems annoyed about having to do so answers my questions then leaves. Joe comes back in aggressively throwing prices at me. When he sees my boyfriend and I look at each other shocked by his hostility he asks if everything is ok and shrugged it off. We got here at 4:30. 6:00 we still don’t know what’s wrong because they haven’t xrayed her but already coming up with treatment plans and how much the bill is going to be. 8:00 X-ray comes back worse than expected and I had to put my dog down. While I’m crying my eyes out and picking which urn will be sent to my house and waiting for my dog to come in the room for our last goodbyes, the front desk girl proceeds to tell me the bill. SO inappropriate, she could’ve waited. This was just a few of the unfortunate things that happened during my visit. My biggest concern is if you are working in this profession, I understand it is a stressful job but your staff lacks compassion, patience, communication. Which is a very important part of this job. They seem to care about money more than the pets. I lost my best friend yesterday and she suffered longer than she should’ve. They treated my boyfriend and I like we were a problem, we didn’t care about any of the information they were giving us for 4 hours until we saw the X-ray but the X-ray is the last thing they did when it should’ve been the FIRST. Poorly handled and I wish I could rate this place -1000.
Had a scary situation with my pet beagle and this entire operation was absolutely amazing. They not only took care of my pet, but genuinely took care of me and my parents. They were extremely hospitable. Because this is an emergency place, I hope I dont have to return, but if i find myself needing immediate care, I will definitely be back. Special shout out to Dr Kali and Jordan. Thank you for being so awesome 👏
We just happened to find VEG in middle of the night, and we were incredibly lucky to do so. Unfortunately, we have had several ER visits over the years, and found other ERs staff to be somewhat cold and sterile, which is somewhat understandable given the nature of the business where the vets and staff are constantly in stressful situations. On top of that, during the last 18 months since COVID was an issue, you werent able to be with your pet when they are stressed out. We found the exact opposite at VEG in Alpharetta. Every single person we came in contact with was so kind, caring, and knowledgeable. We were able to stay with our dog when he was scared and in pain, and the staff was overly supportive to a somewhat scared mom. I could go on and on but if you find yourself in need, you wont be able to beat the staff at VEG. Thank you for being great!
Lovely facility! Quick visit, walked in and was seen in 5 minutes. The staff is wonderful, friendly, and can tell they really care. Very informative and great communication on pricing. Will definitely visit here again for any and all of my pups emergencies. Thank you VEG!
The BEST service ever! The doctor and all staff were just simply amazing. I cannot even begin to express how wonderful their service was. If I ever need emergency vet service in the future - then I will certainly be back. Thank you so much for taking care of my Lady.
Thank you Dr. Johnson, Jordan and staff at VEG. We appreciate more than words can express everything you did for our Reggie and us. We arrived in the early morning hours with Reggie. The doors to the examining area were wide open and you waved us back into the exam area. Without wasting any time completing paperwork, Dr. Johnson began examining Reggie while a tech got information about Reggie’s heart condition. Within a few minutes, Dr.Johnson told us Reggie’s plan for treatment. After helping Reggie calm down, he was placed in an oxygen unit and we were told Reggie should begin to feel better and he did. He seemed to rest for awhile. The team placed a sofa by Reggie’s unit so we could be with him while Dr.Johnson monitored him. Reggie woke looking much better and saw me smiling at him. He gave me a doggy kiss from his side of the glass. Thank you VEG for that special memory. After awhile,Dr Johnson said that she would be removing Reggie from the unit and said that Reggie’s response would determine the next steps. After the unit was stopped,I picked Reggie up and Dr Johnson said to bring him to the exam table. His tongue was turning blue.Dr Johnson said that Jordan would drive and she would take care of Reggie while we followed behind. They had packed medical supplies including oxygen mask and oxygen. While driving down Atlanta 400, Dr Johnson and Jordan had to pull off to the side of the road. Reggie had gone into cardiac arrest. Dr Johnson revived him and we rushed to the emergency hospital. Dr Johnson quickly jumped out rushing Reggie to a critical care team explaining Reggie’s condition. She came back to explain all that had happened. A hospital tech ask if Reggie should be resuscitated. I was so thankful Dr Johnson was there to walk us through that decision. Reggie went into cardiac arrest again while the critical care team tried to intubate him.We lost our sweet Reggie.I am so thankful for VEG’s approach to caring for our beloved pets. Thanks to their approach,we were able to spend quality time with Reggie and Reggie was comforted by our presence. It may not seem like the appropriate time to mention costs but you should know that all this special care was affordable. Thank you VEG for making it possible for us to give Reggie the best treatment available. We will never forget all you did for our Reggie and us.

