An excellent experience with fantastic drinks and fantastic food. I started with the excellent mussels (not pictured) and the Scofflaw Basement IPA. The 25oz bone-in ribeye was phenomenal, while my server Audry was amazing! I highly recommend you visit when you’re in Blue Ridge!
Great restaurant! The food was fantastic! Our waitress Elli K was just as amazing as the food, very attentive and recommended several dishes which we tried and weren’t disappointed. We started with the Patatas Bravas and then for our entrees I had the grilled swordfish and my wife had the fish tacos. Everything was great!
If I understood correctly, this place had only been open for a week at the time of our visit. If so, Im actually kind of impressed things went as smoothly as they did. Our service was slightly hit-or-miss, but our server could not have been more earnest or eager to please, even if things didnt always go the way he had hoped. My whiskey & water burger came with sautéed onions and mint/bourbon glaze, and one or both of those was sweeter than I prefer and it didnt appeal to me personally as a burger flavor, though the entree was prepared properly. Good fries. The fish tacos were delicious and the grouper sandwich was excellent. The crab dip seemed a little too salty, but was still irresistible.Very nice drink list and a great selection of bourbons.Best part was a fantastic apple tart for dessert.
Everything started out great. We did call ahead and were seated when we arrived. Lauralee was a wonderful server. The clam chowder was excellent! However, both of our meals were just okay especially for the price. We had the grouper sandwich which wasn’t very appealing and their dill tarter sauce was too salty. I really like grouper but this was pan seared and the more I ate the more I was concerned if it was cooked enough. It was very slimy and they definitely need to serve better fries. Our other meal was the lobster Mac N cheese which was more of a small pasta dish with a little lobster and not much cheese and nothing like anything we’ve had before. It was way overpriced for the small portion! We were really looking forward to a very tasty meal but both entrees were just okay. I would definitely recommend the clam chowder and the staff we encountered was very nice but that’s the only good points we had. We really don’t like to leave negative comments but we were very disappointed.
We ate here twice this week and we’re going back before heading home because it’s that good. So good I didn’t have to ask for salt. First time there we had lunch; clam soup (best I had in ages!), mussels, fish tacos with home made tortillas. Amazing! Tonight we had the scallops with a smooth mango sauce, halibut steak with an olive sauce and the bouillabaisse that was just right. Great ambience and excellent service. Every plate we tasted shows the chefs know what they are doing. Go there and let them surprise you.
We experienced Whiskey and Water on Christmas Eve with a party of 18 and even changed our reservations at last minute, since we left Helen, GA later than expected. They were very accommodating and the ambiance was very warm and inviting. They have a great whiskey and bourbon selection to go with their 5 star menu. The service was outstanding and the food was even better! It was hard to believe a team of two chefs produced such a great meal in such a timely manner. I highly recommend Whiskey and Water to anyone spending time in Blue Ridge, GA. Thank you to the staff and owners for taking such outstanding care of our party on a holiday evening!!
Most places in Blue Ridge offer good food, good drinks or great service. Whiskey and Water has delivered on all three fronts. The service I received from Matt and Tonya did not only exceed my expectations or a small town vibe but really made me feel welcome. I have tried their Bone-In Pork Shank and Shrimp Al Ajillo, WOW!!!! Sooo good, cute little back yard to enjoy the fresh Blue Ridge air. Will come back to this place any chance I get. Thank you Matt and Tonya, it’s nice to feel welcomed to your home town.
Food was excellent, and plated well. Staff was pleasant, and professional. Prices arent bad, especially considering the area. I have lived and eaten all over Mexico, and the fish tacos were not only authentic, but just as lovely to look at as to eat. The scallops were decent, while I found the sauce a bit on the heavy side, not at all unpleasant. Although it is a fish restaurant, and the fish selections are quite nice, I would venture to say that the meat offerings are even better! They chef pays attention with beef selection when considering fat content, flavor, and finish. I am, generally speaking, a Knock Off the Horns and Hit It With a Zippo kind of guy, chef presented me with a medium burger each time, and he might have changed my pallet for the future! The pork shank is especially inviting and well prepared, not too heavy, but at the same time generous in portion. The same can be said for the steaks... And they really knock it out of the park with these! The bar area is cozy, as is the forward seating area, but not claustrophobic. It is an excellent place for anything from a first (or fifty first) date. Lighting is low, but not Lounge Low and the music provided is pleasant, present, but not overpowering. As the name suggests, the whiskey menu is extensive, and well researched. Outside seating is available, along with a thoughtful fire pit to help you get in touch with the authentic Mountain Experience but a few heat lamps would be lovely. Highly recommend. Im including some photos of the fare, although they do not do the food justice! (The lighting is less than ideal and the images definitely need editing).
