Pool was closed (okay because it is still technically winter), the hot tub was closed indefinitely, the room was humid even with AC on, the sheets never felt clean, the hotel is very old. The only thing I enjoyed was that the bathroom seemed clean and breakfast was available. Will not be going back.
Staff were helpful, free breakfast was adequate, rooms were well kept and big. Only negative is that my room had a musty smell as though it had been smoked in or water damaged or something. Also the Wi-Fi was not very strong in my area of the hotel, had trouble working on my computer in the evening though I was able to stream TV/movies on my phone just fine.
I have visited this Hotel many of times with great experiences but this time no one mentioned at the time of booking the room that the entire Hotel was undergoing a major renovation. This made for a terrible stay. The rooms were dirty and the construction site was unkept. I recommend the hotel should have closed until the renovations were complete.
A decent hotel. There are some obvious signs of age. My remote didnt have a back over the battery but a piece of tape. Lol Its pretty clean. Staff is processional, but I wouldnt call them overtly friendly. If youre looking for luxury , this isnt the place, but a clean place to stay for work, itll do.
Couldt pay me to stay here againHonestly top five worst hotels I have stayed in in my life, and I have stayed in a lot of places. I was there 17 days, during that time there was no variety what so ever in what the served for breakfast. Day two at 5:40AM the smoke detectors in more started going off repeatedly, I called the front desk and the receptionist came up and snatched the smoke eetors out if the ceiling. I ended up not having smoke detectors for 5 days although I stopped by the front desk on my way to work each day and on my way in from work. No matter who I told at the desk they responded as if it were a surprise to them and acted as if there was nothing they could do although at least two people i told twice....About a week into my stay, I came in from work and my towel rack was hanging over the toilet and and my fresh towels were sitting on the sink. I assume when housekeeping put my new towels up there it broke and they left it there (I have pictures) it was left this way for two days. The shower curtain bolts were loose so the curtain would not stay closed on either end so my showers were always breezy. Several times my keys didnt work had go have new keys made. My co-worker across the hall got locked out of his room for hours because the batteries in his card reader died. After that was fixed the inside handle of his room door fell off, Im almost certain it was never fixed.Pool didnt work, hot tub didnt work. Heating unit in room had two working temperatures extremely hot and freezing cold. I never received anything about my Wyndham rewards that I signed up for but yet I received an email survey addressing me by the wrong name (no idea who trey is, probably an employee who took my points) if it were not for working 13 hour days for the 17 days I was there and the room being paid for by my employer I would have switched hotels. This survey comment is also going to Google. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.Housekeeping did a poor job at best with cleaning the room, they dont change the sheets when they are supposed to, some days the restock your tea and coffee some days they dont when they do you may not get cups or spoons. Some days my toilet wasnt clean, this place is ridiculously bad and dirty. Really surprised Wyndham put their name on it.
Checked in on 7/15/19 at 5 pm. The receptionist must of had a bad day. She was very disconnected and not very friendly. I asked for a room on the quiet side of the building. I entered the room and looked out the window at the freeway. I went back the receptionist and explained that the quiet side would be the side without the freewayoutside the window. She gave me a room in the other side. The key would not work but after 10 tumes it did the trick. The room smelled like someone had been having a party the night before. I decided to suck it up and live with it because I am sure my request for a room change would not have been received well. The bed was comfortable and I had a good nights sleep until 5 am when the room next doors alarm went off and kept on going off for the next 45 min. I called the front desk and asked them to call the room and see if they could turn off their Alam in which he was sleeping though for 45minn. They did not so I got dressed and left my room to ask in person for helo, but on my way, I banged on the door. They woke and turned off their alarm. When I returned to my room my key would now work. Maybe I should have expected that. I know they are remodeling but I would stay away from this place until they are finished.and get some better help. Also should note that I booked through Hotel Tonight so I suppose you get what you pay for.
