Good store nice and fresh remodel makes the place look and feel nicer than it was. I will stop in here if I am not in the Thunderbolt area for some quick marine items. Only way to really take advantage of this store is to be a member of West Marine PRO or similar discount group at West Marine.
Great help from the staff, they constantly were checking to make sure we needed any help. We arrived a few minutes early, before they opened, but they saw us waiting and opened about 7-8 minutes early. We completely would have waited, but that just shows a business that has their act together. (If someone is there before a business opens, theyre usually going to buy something because they are there for something specific.)
RUDE! Customer service skills are horrible. Cashier was rude because we walked in at 5:55. Rolled her eyes, blew, and shook her head after I told her I was looking around. Then went and changed the sign to closed. I wouldnt walk another foot in the door if they paid me.
The store is fine. West Marine customer service is abysmal. I tried to register my PLUS plan online and was unable to do so; I then called the number on the PLUS plan brochure to resolve the issue and they put me on hold for over an hour, transferred me several times and have failed to resolve the issue. I assume their business plan is to frustrate you to the point where you give up. If my experience is any indication, you should not buy a PLUS plan or any product from West Marine for which you want a product protection plan.

2022-04-06Absolutely outstanding service and Georgia hospitality from Capt. John, store manager. We’re passing through the area on our boat and didn’t have easy access to the Savannah store. Capt John went out of his way to get us the parts we needed quickly.

2020-07-20Staff was great needed a bunch of wire and supplies to rewire my boat. There are a lot of things out if stock but theyre stocking bait

2021-03-31It was real nice in there. A lot of products to look at. If I hadnt brought my broke part, I wouldnt have left with my part I needed for my boat. I wish the staff was more knowledgeable about their products. But maybe they were new.

2021-06-07Left Statesboro ga today couldnt get a return call also sat on hold for 20 minutes for my custom marine part 😉.Walked in the door and was greeted by a gentleman by the name of Joey and in 3 minutes another satisfied customer..

2020-10-26Overall a great local boating store. Pricing is higher than most retailers but if you need it sameday you get what you pay for. Guys at the front could use a customer service class.

2020-10-18These guys really helped me out today. They gave me the time of day and ultimately was the solution to my problem. All 5 studs on one of my trailer tires broke off and my tire went rolling down the street. I went to Advanced Auto Parts, Lowes, and Northern Tool for solutions but nobody gave me the time of day. The guys at West Marine measured my existing wheel hub and had one on hand. Thank you guys. You will see me again.

2020-08-18The sign out front said to wear a mask to protect the employees and the customers. However, when we walked in, the younger employee had his mask on but it wasnt covering his nose or mouth. The older employee didnt have on a mask. This was the 2nd time we went to the store in 2 weeks and the older employee didnt have on one then. *Disposable masks are offerred up front to those in need but why bother.We decided we are not going back because no one offerred any assistance. The older gentleman walked to the back and was in the aisle beside us. We were trying to figure out what we needed but he ignored us. We were the only customers in the store so theyhad no excuse. We decided to leave. We started to go back in just to see if the next customer put on a free mask or not and to see what kind of service he received. We chose to leave and spend our money were we feel welcome. Stop ignoring the mandatory mask ordinance or offering good customer service.....Golden Rule. Spend your money were it is valued.