This was the most amazing first visit ever!! The food, atmosphere, service higher than 5 stars! Met one of the owners Andy and he was so friendly and personable. We had the mussels for appetizer and the best weve ever had. The whiskey and water burger was perfect! Cant wait to go back for dinner.
Our first night staying in Blue Ridge we checked out downtown and many things were closed during the week, as it was a Tuesday. We tried to get into another restaurant and received below average customer service. The staff at Whiskey and Water were all very kind and went above and beyond to be attentive to us and got us seated quicker than promised. Great vibe and food. The fish tacos were our favorite.
Im giving 2 stars simply for the customer service! Everyone has a bad day and this was theirs! While we were there at an off time, between lunch and dinner, the food was seriously bad! The French fries and the patty of the burger were good! The bun was very dry, seemed old, and maybe left out. The fish from the fish and frittes was undercooked and the batter was raw, sticking to the roof of my mouth. Caroline/Carolyn was awesome in handling the situation! She offered to fix us anything else, but we declined. She did offer us a complimentary dessert so we took her up on it. We took it to go. Sadly, it was burnt! I will give them another shot during busier times! Hopefully, theyll do better, especially for the price point!
Overall the experience was very good. The food was great! The clam pot had a very good flavor, although the bread that came along with it was mediocre. The corn tasted amazing. I had the smash burger, which was good, but somewhat soggy and the onions/pickles fell out of it. The fries that came along with the burger were exquisite, and make the dish as a whole great. They were crispy and had a very good seasoning blend, which after a few fries seems like it may be too strong, but is well balanced by the ketchup. I finished my fries with half a burger left even though it came with plenty of fries. They were just that good! Most of the ingredients have a very high quality taste and were enjoyable to eat.The service was pretty good, but nothing exceptional. I had no problems with the service. The lighting was slightly dark for older eyes.I usually dont get dessert at restaurants, but I would highly recommend getting dessert here. The chocolate lava cake was excellent, with a really delectable chocolatey flavor, and the vanilla ice cream on top is the best I have ever had. The apple tart came with the same ice cream, and had a very good and prominent apple flavor. The desserts were warm and fresh, and almost too fresh because I found an apple seed in my tart, but it was so good that I didnt mind. I would probably go for the apple tart over the lava cake just based on size, but they are both great options.
The food was spectacular, and it had a relaxing ambiance! We got a shrimp cocktail for an appetizer, the shrimp was fresh, and the cocktail sauce was so good that we asked for the recipe. I had the snapper...it was prepared whole and could have had a little more flavor, but it was good. My husband had the prime rib special, and the cut was huge!
Decent bar, bad restaurantWe came for a celebratory birthday dinner but left really disappointed (and $80 lighter) after the meal.We had the grouper sandwich with fries and whole fried snapper with beans and rice. The grouper sandwich was ok but the bread was chewy and gave the whole sandwich a more dense texture than it should have. The fries seemed old, they were chewy, dry, and cold. The snapper was a $32 dish (one of the most expensive on the menu) and my expectations were high. Very little of the snapper’s skin was actually crispy, and some of the meat near the bone was raw. Even more disappointing: the rice and beans were underdone, leaving me with a very hard and crunchy rice. I mentioned the issue with the rice to my waitress (didn’t have the opportunity to mention everything else wrong as she quickly ran off) and was offered just french fries or a salad to replace it; due to the existing issue with the fries I skipped them and went with the side salad. The salad was good but a really lackluster alternative to rice and beans. For drinks we had a Manhattan and a Boujito (bourbon+mojito) were excellent! Great flavors and presentation for both.Lastly, some points removed for the setting. We were sat by a window that had a *lot* of house flies constantly buzzing around it. I was also surprised that they didn’t have a bar upfront and center; for a place called whisky & water I’d expect to see a beautiful bar right at the entrance but it seems like it was tucked away in the back instead - so we never saw it. One last nitpick: put trash cans in the women’s restroom stalls. 😬
Been here four times now and have yet to have a great experience. The facility is nice as is the staff but food has been just average for the price. The trip yesterday for lobster rolls was greeted with “so sorry, we are out of lobster”. We were advised to call before we came to see if they had what was on the menu that day. Huh! Wouldn’t feel good recommending this place and lost all enthusiasm for going back.
