Very nice golf course, a challenge the first time. Some blind shots but if you play to the 150 yard mark, you’ will be fine. Fairly busy on Saturday morning but easy to get on Saturday afternoon. Fairways awesome, Greens in good shape. You may even see a deer. I highly recommend you play this course.
Beautiful Golf Course pretty challenging too, with the water hazards on 13 and 14 are really challenging you have to bring in your power swing. On 14. Staff are very nice. And Will is the coolest guy I ever met. Great customer service and great golf course. Keep up the great work! 👍🏻
Done with this course. Marshall’s are way too overzealous. Our foursome finished in 3.5 hours and still got a talking to by the Marshall. We played this course twice over the last month and both times a Marshall needlessly followed us around - watching us and hassled us. No groups were waiting behind us either. There was absolutely no reason for the Marshall to bother us. I’m all for keeping up pace of play. But this course needs to do better when it comes to their Marshall’s way too overbearing, almost harassing attitudes. No idea what the culture there is when it comes to Marshall’s but for this to happen twice in a month is ridiculous. Terrible experiences last two times we’ve been. Never again!
Will not be playing here again! The first time i came we had a good time and things went pretty well considering i brought 2 newbies with me. Today i bring a newbie and 2 ride alongs and have been nothing but harrassed about playing too slow. Golf is a leisure sport!! Its not meant to be played fast with unexperienced players. I didnt come to play speed ball i came to play golf and teach a few friends. From now on ill drive unreasonably out of my way to play golf. Dont come here if u play in groups of 3 or more because it will not be worth ur time.
PLAY SOMEWHERE ELSE! This will be the last time we play at Woodland Hills. The Marshall on the course makes it unenjoyable to play. Our group plays a best ball scramble, and typically shoots in the high 80s.This was our second time playing Woodland Hills over the past few months. Our first experience was soured by an overly eager Marshall who seems to enjoy pushing people on the course. After leaving a poor review, we were invited back out complimentary by the course. The day started off good as they hooked us up with some free range balls, and the round as a gesture of goodwill. We teed off at 9:05, and it was a busy time of the morning as there were multiple groups on the tee box waiting their tee time. We had an enjoyable front 9 on a good pace – only waiting to shoot on the first few holes as the groups started to get spread out. The Marshall passing us on hole 5 letting us know he had talked to the group in front of us, and let us know we were held up 8 minutes because of them. Not a big deal – we weren’t waiting to shoot except for the first two holes. At the turn, our group goes into the club house to buy some lunch. As we get on to hole 10, the Marshall is waiting on us to tell us we’re playing entirely too slow. We asked what the expected pace on the course was – and he replied 4 hours and 30 minutes. A member of our group asked what our pace was for the front 9 – and he told us 2:23. We reminded him that he told us we were held up 8 minutes – which should put us right on pace to what was expected. We argued with him for roughly 5 minutes – at which point it became evident he clearly only cared about pushing people through the course, and had no regard for anyone’s enjoyment. We told him that we have never seen a Marshall push people – on any course – like the way they do at Woodland Hills, and that he made it a real enjoyable place to play, to which he replied “Well maybe you should find a new place to play.” We will.Do yourself a favor – save your money, and play at a different course. Woodland Hills just isn’t worth the headache. We finished the round in 4 hours and 40 minutes, including the stop in the club house, arguing with Super Cop, and being held up the 8 minutes. Read the other reviews – it’s clear this is a recurring problem on this course.
What a great course. The service was great, from Nikki in the pro shop to KC in the snack bar. We met there this afternoon for our first round of the season, and had not played here in years. The course was in great shape. The layout is awesome. There are not a ton of houses on the holes, just lots of beautiful trees, hills and elevation changes. There are a few good courses in the area, and some with great service. Very very very few have both. Woodland Hills excels. Ill be considering becoming a member soon.
Well today a rather large group of us showed up to the course to play, and we had tee times in advance and the group was broke up into 4 teams and we were playing best ball. The first group had 7 of us which was 2 teams, a team of 3 and and team of 4. Also keep in mind the course was completely empty the only other people on the course were a twosome and they were no where near us. So on the 5th hole the manager came up to us driving across the tee box and asked us if we were seriously playing with this many people, and he was extremely rude during the conversation, and we even explained that we were playing best ball and he said that it was completly unheard of to have that many people playing. So fast forward to the end of the round after we split up the group and while we were in the club house we said that he handled the situation poorly and he stated that he was going to call the cops if we didn’t leave right then. Overall I will never be playing there again
Weve played this course every year for the past three years we have visited family in the area. The course is in great shape and has a challenging layout. There is a lot of elevation change on many of the holes which adds to the challenge. While I prefer to walk, there is too much distance between holes to do that. The clubhouse is nice and has a working bar. I highly recommend it if you are in the Ackworth, Marietta, or Cartersville area.
Woodland Hills is a unique and interesting course. I am a 9 handicap which isnt spectacular nor is it novice. I play a lot of golf around Atlanta and in South Carolina. I found the course very anti golf. Let me explain. Bent grass greens mean bent grass. Not a mixture of invasive grasses and in some cases bermuda.Advice for the superintendent, dont water the greens while players are waiting in the fairway to approach. Dont water the greens while players are putting. Keep the greens consistently the same length. Make the greens larger. The fairways are all too short. You dont really need driver for this course, not even for the par 5s I carry the ball reasonably but not Koepka. This would be a good course for seniors or kids. All of this being said, reduce the cost Woodland Hills, you cannot compete with the layout, greens, and experience of any other course around town.
My group had an issue with the temperament of one particular male employee on a Friday in early Nov., before my daughter & son-in-laws wedding the following day.I posted a review about it that same day and later saw a reply from Bryan Evans, General Mgr., asking me to contact him. When I did, I found him to be very reasonable, understanding and quite apologetic on behalf of the Club. When I consider our experience aside from the several troublesome encounters with that one employee - Id have to say it was overall very good.Bryan Evans is truly a gentleman.