2022-04-19My puppy that we adopted last week had to be hospitalized at VEG with parvovirus for 48 hours. Throughout our entire stay at VEG we received exceptional care from every single staff member that we encountered. They let me stay in the isolation room with my puppy as long as I wanted, and the techs always checked in frequently to see how she was doing, and the veterinarians were lovely every time they came to do an exam. The pricing for the hospital stay was extremely transparent and I truly feel that they are not trying to take advantage of owners as some emergency vet offices do. They provided amazing care for our puppy and she loved everyone she met there. The techs will even send pictures of our puppy to me when Im not there to update me. The Vet called every morning to tell me how the overnight went. We cannot recommend VEG enough and we are so grateful for them!

2022-08-15These people are angels on earth. I brought my furry heart in, struggling to breathe with fluid around her lungs. They never made us stop to check in, just started working on my sweet Molly immediately. I never had my hands off of her while they treated her. It became obvious to me that she needed to be put to sleep but the staff kept working for another little bit--enough to try but not so much that Molly had to suffer too much. When the decision was made, they had a special, quiet space for us to love her, rub her ears, and kiss her to sleep. They gave us all the time we needed and it meant the world to me. As we left, they were so kind, as if we hadnt met only an hour before. They helped me through one of the darkest hours of my life with compassion and so much love for Molly. Thank you so much.

2022-06-07Had to take my baby girl in because there was blood in her feces for 4 days🥴 shes a 13 yo diabetic and when i say they treated us like we mattered, made us feel VERY comfortable. Im glad i came here for a second opinion because our family vet was sadly of no help, but Dr. Stewart was a dream. ALL of the nurses were extremely helpful, the cleanliness, everything. Please don’t hesitate to visit this lovely place. All they want is the best for your baby.

2022-05-15Truly an amazing staff who worked to get my kitty Georgie feeling better. They allowed me to stay with Georgie the entire time. I’m the staff is the friendliest, most compassionate group of people I’ve ever met. I cannot say enough fabulous things about them from the front desk to procedures, and everything in between. Every person there gets involved in the care of your animal and I am so appreciative! Thank you!

2022-06-29Received the best treatment for my dog, (George) who had bloody diarrhea. I was in panic since we were out of state and he has never been this sick. Their emergency care is top notch! From the receptionist, technicians to doctors, they were all amazing. I’m so happy that this kind of service is available for pets. His vitals were checked the minute we stepped foot, the vet saw him in less than 30 minutes. I got to see the whole process and was even allowed to stay overnight which made a huge difference. Thank you to the everyone who helped us out! 💕🐶

2021-12-15I wish they were a regular vet as well because they are beyond awesome. My Dane has pneumonia & was suffering a lot & unfortunately, my vet wasn’t very helpful other than recommending VEG. So happy that they did. VEG went above & beyond for my Zeus. They did as much as they could to make my family comfortable. Honestly from Alexis calming me down when I called to tell them I’m on the way, to Lin doing Zeus’s intake to Dr. Corley, Dr. Sands, Gabbie, Meg, Christine, Sandy, Dr. Howell & Dr. McLean & everyone else involved in his care, thank you so much. (I apologize to those that I didn’t mention, I forgot a lot of names). This group is compassionate, willing to work with you, and is worth every penny. I got to sit with Zeus the whole time & went home only for food & 3 hours of sleep. These people really care about animals & watching you succeed as a pet parent & watching your fur baby succeed. I would always recommend VEG. I’m just praying I don’t have to see you guys anytime in the near future 💛🥰