I may go back and give them another shot. The good:We called 1 hour ahead and when we arrived we were seated quickly. The host and server were very friendly. The mussels, and burger and fries were very good. The bad:Service was very slow. It seemed like they weren’t ready for this big of a dinner rush.My wife ordered the ribeye medium rare but it arrived raw in the inside. They took it back and cooked it to the correct medium rare.I ordered a molten lava cake. It arrived less than warm and had no liquid chocolate center, very disappointed in that dessert. They offered to remake it but I chose to have it taken off the bill.
This was the greatest experience we have had since being in GA. They went out of their way to serve a disabled veteran and his service dog. They reinstalled some faith in the people of GA, as the prior restaurant refused service to him. The food was beyond fantastic. Perfectly cooked, prepared and served. I wish we lived closer to visit this establishment more often. I really recommend the ribeye steak (beware it is huge and to die for.)
Food was amazing. Portions were a bit small for the price. Although they were very busy the night we went (party of 6) we only saw our waitress maybe 3 times. Even on a busy night I would expect a bit better service. Super cute environment but VERY loud when all tables are packed. Probably wouldn’t go again due to noise and price/portion ratio.
Fantastic spot for a cocktail and light meal.We visited this place twice on our last trip to Blue ridge. They have a great outdoor seating area, perfect for if you have children as its fenced in and they can play without disturbing others. The service is good, the food is very fresh and the cocktails are amazing. Will definitely be back on our next trip.
We had a nice New Years Eve dinner with a few friends and really enjoyed everything. The smoked fish dip with fresh bread and Dijon mustard was great, and the pork shank entree was flavorful and moist. But the cocktails really stood out, especially the Hotel Nacional. Looking forward to come back soon!
Stopped by here late on a Thursday before arriving at our cabin for the weekend. The food was squarely in the serviceable department in terms of flavor, but the staff was perfect. Solid bourbon menu as well with a great back room bar and knowledgeable bartender who shares the passion for brown water.
My husband and I have been in the restaurant industry for years and tend to have high expectations. We love when we can walk away from a meal satisfied with the service and the food, they delivered! Our server Stephanie was amazing! She took great care of us and made great menu suggestions. The food was superb! We had the fish tacos, smash burger, and fried cod. We were happy with all the food we had, sides included. We also met the owners and they were great! Highly recommend this place! Cant wait to go back and try some of their cocktails and dinner menu.
Been here a few times now and will be regulars thanks to good service, food, and drinks. This is probably the only Blue Ridge venue to be able to produce a great Sazerac at a moment’s notice. The crab dip is exceptional as is the fish and frites, the clam chowder and the generous shrimp cocktail is great. If you aren’t in the mood for fish, try the burgers, both are excellent. I haven’t tried the bone in rib-eye yet, but I hope to rectify that soon. Cheers!
Hostess COUGHED into her hand then grabbed menus with that same hand and walked us to our table! 🦠 Didn’t even cough into her elbow nor wear a mask! 🦠 Didn’t wash or sanitize her hands after coughing into them! DISGUSTING!!!!! So we got filthy germ-ridden paper menus with whoknowswhat germs 🦠 of hers on them. She was nice and chatty and told us it was her 2nd day there.Food was mediocre. Old fashioned drink was mediocre. Waitress was nice though. One star for that. Pita chips and smoked dip appetizer tasted like tuna from a can mixed with mayonnaise. Fish tacos weren’t outstanding. If the owner or manager is reading this, teach your hostess to NOT COUGH INTO HER HAND!!
Lobster roll, and Shrimp Al Ajillo: Started off with the Shrimp Al Ajillo as an appetizer, good overall presentation, however the sauce could use a tiny pad of butter to balance the tartness of the sauce, just a tad bit sour, however the shrimp were cooked perfectly. The Lobster roll could use a little work. The bun needs butter and a good toasting. The lobster was lacking the mayo as the binding agent, so it was a little on the dry side, and the lobster took a bit of a beating in the mixing process, so it was kind of like a tuna salad consistency with bigger lobster pieces. Nice atmosphere, great staff, the food was good, and will definitely eat there again. Could have just been a off night! Definitely stop in!