2022-07-03Really enjoyed playing 18 today. Greens were in really good shape, 90% of the tee boxes were solid, and there was a great variety of holes.I originally took off a star because the sand traps were in pretty rough shape on a bunch of holes. But then I added the star back because the chicken salad sandwich on the turn was excellent! For $35, it was a fantastic value and Ill definitely be back next time Im up that way.

2022-03-23Where do I start. Me and my friends visited Woodland Hills this past month and our experience was terrible. An employee in a pink shirt was very rude to us the entire time we spoke with him. The Marshall spoke to us twice on how we were taking too long even though we were well on pace. I think this course would run a lot better if they had two golf cart boys at a time. The driving range here is not well maintained. Fix it. The range cart seems very outdated and unsafe as well. My friend ordered a sandwich here and it was extremely soggy. The bottom of the sandwich was fighting for its life and he decided just to throw it away. Woodland Hills is the worst course I’ve ever been to. I have been golfing for 11 years and have never come across a course as unprofessional and terrible as this one. If this is your only option to play, stay home.

2022-07-09I’ve always enjoyed playing at Woodland Hills over the past few years, but the course is in the worst shape I’ve ever seen it. The greens were in awful shape, with bare spots on most of them and rolling slower than I’d ever seen here. Greens needed mowing, fairways needed mowing, and the tee boxes were rough. Not sure what the current management is doing because this could be a gem of a course, and I used to think it was a great value. Today I felt ripped off bc of the course conditions.

2020-07-19Updated review DROPPED from 5-stars to 3-stars in a week due to POOR customer service .. my son and I played this course for the second weekend in a row after a friend told us about it. As my previous review stated Nice course in great shape heading into the summer season, the course is nicely kept so that comment stays true .. kudos to the maintenance staff. The problem with todays round is one person in particular. He wore a pink polo shirt and was behind the counter when we finished our round at 440PM. When we made the turn and headed out to the 10th tee box, my son advised me that he needed to use the bathroom after waiting for the foursome in front us us hit their drives and I hit mine. Since we had just made the turn and play was slow in front of us, I suggested that he go back to the clubhouse not knowing where the bathroom was on the back 9. As he ran back to the clubhouse, I retrieved my ball and I drove our cart back to wait for him. This staff member in the pink shirt made a point to come out and lecture me about leaving the course causing us to be out of sequence. He did not care that my son had to go to the restroom and we were right near the clubhouse. In fact, he tells me that there is a bathroom about 60 seconds away. He may need to drive the course again because the only bathroom on the back 9 is at the 14th hole .. definitely not 60 seconds from the 10th hole in lieu of the pace of play today. He kept berating me about how we are going to get back into sequence and I said we will just let the groups behind us play through until there is an opening so we dont hold anyone else up. That was not acceptable to him so I finally asked him how he wanted us to handle it and he told us to get back in our spot in the sequence and skip 10 and if necessary hole 11 .. which is what we did just to make him happy. He was very confrontational, unprofessional, and seems like he wanted me to know he is the man-in-charge and didnt care that my son had to use the bathroom. I am confident your other staff members that we interacted with throughout the day (Course Marshall in a purple polo shirt and Starter with a white bermuda hat) would have handled the situation in a more friendly manner. We inquired about a membership today but this situation gave us pause on that decision. Ive attached several photos of the back 9 to show examples of the slow play on holes 11, 12, 13, as well as the bathroom on 14.

2022-07-05Nice course, but need some attention to golf particulars ,, slow play and missing a course marshal. Most bazaar was the lack of on course re refreshment...especially p especially on a hot day when the course was packed...

2022-01-23Staff is super rude and stuck up(Chris). For a course that is sub par they act like they are Marietta country club. Empty course and they won’t let you play a scramble. Complained that we took two hours to play 9 holes!? Like are we supposed to hit the balls as we drive by on the carts? Go play at Creekside that has a friendly staff and are super chill. The guys at Woodlands have nothing better to do but get onto paying customers when they aren’t causing any issues.

2022-06-23A very fun and unique layout. A lot of hills, elevation changes for the greens, and lots of dog legs.

2021-05-30This place is great for 9 or 18 holes. The greens are well kept and the prices are budget friendly.

2020-06-14Great course for mediocre golfers (me) and a proving ground for good golfers. Par 71, very few sand traps (thank goodness), very forgiving while being difficult in spots. Lots of elevation changes and all around fun course. Greens can be inconsistent on speed but are in good shape, tee boxes are rock hard on some holes, but fairways, etc look fantastic. I absolutely love playing this course.