Rooms were decent. They do need to update some things. Like their furniture in the bedroom. You can tell that theyve been there for while. The should also get better tv provider. Everytime you flip to a channel it tells you that you dont have it. Customer service was good.
The hotel is old and in desperate need of updating. Holes in the wall, outdated features, no water pressure, and the free wifi is a joke. Breakfast in the morning is ok for free, but no variety and rarely do they have everything set up in the morning or anything besides scrambled eggs. The rooms although smell disinfected, you can tell there is no attention to detail with stains on the wall and fridge. #stayelsewhere
Please never never stay here. Had to change rooms twice. First one smelled of smoke and my asthmatic son could not breathe!! Second room had roaches crawling on the ceiling and baseboard. Terrible customer service too!! Tried to speak with management to get some type of compensation for our problems but I was given the runaround every time. Floor was also collapsing in corner by window. Unsafe and unclean hotel... we could not wait to get out of this hellhole!!!🤬😡
Beds are comfortable A+ I can give them that. Here is the NEGATIVE - There were gritty sandy pieces on tub as you step in . Maybe trying to remove slip adhesive it made it gritty and dirty .....Ring in toilet maybe NO cleaning. makes you wonder if sanitized for next guest..... ...I worked for Hilton (Charleston S C) IN PAST .....Desk clerks should always smile be friendly and helpful we got looks of the opposite they did not want to be there .. ....Maybe we were a burden to them. NOT my chose of Hotel .. Ill give a 1 star for this stay.....
This should be called the Green Lagoon. The pool is awful and the hot tub is no better. The gym has 3 pieces of equipment. The skip mill (treadmill) doesn’t work worth anything, the knee replacement (eliptical) needs to be retired, the bike was deceit enough to use. Oh the 3 set of free weights. The staff is very unfriendly! The breakfast was nonexistent a cockpot half full of lumpy grits, no options on meat choices. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Oh yes my room was okay. Next time I’ll stay in a homeless shelter cause why pay for this!
Clean, good breakfast, plenty parking, large beds with MANY pillow options. Fast wifi. I didnt use the pool, jacuzzi or gym, but they looked clean and modern. This hotel has the highway right behind it, so you may want to request a room on the non-highway side for a quieter night.
I have stayed here for two weeks now. Within the first few nights the internet went out. I checked the speeds and they were literally below dial up speed. I have been told time and time again that it would be fixed as I have work that I have to do for my office back home. Today I was even given a time that it would be fixed, which it was not. Each time I have been lied to and treated as if this issue wasnt the hotels problem and that I was rude for even asking about it. Do not stay here. My company never will again.
Stayed at the Wingate to work overnight, so I was actually sleeping during the day. Rooms are very dark with the shades drawn which is perfect. Rooms are nice and clean. My complaints would be that the pillows are very thick, if youre into that then youll sleep fine, but if not then you may have trouble.
We set up our hotel on December 22nd and received confirmation of this. Today after driving for 9 hours we showed up at 5:15 and were hoping to check in, get our suitcases to our room, unpack and rest for about an hour before we decide where we want to grab something to eat. Instead we were told that our room wouldnt be ready for 20-30 minutes because of some Marathon that was running late. (Our room was supposed to be available anytime after 3pm). Instead we had to wait, and Im sorry if anyone thinks that this is a tiny little inconvenience, it isnt! We are paying for our room from 3pm today till 11am tomorrow. The bathroom is in pretty bad condition too; both water faucet handles are really loose, the caulk around the tub is splitting and the towel rack is about to fall off the wall.