Lovely restaurant with a warm environment . The lighting was soothing and the music was really nice, great ambiance. We started with crab dip, smoked fish dip, mussels, and shrimp al ajillo. All of them were delicious and the crispy pita that came with the dips were really good. For dinner we had the bouillabaisse, snapper, halibut, and chicken. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. I had the bouillabaisse, my first time ordering this dish. It was so good…the broth was divine…flavorful and warm. I got extra bread just to dip in it. Our waitress kept our drinks filled up and checked on us often. We were so full that we didn’t order dessert. Maybe next time!
The service and drinks were great. A perfectly made old fashion for sure, but the food was rather overrated. The burger patty was overdone on the outside and underdone on the inside. The bouillabaisse was good, but kinda of bland. I will give credit that the shrimp were perfect.
Outstanding dinner last night for our party of four. We were super discouraged walking thru town and finding every restaurant closing at 6 on a Thursday evening. But serendipitous for us because we stumbled on Whiskey and Water!!! Our server, Jessica P., was OFF THE CHARTS with cocktail and spirit advice. She knew all the offerings inside and out. We would go back to this establishment strictly to sit at her table. Food was divine. Loved the edamame, fish dip, grilled romaine and crab dip. Smash Burger was excellent. My only dislike and its picky, was the fry, and thats a personal thing. We all love fries differently, I love a more meatier fry, not a shoestring style. Wouldnt let that ever deter my from enjoy this place again. In fact .... Maybe tonight! (Would love some vegan protein choices to go with the edamame and grilled Caesar.)
Had a terrific meals at Whiskey and Water last night. Our server, Matt, was awesome. He was very attentive to our table. The entire staff worked so well together. We had the Miso Ramen, fish tacos, fish dip and clam chowder. All were delicious and well prepared. We also had a variety of cocktails and the Bartenders Whiskey Flight. The Michters was the biggest surprise. It was the only the only whiskey among three bourbons, but won us over.Great job!
Stopped by for lunch as the menu posted outside read very well and friends had recommended the place.Over all the place looks nice especially the bar area. Definitely a place for nice cocktails and bourbon. We ordered, mussels, smoked fish dip, charred edamame, lobster roll, cod and frites, and an order of chicken tenders for the kids.Smoked fish dip was under seasoned but more importantly it was covered with mustard seeds. Way over powering for the dish. Also the dish was marked gluten free but it was served with naan bread so unless I’m mistaken, the dip may have been gluten free but not the entire dish. The mussels themselves were fresh and plump but the sauce lacked flavor and body. It was a muddy mess of liquid that had no flavor what so ever. Dishes like these need to be finished with a lot of butter but this was just off putting. They gave you bread to dip but honestly it wasn’t worth it.The fish and chips were ok. The fish better than the chips which you could tell were not fried fresh or just sat too long. Not hot and very dry. They were on the small side too like a McDonald’s fry. Really needs to be something with a little more homemade appearance. The Tartar sauce was mayonnaise and dill, without a hint of pickle or lemon, again highly under seasoned.I believe the chicken tenders were hand breaded, but over cooked. Kid said he liked them so there ya go.I really only ordered the lobster roll to see why it was $18. Which in todays market, that’s a steal. I think it had about 3oz of lobster meat in it. Again, that’s not too bad for a roll. However, it was served on a regular hotdog bun that was over toasted on the bottom. And the lobster salad laid in a large piece of green leaf lettuce. The lobster salad tasted ok, but they need to lose the lettuce and find either a New England style hotdog bun or a lobster roll bun and toast it correctly on the sides. If all of that happened, then the lobster roll would be the best thing we had.The charred edamame was honestly the most flavorful thing at the table. It was a huge pile of them as well. But after about 10-15, that’s enough of them too.Service was prompt and kind, food came out fairly quick, but there was only 3-4 other tables there.I don’t see a need to return for the food. Maybe stop in for a drink or two but the food needs some work.
One of the best with Gluten Free (allergy) - totally took care without making a deal of it - called ahead to ask if they could do GF without cross contamination and said yep! And the waitress/hostess communicated and looked out so didn’t need to tell the waitress again and was given a GF menu when I got there. The fish tacos plate with FOD (Mahi) was incredible! Vibes were on point for a late, relaxing dinner; perhaps the music could of been turned down a bit. Didn’t partake on this occasion but tasted my buds Manhattan - for sure the best I’ve tasted.Keep doing what you’re doing, W&W!
