I went to another Dr. Before going to Dr. Ashford. I was told my shoulder has arthritis. The Dr didnt x-ray anything. He didnt even touch my shoulder. I knew I did not have arthritis in it. It hurts way to much and he wouldnt look at my hand I need to reschedule for another office visit. Not going to happen there, So I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Ashford.I explained what was bothing me in my right shoulder and my right hand.He x-rayed my shoulder and hand. No... I do not have any arthritis. I have a torn rotator cuff in my shoulder and carpal tunnel in my hand. He scheduled me for Physical therapy and a 6 week check up. He said well revisit my shoulder and hand then and take it from there. I am so happy I decided to get a second opinion.Update:. I had carpel tunnel surgery in May 2022 very satisfied with the relief of pain. During my recovery I broke my foot. Dr Ashford and Jessie were great at getting me in immediately, checking out my foot and hand and getting me treated properly.I would definitely recommend Ashford Orthopedics in Athens. Dr. Ashford and his team are awesome. His staff 8s very nice. They always call back and check on me. Im very happy with them.Id definitely recommend Dr. Ashford for the proper diagnosis. You will NOT get a better Dr.

Had a solid first appointment with Ashford Orthopedics. Arrived a few minutes early and was seen immediately with no waiting. The PA that met with me was knowledgable and professional. Was easily able to get an apointment here which is very different from my experience at Athens Ortho.
Dr. Ashford has been absolutely awesome for us! I am a 67 year old male, and went recently to the AOC emergency clinic off King Ave with knee trouble. I was exrayed, told I had arthritis!I was referred by my FNP to Dr. Ashford, who did an MRI and found a miniscus tear, sprained ligaments and no cartilage! Today I am two days after R Knee replacement done with the Robotics procedure!Already done one day of PT! My pain has been minimal, controlled by meds!!! I am on a walker, but honestly don’t feel like I have to use it!Dr. Ashford and his staff are awesome and I would be glad to share that with anybody! At 71 years young, I had a massive shoulder(3 tendons) repair and a long bicep tendon repair with arthritis and a big bone spur. Dr. Ashford did an amazing job along with his team in fixing me so that I can go back to growing fruits and vegetables. His communication about the procedure and recovery was excellent and he and his Pa answered all of my questions and then some that I had not thought of.

I never look forward going to the doctor...However, from the minute I walked through the door I felt at ease. From the gals at the front desk to the sweet girl in X-ray. My doctor was kind & very informative. Being in the healthcare field this day & age I know how busy we can get & it can result in unhappy patients. I truly enjoyed my visit!! Never once did I feel like just another rush in rush out, quick, not really listening to me patient. It was exceptional!! Thank you to all from the bottom of my heart.

Dr. Ashford spent a great deal of time in the exam room with me. He was concerned not only the issue I am dealing with, but with the amount of pain I am experiencing. I was pleasantly surprised at my first visit with this new orthopedic doctors referral. This office personnel were all very gracious and courteous. I felt very comfortable with the friendly atmosphere there. Most of all Dr William Ashford was very professional, explained in detail what he needed to prescribe for what I needed for my knee and ended on a very positive. Dr.Ashford is great. He knew exactly what I was describing and doesn’t request unnecessary extras. Just confirms his diagnosis and gives you a good treatment plan. I have been to other orthopedic doctors in Athens but I think I finally found my go to. Highly recommend!