If I could give negative stars I absolutely would! My fiance and I were in town for a hunting trip and have stayed at this hotel before. Its close to where we were hunting so despite the negative reviews, lack of cleanliness and complete lack of updating, we gave it a shot. We got in pretty late, got a late checkout and packed our bags. Now, a week later, I notice that theyve added a $200 charge to my card which was quite obviously a mistake considering theyd already charged me for the room.I call, speak to the girl at the front desk, she puts me on hold for 7 minutes, only to come back and tell me that it was a smoking charge. Well, we dont smoke so thats not quite possible, is it? She says they have proof and I ask to speak to the GM (Mrs. Wright) who is apparently in a meeting. After 45 minutes, we speak to Mrs. Wright who proceeds to tell us that the charge was for drug paraphernalia!!! Unbelievable!!! She then informed us that she found a white powdery substance on the vanity (WHERE I DID MY MAKEUP) and that we should be glad that she didnt call the cops and only charged us the smoking fee instead. At our outrage, she says that we can refute the charges and let our banks deal with it.NEVER IN MY LIFE have I been so offended and so deeply disrespected by an establishment. DO NOT stay at this hotel! It is absolute garbage! Go to the Hampton Inn up the road. Thats where well be staying from now on.
All in all, not a bad place to stay. Id stay here again. Stayed here one night on business after Christmas. Staff is friendly, rooms are large with high ceilings and they accept Corporate Lodging without requiring a secondary credit card. No bed bugs as far as I could tell. I asked for a single king and got put into a double queen. The mattres was entirly too firm and I could not get comfortable. The bathroom was small with a small shower. Water pressure was good with a multi beam shower head. Water temp was odd, warm at full open, then cooled off to luke warm and then heated up to scolding. There was a crack between the floor and tub under which some form of insect scurried as I layed down a bath mat. The hot breakfast left something to be desired. The biscuits werent fresh, no sausage or beacon offered and the milk was not properly chilled. As I said, Id stay here again but will probably try another hotel on my next trip to Albany.
I would not recommend paying $118 to stay at Windham in Albany GA. More like a $37.99 motel.. On monday April 10 2017 I was looking forward to my stay.. My room was paid for by friends. When we got there they checked us in and we all dropped our luggage off and went straight to dinner. I noticed the carpet in the hallway on the second floor was water stained and the floor was sinking in spots.. Looks like it was a bad water leak recently. It was late when we got back. I went to take a shower and noticed a wadded up wet dirty towel in the corner of my bathroom.. Mold in the shower caulking.. Pubic hair in the soap dish..nasty.Gross. I went to call the front desk and the phone was dead. Im too tired to deal with this. I goto bed.9 am I goto the front desk and ask to speak to a manager.. They wont be in til 1pm..how convenient..2 hours after checkout.
Would have given them a better score. I am a windham member. I was quoted one thing over the phone but a higher price was drafted from my account. Remote to the television stopped working. The ice machine on the 2nd floor was not working. We only stayed one night. So everything else was barable.
Ok hotel room for the price. It sits directly behind Longhorns Steakhouse. So it may be a little difficult to find at first. However the front desk clerk was nice and courteous. The price of the room was decent for what it was. And you dont have to drive to get anything to eat. In walking distance there is the Longhorns, KFC, Zaxbys, Tokyo Japanese restaurant, Arbys, Chick-fil-A, a Publix, Target and other places to go.
When i tell you i will never go back there again believe me. They were under construction for one thing and should have been close, they only had cereal for breakfast, the air conditioner was not working properly. The lady at the front desk was not friendly. And the only reason I kept my reservation was because they would not refund me my money back.but i promise you that i will not be back.
Once we were able to check in things have been great. I came to Albany, Georgia for my Grandmothers funeral with my wife and young children (5 and 3). We drove 5 and a half hours from 5 AM straight to the funeral home to make final arrangements. Needless to say we were exhausted, especially the kids. We called to ask about checking in early and were told no so we went to lunch. Check in at 3, lunch over at 230 so we called again and were again told no. So with a sleeping 3 years old we were forced to drive around in a thunderstorm for a half hour. Calling corporate for the one issue but otherwise fine.
My stay was short and I had a very bad experience. I made the 2 room reservation at Whyndham and I thought. I received good attention after having paid and without any convincing explanation they used my debit card. This product was canceled by the bank for the fraud. After talking to the manager, they never made a discount promised by the entity due to bad service. cleaning in the habt.todo this generates that there is no supervision. part of the admon.sali very disappointed. I do not recommend it.