You can come for their awesome Bourbon selection, but stay for more than a drink and youll get impeccable service (thank you Diane) and delicious, artfully prepared food. I highly recommend the Bourjito, a lovely bourbon twist on the classic Mojito..so good! (husband went with a gin Gimlet) to start. Order the the mussels that come with fresh crusty bread to soak up that yummy whiskey garlic broth. The French Onion soup and New England Clam Chowder were also excellent. Fried Cod for him, fish (Mahi) tacos for me. Also, perfect! For dessert a creamy and very large portion of cheesecake drizzled with caramel. Just a perfect Friday afternoon of great food and awesome service. Loved this place.
I wish I had photos, but dinner didnt last last long enough for photos. Dinner at Whiskey & Water was awesome. I would put it up against any seafood restaraunt iITP ATL. Im not going to go into too detail because you wont read it. Just eat there and you will understand. Also, ask for Mason, he has great suggestions for cocktails and dinner! Enjoy.
Upon recently moving here from FL where I ordered fish all the time at restaurants, I honestly thought I would not find a restaurant that would provide an exceptional fish dinner. Boy was I wrong! I’m extremely happy to say I had a fish dinner tonight (miso black cod) that was the BEST fish I’ve ever had and trust me I ordered a lot of different types of fish in FL! Upon speaking with one of the chefs it’s obvious they take great pride in their profession! Kudos to the chefs at Whiskey Water for providing high quality fish exceptionally well prepared! Plus our waitress was extremely friendly, attentive and provided excellent service. Trust me we will be back!
If we could give this establishment 10 stars we would. The food is outstanding and reminded us of our favorite restaurant in Paris. Tucked away on Depot St , it is well worth a visit. Make reservations in season. Of note one of the few restaurants open on a Monday night in Blue Ridge.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Dined on a weekend and had excellent food and service. Had the crab dip appetizer, bouillabaisse and fish sandwiches. The portions were generous and delicious. Love this new restaurant addition to Blue Ridge. We are part time residents but will be regulars!
We had the pleasure dining here last evening. It was delightful! Our waiter Justin Kennedy was superb!!From the minute we sat down he was at our beckon call. He was professional but playful. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening with friends. The food was amazing as well. The edamame appetizer was delicious. My charred romaine with shrimp was scrumptious. If you have the opportunity to visit this restaurant you won’t be disappointed. Thanks Justin!
This is far better than Black sheep restaurant. My husband and I went for lunch and we loved it that we had to go back for dinner. OMG.... what can I say 3 days later and were still talking about the amazing dinner we had.and our waitress Tanya was the best great personality. She recommended some dishes and glad we went with it the Pork shank and Miso black Cod was to die for the best dinner weve had in a long time. Definitely a must go to place in Blue Ridge
Overall we truly enjoyed our meal. Everything was great as far as the service, (+owner checked on us) the food entrees and the drinks were great. The scallops app was fresh and most of our peel & eat shrimp were tasty except for my ammonia tasting one (3 of us and guess who had the extra). That shrimp was bad... Whew.. had to clean the mouth with some double oaked Woodford...The old brew pub has been upgraded. The exterior dining hasnt been refurbished yet but an associate said its in the works... The interior bar room in the back looked fantastic!I didnt notice but the 2 ladies said they felt our table should be covered by a cloth for more of an upscale feel...Well return. The friendliness, the overall quality of the meal and the owner partner were so nice!
I really hate posting a bad review for a restaurant, especially when so many are struggling with staffing, product shortages, and other COVID related issues. Also, this is just feedback. I hope it will be helpful for this restaurant going forward. From the exterior to the interior, this is a beautiful place. The design and decoration are very well done. They really nailed the aesthetic. The staff was friendly and seated us promptly. The day we went in for lunch, there were maybe 4 tables with guests during that period. The food was very good. The smash burgers were huge. We also enjoyed the beer they had on tap that day.The issue was our waitress. She basically didn’t have a very good attitude. We all have bad days, and I imagine it’s a struggle as a server if that’s the case. When we were seated I noticed it was ice cold inside the dining area. After a bit we decided as a group it would be a lot more comfortable if it was just a few degrees warmer. The next time our waitress came by I mentioned that we thought it was super cold. Before I had a chance to finish my statement and request that she adjust the temp, she abruptly blurted out “they’re not going to turn off the AC”. I wasn’t sure how to respond to that so I just shrank back in my chair and continued to shiver. The waitress then dismissed it altogether and made no effort to adjust the temperature. Finally, when our food was delivered another person asked us if we needed anything and I told her we were freezing. She walked right over and mashed the button on the thermostat. We felt so much better a few minutes later. When it was time to leave we left our payment out to be collected. WE WAITED 25 MINUTES FOR HER TO RETURN. This is an eternity after you’ve eaten and ready to leave. There was one other table left in our dining area. What compelled me to write this review was our waitress’s statement when she returned. She picked up our payment and told us she had been in a shift meeting. I’m not sure what a shift meeting is and I’m not sure that I care.Either this waitress doesn’t understand the basics of waiting tables, or worse, the restaurant doesn’t care about its customers once they stop ordering food. Neither is a good reason for letting your customers twist in the wind for 25 minutes in a seemingly empty dining room.