2022-03-09I just want to say how wonderful VEG is! Unfortunately I had to take my dog there last night. They were so kind and understanding. My Jillian is terrified of the Vet. And they knew right away. They took their time with her and sat down on the floor to try and comfort her. They gave us options in how to treat her problem. And no PRESSURE! They let us decide what was best for her. I highly recommend them. I hope we dont have to go back. But, if we do I know they will take great care of my sweet girl. Thank you so much!

2022-05-11We absolutely love VEG! We brought our boy Gru, German shepherd, on Saturday when we noticed him having a lot of green snot running out of his nose. They suggested us getting blood work and X-rays but declined at first due to the price. So they gave us antibiotics and told us to come back if anything changed. He started to not eat yesterday, Tuesday, so we brought him back in. After X-rays and bloodwork, turns out he had pneumonia. They kept him overnight with fluids and antibiotics. Now we are home with our baby! Everyone who works at VEG is so passionate about what they do, you can tell everyone loves their job. They were so attentive with our baby and always made sure we knew what was going on throughout the process. They even offered us a hammock to stay in the room with him overnight!! We will always take our animals to VEG if we have any other emergency needs. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

2022-05-10I witnessed my beautiful Maltese being bit by a horrible Copperhead Snake on May 6, the day of her birthday. The snake bit her around 4:59pm that afternoon on my driveway. I was beyond scared and my instincts kicked in and I rushed her to the closest animal hospital which was South Forsyth Animal Hospital. On my arrival the doctor was very sorry and informed me she didnt carry the anti-venom and due to my anxiety and stress I was presenting, she decided to put the address on my phone for the place I should go immediately. I wasnt sure where i was heading but i drove so fast towards Old Milton. As soon as I walked in around 5:33pm, there were 3 medical assistants that rushed to the door and approached me. They took Bella from my hands right away. I was terrified & crying. I was then addressed by Dr. Jacquelyn Euler, she was absolutely incredible and professional. She told me everything I needed to know and answered all my questions, she was also extremely compassionated and I most say her Spanish is perfect.I witness how Bella was being taken care of with pain medication, blood work, vitals, and everyone was on point. Nurses, MAs. I was very impressed with their equipment, cleanliness, effectiveness. The receptionist Jayla was very professional and answered all my questions concerning records and billing as well. They kept my baby for 12 hours observation and even sent me pictures with her status and she looked like she was in great hands. I picked my puppy the next morning and the on-call doctor at that time was also very nice and provided me all the necessary instructions to take home.On behave of my family and friends, I thank everyone. Bella is recovering and doing wonderful thanks to this team that saved her life. I know now where to go if I ever have an emergency for my pet and I highly recommend Veterinary Emergency group in Alpharetta. Thanks.

2022-07-18Today is a wonderful day. Yesterday, our Australian Shepard Blue swallowed a fishing hook. I am so very thankful there are people that do what they do on that day. Dr. Kali Sands( and her staff) at Veterinary Emergency Group is my hero. She and her staffs expertise, professionalism, and encouragement was the reason I was able to stay clam in this situation. They were accommodating and kept us informed and made we understood and answered all questions. I was on the verge of losing it and her and the staff kept me leveled in this situation. She was able to recover the fishing hook before it became a danger for Blue. To Dr. Sands and the staff at Veterinary Emergency Group, I am so very thankful you all were on the job that day. It shows that your truly love what you do. I highly recommend this facility for they are truly heroes in Emergency situations. You all ROCK!
