The Hotel staff are friendly. Hotel is undergoing a exterior facelift. Rooms are roomy. The Business center computer needs a soft wear update so word documents can be printed. The Breakfast is pretty slim. The Location is GREAT. You can walk to Stores and restaurants. The Pool is outside. The Internet is open.
Very clean, staff was friendly. Beds were comfortable and the breakfast was good. We did a last minute trip and checked in really late. The rate was surprisingly cheap! Glad we stayed here.
Clean property, good rooms, great service. Our air conditioner went out in our room late in the evening and they replaced it within the hour and the staff were all pleasant. Definitely would stay here again!
Do not recommend this place at all. I checked in and within 20 minutes in my room, I found bed bugs. I have had to deal with bed bugs in the past, so I am very aware of what they look like. I decided to leave the hotel to stay elsewhere since anyone who has dealt with bed bugs knows that if they are in one room, they are likely in multiple rooms. I was told that I had to talk to the travel booking site to receive a refund. I got in contact with the travel booking site, and they were completely willing to give a full refund if the hotel would okay it. When they got in contact with the hotel, the hotel said that they would not give a refund. That is just downright poor management on the hotels part.
Dated, rooms smell of mildew, AC rattles, Mini fridge rattling all night, carpet stained, no hot tub and bathroom smelled like sewer. If youre young and just need a place to crash for a bit....doable. Im traveling with my family and need a place thats clean and comfortable.
I am a cement tanker day cab truck driver and became stranded in Columbus due to a busted pipe. I had the good fortune of staying at the Wingate. I walked in covered in cement from head to toe with not as much as a change of clothes. The kind lady at the front desk did my laundry for me in the hotel machines so I didnt have to do so wearing nothing but a towel. Not only were the accommodations very nice and reasonably priced but the customer service went above and beyond. Her name is Bianca and I cant thank her enough.
I never actually got to stay in the hotel because my mother passed away and her funeral was the weekend I was supposed to check in. However, the customer service was non-existent. They would not speak to me concerning a possible refund (which I would have used to book my upcoming trip). Originally I was told if I provided a copy of her obituary they would refund me the $305.00 but after sending the required information and waiting over a week for a response I decided to call and make sure they received what they requested. The individual I spoke with said they dont give refunds even after I explained that I had already spoke to them and provided the requested information. He said would take my name and number for his supervisor to call me back but I have yet to receive a phone call. I will not book through this hotel chain again. Word of mouth will do more than the hotel staff did.
Hotel was hot. I understand that they are under reconstruction but this was ridiculous. We were moved to another room and it was still uncomfortable. Had to go out and by a fan. Told the front desk. Said I will let my manager know. Didnt really seemed concerned. Will never stay there again

We had a very nice stay there,the only thing was the indoor hot tub/spa was not open due to renovations just to warn anybody looking forward to it,also very convenient place if you are driving somewhere on I-185 - Thursday July,27
Room was nice. Bed was comfortable. Amenities were great. There was nothing I didnt like really except that its a bit hidden behind things and a little difficult to find.

2017-11-19Remodeling, but so nice... I was surprised to see our room and I wasnt disappointed! It was clean, the hotel lady who checked us in was kind and polite and explained everything. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet place to sleep... shower was super clean, 8 changing sprays on the shower head... gentle spray to hard water spray... perfect place! I was very relieved to see the room in great condition! We stayed on the 3rd floor... I wore white sock on the carpet and didnt have nasty looking socks when i took them off. Im Very impressed!

2017-12-05I requested a 4 to 5 star hotel and ended up I n this one. Asked for a suite and paid $175.00 a night for 11/22-11/27. It was very disappointing. First of all it is under renovation and EVERY day we were there the construction crew was outside our door rm 300 scraping paint and making much noise. I requested a room on the first floor and ended up on three. No apology for the noise and definitely not a 4 star hotel. Will never patronize them again! Very disappointed. Dont mind paying for a decent place to stay, but give me what I request and give your clients a heads up on the repairs and let them choose if they care to stay or not. Never ever again!!!

2017-03-18My family and I was returning home from Florida for our first family vacation and stopped at Wingate to rest. The staff was pleasant. The hotel was beautiful and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great. I will definitely look forward to staying again for our future family vacation and will recommend this hotel to everyone i know.

2015-05-11Stayed there for 3 weeks recently in new job training nearby and really enjoyed my stay there. Rooms were very spacious, bed was very nice and comfortable. Left like a mini luxury suite in a way. Bathroom was very good too.Staff was very very helpful and friendly as well everyday. The only negative was the breakfast. Very repetitive but they made up for it very well with a courtesy Happy Hour meal from 6-7 pm every Monday-Wednesday with Lasagna on Monday, Nachos on Tuesdays and Hotdogs on Wednesday. Each dish was very good.I would definitely stay here again. The location is in a very quite and safe part of town near shopping and food options.Thank you to the Wingate Staff for a great 3 week stay.

2017-04-17Everything at this hotel seems nice. The outsider appearance, the lobby. The presentation is good. However, the rooms are a different story. Unfortunately they do not match up to the standard set by the lobbys appearance. It seems that maybe this hotel was built in the 90s, and at some point underwent and innovation but the rooms were left out. Our room was clean but everything seemed to be older. The furniture, the beds, everything in the bathroom, the coffee maker, the refrigerator..... Everything was older. Our stay at this hotel was fine. We were just disappointed by the contrast between the outside of the building and the rooms.

2015-12-11I chose this hotel because of the reviews and it had a hot tub! It was very clean, modern rooms, and its close to a nice shopping center. Got to see my son graduate boot camp after a great nights sleep thanks to the comfy bed. Theyre so comfy you can actually purchase the pillows etc... . And i wasnt worried about my car all night, neighborhood felt safe.Only negative: front desk lady was a bit testy, not very friendly. But the rest of the stay was great. Plus its a non-smoking building. Would highly recommend.

2017-06-21My husband and I recently stayed her for an overnight visit. The room was great--comfortable bed, firm sofa, big bathroom--and very clean. It had a small fridge and a microwave. We didnt need either one. The only gripe I have about the room is that the refrigerator was extremely noisy. If you stay here, you may need to unplug is, if you dont need it.

2016-10-01Its very clean! Soft bed and pillows, perfect shower pressure (at least in my room) polite staff and great free breakfast. Only down fall is there is a slight odor, kind of like an old smell. Also the Wi-Fi is slightly annoying because of its slow speed.

2014-05-12Really enjoyed my stay. Check in and out was seamless. The staff was very nice. Did not get the opportunity to use the fitness center of the pool, but I witnessed several people having a blast in the pool and using the fitness center. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was ok. By the time that I came down for breakfast, there wasnt a lot left. Im sure I will stay again.

2017-10-03Cable didnt work for the entire night. Its unfortunate because if it werent for that, Id give the hotel 5 stars. Its clean and well kept, and the breakfast was pretty Decent.As far as the cable issue, I called down to the front desk and let them know what was going on. A gentleman answered and told me hed look into it and call me back. He never did. During checkout I told the female at the front desk about my issue, she said she let the manager know and I have yet to hear from anyone.