Known for their seafood and they didnt have any. Something about a truck that didnt come in the day before? Couldnt toss the salad in the baby bowl that was given. Salad shrapnel was everywhere! The pork shank was over cooked and needed a bunch of salt. The staff was super helpful though and apologetic regarding the food shortage. But there was nothing we wanted available and had to go with 3rd and 4th picks. At least mention this at the door or when we get the menus please. My burger was good! Place had a great atmosphere and was clean.
Went to this restaurant last Thursday and had an awful experience. The staff was extremely rude and unaccommodating. I called and tried to make a reservation and was told we dont do those, then was not offered to do call ahead seating. Nothing about their call ahead system works and as someone who worked in a restaurant for several years it seriously needs some work. Why have signs on the table that say reserved when you literally dont do reservations. Customer satisfaction should be a restaurants goal regardless of the situation but they absolutely do not care.
We arrived at 5pm on Friday after calling ahead for seating. There were plenty of seats available when we arrived. Instead of taking a table we sat at the bar. Everyone we came in contact with was friendly. We tried a couple starters. Wed recommend the edamame and definitely encourage that you save the sauce for a bath later. Great stuff! Too much cheese on the crab dip for us, though some might like that. The osso bucco on grits was exceptional. The fish tacos were good (fish of the day was Mahi) but could have used another couple tortillas. Bartender was exceptional. Ordered our own drink not on menu and bartender made it perfectly. By the time we finished the appetizers half the seats were filled. By the end of dinner it appeared all tables taken. We are excited to return and try more soon. Thanks for a great night.
Happy for a new place in Blue Ridge. Only went for lunch. I ordered the pan seared fish sandwich. The bun was slightly stale and cold. The fries were good. Small fish portion. My husband enjoyed his cocktail. Service was prompt and friendly. Will return to see if dinner is better.
A party of 7 of us called ahead twice asking for wait time and asking if they take reservations. They said they do not take reservations but the wait time was 45 minutes at that time. We arrived within 5 minutes of the call, and they asked what name our group was under. Confused, we said they told us on the phone they don’t take reservations. They said “correct, but we take call aheads.” No one offered us a call ahead on either time we called. So they took our name and told us it would be a 30-45 minute wait. Our party chose to go to the bar where we stood and waited. A few of us ordered some drinks, one of which was served in a dirty wine glass with a lipstick mark on it. They changed it out for us no problem. The bartender didn’t seem to know what they had and couldn’t answer any questions about the drink menu. After 45 minutes and a few tables being sat before us that arrived after us, we decided to ask for an updated wait time. We were then told our wait time had been pushed back for all of the call aheads. They told us call aheads were priority and even if they called after we had arrived, they were sat first. They then told us the kitchen closes at 9 and we may not be served food at all. This was told to us at 7pm; we had arrived at 6pm. When asked to speak with a manager, a young woman came out and told us she was not the manager but the highest up working that evening. We told her the situation and Although she apologized, she said there was nothing she could do for us. At that point, we were beyond confused to why there were multiple tables empty that could accommodate 7 of us that we could not be sat at.This restaurant was unprofessional, dirty, and lacked customer service skills. The call ahead system they were using was not a true call ahead system and more of a reservation system that lacked communication.
We loved this place! Sonya was an amazing server. She was very attentive and got me fresh hot French fries within minutes. And the fries are delicious! They are skinny and delicate and very flavorful. We had the fish tacos and fish and frittes.. Both were great. We will be back!