I was very impressed. My apppointment started on time @ 9:15; x-rays were done efficiently & quickly. I then waited less than 5 minutes for Dr. Ashford to come into the examining room. He is outgoing & friendly, very easy to talk to, and both he and the nurse who followed up were scrupulous in listening to what I said, and never seemed hurried or anxious. Dr. Ashford administered a cortisone injection into the deltoid muscle of my right shoulder, and did it with great skill; it hardly hurt at all. He had clearly read my chart closely (I had submitted it online 48 hours earlier, which I assume made that easier for him), asked appropriate questions and made entirely sensible recommendations. I am very pleased that I was able to get an appointment, and I shall remain a patient as long as hell have me (already set my return appointment for early October).
Dr. Ashford and his staff were amazing with my 4 yr old son. We always felt taken care of and appreciated. We will only use them for our orthopedic needs. We really loved every experience with their practice.
My husband is a new patient and is amazed that in just two visits all the hip pain is gone, arthritis pain is extremely better and some pain gone!!! My husband has suffered for years with cronic pain in hips,lower back,groin area,legs and thumb/finger to where he was having hard time standing at work,trying to hold instruments,everyday jobs,almost impossible to do! I was very pleased with Dr ASHFORD and his entire staff. Dr ASHFORD took time to really understand the problems I am experiencing in my knee. He took time to address my concerns. And I was pleasantly surprised at the small amount of pain when he injected my knee.Overall, the facility was warm, welcoming and extremely clean.Definitely would recommend Dr ASHFORD !

I met with Dr. Ashford’s PA, Jesse. Jesse listened, he was polite, funny, and made me feel very comfortable. The team as always were very polite, attentive, and full of smiles! As crazy as this may sound, I can’t wait to see them again!

Made the appointment online on Sunday evening and had an appointment at 8:30 am on Monday. They were quick and efficient. Dr. Ashford took time to explain what my pain was from and treatment options. He was very kind and didnt waste my money doing unneeded scans.

My husband was in a serious motorcycle accident out of state and had 2 ortho surgeries. We needed to find a local physician to remove pins from his thumb. Dr Ashford and his outstanding staff shout out to Jessica worked with his and his out of state physician to get all the information he needed to remove the pins and save us an 1100 mile round trip. Dr. Ashford saved me. For years I had been going to physical therapy for my back, knees, neck, shoulder, and wrists. My wrists hurt so bad that I thought I needed surgery on them. I rested them for months to try and heal them to no avail and I simply felt crippled. I saw Dr. Ashford to do surgery on my wrists and he told me to go see a rheumatologist. I didnt even know what a rheumatologist was. It turns out I had an autoimmune disease that was causing my own body to attack all my joints. Dr. Ashford could have just wasted my time and money but he didnt he did the right thing. I had seen countless doctors before this who did not mention anything about a rheumatologist for years, not even a simple blood test. They failed me, Dr. Ashford didnt. Im so so much better now, and I can actually live my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Dr. Ashford. Giving you a 5 star review is nothing. You turned my life around with that one visit.
Dr Ashford is an orthopedic surgeon that removed a benign tumor on my finger. He was very patient on my initial appointment to assess the bump, and discussed all the various options. He was thorough and quickly set up a surgery date when I chose surgery. The surgery went well and the cyst was sent to pathology for identification verification, at which point it was identified as a tumor.What I specifically liked about Dr Ashford and his office staff was their make the whole process go smoothly from getting covid tested, to electronically filling out the questionnaire for the surgery center and organizing the after care.Due to my leaving town shortly after the surgery due to my work, Dr. Ashford agreed to have me send pictures of my incision throughout the healing process and kept in close contact via his cell phone. My incision is resolving nicely but slowly and couldnt be happier to have had Dr. Ashford as my surgeon. I highly recommend him as he exhibited genuine concern for my recovery.

