Awesome service & meats!! I ordered a lot, and buy a beef tenderloin and have them trim it and grind the trimmings to mix with the ground sirloin for steak burgers. Tasty 👍👍

We have been going to Wilkes since they opened and cant say enough good about them!Excellent variety of fresh meat and chicken that is always good. The grocery market is well stocked with many of the brands that we prefer.If you catch them early enough in the day, you might be lucky enough to get some already cooked ribs ready to take home for tonights dinner! Yummy!Everyone is very courteous, respectful and helpful. We are always referred to as sir or maam and thanked for our business!

This is what a small town meat market is supposed to be! LOVE this place! The staff couldnt be any better! I feel at home every time I walk in the door. Tried the bacon wrapped filet on recommendation from the gentleman behind the counter and couldnt have been more impressed! Two 1.25 inch thick filets for 21$ and they were amazing on the grill. Also snagged some frozen shrimp which were great after a quick Sautee! The other meat is a little more expensive but once you see the quality, youll understand why! Definitely my go to when Im ready to fire up the smoker or grill!
I love going to this meat store! The service is top notch! There are beautiful cases of meats and seafoods. We bought gulf shrimp, Atlantic salmon, and smoked BBQ ribs. I made some delicious coconut shrimp. The shrimp was excellent, large, and very fresh. The salmon very fresh and thick. The BBQ ribs were also excellent. The meat is obviously better cuts and quality than local grocery stores. The only problem is we dont live close enough to go more often! It is worth the trip!.
The people that worked there very knowledgeable about what they do nice kind and help with everything I needed. The meat I bought was a one quality they told me how to cook it right and get the best flavor Ill keep on going back

Good meat. But they are crooks. They will over charge you just because they can. And they will tell you if you dont like it you can go somewhere else. And guess what I am cause there are plenty other good butcher shops around that are not crooks.
Ive noticed I get charged different prices for the same breakfast. Today was over $11 for 2 gravy biscuits, one side of eggs and a piece of ham. Then add another $1.10 service charge so total 12.43 for 2 biscuits, eggs and a small piece of ham??? And been charged around $7. Sorry but the prices are ridiculous.

This place has the best fried chicken in the state. I come here all the time for lunch. Inexpensive and better than anything you can get anywhere else. Everything is really clean and nice and so are the people.
They got plenty of meat but not a huge selection of it.Could be a little better with the coupons if you spend a certain amount like Fergusons meat market does.
Best breakfast sausage and bacon I ever had. Their meat selection is fantastic. I had their T-bone steak and it was delicious. Great and friendly staff all the time. Great home-cooked lunch and breakfast.
Lunch was just ok. The wings were good. However, its very pricey. Six wings and 2 sides and bread was $9.99. I chose hush puppies and they were small dense balls. Mac and cheese and grits had zero flavor.
Just go there. Killer lunches, real southern food with flavor. Fried pork chops are a favorite as is the catfish on Friday. And they have a nice little market. Love this place.
Best meat market I have ever been to.
So glad this little place came into our town. Its a little grocery store with all your basic needs from milk (Mayfield!!) and cereal,charcoal,ice cream,drinks,veggies,fruit and so on. They have a great selection of meat and you can tell it is fresh. I will for sure be a repeat customer!

Love the quality here. Grocery store cant even compare. It can be a bit pricey, but my family would MUCH rather have a smaller delicious steak than a larger disappointing one. Ive tried many of their products over the years and never been let down!
Thank you everyone at Wilkes in Ball Ground!! I bought a fresh 10 lb. turkey for Thanksgiving. I brined it, injected it, rubbed it, and deep fried it. It was voted best turkey we have ever had by my family! Thank you for making my Thanksgiving dinner a big success!! 1st time in at this new location. The folks were just great. The choices were more that I could take in 🤣. We picked up a few items to try out and then well go back for freezing stock. Im especially excited about Ribeyes, Bacon, Pork Belly, and Brisket packers. Hope they get in Beef plate style ribs. Thanks guys, see yall soon.
I love the staff , the option of eating on site . Fresh food freshly cooked daily. We had lunch for two. Bought bacon, cube steaks , stuffed jalapenos and stuffed mushrooms, strips for fajitas. All for 30.00 . I bought all my Christmas and New Years food from here. Thanks .
Wilkes has just opened in Ball Ground, Georgia. I have been in twice. They have lunch! Hot sandwiches and also meals. I appreciated the meals I got. One cube steak, 1 fried chicken. The meats were excellent! I really didnt like the mashed potatoes, they were instant. The carrots and fried okra were great! Its so nice to have a small grocery store in that location!

2022-01-06Wilkes Meat Market of Ball Ground is absolutely amazing. The experience you receive is hands down different than anywhere I have ever been. The owner Hunter and his staff go above and beyond to make sure you feel welcomed, that your business is appreciated and like part of the family. Their meat selection is amazing and seeing their consistent breakfast and lunch crowds proves their food is worth it. Their scratch made breakfast is honestly my favorite. Their grab-n-go or buffet lunch never disappoints either. If you haven’t made the trip - I can promise it’s more than worth it- if you stop in tell them Ashley recommended ya to them 🥩 😍

2022-01-12My breakfast featuring their bacon and pimento cheese was phenomenal!! Bacon is very fresh and nice quality that doesn’t compare to what is sold at Publix or any grocery store. Great job with the pimento cheese, too! Very flavorful and it spread easy on my toast. Thank you!!

2020-09-21UPDATE: on our first visit we bought a cut of London Broil. We enjoyed it so much we went back and got another one. Wilkes Meat Market is great and was much needed in Ball Ground.Stopped in today for our first time, very impressed! The meat section was great, plus a well stocked market! We will definitely be shopping there a lot!