My wife and I stumbled in to this place randomly, because of our first time in Blue Ridge Ga, hungry on a Sunday night. We end up coming back every night of our stay, three nights in a row.First night..French Onion soup, Cod and Frittes,Whiskey Sours and Sazerac.... On point 👍👍Second night.... Mussels, Pork tacos and fish tacos, risotto black beans, whiskey Sours, Manhattan and Old fashioned 👍... Fantastic!..Third night.... Well let you know, tonight is the third night. Wait staff, speed, and attentiveness is outstanding. Keep it up 👍❤️
Great food, service, and menu. Tanya our server was wonderful, knowledgeable and attentive. Fish was cooked perfectly and all dishes on our table showed the love and expertise the chef clearly has. Refreshing new restaurant that has it all, thanks to Tony and Kelli that made sure every table was happy with the food and service. Working owners make all the difference in the food business and it is evident this restaurant has excellent leadership and a rock star team.
The menu is what first attracted us to visit. Everything sounded very good. Typically, you may have a few outstanding dishes in a party of four; however, EVERYTHING we ordered exceeded our expectations! This was further reinforced by the excellent service we had from our server, Mason! He was really great. We had smoked trout dip, shrimp cocktail and blue crab dip for starters… all delicious. For dinner, we ordered the Miso Black Cod, Grouper with Saffron Risotto, the whole Fried Snapper and Mahi Mahi Tacos. Topped it off with a shared key lime pie. We are already looking forward to our next visit!
We were treated pretty poorly by the staff at whiskey and water … told noPhone reservations. We called two times and were never told we could give our name for callAhead. We get to restaurant and give our name and told 45 mins … after 45 mins we were toldWe may not get a table and be seated bc they were taking call ins and the staff then said we close at 9 pm. It was just after 6 pm. We never could talk to a manager. Instead we were treated unapologetically and unprofessionally by the staff and like annoying costumers simply because we wanted a table after waiting 45 minutes!! Now we are being called karens online by the staff. This is so unacceptable! This isn’t howRestaurants and businesses are ran where we are from. Please do not waste your time going in this restaurant. They do not treat their costumers with any sort of respect. Poorly ran!
This place is the real deal….Been visiting Blue Ridge for 10 years….had a lot of favorite restaurants but this one takes the cake….my wife’s chicken skillet was absolutely second to none. Almost started not to come here because I’m a huge skeptic….but this place is our favorite from here on out!!!!!
My only regret at Whiskey and Water is that we didn’t visit sooner. They have curated excellent vibe. The drink menu is unique yet classic. Their menu brings an authentic coastal flavor to our mountain town with a fresh style we have not seen anywhere nearby. The Bourjito was surprisingly incredible. A bourbon backed mojito - unique. My husband enjoyed his Manhattan - classic. We first tried the charred edamame. I love edamame and W&W crushed it on the perfect level of char. 10/10We got exotic with the team and jumped for the full snapper. It did not disappoint - and exactly as described, was indeed whole. We are excited to see how they utilize the outdoor space. The bar is super cozy.A+
Ordered halibut. Most expensive dish on the menu. Over cooked by 5-8 minutes and raw on the inside. My guess is it was cooked frozen. This is really just a burger joint posing as a restaurant. It’s ashamed they call themselves a seafood restaurant and have no clue how to cook fish. If you eat here just stick with the burgers. Hard to screw that up.
Very disappointed.... whiskey and water came recommended by several neighbors and a Blue Ridge Facebook website that related that they loved dogs and they were dog friendly. Not true, showed up the other day around 3 and was told that dogs were not allowed, only service animals. When asked about the afore mentioned review {being dog friendly) the hostess and two other employees looked at us like a deer in the headlights.
Let’s start by saying this the food is AMAZING they have a great selection of bourbon the service was horrible and server ignored us the entire time my drink had hair in it and we never got our appetizer the server was nonchalant about both situations but Andy made it right I’m giving five stars because the food and owner were amazing.

2022-04-09Very classy Whiskey bar, and they arent stingy on their water either. :)Beautiful bar, with an attached restaurant. I did not try any of the food, but from my observations, most of the other customers seemed very pleased.I enjoyed my experience, I would gladly get a cocktail again here after a nice day on the trails. The servers all seemed happy, and in good spirits. Our bartender, Matt, was also good company.Lots of great whiskey and Bourbon selections.