This was my first visit to AOS. Dr. Ashford was patient and very kind listening to my history and presenting problems and quickly ordered the X rays I needed. He was able to diagnose my problem and suggest a treatment plan. The steroid shot he gave me helped immediately and it was painless! I highly recommend Dr. Ashford for orthopedic care!
He takes time to genuinely listen to your issues & concerns. He also offered me 3 solutions to problem that didn’t involve surgery. I like that he uses surgery as a last resort instead of the first.
I have been having hip pain for 2 weeks. Dr Ashford successfully treated my trigger finger in2 minutes weeks ago. So naturally I would see him for the hip pain. I simply pulled up his website booked appointment on line and he saw me the next day. Check in smooth staff friendly and I felt very comfortable. He took a detailed history and performed a thorough physical exam. He then explained in detail my options and my problem in simple terms. Also m X-ray tech was very nice as well. Very patient. Dr. Ashford is a young man who understands old world patient care. What happened to the doctors who see you as a person and not just a bank account? Idk, but Dr. Ashford is one of those! He cares, he wants to heal you. Care like that will earn him more loyalty than any other service he does. Having a caring staff is also an excellent bonus. I like that this doctor is young, so we can keep him around for many many years. I recommend him to any looking for an orthopedic doctor. But maybe I wont so I can keep him to myself. Good doctors are hard to come by.

I was so impressed with Ashford Ortho! I felt like I have been going there for years. I walked in and I didn’t even have to tell them my name! They were so friendly! Then I met Dr. Ashford. First off he apologized for running a tiny bit behind( I didn’t even notice because I never had to sit anywhere longer than 3/4 minutes)! And the reason didnt have anything to do with his practice! I felt like he really listened and understood what I was talking about. He really cared about getting to the bottom of why I have been in pain for so long. He discovered something that another facility I have paid hundreds of dollars to didn’t even take the time to see. I feet so much better when I left because we had a plan to do something about my pain! Not shove me in a boot for 6 weeks hoping it was better. I am so impressed and happy that I decided to go here! I was impressed by the concerns for me and my acutely swollen elbow with severely decreased function. The history and physical examinations were very thorough and focused. Results were well explained with options for treatment with likely results. Being 77, I treasure the ability to have an active outdoor lifestyle.

2022-08-12This is very special practice with truly amazing and caring staff and doctors. Dr Ashford was able to diagnose a chronic condition of mine that numerous other doctors could not. He took the time to listen to me and was genuine in his concern for my well being. This is the best experience I have ever had at a clinic! I am so grateful to them!

2022-05-26As i headed into my appointment today i was very anxious. My injury is extensive and goes back many years. I have never been treated with more compassion and sincere care than by Dr. Ashford and his staff. I left with a clear vision on my next step with the confidence that i will finally have a solution and that Dr. Ashford will be by my side through the entire process. Words cannot express what a true blessing my visit was today. I was able to park very close to the entrance, waited less than five minutes and never felt rushed. Dr. Ashford is not only knowledgeable and professional, but able to communicate complicated information in an effective way. I am so thankful to have found this level of care.

2022-06-01Dr Ashford and his entire team are a pleasure. Many other practices are rushing you through and you feel you are just a number, not at Ashford Orthopedic! Dr Ashford takes time to get to know his patients and truly listens to problems to develop a treatment plan that is best for that patient. Dr Ashford has treated 3 generations of my family; my retired parents, my husband, me and my young children. Jessica and his staff are also wonderful!

2022-07-25Dr. Ashford listened to me and made me feel like I was not being rushed.Dr. Ashford was all about the least invasive treatment to begin with. Cortisone shot to begin with and rest and some physical therapy to start out with. Said that surgery, if needed, would be way down the line. But Dr. Ashford seemed to think that surgery would not even be in the picture.Staff was super nice. Dr. Ashford was again awesome to talk to and listen to. GREAT experience.

2022-05-27I had a complete knee replacement in 2019. I came out worse than before I went in for surgery. I keep going back to the same doctor that did the surgery and he never went beyond just an xray 3 weeks in a row. So I went to Dr. William Ashford, and he found my problem in May 2022, and is sending me to a surgeon that does do over knee replacement. I appreciate his time and compassion, but most of all his honesty telling me he knows of doctors that are more experienced in redos.That meant more to me, that he would be that honest. His office staff are so kind and compassionate, I thank them as well.Dr. William your my guy 🙂 thank you.

2022-07-09All office personnel were very friendly and helpful promoting a comfortable environment. The Doctor himself was very friendly and spoke directly so as to understand. He was professional and kind.