2022-01-12The room is well maintained and the staff is very helpful and pleasant. I was surprised that the flag pole out front does not have a flag raised. Overall a good place to stay.

2018-11-04My room was nice and clean. The remote to the tv in my room was covered in tape because the back was missing. The pool was closed for the season. It didnt appear to be damaged by the hurricane from the previous week. The fitness was really small only had mismatched dumbbells. Overall my stay was pleasant because I didnt linger at the hotel. If had nothing else to do it would have been a little boring.

2018-10-21This was a mistake. The room had a strong deodorizer smell, the bathtub is not flat on the bottom, but more like a trough. Very difficult to stand up in securely. I truly think that we would have had just as good accommodations at a Motel 6, and saved $50.00. We will not be back.

2019-09-19This hotel is undergoing a major renovation as of September 2019. Lobby is a mess but this is understandable because of the ongoing renovation and staff is very pleasant. My room was very outdated and dingy. I assume they will also be renovated. The room wasn’t dirty, just very dated and in bad need of renovation especially the bathroom.I wouldn’t stay again until the renovation is completed.

2019-06-29This was a great option for an overnight stay while dropping my daughter off at college. I changed my reservation last minute from another hotel up the street because this one was $60 less and I was happy with the change. The ease of checking in was smooth. I was pleasantly surprised with the the mini fridge and microwave in the room. I thought the breakfast was pretty good although my teenagers didnt like it but it saved me from having to go to McDonalds before hitting the road back home. They had a waffle maker, biscuits, gravy, grits, pork sausage links, scrambled eggs, cereal, assorted muffins, apples, bananas and juices and coffee; it was much better than I expected. The room was spacious which was nice since there were 4 of us. The bed was comfy and clean. I will definately stay here again while visiting my daughter at school.

2019-08-30The hotel is in the middle of renovations, the entrance and doorway are a mess with construction debris scattered across the driveway and lawn and left over night; the reception area is torn up, but being worked on, the walls were being sanded while breakfast was being provided. The elevator halls are torn up, and storage doors are missing. The rooms are a mess; the bathroom door would not close, tiles are broken; the bedroom furniture was broken up, the drawers had no bottoms, the chair was broken, the small TV was fixed to front of the low dresser, TV provided services were difficult to manage.Im sure the hotel will look great when finished, I just felt it to be icky. The renovations need to be more confined and not so all over the place.

2019-03-24It doesn’t deserve the one star, I didn’t stay. I was put on the 2nd floor. The first room was awful and the second almost topped it. I took pics and requested a refund. It’s no way the manager of this facility doesn’t know what kind of condition it’s in. No padding under the carpet. Feels like the floor is going to cave in when you walk on it. Stains in all the furniture. Nightstand was terribly scratched and raggedy. Looked like blood stains on the floor. Mold in the tub. The front desk clerk was nice enough to switch rooms but I refused to stay in filth for the amount of money I was paying. He was very understanding and considerate and as I explained to him it wasn’t about him but I know his manager has been made aware of the problems. Idk how it’s passing inspections. Management should be ashamed.

2019-05-25Booked online, quick checkin, very accommodating to my request, friendly staff. Room was disappointing especially giving the fact that it is Wingate. They did have all the small necessities but the amenities in the room seemed a little dated. They do supply a blow dryer, coffee maker with tea and coffee, small cups, mini fridge and a place for clothes. They put out a small breakfast, the eggs seem to be powdered eggs though but they have a waffle maker, beagles, cereal, etc... My issue was with the unclean tub in the bathroom, I pulled back the shower curtain and saw black in both back corners of the tub and under the soap dish. I was surprised and very disappointed by this. I expected more from this chain of hotels.

2017-12-27I do not recommend this hotel. The stay was not pleasant. The breakfast tasted awful. The coffee and hot water for tea in the lobby, stayed cold. The room needed renovating. The carpet, bathroom fixtures and room furniture looked old and over used. I spoke to the front desk. The person apologized. She stated the hotel is over due for some updates.