2022-06-25It was good. Just missing that little bit extra to be 5 stars. The steak was very good, however it comes covered in the same gravy that they put on the mashed potatoes. Im not a fan of that. I want to taste the steak. My fiance got the lobster macaroni dish. It was amazing. Plus, they have my favorite wine: Caymus. It was a little too warm for my liking, but the place was packed and it was a very hot day. Bump the AC down a few degrees, please. Oh, and fix the super wobbly table in your bar area. All-in-all, I would definitely come again.

2022-04-16A best of Blue Ridge! This place took me by surprise from the moment we walked in. Very casual walking in but the staff was the epitome of professional and class.Once seated, we knew we chose correctly. Our waiter, Daniel, walked up and really set the tone. Knew everything about the menu and drink options to impressive detail. This man will walk you through every flavor profile available. In the off chance there is something he’s not ready for, he goes above and beyond to ensure you have all you desire. From the impressive decor, and the shocking high quality apps, to the show stopping specials and main courses this place never once disappointed. I walked out wishing I had more room so I never had to pick just one entrée.To speak volumes of the business, the manager, Caroline I believe, was leading her team while also picking up oyster shucking duties. Leading from the front is the sign of a continuously successful business. Not to mention, they were fresh and delicious.(Missed pics of my main course because I was too excited ate it too quick!)Not only do I recommend Whiskey & Water, I’m counting down the time until my next trip.

2022-07-12Jess, the bartender, is very kind, knowledgeable and offered great advice on plates to choose. We enjoyed the smoked fish dip, French onion soup, lobster roll & bouillabase. All were excellent. Thanks for a great time! Definitely will be back

2021-12-31Superb service from the Hostess Morgan to the waiter and everyone behind the scene. Thank you for a pleasant and memorable NYE 2021. Also had the Scallop, fish dip, clam and mussel appetizers. All the meals came out delicious and were served promptly.

2022-02-19My new favorite restaurant in Blue Ridge! I started with the shrimp al ajillo. It has a bright cirtus flavor and a broth that youll want to drink. Ask for a chunk of their crusty bread to stop it up. Youll thank me later. My husband had the shrimp cocktail, and the herb butter it comes with gives it a more complex flavor than I expected. We both had the shrimp tacos as our main dish. The fish of the day was Mahi Mahi, and it paired perfectly with the mango pico de gallo. The from scratch masa tortillas put these over the top. So good! The biggest surprise of the meal for me was the Caribbean beans and rice. They start herby and savory and finish spicy. The gimlet was also delightful. Highly recommend. Also should out to Diane, our server, who provide great service & gave us great recommendations for lunch.

2022-05-20Whiskey & Water has a rustic yet refined appeal. I was alone and sat at the bar. Receiving my place setting, napkins and menu seemed like it was a presentation. Very professional staff here. I had the oysters. Pretty good but they werent blue point. I was very happy horseradish was served with it and the cocktail sauce was yummy. The Black Cod was my main dish and I was not disappointed. The miso broth was delicious and the Cod perfectly cooked. The rustic apple tart was yummy but I think the tart could have been warmer. Im not a whiskey drinker but come here for it. They have a varied selection. Theres a large selection of seafood choices so Ill be back!

2022-05-28Nice, cozy atmosphere with a fancy vibe to it. Dinner was amazing. Dessert wasGood. Cocktails were alright. Sort of expected that to be more a part of the experience since the name and all. Staff was friendly but seemed to be struggling with turnover- be patient and kind with the servers!

2022-04-16We had “linner” today and the food and service were excellent. My clam chowder was top notch. I had the fish tacos (excellent) and my husband had the smash burger (also excellent.) Our service Daniel was attentive without hovering. I appreciate his suggestion of the clam chowder. I will definitely be back and am telling all my friends about the great food and service.4/15 edit: ate dinner with 3 friends. Appetizers were spot on delicious (had the muscles and edamame; drink were amazing. Halibut was perfect. 2 in my group had the special and it was terrific. A real gem in Blue Ridge.

2021-10-09Stopped in Whiskey and Waters Seafood and Bourbon Bar in Blue Ridge for lunch. The menu sounded awesome and it was. My husband had the Cod Fish and Fritters and a chocolate flavored beer on tap and I had the Dayboat Grouper Sandwich. Both dishes were fresh and very tasty. Nice comfortable atmosphere. Holly was our server and she was excellent. Thanks Holly. We are definitely coming back for dinner.
